ONSLAUGHT Ending Explained (SPOILER'D) — Adam Wingard's KPG Universe Grows
*SPOILERS AHEAD (even in the description)
Adam Wingard and his long-standing writing partner Simon Barrett's new film Onslaught is a return to their indie roots back in the day when they made VHS 2, You're Next, and The Guest. After making Death Note and two Godzilla movies, Wingard wanted final cut and expression of his singular, tonal chaos aesthetic. Cupcake (Jose) and WillDaBeast (Mike) deep dive the movie, its gorgeous cast - Adria Arjona, Dan Stevens, Rebecca Hall, and Drew Starky - and if this is WINGARD-worthy or just for the die-hards.
The Boyz dig into Dan Stevens' "Peter Sellers"-esque performance, ALL the Carpenter nods (this is "The Guest" meets "Assault on Precinct 13" with a dash of "The Terminator"). The discussion of plot details and secrets reveal why this plays as a spiritual sequel to The Guest and You're Next, while actually being a direct entry in Wingard and Barrett's shared KPG universe (yes, the same KPG from The Guest, You're Next, VHS/2, and Blair Witch).
