Weekly programming resuming Sept 6th

A fruitful summer break

I think it was a solid decision on my part to take the summer off from weekly programming — it allowed me to finish up a short film that I’ve been serving as film editor and audio engineer for, plus composing the score for it, along with getting set up in my studio space and building up momentum with my visual art. I’ve already had my first exhibition, a number of pieces sold this summer, my first commission completed, and retooling the app that I use to process incoming submissions and produce the programming here on The Relay Station. Extremely productive with very little time wasted.

New radio stations picking up the programming

Thanks to our partnership with AudioPort of the Pacifica Network, we’ve been expanding our reach. I wanted to take a moment to welcome some of our latest carriers — WHPW 97.3 FM in Harpswell, Maine, KYAQ 91.7 FM in Newport, Oregon, and WKFH-LP 94.3 in Wimberley, Texas. Welcome aboard, friends and travelers!

If your local community radio station hasn’t yet picked up the programming — reach out to their program director and tell them to carry The Relay Station. The syndicated show is available on the Public Radio Exchange (PRX) and Pacifica Network’s AudioPort, as well as synchronized cloud-hosted files through pCloud.

Become a supporter of The Relay Station

At the risk of sounding like cracked vinyl, please step up and become a monthly supporter of The Relay Station. You can either upgrade to a paid subscription here, or set your own amount at the support page. Your monthly financial contributions of any amount go a long way towards helping further produce, improve, and promote the programming.

Musicians, keep submitting your ambient music

The ambient music genre is already underserved, and it can feel like an uphill climb going at it all on your own. Well, The Relay Station is in your corner, tirelessly working to help give your music some love and attention.

Join our lineup of independent and signed musicians that have been faithfully submitting their music to the programming and yielding results! More and more ambient music lovers are discovering their music through the programming — and that’s what it’s all about, connecting music lovers to your music.

Submit your music today for consideration for airplay on The Relay Station. But please do read through the information there to make sure your music is a good fit for the programming. While I absolutely love listening to that EDM banger you worked hard on, the drums will kill its chances of being aired on the show. So please take a moment, remind yourself of what we’re looking for!
