TIETOJA TÄSTÄ JAKSOSTA
Spring arrives quietly…
The days lengthen. The earth softens. And across the land, life begins to return.
For centuries, this moment has been marked as a turning point — a threshold between darkness and renewal. Today, we know it as Easter.
In this bonus episode of Mythic Albion, we explore the layered history of Easter — from its roots in ancient seasonal observances, to its transformation into one of the most important festivals of the Christian calendar.
We trace the origins of Pascha, its connection to Jewish Passover, and the decisions made at the First Council of Nicaea that continue to shape how Easter is observed today.
Along the way, we examine the enduring symbols of the season — eggs, lilies, and spring itself — and how older traditions were absorbed, reinterpreted, and carried forward through time.
This is a story not of one origin… but of many.
A convergence of belief, tradition, and the natural world.
Because whether through faith or through the turning of the year…
Easter has always been about one thing:
That after darkness… something returns.
