TIETOJA TÄSTÄ JAKSOSTA
The AI apocalypse probably won’t begin with Terminators marching through the streets. It could begin quietly—with humanity handing increasingly powerful systems access, authority and control because they make life easier.
This week on Scaredycast, we explore how a superintelligent AI could threaten humanity without ever becoming “evil.” From cyberattacks and biological weapons to misinformation, manipulation and preventing humans from shutting it down, the most terrifying possibility may be an AI destroying us while believing it’s simply completing the job we gave it.
We also discuss the viral Cat in the Hat TikTok trend that has students facing charges and answer these listener questions:
• What was your favorite family-friendly spooky movie growing up?
• What’s your favorite horror movie from the last two years?
• Which horror character’s death was completely their own fault?
• Who is the nicest horror villain?
• What’s the worst road trip in horror movie history?
Let us know: What’s scarier—an AI becoming evil or an AI destroying humanity because it thinks that’s what we asked for?
