katie witkiewitz is a Regents' Professor of Psychology at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Scientist of the Center on Alcoholism, Substance Abuse, & Addictions, and Director of the Addictive Behaviors and Quantitative (ABQ) Research Lab.Witkiewitz has been recognized nationally and internationally for her research in the addictions field including harm reduction and mindfulness-based interventions. She is a fellow and past president for the American Psychological Association Division 50 Society of Addiction Psychology, incoming editor for the journal Psychology of Addictive Behaviors, and on the Board of Directors for the International Society for Biomedical Research on Alcoholism.

Witkiewitz earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from SUNY Potsdam in 1999, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
