Cybersecurity often makes the headlines for all the wrong reasons: data breaches, ransomware, phishing and online scams.
But good cybersecurity is about much more than protecting systems.
In this episode, Julie Bishop is joined by Andy Cuff, founder of Computer Network Defence (CND), a specialist cybersecurity company and fellow B Corp, to talk about protecting people, building trust and doing the right thing.
Andy shares how ethics have shaped CND over more than 20 years, from turning down work that doesn't align with the company's values to creating a culture where employees feel able to admit mistakes without fear of blame.
They also explore why cybersecurity can't simply be left to the IT department, why businesses of every size need to take the threat seriously and what happened when Andy's team used social engineering to test the security culture of a large financial organisation.
And if cybersecurity feels overwhelming, Andy shares three straightforward places to start: multi-factor authentication, patching and employee training.
A conversation about cybersecurity – but also about leadership, culture, trust and why doing the right thing is good for people and good for business.
