What happens when a 12-year-old music fan meets The Police and carries that inspiration throughout his life?
In this episode of Borrowed Notes, Authentic Lives, I sit down with Gael Martin, lead vocalist of Zendatta, a premier tribute to The Police. Gael shares his journey from that unforgettable childhood encounter to building a career as a performer, vocal coach, producer, and two-time Latin Grammy-nominated artist through his work with Lighthouse for the Blind.
We explore the art of creating authentic live music experiences, the role of improvisation in performance, the challenges and rewards of honoring iconic music, and how music can become a powerful force for connection, purpose, and impact.
Whether on stage with Zendatta or helping others find their voice through Vocal Works, Gael's story is a reminder that music can shape not only what we do, but who we become.
