Speaker 1: For ESPN Basketball.
00:00:02
Speaker 2: The great John Casey on the line, got a case ooday.
00:00:05
Speaker 3: Timmy, Hi rowe great to be with you. I tell you the five out he is outstanding already.
00:00:10
Speaker 1: I would imagine it is now. I've made a bold prediction.
00:00:13
Speaker 2: I said, Game four thirty six is by seven points. How's me numerology going?
00:00:19
Speaker 3: Well, I'm with.
00:00:20
Speaker 2: You, Timmy.
00:00:21
Speaker 3: I really do think I'm confident about Adelaie winning tonight because it's just so hard to close out a series on the road, and the recent history underscores that the last three Grand Final series in the NBL, Game four has been won by the team who was trailing. And last year not only did Melbourne lose Game four when they're up to one, but they lost Game five as well. So there's a lot of things pointing toward a thirty Sixers win here.
00:00:47
Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of spice in that.
00:00:50
Speaker 2: It's just been going on for quite a while now, but got quite heated in the Game three.
00:00:56
Speaker 1: Of course, Adelaide playing.
00:01:00
Speaker 2: Sorry Game two at home when they were able to pull off that miracle victory, and there was all sorts of stuff going on the court, and then afterwards as well with the Bogan and Grant Kelly stuff.
00:01:09
Speaker 1: It's just I don't know, some of it's a bit unsavory. John.
00:01:13
Speaker 3: Yeah, look, I don't think we need that sort of stuff. And I'm glad that the thirty six ers came out this week instead their piece and said now we're not going to mention this again until the series is over. And I think that sort of unsavory stuff off the court, well, let's leave that now and let the basketball shine through, because let's not forget that the basketball has been outstanding. And certainly Kendrick Davis his response after he would have been a little bit embarrassed the way he reacted in Game two getting in Bryce Cotton's face after Adelaide had one Willie Andy's critics by one of the best championship performances you'll ever see. Thirty four points, a record breaking fifteen assists, and not one turnover in Sydney. So he's been outstanding and right now he's the best player in this Grand Final series, and maybe he's going to steer them to victory tonight, but I'd like to think we're going back to Sydney on Easter Sunday for Game five.
00:02:03
Speaker 2: They do say stop Bryce Cotton you stop Adelaide, surely we're going to be able to come up with a plan by at times.
00:02:10
Speaker 3: Yeah, and we did that in Sydney to you remember we were in front at halftime. Don Jenkins, who stepped up in Game three, had twenty two points. He hit six threes and silent Cheatham also had his best game against Sydney this season. He had seventeen points in a game high ten rebounds, and that's the first time he's been in double digits against Sydney this season. So if those two can buy in, because the edge that we have that Sydney has is in depth. They've probably got eight guys who play significant minutes. Adelaide has seven. So for Adelaide to be able to win, their seven have to match eight, and that means the likes of Jenkins and Cheat them are going to have to play as well as they can to help Rice Cotton get Adelaide across the line.
00:02:53
Speaker 2: I've always thought dj Basilovich is sort of almost the sleeping John in all of this. When he starts, and he did against Southeast Melbourne and got off to an absolute cracker.
00:03:06
Speaker 1: I think he can be a foil for Bryce.
00:03:10
Speaker 3: Oh, no doubt.
00:03:11
Speaker 2: At all.
00:03:11
Speaker 3: Look, he's won three championships with Sydney and he knows this team inside and out. He's got five teammates who was with him in Sydney when he won those titles. And as you say, look, he turned it on in that semi final series twenty seven points, six of ten threes in that game, deciding Game three of the semifinal series. And he is a shot maker and he is oblivious to the pressure. I've spoken with him the Channel seven and he is as cool as a cucumber. He knows what needs to be done. He's been there, done that, and he says he's ready to go. And his last words for me were, there's no way this ends to night.
00:03:46
Speaker 2: Oh.
00:03:46
Speaker 1: I like that offensive rebounds.
00:03:48
Speaker 2: We had a text earlier in the day saying we get that right then that's probably going to win this a game.
00:03:54
Speaker 3: I think it will. It goes a long way toward it. They gain it had to keep Suarez and Xavier Cooks off the boards and not give him those second and third opportunities because that can really hurt it. And I think Adelaide are well aware of that. And the rebound count's going to be significant, but the really crucial point is going to be able to get to the free throw line and the interesting stats through this and not isolating Sydney or Adelaide, but isolating the home team and the road team. Well, the numbers are start and the home team gets to the free throw line almost twice as much as the road team, So that happens again tonight, then I think that is going to help Babloid get across the line.
00:04:32
Speaker 2: Mike Wells during the week just pointing out to the refs that perhaps the fact that they only had four fowls in the second half and perhaps none against the people who were guarding Bryce Cotton, how do you think that'll go down.
00:04:48
Speaker 3: I've just spoken to Matthew Deliver'd over for for ESPN regarding that, and he's not phased at all. I think he's been the most calm person in all of this, and he's been the center of attention. I said to you going to garb Rice and he differently? He said no. I said, you think the referees are going to call it any differently? And he said, well, if they do, then we'll just have to make an adjustment. But he is one of the finest players that Australia has ever produced, helped us to that bronze medal in Tokyo, and this is his third straight NBL Championships series and he's lost the previous two, so he's hungry for a win to add to his NBA title, but with what he's been doing, and Mike Wells was very good about him because you know, like all coaches do, they trying to get the referees here and do it in a subtle way so they know what the numbers were and how they have to referee this game. And so I didn't mind what Mike had to say. It's a little bit of gamesmanship there, but certainly it'll be interesting to see how this game is referee. I think this is going to be the loudest crowd ever here, a forty first consecutive sell out for the thirty sixes, and I think the fans and the fact that the home team's been getting the rub of the green is going to be enough to steer this adelade's way. And as I say, Game five in Sydney on Easter Sunday, well that is going to be a blockbuster.
00:05:58
Speaker 2: Absolutely sensational stuff. I'll see you soon at the foot look.
00:06:03
Speaker 3: Forward to it, versus Good Friday. If you're not there, maybe the week after, but that they really look forward to it, and to tonight.
00:06:10
Speaker 2: Good Man John Casey, ESPN basketball commentator, and he's one of our pals. And if you're after that special drop, trust your powers to have a.

Speaker 2: It's the home of all the hardest to find wines, beers and spirits.
