The South Carolina Gamecocks kicked off their 2026 campaign with a metaphorically sweat-free blowout against the visiting Kent State Golden Flashes. As we hoped for last week and talked about in this episode, it was a welcome change from the previous slow-starts in week 1 that we have come to know so well in the Beamer era. We talk about this welcome change, the new-look offense, freshmen making a difference early and even the weather from USC's lopsided Saturday afternoon win. TD's Spotlight of the Week has also returned, listen to find out which Gamecock playmaker gets his name on the bar's marquee for the rest of the week! After wrapping up Gamecock talk, we head straight to the Upstate where Clemson fans are starting to spiral. The Tigers were baptized in the real Death Valley over the weekend to the tune of a 51-10 blowout vs. LSU. The wheels have not fallen all the way off quite yet... but we speculate that Clemson and Dabo could be headed for rock bottom in 2026. And finally... for the first time in podcast history, Beck and Thomas have been on the same side of a winning DB Blitz pick. We break down the rest of our week 1 wins and losses before some quick housekeeping notes and a shoutout to a Gamecock competing in the US Open.
