TIETOJA TÄSTÄ JAKSOSTA
We have more than five senses. Access can be a creative starting point. And theatre can happen in your home.
Join us behind the scenes of InSideWays to discover what happened when more than 100 collaborators - artists, makers, researchers and families – came together across two countries to reimagine how theatre is made, where it happens, and who it is for.
Host Flo O’Mahony (Artistic Director of Zoo Co and director of the 5 star, award-winning ‘Perfect Show for Rachel’) joins Oily Cart’s Artistic Director Ellie Griffiths, and researchers Aaron McPeake and Elspeth Clark, to discuss what making a sensory show for people’s homes taught them about creativity, access and connection.
Their conversation includes:
💬 How many senses we really have
💬 What happens when a home becomes a stage
💬 How sensory and At Home theatre remove barriers for audiences, and create new possibilites
💬 Where the idea of ‘sideways’ came from, and how it led us to the taste of sound
💬 Co-creation, co-occupation and the magic that happens between people
💬 Why access belongs at the heart – and the start – of the creative process
💬 The value in asking impossible questions (even when you won’t get an answer)
💬 Why time might be the final frontier of access practice
