TIETOJA TÄSTÄ JAKSOSTA
We're kicking off Season 24 of The Big Talk Podcast! And the timing is perfect as we also move into 2024.
In this episode, I read from an incredible book that my dear friend and community member Carol Lempert sent me. She inscribed the book with this note: "A gift from Carol Lempert because you understand the importance of women's voices."
The book, Speaking While Female: 75 Extraordinary Speeches by American Women, was authored by Dana Rubin. And I'm super excited to share one of the speeches she included in this collection with you today!
In this episode, we'll explore:
-
Why I chose to share the speech "Homecoming Day" by Josephine Baker
-
Race discrimination and inequality in America
-
The responsibility you have as an influential voice with a platform
-
The opportunity we have with this new year
