درباره این اپیزود
Haggai is one of the shortest books in the Old Testament — and one of the most direct. In this episode, Dr. Mark Long teaches from Haggai as part of our series The Voice: A Journey Through the Minor Prophets, unpacking what happens when good intentions quietly turn into good excuses, and what it looks like to consider your ways.
Show notes:
- Historical background: Solomon's temple, its destruction in 586 B.C., and the return from exile
- The two ways the people of Judah lost their vision (Haggai 1:1–15)
- Three commands for the discouraged: be strong, work, do not fear (Haggai 2:1–9)
- Why sin spreads — and what to do about it (Haggai 2:10–19)
- The promise of the coming Messiah (Haggai 2:20–23)
- What it means that you are the temple today (1 Corinthians 3:16)
Next steps:
- If you've never given your life to Christ, today can be that day.
- If you need prayer or someone to talk to, reach out to a campus prayer team.
- This week, sit with Haggai 1:5 — "consider your ways" — and let it shape one specific area of your life.
