Malkier Talks: If you've ever felt like the third wheel, this podcast is for you. If you love Wheel of Time, this podcast is for you. If you're bored and have nothing better to do, this podcast is for you. Join Rob, Megan, and Jen in celebrating the Wheel of Time and its statistically best fandom. Then ridiculous gaming skills. And probably a few cocktails. And find out which one of them will be the third wheel this time. This is three wheeling. Hello Hello! ⁓ That's how we start. So I wanted to make sure we started properly. I know what I'm gonna mean, and it's just gonna be all the regular sound than a giant spike and makes us blow. Yes. ⁓ hi everybody. Welcome back. ⁓ Jen, you are very interestingly dressed. What? Who? What? Me? What? Yes. What? And Vanessa Bay are doing, Rachel. What? ⁓ yeah. Yeah, I am. What am I wearing? ⁓ apparently we're gonna kick straight into this. That was my fault because of the the way I did that. But how are you both doing? Let's let's tease the listeners a little bit, you know? ⁓ we should definitely show ⁓ look at that. And also David from David. Coffee delivery and David's gonna show off his shirt. Fly saw dream brother. ⁓ that's a beautiful shirt. I love that, David. It is. He's waving by. Thank you so much, honey. ⁓ coffee delivery 'cause I could get couldn't get my shit together early enough to get it today. That's fair. I mean it is early, so you know I do appreciate it. To make it rather, yes. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, how's everybody doing? Good. Good that I'm here. This is the best part of this day. The best part of waking up is folders. It's an American commercial Rob. You probably don't know it. I can't believe Megan knows it. Isn't that like Gen Z Gen X? Like I said, I'm not a millennial. You are a millennial, honey. She keeps putting in our chat that she's like, I'm not really a millennial. And then like occasionally, okay, this person makes me feel like a millennial. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I I know that's everybody. Three weeks older than me. You are definitely a millennial, okay? Exactly. I know everybody wants to be Gen X. When they're not forgetting about Gen X, Rob, I'm looking at you. Look, I don't have anything to Did you say she was a boomer? Okay. Yeah, I think I called her a boomer, yeah. Yeah, he just forgot Gen X existed. Gen X existed and then I just deleted like, you know, what's it like 15 years, 18 years, whatever it Yeah. No, we're a short, we're a small generation. I think it's fifty it's fifteen, I think. Fifteen, but okay. Regardless, I I almost didn't speak to you for a week. Okay, boomer. ⁓ my god. There's gonna be a spike on that one. But then you got a gift this week that would have made up for that. So you know. Yes. Yes, I did. Okay. So Rob, do you want to tee it up? Do you want to set it up? I don't I don't know. Do we have time to do this before we're ⁓ we don't have time yet. You know, it's Gen Time is not linear. It's a little fast, a little slow. Sometimes it goes backwards. Now we're in the now. So what time is I don't know, I don't know. What time is right? I think it's time to ask. What? What? Meg. Meg. Drinking. Drinking. So speaking of folgers, actually. So I know I did an espresso martini for the ⁓ the boozy calf. So this one is called Masaana's brew. ⁓ Ooh. So I was like, start of the school year, Masa Anna is a teacher, right? So this would be a perfect time for our Forsaken series for Masa Anna. So, you know, she's she's a teacher, so she needs her extra caffeine. ⁓ and so this is like a fun little fall take on an espresso martini with the Shanky's whip with vanilla notes and the rumchata with cinnamon notes. So in a shaker with ice, you're pouring two ounces of Shanky's whip, one and a half ounces of espresso, half an ounce of Kahlua, one ounce of rum chata. One quarter of an ounce of simple syrup shake till cold, strain into glass, and then garnish with three espresso beans. So cheese. Does sound very good. And because I have enough espresso for two, I made two. ⁓ man. I feel like I was kind of running on a similar track to you this week. Cause I was like, Do you know what? I want a comfort drink this week. I want something that's nice and easy. I was at the supermarket, I wasn't at the supermarket, I was shopping online for my shop to get delivered because I can't carry a big shop like that home from the the shops anymore, so I get it delivered. And I was like, what's their stout selection? I need a stout for this week. And they only had one, but I'm like, that's a nice comfort drink, so I'll have that anyway. It's a Brooklyn Brewery Black Chocolate Stout. ⁓ yeah, so it's got flavours of cocoa, espresso, and it's supposed to be silky smooth. So that sounds like a can this week. It does. We got I got a can this week so that we can ⁓ get the ASMR. So let me just ⁓ check. Yes, because I didn't have that properly last time. I just had like the glug glug of the wine or something. So there you go. Nice. We're I we were on I was on I was on the Babylon podcast the other day, and I had like I had it was scrambling to make dinner before everybody because we podcast at night and I guess making dinner for the whole family. And I quick made myself my own plate and brought it upstairs because we it always takes a few minutes to ramp up. It was tacos. It was hard shelled tacos. And I did not mean to crunch directly into the microphone. And they all said it was like the best ASMR they'd ever had. They were like, No, that was amazing. Some people make some serious money with ASMR. Like just tapping fingernails on stupid crap. And I'm like, What am I doing with my life? Like I know. I literally I was I was dating a woman before COVID and ⁓ she loved ASMR things and was considering ⁓ setting up a a YouTube channel to to do that and was looking at Patreon and all that sort of thing. Very ironic that she's never done that and now I'm actually the person who has a YouTube channel and so on and so forth. But ASMR until it gets to that. So yeah, until it is. Until it is. Until it is. I don't I feel like I feel like I feel like there's probably some good like AMSR in these, said C. No. No. Can you like run run your nails up and down the the ridges maybe? ⁓ yeah, yeah, try it ready. Yeah. That is very ASMR right there. That's very good. Okay, folks, I think it's time to reveal what it is. If you don't watch Threefold Talk, you've missed this. ⁓ 'cause we shared it there. But ⁓ shall I tell the full story or shall I just let's do the full story. So yeah a couple weeks ago I was approached by a company that ⁓ runs official auctions for, you know, merchandise in essence. Let's it's the easiest way to do it. It's called ⁓ let me make sure I say I think it's prop sho Prop store or prop yeah, propstoreauction.com, propstore.com. And ⁓ they do auctions for movies, TV shows, you know, various things like that. Some online, some in person, and so on and so forth. It is ⁓ a UK based company, but they do it for, you know, companies all over the world in essence. ⁓ and they approached me because they'd found either my channel or MalkiriCon. I didn't know that they'd approached you. Yes, they approached me. So they found they must have found MalCuriCon actually because they emailed me asking about promoting it at MalCuriCon. So and when I say it, I realize they haven't said what it is. There is an official Wheel of Time online auction happening in October, which will be on propstoreauction.com. it goes live. ⁓ I think you'll be able to see the catalogue from the s the from the twelfth of October or at some point in mid-October. And it runs for Just over a couple weeks. ⁓ and it's a whole bunch of official merchant light props. And if you register, yes. Just register, you can win. You can possibly win what? Yeah, one second, I've gone to the wrong page. ⁓ they're doing a giveaway. Now, this giveaway, and I want to put in clarifiers for it because it there are a couple of things that matter. ⁓ you must be a resident, must be over 18, if we have under 18 listeners. You must be over 18, a resident in the United Kingdom, or a legal resident of the 48 continuous United States, which means not Alaska and not Hawaii, sadly, ⁓ to enter and potentially win the prize. The prize is a chance to win a Sakarnan and a brown arja great serpent ring from the Wheel of Time TV show. And there's an image of that on the page of the the ring and the sakarin'. I want a Sakarnan so bad. So if you live in either of those two places and are over the age of eighteen, it's worth registering just for the off chance you win that. But on top of that, obviously then there's the auction selling, you know, genuine objects. The preview gallery that's up there so far, which only has a few items. We have Moraine's Stab Wound costume from episode one. We have a full Trolloc costume. ⁓ we have a set of Great Serpent Rings and a Forsaken Ring. It looks like five rings and one ⁓ Forsaken ring there, so six in total. You can get Randolph Or's traveling costume from the third season, Randolph Or's ⁓ Heronmark Sword, Scabbard and Case. A Gwen Alvare's Demane costume, including collars. ⁓ the Horn of the Lear and Horn Box, which I'm like, ⁓ my god, I can't. That one's gonna go for a lot. ⁓ my god, I need a like I need a financial backer, I need a sugar daddy, a sugar mama, I some sugar someone. I need someone, someone please back me, okay? Several sugar daddies and mamas. I need something. Yeah, I need something. And the last one in this preview is Elaine Trican's Tenchico costume, which just makes me think of Jen every time I see it. You know? So could we get, you know, a platonic sugar person for Jen? And like just all of us, you know, can someone just reach out there, just come and like look after the the three of us? ⁓ to to just I'll let you look at my feet. There we go. She literally put her foot on screen there, folks. ⁓ my god. ⁓ my god, there's a there it is. There it was. so they reached out about that, and ⁓ I said, yeah, this sounds really cool. Obviously, it's really exciting to have this opportunity. It's really sad because there's another nail in the coffin of the show, but I think at this stage we can all quite confidently say it's not coming back, ⁓ at least in that form. ⁓ being realistic. ⁓ so I was like happy and sad about it, but I emailed back, this is amazing. Yeah, you can send me flyers because it's a bit short notice if you want to. A stand there, which they didn't want to do. ⁓ and like that may or may not happen. I like, here's the details, send them out. Said that to the ladies on threefold talk. I said it to yourselves here, three wheeling, and you know, it prompted Mel to remember that she had seen Sean Chan's soldier costumes up for sale on eBay. And the folks doing that said they got them from an auction. So she went and she put on a What Series hat, as she calls it, and went and did some sleuthing. She doesn't work for What Series, but you she just, you know, channeled them in her sleuthing and found a company called RL Spear. Very coincidental, it's called that. And they were doing the last of six auctions, which apparently featured Wheel of Time stuff. However, it was not listed as Wheel of Time, it was listed under the category of sci-fi. And it was the only sci-fi lots in there that was ten. There were four later that added four late added on later. and they were, except for one, which was a full Shanshan soldiers outfit, which went for nearly $370 before before commission and taxes. ⁓ there were basically sets of armour from the IEL. So like just just you, you know, you stand at chest armor pieces, various lots, most of them had three and some had five in. ⁓ And we just we said about this on three full talk when we found it. We were like, okay, we will share it out, it's out there, but you know, we kept an eye on it and Wednesday night, for me anyway, Wednesday afternoon for the ladies, we divvied up which lots we were gonna try and win and we went bidding and fighting and we won four lots in the end and got twelve IEL vests. And Jenny's wearing one right now because it had to be pick up on certain dates and times. And we were Jay Dane Charge, you can get to Culver City on one of these days. And David was there one day and went and picked them up for us. So yeah. David was modeling. Yeah. What yeah, yeah, yeah. And so it they're they're shockingly comfortable. ⁓ so I'm it it's it's delightful. The octor ⁓ does the October auction require pickup? That's a good question. Question for that. Let me ⁓ I'm pretty certain shipping information is tab. So we strongly advise all bidders to request shipping quote project. Shipping address, yeah. Yes. ⁓ so the buyer pays all shipping costs. You're responsible for all fees, including duties, taxes, VAT, customs and other charges for items shipped. They are shipped at your expense as the buyer. ⁓ it's your sole obligation and responsibility to be aware of and to comply with and to bear all relevant import duties, taxes, VAT customs, and other fees charged by the buyer's local government and or tax authority. They will ship with the packages with the full value of the goods. They cannot change that. They will not change that. ⁓ So if you buy something worth a f you know, it goes for a thousand pounds, you know, or something crazy like that, they'll ship it like that at value and you will pay the appropriate import charges if required. ⁓ I live in the UK. Just saying. Because they are in the UK, you mean? They are in the UK. Now, I don't I haven't had this confirmed, but they're a UK based company. And my guess is the props were made by predominantly European based people. I've actually had contact with someone over the years. ⁓ like some of them live in the UK, some live a couple other places in Europe. So my guess would be that the props are in the Europe or the UK, probably. But I know Sharon mentioned after the costume exhibition last year that the sh costumes were being shipped back to the warehouses in LA. So my guess is the costumes would come from there and the props would come from the UK. So we all need to chip in and get Jen ⁓ A ⁓ storage unit and then and then a U-Haul coming back across the country. Yeah, and then can you like Well I want to costume ship that to my place in LA. I want to prop ship that to my guy in the UK. Right. And then then you're not having to worry about import fees and taxes and things like that. Three wheel source for all shipping of wheel of type option. Obviously legal shipping options. Look, we're not actually recommending you do that. We're joking around for legal purposes there. We're not advising you to dodge import taxes. but yeah, it was funny to think about that. I was like, maybe I should only bid on props, you know. Not that I can afford to bid. ⁓ but yeah, that's the shipping information there for you, folks. You can find more details for this if you go to propstoreauction dot com and I'll put a link in the description and you go to if you search upcoming auctions, the Wheel of Time one like third or fourth down. It appears very soon. Like here's the link in the description. Here's what's s shocking and surprising to me because and Prop Store, like you know, I it's crazy to me that they actually have costumes involved in that. It's not just it's not just I mean, 'cause it's not just Prop Store. I based on that information and then you saying, like, wait a minute, there's a different one. And then while David was I know why the RL Spear one was going. someone a Mel in part of her sleofing discovered that the R L spear auctions were happening. Because Sony closed its costume departments. Yeah. Yeah. So they're just like for a hundred and two years and they're like, That's it, we're closing it and they fired everybody or everyone just got like redundant or whatever's the appropri I don't know, the appropriate process for that situation. Sony's got to Yeah, they do. They just lost all their jobs and they're all they're basically just selling off everything in their warehouses. So 'cause you David was talking to people, you said, wasn't he? Yeah. So it's 'cause there's a there's a big there's a big city warehouse there that's like but Whether that was like the Sony warehouse or whether that was the RL Spear warehouse or whatever, like a and I think that there are a number of places that kind of scoop stuff up when when somebody's closing up their shop. I mean, I think they probably go in and get it for pennies or n or free and then set up these sites to auction them off. Now, obviously, like we don't care. We're all gonna be like, We'll pay whatever we want this stuff. But but there's but it is like it is I think there's even more. Like it would and because you had The Aeel armor listed as just like random sci-fi and it didn't say we've Sci fi vests. My I mean, they probably were like, ⁓ these are from Dune. I'm sure they thought they were from Dune or something. Like you know, or or like or or yeah, or ⁓ Anya Taylor Joy and Sh Charlie's Theron helped me out. Mad Max or Fury Fury Road or Fury Road or Mad Max, Fury Road. Yeah, ⁓ yeah, they would fit into that as well, yeah. Yeah, and 'cause there's straight caked on dust. There's caked on dirt on these things. Like they distress the shit out of them and they're like so fucking beautiful. Like the leather is beautiful, but there is actual dirt on here. And I'm like, did they wait and put the dirt on it after they got to South Africa or did they ship them fully dirt made? So is the dirt from Prague? Like, you know, I'm like, Where where was it built and where did they like what's the dirt from? ⁓ 'cause there's actual like mud on these. I mean, there was sand in the pocket of Moreines. Moraine's costume. Outfit costume the way she but she she was genuinely like rolling around in the sand. So right. Yeah. Exactly. But but in any case, like the so there are a number of these different prop houses. And so just because we found these ones that were like random sci-fi, I would keep our eyes open for other places as well. Like Prop Shop is doing an official Wheel of Time one, like where they're these are like official, they're calling it Wheel of Time. They're like, these are costumes from the show. Also, it says on there that they've got that like lot of of Aes Sedai rings, but there's also I always call them sling rings, but there's a Forsaken Ring. ⁓ yeah, yeah, that was part. Yeah, there was yeah sling and rings. Yeah, that was in the chat, which I want that one too. I want it so bad. I want the Forsaken. Laura says the armor was made in both locations, but mostly in Prague. Awesome. Thank you, Laura. I don't know why I didn't just like say Laura, tell me Laura, give us the deeds. Yeah. But so so I would keep our I would I I would encourage people to like l look out for and then share with each other like I will I will bet there are other prop places that randomly went and picked up stuff. Who's in chat? Yeah. LBF, you're a yeah, I'm pretty sure you're you're you're a tech wizard. ⁓ I feel like you're a tech wizard. I might be wrong. Please put that in chat if I'm wrong. And if he if I am wrong, then a tech wizard who's listening, go set up like some kind of internet. You can do surely there's search things you can do, you know, just perform a a daily search. I there I'm a very specialized tech wizard. Okay, I love that. Thank you, LBF. I was correct. I wasn't going mad with my thoughts there. But yeah, surely there's like a specific thing we could set up that would do a daily search or whatever. I know that Wattseries had a few things like that, which enable them to find that's how they found like C Vs and things that got posted like when everyone was like, How on earth did you find this person? It's like if you do specific searches around certain sites, you'll find these things. ⁓ we must be able to And then it'll just it'll just ping you and but you have to be somebody who actually pays attention to your notifications. I'm not that person. definitely I feel like I need I need a shofa. I need like I need something up here. I am wearing underneath this, by the I am wearing So anyway, the whole the whole point of that is Jen is wearing one of the pieces. ⁓ Jen molded it for us along with David and their son. And we shared those photos on Threefold Talk a couple of days ago. ⁓ or the a week ago by the time this edit this comes out. ⁓ and they joined us live on our rap party for Leviathan Wakes, because we just finished the first book of the Expanse and they were wearing them and we chatted about them and showing them. Screen and things like that. It was just absolutely hilarious. In fact, there was a chat between me, Mel, and Jen while we were first talking logistics of getting them around to us so we could have them. And I thought they were done streaming. I felt so bad. I was like sending shit. Send us like an act with sending us various things during the show. We're both keeping a straight face and trying to stay focused on both, you know, which we were managing. And then I was kind of like starting to like segue into it and be like, okay, like this is the thing. And then Jen put in a photo of of David and their son like having a battle with like wooden spears and or like a dagger and things like that, something like that. And it was like an action shot and we both just ⁓ my god! You know, kind of like in the middle of the show. And no one else on the stream had any idea what was happening. It was just me and Mel losing our minds at message from Jen. And I had to explain. It was hilarious. It was so funny. I would have a clip from the show, actually. I had the time wrong and I would have jumped in to like watch you guys and then I so cause I thought I'd missed it. Cause you're like, if you if you get home in time or if you ha if you have time you you know, let us know. And I was like, ⁓ so sorry I missed it. And I just thought I missed it. And then when you said we're dying on the live stream, I was Wait, you're still on? We'll join. ⁓ which was really fun. And then Yeah, they're like they're like shockingly comfortable. I mean, they do get warm. It's a it's a big Thick piece of leather. Meg, it smells like attack room. It's so awesome. I'm pretty sure Laura said that they were like a a vegan type of leather or something like that, that most of this was made from. ⁓ I will I will tell Kyle because Laura, my younger. Yes, vegan. Yeah, they are they are vegan leather. ⁓ so ⁓ the show did it that way as much as possible. I'm I'm sure there are things out there that are actual leather in the show props, but as much as possible, they were using vegan stuff. What's leather? Laura, what is vegan leather made from? Put that in the chat for us and we will update you in a moment. I don't know. ⁓ yeah, I can't wait to find out. Anyway, but well that's good because my thirteen year old is vegan adjacent and he refused to put them on because he was like, I'm not wearing all that leather. Good for him for standing up for one. ⁓ a hundred percent. I was like, Yeah, that's a hundred percent fine. ⁓ but then once I tell him it's vegan, he'll be like, I'm not gonna put on something that other people have been sweating in. Well Laura knows yeah, that's probably what he would say. Laura says all she knows is it's plants. Okay. Awesome. That's great. I've got a I keep trying to catch up with Rob ⁓ Goodwin, ⁓ just in general. ⁓ so I will add that to the list of questions and be like, my dude, where does that leather come from? That that'd be And tell him and tell him I am like just ⁓ and I'm seeing the photos that we got these. I need to tell him that. Yes, you do. And I like and and I you know I know obviously he he didn't personally handmake every one of these. There's millions of them, but not not millions, but there's Cast a thousand. But yeah. Yeah, I mean, I know it all comes from him. There's probably a hundred or so made of them. Yeah. I mean, and Laura knows. Like Laura, I'm not like I'm not saying this for but Lau like Laura knows. Like, and we all anybody who's actually gotten to see any of the costumes up up close, or if you did the online thing and you just like zoomed in, I the level of detail that like I've I've spent a lifetime looking at props and costumes. And yeah, like Y for screen ready and also like great you know, we live in H D time now, so they have to make them a little bit cleaner than they used to. Like you know, I mean, but looking at original Star Wars costumes and props from seventy seven when they're like, no one is gonna see this at all. No one will ever be able there will never be a resolution high enough to show you what this looks like compared to like this level of detail. They are just insanely gorgeous. Okay, so and I think Though I so just just keep keep your ears and eyes open. Yeah. And Laura Laura just said she's like she's like, I spent all week scouring the auction sites and I have access to the costume shop I managed. I didn't find anything. I will keep our eyes and ears open as well and let you guys know if we if we find anything out because sometimes there's just random stuff here in LA that you find out about. Ooh, okay Okay. ⁓ according to gallonleather.com. Yeah. Vegetable tan leather is maint using natural tannins found in organic materials to add a unique look and feel to the animal hide. That doesn't sound like it still sounds like it's an animal hide to begin with. ⁓ yeah, I think that is. Yeah. Yeah. But there is, but I know there's vegan leather. I mean, like I there's, you know, like a lot of sites like sell vegan leather belts and vegan leather leather purses. Actually actually Meg Austin, I'm sure Austin. Yeah, 'cause surely it can't be the process of turning it from an animal hide to leather as we see it is the non vegan part, is the it's the hide to begin with, is the non vegan part. So ⁓ yeah. ⁓ while there is no universally accepted definition, any material that mimics the look and feel of leather but is not produced using animal hides can be yeah. Can be instead a wide ray of synthetic materials and natural fibers are used. Okay. Awesome. So maybe there's two steps. Maybe there's like a limit in the process with actual like animal hide turning into leather, and maybe there's like replacement materials as well that mimic the look and feel. But yeah, I they use the like Laura said they used the law of vegan stuff on the show. So ⁓ cool. ⁓ question for Rob. Yeah. Anyway, it's all it's all Gorgeous and incredible. And now we have to figure out how I'm supposed to get these twelve giant pieces of leather. Ten. Fake leather. Different people around the world. Yes. ⁓ ten. You guys are so graciously offering ⁓ David and I should find between. Between the three of us. Yeah. Between the three of us, we bought twelve. ⁓ there were the all the all the lots we won were lots of three. And ⁓ you know, we've been chatting away and about like we don't need twelve, obviously for the three of us. So we were talking about like who to you know, to like we could give them to certain people or we put them up in auctions and things like that. So we're debating all that, but as part of that we were like, We could not absolutely in any way, shape or form, gotten them without Jen and David. So, you know, we were like, Would would you like to have, you know, couple? You know? And then, you know Jen and David are like, well, you could talk us into it, but you don't have to. They've been That's exactly what I said. Meg, Meg, help me out here. If Jen keeps two, then she can bring one and you and her could wear them together. Yeah. I can borrow David's, maybe. That's right. That's right. Well i well I'm David could wear David could wear a bigger one because he doesn't have the boobs. So there we go. Exactly. I know. although as it turns out, I haven't I haven't told you guys yet ⁓ yet this in chat, Rob, I was going to. I tried on okay, so one of them is most of them are considered men's Men's costumes, but they're like eleven of them were yeah. But one was clearly a woman's cup. Yeah, they're quite unisex. One of them is unisex. One of them is definitely like it's slightly molded. Like the leather is molded for a boob shape. ⁓ and it's also smaller. Now, it's also for a smaller frame than me. So it's it's a little small in terms of like it's not meant to go quite shoulder to shoulder. It's like it's more of a it's more of a like a a front covering. ⁓ And also then gives like plenty of room. I mean, I suppose if I were trying to fight in this men's size one, like, you know, I'm hitting the like my my shoulders not able to have a full range of motion. So the other one is smaller. But okay, this is too much information, but who cares? I wasn't wearing a bra when I tried it on the other day. I was just like in a tank top, but like the girls weren't as supported as they might be at other times. And so when I tried it on, I'm like, who who could this fit? Like this for the smallest boob size ever. But it wasn't just that it was small boobs, it was just like placement of boobs. So I tried it on again and I put the girls in the right place and it fits a little bit better. So just to know. I you wore undergarments of some kind. They must have. Yep. Yep. A question from LBF and chat. Have you been wearing that vest since ⁓ Shut up, no? No, shut up, no. No. What was the quote from your son? It's really comfortable. I might not be able to take it off, basically. Yeah, he literally this is what's hilarious. So he was like, he he put it on and he and then like I had him and like he and David each tried like David Do want try one on? And then that was when Kyle was like, No. And then Zach did and then he posed for pictures, which was awesome and I super appreciated. And then but hilariously then he was just like, Okay, I'm out and he just starts walking upstairs. I'm like, Where are you going? He's like This isn't really comfortable. I'm not taking it off. He just went upstairs and sat at his computer and was either gaming or doing homework or watching like amazing science videos and he was like just wearing the armor for like two hours. It was great. It was great. He was like, This is really awesome. ⁓ yeah, it was really it's it's they're really fun. They're really super fun and cool. You I don't know if I told you this, Rob. So when they were gonna pose, he was like, ⁓ wait, hang on, let me go get the sword because we have a like an alarm sword. And David It was like, no. We did it. Good boy, David. I love that you've all clapped. We did it. We got him. He's official. He's We got him. I was just I I have to say, like proudest moment. Yeah, absolutely. So proud. Did you cry? Unprompted from me. I did. I shed a little tear. That is so perfect. love it. ⁓ my god, it was great. I was really impressed. Yeah. So Jen Jen is the third wheel today because ⁓ she chose to wear armour instead of just a t shirt. Exactly. And then the third wheel. Underneath it is my G my G T shirt. Can you see your G ⁓ the G T shirts underneath? Nice. Yeah. So three wheeling will be dressing as I'll ⁓ Watcon next year. ⁓ wearing official show armor. Nice. Love it. Love it. You realise that includes you, Meg, yeah? That's yeah. Yeah. Did you catch I said three wheeling? I'm gonna have to bring them both. Well, I figured I would like wear one to like borrow. Yeah, well yeah, and then yeah but we would have like a full we would go as I with it as well. So you get the rest of a Goutrement. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And then like ⁓ Jen would bring the quote David's, you know. Exactly. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. ⁓ they're they're but they're great. They're they're great and they're they're a little more unisex than than I thought. Like they're just like there are two belts that are a little bit on the tight side. So We can make it work. And Laura, are you yes? Yes, I do need a shofa and a veil. Yes. Yes. We need shofa and a veil. I probably can sort of go underneath. I I probably just need advice on ⁓ a coutumon I could purchase since I can't just stop by your house, Laura. ⁓ so I could be fitted for things. ⁓ it's great. Very, very exciting. So yeah. That's what we got up to and folks, yes, there's a Wheel of Time online auction happening with official costumes and props that will be listed as Wheel of Time items, so I'm assuming they'll go for a lot more money than we managed to luckily secure these pieces of armour for. And these pieces of armour might start to appear over the next coming probably eighteen months or so into various things or we might do giveaways or who knows, because we're not keeping twelve, ⁓ as we've said. So ⁓ there will be some that will be going up to different events here and there. ⁓ yeah. So that's the that's Yeah, it's just I I know we I can't believe when we finished the auction and we were like the start to be like you've won like in the chat, I think I just turned it. I like, Guys, we own these. These are ours, you know? And it's like, ⁓ my God. I hope they'll be auctioning off IEE Spears from the show. They'll fit ⁓ my god, they would fit the they would fit the shoulder loops perfectly on the back. ⁓ my god, don't show I don't have money here. Hang on. I don't need money. If you're a listener and you're rich, please I will I will be your per I don't know, like ⁓ Join our Patreon. I'll sell I'll sell my soul. What do you need? What do you want within legal reasons? ⁓ within legal It's feet. Sorry. Just just feet. Feet? I just got new shoes today that I needed, because ⁓ that's that's my trousers. ⁓ I have your pants! New barefoot shoes. Because my old ones were were ruined. So those have the toes? No, they don't specific I'm gonna take it off, actually. They don't specifically have toes, but they are slightly Like you see, they are slightly shaped. I'm real sick, but I'm probably not gonna keep this in. But they are they like ridges which sort of like represent the toes, but they're not they're not like that. They're just a wider box on the front. Yeah. ⁓ which is a much nicer way. And they are literally like there's nothing to them. LBF says no toes only G's. No toes, only G's. Yeah, good point, sir. Good point. So I'd ⁓ completely destroyed my last set ⁓ that I purchased a while back. So ⁓ these are great shoes. And I noticed I realized how much I destroyed them, not only when I took them out and I took out my orthopedic inserts from the doctor and looked at underneath and I destroyed the soul. But then I turned them over and I realized like not only I'd eliminated all the tread basically from certain spots of the boots, but when you like prodded it, I was like, hmm, this feels like paper thin. ⁓ no. I'm glad I decided just to get new shoes anyway. I'm like, I feel like these are getting better to be in their lives. Like, you know, I've worn them every day for like 18 months. And I do mean every day for 18 months, so yeah. Anyway, segue. No. I look, if you want some G shots, I don't know what that is, but we'll figure it out. ⁓ Rich Pinkle call me, you know, so ⁓ and Mom has barefoot shoes too. They're great, honestly. Roger got me onto them and they're brilliant. So ⁓ I know we don't have forever today. ⁓ but there was one other quick piece of news. ⁓ so Rob brought this ⁓ chit chat about Chit-chat about ⁓ writing. So take it away, Meg. ⁓ so via deadline, Rafe inked an overall deal with Paramount Tele or Paramount Paramount Television Studios. ⁓ and then I I love his little ⁓ blurb underneath. Are we posh about it now because Rafe's there? ⁓ you've you hired Rafe Paramount, Paramount. Paramount Paramount, ⁓ So he said, when you're with at Steven Buskin for lunch and he says, ⁓ my God, your headshots are all terrible. Will you please just sit behind this table for one second so I can take a proper picture of you? You'll need it someday. That's so great. I love that so much. It's such a such a fun picture. It's a really good picture. It is. Although although Taylor has his like his film camera he's been using lately, I'm like, We we need like a cool greeny shot, you know. Do you see I saw one posted today, I don't know when he actually posted it, but like his guns are big right now. Raves? No, Taylors. Taylors. Like he's always had decent guns, but like he did a pose where he's doing like the you know, the the the arm up like strong man thing. Yeah. You know, both fists towards his head type pose, and they are like they're beefy. Like I got big thighs and I'm like, I'm sure they're bigger than my thighs. You know, I was like, okay. Yeah. Man's been pressing. Yeah. So maybe So when they say overall deal, what does that mean? All right. Yeah. Yeah. I know I will. It's really great. I'm so excited. I also Rafe was on an he was on an overall. I thought he was on an overall at Sony, Amazon, one of the other. At Sony, I guess. I don't know. But I because what happens sometimes when when a showrunner comes in and pitches a big show like Wheel of Time, they are like, Cool, cool. We really don't want you to also go pitch things at Netflix right now. We don't want you to go pitch things at Apple, whatever. So at Paramount. So they you know, so so is sometimes there's just a non exclusivity non exclusivity in your contract or exclusivity. So like when I was working at Warner Brothers, I had an exclusive contract at Warner Brothers when David was at Nick, it meant that if we pitched something we had to we had to pitch it there first and we weren't supposed to be pitching outside of the studio. ⁓ so like if you're at Nickelodeon, you can still pitch a Paramount because they're same c parent company. But like you have to stay within within that parent company while you're pitching. Yeah, within the family. Sometimes you can have a non exclusive contract, which is like, look, I know that you're not gonna be paying me anything to like stick around and I know that you, you know, like I wanna be able to pitch everywhere, and you can just have that written into your contract. But Wraith was on some deal with with Amazon. That's like how God of War was happening there. How we did like sort of a thirst spin for that before they decided to give someone else a shot. Exactly. Like in in part, it was like that's why because it was like they can say, Okay, cool, we're setting up God of War. We want you to take a look at this as well. If you're on an overall So that's so there's non-exclusive, not non-exclusivity, and there's exclusivity in your contract. So that just means like you can't just pitch anything else. But then there's also putting somebody on an overall means that they are like, cool, cool. Like when if Wheel of Time goes away, if whatever project you're working on isn't going forward, we're still paying you to s essentially be a part of our company. and what it means on the creator side, what we hope it means is great. Like Paramount will hear any pitch that I want because I'm on an overall here. I can bring them ideas and say, hey, Paramount, here's an IP I found. ⁓ it's this random book called War, these Warhammer books. Like, you know, whatever. You can like, you can say, like, here's a here's something I want you to look into. And because you're on an overall there, they'll like help you acquire the rights to it and they'll like help you develop it. And you're just continually getting paid, not necessarily a huge fee, sometimes an overall. Is it like having a full time job versus being a casual teammates? You not ex yes and no, because overalls are like and and there's two two schools of thought. Like overalls can be considered detrimental because you sort of get stuck there and then you can't like let's just say I'm on an overall somewhere and when like let's if I had been in fact I I ended up being on an exclusive deal at at Warner Brothers, but like had I like on an overall at Warner Brothers when Wheel of when Sony got the rights to Wheel of Time, I would have been like, I wanna go over there and like you know, I I want to go talk to them about developing it. And they would have like, sorry, you're over on an overall here. You can't. It's even more than just exclusive. And it's it's not l necessarily like a full-time job. Like sometimes an overall is they'll just give you like here's our annual we'll give you an annual rate. Like we'll give you a deal to be like, you're on on call for us. But where it gets a little bit dicey or where it can be less beneficial for the creator is it let's just say that Paramount is like, ⁓ we, you know Somebody came in to us, this young person, this new person came in and they have the rights to dungeon crawler carl, let's just say. Like I know it's already out there, but let's just say some you know, this guy's got the rights to dungeon crawler carl. We think it's gonna be really huge, but he doesn't have any experience. So what we'd like you to do, Rafe, is to come in and like, can you just like, you know, like kind of show him the ropes and like help him develop it, you know, but you're not actually gonna be on it or attached to it. Like and so when you're an overall, you're kind of like they're like, We don't have you, you're not doing anything else right now. We c Well, no. I mean, but yes. You can sometimes you can be asked to develop things that aren't gonna go anywhere. Or you can be asked to develop something that maybe isn't your f main thing. You can say no. They're not gonna generally they're not gonna be like, We're gonna make you do this thing that you don't wanna do. But it does sometimes put you Yeah, it just sometimes puts you in a disappearance. Okay. But but that said, like I mean that's that's one of the downsides. Like that's and it's not necessarily a downside. ⁓ I mean overalls are great because for creators, we always go through these waves of things where you're developing something and then they decide not to green light it or development just gets really slowed down. If you're in a development deal where they've paid you this much money to develop it, and then they're just dragging their feet because they're like, Well, you know what, Amazon just came out with a fantasy series this year, so we're gonna kind of just table it till next year. Then you as a development creator are like, You're not gonna keep paying me to stick around, be attached to this. Which might go in a year and a half and I'm not getting any money towards that. Yeah. You know, or it takes a long time to get production ramped up. And so an overall means that they're continuing to pay you and value you during that time. And then you can develop something else over here on the side. And then when the show that you were developing over here goes, you're like, Great, I'm still in the family here. So it is a really good thing. And it's one of the few ways that's a business. Yeah. And it's one of the few ways that the studios actually value their creators. Now here's an interesting thing about overalls though as well is that During the writer's strike in you know a few years ago. ⁓ yeah. There were a lot of people on overalls around town. And if you strike with the WGA, if you go on strike and you are striking for more than thirty days or something, then you maybe 60 days, maybe even 90. But if you strike, if you are actually, if your union is striking, the studio now is allowed to cancel your overall. So if you have an overall that was supposed to last you through 2026, but you were striking in 2023, you could they the studios could say, sorry, you're striking and you're not doing anything, so we're canceling your overall. So the studios used the strike to get out of a bunch of overalls and screw people over. And it was like when things people like when when the WGA decided to strike first, it was like, That's part of why directors I think were kinda like we're not in love with this idea either. Although it's writers more that tend to be on overalls, but but like the studios literally came out and said we just need to wait them out for another month and then we can cancel all their overalls. I mean people were saying it out loud. It's even like published in a couple of places. It's like there was that horrible article that was like, We just need to wait 'til they lose their houses and then they'll negotiate with us. You know? Yeah. And so So yeah, so the studio used the strike as a big purging and they and then Everybody's overalls went away. I I'm not gonna say everyone who works at a studio is a is a evil human being, but I am gonna say that the people cl the closer you get to the top, the more they only care about the bottom line. Yeah, and the stud the studios themselves only c I mean, the stud like if we're calling corporations entities now, if they're an actual entity and an individual and they have rights, I mean corporations might have rights but more rights than women in America. Let's just say that. ⁓ God, yeah. They do. But they don't have they don't have an ethical code. They don't their ethical code is make as much money for our shareholders. I mean frankly they're they are beholden to do that. And so it's really well, I won't get go into the politics of it, but in any case. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I it's just it is really if you're a frequent listener, you know how we feel about this here at Three of the Books. Yes. Yes. But it does it's just it's tricky and it makes it it makes it it makes it hard. So so anyway, and in there were so many overalls set up during the streaming boom. And so now they took the strike as an opportunity to get rid of all of those overalls. So like ever most everybody's overalls disappeared. Not everybody's, but a lot of them did. And then now they're f I mean, honestly, for me, like I looked at that news and I was like, love that because that means that they're actually starting to set up overalls again. Yeah, and for and for genre television people like Rafe. And so Yeah, I we have and we have like because David was at Nick for six years, like we have a lot of connections over at Plus and ⁓ yeah. It does show some confidence in the industry if they're gonna start signing overalls again. Yeah. You know, because they're like we need people on that in that situation for us so that we can consistently produce things for people to watch. And and honestly, it does it c it just means that you've got somebody there who isn't, you know. Like when we get to the place when we're between jobs and we're between we're pitching like, you know, like like I am right now, like it's it you know, I mean, as a as a as a as an ent as somebody who's in the business for a long time, you set up buffers so that you have that time, you have enough to keep you going during the time when you know you're gonna be in between. Because if you're not in an overall, you gotta figure out how to get by during that time. But it does like it does mean that, yeah, they're like, okay, we we want to start putting people back in these places. I've had some really great conversations with some some agents recently that are just like that are feeling the way I've been feeling, which is that things are actually it's incremental, it's Titanic, but it's like very slowly moving in the right direction. And this is a big sign of that. Are we gonna see the return of sitcoms in multiple? You know, David and I were literally talking about that last night, Meg. ⁓ god, that would be Well, everybody wants cheap TV and it is the cheapest way to make TV until you have friends and then you have million dollar salaries. But like it's the cheapest way to But at that stage it's so successful, it's like worth spending the money on people, isn't it? Yeah. If you get to another friend stage or or Big Bang kind of got there, other shows have gotten there, you know. Yeah. ⁓ definitely. So what this does say to I mean I'm very happy with Rafe and I I I actually posted on the on the Instagram post when he put it out, I was like, I hope Paramount realize how lucky they are. You know, because he's he's very talented, regardless of what people think. And by the rights to Wheel of Time. And save it you've confirmed it for me, Jen, that basically if people want Wheel of Time to come back in the form that it was, so carrying on from season three, ⁓ there's one place left for it now, and that is Paramount Plus, if they want Wraith connected to it. If they want it to carry on in its pres in the form it was in but without Wraith, there are still other options. But if they want it with Wraith, which I think if you want that form and don't want Wraith, then That's weird. ⁓ yeah, it's now Paramount is the last option, isn't it? So Yeah I can still hope. Yeah. I can still hope. Yeah. Be a realist and a and an optimist at the same time. Glass half falls. Yes. Genuinely very happy for him. Very, very happy. Yeah. ⁓ yeah, it's amazing. Rafe. Wheel of Time sitcoms. ⁓ my god. Wheel of Time sitcoms would be hilarious. Rafe of Time Time is an overall now. You've got some more free time. Call me and let's have our interview, okay? Can we book the bookmark this Wheel of Time sitcom right now? This needs to be our Wada Holiday ⁓ thing. ⁓ sitcom. ⁓ my god. I love writing multicam. Yes, please. Let's do that for a Wada holiday. ⁓ my god, that's great. I was gonna say like let's do it for w ⁓ for w ⁓ WhatCon next year, no, we gotta do we should definitely do it. If we can we could do both, yeah. ⁓ my god, maybe we should switch our whole writing thing and switching. I was like, Is that a sitcom? Do we sh do we shelve do we shelve our finish the TV show and start writing sitcoms? We could we could sh we could just like we could put it on the shelf for a few minutes while we while we play in comedy world. ⁓ my god, ⁓ my god. Yeah, we could play in comedy world. Like, okay. Come, we're getting back into writing our TV show pitch. But now we're forty-seven minutes into this episode. We're forty-seven minutes into this episode. Because Jennifer just does not stop talking. No, but if you know us, you know how we like to go on things. And this was always when we started this, it was always gonna be a this is a multi-year project type thing, you know. It's ⁓ it was never gonna be a high pressure, got it done by a certain period of time. It was like we just keep tinkering away at it over the years because you know, we only do twenty-six episodes a year, something like that, and that's all ballpark, so it's never gonna be like out very quick. But I like this idea. Maybe we segue into writing a sitcom instead. I do too. Meg, we need a new document, please. Okay. I'm like, yes, better something better than my sleepy notes. Yes, let's brain let's brainstorm an idea now and then next time we meet we'll actually start trying to figure out sitcom. And I'm also feeling like okay, like let's look at this big picture. But we have to start from the beginning, I think, with sitcoms. Absolutely. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Absolutely. I think we have, yes, LBF, what have you done? What have you done? What did that LBF did? Yes. Yes. And now that you're forty forty odd minutes into the show, you know what he did, ladies and gentlemen. And then I don't know if we want to bring Kevin on as well periodically, because Kevin would love, I think. Kevin would love. ⁓ yeah. That would be so funny. I wanna I wanna look at this w okay, since we're talking about overall deals. We have an overall deal. She's got a pen in her hand. I do have a pen. It's a Spirit Airlines pen. R. I. P. Yes. ⁓ spirit. For legal purposes, if you want a Wheel of Time sitcom, you must come to us, folks. If you make a wheel of sit wheel of time sitcom without re referring to three wheeling and without having us produce write it and for we will sue you. ⁓ we will sue you because we now own the rights. ⁓ side tangent, may not keep this in. If I have, congratulations, listeners, you're listening to it and enjoying it. ⁓ YouTube updated its advertising policies because they just want to continue making more money. Obviously. And now they automatically, if they detect in your content something that's taggable as in a product to sell, they automatically update your video to include adverts for that product. We've had five three wheeling ⁓ videos tagged. I'm assuming for alcohol, I didn't actually go and look. That's the only thing that makes sense in the advert. Because you've mentioned the brands, and I was gonna be like, ⁓ yes, and if you want to purchase Shankies, but you know I meant to be there earlier and I forgot. So YouTube, ⁓ if you would like to promote or put up an advert for what alcohols are in that drink, Meg? San German. ⁓ Can you say them in English, please? Saint Germain. Saint Germain. Yeah, so Sophie Turner is a Saint Germain spokesperson now. I've been seeing her reels on Facebook. Yeah. Well then Sophie, you need to come and just do like a a cameo appearance here for a little while. You know, you can join us for the sitcom. So ⁓ yeah, that would be funny if YouTube tags those products in this video. Right. So talking about people paying us for things, that would occur to me. Happy to take the money. Because if people then I I think how it works, and I haven't dug deep into it, those because it's not something that I do on the YouTube channel. But I think if someone then purchases something from the link, I it's not a kickback, but whatever the legal version of a kickback is, I like I get like, you know, I get like a percent, I get some sort of like payment from it or something. Which I'm sure will be minuscule. ⁓ But it was just hilarious when it's like, You've been tagged in five five of your videos have been tagged. I Really? ⁓ it must be ⁓ they're all free mailing videos. Megs alcohol. Okay. So yeah, so if a studio wants to ⁓ wants to get us to produce sitcoms for you, like it this was the video. ⁓ yeah. Sitcom is sponsored by alcohol. Megan Megan I wish I'd gotten my hands on the keyboard fast enough. If I had it in front of I would have, but it's like up above me right now. And I don't have my other keyboard here. You just hair flipped and then you froze mid-hair flip. It was delightful. It was like your hair was just like flying up, and I was like reaching up to do a screen grab and it went away. It was delightful. This is a great idea. I love this. Okay, so let's assuming that we're on a par ⁓ Paramount also, by the way, like the Paramount lot like where they film Laverne and Shirley in Happy Days and like and what? Cheers. ⁓ I don't know. Well because I know I know Paramount Plus has Cheers, but I don't know where they Yeah. I mean it was an NBC show at the top I don't know. I'm not sure about Cheers. I'm not sure. ⁓ but in any case, they're not they're not unfamiliar with with sitcoms. Google's telling me it was filmed in Boston. ⁓ the exterior shots. Google, you are so fucking wrong. I'm like, what? Exterior shots? Maybe the streets. Yeah, the exterior of the bar is and they just stage stage twenty-five at Paramount Studios in Hollywood. There you go. Megan, nice. You did you do the Paramount tour? I can't remember. Have you done a Paramount Tour? ⁓ there wasn't one for years and they brought it up. I did the WB tour. Yeah, then you probably have done the Paramount. I mean you did David tour you around Paramount, I think. Where was the Friends? And Friends was No, Friends is obviously. ⁓ Exactly. It is the best lot. Like here's the thing about Panama. Like it is the best. And let's also say you're potentially making an ADU. So if Rafe and Taylor need a place to stay, it's at your ADU on your property. Just in case it gave that vibe. Like that's not how ⁓ that works. Okay. He's like, if I saw him in the street, we could go for a beer or whatever, but he's not like someone I hang out with, just to be clear about that, folks. Paramount story, you know. Yeah. ⁓ Yeah, you and Taylor. Totally guys. You know, yeah. BFS, you know. It's like it's the same as you you two and Priyanka, you know, like just you know, totally. Look, she dinged your symbols, okay, Meg. She did my symbols in my car. Yes. Yes. ⁓ you had to clarify. Obviously. Yeah, I was like, mm, that sounds a little weird. Sounds a little weird. I knew you would. That's why I said it 'cause I might be clarified, it'd be funny. Anyway, ⁓ sorry, carry on. Well no, I was gonna say I love this idea. I think, you know, knowing that we're dealing with a twenty two thousand twenty two hundred character and whatever. I think we need maybe we need to spit with like certain areas, like we need something like two rivers before anything goes down. Yeah. Like I think that's And are we doing this like a twenty two episode sitcom season? Well, I mean we could or we could or we could just like develop out what the sitcom would kind of be and like what would happen. But but I think that what I'm saying is I think that like let's pretend that we have the overall at Paramount and Paramount now has the rights to wheel time. And we are like, Okay, we wanna do a sitcom, but this is such a big world that this sitcom is gonna just spawn off so many s so many spin-offs because There are like so you know, so this is now you know, like I'm not gonna say that one. Hang on. I'm trying to think of other another sitcom. This is a million every sitcom has spin offs. But like like so this is a sickle. No. Well that is ⁓ But there was ⁓ like there was Joey after Friends. I was gonna say there was Joey. Yeah. Yeah, but yeah, I like the ⁓ the I'm talking about the concept of that. Not drop it's you know, not how well or poorly it performed. Boy meets world girl meets or or or within the universe. Like ⁓ like friends and mad about you were in the same universe. So they weren't spin-offs of one another. But Happy Days in Laverne and Shirley. Happy days in Laverne and Shirley. What was Phoebe's sister's name? Ursula. ⁓ Ursula Ursula Ursula, yeah. Ursula. Ursula was a waitress in in Mad About You. Yeah. Yeah. So like, you know, so I think that we could just say like this is an interconnected universe because I think I think there's fun to be had in like literally like the first the first show is just called Two Rivers. Like you know, like maybe. And maybe it doesn't involve anything else. We could like goof with it and and and just like let's remove ⁓ and we can obviously this is you can say no to this, but I'm thinking let's remove the whole like the dragon is being reborn right now type thing. You know, like the two rivers could just be the the kids at seven. Then Bowie is the main character. And then like, you know, ten years of their life in the two rivers. Yeah. Yeah. As if Moraine had never turned up and the dark one never did what he was doing, type of thing. Mm-hmm. You know? Right. ⁓ but then we could have spin offs where it's just like, you know, life in the Black Tower. Yeah. Yeah. You know, which obviously does inv does need Rand to have all of the experiences and all that sort of stuff. And we get the circus now because the circus is a sitcom. ⁓ my god, the circus is a sitcom! Make happy, but Jen's head just went, Ugh I'm just like down so much. I lit I just I literally just wrote myself into that corner. Yep, we did. You did. You did. Damn it. No, I I'm all ⁓ I am a hundred percent on board with circus in a sitcom. We could have fun with that circus. It's like a whole season. Just yeah. Yeah. Fallaluca as a character in a sitcom. ⁓ my god, the fun we could have with that. ⁓ my god, yeah. Laverne Shirley moved this was a different Laverne and Shirley, Laverne Shirley moved to Hollywood at one point. Like they left they left Milwaukee and they moved to LA. So like the circus can be like an off season where they're like Yeah. ⁓ I mean, I do think that there is some there is some fun to like to make it friends with it's just but our it's you know with our Eamon Feel 5 and then like obviously new friends come in along the way. Rob, what were you gonna say? The the White Tower, but it's like in the style of the desperate housewives. That's what I was gonna say too. Like I feel like all the White Tower stuff should be its own show. Like it's totally its own show. Now like the real housewives of the White Tower. Yes. The real sisters of the White Tower, you know? ⁓ my god. And that's film I love it. It's I love doing it like a ⁓ like a ⁓ Christopher Guest like a mockumentary, yeah where they do it like real housewives, but it's our fictional characters. ⁓ my god. Wait a minute. Write down write this down. I am writing it down and I'm also like, wait, shut up. Cause I'm like, mmm. ⁓ Are you gonna suggest things that are gonna like I don't know things? ⁓ I don't know. I'm I'm like, can I pitch this? ⁓ right. Okay, I got you, right. I see. I'm actually actually like I'm going back to fucking Real Housewives and I'm like, can I can I'm So the Patreons might be only hearing this and we got it. And then Jen starts pitching it. It's Bill Murray. ⁓ ⁓ Bill Marie ⁓ like army movie like ⁓ okay yeah yeah that's really fucking funny. It's really funny. I'm okay. I'm starting a document right now. Okay. With just some ideas. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah yeah yeah. Well the Monkey Matter of the White Tower. We'll have a chat like off stream. It's actually I mean I can't I don't imagine what ones can we talk about in the show? What ones are we saving for Jen to actually pitch? it's so funny. I mean girl you know Although Rafe is really the one to write Real Sisters of the White Tower because he's the one who has the background in reality TV. That's true. Can you imagine? ⁓ my god, or White Tower Survivor. White Tower Survivor No, I feel like Black Tower needs to be Survivor, not White Tower Survivor. And when you get voted off, you get handed a cup of wine. Yes. ⁓ my god. Honestly, I'm gonna clip this and when I finally sit down when when Rafe and I finally find time in his schedule to sit down together, we'll do do the interview for the documentary and then I will say to him, by the way, I need to play you a clip of some shit from a podcast. So right now we're doing main series as a sitcom. Main series as a sitcom, it's friends, it's two rivers it's it's ⁓ it starts with the E F five and then like obviously Elaine, Aviana and Min finds we'll yeah, for we'll find ways to make it work, yeah. Whether the like whether the they're I think we can leave the two rivers. Like maybe we don't call it two rivers, but I think I think a sitcom about the f about the ⁓ the original EF is really funny. I can't wait to write for Nynaeve. ⁓ my god. I'm playing Nynaeve in this version of it. I just wanna I'm putting that out there. Because I because I'm like 'cause she's like she's the annoying person. Yeah. Like can we like actually produce episodes as an audio series? Is it gonna infringe your copyright? I don't know. I mean, not if we do it as like a well we're not trying to like get income. No, but if you put it in as a podcast or you put it on YouTube and there's a possibility of monetizing it, then it does become Yeah. Like it that does become a little bit of a of a thing. Like, yeah. You can't really 'cause like like so Kate McKinnon's doing an audio book series right now that's like fucking hilarious with her sister with Emily and Emily Lynn and it's Like it's really funny. It's about a queen who's like passing her reproductive years and like worried about not having an heir. It's anyway, it's level. ⁓ but but that's like original stuff. Like they're obviously like writing their, you know. ⁓ my god, the Kardashians and the ⁓ tr Tricans. Yeah, I was like that you must be talking about the royal family of Andor. Yeah. Yes. ⁓ my god. And the damn Madreads, maybe too. Okay. Why are these all turning into reality television though? I don't know. I I hate reality TV. I do. Well, okay, okay. I love okay. So this is great. I love this. I feel like we already like got a big like no I'm not saying stop. I'm just saying no, I'm saying like I think I think what we do is like I think that the the this the the the origin of this being like w wheel of time is a sitcom is perfect, but I'm now looking at it as like okay. Here's the property, here's the world of wheel of time. Like which different things can you plug into which different genres? Like we've got our you know, our sitcom is the EF5, and then we have you know, and then like our hour. White tower is a mockumentary. Yeah, where's the procedural? Like what, you know, what which one is our NCIS? Like, and it might be maybe it's the White Cloaks. I'm not sure. No, or there's the White Cloaks is just like no, the White Cloaks is like ⁓ what's the what's the The crown. Like what's you know, like a religious like fervor show? I mean the crown is like because the royal family is a religion, but ⁓ the you know. ⁓ I'm not sure where the white cloaks fit in or like how that fits in, but like we need a procedural. Like where's the hospital? Is it a hospital procedural or is it a detective procedural? The yellow Aja corridors. ⁓ or like Tom ⁓ wait, go back to Tom Marilyn and it's Tom Marilyn as As a spy, like as a as a PI, but he's also a Gleeman. Like people don't know he's like getting all the secrets. But a flamboyant Sherlock Holmes, yes. ⁓ of course. And no one knows that he's like getting and it's just called the Gleeman. I'm I'm and I'm also just putting yellow Aja quarters, Gray's Anatomy. Or whatever. That could be interesting. ⁓ god, yeah, like s just we need Yeah, th we could have some real fun different types of ⁓ my god. I know. ⁓ my god, these are really fun. Yeah, LBF, what did you do? What did do I just shared the document with you guys. So You gave us a lot of content. So every time every time I go to my favorite show at the Groundlings, it's not one of their main sh it's a main show, but it's like my favorite show is their Wednesday night show. It's called the Crazy Uncle Joe show. I've taken E Mag. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. It's just delightful. It's a really fun form of like it's long form improv but short form s it's like It's long form style, but it's all it's just fun and it's all new every week. It's all different every week. Every single time I go, my friend Roy Jenkins usually runs the shows when he goes like he's kind of the the head of it, sort of. But ⁓ but he always every time says and we always want to thank, you know, our friend Holly Mandel who helped us like create this this style of improv. So I feel like every time we start our Sick Hop speech say, We would like to thank LBF for sending us down this path. Yes. ⁓ We'd like to start our show tonight by thanking LBF for his inspiration in giving us twenty six thousand character ideas. Yeah, we ⁓ we we pretty much have the podcast Hall of the Tower like the office. ⁓ my god. I mean that's the other we read. Is there anyone? I haven't act do know what I've never actually watched The Office? Either of them. Either one? The British one too? I included yeah, I've never I should watch the British one now. but yeah, I haven't watched either of them. I know enough about them to understand their memes. Particularly the v the the more famous memes. When you get like a real obscure meme about like an episode that wasn't quite as like or a meme that's not used heavily, then I'm a little bit like, mm, I need some context to understand this. But there's been enough people like chat about things and then drop a meme from any of the offices where I'm like, There's there's so much chat that's gone on or or context that's been dropped with this that I understand what happened in the episode almost. You know, I understand the reference from the scene. So yeah. For example, like I've seen the full clip from that 526,600 milli I thought that was a random song until I saw the full clip from the episode. I'm like, ⁓ it's a goodbye for someone who's quit their job and it was Steve Current. But that's from Rent! But it's from Rent. Well, I've never seen the musical. Well there you go. So it's a parody of a party. ⁓ Okay. It was sixteen plays in four years from a wheel of time person was in it pretty much. So I've seen out like four of our plays that didn't contain a wheel of time person, all right? So shh. I love how Jen and I are just like quiet. We're like, but that's right. We're we were waiting for you to take the next step to be like it was from the thing, but then you went to the first the second thing and said, Yeah, anyway, that's that's hilarious. We okay, also I'm both heavily educated in some things and mildly no heavily ignorant in other things, and otherwise mild. Heavily ignorant in other things, okay? No, no, no. Not a nice. You are you are the theater nerd among the three of us at this point. Yes, you are. I've still not even seen Hamilton, okay? And I helped film a How Hamilton parody for what Idle this year. So yeah, I've still not seen Hamilton. You have to cut that! No i why? The the one from the one from the the the Lor the one Lauren did last year. No, I don't have to cut that. No, he's talking about what he's doing this. No, he's talking about the one Lauren did last year. No, no, no, I helped film one for this year. ⁓ I don't have to cut that. Because I hadn't revealed what song it is, the theme, who did it, anything like that. So I just have to And it's also like a week and a half away. Yeah, exactly. Like by the time this comes out, entries will have closed, so you know. Yeah. I haven't released the song. Right. That's exactly true. They're really sad. That's true. That's true. So so Lucy D I just found out Lucy Davis was in the original British office, by the way. I love Lucy Davis so much. She was I probably recognize her face. Well she played the she played the general role in the like in the in the British office, but she's also in ⁓ she's in she's in Shawn of the Dead. She's fucking amazing in Sean of the Dead. But she was also she also plays Steve Trevor's secretary in Wonder Woman, which was one of the highest Highlights of that movie for me. She's so fucking funny. She plays ⁓ one of the aunts in not Hilda, who's the other aunt in ⁓ Sabrina the Teenage Witch. ⁓ right! Right. She's absolutely I do know who you're doing right now, yeah. Mm-hmm. Yes. So she's not she's not the uptight Hil. She's in in that particular new new version of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Yeah. ⁓ the chilling adventures, I think it's called. ⁓ she plays the the dopey cool cooler aunt who actually eventually stands up to Hilda for being a bitch. did appreciate that new version actually. I liked it. It was a good retelling of the the original T V show. I appreciated it. ⁓ especially no wait, have you both seen it? No. No. Okay, don't want to give spoilers. Wait, are we onto the original? Megan is I mean the original Sabrina? Like with Melissa Jones? Yes, of course. That was like bit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever. Honestly, when when a phone rings and no one's picking it up, I still do the Salem phone. ⁓ Hilarious. Where he's like sleeping next to the phone and he's like just pokes up the model, the the animatronic, whatever it was, because it wasn't a real cat most of the time. ⁓ Yeah. ⁓ ⁓ I s I really should have called my black cat Salem. Anyway, moving on. Sorry, segue. Yes, moving on I need to send a quick shout out to Lucy Lucy Davis. She actually just recently ⁓ revealed a cancer diagnosis, a pretty aggressive cancer diagnosis. So shout out to Lucy Davis. We love you, we love you, we love you. You are absolutely brilliant. And get little Aja healing vibes. Yes, please. It's gonna repeat. Yes, yes, yes. ⁓ I and you are millennials. What? Yeah, I'm okay with that. I know. Max's no one in denial. Okay, I'm fine with it too. I'm yeah, yeah, exactly. I'm like I'm a millennial, yeah. I'm an I'm an elder millennial actually, if you let's get specific. Yes, we are elder or geriatric millennials. I've also no, I'm not that. I'm not that. I also hilarious. I love the millennials of like the glorious bastard style. I like that LBF. Yeah. I think that Yeah, yeah, yeah. Definitely. Sorry. It is so good. No, it's good. It's good. Ladies and gents, this is what we call an organic three thought talk episode. Most of the time they are fairly I wanna say structured in a loose sense of the word where we have something we're talking about and we like mostly stick on that. But sometimes things just come in and segue us and we just run with it because that's that's what we think is fun and that's what we enjoy and we do this because we enjoy it. So this is a very organic episode and I hope you're enjoying it also. Jen has a cat running all over her desk who is looking very beautiful and snugly and cute. And and very and very needy. Are you needy? Here can you pour into the microphone? She's so sweet. Honey I can't hold it. What is this one's name? I'm keeping this one. This is Tati. This is Tati. She's She's doing the shoulder thing. I've been training Suan to do Sulein the cat, by the way, not Sulein my face. I've been trying to train. I just got an image. Yeah. Sulein's sat on my shoulders. I'd have to get a drunk thirst for her to do that. She wouldn't be brave enough. So let me say that ⁓ if any of all y'all who are taking these vests eventually pff she's really sheddy right now and I am ⁓ If you're if anybody's allergic to cats, let me know. I will clean this before I send this one. But I did find out a really good. Mel's allergic to cats. Is she actually allergic to cats? Okay. Well, she's a Siamese, so she's not. ⁓ I will brush this very clean or it will be the one that stays here. But in any case, ⁓ it's also this she's she climbs up on our shoulders all the time. I can't feel her face. ⁓ Because it's a really good punch for her. It's perfect. It's beautiful. It's cute. I wasn't gonna let her climb on it. So starting next time, maybe do we feel like it's I feel like it's a good point to wrap up because we're not gonna start writing now. We're we're learning an hour now to record. So yeah. Okay, ⁓ so we're back again in a couple weeks. Uh-huh. So we'll chit chat in between and debate on maybe we should just start with like the two rivers idea with the EFI, like Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure. Like find our swing. Yeah. I don't know why I said it in that particular way, but you know, Wait, we gotta get Wayne's World in here somehow and I don't know how. We'll find a Wayne's World reference somehow. ⁓ that should be part of the part of like our gimmick is that we put in references from ⁓ pop culture. You know, like really, really low key. You know, not like in your face like Ready Player One or something like that, which basically quoted different things. ⁓ Yeah, that'd be fun. Okay. ⁓ so yeah, we'll chit chat before the next recording. ⁓ and and kick off writing our sitcoms. So thank you, LBF. Really appreciate that. ⁓ Waynes World, Tom's Maryland's apprentices trying to make the road show. ⁓ my god. ⁓ That sounds like a parody show. ⁓ I love that. So yeah. ⁓ thank you so much for hanging out and listening to us folks. ⁓ remember the link to the prop store auction will be in the description to the show. I will be promoting it on the channels and stuff when it comes around. I will be sitting there crying at the things I can't afford to bid on. ⁓ and I will will accept applications for a sugar person to help me acquire things. ⁓ you know, ⁓ because I am not beneath that. I love Wheel of Time. None of us are. None of us are. Look, I love Wheel of Time. I'm gonna be honest, I'm not beneath that. So, you know. Think of me what you will. All right. I love Wheel of Time. Let me ask, ⁓ let me ask does this come out before ⁓ MalcuryCon? ⁓ it does. Yes, folks, if you're listening this ⁓ on release day or very, very shortly afterwards, MalcuryCon is kicking off the next couple days. It is September fourth, fifth and sixth. ⁓ if you want to get yourself a virtual ticket, they are available. Go to MalKitTalks.com slash Malkiricon, where you'll be able to hang out and enjoy all of the streams, watch them back at your leisure if you can't watch them live. That will include an interview with Bjorn Lamberg, who plays Ruach, where we'll we will be revealing to him that we have purchased the Mayel armor and see how he thinks about that. He's probably jealous because I pretty I'm 99% sure he does not have Bjorn's outfit. so please go and do that and join us. ⁓ also you will be able to, if you join virtually, be able to get access to the charity auction that's happening. ⁓ and provided you can find someone to coordinate collecting the item and getting it to you at your own cost, liaising with them, ⁓ you're able to bid on the auction as well and find items that you, you know, once they're home. It did happen last year, a couple of our regulars who couldn't make it bid virtually and ⁓ organise with another attendee to collect the item and get it to them. So Which I think was the moraine poster ⁓ from from the season three premiere. They bid on that and ⁓ yeah. And we got some real fun things in the auction this year. ⁓ a beautiful handcrafted leather bag from ⁓ my my brain has gone completely now. Who makes those for us? ⁓ Tir ⁓ Trian. Trian, the amazing level worker who does ⁓ amazing amazing stuff. ⁓ a backpack. Do you have some level work from her? I have a couple things, but nothing that really shows yeah, there's a good ⁓ good example of a My dice cup. Dice cup. She's made like a like a small backpack from leather, which is worth hundreds in not just in cost of of materials, but also in time of work. And we have a beautiful bespoke ⁓ calligraphy production of the Minephrine speech from Moraine ⁓ on a giant like A free sheet that's been donated by another regular attendee, ⁓ Amon's air. ⁓ which is absolutely stunning and it really is is something to behold. So ⁓ I'm looking forward to people seeing that and all all wonderful good prizes in between. Including I'm pretty certain ⁓ I've said today I was gonna add it in and now I've just realized I'm not sure exactly where it is, but I'm pretty sure there's a goodie bag from the Fashion and Fantasy exhibition last year as well that I'm gonna put it to. ⁓ so yeah, good fun. And you'll just hear about what's happening next year, ⁓ where we're off to Croatia. You'll get details about that at closing ceremony, as well as an extremely special announcement happening in closing ceremonies about next year's event. So yeah. So MACITTalks.com slash MalCuricon for those tickets. And I think that's it. You gotta like the video or the podcast. You gotta rate us and review us five stars. You gotta put a card on YouTube, wherever you're listening, whatever you're doing, do those things. You can go and enjoy the show by following us on Instagram and on Blue Sky. The links to those are in the description because I can't remember off the top of my head and I'm not gonna try and butcher them. And I think that's about it. So shout out to LBF again for helping us discover new content to make. Not that didn't enjoy the writing, we very much do, but this seems like a lot of fun, so we'll tinker. We maybe know. In ten years, maybe we'll finish writing the Wheel of Time. It'll happen. It'll happen. Absolutely. Thank you so much, OBF. Best freewheeling show ever. I love that. ⁓ and that's it. So we will see you next time. Goodbye. Once again, we've proven that even when you're the third wheel, you can always find a place to fit in. Join us next time on three wheeling. On three wheeling. On free wheeling.
