TIETOJA TÄSTÄ JAKSOSTA
In this exciting episode of Master the Workforce on SuperTalk 99.7 WTN, host Jennifer Sheets and co-host Angela Cherry sit down with actress, writer, and producer Jenna von Oÿ. Best known for her iconic 90s television role as the quintessential best friend, Six Lemeure, on Blossom, Jenna gets candid about the realities of growing up in front of the camera and navigating her awkward teenage years in the public eye. She hilariously recounts her earliest acting gig—stuffing toilet paper down her sweatpants for a bathroom tissue commercial—before diving into her professional pivot. Driven by a passion for directing and producing, Jenna shares her journey from child stardom to attending the prestigious University of Southern California (USC) film school, proving that taking control of your own narrative is both challenging and profoundly rewarding.
The conversation then shifts to Jenna’s creative evolution since moving to Nashville in 2007. After working as an editorial lead and hosting the show Pull Up a Chair to explore the local culinary arts, Jenna is now pouring her heart into The Cassandra Project. Inspired by the Greek myth of the Trojan princess who was cursed to speak prophecies but never be believed, this ambitious film trilogy focuses on three women of different ages and cultural backgrounds whose voices have been dismissed by society. With the award-winning first film, Busybody, already complete, Jenna is currently fundraising for the next two installments. Her inspiring journey serves as a powerful reminder for listeners to embrace life's pivots, ignore terrible advice (like her grandmother's quirky German phrase, "Every cow is black at night"), and take fearless action toward their own passions.
