Matt (00:00.765)
Hello and welcome to...
Luciano (00:04.494)
not having a voice
Spencer (00:06.469)
Can it go on? I'm going to the bottles!
Matt (00:06.483)
Not cracking, cracking, puberty. Welcome to puberty, popcorn and plot holes.
I have a lung condition that I've just made up immediately to answer why that happened. Yeah.
Luciano (00:17.752)
Yeah, it's called getting old.
Spencer (00:20.188)
No, just got out of grade nine science class. Hi guys, it's good to be here.
Luciano (00:25.907)
Hahaha!
Matt (00:27.517)
You could call it health class Spencer.
Spencer (00:29.192)
Sorry, not woke enough for you.
Matt (00:31.241)
That's how we, that's where he's talking. That's, that's how, that's where we talk about the weird sex stuff is health class. It sounds important. listen, we'll get to the weird sex stuff in this podcast. I'm sure we watched 2025. We watched the 2025. I don't know. Is this silver Delroy Lindo vehicle sinners?
Spencer (00:38.002)
Weird sex stuff, this is just the normal sex stuff.
Luciano (00:43.223)
yeah, we definitely will.
Spencer (00:44.956)
Good, great segue.
Spencer (00:51.528)
It always is.
Luciano (00:51.852)
Yeah, buddy guy, the buddy guy vehicle.
Matt (00:55.347)
buddy guy vehicle sinners.
Spencer (00:55.848)
Sinners.
Luciano (01:00.024)
How many asses are in that?
Spencer (01:00.585)
to do to us just yeah perfect
Matt (01:01.363)
Two S's, one at the beginning, one at the end, just in case you were wondering. Yep. Yeah, let's just dive into it. There's no need to beat around it. Luciano's here, Spencer's here, I'm here. You got the gist of it. Blah, blah, blah.
Luciano (01:14.21)
Wow, expeditious.
Matt (01:16.659)
We have a lot to cover. It is true. We do. Based on what you said, based on what you said in the pre-show, we got a lot to cover.
Luciano (01:19.273)
Do we?
Spencer (01:21.178)
I don't like them, but it's true.
Luciano (01:26.83)
you guys are making such a big deal out of this.
Matt (01:30.079)
Well, it's the hottest take since maybe Morbius wasn't the villain.
Spencer (01:30.568)
That's a hot take.
Matt (01:40.275)
Positive, we always start positive just in case someone doesn't like a movie. So let's be positive with Sinners. Luciano, do you want to go first?
Luciano (01:48.75)
Sure, I think my favorite thing about this movie was just Michael B Jordan. Fucking knocked it out of the park. Like, Michael B acting indeed. He like, normally when the same person plays twins, like I, when you guys told me about this, cause you guys knew about this movie before I did, was like, oh, he plays twins. I'm like, oh no, I got Van Damme flashbacks from the nineties when he was trying to play.
Spencer (01:56.04)
Mike- Michael B. Acton.
Matt (01:57.439)
Yeah.
Matt (02:03.336)
Yeah.
Luciano (02:16.152)
two different guys that sounded the same. This was the opposite. Obviously we had the little visual cues, everything with stack was red, everything with smoke was blue. But even when they didn't have their get ups on, you could easily tell which one was which. They were very different personalities, very different people. And just...
Spencer (02:33.543)
was was like twi- Jane DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Luciano (02:37.422)
Yes, exactly. That's exactly what I mean. Yeah, no, it was just really like, you know, the whole thing when Spider-Man, when, you know, Stacc dies or almost dies. Just the whole act of it. Like he was... I knew he was a good actor because obviously I'd seen other movies, but this was like I was super impressed and super like it was super good. His acting. Yeah, he was super good.
Matt (02:37.577)
Same. Yep. Yeah.
Spencer (02:40.776)
Exactly like that.
Matt (02:51.369)
Wow
Spencer (03:03.068)
Super good
Matt (03:04.457)
Super good, great job.
Spencer (03:07.764)
Got all the superlatives.
Matt (03:09.457)
Spencer, do you want to take a stab at this?
Spencer (03:13.052)
Yes, stab at it. Cause that's how you kill a vampire with a stabbing through the heart. Just clarify that.
Luciano (03:15.792)
Ayyyy
Matt (03:24.927)
You shot a gun there. You gotta stab.
Luciano (03:27.478)
Yeah, that was weird.
Spencer (03:27.624)
Stab him. You know, we all know what that is. Stab, stab. You'll ch-ch-stab.
Luciano (03:31.827)
Stab him with lead!
Matt (03:37.767)
Listen, if you're not watching this podcast, the chick chick and the stab should be clear what Spencer was doing, I think.
Spencer (03:39.953)
Yeah, you should be.
Yes, exactly. I was, I was changing it for audio. this movie had a lot of good parts because it's a, you know, a lot of good parts in this movie or barely lead, but it's a good movie. I'd say that my favorite part, I will just say specific scene. And I think we all know the scene when he was playing the music and the transcending through time and all the different that that scene is like took the movie from like, this movie is good to be like,
Luciano (03:43.309)
Yeah.
Luciano (04:04.231)
okay.
Luciano (04:09.954)
Yeah.
Spencer (04:13.512)
This movie is like something. It's something different. it's like, like I'm like, this reminds me of like when you used to go to the movies and see things you'd never seen before. And you're like, cool. I haven't felt that in a while.
Luciano (04:26.83)
It was like a scene from everything, everywhere at once. It was straight out of that, the same sort of insanity that works. It was very good. But I just, sorry. Sorry, is. is. I liked it too.
Matt (04:26.856)
Right, right.
Spencer (04:36.584)
I was just saying how it's just like nothing and you just said it's exactly like this movie. No, it was original and that's why I liked it. So fuck you.
Matt (04:39.057)
And you're, yeah.
Matt (04:46.483)
Yeah, we don't, we don't got enough time to argue with you about what's an original thought and what's, what's a stolen idea. Ryan Coogler, he knows what he's doing when making movies.
Spencer (04:51.08)
Yeah, all thoughts are stolen.
Spencer (05:00.284)
There's no doubt about that. But that was like, yeah, like that moment is when I was like, this is like making me feel something. What is this?
Luciano (05:00.387)
Yeah.
Matt (05:08.605)
I don't you know, I'm gonna go next. I think you thank you Spencer great contribution. No need to ask any Follow-up. Yeah, no follow-up questions required on what you feel or don't feel and how you feel it I personally it's kind of like Spencer's I just the music overall in the movie like there's a lot of attention paid to the music and the songs they use and like it really Connects all the pieces of the movie together to make it something unique Especially when you consider that when you get into the movie it is a vampire movie, but it doesn't feel like
Spencer (05:10.696)
I'm glad that I already stopped talking
Matt (05:38.463)
you're bored of vampires or like, you know, we've done a lot of vampire movies. It's
Spencer (05:40.251)
No.
Luciano (05:41.71)
Alright, takes half the movie for them to actually show up.
Matt (05:44.509)
Yeah, but even when they show up, it's just like it's so much more than they just like them being a vampire is just like an afterthought almost in many ways.
Luciano (05:47.639)
Yeah, yeah.
Spencer (05:52.104)
Yeah, it's very surface level, them being vampires. There's much more beneath the surface. And the music is almost like borderline a musical, which should surprise me.
Luciano (05:58.369)
It could have been...
Luciano (06:03.086)
And it could have been vampires it could have been any other sort of monster and it would have worked just as well Yeah, actually that'd have been good no go go to be a harder, but yeah, my god
Matt (06:09.309)
Werewolves.
Matt (06:14.995)
Well
Spencer (06:15.208)
Jewish people. Whoa, I'm Jewish. could say I'm joking. Everyone's uncomfortable. Well, you know, like the whole symbolism of them, taking their music for profit. think, you know, there's lot of, you know, producers that maybe fit that bill.
Matt (06:22.431)
I'm scared.
Luciano (06:22.806)
Yeah, of characters in this movie would agree with you.
Matt (06:28.265)
Matt (06:36.051)
Are you saying that Jews control the media? that what you're saying?
Spencer (06:38.525)
No! I mean no, actually no. I'm not just space lasers.
Luciano (06:40.13)
Just the space lasers. Yeah.
Matt (06:43.391)
I've been I've been allowed to come to this podcast to make it seem like Jesus don't control the media
Luciano (06:48.494)
Yeah. We give you the illusion that you're the one leading the conversation. Yeah.
Spencer (06:49.012)
It's all part of the plan!
Matt (06:53.107)
That's right, exactly. Thank you.
Spencer (06:54.184)
If you told me this Jew would have this podcast being listened to by people in the media Yeah, exactly so case closed
Matt (06:58.975)
Shit. All right. Let's dive into this bad boy. Sinners, as we said, a vampire movie, excellent acting, an original movie, like an original idea, Luciano. Yeah.
Luciano (06:59.168)
That is true. So would this Drew. So yes.
Spencer (07:18.866)
Huh?
Luciano (07:20.098)
Yeah, that was the thing. It's a sad state of affairs when that is sort of like, hey, this is not copying or borrowing from anything. It's new. And you go, wha? Like that should be the part for the course, but it's not.
Spencer (07:30.408)
Mm-hmm.
Matt (07:35.783)
Yeah, it is. It's surprising that that's like, I think that's a Hollywood thing, right? Hollywood's like trying to rally around the idea that like, people are coming to movies because we don't have original ideas. Look, we have original ideas and they're successful. You know, yes, but also, you know, like, well, that's it's not an original idea. It's a book that he adapted very poorly. but anyways, but it's like, I think.
Spencer (07:50.056)
say that to Mickey 17. Oh yeah it was a book.
Matt (08:01.031)
The idea that something has to be an original idea is probably a bit of a fallacy in the sense that like Mickey 17 is a book that got made into a movie. That's still a new thing, right? Like I, I'm, I separated like, is it a sequel or is it not a sequel? Not is it adapted from another source? Cause
Luciano (08:05.003)
Yeah.
Spencer (08:18.12)
I mean, really, yeah, it comes down to like, is it good? Or is it a paint by numbers, you know, company tested safe franchise that is like...
Luciano (08:30.284)
Not just that, right? But it's like, we have this other thing to rely on to cause people to come see it, not the fact that it's actually good and that's people want to see it. Right?
Matt (08:30.802)
Exactly.
Matt (08:39.498)
Yeah. Yeah, like Thunderbolts is a fine Marvel movie that actually does some good stuff with it, but it is still in the franchise, so it has a lot less to risk and it's not really telling you.
Spencer (08:40.36)
But yeah.
That movie was good. I liked that movie.
Luciano (08:49.325)
Yeah.
Spencer (08:49.352)
But you could take risk with any franchise, you know, you take like, you know, what's the biggest franchise like Star Wars and you make a story about like an alcoholic bounty hunter that, you know, like it make it are rated and all of a sudden you're like, wow, this is an original movie because it's not the same fucking, you know, hero formula.
Matt (08:59.123)
I'd watch it.
Luciano (09:04.621)
Yeah. And you can also go the other direction and make a series about Boba Fett wearing diapers for five episodes.
Spencer (09:14.696)
Sorry, I forgot about the bubblefed diaper scenes.
Luciano (09:16.59)
Like So, yeah, it's not like the risk-taking is that's why I mean they've always been averse to that But it feels like in the last I don't know 20 years. It's been more right like there's an god forbid we tried this new thing
Matt (09:17.919)
Originalized. It's fine. It's just there to have a couple extra Mando episodes. That's all.
Spencer (09:21.672)
It's true.
Matt (09:33.543)
It's,
Matt (09:37.479)
Yeah.
Spencer (09:37.874)
Well, budgets of movies are just like so big, you know?
Matt (09:40.607)
That's the thing, right? No one, you know, what was it? That stupid electric state, right? Electric state somehow costs like 300 to 400 million. No idea. trillion, a trillion dollars, like no idea. But it's like, why does a movie have, like part of it's like a movie doesn't have to be expensive to be good, right? I think that's the thing. It's like, yeah, Marvel movies need to be expensive because of the special effects, I guess, sure. Like, but that doesn't mean every other movie I want to watch.
Spencer (09:48.968)
at 300.
Luciano (09:49.728)
I'm still not sure how. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Spencer (09:53.234)
billion dollars.
Matt (10:10.589)
has to be that way. And so a lot of it's Hollywood's own doing of like, everything has got to be a spectacle. If I don't spend 400 million, one's going to watch this movie. Meanwhile, you you can certainly make good movies with limited budgets. And I don't, don't have to budget this movie is so I don't want to lump it in there. Cause I don't know if it's. Yeah. So that's, that's a decent amount. Yeah.
Spencer (10:26.386)
think it was like 70 million or something like that. Modest by these days. Well, it's also like, I know this podcast is about centers and not the movie industry, the last thing is like it is, it's the self-propelling, the way studios work is like something works and they copy it. So like the things that work the biggest are the big budget stuff and then they just copy that and they're like, well this movie cost 300 billion and it brought in a billion. So then we should.
Luciano (10:29.612)
I would have thought it was more... Yeah, I thought it was more.
Matt (10:46.845)
Yeah. Yeah.
Luciano (10:52.44)
Well.
Spencer (10:56.168)
Spend that on the next big franchise, on the next big franchise.
Luciano (10:57.152)
Yeah, well guess we can... yeah. Well, with how well this movie did I guess we can expect a bunch of sinners copycats to pop up here and there completely misunderstanding why this movie is good.
Matt (10:57.691)
Yeah. Yeah. I got to the next billion dollar franchise, right? That's, that's the goal. Yeah.
Spencer (11:01.733)
Yeah.
Spencer (11:12.55)
Yeah, it's called the Sinnersmatic Universe.
Luciano (11:16.155)
wait, we're gonna talk about that later. Don't bury the lead. When?
Spencer (11:18.598)
It's coming. I'm just saying.
Matt (11:20.509)
What? Okay. When? Hey, Luciano, you mentioned something that I have no opinion on earlier in the free show. And I just want you to share with our fans. Just, I have no opinion currently. I want to let you fully express yourself before I tell you how deeply wrong you are. You mentioned that...
Luciano (11:25.997)
Yes.
Luciano (11:34.941)
Just lies? You're just gonna lie. Is that what you're gonna do? Okay.
Spencer (11:42.578)
dangerous.
Luciano (11:44.014)
Okay.
Matt (11:46.847)
Well, you like this movie. There is one thing that annoyed you to no end. I'm hosting and I'm pretending I have control. Don't let the media control you. Wait, you are the media. Anyways, damn it.
Luciano (11:51.202)
There's, well no, that's not what I said at all, but I know where you're getting at. I don't give a shit. You're lying, not hosting.
No, I'm the one. Yeah. So and I'm going to use this as an example of something we keep on talking about in the podcast where it's like when the movie is good, you're much more willing to like not care about specifics, right? But it was something that struck me and I was watching this with my wife and she's she's the first one she said it to me. And then when she said to me, I just couldn't stop thinking about it. But no, it's not. It's on me. It's on me.
Spencer (12:02.298)
We are the media.
Spencer (12:26.76)
Don't pin this on your wife, because we're going to shit on it. Yeah. You said it in the pre-show. It was your take. And you said it ruined the movie for you. And you punched your eyes out.
Matt (12:28.433)
Yeah, this is your take and your take alone.
Luciano (12:31.426)
Well, no, it's her take that I just agree with. But it's, I, I, there is absolutely no way they could have gotten all of that stuff organized in a single day, the way that it worked. Just, it just doesn't, it just doesn't, like, you just don't have time to do all that needed to be done with the distances that needed to be gone too. Like it's not.
Matt (12:34.013)
You coward.
You
Matt (12:44.977)
And so the stuff you're complaining about is.
Spencer (12:46.696)
You
Matt (12:51.048)
Okay, so.
Okay, fine. First question I have for you. Did you know that Michael B. Jordan plays twins? And so it wasn't one character doing all of that stuff. It was actually two characters split up doing things at the same time.
Luciano (13:00.418)
Yes?
Yes. yeah. And they went through the trouble, which I appreciate, of showing, not just like, we're going to have a party. Party. Like, they didn't do that, for sure.
Spencer (13:14.246)
still didn't sell you on it.
Matt (13:14.367)
It sounds like you would have rather them to just say we're having a party party.
Luciano (13:17.78)
No, no, no, I would. That would have been much worse. I would actually have then been annoyed to no end. I wasn't annoyed. It was just like...
Spencer (13:18.83)
Yeah!
Matt (13:21.639)
Okay.
So how, Spencer, you attack him. I mean, you ask him a question.
Spencer (13:26.522)
I yeah yeah I know I have more questions so the so your your argument here your thesis is you cannot throw a party in one day
Luciano (13:31.617)
Okay.
Luciano (13:39.67)
No, you cannot come to town by the place which is away from everything and is not a party venue but is a sawmill then go... it was a sawmill, it was an old sawmill. They used it as a slaughterhouse but it was a... whatever. It was not a party place, that's what I'm saying. It wasn't like they had the...
Spencer (13:51.144)
is a slaughterhouse.
But they said it was actually a slaughterhouse.
Matt (14:01.948)
you
Spencer (14:02.482)
It was a club called The Slaughterhouse. played EDM.
Luciano (14:05.758)
Yeah, that's where they shot the blade scene that first blade scene, right? Yeah No, so like they went like they go in they buy the thing from the clans, dude Then they go back with their truck and they try to hide it you can't get to the they get to town Go talk to get they have there. I can't because that is how much they know shut the fuck up you both
Spencer (14:27.144)
Go faster! Just because you say it slow doesn't mean it went slow. They had to go to the town.
Matt (14:29.087)
Just because you're saying it's slow?
Luciano (14:35.412)
You both shut the fuck up. There's so many things they had to do and it had to go so well They had to go to the town. They had to get the signs made that they didn't they couldn't have been made They needed to figure out food. They need to convince fucking delta slim to stop drinking and go play with them. They had They it took a while meanwhile smoke is driving somewhere else he stopped has some sex with any good for him But that doesn't help the plan
Spencer (14:46.354)
They had to get-
Spencer (14:53.884)
Yeah, that took four, five hours.
Matt (14:55.913)
I'm mum
Spencer (15:03.462)
That's a minute! Tops! Tops! If she's lucky!
Matt (15:05.124)
Yeah
Luciano (15:05.193)
Then wow Spencer wow Spencer a minute I see I
Matt (15:10.662)
Yeah
Luciano (15:14.158)
And then it's like, we want you to cook for us, but first let's get some new key. Okay, fine. We have time. And then they have to go there. They have to bring the food. They have to prepare the food. They have to set things up. Then they have to go find the bouncer, convince the bouncer. There's, there is no, yes, they did. They did, but it worked out too well and it worked out too fast. It's, but no, shut the fuck up. I have to finish.
Spencer (15:28.646)
They showed this. It's almost like they spent the first hour of the movie showing this.
Matt (15:38.653)
Alright, before I declare who gives a shit, rule of cool. You're not done yet?
Luciano (15:44.294)
It didn't really bother me as much as you made out to be. It's just like I thought, if this was a shitty movie, I would not have excused it. But because it's a good movie, I don't care.
Spencer (15:45.64)
How is this not done?
Spencer (15:55.408)
Sounds like a man who's never thrown an event in his life.
Matt (15:58.077)
The fact that you noticed it already is a pro- or sorry, your wife noticed it quote unquote throw her under the fucking bus. Mm-hmm. That's all right. I don't see her on the podcast defending herself. Great job. No, she's not gonna- yeah, exactly. Yeah. Rightfully so. Yeah. So, but- so you're- like, the fact that you noticed this is how stupid this is because it doesn't fucking- it literally doesn't matter. But- no, no, that- so that's- that's the first-
Spencer (16:01.222)
is baffling. Yeah.
Luciano (16:04.428)
No, she did, she did.
Luciano (16:08.822)
I can call her here and she's not gonna come she's gonna tell me to fuck myself
Spencer (16:11.048)
Yeah, exactly. Rightfully so.
Luciano (16:22.092)
It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter.
Spencer (16:23.014)
No, no, that's why we're- Don't let him off the hook like it doesn't matter. He's wrong!
Matt (16:27.497)
That's the first point. It doesn't matter. The second point is...
Luciano (16:27.85)
No, no, it doesn't matter for the movie at all. I agree. It doesn't.
Matt (16:35.347)
If you're using actual facts, there's two separate people doing these things in parallel at the same time. The liquor they already had was sitting in a truck, right? Because the only jump scare in the entire movie is the stupid snake, which was like, man, fuck you guys for that. I wasn't expecting it, that's why it's a jump scare. But that's, no they're here, no they're there. So that's done. He goes into town, they gotta make a sign. What are they making the sign out of? It's like, how long is it gonna take to make a sign? They only have red paint, like how complicated could that be?
Luciano (16:41.719)
Yes!
Right?
Luciano (16:49.932)
Yeah, it wasn't even the jumpscare, to be honest. okay, okay, yeah.
Luciano (17:04.27)
That shows how much you don't know. Yes, it can be very complicated because they have to like they have to leave everything they have to bring everybody to this out of out of the way place
Matt (17:08.671)
But you're applying.
Spencer (17:13.512)
5 guesses off the rails.
Matt (17:16.617)
Yeah, but you're implying that everything someone does is to the maximum of the time it takes in your brain.
Spencer (17:22.278)
Let's just, let's try this a different way, okay? Luciano, they had to get what? Alcohol, food, design, entertainment, a bouncer. Let me just, no, no, no, that's not the question. Listen, what food did they make? What food did they make?
Luciano (17:22.528)
No, it's-
Yes.
Luciano (17:31.916)
Have you ever prepared food in your life? Have you ever prepared food in Have you ever put together an event where you don't have professional people putting together the event?
Spencer (17:44.572)
What food did they make?
Matt (17:44.905)
This is in a professional event first off and what foods did they make is a great question.
Luciano (17:47.852)
That's exactly the point. Professionals are efficient. Those guys are not. Wow. No, no. Listen. Listen.
Spencer (17:49.224)
He didn't answer my question. He's deflecting. He's deflecting!
Matt (17:53.011)
He's a, it's a classic Republican response. He's a flex and doesn't answer your question.
Spencer (17:56.232)
So here's it ready boom ready, I'm gonna I got a party tonight I'm gonna go to the food place pick up the food. I'm already have the alcohol. Let me finish. Let me finish
Luciano (18:05.038)
Yes! No! I'm not gonna let you finish. You're in 2025. They were in 1932. They had... Not everybody has a car. Not everybody has a vehicle to They had one! One truck that was already there to set it up and one old beat up shit that they drove everywhere.
Spencer (18:11.826)
So what?
Spencer (18:15.463)
They did!
So?
Matt (18:23.539)
This is, this is like, this is why this argument is so dumb. You're, you're applying that you only saw one truck, therefore no one else had a truck. But how did, how did, is it Bo and his wife get there? They drove a vehicle. They were in town at a grocery store. Yeah. Yeah. So they had other vehicles to bring things to the party. Yeah.
Luciano (18:37.847)
Yes.
Spencer (18:38.76)
think you could throw this party together in three hours.
Luciano (18:41.218)
They show it, they showed a bunch of people arriving there, right? And they arrived there at night already. And they said they had to cook, they said they had to set everything up, they had to put everything together. Listen, listen, listen, it doesn't... Yes, they did gumbo. They showed gumbo at one point. You know how long that takes to make?
Matt (18:52.425)
This is, this is like.
Spencer (18:53.768)
Insanity. Hold on, did they show the food? Did they make slow braised brisket?
Matt (19:04.733)
Well, after they banged for like five seconds, it doesn't have to take 12 hours. This is, but this is the thing. You don't have to show that. just, you can't apply your specific set of like ideals on how perfect gumbo should be made. They showed enough. They showed enough to be like, they brought food, they brought liquor, they brought people.
Spencer (19:04.946)
Four hours?
Luciano (19:06.378)
No, 12!
Spencer (19:09.0)
It doesn't have to be 12 hour GUMBO! It could be 4 hour GUMBO!
Luciano (19:11.842)
Don't show it to me then!
Luciano (19:17.206)
Listen, they showed it!
Luciano (19:24.342)
Yes, and I'm saying it doesn't matter. It didn't take away from my enjoyment of the movie. It did not. did not. Actually, actually it was just foot.
Matt (19:29.105)
It did. It's taking away from my enjoyment of the movie.
Spencer (19:30.812)
It's just so wrong. Luciano's argument is like, the spaghetti dinner was made tonight. How did we have time to make spaghetti dinner? You gotta make the meatballs, you gotta make the spaghetti, you gotta heat up the water, that all takes like an hour.
Luciano (19:41.418)
Yeah, yes, you have you need time. You need time. You need to put people together to work together. They never work together to do things that you probably never done together. And they did it all in one day. If it was two days, it was fine.
Matt (19:57.425)
It must be a nightmare living in the prison that is your brain that you can't not think about this stuff.
Spencer (19:58.732)
my goodness.
Yeah, it's called being a it's called being a project manager you tell the lady you're in charge of food have this ready for 10 p.m. It'll take me five hours. You have him now calls there. You have the bad there They're already trained there. don't teach him anything. They just tell him to come you tell everybody else to come you're done
Luciano (20:02.19)
It is. That is true. That I agree with.
Luciano (20:12.02)
Anyway, I will...
Matt (20:19.252)
Like
Luciano (20:19.427)
Yes, and they have to do it and it takes time.
Matt (20:21.725)
You saw how long it took to convince Delroy Lindo to come play. It took like 10 minutes of movie time, which is actually 10 minutes of real time. That is not anything that took time. Yeah, he spent more...
Luciano (20:27.214)
Yeah.
Spencer (20:30.716)
He drove back with him! Entertainment was done.
Luciano (20:32.492)
Yeah, and you notice how far it was, how long they had that drive. You know what, you know what, we're giving this way more time than they gave it in the movie.
Matt (20:38.697)
How, this is the thing, how long, how long were they driving? You're just, you're like, they drove past some cotton fields. Okay, how long was that? How fast were they going? What's the land speed of a Model T?
Luciano (20:46.35)
They were driving a long time. It's slow. It's very slow.
Matt (20:53.299)
What's a long time? They were driving for like 10 minutes. How do you know it's a couple hours?
Luciano (20:55.31)
Couple hours come on. There was that good because the sawmill is so far. They said it They said it's out of the way from the town. They said in the beginning of the movie
Spencer (21:01.362)
From what?
Matt (21:04.937)
Yes, but that's in 1932 terms and out of the way of town is like 10 miles, five miles. You're applying that. You're making that up.
Luciano (21:09.262)
No, it's very far. Anyway.
Spencer (21:14.376)
Luciano, need you to get me a coffee and a donut. What do I have? Five hours? I don't have five hours to spare. You just go and get it, you come back.
Luciano (21:16.401)
I
Luciano (21:22.113)
Yeah, that's... No, it's not like that, but we're giving this too much time. There's things that bothered me about this movie a little bit more than this, actually. But no, it's just the one... No, it was just... It was just the whole... feel... They feel his pain and it doesn't happen all the time. And I was like, oh, come on. Yeah.
Matt (21:30.251)
God, well, let me, let me indulge you.
Spencer (21:34.407)
My favorite.
Spencer (21:37.938)
Yeah, that bothered me too. I'll give you that. But I like that our biggest argument I think ever on the show is maybe about the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life.
Luciano (21:42.286)
Yeah.
Matt (21:44.585)
This is, this, now this is what we're here for because it is, it is so dumb and it needs to be talked about to fully, fully understand.
Spencer (21:50.898)
needs to be talked about. We need a diagram. One of our fans, make a diagram for us. Chris, if you're listening.
Luciano (21:56.104)
Which one? The one?
Matt (22:00.319)
Chris, make us a diagram.
Luciano (22:01.871)
Chris yeah now now our only confirmed subscriber that isn't the three of us
Spencer (22:05.576)
Yeah, he had subscribed immediately it was a bad breakup Legal drama
Matt (22:07.399)
No, unsubscribe immediately, I'm sure of it.
Luciano (22:09.551)
Immediately, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Matt (22:15.933)
So, okay, so we have a bit of time left. Let's talk about the rest of the entire movie to some, no, fair enough, to some degree. Like, let's talk about, we got to talk about Remic because we're gonna ask some questions about him, but like, let's talk about, because I mean, the whole movie is an allegory to racial tension. Remic is...
Spencer (22:19.482)
No.
Luciano (22:28.034)
Yes.
Luciano (22:34.828)
Yeah, it's more than just, yeah, it is an allegory, but it is really like shoving your nose in it, right? Like there's no escaping it from any angle, right? Yeah, yes, yes.
Matt (22:43.891)
Yes, because, because white people are dumb and you need to shove their face in it for them to understand.
Spencer (22:48.572)
No, compared to Thunderbolt it was very subtle.
Matt (22:51.583)
That is fair.
Luciano (22:51.758)
I haven't watched it yet, so...
Spencer (22:53.448)
Thunderbolt Thunderbolt is very and I like Thunderbolt, but it's like you saw do you Matt you see it? We went together Now we're That's what I thought I Don't remember that now my brain But yeah compared to Thunderbolt this was actually quite subtle
Luciano (22:57.805)
Hit so.
Matt (22:59.507)
We went together.
Luciano (23:04.814)
Luciano (23:14.648)
You okay?
Matt (23:15.817)
Don't worry, you didn't go with me, I went with Chris. I'm transposing the two of you.
Luciano (23:19.986)
wow. I don't... I don't... The worst part was you're going, that's right! Like your brain... Your brain is so full of holes, like you trust someone else's recollection.
Spencer (23:21.052)
Yeah! See? Yeah, fuck you, I saw that Montreal!
Matt (23:24.63)
you
Yeah.
Spencer (23:28.328)
No, then I was starting to freak out!
Matt (23:33.733)
You know what though? The real problem here is that Luciano can't let go of the fact it took him that long to put a party together. Let's focus on that.
Luciano (23:41.614)
Don't pin this on me! You mistake!
Spencer (23:43.464)
Listen, listen, I was like my other thing is where'd they get the tool for those jackets? They gotta make those things. They don't got time to make jackets.
Luciano (23:50.402)
They had to make all of those clothes from scratch!
Matt (23:50.601)
Yeah.
Luciano (23:55.502)
You
Matt (23:57.439)
You know how long it takes to turn cotton into fibers? Come on. but yeah, anyway, so you were saying not about Thunderbolts or anything.
Luciano (24:01.546)
yeah.
Luciano (24:06.088)
He was saying that this is subtle because Thunderbolts hit you upside the head I guess with it?
Matt (24:10.069)
It did. Why it did? It did.
Spencer (24:10.286)
But the allegory, but I mean, this one is the thing is like, you could easily look at this movie and be like, it's an allegory for racism, but it's way more. There's so many layers of allegory in this, which makes it really interesting. Like the layers of like, there's like the religion and there's layers of like a cultural approach to creation and not even like, not even like in like a, a vindictive way in all of it, in like the way it's presented.
Matt (24:20.991)
Sure, yes.
Yeah.
Luciano (24:32.6)
That I think.
Luciano (24:37.409)
No.
Spencer (24:40.048)
And like almost like being like, just want to be part of it. But in being part of it, you kind of take away from the uniqueness of that culture and like them having that, like the people having their own sort of shut your mouth. I did it. I did it. This time I did it. I got it myself with my Swiss cheese brain. Did we see it together, man?
Matt (24:50.495)
Hey Spencer, what YouTube channel did you watch to get all this?
Luciano (24:54.702)
I was gonna say, I act good for you. That was the same. That was the same takeaway. Like that was the main takeaway that I got is like, just how, how much they wanted, and arguably still want to just be left alone and be able to live their lives. But to
do that they sort of have to give up part of who they are to an extent. I mean, Delta Slim even says, you know, the white man loves the blues, but he doesn't like who makes it, right? He says it in that car ride, one of the ones that took way too long. It couldn't have happened in a single day. But, thought that like, they tried to...
Spencer (25:40.744)
Don't you do it! Don't you open up that can of worms!
Matt (25:45.021)
Luciano (25:52.878)
And this is together with the music. I like the way that they paint music as this transcendent thing that transcends culture and time and norms and everything. That scene you mentioned, Spencer, right? It's like all of those things together and they make it work, which is, I think the most impressive thing about that scene actually is how all the music works together. doesn't matter what genre it is in evidence. I obviously...
Spencer (26:06.376)
Mm-hmm.
Spencer (26:18.44)
Mm-hmm.
Luciano (26:21.536)
noticed the slap in the face of like the racism thing but like I thought the allegory was more like sometimes you need to not need but sometimes the thing you want is actually the thing that spells your ruin is a bit dramatic to say but I think that's how it was right
Spencer (26:44.328)
I I said, again, this to say it's a good movie, it's like everybody takes away kind of their own thing, even though it's like different versions of similar thing. But I think it does that, but I thought it was interesting, was like, the vampire is like, join us in this hive mind. And it's sort of like people who are like, want to culturally appropriate, it's like, we'll all be the same.
Luciano (26:50.744)
Something else? Yeah. Yeah.
Spencer (27:13.414)
You know, it's like, and we all will be one, but like they're like the pain and stuff that they went through created the blues, right? And it's like that it came from all this pain and suffering, but it made this unique identity. And it's like, you want us to like, if we like merge and join completely join like our that hive mind, which is like basically like let our culture be appropriated. It's like we lose.
Luciano (27:15.288)
Well, yeah.
Spencer (27:43.174)
that identity, you know, and that's like, it's we're willing to like die for it, you know, and that was kind of like the, I thought that was like the, the symbol of the, of the preacher son, like staying with the blues. was like, I'd rather like keep the pain, you know, and like, like keep that my identity, even though it's not the right thing to do or not the, you know,
Luciano (28:01.645)
Yeah.
Matt (28:07.537)
Well that's just it right? It's like in order to have your own identity and your own cultures part of it is you have to be able to willing to protect it but also you can't join you can't be fully a meshed as one you know sharing is good but you can't share everything or you can't share all the time otherwise you won't have your own identity.
Luciano (28:26.798)
Yeah. That's why I thought it was such an interesting, a clever choice of picking vampires, right? Because the whole idea of sucking something out of something else. Yeah. And I think the one, like the conversation that was the most striking to me was after Stack got turned and he talks to, he wants to convince Smoke to come and he says, you know, we were never going to be free. This way we can be free. So like it's to be free, you have to just join.
Spencer (28:36.464)
Yeah, sucking the lifeblood, you know?
Matt (28:49.182)
Yeah.
Luciano (28:56.231)
and disappear in the collective.
Spencer (28:59.196)
That's like at the ending he's like basically says like like Stax says to older preacher boy Sammy he's like he's like he's like you know that was like the that night was the freest we were and he's like basically like even even as a vampire he wasn't free basically you know he says that he's like he's like I never got to see the studies like that still and then like I almost saw it as like
Luciano (29:07.832)
Sammy, yeah.
Matt (29:08.83)
Yeah, absolutely.
Luciano (29:16.226)
Yeah.
Luciano (29:25.549)
Yeah.
Spencer (29:28.712)
He's like, I can keep you alive. can keep you, you know, you so you never feel pain or anything. And he's like, I'll keep my pain. Right. He's like, I thought he was going to say blues is the pain or something like that. You know, like that's.
Luciano (29:37.507)
Yeah.
Matt (29:38.207)
Well, it's aus
Yeah. But it's also, well, it's also the idea of like, in order to fit in with society and, and, you know, not be shunned, have to give up your freedom. Right. So it's like, yeah.
Luciano (29:52.942)
That was the way I saw it. Either you join and become another number, another part of the whole that is indistinguishable, or you're going to be singled out and punished for it. And the scene with Sammy at the end, it struck me. First of all, that's how you do a stinger, not some random shit. You actually let the time pass. But you would like...
Matt (29:56.767)
Okay.
Spencer (30:05.938)
to the Borg.
Spencer (30:19.954)
like to tell you about the blues initiative.
Luciano (30:22.606)
Yeah, yeah. But he says when Stack offers him to turn him, says, I think I've had enough of here, he says. And think about his life after that night even. He lived from the 30s to the 90s. Imagine how much he suffered, right? Like as a black man, as probably like as a musician, because you're not necessarily always successful as well, right?
Spencer (30:33.704)
Hmm.
Matt (30:33.777)
Yeah.
Spencer (30:42.536)
Mm-hmm.
Luciano (30:51.682)
So when he's like, you want to live like this forever? He's like, no, bitch, I'm out. I've lived my life. No, right?
Spencer (30:58.607)
And one of the best scenes of the movie and which like sums it up so well is uh What's the actor's name? Who's the vehicle of this movie? He's a piano player Yeah, dora del hondo like the scene where he's talking about he's in the car with him and he's like talking about how his friend got lynched in the in Just like they lynched him right there and then
Luciano (31:08.092)
D'orailindo.
Matt (31:08.425)
Delroy Lindo.
Luciano (31:17.525)
Yeah.
Spencer (31:24.584)
where he tells a story goes oh like it's almost like he's crying and it goes into like a melody like you it's like oh and it's like you basically it's like the perfect I don't know it was just like I thought that was such a good way of showing like how blues is born out of like the pain and I was like oh that's really cool I just thought that seems really good and this is you're listening to three guys talk about the birth of blues
Luciano (31:40.046)
Mmm.
Luciano (31:51.584)
Yeah, yeah, which seems like a allegory on this movie. Yeah. Yeah, I think like whoever wrote the screenplay, he made very clever choices. Because like I said, from a story perspective, didn't have to be vampires. Was it? he wrote as well. Yeah, so like it didn't have to be vampires from a...
Spencer (31:55.048)
Stick around, we'll be right back!
Matt (32:02.879)
Great job.
Matt (32:13.895)
Ryan, Ryan Googler.
Spencer (32:18.28)
That guy's good.
Luciano (32:21.518)
like any monster would have done. But the fact that he used something that, you know, the whole vampire legend or myth, is that something that doesn't have what he needs to survive and he has to be a predator to other humans and steal it, right? That's what they were doing. And yeah, so I didn't... I could have done without the...
Matt (32:38.335)
steal.
Spencer (32:42.418)
Perfect analogy.
Luciano (32:50.508)
river dance, but part of it, but it's like other than that.
Matt (32:53.535)
Well, but that's like, that's, that is part of the idea of like, they have their own culture, right? In the sense like, you know, if you're talking about the, the, the comparisons, like, you know, there is culture and they have their own music to share. They, we, us, the white people, the vampires, whoever. Um, and it's unique and it also sounds good and it's fun, but that's, that's the, the, the in, right? It's the, that's the insidiousness of it is like, we just want to share cultures, right?
Luciano (33:00.574)
yeah.
Luciano (33:20.3)
Yeah. But and Remick was from his account. He was in the same position when he got turned. Yeah, which tells you how old he was very fucking old. Yeah.
Matt (33:24.447)
Cough
Spencer (33:28.373)
Yeah, the Catholics.
Matt (33:30.207)
Yeah, I mean, that's a classic.
Spencer (33:31.957)
simulated hit. Yeah, at least like a thousand years old or something.
Matt (33:34.505)
Yeah.
But that's the classic, like, that's classic racism, right? Like being racist towards black people is just the new hot thing. Before it was like, you know, Catholics were Catholics and Protestants or the Irish were monsters or the Italians were the worst ones or whoever, whoever was the worst flavor of the day. Right.
Spencer (33:53.426)
banish inquisition
Luciano (33:55.19)
Yeah, especially with the religious thing is like the Catholics hated the Protestants, but then them together hated the Pagans. And then the Europeans together hated the Africans or the, like even the Scandinavians, right?
Spencer (34:12.57)
I mean, but the pagans, they had it right with that one.
Luciano (34:15.576)
Yeah.
Matt (34:17.341)
They were on it.
Luciano (34:18.54)
They were onto something.
Matt (34:20.093)
And then, and then the whites found Mormonism and God knows what's happening from there. let's, I think we've nailed this and I want to hard segue us into some of our fun questions. and I'm going to mention here, these are fun questions just because of that conversation. don't want you people to think that we had a very serious conversation in our monsters. We're monsters for many other reasons, but not this one specific thing. Not this one reason. So, I mean, let's ask, let's ask a simple question to get started. You know, little.
Luciano (34:41.794)
Yeah, not this reason yet.
Matt (34:49.127)
Museboosh, if you will. Speaking of booshes, one of these vampires is going to spit in your mouth.
Luciano (34:56.02)
fucking hell.
Spencer (34:56.328)
But why? Okay.
Matt (35:00.531)
They gots to. It's part of the vampire code. Which one do you pick?
Spencer (35:06.67)
I mean,
Luciano (35:08.344)
Can I? I have a point of clarification I want to make. Can I pick death? No? Fuck.
Matt (35:12.255)
That's yeah, fair. No. I said the question was one of them is going to do it.
Spencer (35:19.388)
Listen, the world is a fire with the talk of Hailey Steinfeld spitting in Michael B. Jordan's mouth. And I think many a fetish were born from this film. I perhaps being one of them, I may take a spitting in the mouth of Hailey Steinfeld if it meant an eternity being immortal with her. Pretty nice, pretty, pretty.
Luciano (35:25.742)
That could be Jordan's mouth.
Luciano (35:30.573)
I don't know.
Matt (35:31.199)
on both sides of the fence.
Luciano (35:35.438)
out
Matt (35:47.391)
Good that your wife doesn't listen to this podcast.
Spencer (35:48.68)
Didn't I? It's just goddamn right you don't.
Luciano (35:51.156)
hahahaha
Spencer (35:55.467)
Um, yeah, I mean, come on, let's get a little freaky. Just couple vampires, baby.
Matt (36:02.833)
I'm gonna make it not weird and pick Michael B Jordan.
Luciano (36:05.988)
yeah, that's not weird.
Spencer (36:05.99)
Mike will be spittin'.
Matt (36:10.259)
You know what's up.
Spencer (36:10.311)
He's the Michael Jordan of spittin' in Matt's mouth.
Matt (36:15.337)
Yeah
Spencer (36:17.042)
Ha
Matt (36:18.399)
You took it personally.
Spencer (36:19.464)
I mean it's good answer but wait wait would you take stack or would you take smoke?
Luciano (36:19.629)
Yeah.
Matt (36:23.167)
That's, yep.
Luciano (36:27.598)
good question. Well, smoke's not a vampire though.
Matt (36:29.683)
question.
Spencer (36:31.452)
That doesn't matter. You said character. This isn't about vampirism. This is purely sexual.
Matt (36:33.097)
cares? No, I said, I did say vampire.
Luciano (36:33.111)
Wait, what?
Luciano (36:38.446)
Yeah, but we have to keep within the boundaries of the game so that it doesn't seem so sexual.
Spencer (36:45.414)
Matt's like, Ryan Gosling.
Matt (36:47.611)
Hahaha
Luciano (36:47.849)
Hahaha!
Yeah.
Spencer (36:53.094)
I you gotta tell us. Smoker stack, what did you just fucking pick to have an aneurysm? You're fantasizing. It's a good answer. I didn't see that coming.
Matt (36:53.247)
what am I answering? What question? smokers tag. both. got him. Didn't see me doing that. Major Pascal. sorry. Next question. Next question. Moving on. Yeah.
Luciano (37:01.954)
Both.
Spencer (37:11.184)
I hate your basket
No, she was the original Hawk to a girl by the way
Luciano (37:17.164)
Yes, please.
Luciano (37:23.352)
She was doing it in 1930.
Spencer (37:24.21)
She spit on that thing. That thing meant your mouth back in the day.
Matt (37:28.671)
Yeah. So once they figure out vampires are attacking and they figure out the rule that vampires can't enter unless they're asked to, they should be good for them to hold up the night. Unfortunately, as happens in all movies, Lisa Chao blows it for everybody.
Luciano (37:51.212)
Yes. Yes. Damn you, Grace!
Spencer (37:51.257)
At all movies. Damn you!
Matt (37:53.631)
There's always one person who's like, we just, we just, we just have to not.
Spencer (37:56.744)
No, it's always a list of chow.
Luciano (38:00.302)
She cameos in movies to invite vampires in.
Matt (38:01.471)
Lisa, Lisa Chow, not Elizabeth, but sure. You made her Elizabeth Chow. think, isn't that our mayor? Was Olivia Chow? Who knows? Yeah, that's fine. Anyways, it's, it's. All these people are real people. Jesus.
Spencer (38:03.752)
What did I say? Olivia Chow Olivia Chow can spit in my mouth, Yeah, we're taking the actors. Do you have my vote?
Luciano (38:10.71)
Yes, Olivia, Olivia, ciao.
Luciano (38:17.806)
No, that's a real person. You can't get her to do it probably.
Matt (38:30.712)
Anyway, wait. Yeah. Cause grace was the young one, right?
Luciano (38:34.541)
yeah, what's her name in the movie? Is that Grace? Grace is the child, you're right.
Matt (38:38.695)
No, yeah, Grace is the child. Yeah. So no, it's Lisa. That's what I'm saying. The movie. Yeah. The actress is Helen, who, and then Yao plays Bo Chow and then Legion Lee plays Grace. Anyways, she blows it for everybody. And so now the party's on. The revivals are coming.
Luciano (38:41.939)
it's Lisa? Okay.
Luciano (38:57.784)
Yes.
Matt (39:03.293)
I think there are some areas for improvement in how they defended the juke joint. And so I'm wondering what you guys think they could have done better to, so that not everybody died.
Luciano (39:15.096)
Well for one pickled more garlic because like they had the one jar come on
Matt (39:20.893)
Yeah, it takes like five minutes, right?
Luciano (39:23.628)
Well, no. We're not going to go there again.
Matt (39:25.681)
I'm... Alright, I'll give you 10 minutes.
Luciano (39:31.406)
Okay, what else do they have done? Okay, he's killing Lisa before she lets them in a choice because that would have been ideal.
Matt (39:44.381)
I mean, that probably makes you worse than the monsters.
Luciano (39:48.046)
Why? Kill one person to save like what? 10 inside? 7? I like that. Let's just change the trolley test to the vampire test. No, how many humans you want to let the vampires eat?
Matt (39:49.438)
Really, why?
This isn't fucking the trolley test, like that's not how humanity works.
Matt (40:01.938)
How many vampires do want to run over?
Matt (40:07.357)
Wow, okay, you're the real monster. You're the real villain of this movie.
Luciano (40:09.728)
Yes, sure.
Spencer (40:11.9)
You're the real white person.
Luciano (40:14.094)
That's also true.
Matt (40:15.869)
that power.
Luciano (40:17.015)
Hahaha
Matt (40:19.891)
But yeah, so Spencer, you're suspiciously silent. Are you thinking up the answers? Like one thing I'm... That's fair.
Luciano (40:24.407)
He's thinking of Hayley Stenfield, that's what he's doing.
Spencer (40:26.824)
I'm drooling like a vampire.
Matt (40:33.751)
yeah, I'm the gross one. Fuck you, Spencer. One, one it is except for that. one of the things I noticed obviously is, they seem to have, smoking stock seemed to have been allowed to take their like army kit. Like that's what he uses to, to mow down all of the racist, Kiki. I don't know why I said racist and the clients people. It's yes, it's pretty self-explanatory. Yeah.
Spencer (40:35.302)
Hey, this is a judge free zone.
Luciano (40:55.624)
The clans people.
Spencer (40:57.416)
That's pretty some explanatory no, no, no, these will racist KKK members not your regular type
Luciano (41:00.428)
Yeah.
Yeah.
Matt (41:05.939)
I don't know, actor racist. But like, I'm surprised that they didn't have any weapons, in case the KKK came, like, at night.
Luciano (41:19.192)
Yeah, I mean they had like pistols and stuff, but that was it, right?
Matt (41:23.005)
Yeah, I guess they figured that'd be enough, but I don't know, like...
Spencer (41:25.266)
Did they not have those Tommy guns on site with them?
Luciano (41:30.444)
No, he had it in the stash somewhere, think. Smoke.
Matt (41:31.153)
Think so. Yeah. Because he dug it out or from wherever it was the next day.
Luciano (41:38.318)
Yeah, at the end of the movie. And he had like grenades in there and everything.
Spencer (41:44.624)
I mean, they had some guns, they could handle themselves. They're military men. I mean, but yeah, I think that's a good point. They probably should have prepared for horrible people to do horrible things.
Matt (41:58.919)
It's like should they practice stabbing mistakes because they seem like to be not good at it as a whole unit.
Luciano (42:07.085)
Yeah.
Spencer (42:08.424)
I thought they did okay, no? With the staking? Yeah, they...
Luciano (42:10.542)
No, they didn't.
Matt (42:13.503)
I Lisa, Olivia, Elizabeth Chow, like, I mean, think she just chose death.
Luciano (42:14.978)
Like for it.
Luciano (42:20.728)
Yeah, mean, Annie was the same thing. What's her name? The singer. Primaline or something like that.
Matt (42:31.441)
Yeah.
Luciano (42:32.718)
Perling, yes, Perling. She went to stab Remick when he was trying to get to Atsemi. She stabbed him in the shoulder, not even, not a little bit in the shoulder, just straight in the shoulder.
Matt (42:41.503)
Not yeah
Spencer (42:45.788)
Listen, not everyone knows where the heart is.
Luciano (42:48.334)
Anatomy classes were a thing back then
Spencer (42:51.879)
Yeah. I mean, I don't think they even knew where the art was back then.
Matt (42:56.233)
What?
Spencer (42:59.324)
look into it. They didn't find out where the heart was until 1992.
Luciano (42:59.886)
Who's date?
Matt (43:02.931)
Yeah, who's they?
Luciano (43:03.596)
What the fuck are you talking about? What are you going on about?
Spencer (43:06.641)
Bookabere.
Matt (43:09.779)
Wikipedia existed in 1992. wikipedia. Call it withdrawn, then that makes total sense. All right. Well, Spencer, your answer sucked and I'm moving on.
Spencer (43:22.701)
That's fair. I didn't have good answers get all the gold
Matt (43:25.855)
Hey, Hey, let's, let's get into this. This one might take a while. So we better start now. It's fine. It's just, it's just, I think it's just a lot of, of answer to be given stack and Mary, end up escaping as we find out in the stinger, they escape and they've lived a life on of it seemed by all accounts, a fun life as
Luciano (43:33.189)
no.
Luciano (43:41.104)
Matt (43:54.633)
vampires can have. Yeah, it's pretty sick life.
Spencer (43:55.496)
based on his forefinger ring. Seemed like a pretty awesome life. That said, stack on it.
Luciano (44:02.304)
He said stack on it, but only for him to read not for the person he was punching. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah
Spencer (44:06.054)
Yeah.
Matt (44:06.355)
That's right. It's important that only you read it. like what else, other than getting that four-fingered ring, what else do you think happened?
Spencer (44:08.722)
and
Spencer (44:13.096)
Which of course Luciano would take months? Years.
Matt (44:18.173)
years.
Luciano (44:18.194)
But they had time because they're immortal. So it's Yeah, that's fine they had they had 60 they had 60 years so that's
Matt (44:20.991)
25 years. They had to drive so far. What else did they do besides the driving?
Spencer (44:24.764)
There's so much driving!
Matt (44:35.571)
Cause they went from Mississippi to Chicago, right? Yeah. Back to Chicago.
Luciano (44:39.256)
Chicago, yeah.
Luciano (44:43.822)
What did they do? A whole lot of spitting probably.
Matt (44:48.511)
Spencer, Spencer, we're doing a podcast. This is tough thinking about the spinning.
Spencer (44:50.194)
Sorry. Now, I know, yeah. Come again, please. Yes. No, no, I know the question. I didn't hear the spinning.
Matt (44:57.501)
With what, the question? What? Jesus, what?
It's.
Spencer (45:06.086)
I had a, sorry, important, important spit-related emergency. Well, after he got his ring.
Matt (45:08.305)
You
Luciano (45:18.796)
Wait, when did you get his ring?
Spencer (45:21.296)
in 1931.
Luciano (45:23.502)
a year before, nice.
Spencer (45:25.416)
Yeah, before the events of this film is way is way ahead of the curve I Mean I like to say in my in my head cannon they they left this and they were like Huh, I I no longer want to dance Irish jigs
Matt (45:27.551)
sweet.
Luciano (45:29.152)
It took a year to make it. I see.
Matt (45:38.163)
Mm-hmm.
Luciano (45:47.971)
You
Spencer (45:49.668)
And therefore I feel more like myself again. know, I assume his like, yeah, the death of Remick made them free to do what they want, which is pretty sweet.
Matt (46:01.715)
in a way.
Spencer (46:05.116)
What do mean? They couldn't go in the sun,
Matt (46:06.578)
They're, yeah, they have to have to live off of the blood of innocence. Well, people, I'm assuming, you know, that's fair. Don't, I'm not going to imply it. We don't know, but they are vampires.
Spencer (46:12.562)
Was that even said in this movie? Do they have to, I mean...
Spencer (46:21.54)
It didn't feel like these vampires were biting for food, more they were biting to infect. That was the vibe I got.
Luciano (46:26.69)
Yeah, that's it felt like.
Matt (46:27.454)
Okay, so that's fair, but then like, did they make a coven? Is that the right word? Yeah, that's right.
Luciano (46:34.914)
Sure, why not.
Spencer (46:35.792)
A sex coven?
Matt (46:37.502)
Vampire Coven, if you want to make it a sex coven that could also be a thing. Jesus.
Spencer (46:39.764)
Jared Leto in Georgia. Swish. I'm the Michael B. Jordan of basketball. No, so I think that they got out of there and then they were like, we gotta, you know, I think he was still on the run from the mob. Michael B. Jordan.
Luciano (46:41.898)
no.
Luciano (46:54.382)
Yeah, sounds about right.
Matt (46:56.978)
Jesus
Matt (47:07.516)
Michael B.
Spencer (47:09.158)
So that's the next movie right there. Michael B Jordan versus the Irish and, and, Italian mobs as a vampire.
Luciano (47:10.638)
Michael, Michael be running.
Matt (47:21.064)
Would you, would you say if you combine the Italian and Irish mobs together, it would be like, like a mythical bull creature?
Spencer (47:30.93)
Like a Griffith?
Matt (47:32.83)
I'm like a bull.
Spencer (47:35.12)
Okay
Matt (47:38.398)
Cause I want to know if it was Michael B Jordan versus the Chicago Bulls. That's all I'm asking.
Spencer (47:42.696)
Okay, I see wait, why is he versus them he's a star player Yeah, he's a Well, that was when he was working with the gangs he was playing with bulls it's all symbolism so you we can write this stuff we're We are just as good as a Googler Googler Googler
Luciano (47:43.438)
I see. I see.
Matt (47:46.654)
I know, the Chicago Bulls in this case are the Irish and the, yeah.
Luciano (47:50.018)
Yeah, played there for a long time.
Matt (47:59.986)
Yeah. So you were writing it, you're basically, you're, constructing a, a, shit.
Luciano (48:07.33)
Ryan Kubler, yes. Yeah. You know what's not good? Matt's Interactive Action. Yes. Yeah. We should wait.
Spencer (48:11.91)
Matt is a... looks like a scary demon.
Spencer (48:20.015)
well yeah, let's wait for him. Sorry. got, I'm getting this work pop-ups.
Luciano (48:35.118)
Well, heat drop.
Spencer (49:08.091)
He said he lost internet.
Luciano (49:09.634)
Yep, I saw it.
Matt (50:52.446)
.
Luciano (51:43.854)
It's gonna suck if his internet doesn't come back.
Luciano (52:51.384)
Cough
Luciano (56:06.092)
Yes, meeting was cancelled.
Matt (56:11.19)
Perfect.
Luciano (56:12.779)
fuck, it's not the one tomorrow though.
Matt (56:14.891)
Yep.
Luciano (56:16.654)
We're good?
Matt (56:17.804)
yeah, I think so. What, I actually kept the timestamp this time. That's nice to see.
Luciano (56:24.458)
I was gonna say it was like, it was 48.
Matt (56:26.376)
No, I wrote it down, but like at the top of my screen, it still has the actual recording time. didn't reset on my end finally. I guess. Yeah. Maybe. Yeah. Spencer.
Luciano (56:31.527)
guess because we didn't drop and I'm logged in as you so maybe that's why.
Spencer (56:39.694)
Yep, sorry. Just do your work thing.
Matt (56:49.708)
I'm just going to pick back up on the conversation around creating the center verse.
Matt (56:58.7)
Whenever Spencer's finally got a job.
Matt (57:13.196)
Are you good?
Matt (57:19.532)
Alright, here we go.
start again.
Matt (57:41.26)
So really what you're talking about is like some sort of sinner verse, I'm not mistaken, Spencer?
Spencer (57:47.258)
It's called the cinematic universe.
Matt (57:50.188)
Why does Maddock have to be in there? Why are you a monster?
Luciano (57:50.414)
Yeah, I hate it.
Spencer (57:53.34)
because it's cinematic cinematic
Matt (57:55.98)
Okay, well you know what, you let me do the Chicago Bulls thing, so I'm letting you go with this.
Luciano (57:56.203)
No.
Spencer (57:58.0)
you get on the train you get on the train now or you get off and hit the station because we're going to the moon with the cinematic universe.
Matt (58:02.954)
Yeah, I'm on the train. I'm on the train. I already said you let me do my Chicago Bulls thing. I support your cinematic universe.
Spencer (58:10.408)
That's what we call a deal.
Luciano (58:10.83)
So you were saying that the sequel was gonna be Michael B running from the mob, is that what it is?
Spencer (58:19.728)
Yes, so that they set that up perfectly. So he's now on the run, not on the run. I mean, yes, on the run. But, you know, and then obviously he has to take out the Irish mob and the main villain of the movie is Al Capone. Fucking. Yeah. Yeah, but they worked for Al Capone.
Luciano (58:28.29)
Yeah.
Luciano (58:37.39)
Okay, who's Italian, but okay.
Matt (58:37.9)
It's like it's like an untouchable situation.
Luciano (58:44.905)
in that sense, okay.
Spencer (58:46.758)
Yeah, he's the one chasing them. So, so this is all phase one of the cinematic universe. So Al Capone, it shows their story of how they have to take down the mob. Meanwhile, there is also the natives who hunt vampires.
Matt (59:00.982)
me well.
Luciano (59:09.746)
yes, Choctaw Vampire Hunter. That's the name of the movie. Yeah.
Spencer (59:11.09)
That's also the Chocked Out Vampire Hunters is a separate movie where we set up another character who gets infected as well who also becomes immortal who they will eventually meet in the round. I'm going to say the 1970s.
Luciano (59:28.696)
Okay.
Spencer (59:30.566)
And that's when we're going to have our Sinners end game take place.
Luciano (59:36.29)
Is the showdown with Al Capone?
Spencer (59:40.904)
Al Capone dies at the end of Part 2 of 3.
Matt (59:46.592)
does he?
Luciano (59:50.518)
And Al Capone was a werewolf all along, right? Of course.
Spencer (59:54.246)
No, we're not going to introduce werewolves until the 1950s.
Luciano (59:59.054)
OK, so it was all. That's why I'm asking questions.
Matt (01:00:00.586)
the share or keep up.
Spencer (01:00:02.087)
Yeah.
but we're gonna keep it historical, you know, adjacent. Yeah, so it's, you know, he is the first werewolf from the 1950s is gonna be McCarthy.
Luciano (01:00:07.906)
Historically accurate.
Spencer (01:00:20.518)
the birth of McCarthyism.
Luciano (01:00:20.524)
Okay. Okay.
Matt (01:00:22.432)
Right. So wait, is communism code for vampirism? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nice. Yep. You got it.
Spencer (01:00:28.412)
Yeah, like red, you know, with the reds, the blood, because it's all going to be very, you know, interwoven with a lot of subtext until Michael B. Jordan goes to space. That's when the franchise is purely about making money. And there's no subtlety Yes, Michael B. Flyin.
Luciano (01:00:28.492)
Yeah, red as blood. Yeah, red like blood.
Matt (01:00:42.188)
Right, but, and that was in the 60s, right?
Luciano (01:00:42.396)
Yeah, that's gonna be, Mike will be flying.
Luciano (01:00:50.284)
Yeah, or Mike will be tripping. that could be a double. That could be a double entundment.
Spencer (01:00:56.196)
Yeah, yeah, he's on the he is on the moon spaceship Apollo 11
Luciano (01:01:04.718)
Apollo 11, yeah. No, he's on Apollo 10, the one that actually made it to the moon.
Matt (01:01:10.944)
Yeah. He, they filmed it because of racism.
Spencer (01:01:11.88)
Mm.
Luciano (01:01:16.141)
Yeah.
Spencer (01:01:17.042)
They did fake the moon landing, but they filmed it with Apollo 10. On the moon.
Matt (01:01:18.58)
Yes. Yep. Yep. They had to replace, they couldn't let people know that the vampire made it to the moon first.
Luciano (01:01:20.387)
Yes.
Spencer (01:01:26.93)
Yeah.
Luciano (01:01:27.752)
They weren't too concerned about him being a vampire, let's be honest. I see. I see. He was one of the reds, is what you're saying.
Spencer (01:01:30.692)
Yeah, exactly. And the main villain of that one. Yeah. And Neil Armstrong is going to be the main villain and he's going to be left in space. And eventually be set up as our Thanos.
Matt (01:01:31.601)
I'm using allegory and code.
huh, yeah.
Luciano (01:01:44.408)
Okay.
Luciano (01:01:47.766)
I see.
Matt (01:01:49.324)
Are you saying Neil Armstrong is some sort of wizard?
Spencer (01:01:54.268)
Matt, come be serious. Neil Armstrong.
Matt (01:01:56.108)
I guess, like a grand, like a grand space wizard.
Spencer (01:02:02.64)
I like what you're putting down.
Matt (01:02:04.064)
Like not actually like, like the, the, the cosmic entity takes over Neil Armstrong. Neil Armstrong, the American hero is not a grand wizard, but this, this, this cosmic entity that's name will be three names long, all starting with K potentially.
Spencer (01:02:10.46)
Yeah.
No, no, of course not.
Luciano (01:02:21.176)
Yes. Cosmic Creature, That's his name.
Spencer (01:02:28.846)
Cosmic creation Kevin is going we have three days till the cosmic creation Kevin arrives And then the every time when he's coming the moon is getting bigger and bigger and the moon is white So it's like every day. It's getting whiter and whiter Symbolism
Matt (01:02:29.557)
Yeah. Yeah.
Luciano (01:02:32.472)
Cosmic creature Kevin. Yeah.
Luciano (01:02:44.608)
I see.
Yeah, very subtle.
Matt (01:02:49.462)
Great. No, this is all really helpful. do have, because we're like, it's important in every movie that, you know, you see the heroes grow. And so I'm curious what other vampires, Michael B. Jordan and Haley Steinfeld are going to gain as they, you know, proceed through this story arc.
Spencer (01:02:49.512)
It's very subtle.
Luciano (01:03:17.186)
Well, as they move through the years and the decades, they can't just be able to play 1930s music. they learn by osmosis all types of music and dances and jigs. Suck the... Yes, of course. Exactly what I meant. Yeah. Allegory.
Matt (01:03:32.32)
You mean by osmosis they like eat people? okay. Yeah, just checking. Yeah, thank you.
Spencer (01:03:39.922)
I mean they have to feed on people potentially and when they do they get all their musical ability.
Matt (01:03:44.533)
Yeah, they spit.
Spencer (01:03:47.208)
That's not what we said. But they do.
Luciano (01:03:47.438)
Yeah, that's that's where that's where the slang speeding bars comes from
Spencer (01:03:54.578)
it comes from the vampires.
Luciano (01:03:56.334)
From, yeah. You started it.
Matt (01:03:57.133)
I hate it. I hate it so much.
Spencer (01:03:59.132)
And but also side note, Hailey Steinfeld does spit acid.
Luciano (01:04:04.776)
wait, wait what? I see, I see.
Spencer (01:04:07.112)
And she's developed that power.
Matt (01:04:07.478)
But she's developed the power. Yeah. Yeah. Makes sense. No. Sure. Obviously. Okay.
Spencer (01:04:11.304)
She didn't have it right away. She was practicing.
Luciano (01:04:16.886)
Mm-hmm. What is what is what is Mary doing in the the cinematic universe? when Michael be doing all these other things
Spencer (01:04:28.53)
She's there. She's on the team. She always has the catchphrases.
Luciano (01:04:31.118)
Are you saying she's a secondary character? That's very cosmic creature Kevin of you.
Spencer (01:04:34.918)
No, she's the heart of our story. That's what, she's the, how dare you?
Matt (01:04:40.972)
He's got a point at no point did you mention Mary in all of her stories
Luciano (01:04:47.895)
Yeah.
Spencer (01:04:50.588)
Mary is the heart and soul of our story. Which is what they say whenever they relegate the woman to a B line. The B character who just worries.
Matt (01:04:52.732)
Okay, okay, Kevin. Yeah, that's fine. Once we're done with the mainline cinematic universe, we'll do a one-off story for her.
Luciano (01:04:56.236)
Yeah.
Spencer (01:05:03.848)
Yeah. No, Mary's gonna get way too late and it's gonna take place before. Yeah, smart. And we'll call it Black Widow. Nope.
Luciano (01:05:06.498)
Way, way too late when nobody wants to see it. Yeah.
Matt (01:05:08.596)
Yeah, yeah.
Luciano (01:05:17.644)
Yeah, I was gonna I was gonna try I was gonna try but it's just okay Yeah, she's a black widow cuz she marries she marries men and kills them for their blood. Of course, of course
Matt (01:05:18.252)
Hahaha!
Matt (01:05:25.516)
haha
Spencer (01:05:28.674)
Exactly. can see it in the lights.
Matt (01:05:28.948)
Right. Yeah. Yeah. But like
Just to be clear, we're going to go back, we're going go in the backstory. Too far. No, but like, we're not going to go so far back that it covers like her and Stack's relationship when they were humans. Stack, if I can be Jordan, is nowhere near this project. She has to be on her own to shine. He's too expensive now.
Luciano (01:05:36.696)
to Russia where she comes from.
Spencer (01:05:38.44)
No, no, that's too much, come on.
Luciano (01:05:46.166)
No, no, no.
Spencer (01:05:51.74)
We could not get him.
Luciano (01:05:53.39)
But then we find out that she has vampire cousins that we never heard of before.
Spencer (01:05:55.367)
Yeah.
Matt (01:05:58.336)
Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof!
Spencer (01:06:01.65)
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
Luciano (01:06:03.2)
And then she has to at some point in the Sinner's Endgame, she has to die. And then one of the cousins takes over. Yeah. As Mary. Her name is also Mary. Her cousin's name is also Mary. So she takes over.
Spencer (01:06:11.9)
takes over.
Yeah, and we'll replace Michael B. Jordan's character's stack because he's too expensive, but we'll get smoke to replace him.
Luciano (01:06:26.11)
Wait, what? I was with you until the very end!
Spencer (01:06:27.144)
It's fine! We don't have the budget for stack.
Matt (01:06:27.705)
Ha
That's right.
Matt (01:06:37.63)
I'm sure by this point there'll be a Michael C or Michael D Jordan that can take over. All right. Earl LeBron can do it. That's fine too.
Luciano (01:06:40.854)
Yeah, Michael, Michael, yeah.
Spencer (01:06:40.964)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we'll just guys we'll just get Michael Jordan
Luciano (01:06:45.358)
You would do it.
Spencer (01:06:47.048)
Was this some kind of vampire fight? That's Shaq- That's Shaquille O'Neal. Was this some of vampire fight?
Luciano (01:06:51.854)
damn.
Matt (01:06:54.06)
Let's listen. We're going to move on from you impersonating black characters. Yeah, but you were trying to do Michael Jordan.
Luciano (01:06:56.334)
Maybe, yeah, I was gonna say Shaq can do it.
Luciano (01:07:05.537)
Yes, yes, please.
Spencer (01:07:06.15)
I can do Shaq! Shaq's his own thing.
That's true and that I should be canceled for
Luciano (01:07:18.99)
Stop! Stop! Get help!
Matt (01:07:22.444)
Speaking of things, speaking of things we probably shouldn't talk about we're gonna do it anyways. Spencer mentioned the Choctaw, Mississippi Choctaw tribe having their own movie, but I also think there's a different way we can look at them. I'm thinking that they, maybe in the movie itself, they have, because they are very good at their craft, they have had their own Twitch channel. It's the Mississippi Choctaw Vampire Hunters Twitch channel and I want to know what I would find on the Twitch channel.
Luciano (01:07:53.326)
Spencer (01:07:55.698)
There's gotta be good. There's gonna be like most twitch channels. It's gonna be like, you know, I'm holding my phone up for the audio Hey guys, it's me Chuck the vampire hunter I'm not doing a native voice
Matt (01:08:06.826)
Yeah, good, safe.
Luciano (01:08:07.118)
It's just a white dude first of all it's just a white dude that that no no I know it's just a white dude that that Pretends to be Choctaw, but he's not that It's legit is this legit, okay, okay?
Matt (01:08:11.724)
Yeah
Matt (01:08:16.876)
I think, no, I think that they take this very seriously. It is legit. It's 100 % legit. In cinematic world, we're going to take this 100 % serious.
Luciano (01:08:26.7)
Right. So that would be like, they would be the ones sort of telling the truth, you know, despite the powers that be trying to, trying to hide it from the populace. But they would be the ones saying, this, we're going to, we're going to walk into a coven of vampires right now. We're going to show you that it's true. And then from afar, you just listen, you just hear an Irish jig playing. They go, well, we hit the jackpot with this one.
Matt (01:08:28.47)
Continue.
Matt (01:08:41.248)
Yes.
Spencer (01:08:55.538)
Hey guys, Blaze here from the Jack the Tunker tribe. Today we're gonna show you how to make a professional steak for taking out the vampires that are causing you trouble. This is sponsored by BetterHelp and Hewell Protein Powder.
Luciano (01:08:57.454)
No, no, no, no, no, no,
Luciano (01:09:09.655)
no.
Luciano (01:09:13.4)
Honey. It's sponsored by honey.
Matt (01:09:15.756)
No, but I think specials on something because I think the it's like the real Shocked of vampire hunters Do not ever come on the channel, but it is a means to the end they need to fund money to fund their continual actual pursuit so it is someone who is Twitch twitch adept if you will Helping them so it's all yeah, it's helping keep the the
Luciano (01:09:26.766)
Luciano (01:09:30.574)
Oh I see what you mean. So it's like an adjacent, someone adjacent to them.
Luciano (01:09:42.21)
Well then the channel's name is probably Choctaw Fans. Or... Official Choctaw Fans.
Matt (01:09:46.954)
It's an official, yeah, yeah.
Spencer (01:09:50.706)
Hey guys this is Blaze from Chucktuff fans. While I take my shirt off I'm gonna show you how to set a trap for vampires, okay? So, when you're setting a trap, this is sponsored by Honey, which I will lather all over my naked body for $9.99 a month, Blaze out. Is that pretty accurate?
Matt (01:10:01.548)
haha
Luciano (01:10:02.553)
Yeah, yeah, I can see that.
Luciano (01:10:08.066)
Hahaha.
Matt (01:10:10.028)
the
Matt (01:10:16.148)
I think that's pretty accurate. And there's definitely like another person on the feed that's a woman who is, you know, pickling garlic, adding garlic to pretty much everything. Trying more herbal, down-to-earth, natural remedies to prevent vampirism.
Luciano (01:10:23.98)
Yes.
Luciano (01:10:30.498)
They also sell like merch, all their merch is laced with garlic. So they have like t-shirts with garlic, not just garlic symbols, but like just garlic in the fabric. Yeah, exactly.
Matt (01:10:41.268)
It's made, the fabric is garlic fabric. They've crafted the design, specially designed garlic fabric. Yeah.
Spencer (01:10:47.272)
patent is pending. It happened 100 years ago, but it's pending. It's so close.
Luciano (01:10:49.154)
Yeah. Yeah.
Matt (01:10:52.384)
Yeah, okay. No, I think we nailed it
Spencer (01:10:57.692)
Hey guys, me Blaze here talking about our new merch, the garlic infused t-shirts, we have the tank tops, we also got the new Nike high tops all infused with our patent pending. This is Legal Issues, I'm not a lawyer, Blaze out!
Luciano (01:11:16.366)
This is not medical advice, but I hear if you take our chocked out garlic supplement, protects you against vampires and against erectile dysfunction, both.
Spencer (01:11:18.898)
You
Matt (01:11:20.275)
What.
Matt (01:11:25.046)
This is the thing I was gonna ask is, what is the name of the patented garlic infusion or the garlic, you you gotta have a trendy brand name. Like it is made of garlic, but you have to have a brand name, right, so when you go buy it.
Luciano (01:11:39.331)
Mmm, a-only-where.
Spencer (01:11:47.208)
GARTEX
Luciano (01:11:49.373)

Luciano (01:12:24.863)
This episode is kindly sponsored by Mamas Pizza.
Matt (01:12:29.942)
No further questions. I think we've done all we can do here. Let's move on to our review as always. SDR, S-Hi, F-Lowest, you know the drill. Spencer, why don't you give us a grade.
Luciano (01:12:30.19)
Yeah.
Spencer (01:12:31.656)
You
Spencer (01:12:45.874)
Hey, please! It's me, Spencer! To give my review! God. We're so cooked. This obviously, as you can tell, I think I like this movie quite a bit. You know, if you had told me ahead of time that I would be watching a vampire movie and the vampires wouldn't arrive till like halfway through the movie.
Matt (01:12:46.996)
you
Luciano (01:12:47.95)
Hahaha!
Luciano (01:12:53.358)
Ha
Luciano (01:12:57.454)
Hahaha!
Spencer (01:13:14.832)
I'd be like, probably be like, man. But I was almost like that disappointed that the vampires ride, but it was almost like, it was like, yeah. Like they did such a good job of like, just like making these characters so good that you were like invested in it. It's almost like they could use the vampires as like a trick to get general audiences into the movie. It's like, it's a fun vampire movie. Then you get in and then like, wait, this is like just a good movie. And it's like,
Matt (01:13:39.199)
Yep.
Spencer (01:13:44.188)
with way more themes and and like depth and stuff. just really good movie. mean, I'm going to give it an A. It's pretty close to S. But I feel like before I can give it an S, I have to maybe watch it again.
But, cause I don't know if I got everything. Like it just was, it felt like there was a lot in there, you know? And the Swiss cheese brain. So they fall through the holes. Yeah, exactly. Well, I get fooled quite easily. No sir. That's my wallet. Okay. If you say so.
Matt (01:14:11.531)
Yeah.
Matt (01:14:15.692)
That's a real I I famously don't because I know exactly who I go to movies with so
Luciano (01:14:21.524)
Yeah.
Matt (01:14:28.424)
Here you are!
Luciano (01:14:29.89)
Hahaha!
Spencer (01:14:33.864)
But yeah, it's tough being Blaze. But yeah, for me and go Blaze! 20 % off the Gartex.
Luciano (01:14:34.154)
It's the perils of being blaze of Twitch. Yeah.
Matt (01:14:39.04)
Yeah
Matt (01:14:47.268)
Let's see, don't know. What do you got?
Luciano (01:14:52.59)
So I, I mean, when we decided to do this movie, you guys both hyped it up a lot. And so I did go in with the, you did, you guys said, okay. So, yes, I think we're all Swiss in here. We're all and tall in this hour. Anyway, all five of you hyped it up really, really high. So I went in with,
Spencer (01:15:00.572)
I didn't say anything.
Matt (01:15:01.708)
I just said I did because I had seen it he didn't. You also have the Swiss cheese. Yeah.
Spencer (01:15:05.188)
I even seen it yet, I watched it like a day ago! We all suffer from the Swiss cheese brain.
Luciano (01:15:21.976)
a lot of expectations. And I'm not gonna, it didn't like let me down, but you know, like when you go in with high expectations, it kind of takes it away a little bit. But I was almost like, I almost didn't want for that to be vampires. Cause I was enjoying that setup so much, of learning, like learning about these characters as they went around way too fast, recruiting all of them to make their club. But like just.
Spencer (01:15:47.88)
You
Luciano (01:15:51.294)
Even like, arguably everyone except for Sammy and the twins were side characters. But they all got such good characterization. They weren't like cardboard cutouts of characters. They were like real actual lived-in characters. And I was almost like, now we're going to go into the action. And surprisingly, we did go, but it wasn't just the action. I thought it was just going to be like a...
Spencer (01:16:05.04)
L-Lived in.
Spencer (01:16:11.805)
Yeah.
Luciano (01:16:19.854)
30 days of whatever moon ride, I don't remember the name of the movie, where it just like, it hits and like it's just, yeah, yeah, it's really weird, it's like the ad now. But it's like, I thought it was gonna go like set up, set up, set up and all action, all of them fighting and all that stuff. And it wasn't, they used, as we discussed, they use it as like symbolism. Honestly, when I finished watching, I was like,
Spencer (01:16:26.322)
This swiss cheese brain is falling apart as we speak.
Matt (01:16:28.3)
Yeah, yeah.
Luciano (01:16:49.826)
You I expected a little bit more so I was leaning towards a B but like talking with you guys about it and thinking about it after watching it actually made me enjoy it more and it Yeah, it being its own original thing is actually It's singed is it for me. It's it's an a also I Gave have a could be and this is way better than have which I could not have given it the same the same rating So hey, it's a solid a for
Spencer (01:17:00.447)
I found a thought about it after a lot too.
Spencer (01:17:15.144)
That's fair.
Matt (01:17:15.894)
Yeah.
Matt (01:17:20.972)
I'm going to do a sweep of the board with the A. You know, it's very rare that I come out of a movie thinking about the movie and like thinking about like the different things that happened into it. Right. And so I think that's for me where it puts it to a day. I'm like Spencer. I'm like, it could be an essay. You know, other S movies we've given it's because I've seen it more than once and I've been able to like understand it all and put it all together. And so it's, it's, it sucks in the case of centers where we do it so quickly that I didn't have the chance to rewatch it. But
It certainly is a fun movie. It's an interesting concept. It balances the action with like, like I said, the music is really good and it all feels really well put together and well acted, which, really helps to, to combine it all. you know, maybe it's because we rarely watch actually good movies on this podcast. I don't know, but when you see one, it's really nice. And so I'm really happy that we did. So I'll give it the same A for, you know, all the same reasons.
Luciano (01:18:10.549)
Yeah.
Spencer (01:18:16.338)
But party took too long to happen, so D. Unrealistic party planning, zero out of five.
Matt (01:18:19.84)
Yeah. Party's unrealistic.
Luciano (01:18:19.982)
It didn't take long enough, you're misunderstanding me. It needed to take longer.
Matt (01:18:29.269)
I expect to be a clock with the running hours of the actual real movie to know exactly how fast things are going or slow.
Luciano (01:18:30.734)
Imagine if that was my review. Unrealistic party planning C. Just that. Before you say I just wanted to shout out something quick. We never talked about it but I just wanted to shout out the kid that plays Sammy. know like the one. Holy shit that kid can sing. my god. He's a kid for me.
Spencer (01:18:41.254)
That the whole thing.
Matt (01:18:43.884)
I would believe that you're a monster.
Spencer (01:18:53.414)
Mm-hmm. Yeah, he was awesome.
Matt (01:18:57.12)
The kid, he's an adult sir, you're just old. Wow. yeah, racist old man. Yeah. Anyways, thanks for derailing the podcast for your own personal glory.
Luciano (01:19:00.344)
He's a kid for me, because I'm old.
Probably in like his 20s I think I guess but yeah anyway
Spencer (01:19:10.918)
No, I agree though. I support that. He deserved a shout out. He was really good.
Luciano (01:19:11.202)
You're welcome.
Matt (01:19:14.973)
good, great job. Everybody's derailing the podcast for their own personal glory. I'm gonna rerail it. We... We... And you guys don't control the medium.
Spencer (01:19:19.528)
I heard glory.
Luciano (01:19:19.842)
You
Spencer (01:19:25.384)
I didn't say that. Yeah, you're the host of this media channel.
Luciano (01:19:26.616)
We can barely control you, what the fuck are you talking about?
Matt (01:19:28.276)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Sure I am, sirs. Whatever you say. Yes, sirs.
Luciano (01:19:33.71)
no, he's on to us.
Matt (01:19:37.42)
We have picked the next movie. It is the 2025 vehicle. I never looked at who's in it. So I'm just going to say it's a 2025 Predator movie or Predator vehicle. Predator killer of killers. It just came out on Disney Plus. This one's animated. So Michael Bean. Yeah, he's definitely going to die. This is the first animated movie since the war. Was it War of the North? The Rohirrim? War of the Rohirrim? I don't know that.
Spencer (01:19:51.682)
Michael Bean vehicle.
Luciano (01:19:57.547)
Hahaha
Luciano (01:20:04.245)
or the hero.
Matt (01:20:07.19)
Title is long and confusing.
Spencer (01:20:07.91)
Word, word, word, word. That's right.
Luciano (01:20:09.965)
Yeah, it's a lot of... Yeah, this is like Mirror, but like times five. Yeah. The Lord of the Rings, the War of the Rohirrim. Why did it need to be that long?
Matt (01:20:13.58)
Meh meh meh meh meh meh meh meh meh meh meh
Matt (01:20:19.242)
Yeah. But yeah, anyways, Predator, killer of killers. Disney Plus, watch it. We'll talk about it. Maybe it'll be good. Maybe Luciano will find some flaws in how they set up the Predator party.
Luciano (01:20:30.584)
Bye!
Fuck you, I'm right, you're wrong, get bent.
Spencer (01:20:34.632)
Spaceships don't make it through space that fast!
Matt (01:20:38.636)
You
Luciano (01:20:40.438)
Yeah Predator's face shouldn't open that wide
Matt (01:20:44.908)
Bye!

Bye!
