TIETOJA TÄSTÄ JAKSOSTA
In this episode, associate editor Quinton Amundson is joined by reporter Luke Mandato in an episode brought to you by Chalice Canada. The team welcomes two special guests this week, with Amundson sharing his interview with Conservative MP Tamara Jansen about Bill C-218, her private member’s bill that would permanently stop the expansion of Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) to those solely living with a mental illness. Jansen shares insights from her summer town halls, the urgency of the issue and the bill’s upcoming second reading on September 23 and vote on October 7. Mandato then shares his interview with Neil MacCarthy, the communications and public relations director for the Archdiocese of Toronto, about the Help Not Harm campaign and how Canadian Catholics are mobilizing to support such efforts to protect the vulnerable.
