TIETOJA TÄSTÄ JAKSOSTA
Episode three of Mapping Evil, recorded in Australia with Tori Shepherd, is all about location, location, location, and how sexual predators use it to isolate their victims. Mike starts with the four rapist categories, from power reassurance up to the anger excitation offender, the most dangerous of all.
The main case is Michael Blake Jensen, a power assertive predator who hunted real estate agents. He shopped for victims using for sale signs carrying glamour shots of female agents, posed as a cash buyer and chose unoccupied homes. He was caught when one victim reported immediately, leading to a helicopter chase that ended with a police canine. Then Queensland, 1967: Mima McKim Hill, 21, vanished between Calliope and Biloela; her body was found 80 kilometers west near Collard Creek. Mike maps the three crime scenes and tests how a broken-down truck, possibly Erik Johan Seifers', could explain the geography.
He closes by contrasting Jensen, the careful strategist, with the opportunistic predator, and talks plainly about the victim risk continuum and the small daily decisions that raise or lower our risk.
