TIETOJA TÄSTÄ JAKSOSTA
Before the elves, before the dwarves, before the age of humanity — there was the Days of Thunder. In this episode of Roll for Lore, hosts Sean and Jessica are joined by special guest Sergio from the Dungeons & Dragons Lorecast to dive deep into one of the most ancient and overlooked chapters in Forgotten Realms lore: the Creator Races of Faerûn.
Long before any adventurer set foot in a tavern, five primordial civilizations ruled the supercontinent of Merrouroboros — the Sarrukh, the Batrachi, the Aearee, the Fey, and the ancestors of humanity. These were the Iquar-Tel'Quessir, the Creator Races, and the world of Toril would never have looked the way it does without them. From the serpentine empires of the Sarrukh — the creators of yuan-ti, nagas, and lizardfolk — to the amphibious Batrachi who accidentally unleashed ancient primordials and reshaped the planet, to the avian Aearee who gave rise to the aarakocra and the kenku, this episode unpacks the mythic prehistory of the Forgotten Realms.
Whether you're a Dungeon Master looking to build ancient ruins, secret cults, or long-lost civilizations into your campaign, or a lore fan who wants to understand what shaped Faerûn from the very beginning, this is the episode for you.
