TUNGKOL SA EPISODE NA ITO
London Marathon is now just seven weeks away, and the build continues with three of the fastest men set to toe the line in April.
Ryan is joined again by Tim Vincent (2:09), Jake Smith (2:11) and Jake Barraclough (2:14) to check in on how training is progressing as the block begins to get serious.
Between the three athletes there’s an average marathon PB of 2:11:52.
In this episode we cover:
• Accountability check-ins from Episode 1 – mobility, nutrition and heat training
• Tim Vincent’s 61:17 half marathon at Bashir’s Run (#13 Australian all-time)
• Whether that performance changes confidence or race expectations for London
• How elite athletes use half marathons within a marathon build (taper, fuelling, carb loading)
• Jake Barraclough’s Tokyo Marathon DNF and what really happened at 30km
• Jake Smith preparing for the Bath Half Marathon, where he returns as defending champion
We also answer listener questions on:
• Brutally honest thoughts on PRF
• What elite runners listen to on long runs (or if they listen to anything at all)
• Bath Half predictions and whether Jake Smith is fitter than last year
• How elites actually set marathon race pace
• Whether good sessions late in the block change your goals
Finally we finish with a London Marathon readiness score, with each athlete giving an honest percentage of where their fitness currently sits.
The road to London continues.
