Cameron Bagg: Yeah, I think you did it. It's even her I I don't even know what it means. So no, just kidding.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Cameron, welcome, my friend. Yeah.
Cameron Bagg: Thank you. Thank you. It's great to be.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah. As I was saying, just off there, this is the quickest turnaround from invite to recording in my history, because I think I messaged you late last night and we booked it in for tonight because you've got something really exciting coming up in the next few weeks, which we'll
Cameron Bagg: Thanks, yeah.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: talk about in a few minutes. But before we really dig into that. How did your paranormal journey begin?
Cameron Bagg: Well, that's going way back. You have to hop in your TARDIS and go back to nineteen eighty-eight.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Okay, I can do that.
Cameron Bagg: so you know, back back in nineteen eighty-eight, I was way younger. And I was kind of like the David Tennant of the Ghost Hunters. And that's my last Doctor Who reference for the night.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Are you sure? Are you sure about that?
Cameron Bagg: it slips out every now and then.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: You
Cameron Bagg: But It was nineteen eighty-eight. I was a whole different person. I was just happy to be working. I was getting married. I was starting a new family. And so my first journey into this new life was moving into the wife's apartment. And it was a small, fairly small building, and I and I never thought anything about it when she mentioned to me, you know, I've got a weird radio. It comes on by itself through the night, but it shuts off on its own. And I just thought that's weird. We'll maybe get it looked at. It was an old pioneer system. And so I moved into the apartment, happy as a as a pig, and you know what. And so, but then it started to change really quickly. I I developed what I can best describe as feelings of of paranoia, confusion. when I would go to bed at night, no sooner would my eyes close and I would have that sense of being watched. And I would often feel like there was a face right over mine. And I'd I'd sit up, I'd I'd jump up out of bed almost like I was confronting what was there. And sometimes, admittedly, I would feel the presence back into the closet. And sometimes I would feel it go off into the hallway. And I would I would walk down into the other part of the apartment just looking. I I just felt that sense of being pulled along. Not seeing anything, and I'm certainly not thinking ghosts. It's just a weird sensation. And then very quickly stranger things began to happen. And about three nights of the week I would I would wake up to sounds of cutlery or dishes being rattled around in the kitchen sink. And it would just be clatter, clatter, clatter. I'd jump up out of bed thinking somebody's broken into the house. They're making a sandwich or something. So I'd go, you know, running down the hallway and my boxers ready to confront whatever. And there'd be nobody in the kitchen, nobody in the apartment. Sometimes I would feel that I had to go and look outside on the balcony, thinking somebody went out on the balcony. There was nobody there. Sometimes I'd open the apartment door to the hallway and there was nobody running down the hallway with mustard or anything. So we just You know, just sort of brushed it off. This is strange. I put it down to it's a new building, new new environment for me. But there was also the sensation when I would have a shower. I never felt like I was alone. There always felt like there was somebody in the shower or in the bathroom with me. And I learned not to get water in my eyes. I always wanted to keep keep aware of my surroundings. And many times I'd throw open the curtain expecting to see the wife had snuck in or something. but it was just always ended up just being me. And there are many times if you were just sitting in the in the living room, you just had that sense of being stared at, like somebody was poking their head around the corner, looking at you. So moving along a bit, after a few months, we had our first child, and that was when the experiences became more physical, I guess. there was a There was a day where I was sitting in the living room with a coffee in one hand and I was reading a book and the wife runs into the living room and she stops and looks at me and I'm like, What? And she says, did you just smack my bottom? And we did play jokes on each other, but I said, No, no, I didn't do anything this time. And and she goes, Well, she explained how she was bent over the crib and somebody gave her a good smack on the backside, and she goes, I know you don't run that fast, so It was just really weird. And so we just looked at each other and shrugged and just went on with our day. Now, and again, I don't think the subject ghost ever came up in our conversations. now there was another day I was looking after my daughter, and I'd recently changed her diaper, and I'm I'm carrying her back to put her in one of those baby walkers, and so I'm stepping over a vacuum hose. And I had to physically step over her baby bottle, which was standing upright on the floor. And the thought I had, and to this day I'm not sure if it was my thought or someone else's thought, but the thought was, I'll give the baby her bottle. I stepped over the bottle, put the baby in the walker, and as I reached for the bottle, it was no longer on the ground, it was up on the table in front of my daughter. So that was like, you know, one of those glitch moments where I'm lifting my leg up and down, saying to myself, I just stepped over that. How did that happen? That's really weird. And you know, as you as you get into paranormal research later, you understand about apportations. It's sort of like a a spirit trick they use where they can do that instantaneous movement. so still not thinking ghosts, and it wasn't until there was a weekend. This is about two years into living there. We had my young niece was over for a visit, and we'd been out shopping, and her and I came up to get her bags, and I was going to take her back home to Peterborough. And as we go to open the door to walk into the apartment, I hear a female voice say, Cam, and I knew nobody was home, so I just shrugged it off. But my my eight-year-old niece goes, Uncle Cam. A lady just called you. So now I'm like, okay, that's that's interesting. And that was kind of my Eureka moment where I'm like, I've got a ghost. Now I didn't want to scare my niece, but I looked in all the closets and took her stuff home. And when we got to when we got back to her home, her mother s described how she had an experience in our apartment when she was staying. one weekend, but she was afraid to tell anybody for fear people would think she was crazy. And she described how the phone rang one day and she answered it. And it was a garbled voice, like a fax line. And a male was saying angrily something to her. She goes, I can't understand what you're saying. You'll have to phone back. And she put the phone down. It was a big clunky cordless phone from the 80s. And she said, as soon as she put it down, it rang immediately. And she said it sounded angry when it rang. And she goes, hello. And now the voice, the male, is yelling at her through this fax line. And she goes, Listen, I'm gonna have Belle trace this call. Don't phone back. And she hung up. And as she put the phone down, she just turned and she saw behind her in the dining room area motes of white light coming together, like a person. Beaming up or down in Star Trek movies. And it was taking the form of a five-foot-tall person. And she was she was scared. And she goes, Listen, these are her words. She goes, Whatever the hell you are, you're not wanted. Go away. And then the lights just went boop, boop, boop and disappeared. And then my sister went out on the balcony and smoked a pack of cigarettes until we came home. but she didn't say anything. And again, that's something else we found out, sharing our stories. A neighbor that would look after our cat from time to time said, she knew our house was haunted because when she was alone in the apartment sometimes, she would hear a female voice call my name again. So the spirit we had recognized my presence, I guess. And this woman, she said the last time she looked after the cat, she just gave it extra food and she wasn't going to be alone in the apartment anymore. So now here's where we make that cross into Ghost ghost research is asking questions. And I learned just from this moment alone, you gotta ask questions. There's nothing wrong with that. And so we asked the superintendents who lived in the building before us. And there was an older couple, and they remember the older man went to the Baycrest Geriatric Center to spend his last days, and he was probably long gone. And they remember the woman, she died in the kitchen. And they couldn't remember if it was from a stroke or a heart attack, but she was found in the kitchen. And that kind of explains that was her place where the dishes would rattle. So we didn't ask the name or anything. That was kind of like case closed in the early days. And so that was that was exciting. Now I didn't get to spend much more time investigating because unfortunately, you know, being younger, the wife and I, we were just Destined for divorce, and our relationship was going to go in different directions. So I ended up moving out. And on the day I was moving out, I had the elevator in use. And you're just in your own melancholy type thoughts, you know. You're just deep in thoughts, thinking about decisions made, decisions to make. And I'm loading up my truck out the back door of the apartment. And all of a sudden, I had that. That sense of being stared at. And I look up, and there was just this little old lady standing in the corner of the hallway and quiet. And when I said hello to her, she was actually startled, as if I could see her andor that I noticed her. And she had gray hair, a little too much red on her cheeks, and she was wearing a gray tweed jacket with pastel flowerettes on it. Very, very striking, almost like Mary Tyler Moore would wear. And when I said hi, she was startled and then she, but there was no noise, and she just nodded at me, looked sheepishly, and then she walked to the front of the building and I thought, that's really weird. And then it dawned on me, could that be my ghost? And so I went to see where she was going. And as I popped my head around, she was gone. She didn't She didn't go on the elevator. She didn't run out the front of the building. So that was my my first experience over two years. It took me to realize we're surrounded by ghosts. And now I'm on fire. It's like I'm seeing the world like Neo Neo in the Matrix. It's like I'm realizing there's more to be seen here. And so I went off in search of more paranormal adventures, I guess. And
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Okay, so prior to 1988, what was your thoughts about the paranormal? Because we're probably of a similar age and back in the day, if you were talking about ghosts or cryptids or UFOs, people basically went, okay, go and sit in the corner, be quiet, don't say a word. Yeah,
Cameron Bagg: Uh-huh.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: and people didn't really believe you. So what was your kind of thoughts on the paranormal prior to 1988?
Cameron Bagg: You know what? It was it was something fun, I guess, if anything. I grew up watching Scooby-Doo. Love Scooby-Doo even to today. He's kind of like my unofficial mascot. And
Lee - Paranormal Prism: you
Cameron Bagg: and Casper the Friendly Ghost, but you didn't take anything like that seriously growing up. It was it was no different than reading a Spider-Man comic book, really. And you know, in in the household I grew up in, you know, my dad was from that generation where even on some chance if I asked at the dinner table, hey dad, do you think ghosts are real? The newspaper would have come down and he would have just gone you know, would have gone back up I'm crazy. So
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah.
Cameron Bagg: the topic was never brought up, you know, and so I never gave it there was never any interest. There was never any thought. I didn't believe or disbelieve, but I find the crucial ingredient in believers and non-believers as experiencers and having that experience. And having that experience hooked me. Otherwise, if I didn't have my own experience, when somebody tells you their story, like many of your viewers might be listening to me thinking, I don't know what to make of this guy. But once you've had an experience, you kind of get it, the subtleties and the liminal space thing, especially. so you have to experience I experience it, I think. And I feel I feel great for people that have never experienced that. They might go through life and just enjoy whatever skill or trade they're working in and thrive in that environment. I'm happy for them. I'm glad they're not worried about that specter that stands in the corner at night watching you while you're trying to sleep. but at the same time they're different worlds and I wouldn't go back to that old world for anything now. I enjoy seeking the unseen, documenting it, photographing it, and that's become my specialty over the years now, through strokes of luck along the way, realizing that we can photograph spirit any time and any place now. It's fascinating, fascinating stuff.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: So when you was experiencing what you did in the apartment with her being kind of that stereotypical little old lady kind of thing, did you get the sensation of it being like a comforting experience or was there any like, malevolent feelings during that time?
Cameron Bagg: You know, I'll be I'll be honest with you, and I haven't shared this publicly with anybody, to be honest. you know, with the relationship the way it was with my wife and I, and knowing that it wasn't going the direction you think it's going, there was a lot of sadness that I experienced there. So, you know, there were many nights where I felt this incredible. I won't say it was a depression, but I would say there was a heaviness to being in that apartment. And I wonder I often wonder if sometimes if that spirit impressed that upon me. because otherwise I'm usually a fun, outgoing guy, you know. I was always just interested in you know, working, having dinner with friends and playing Nintendo back in the day, back then. so there was a certain heaviness there, but out of that heaviness in that period, I came to learn my superpower. And I understand now the difference between well when you when you have that sense of being stared at. So that was something I learned from that apartment. When I would look and there's nobody there, eventually I realized, well, sometimes when you just because you don't see somebody staring at you. that's a good chance it's a it's a ghost staring at you or s or a spirit trying to make a connection. So that over the years I realize has become my superpower now.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: So the fact that you
Cameron Bagg: Yeah.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: saw this spirit of the elderly lady, do you consider yourself one of these individuals that have any kind of abilities, whether it be mediumistic, psychic or anything like that?
Cameron Bagg: I have to work at it, to be honest. I think we're we all have those abilities to s greater and lesser degrees. I'm married to a wonderful woman now that is a very gifted psychic medium, and she is a wonderful benefit to take into a haunted home. And she can describe, you know, the little old lady in the pink bathrobe walking around the basement or whoever whoever is haunting the home. So that's wonderful. There are gifted people like that for myself. I have to alter my state of consciousness. I have to work at it. And that that really is, I think, the key. I think some people like your psychic and mediums, they might have a better vehicle, you could think. They're better on the clutch and the stick, and they can shift into those gears better. I'm driving a clunker here, okay. And I've got to work at it a little bit and talk to it. Come on, baby, give me a give me a ghost here. so I need to alter my state. And I've always I was I was always turned on by Carlos Castaneda, the the author of the Yaki Way of Knowledge and The Tales of Power. And I I was fascinated by those stories. And I always thought, well, what he's doing, I don't think you need to be taking payote or any sort of chemical substance. I think we have that ability that if we really work on it, we can use it. So I've always, you know, in my book I talk about dabbling with the altered states thing myself. And I've always been excited in that because I believe, you know, it's our consciousness. We're trying to bring it into other areas of consciousness, the universal consciousness. And so you just have when you have those moments of altered states, That's when you're usually having your connection. Like, and that's when I have seen things I've realized. Like, it's almost like when you're in that focused, relaxed state. And a good example of that is I had a spirit in my home one day. And I was just up late at night. I was very relaxed watching TV, but I was just channel surfing, you know, up and down the channels. And then all of a sudden I saw the spirit out of the corner of my eye. And so it it really does yeah, I think it helps to be in that altered state of consciousness.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, because, yeah, I'm kind of like you where, yeah, I don't think I've got any abilities, but I have had a medium say that I do. But, you know, kind of like, when do people find the time to kind of like, okay, I'm just going to sit down and like you say, you know, get to that altered state of mind. But At what point did you then, after you'd experienced the old lady in the apartment, decide that I want to research this more, I want to investigate more?
Cameron Bagg: It was instantaneous. I went off back back then the internet was just a dream still, you know, maybe the military was using it. so you go to the bookstores and you you look up the articles every Halloween there's always articles on the local hauntings. And so I would go to those local hauntings, those local businesses and introduce myself, tell them of my interest and That was where I had my first taste where I would have businesses saying, Well, here, listen, here's the key to lock up the basement when you're done. Let me know if you find anything. It was a whole different world back then. People were very generous, open. They wanted to understand things too with at their hauntings. And I found that, you know, I'd have case after case, just very casually, and before I knew it, I guess I was I became becoming a ghost hunter was kind of thrust upon me. I didn't know what to call myself and over the years I've I've called myself many things haunt scene investigator, ghost hunter, paranormal investigator, and as you brought up at the start, paranormal mystigog, because I like to think I've I've made some sense out of all of this weird stuff over the years now, where I started off very I didn't know what was going on. Now I kind of know what's going on and I'm happy with it.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, and yeah, I was a skeptic for the longest time and it wasn't until I had an incident when I was in the UK that it kind of like, I won't say flip my world upside down, but it made me realize that there was more out there. And yeah. I do find that, yeah, I'm now gonna add the word, what do you say, Mr. Gog, I'm gonna add that to my repertoire of words now, because I'm a Mr. Gog and people are gonna go, what are you talking about? But I do find that you've kind of got those two different groups. You've got the ghost hunters per se. that you get termed that because they will go out on a Friday or Saturday night and they want to get scared. Whereas
Cameron Bagg: Mm-hmm.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: then you've got the dedicated paranormal investigator that they can sit in a dark room for eight hours and not have anything. But the objective of the exercise is to try to prove the existence of. And yeah, you see that some of them use a lot of bells and whistles nowadays. But yeah, when you speak to a lot of people, go, you've got to go back to the basics. Like, yeah, a camera is useful, an audio recorder is useful, but then you've also got to use your senses as well.
Cameron Bagg: Yep. definitely. Well, in a lot of cases you
Lee - Paranormal Prism: So, I'll look.
Cameron Bagg: get called into you're dealing with, you know, you know, a witness statement. Sometimes that's all you're gonna get is you know, some interesting phenomena. But thankfully with like my my skills have evolved with just your basic digital point and shoot cameras, they're wonderful. And I use this just as basic Sony point and shoot at every investigation now and it corroborates what the witnesses are telling me if they're honest, you know. very rare do you get s a glory hunter that's made something up. I think I've had two situations where, you know, I've had somebody approach me and I felt that they were looking more for a TV show rather than solutions. And those ones I just sort of stepped back from. I'm all about helping people that need help. And and I'm the guy I know I've learned with hauntings now, it's not always about a ghost or a spirit. It can be also a shadow being or a shadow protect projection. And sometimes they're created by a living agent in the house. And so I think the the best tool I have in my kit is if I can discern, you know, the energies are created by a living person in the household. I have to ask the tough questions, what's going on with the family dynamics? Is there any animosity between mom and the daughter or dad and the son or whatever? And sometimes when you point out those little bumps in the road, all of a sudden some of the frightening stuff, the person gets it and they're like, my god, I gotta talk to my son or daughter. And that usually resolves the haunting.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: That's it. what you've just mentioned could stereotypically be the cause of a poltergeist. Adolescent teenager going through troubles, and it's that buildup of energy that can create these things to happen. Like you say, once that issue kind of gets resolved, then a lot of the activity fizzles out, so to speak. But if I get asked to do an investigation, I kind of have like a questionnaire, if you like. And I literally go through like, how many occupants are there in the house? What ages are there? What do you know about the history of the house? What do you know about the previous residents? I go through all this kind of stuff. And then because I've got a background in, like I was a paramedic for like 13, 14 years, I then kind of go, okay, does anybody have any mental health issues? Is anybody
Cameron Bagg: Uh-huh.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: using recreational or illegal drugs? And so at least that way, you are getting that bigger picture. of you know what you're walking into. But then I'm also one of these people where I would go, well, did you know that if you have faulty wiring, it can give off electromagnetic fields? And if that's bad enough, it can create hallucinations, as can black mold, as can carbon monoxide. it's like, if it just, so. I kind of prepare them for some of the questions that I'm going to ask. Plus, I give them solutions of the natural before we go down the paranormal and the supernatural route. So are you kind of the same kind of mentality on that?
Cameron Bagg: Hundred percent. Hundred and two percent. We're we're we're of one mind, my friend. I do a whole chapter in my book on EMF detectors and some of the cases I solved or resolved with you know, there's we have a jail down here, the Coburg Jail, and it's it's a tourist place, it's a boutique hotel, but they have this one room they cannot rent out because people come down to the desk at two in the morning and say they want a different room or they want to leave. People cannot sleep in that room and but they're not saying it's haunted. They're not seeing anything. So I'm like, I know what that is, right? And so I bring in my EMF detector. And we actually was I was doing this for a television show and I thought I'm gonna be really smart and I'm just gonna go around the room with it, around the walls and show them where the hot wires are. Well there were no hot wires. And then I'm like, damn. Then I sat down on the bed
Lee - Paranormal Prism: You
Cameron Bagg: with the with the EMF on my hand. And as it went lower, it just went off like a like you know, Christmas. all the lights were going. Turned out that it was heavy industrial lighting below the room, and it was giving a dirty energy bleed that would have been about a level two where your pillow is. And you know, that's a level, you don't want to be in for a long period of time. And so I I saw that case and I gave them suggestions where you know you could either raise the bed up another four inches or or also you could just use Faraday shielding and try to block the energy from coming through. They they didn't do either one. They still live with the problem today. But for me I'm like that's that's what I'm all about. That's what I love to solve.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, and we went to a Airbnb and the owner's going, it was haunted. Yeah, Airbnb. And he sat in the dining room when the host is going. yeah, there's a lot of activity that's said to happen around the dining room table and then there's a lot of activity that happens in the lounge and it was kind of like two squares that were kind of offset from each other. So you've got kind of got your dining room here and then your lounge and then the kitchen was in front. So yeah, I'm not a fan of the K2 because it's kind of a little bit basic for what I prefer. So
Cameron Bagg: Mm-hmm.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: I have a try field. you can get recordings and you can document everything and I put the trifield on the table and it's you know the needle's doing a little bit of a happy dance and she's going yeah there's a lot of activity here so said well what's below? And went an identical apartment. I went okay and it was a very old house you're talking over 150 years so the fact that she'd mentioned about the dining room and the lounge After she'd left, I put the trifield on the floor and it was like really going high. And I'm thinking, yeah, it's probably the electric wiring from the apartment below hasn't been renewed in X amount of years. And then I went into the, into the lounge and there was kind of like two sofas in like an L shape. against
Cameron Bagg: Mm-hmm.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: one and the trifield was going crazy again. And I went, hang on a minute. The kitchen is behind this wall. walk around into the kitchen there's a big power box on the kitchen on the kitchen wall but yeah this woman was kind of selling it as a haunted location not saying that we didn't get things happen but the two biggest areas were probably more due to like EMF and dodgy wiring rather than like anything
Cameron Bagg: Mm-hmm.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: paranormal but yeah she she was yeah she was an old retired girl and she was making money from it so i'm not going to burst a bubble by saying you probably got dodgy wiring yeah because yeah that's that's completely unfair yeah but so yeah definitely on the kind of on on same wavelength there then so yeah
Cameron Bagg: Yeah. definitely. And you know what? It is kind of disappointing in some ways. Like we feel smart when we solve that mystery, you know, like we're a little bit Sherlock Holmesy, but
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah.
Cameron Bagg: at the same time it's like, No, I would have loved to have got a really good spirit here. But we solved the case, you know?
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah. But in that same location, yeah, and you can call this coincidence if you want. We, I think, I can't remember if we using an Ovilus at the time or was using another device that was shouting out words, but we got the owner's name and then we got either sick or ill or something like that. I put it down to coincidence, no sooner as it said sick and ill. an ambulance came down the road, because you can see the flashing lights and parked right outside the property. And I'm going like, no shit. There's no way that this is, but it's got to be a coincidence. after five minutes, the ambulance turned around and like drove away. I went, what are the chances of getting these similar words and then an emergency vehicle comes down the road? So it's kind of, yeah, is it a coincidence?
Cameron Bagg: I know. I know.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: So, wait.
Cameron Bagg: I wonder I wonder about those devices because they're very good at parroting names of people. You know, and I like we've been I don't use them myself because I try to just go for the photographic or the EVPs. I keep it simple and because they can bring up because sometimes I feel you could get maybe information that has no relationship to anything. And then you're like, then you're going down the rabbit hole. And
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah.
Cameron Bagg: so, but I found that they do seem to, no matter where you are with them, it seems like if there's a name that's the more common name that's mentioned, it parrots the name. And I know these devices are made with randomizer technology, like slot machines. And I wonder, you know, just like your your computers, your televisions, your monitors. They can hear everything you want and then they parrot back an advertisement that meets your needs. So it'd be very easy for these devices to parrot back a name in a digital tone.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, and what I always tell people, if you're going to use one of these devices, whether it be on your cell phone or a spirit box or whatever, if you ask a question and the response you get relates to that question, then potentially you've got a hit. So if you say, what day is it? And then you hear Tuesday, it's kind of a connection. But then if you say what day it is, and it comes out with blue or purple or something, then there's absolutely no connection. You can't force that word into the investigation. But a few of us went to this private investigation out towards Quebec. And it was a colleague that I used to work with. And he was a bit of an author. And he was writing a book on it. story about demonology, but whenever he always said that whenever he Started writing he would hear things in his basement so we asked me to or me me the two friends to turn up and Approaching his house you have a church and a cemetery. I'm sorry a church and a Graveyard, you know graveyard on one side Yeah, because the graveyards are connected to a church, but a cemetery is natural. Yes, and then a cemetery, the opposite side of the road. But we didn't mention, we just kind of said some the long lines of, this is a perfect place to live kind of thing. And as we pulled up and he met us outside, he's talking to us, and he was saying, like, the house was built in two separate. the part on the left was built around 1785 and the more modern part was built about 1950. So then we go in and it shows us where the basement and just for chits and giggles I get one of the apps and turn it on on the phone. And bearing in mind we hadn't mentioned about the cemetery or the graveyard and the first few words it came up was graveyard cemetery 1875 1950 come and find me
Cameron Bagg: Wow.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: and we're like sort of like and we hadn't you know Yes, we do kind of think that some of these devices may have, like you said, they can listen to you, but it wasn't even switched on on your phone at the time. And the fact that we hadn't mentioned about the cemetery or the graveyard, it's all like, hang on a minute. This is a tad weird. And
Cameron Bagg: Mm-hmm.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: we had absolutely no explanation for that whatsoever.
Cameron Bagg: So you don't think like even the device might have a battery in it that still is absorbing recent conversations?
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Well, this was just a normal cell phone app that we were using.
Cameron Bagg: Okay.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yes, we had driven down in the, I think it was even two separate cars. So I basically was driving behind them. So it can't remember. It's either one or two cars, but we didn't even mention cemetery and graveyard. And it wasn't until... we got to his house that we knew that the two different parts of his house were built. But the fact that they got exactly the right service line, maybe it heard us and it came out with it. But what are the chances of that happening?
Cameron Bagg: Yeah. See I'm a Virgo and that drives me crazy not knowing. You know, I have to know.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: So let's go back on to, yeah, you started to investigate different locations. So apart from what happened in your apartment, can you really remember your very first official investigation?
Cameron Bagg: well yeah, one of the early ones might have been, you know, a a haunted restaurant. It was a home at Young and Young and Stouville Side Road, just in Richmond Hill, and it was a became a coffee shop and there was a previous owner, resident, Homer Leg, haunting the building, and he would he would wake up tenants in the apartments above. And they would they would feel them around the building in general. That was just an introduction at the beginning. but my real hands-on case was I guess maybe helping a family that had a lot of phenomena going on, they would hear a keyboard in their living room play at three o'clock in the morning that creepy three blind mice.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: yeah.
Cameron Bagg: Three blind mice. And a young man on the house, he saw a black silhouette walk in and was wearing what looked like a cowboy hat. He thought it was just his dad coming home until he looked at it and realized his dad doesn't wear a cowboy hat and then it disappeared. and so there there was a lot of interesting phenomena there was the sound of footsteps running if you were sitting downstairs you'd have footsteps running above you on the floor above this was a home where also as I was if I was walking into a room it was almost like somebody had a water bottle I've got one here and it was like they were making this noise crinkling
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Right.
Cameron Bagg: it and I follow that crinkle noise If I went into this room, then it would the noise would be in the other room. It had me running all over the place. And if I went up to investigate something upstairs, it would knock something over downstairs. there was a lot of different phenomena, but it became really interesting. It was it was so bad, I decided I was just going to try and help the family clear the activity. So I was going to do my first clearing even. And so talking about what do you call yourself some days, you know, as I was buying my my incense and my tools for the clearing, I thought to myself, well, what do I do? Walk around calling myself a shaman now? And these are just these are just thoughts in my head. But the woman, she called me the next day. I I had that thought, and she goes, I was visited by the being. And I'm like, Okay. And she described She said she woke up with sleep paralysis through the night. And standing just next to the bed, a few feet over, was this tall, hooded being in shadow, basically. And its cowl was touching the tip of the ceiling. And it was just staring at her. And she she goes, What do you want? Who are you? And she go and the the being communicated to her. it said, We are Seth like. Didn't call itself Seth, but it called itself Seth like. And so I had to do some research on that one. And Seth is like your original Egyptian god, the god of chaos and destruction. So that's how these things portray themselves. They they think of themselves as chaos and destruction. And it gave her a message, it said, Tell your shaman, he's not the only one allowed here. That was like that was cold, you know?
Lee - Paranormal Prism: you
Cameron Bagg: And to get that message and it was like it surround me too. It can pick up on this field of consciousness. So, anyways, it was the worst clearing I ever did, to be honest. And I learned greatly from it. And actually, when I did that clearing, I was doing it, it was more I was taking on the role of trying to banish the spirits, where I was trying to tough talk them away, like You're no longer wanted here, get away. And at the time I was doing the clearing with some smudge sage. I was in the basement around the furnace room at this point in time and telling it to go away and whatever. And the woman of the house was out on the phone talking to her grandmother, I believe. And the next day a friend of hers called her back and said, Is your daughter okay? And the woman says, She's fine. She Well, I just called when I called yesterday at such and such time, she seemed weird. And she goes, Well, no, she wasn't she wasn't home. We were doing the house clearing thing. She goes, Well, when I called, your daughter answered the phone, and she didn't sound like her. She sounded more tinny, robot-y, and formal. And it was like, No, mother's not available right now. You'll have to call her back tomorrow. And so here I am, I'm doing this. trying to do this clearing, but this spirit was so powerful, it was taking phone calls and playing with us. so thankfully I've gone on to learn more about clearings and hauntings. And I do a really good clearing now. I'm like 100% successful. And I seem to get other ghost hunting groups come to me because a lot of times they aren't successful, but I've got a good technique now that isn't banishment. It's all about Changing the vibration, you know,
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Bye.
Cameron Bagg: and clearing out whatever the vibration is now and bringing in a better, higher vibration. That so good spirits, family, relatives that are past can still come in, but the bad guys, they're not going to resonate with that good energy
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah,
Cameron Bagg: now.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: yeah and I'm assuming that you learned how to be a better shaman as well.
Cameron Bagg: Let's just let's just call me a mystigog.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Okay, yeah, the word of the evening.
Cameron Bagg: Yes.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: So how did Hauntline come about?
Cameron Bagg: that was kind of cool. I guess I'd been clocking away on the investigations and I was I started doing public seminars and sharing some photos with people and experiences and holding workshops and quite simply I I approached the local television station and I said, Would you like to do a show? This is what I do and they said, Yeah, gladly. So Hauntline with Cameron Bag became a one hour weekly show. It ran for three seasons, and it was mostly in the studio where I would intervene interview different guests. And this was before podcasting, really. so I met a lot of great people, did a lot of great shows. and it was phenomenal. And some of the shows we did, we did on location, so we would do it. At a haunted location as well. We did a cool investigation at the Lindsay Academy Theater where I brought in six psychics and I got all six reviews on what was going on in the building. and it turned into a big paranormal pizza party. and again, I believe in having fun, but not, you know, not being a goofy ghost hunter. But you know, you try to you you want to have good energy about you. And so after three years, the show was a hit. It was the biggest, it was the most popular show that they had had. And it was also was broadcast across Ontario, out of their normal city broadcast. So it was it was welcomed other places. And so I was approached to do a to do a different version of the show, but thirty minutes. And then they wanted me to come in and do sixteen episodes a weekend. Now it was hard enough to book one guest a week, as you might know. Imagine doing sixteen back to back on a Saturday and a Sunday. I said, No, you know what? I just can't do that. Because I think they wanted to roll them out on on demand so people can watch them all the time. And I just thought, no, I'm I'm not getting paid to do this. It was a volunteer effort. And so I just I just thought, you know, I'm gonna go move on to other things, which I did.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, that like, I, I kind of have enough guests to last me until middle of October. But I'm that that's my decision. I'm kind of proactive. And I make sure that I've got a bank of a couple of recorded shows. And then so if we get someone called Cameron bag that just falls onto my lap. then I can slot him in and then juggle some of the other episodes around. So yeah, I've got enough recorded and to be recorded to keep me going. But that's my choice. That's how I prefer to work. But having 16 over a weekend, that is ridiculous.
Cameron Bagg: Yeah. The the quality would just go like right down the drain.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah it would and it would be like a conveyor belt it's sort of like okay next and you you haven't got time to go to the bathroom
Cameron Bagg: And the other thing was I I took live call in. So it was live and I was taking calls from around the province and I loved it, you know? you know, you'd have you had your regulars that would call in with their ooky kooky spooky questions and you had people share their hauntings. It was a wonderful time. I really enjoyed it. And then if I got a nice paranormal photo, I could show it right on the television, which was great. So I enjoyed that. That was that was great. I did like, I don't know, 65 episodes, it turned out. And I've done other other television things. There was a really funny one. There was an old show called The John Door Show. And it's a comedy. It was on the Comedy Central. Anyways, I was the ghost consultant that answered his questions. And and that was hilarious. Like this guy. He did three takes of how he asked me this question and every single take he could fart right on cue. It was paranormal right there. So
Lee - Paranormal Prism: So obviously, as you said earlier, you had that research and that investigation book. We haven't mentioned about it yet, but you then decided to kind of write a book. And then that book has turned into another adventure, which we can now release. the book was Ghost Revelations. When did that come out?
Cameron Bagg: That's that's a newbie. It just came out in
Lee - Paranormal Prism: That's it.
Cameron Bagg: April 2026. So it's fairly new still. And it spans, you know, my 40 years of research. and I try to document the key cases, you know, the ones where I had those aha moments, and it starts to make sense, this incredible world of paranormal mystery. It's like, okay, I get this and this and this. And what's what I've been very fortunate with. is I've been photographing the paranormal as well. So I have compelling photographs of I have examples of a Dover demon, a Sabe or Bigfoot, the dog man, random ghosts and spirits and horse apparitions. so and I think one of the one of the most interesting phenomena that I photographed are actually these beings that are They're called nature spirits or dryads. And they're out in the daytime. You don't have to go out at night. They're out in nature and trees. so anyways, they're all in the book too. So it's a unique book where it's experiential, it's the key cases that make sense, but it's also chock full of photographic evidence, which you know, a lot of books out there on the paranormal, it's just there's nothing, there's no evidence really. Just it's witness statements. and I also teach people how to photograph spirits for themselves. I've taken it to the next level now. because I do these public events, these live seminars where I'll share my my evidence and my experiences. I always close them with a spirit photography session. And what that means is I set up a black tarp behind them on the wall. They stand in front of it. And I take a photograph with a forced flash. And then what I do is I'll blow up their photograph on the computer, and I will find the spirits that are around them. We all have them. Everybody has a unique set of spirits. And they tend to they tend to show up on your temples, the crown of your head. We get resting spirits here, which are more, they could be more past life beings or images. And we get them around the ears, but around the temples, you get groupings of three. So they seem to be like, you know, some sort of spirit family of sorts. We also can get them in the eyes and in the mouth. I I was amazed when I was picking up spirits in the mouth on people, but that's also from learning through Chinese medicine. I learned that in acupuncture, it's also it's a it's a passageway for energy, is through the mouth and in and in acupuncture. So Makes sense that you would pick up some spirits in the mouth area. so taking that technique, and I call this now everybody is a human antenna. And so you'll get spirits around yourselves just using that simple technique. They're very small images, but it's beyond patterning. It's not just patterning. You blow it up really large, and you can find dogs, cats. You know, so if a person grew up on a farm, you're gonna see cows and chickens, maybe. But really cool thing I learned, and this takes research to a whole next level for paranormal investigators. You know, I'm photographing, say, fifty people on average at a at a ghost talk, and I'm now I've got it down to I might only take two or three photos of a person, and I just wanna make sure I've got good images of them. But what I learned from those fifty people is I would get the same spirit sometimes photobombing the images. So I would get the old farmer with his corncob pipe and his straw hat showing up in everybody's photos because he was haunting the location we were in. So that took me to the next level where, okay, if I'd set this up, say, in the Edinburgh vaults. And I do that, I'm gonna get the spirits photo bombing from the Edinburgh vaults. Or if I go to Vlad the Impaler's Castle, I'm gonna get hopefully Vlad the Impaler or historical figures showing up that I can identify later. so that's fascinating. And and so I use that technique now with every investigation I do. I'll just take my my black curtain I got from Giant Tiger, I guess. And I'll throw it over a door and I have the the homeowner stand next to it and I'll I'll take the pictures. And so I will get any spirit attachments around them. If they have a shadow attachment, they'll show up. And so that tells me what's going on rather quickly. And then I go around the home and I'll do my my regular baseline photos, and I'll pick up whatever spirits are in home. And then after I do a clearing. I will do another set of baseline photos. And if I pick up spirits after I've done the clearing that are the nasty spirits that you don't want there, then I know the clearing hasn't worked and I'll do it again. so it's r the camera has become my my weapon of choice. And the spirit photography, the human antenna, I think that's one everybody should experiment with more. How how do you feel about paranormal orbs?
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Well, I'm quite a rational person and logical person. So I know that some of them can be caused by dust. Some of them can be caused by insects. they do, if an insect is kind of darting off at right angles and things, so you know it's kind of airborne. But yeah, it's interesting that you mentioned that because we went to a place in New York State last summer. And one of the guys was doing an experiment and me and the other guy were watching on the the NBR. And then we had this kind of orb come down from the ceiling. And if I wanted to explain the shape, I would have said like a butterfly to start off with, but then it kind of separated and came down. So being logical, I'm thinking, well, it could have been a fleck of paint from the ceiling, but you'd see it on the floor. And there was nothing that we could put our finger on that would debunk it. So a lot of the... of the orbs, like I say, you're going to get lens flare as well and stuff like that that naive people think are not being mean, but if you haven't got the experience, they think that it's a past one, but in reality, is a bug or dust. I'm not completely debunking them. but there are certain ones that you cannot explain.
Cameron Bagg: Yeah. Well, yeah. I I wanted to believe in them, I think originally when you know, but I have to tell you, like when I have my film cameras and I was using those originally, it was very apparent. It's just a reflection, a flash
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah.
Cameron Bagg: of an insect or something. But digital cameras, they digital cameras do the trick. And I take orbs seriously if they have facial features, noses, eyes, I love it when they have glasses. And a lot of them have hats, top hats for some reason, and cowboy hats, whatever. that I find orb research is fascinating. And it's almost a study. It should be a study on its own. And I liken a paranormal orb as to being a wind zip paranormal file of the consciousness. And the consciousness, you know, or the soul even as being the seed and the center of the spear. And the images that you get projected outwards are how they how they have been seen or wanna be seen. And so you might get the that spirit, you know, one side it might be revealing itself as it was as a child, you might get a baby's face, you could get it as an old old man. So I I love orbs and but you know, I do brush aside all the ones that are clearly reflections. And you know, but but a good orb, it it's like it's fluorescing energy outwards. It's not a reflection so much.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, that's it. And you've done a lot of investigations. And if you go into a location that is dusty when you're taking your pictures or you're doing your video, you're going to see dust particles. But they're pretty much identical all the time. You've seen one, you've kind of seen them all kind of thing. Once you see a bug, you then know what a bug looks like under a lens and in front of a camera. So you can kind of all that, but then you get some that, yeah, that's not a bug. It's not a piece of, yeah, it's not dust, particle dust. you just can't explain what it is. So yeah, I'm open for the right evidence, but you do get a lot of people that anything that they see is going to be a paranormal, where in reality it's not.
Cameron Bagg: No. Yeah, you've got to really pay attention. Yeah, definitely.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: So, exactly, exactly. So when you wrote Ghost Revelations, did you decide that you were gonna do these seminars as well, or was that kind of like an afterthought?
Cameron Bagg: Well, I'd been doing Ghost Revelations as a seminar for a few years now. And and then I've always been trying to get the book done. it's been a work in progress. It started off as a book on shadow beings, shadow people, shadow beings. I started a book on how to do really good clearings, and I started off on a book on orbs and portals. And then it was just like I just went through and I just one chapter at a time. And so it's almost like you've got three books in one. And it's a little bit autobiographical, but I'd like to think it's not boring. It's like you're seeing real events and how I even struggle to accept them, you know? Like it's not just like I'm going, and I saw a ghost here and I saw a ghost there. It's like, no, I What is this and how I found out what it is? so yeah, it took it took about 40 years to get this thing done, but I I spent then when I rolled up my sleeves and I took a solid year just to write it, it was a wonderful process, and I'm on to the second book now. I'm working on ghost evolutions. And I feel my book on ghost revelations, explains that you know ghosts are real and where they fit into the paranormal spectrum of consciousness because ghosts are just a a fragment of the energies that are out there. And so I'd like to think like done, you know, ghosts are real, that ghost evolutions, I'm going to explain what ghosts are. so that's what it's going to be through historical interpretations and present day investigations and evidence and I think it's very easy now for for educated or open minded people to understand, you know, human consciousness. And I think people are leaning more into the realm of, yeah, the world is conscious. Everything has consciousness. So it that's all ghosts are spirits really.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Can I just remind you what you said before we came on air that you are actually retired so you are supposed to be taking it easy?
Cameron Bagg: Yeah, that's not gonna happen. No.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: You
Cameron Bagg: I'm looking at this as a gift and and you know, I'm at a point in my life where I realize I've got fewer days now than I than I used to have. that I want to make the most of every day. And that's thus that's why I'm doing the seminars. I wanna turn people on to the paranormal and you know It's not so mysterious, you know, like it's it's there and it's something, it's a part of our our experiences, and people can choose to ignore it, that's fine. but if people want to explore, especially the evidence that I present, I think I'm gonna make a lot of believers, by case by case, by all the photographs, and even at the live events, I love doing the live events because It's one thing to write in a book how to do spirit photography, but when people can participate in it, and I can show them how easy it is to photograph spirits around you. And you can run into any building with your little black cloak and stand there, and you'll get spirits popping in for a photo. I'm really hoping I can turn people on to it and to get a lot of the maybe newer paranormal investigators to work. more with their cameras and they'll be they'll be thrilled with the evidence that they're getting now, you know.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, because I do like when we go to public events and somebody will come up to you and go, I'm not a believer. However, there was this one time and then they explained to you like a paranormal experience. But one thing that I do with my evidence, I will not say. this is a ghost, this is a spirit or whatever. I will just say, I do not know what this is.
Cameron Bagg: But
Lee - Paranormal Prism: However, I know what it isn't. And at least that way, you just have that unexplained pile of evidence. But unfortunately, that pile just gets bigger and bigger with unexplained evidence. So, god.
Cameron Bagg: Yeah, I've got a few of those too. Like I get some weird spirit photos in cemeteries where where it's almost like where I'll get a spirit holding an animal up, you know, like it's like, look at my dog and I'm like, We're in a cemetery. What are you showing me your dog for? Sort of thing. Like you get some weird ones that I don't know why they're there, if they're a spirit or a ghost. Even the the colors of the orbs, I don't think you can lock it down and say one color means anything more than another color. I think they're very they're still very fluid. You know, I know if you get a black orb, that's not a good sign. Like I mean by just the solid black color. it usually that represents some some darker forces involved. I did have one really good photograph of one, but another paranormal person took it on me. And and red is a little more indicative of some negative stuff going on. But most of them are going to be blue. I find brown ones are more you're photographing more a time slip of sorts. Like you're almost like you're looking through history, I think. Sometimes these orbs seem like they're just an a They're an opening into the past. And I sometimes feel the face looking back at me is like, who the heck is this guy taking my picture? but
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, that's really cool. So if you want to tell everybody where they can meet up with you at these seminars that are coming up.
Cameron Bagg: yeah, well, tis the season. I'm gonna be in Merrickville on October the first, and I'll be doing my ghost seminar. And then on October 3rd, I'm in Ottawa at the Heron Road Community Theater. That's October 3rd, and that's a daytime session, 11 o'clock till 1 p.m. And then I have some other dates coming up. I'll be in Cornwall. Grimsby, Sarnia, I'm gonna be all over the place. And I'm also doing the Paracon up in Thunder Bay. Are you going?
Lee - Paranormal Prism: I'm not. I've got a couple more conventions that I've got to deal with with my normal gig. But
Cameron Bagg: Okay.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: one of these times I'm hoping to get up to Thunder Bay because I do hear that I know two different people that went up there last year and they thoroughly enjoyed it.
Cameron Bagg: It looks like a good group. This is my first time and I've always wanted to go to Thunder Bay. I've never been, so I'm I'm ticking off two little check mark marks there, you know.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, yeah, because a friend of mine that I because I actually teach a paranormal equipment course for a company that are out in Halifax called
Cameron Bagg: Okay.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: PPPRI and they do weekly lessons on like ghost and hauntings and poltergeist and demons and cryptids. So I'm actually doing one on the paranormal equipment. I'm
Cameron Bagg: Nice.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: really honest, I do come out with a good and I do come out with a bad, like don't buy one of these because these suck kind of things. But yeah, I've heard some good reports from. about the Thunder Bay Power Con. So apart from the fact that you've recently released Ghost Revelations and these seminars and now you just mentioned about the second book, have you actually got time for anything else Cameron?
Cameron Bagg: Wow, well I I'm actually doing book expos also. So on weekends I I drive like two hours to a book fair. This weekend I'm going to Milton and so that keeps me busy. but what else? there's always investigations and I'm always tweaking and experimenting with my photography. So with this with this session in Merrickville. I'm going to be introducing a new concept to my spirit photography. Not only will I be photographing the person from the from the front, but I'm going to have them turn around because apparently there's a a spirit passageway where spirits like to come and go at the back of your head, at the base of your neck. So I'm going to take a photograph there to see if if there's even more spirit presence. So I look forward to that. So I'm looking forward to that part of research. otherwise what am I working on? I I skulk around the graveyards quite a bit. you know, no sooner does the security guard lock up the gate, I see him drive around the corner and then I'm going around the fence and
Lee - Paranormal Prism: You
Cameron Bagg: getting out the cameras. But I I'm looking at just having fun. I can sort of pick and choose what I do now and but I'm always trying to move ahead and I think I've got at least the next book in me. and we'll see where it goes from there. But I'm happy with what I've done so far.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: awesome. It's interesting just before we unfortunately have to leave that you mentioned about the the spirit pathway at the bottom of the neck because that's where your hypothalamus is. So when people kind of get really hot on a hot day rather than do the old-fashioned put something on the forehead or put some on the wrists if you put like a cool cloth on the back of the neck That's where your hypothalamus is, that's where your heat temperature is. So that's why you put it on the back of the neck. So it cools that down, which in turn cools the body down over the forehead and the wrist. So I wonder if there's any connection between that pathway and the hypothalamus, which is interesting.
Cameron Bagg: Well, if you come out to Merrickville, we're gonna find out.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: I will definitely be there and because I've got to bring this with me
Cameron Bagg: Okay.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: but you can't tell me what it is because you said you wasn't going to mention Dr. ever tonight. Cameron it's been an absolute pleasure talking to you my friend like I said
Cameron Bagg: Likewise.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: we are we are going to be meeting up in a couple of weeks in Merrickville. Bring the Tardist.
Cameron Bagg: Yeah, here it's a beautiful little town.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: I think we've drove through it, but I don't think I've actually stopped there for anything in particular. But yeah, like I say, I was planning to come and see you in Ottawa, but I've got other podcasts to do because as I said earlier, I've got quite a few. But I
Cameron Bagg: Yeah.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: hope it's an absolute outstanding success. Ghost Revelations Seminars. no doubt you're going to have absolute blast while you're doing them. But for now my friend, thank you very much for your time. It's been an absolute pleasure and I look forward to meeting you in person in a couple of weeks.
Cameron Bagg: my pleasure. I look forward to meeting you.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: take care, bye bye.
Cameron Bagg: All the best.
