Nick: What is up? How are you? Thank you very much for having me back. It's an honor to be the first repeat. That's great.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: For sure. yeah. Yeah. Anytime you are welcome, anytime. yeah. So we've if you've been paying attention to the show, we've Nick was one of our early guests and he's he's a podcast host and he's very prolific. I feel like you like have a show every day or two kind of dropping. One of the busiest guys in the game. So yeah, maybe before we kind of get into it, if you want to just
Nick: yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Let people know where they can find you and stuff and then we'll we'll kick it off.
Nick: yeah, the occult rejects. that's on YouTube, Rumble, Bit Shoe, really not too much anymore. You could go on there and catch like old stuff, but with that two gig video, it's like pointless for me to even try to put anything up on there. all major podcast hosts. I do have Occult Occult Research Institute dot org, where there was a bunch of stuff on there that people have contributed to that you could check out for free. And then I even did start Nick from the Occult Rejects Substack. that does have a bunch of stuff for free, but there will there is stuff on there that you can pay if you want to see other stuff. So we have all those.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Right on, right on. How do you find Substack? We haven't we we made one and it's in our links, but we haven't posted anything on it. So
Nick: I mean I'm getting a lot of subs, but just none of them.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah.
Nick: Yeah, I mean and there will be extra stuff that I'm putting out there that you know, isn't I haven't done. So I mean odds are I'll be keeping real though, a lot of the stuff that goes on there in a few months after the fact will probably be turned into an episode, but you'll get to read it way before it was ever done.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah. Do you find it's a good way to kinda get your ideas down doing the sub stack?
Nick: You know what? The reason I even did the Substack is because like I do two solo shows a week. So I write a lot of shit anyway. So it's like a lot of the stuff that's free. I'm like literally taking the script that I used from the episode and putting it out early. And then some of the things are just like stuff that I've like either do or I've done in the past. I was like, that really isn't a full episode. So I'll just I'm like saving stuff like that. Or it's like small little ideas that I don't think will be a full show.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm.
Nick: I've been doing on there. But like the only reason I'm really utilizing it is because again, I write so much for my own show myself. I'm also just throwing this shit onto Substack and see what happens.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, might as well, For sure.
Nick: Yeah, yeah. And I've come across I have come across I guess other content creators have found me due to that. So I mean that helps I guess.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah, it's it's it's nice sometimes, you know, I like I think the long form stuff is kinda coming back. Like the it you know, everyone's into the reels and whatever, but the that long yet f for those with the attention span, I guess Substack's kind of a good place to to put that shit. Yeah.
Nick: I agree. Yeah. Yeah. There's a lot of good people that I know in the occult community that I think are rather reputable and I've noticed they all have sub stacks and some of their shit's pretty impressive.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Cool. So yeah, what's what's new in in your world and the occult world? What's going on?
Nick: whole whole bunch. still doing, you know, got got a bunch of people on the show still. kind of I think figured out exactly like I can't remember the last time when I came on here. If I had conspiracy people on the show or not, but yeah, pretty much got rid of them and have like a full occult. Everybody's into the occult now. So it's been it's been going pretty good. the show's I've been really liking the direction it's been going in. I myself, like I was telling you earlier, and it was like something I kind of wanted to talk on about a little bit possibly, was you know, for myself, I've been I mentioned I do two solo shows a week, normally one's on a topic. And now I've been doing a series called the mechanics of magic. And you know, for me, when I look at magic, I I'm not well first off, I'm not too woo-woo about it. I'll just keep it that way. but I do think that even from looking at People from the Renaissance especially. There was a lot of science and alchemy and the occult and mysticism and that stuff back then. And it doesn't seem to really exist too much anymore now. And I've been trying to like maybe go back to like certain things that are common that we use in magic, certain tools, or just things that would even be on the altar, or certain ways of even trying to apply magic. the science behind it. Because
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm-hmm.
Nick: Well, you know, once I started I had the idea of this, I started looking into a few different things at once and I started noticing a commonality, which is which is where I was kind of thinking it there might be. And after looking at a lot of these things, which I'll get into eventually, the all these things tend to actually affect the practitioner pretty heavily. Like their nervous system. Or even just, you know, stuff with their brain and their memory. So like I my opinion. I just think when it does come to magic and like real magic, not trying to I put spells on your neighbor because they pissed you off. You know, I do think a lot of these techniques were actually meant for you to do stuff to yourself, to put yourself into a certain I wouldn't say state, vibrational rate. my opinion, I think, almost kind of become in control of your own nervous system to an extent.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm-hmm. Okay.
Nick: Because all of the stuff, like, you know, when I get into it, seems to do that. You know, or there's a lot of things in magic. you know, I can get into one, like when people use candles a lot. if you're gonna use a candle, odds are it's probably because the room is dark already. so like when you have a dark room and you have a candle flicking, there's been studies done on this stuff too. one. Your brain, when it your brain is pretty much always in some sort of survival mode to an extent. Whenever it starts looking at things, it's already decoding it as like is everything safe? So it kind of needs to know or wants to know everything. When you dim lights at a candle, and now if you got smoke, two from incense, things that you could be looking at, like I'll even I'm now I'm starting to include a whole bunch of different things, but to try to get the point that I'm getting at. a scrying mirror. Let's say you have a scrying mirror or a bowl of liquid and you're doing it that way. With smoke and a flickering light, your vision and the darkness, your vision is gonna be fucked up. Your brain will actually make shit up to fill in the gaps that it doesn't see. So a lot of times, even when people are like scrying in the mirror and they're like, I think I saw my face change.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm.
Nick: No, it's it's just your brain trying to fill in the details. It can't see. But it is actually a known fact. But now we're getting to the the candle stuff. one thing that's really interesting about the candle is that if you get certain flicker rates where it starts flickering a certain way, and it doesn't matter where you are. I you could be in over by you guys in Canada, you could be Mexico, Africa, you could be male, female, it doesn't matter, brown, white, black, yellow, wherever the fuck you are.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Right, right.
Nick: Everybody at some point, if they hallucinate something, they're all gonna hallucinate the same thing. So they have to start wondering where the fuck is that coming from? It's gotta be inside us. But a candle or a light that starts flickering, flickering close to ten hertz, make everybody who does see something see spirals, checkerboard floors, starbursts, and certain sacred ge geometry.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm. Wow.
Nick: So like that and and and there's been things done now and studies done now where they have gone into like caves that have cave art that have had some of those like the spirals or the starbursts inside the art. And they've noticed that if you bring like a kind of like a thing in there, like a torch or something, if it starts flickering the right right way, you'll even start noticing it animating a
The Eh-Soteric Archives: File.
Nick: So they're starting to wonder like, are those starbursts and those spirals of certain things in that image? Because they even saw it when they had their eyes closed and the flame was flipping.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, yeah.
Nick: So like, you know, i i it does you know a a candle in a dark room and if you're meditating with your eyes closed or something, depending on the flicker rate, it could actually make you stop maybe possibly singing.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Do do you think that that's because those things are like actually just in our is it is it just changing your perception? Because like so like it's got me thinking about LED lights and the difference between like an incandescent bulb and and an LED bulb, right? An LED f the flicker rate is super, super fast. That's basically what's happening. You know, and and like so LEDs in like television, LEDs in office buildings, things like that that keep people in a certain state.
Nick: It's the time. Yeah.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: It's just yeah it's I'm I'm just like kinda drawing the connection between that, like
Nick: It probably is something into that. I never actually thought about that's really that's interesting 'cause yeah, that does work the same way. I never thought of actually looking at light bulbs because of the flame.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Well and then even on the other side of it, like the the whole like nervous system thing, right? Like amber light calms the nervous system. That's why people like you know, like ancient cultures like staring into the flame, right? Like that's a way to Yeah.
Nick: Yeah. They used to use the the thing of Asclepius. I think they used to put people on a table and have like green painted glass and have green light shine on them. Thinking it would help heal them. Blue light, I covered it I think in the Aura series. There's been some cases and they've implemented that at a couple of places, and you know, some people say it definitely works, some people say it doesn't, or maybe it's just, you know, certain things that
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah.
Nick: Forgetting the word that they're using, but like you know, certain things aren't adding up to make the the science possibly perfect. But there has been some proof, people argued over this in some train stations, I think in Japan. I don't think it was China, but definitely Japan. certain ones people were known for tossing themselves off, killing themselves. They changed the tracks with blue lights, and the suicides have gone down. They said it doesn't stop you from being suicidal.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Huh.
Nick: Something about blue light can kind of like catch your attention and make you start thinking. I forgot exactly what it was. It's more of like a buffer in between the thought to make you like, you know what? Maybe make you think about something else and you'd be like, maybe I shouldn't kill myself. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's not to actually stop you from being suicidal. It's almost like to kind of get you out of that frame of thought and kind of into something else and hope you don't go back.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Crazy. Right. Yeah, there's there's definitely something with the different color light. Do you remember, I think it was like 2019, 2020 when the explanation was that Phillips at the fact like the Phillips light bulb factory, something was fucked up with their LED street lamps. And instead of having the like blue-white glow that they have, they all had this like purple glow. so all these street lights in like major cities got got switched to these new bulbs and they were like emitting a purple light. It happened in Vancouver. They were all over Vancouver when I lived there. And underneath these purple lights, like it was like crime rates were up. like all kind of like erratic behavior and stuff was happening in these areas of well yeah that was my initial, you know, conspiratorial thought with it, but it's just, you know,
Nick: See, I'd wonder if that was done on purpose to see what's up.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: It's kinda interesting. You change change the light, change the behavior. And even though with with the purple lights, like just the way they've changed the lights in cities now. You you know, you see a picture of a city from thirty or forty years ago, there's like warm glow. Whereas now it's a ske it's just a it it's a higher, like a whiter light, you know what I mean? No no more amber warm glow. Mm-hmm. And look at how cities have been changed. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, there's there's definitely something to it. in the episode I I listened to
Nick: Definitely, definitely will do some weird stuff to you for sure. Or can like even even with sigils and talismans.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: When Yeah. When you were talking with the candle, you said just at a specific flicker rate. So at like ten hertz.
Nick: the ten when he's getting around ten hertz on the flicker rate of the candle, that's like kind of flickering like close to ten ten times per second. That's when like people really started showing like they were seeing shit with their eyes closed. Like they'd have the eyes closed and the candle would be in front of and you'll start seeing like shit with your eyes closed.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah. And this everyone in the same room saw the same thing kind of thing.
Nick: All the studies, if people saw anything, it like they everybody saw the same common few things. It's very weird. It's all spirals, starbursts, sacred g same sacred geometry type things, a checkered and like almost a checkered board look. Like I don't know if it's neither a checkered pattern, checkered floor, but it was almost like a black and white checkered look too as well. So I mean it's just very weird and interesting shit.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. The the episode I listened to of yours, you were talking about like smoke and like how it like softens the edges of everything too and that changes sort of the perception of
Nick: Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what I was like, yeah. If you have like s that's what I'm even getting out with the scrawling here. If you have smoke and then the mirror is never even gonna be I mean, a polished stone, I mean, first of all, it's not gonna be good as a regular mirror. So it's gonna be kind of iffy. It's not gonna be extremely detailed. Your brain's gonna try to make up for all that. You know, we add in the smoke, now it's even less. You know, it's like things like, you know, when we were I don't I mean, I'm sure I did it, but I don't think I ever got freaked out by it. Well I think if some kids would get freaked out by doing that Mary, whatever I forgot what it was. Bloody Mary. You sit there staring at yourself long enough in the dark mirror and y you know, your brain might start making you look a little funny because you're trying to fill in the details and then the kids get freaked out.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Bloody Mary. Yeah. Don't say it one more time. Yeah.
Nick: I mean, even psycho psychomantium, I think that's I'm saying it correctly. A lot of people will try to it's like an older thing where people will try to contact the dead. And they do it through a mirror. It's like scrawing and you got smoke and it's dark and you got candles. All that shit's fucking up your perception. What your brain can't figure out, it's gonna fill in those details. And then when you go in, and this is another mind fucking itself, something that it's it's like kind of like
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm-hmm.
Nick: You get told a lot you should know your intention, which I do get. I mean, I think that does help to an extent, but then also, you know, to know your intention when you're doing a spell. But then at the same time, like looking into the stuff that I'm looking into, intention would be almost the same thing as expectation. Expectation is a motherfucker. Once you put it inside your head, what you're even doing this ritual for and what you're expecting to get out of it, your brain basically, after that, anything you want to attribute to what you just did. The only answer it's gonna look for is inside that equation now. Cause basically, well, that's the answer. That's the box you're given my answer in. So I'm gonna find it in here somewhere. And you could be completely wrong.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah, it's yeah, you're like
Nick: Like I think I'm gonna go contact my dad. You know, and I got all this shit going on. My brain can't comp you know, basically get my whole face in there. I'm thinking about my dad. So that's stuck in my head. So it makes me start looking weird. Do I think I'm seeing part of my dad now? Because I've already put in my head that's who I want to see, and that's who I'm expecting. That believe it or not, that shit mindfucks us.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Well and like that that's that would make me think too, like when you hear of people 'cause you I've I've heard stories where entities pretend to be other people, people that you you think you know and stuff, right? Like Yeah. Yeah, a hundred percent. Huh.
Nick: Yeah, there's a lot when it comes to expectation and even your nervous system gets manipulated so easily. Your eyeballs, the because they are they're attached to one, if not two, I could be completely wrong, of your 12 cranial nerves. Even s depending on how you're programmed or how your belief system is on certain things you see, your eyes then will determine if that's good or bad, and it will actually send stuff down your Your you in your crane, you know, when you're in the nerve, the optic chiasm. I think it's the second cranal nerve. It goes through that, and you basically like your pupils can actually change depending on the emotion you're having with the fucking reality that you're basically have constructed that you're living in. Like you could see something, and then your brain will automatically automatically be like, Yeah, that's gonna be upsetting. And then it changes your whole fucking shit inside you.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm. Hm. So it's it's like
Nick: Like it's actually like a feedback loop. It's really weird. But that, you know, it's I don't know if you you guys don't practice, but and maybe you don't maybe you know this or you don't. But when the you make talismans going by like old school ideas, especially the way the Golden Dawn and the OTO, the OTO basically follows a lot of Golden Dawn shit anyway. So they kind of suggest the same thing when you use these things called flashing colors. I've mentioned it before on another show. And I I handed something in for Mario and Symbolic Studies on this idea. He was playing like ten, fifteen minute clips of people talking about certain shit. And a lot of people got confused thinking I meant flashing colors, like actually flashing. There's a thing called flashing colors. When you are using talismans, if let's say I want to use Jupiter or it's chess ed for Kabbalah, if I want to use you know, Jupiter, the flashing color, it's gonna be blue. And then the flashing color, it's now that's gonna be orange. It's all the and for some reason they say that those just have a relationship and it helps the colors pop. Now, if I was to do Mars, the flashing color would be green with Venus. Now, if I was to do Venus, its color would be green, and then its flashing color would be red. Just like if I was to do Mercury, which was orange, its flashing color would be blue. You have all these different things that hook up. They've done studies on those. And that will actually pull on your fucking cones and rods in your eyes differently. Because it's actually competing now. Some of them will actually make it start to look like they're floating if you meditate on a longer. We'll start to make it look like it's almost moving or 3D. Like, did they fucking know that shit back then?
The Eh-Soteric Archives: It's well it's weird how that stuff plays into even like something as like kind of benign as like marketing now, right? Like like company logos and stuff use specific colors because they invoke invoke certain emotions in people.
Nick: Go if If if you were to look up what colors make you hungry and think of like community eating, you'll get exactly the colors McDonald's use.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: I I was gonna mention food, I come from the food I've been to the food industry for a long time or was and yeah. To make things pop, to make people think it tastes different. Like people eating the same thing, but because of the color, they you know what I mean, they actually taste different things. Yep. Yeah, it's i it can mess with.
Nick: yeah. Yeah, even like the color brown. Like if you look into like what that kind of does, it's perfect for coffee shops and coffee shops constantly besides the bean, but a lot of them, you know, always kind of give like a brown look to And like that, even supposed to be like a calming communal type feeling. It's just like all right, I a lot I think a lot of places, if they don't know, they've just maybe realized that that's the color that goes with that. But yeah, colors. I did a two part series on that. It's it's a mindfucking itself with colors. Just like I was saying with these talismans. Even even when it comes to sigils, certain shapes actually will make a person like kind of almost feel differently. Curves will actually make people feel like more they I could see for men, it's more of like a sign of beauty for some reason. Curves are like a thing of beauty. certain cut angles can like kind of upset you or make you feel like off. But there's like even certain things with sigils. You could design certain sigils.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah.
Nick: So I guess if you looked at it yourself or gave it to somebody else, maybe they'd feel a certain way a little bit. But there's even there's even been studies on like certain shapes, how they can affect people from looking at them. I even covered how this is another thing with sigils that gets really weird. I covered and and this was something that, again, kind of like looking at science in a sense from the past with people in the Renaissance. You had Giordano Bruno. Who was that? 15, 1600s. He got burnt at the stake, actually, too. he had a book, and you know, it was I forgot, I think it might be King Ferdinand, or somebody even checked out, not the book, but checked out how he how his memory was and could validate that this guy obviously isn't making shit up. And he had to convince him it was natural magic, so they didn't look at it in a bad way. But he had some sort of disc that had sigils and images on it and certain things. And he, I think it was like, I think he said 90 days or three months or something like that. If you looked at this correctly and looked at everything like you were supposed to do it inside the book, I think it was like a wheel where like certain things would change and you'd look at that or whatever, it would increase your memory like insane. And they even said that for when he went to prove it, it was almost like he had an encyclopedia fucking stuck in his head that he could recite. Like it was ridiculous.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Hmm.
Nick: And then if you go back to the 1100s or 1200s, you the Ars Notoria, which is an old grimoire, that's telling you the same thing. The sigils in there, you're supposed to look at and meditate on, and it's supposed to increase your memory and also help you with absorbing knowledge. So even back then, these people knew that some of these things you're actually supposed to be using on yourself. It's not meant to do it to somebody else, it's meant for you.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm-hmm. Sig Sigil Magic's a weird, like so. I have a book on sigil magic that I read through. And I like the only thing that I could kind of make sense of it with a from like a logical standpoint was that like you're repeating these shapes and associating them with certain things. So say it's you're want you're trying to like manifest whatever, more money. So you you build out a sigil that's like represents that to you, and you draw it again and again and again and again, and that just becomes like burned into your you're kind of like you know, whatever your your vision. And so you're just associating. It's it's it's I always just saw it as more of like a an association type thing. Like the same as like writing down affirmations kind of thing, but but there's obviously more to it than that. Is it in the is it in our DNA? You know what I mean? Like is it something that we've just in inherently in humans that they're gonna understand that and have through time or
Nick: Yeah, yeah.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Cause there are specific shapes that you're supposed to use for specific things. Like it's not you, you know, you're not just like doodling drawing whatever you want for it, but like Yeah. I I I tried to make like that's just, you know, because I'm not like a a practicing magic guy. So I just tried to like associate some sort of logic to it. Like, why does this work? And that was the only thing I could sort of connect with it. But I didn't really think, you know, like you're saying that there's actual shapes associated with yeah and for a long time right like you said eleven hundred that grim where the last one you mentioned you said eleven hundred so and it those things would still work
Nick: Well yeah, Arz Notoria is yeah, like the eleven hundreds or some shit like that. And that I think might be I don't want to like, you know, anybody I'm just this is I'm not saying this is definitely true. And I think that might be kind of like something that was put together from a compilation of other stuff. So I'm sure this idea may not originally came in Ars Notoria. I'm just saying that possibility. So it could be older.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: That's that's wild, man. There's it's yeah, it's pretty cool that there's like these these connections. 'Cause again, it kind of demystifies it, right? Like it's it's it it it removes the woo-woo from it when you can actually like sort of place a scientific kind of foundation on it. Like And this would
Nick: yeah. it's even like mantras, like you were kind of saying before, like depending on how you use a sigil. Some people like some chaos magicians I know, they're kind of using the sigil on themselves. And they'll repeat whatever they want over and over, kind of like as a mantra, as one way of charging it or just looking at it. And like even when you start repeating all that shit to yourself, I mean, that's your mind fucking yourself. I mean, it's basically MK ultering or propagandizing yourself. Not saying it's a bad thing, but you know, you're literally telling yourself what to believe or how to change. And you're looking at his symbol and you're looking at his symbol that once you start doing that, that's the thing too. I've even covered. If I look at a certain symbol and I keep telling myself something over and over again in that prayer, the next time I look at it, my brain's automatically gonna go back to that. Because I've told myself that shit a hundred times. You may even just like lightly glance at it, not think much of it, but your brain picked that up. Like it's gonna remember.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Could could you also
Nick: So that shit can actually keep reinforcing a thought in your head. And then could put you possibly, you're gonna, you're gonna put yourself into the right way to get to where maybe where you're going, but it's because you keep reminding yourself of that shit. And then you're just putting your next foot forward and getting there, you're on your own. There's no spirit going out into the fucking world, twisting people's arms to make shit work for you.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Right. It it's literally you doing it in a quantum manner, right? Yeah. Like you believe it. And isn't that part of a like a big part of magic, isn't it? Believing, right? Like absolute belief and believing what you're doing is yeah.
Nick: Yeah. That's yeah. Again, the expectation too. Yeah, what you're expecting to happen. Yeah.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. And combining that combining that with, you know, sigils that your eye recognizes and sends sends patterns to your brain right away. When you when you were talking with sigils too, I'd I I thought as immediately of of humans as well. Like we find the most the things we most find most attractive in the person we're attracted to are it's usually a symmetrical thing. Like we find people who are symmetrically pleasing more attractive than people who are not. And that would be not a sigil thing, but that would go along with the same, you know what I mean? There's a a certain thing in humans that we just innately find attractive and it immediately goes right to our brain. And I think that's the same kind of thing. Yeah.
Nick: Exactly. Like I was saying before, curves. You're like, that I even know no I the only reason I even came across that originally, I was studying architecture. I mean, that's another thing we can get into too. How sometimes these places, these religious places, their architecture, it's built to actually do shit too, like curves. Certain curved pillars, depending if it curves out or curves in, does a completely different thing to the sound.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah. Well that that's exactly it, right? Yeah. Like a any Mm-hmm.
Nick: Wild. And it's like, yo, did they know that? Like, like even certain places for Muslims for Islam, they're set up in a certain way. So then the person speaking at the front, but if you're all the way in the back, it sounds just as loud. They literally built the place to reverberate and do a certain thing. There's some places that a lot of chants were done at that, if you were to talk normal or whatever, it doesn't work. But once you go into a certain frequency with the chant,
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. yeah. For sure. Yeah. yeah I
Nick: Place was built a certain way to make it reverberate like twelve fucking seconds. It's it's wild. A lot of shit and that all starts to attack your nervous system.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, acoustics are crazy. Yeah. See when you when when you mentioned architecture, I was thinking something completely different. I was thinking like communist architecture. When you look at and and what's going on here in Canada, like older buildings that are getting torn down and what they're what they're putting up in their place are just cold cement, concrete, right? Like
Nick: A lot of that shit does. Wonder, yeah, if maybe those other things are built with some sort of power in them. Cause like even like labyrinths, do you ever see like those labyrinths and stuff? That starts messing with your perception, believe it or not. Some of these like old places that you know they show in like Egypt, I forgot, it might be Luxor, could be wrong, Kansu. you know, opens as you're walking in, it opens, gets smaller, opens again, gets smaller. Believe it or not, that shit all starts doing shit to your brain.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: And the wood. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Nick: You're even walking down like certain tunnels, it all starts to affect your nervous system. When you're in, like even with you know, in the dark, perfect example, sleep, those float tanks. When you're in the dark long enough, your body will actually start wondering like, where do I actually end? your brain will start wondering where does your body actually end? And that's why you can start getting some like pretty cool effects out of it.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. It's a w
Nick: And then that will affect your nervous system and your brain will I gotta make sense of this. Let's fill the gap somehow. Sorry to interrupt, but your brain will just not allow you to be confused. So I'll have to feed you some sort of bullshit to make sense of it.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: My wife swears. My wife swears by those float tanks. Sorry, and I was gonna just say my wife can't meditate, but those float tanks, like she started g doing the floats, and it it's the only way she says it's crazy. And she kind of almost wants to get out, like it's almost too much, but then actually starts enjoying it. And yeah, says it takes a while and her brain just she feels like she's everywhere. I I guess is the kind of way that she said. Yeah, yeah. Like she's everywhere, all over. Yeah, yeah.
Nick: I love them. yeah. Yeah. Yeah, because your body it doesn't see its boundaries. Yeah, it's fucking wild, dude. What I there's a lot of wild shit that I don't think that most humans or anybody would just even realize. And it's crazy. It's just like, you know, all this science is out there. How come we don't hear about this shit?
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Hey, one more to add to it. I I don't know how often you go out in the water. I know Andrew's not a big water guy, but I used to go out a lot, like we live very close to the ocean, big waves, all that. The best way to not get seasick is to stare at one object on shore that doesn't move. If you do that, you'll never get seasick because it it confuses your br because by going up and down, right? You're the I think it's your inner ear goes up and down and makes your brain think that's what you're doing.
Nick: Uh-huh. Yeah, equal to fucked up, yeah.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: But by just using your eyes to focus on one thing, you can kinda override that and your seasickness will be gone.
Nick: Yeah, your eyes is that's a whole other thing in itself. Yeah, yeah. Did I ever mention last time on your on your show that the back of your eye is where you actually convert sunlight into electricity?
The Eh-Soteric Archives: I think you we talked about eyes a little bit, but I don't think you mentioned that part. You were about to do a special on eyes, and I think you mentioned it yeah in passing, but you didn't you didn't kind of get into the the nitty-gritty of it.
Nick: yeah, between yeah. Yeah, there's a either e through your skin it'll also happen and through your eyes. the absorption of sun, there's actually a there's even a chemical process going inside your eyes and in your skin, but it does get eventually converted into electricity. Yeah. Yeah, but through your eyes through the optic chasm or the optic nerve, it goes from sunlight and gets trans you know, turned into electricity and then pumped into your brain.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Through your eyes. Well, we were talking about biophotons like a couple weeks ago, right? Which is basically just like the the light that the light that goes off in in your brain that like stores memory, that stores all that shit, right? Yeah.
Nick: meaning like was kidding. I'm covering something like that, covered up suit, yeah, about that and how their body does actually emit light in its own. I'm not trying to I've done a show on Auras where I was kind of like a little skeptical on it, I'll be totally honest with you. because a lot of tests that were done, people just really couldn't prove anything. But I do think there might be something there. I just think sometimes the people admitting it might be scam artists, and then they try to test them and it just doesn't work out well. But our body does just re regardless. I mean, how do we have thermal cam? Believe it or not, it's actually the light that the body's emitting. Yeah, there's a lot of stuff with our body actually emitting light that I don't think most people would even know.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah, well we yeah, we were talking about it in in the sense of like memories and like like dreaming like dreams and stuff like that, right? So like you're you by triggering certain biophotons, by triggering light responses in your brain, you can like restore memory, you can restore shit like that.
Nick: It could be like how sometimes it's almost like you have a photograph part of a fucking recollection or of a moment, like flash in your brain. Like yeah, yeah, yeah. Or it's like or it's like you know, another thing, even with like sense, you could smell something, it'll bring back a memory. And it's like you have like a second of it, it's like maybe that memory flashes in your head and you
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Deja vu. Yeah.
Nick: I wonder if like that image maybe comes from shit like that.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Well, yeah, we were talking about it even like dementia patients, right? So like you can play music from their youth and it'll almost like pause the the dementia symptoms, right? It'll like restore memory where they're like their their normal self again. And yeah, music is just frequency also. So same as light, right? It's it's all connected. It's pretty pretty interesting stuff.
Nick: Yeah. Yeah. I even covered a lot of things with herbs too. Sorry, took a big hit. I think I did five episodes on it so far. I was gonna do sorry. I was gonna do a specific mechanics of magic on it, but I have done because I want to turn it into a book too. I want to do a book on herbs and crystals. But the way I was looking at the way I'm looking at them is a little bit differently. I am covering them how they would normally be looked at from any other witch or magician for their magical uses.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm-hmm.
Nick: their attributes, what they're associated with, what gods, this and that, all that stuff will be in there, how it's used in spells. And then with the herbs, what they actually do to you. And a lot of them will affect like two to three of your of your cranial nerves. And a lot of them when you start seeing what they do, and then if you kind of look at it what you thought these people, you know, these old books are telling you what they're using it for. It's like I can almost see a connection. You know, something might help reduce the anxiety. You know, there's like ones that will like affect your vagus nerve. That's one of your 12 cranial nerves. And that runs from your throat basically all the way down to your sex organs. So you have a whole lot of shit in there that you can actually affect. And there's like just when you start seeing like something that will get rid of anxiety, you know, was that to get rid of demons? Like there's a lot of things that when you see the nerves that get affected by these herbs and you see what they can actually change with inside the person, it kind of almost mirrors like what you might be trying to banish. Cause you're gonna feel better afterwards. I mean, that was even another thing that I was even trying to show, you know, and not to like knock certain, you know, knock people, you know, maybe I'm completely wrong myself too, but like people might like myself included. I may have done something with Hathor or Toth because you know at one point I worked with them a lot. So sometimes I guess I would do things to I guess just invoke them and give thanks and you know give them offerings and blah blah blah. So I would do that, and it's like, you know, you burn these herbs and you do all this shit, and afterwards you feel all fucking great, and you're like, yeah, that really I must have really fucking toath was listening for sure. Fuck out of here. It's the fucking herbs, man. They're making me feel a certain way. So now of course I feel great. And I attribute that to my expect my fucking expectation again. Tolt's gonna be listening and I'm gonna be, you know, blah, blah, blah. No, he wasn't.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. It's just the herbs. The herb, yeah. Yeah. The herbs in your coin. The power of the mind, right?
Nick: it's the herbs in my fucking brain already telling myself that's what I'm doing. Yeah, I mean I again even for a certain occultist for people listening, I don't believe in all these gods anyway. That might even sound even crazier. But no, I don't believe that they exist. So that's another reason why I just even use that as an example.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Have you always felt that way? Cause I
Nick: for the most part, yeah. Even when I started getting into this stuff, I mean I'll keep it real. I even never the reason I got into occultism, mainly when I look at it, is because I I was very interested in the Bible, believe it or not, as a young kid. Especially when you're being told like there's a heaven and hell and you're gonna act this way or that way, or you're gonna go ahead and hell. It's like, well fuck. I really wanna know about this shit since it's determining my whole fucking life and all my choices. I started looking in and then just as a kid, I just, you know, probably should have probably looked into it a little bit more than I did. But like I was just felt like there's something in here that's like very deep and that most people probably aren't getting. Like I really did think that there was like some deep wild shit in there that was like either coded or just not being understood. So then I just started looking elsewhere for other things. But like I I always thought that it might have been a bigger picture or a story to tell something else or something deeper. And that's exactly kind of how I was looking at these other especially with the Egyptian pantheon, but like all these other pantheons or these pagan lineages, I never really like I've joked on the show, I don't think fucking Thor is sitting on a cloud waiting for me to call him and ask him to do a lower being a fucking favor. Like really? Like these these people have these gods have nothing else to do than to be summoned by fucking the these these human beings that can't get their shit together. Like, come on, man. Like, we're like, we're like, I don't know. Like, I don't think Akate's sitting around fucking finger popping himself, waiting for a motherfucker to invoke. You're like, yeah, give it up already. Like, I I think we
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. It's about more Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
Nick: Myself included when I first got into this shit. I I think a lot of times people and myself, you know, again, myself included with this too. you get into it partially maybe 'cause you feel powerless or you're looking for a way to get your power back or to get out of the bullshit or be more in control of yourself. So in that I would think like I need to get power of myself. Some sort of Powerless thing there. And I think sometimes us as humans, we will mind fuck ourselves in believing silliest, silly, childish shit to make ourselves feel better and empowered. Because we've been exposed to comic books and Walt Disney as little kids, we'll revert back to halfway thinking like that and pat ourselves on the back and encourage our delusions.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah.
Nick: And again, myself included, I've done all this myself in the beginning.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Well, yeah, I've always just I'm kinda w I'm with you. I I've always thought there's sorta people just put too literal of a spin on this stuff where it's like like you said, it's not like Thor's sitting on a cloud. It's it's more like what is Thor what does the idea of Thor actually represent in you? And how do you like embody that if that is something that you want to embody, right? Like
Nick: Like yeah, like even before when I was even talking about like, me invoking Toath, when I was invoking Toath, in my sense, I'm thinking it was like some energetic thing that I'm just trying to tap into. It's actually not some physical God. So like even then, and I still don't look at it like that, I look at it a little bit differently now, but like even then, I still like never I just didn't think there was some dude with a half fucking you know bird head waiting for me to call it.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Well the the whole concept of Christ, right? If we're gonna get biblical with it, it's the whole concept of Christ is a like the Christ consciousness thing.
Nick: Hmm. Yo, I just saw Yo, I just saw some real and I was like, yo, this fucking dude nailed it. Like I think he might, I don't I didn't look at his other shit. I don't know if he's like against magic and occultism itself, or he's just kind of like shitting on like the new age shit. But he was literally showing how a lot of this new age stuff we got right now parallels fucking Christianity. Ridiculously. Just take out Jesus and put in the universe, and you got all the same shit the universe just did for you.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah.
Nick: Jesus does the same shit for a Christian.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah.
Nick: It's just like so many things. It's just instead of these motherfuckers with these gigantic churches, you got these shamans that you don't even realize are wearing a 300 fucking dollar shirt.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah man, I I yeah, I tend to agree. I think it's it's a lot of the same stuff, just rebranded, really.
Nick: Yeah, yeah. I mean the guy the guy actually showed like a whole bunch of stuff that I was just Can't remember it all, but like was a couple of minutes. But I was like, shit, like you were right. It is a lot. I even put out a thing myself today. Prayers on Substack. Christian, you know, that's a Christian thing. That's a ritual technology, man. I mean it's a same it's the same thing as a mantra for us. But but you guys use it as a prayer, say it's a prayer. All of a sudden now it's okay. It's fucking we've been that's been being done before Jesus from magicians, alchemists, mystics.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah.
Nick: It's not original. Neither is the idea of the virgin. I even put out a thing on that. That was the Parthenoi, cult of Vina, all these Aphrodite. The whole idea. Yo, there's even stuff in all this, you know, all the scriptures that people have looked at that go into a little bit more about Joseph. And like, and I think it's even even accepted. He not to not to get off a tangent, it's just some really interesting shit when you start looking.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah.
Nick: Joseph was basically like a dude who was like, yo, you gotta look over this young girl and make sure that she does the right thing because she's devoting her life to Jesus to the church. To the church and that. He wasn't her husband.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm-hmm.
Nick: And back then, virgin only meant you weren't married. And I know some people are here with this and that, but that's no, that's legit. That's actually that's considered like truth. So like when you start looking at the story, like it's it's very weird. You know, it's not it's not just cut and dry. I mean, even like look at this, people want to make fun of the OT. Now I again I do think the I don't I don't suggest joining orders and staying in them too long.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Okay. Yeah.
Nick: And if there's anything that you think is weird and uncomfortable, don't do it. But in in one of the initiations, you know, I've mentioned where I have to get naked, and people will be like, that's fucking crazy. And I do think it is a little crazy. But if you go look how baptisms were originally done so you could join the fucking church, you were getting stripped naked, and then you're walking into the water or going into the tub, getting dunked, and then put new sh clothes on.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm-hmm.
Nick: It's the same fucking thing. You just got naked in front of how many people to pus to profess your fucking belief in Jesus that's gonna save you so you can join a church.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, yeah.
Nick: You're not getting in unless you do that. That is a fucking initiation and a ritual.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah.
Nick: And then like you can even look at the history, how they started tweaking it and changing it. Like, but like they would use art again to already make it seem so fucking grand about what you're about to do as you're looking at all this art around the tub. Like they knew how to mind fuck motherfuckers with scenery.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: What's I I think like everything they took a pot what possibly was a good and I'm not religious at all. Andrew knows that and now you and everyone else does. but I do believe that Christ possibly walked this earth. I do believe there's some truth to the story. I just think it got co-opted and they took a whole bunch of other stories. And yeah. Like there's a lot of Norse mythology that fits in with a lot of a lot of the Jesus thing. There's there's Greek mythology, right? Like sun gods and mithrys and thing. Like there's a lot of other stories. It looks like they just kinda
Nick: Yeah, no, I wouldn't I wouldn't doubt that. No, I
The Eh-Soteric Archives: I took a bunch of hodgepodge stories at the time, cobbled it together and and this is Christianity and here we are two thousand years later still talking about it. Yeah.
Nick: Even even with if you look at how the baptism was done, I mean it really how originally was done, it was so fucking focused on death and rebirth. I actually think the baptism was bringing people to NDEs. That's just my idea.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: like drown drown for a little bit so they they have a bit of a bit of an experience and then kind of bring them back and they think they saw yeah. Huh.
Nick: Bit a taste of what yeah. You might appreciate life and look at it a little bit differently after that. You know, a lot of people who say that they have NDEs, they get very spiritual and connected.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Anyone I don't know very many who have had them, but anyone that I know who has had one, yeah, was very different after. Yeah. Very, very, very different. Looked at the world differently, yeah, very different. Yeah.
Nick: It changes them forever. Yeah. No, but I do think that's quite a possibility. Cause like even if you it's just so funny how you even look at like how it's changed over time. To where like a there was even arguments in the within the church about like really like we went from having to dunk somebody full body into something to now three drops over a fucking kid's head's okay.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah.
Nick: You know, it's just like, know, where they you could just see how like certain situations are just changed to suit that. And it's probably more just to give people a fucking ease. But it's just, yeah, it's even interesting watching the evolution of the baptism. But I do think again, like you're even saying, some things may have gotten changed or fucked up over time. I do think that that baptism was probably real and it might have been a little bit more deeper than people are thinking.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Well yeah, it made it makes you wonder like what part of because there's yeah there's so many connections between different religions and cultures and stuff, so it's like what part of that story was actually accurate. When we were talking to Miguel Connor, he was like he was basic he was our first guest ever that we had on, yeah. yeah, I was I was just as shocked as you are. Yeah.
Nick: nice you had him on. damn. Okay, good for you. First guess. That's pretty masterphnosticism.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: But he said something really interesting that was basically like that like humans need religion, so we'll create religion out of anything. Because if we don't, then the state'll do it for us, right? So it's it it's like which is what you see, you know, with like science and stuff, basically, right? Like everyone believes the experts and
Nick: Yes. I agree.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: And so like, but what about those? It made that's what makes me wonder is like what part of the story is actually just like burned into our DNA that we just naturally if you were to like if you were to erase all world religions and like do a clean slate, wipe the memory kind of thing, would we then create a religion that mimics that again? You know what I mean?
Nick: Yeah, yeah, it's just really an interesting thought.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. I don't know.
Nick: yeah, like or let's yeah, let's yeah, right? If you just like wipe the planet clean, start it all over, drop the dropped off a few humans with no idea of anything, and see what the fuck they come up with. It could possibly kind of start like it did before. I mean, I could see how it makes sense to start looking at the sun and the moon and the stars because it's right there. And then eventually told make up tales about it and I don't know. Not saying that all religions are that. I'm just saying like that's you know, the first things that start, obviously is
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah.
Nick: Looking at the shit just around you.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Well, and that's why like the way you say like magic is the like it's a it's a personal practice, right? Like you're supposed to be doing these things to yourself, but those that actually understand it on a higher level, there's that side of it where they now use it against people or use it on the masses. Like I I I wanted to bring up like in in the episode that I the the mechanics of magic that I listened to. Talking about drumming because I'm a drummer, so like I definitely can speak to like when I'm playing drums, I feel like I'm in a trance. Like there's nothing else going on. You you have to be you're in you're in it, you know. Yeah, and then I s I it it got me thinking of like, you know, like house music, trance music. Go I've been to raves and stuff, and and the like, you know, everyone's everyone's kind of like in it together.
Nick: yeah, your body loves like a tempo. Hell yeah. Hell yeah. In sync, yeah. Especially when there's that build up and that bass drop, everybody moves, man.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, it's a trippy experience. But then on the flip side of it, using it like you were talking about, with like military drumming and like you know, like war drums and stuff like that to like basically usher like cause who's gonna walk into war like on their own, right around their own volition if you're actually thinking straight, but if you're in this like trance, you know.
Nick: With a bunch of other people doing it.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, it got me that was a that was kind of a freaky thought, you know.
Nick: that's even that's even another thing that I synchrony. that even I I brought up when and I'm not so again I'm not I'm not doing any of this to knock Christianity or Catholicism. Believe it or not, I'm a fan of both. but you know, I did a thing on Christian churches and how I have I only did three or four parts of it. I have like 18 episode series on this for about an hour each. But showing how I think churches are kind of like ritual technology. You know, or they ad or they definitely adapted to it, I think you to use them that way. But even like the synchrony, when you start getting people doing synchronized shit in church or military or other places, that again will start to affect you. And it will it's even showed that your brain will start like pumping out dopamine. Where it can be considered almost a mild painkiller, but it will almost give you like a euphoric feeling when people start doing things synchronized. It just for some reason, we just start all doing that. So, like you could be, I'll use it for me as an example. I've I've gone when I was a Christian at one point, I went to Baptist churches, they can really get down with the music, you know what I'm saying? Everybody's doing their shit. yeah, you feel God, all right. It's the fucking chemicals pumping out of your fucking brain right now.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's yeah, it's it's it's weird. It's it's just interesting to me how like yeah, it can be used on a personal level, it can be used for a positive.
Nick: I mean they even do that initiations or tribal stuff, you know, not just church. Think about that in so many other situations.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. It's it's definitely a way to it's it's an easy way to get the get into trance state. And so do you think it's a because everyone's vibing kind of the same that that like how does it work? That's that's what I'm getting at. Or is it just a why why do we like it so much? Like I was thinking of the when you say I I keep thinking of different things because I'm not a magic-minded person first, but when you said
Nick: Yeah, right. No, I've thought of that too. Is it just like this? Well no, that's good though. Your questions might actually be really good then.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: But I was thinking of like a sync I was thinking of a wave at a sporting event. Like at a you know what I mean, a shitty baseball game where it's eight one in the seventh inning and pissing rain, but everyone starts doing the wave and then everyone's wide awake and Yeah.
Nick: Mm. Every starts cheering and feeling that was awesome. We all did that together. I was a part of that. Yeah, yeah, it feels great. Human connection. Yeah.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Same kind and it is a it's a dope meeting. Yeah. Well it's a heartbeat. That's t to me, that's that's why, right? Like it w and when your like nervous system is calm and it's it's a synchronized, steady heartbeat when you're like
Nick: Yeah.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: in an intense scenario and your heart's beating fast, right? It like dry it drives your cortisol levels up and just so there's like ways to invoke different states based on that rhythm. So I would think that if you like, you know, like war drum war drums are like usually slower and steady. So you're trying to like You're going into a a really tense situation, but you're trying to bring the everyone's like heart rate and nervous system down to a level, steady state by like having them lock into a slower
Nick: Yeah.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: slower rhythm. While they have the anticipation of knowing what's coming because they're hearing the war song that they you know what I mean that they know so they have an expectation now of of what's gonna happen. And your heart will synchronize to beats as well. Like the same thing where like yeah if you're at a if you're at a rave like and and people say like you can feel the music in your chest like it's it's your body actually synchronizing to the music.
Nick: Yep, there you go. Well That's even vibrating your brain in the water.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, true. Yeah. Huh.
Nick: I mean that's even a thing with mantras. I mean eventually you're actually vibrating the inside of yourself. You know, there's shit with that as well.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yes, And it explains line dancing for me because I never fucking understood line dancing, but no, I guess that's it. Yeah. Synchronization for those types. Yeah. Yeah. You yeah, I think you mentioned off air before we came on too that there's something with music. You were looking at something with music as well in and and Germany and Yeah.
Nick: Yeah. Hey, you know you're missing that. yeah, yeah. there was studies. I mean the Germans were even doing it. I think even prior. I think all the way back to to World War One, they were looking into music and drumming kind of as a way to get people amped or more of like accepting war. And the Germans definitely tried to use music basically as say you're almost kind of like teetering propag propaganda with this at this point. Or some sort of like mind control where yeah, through music and like certain kind of ways that it's the music was done with whatever's being said, they realized they could amp people up and kind of get them going and ready for war or accepting of it.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Hmm. And yeah, and if you look at the music industry too, right? Like there's lots of examples of how many people have used music to fuck with everyone's brain, right? Yeah. Yeah.
Nick: yeah. Yeah, it was I wish I yeah it's a pointless for me to even bring it up. There was some reel I saw on some like old school rapper that died not too long ago. And they were saying that they've even like like looked at his music now and like somehow they're like this guy must have realized like he did certain things, certain music in the way he actually spoke, they noticed must have been intentional because it actually was like Would create it's was like certain melodies or tempos or something that actually would make you feel certain ways. Like this guy was actually doing specific shit in his music to make you feel specific shit. Which I suspected ODB was doing of Wu Tang, which is why he sang so ridiculously. It's because I think he understood sound.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Just by the way he was speaking. Hmm. Yeah. I mean they use like in like torture techniques and stuff, they use heavy metal and and like death metal and stuff to to break people, right? Which I mean makes sense. For me it'd be country. Yeah, you lock me in a room with Lars all ricked all strumming and that'll drive me nuts too. Yeah. He's shit.
Nick: yeah, yeah, yeah. What do you think about him as a drummer? I've heard a lot of drummers say that actually be like, Yo, I don't know how he decided to be the most cockiest one too out of
The Eh-Soteric Archives: He's so like early Metallica stuff. There there's actually some interesting drum parts in early Metallica, but the what what boggles my mind with him is how you play for that long in one of the biggest bands in the world and progressively get worse. Like you think like people get better usually.
Nick: I heard a lot of people say he was a shit drummer. Yeah, see that was the thing always said that yeah, that he actually did, yes. He got like more simple or worse.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, and he well and he he he notoriously doesn't practice. Like that's his thing. He's like, I don't rehearse. It's like what the fuck is wrong with you, man? Like I don't know. To me, like it's just pe I know people still love to go see Metallica and and they have
Nick: I've seen him, but yeah, I I just never cared for Lars anyway.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: They have an undying fan base, but I just like to me it's like su doing such an injustice to your fans to like just phone it in for thirty fucking years. Like I I yeah. It's frustrating.
Nick: Yeah. I think I think it was an injustice to anything. I mean, from my opinion, I think the black album was already going downhill, but I think anything after that they put out was an injustice to their fans. They should have just fucking ended it then. so they put out an album which album they never had one guitar solo on it. Saint Anger?
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, I I've never been a big Metallica fan. Yeah, yeah. And the w the worst snare sound ever. Yeah. I remember that. Yeah. Yeah. It's like hitting a hitting a keg with a baseball bat. It's like, yeah. And that was right at the height of when Metallica was mad at everyone for downloading music for free off Napster. Napster shit. Yeah. That was the one I I Black Album, I think, for me was the last decent decent Metallica, but even that one wasn't that great. They did go downhill. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Nick: The fuck? Yeah! Yo, you remember that? Yeah. Yeah, it was going downhill but it was catchy. And there was some there was some good riffs on there for sure. It's just
The Eh-Soteric Archives: They get for sure. They they have some good songs. Like that, but it's just they get too much of a pass for being like the you know, the godfathers of metal. And I just don't get it. Like
Nick: no, I agree with that. I I've even thought of that too. It's just like I don't know. I've wondered like if you start looking at a lot of other bands around in that time and if you look at their lyrics, they actually seemed a little bit more controversial and political then. Metallica's they may have in some ways, but if you really look at their lyrics, a lot of it really wasn't like getting specific.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm-hmm.
Nick: And I wonder if that just helped because they really weren't they were kind of like not they didn't pick a side. So it was easier to just say, let's put these motherfuckers up. I don't know, it's more appealing. 'Cause I you listen to Slayer and Anthrax and Mega That they're all telling you the government's gonna fuck you in the ass with vaccines and war.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. I Yeah. Yeah. Hey there's
Nick: Slayer, they're all telling you the same shit. Even fucking Prince was telling you the same shit they were.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Even Limp Biscuit. There is a bunch of shit out about Limp Biscuit. They they kinda I'm not saying I'm a huge Limp Biscuit fan. I think Fred Durst is pretty cool shit though now. But there was a whole thing of that white like rap, that white angry rap of like the late nineties, early two thousand, that they got rid of it. Because it had too many political messages in it. Yeah. And they didn't want people to there's a level of musicianship to it still though too. Like Limbiscit's actually like the the members of like Fred Durst, whatever. He's a he's the front man, right? He's just the hype man, but like the actual actual musicianship of the band is like top tier. Like they're all amazing musicians. And yeah, in metal, a lot of the time that you get a lot of like that's you know, top level musicians. That's kind of what where they reside, but I yeah, I don't know. It's again Metallica just seems like they're they're just driven by the industry. Like they're definitely put on by the industry, kept at the top by the industry for a reason. So yeah. They don't really ruffle feathers. Exact yeah, exactly.
Nick: Yeah. Yeah, that's what I was getting at with their lyrics. They are they really didn't compare to I mean, even look at Ozzy, how much shit he was saying, actually. If people were to go back and listen to half the shit he was saying, they'd be like, as a conspiracy theorist now, you would be saying, like, back then this is fucking this and that. You're like, No, this guy just sounds like one of us now. The fucking war machine, war page. People ever listen to the fucking lyrics of that actually?
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that that song's been applicable since he since it first came out. Yeah. Like everywhere. Yeah, yeah. And it's it hasn't changed. It was applicable then, it's applicable now. Yeah. Yeah. But then you like again though, then you look at like the industry sweethearts, look at like Rage Against the Machine, and they're like propped up as this like, you know, anti establishment, but like Neil Young.
Nick: Yeah, for real. go get your vaccines.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, right. But they're not saying anything really. No. They're just, you know, catchy, catchy hooks, but not really saying much, you know. Rage used to though. Yeah. But it yeah, I guess, yeah. Yeah.
Nick: Yeah, for some reason with the Covid shit they they they buckled.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, right. When I say they used to, I mean like nineteen ninety-two, ninety-three, right? Anger's a anger's a gift and all that stuff. And you know, Friday songs, things that they s sung about. But a lot of surface level stuff though, too. If you actually like break down the lyrics, a lot of it's very surface level. It's like it it comes across as like anti-establishment and stuff, and there's like the whatever, the angst behind it, but it's not specific. Like
Nick: Yeah. No, you're right. Yeah, you're very right.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: You know, it's it's And the fact that they've been prophet.
Nick: Brought up I it brought up ideas that we would eventually pick and choose and use for specifics.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, yeah. But I don't know. I don't know. I'm a rush guy. I'm a Yeah. Yeah. And then that and I mean so Neil Pert wrote a lot of the lyrics for for Rush and he was very, very into the occult. yeah, a lot a lot of their lyrics are very
Nick: shit. Okay. Yeah? I thought some of their album art as a kid was very fucking weird.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah. You should dig into them. If you can get past Getty Lee's voice, which I understand why that's usually the reason people don't get into Rush is cause, you know, you got this like high pitched voice, which well but And their starman logo, right? Is him the Starman holding the pentagram back. Yeah that's their whole yeah. They're they're they're very
Nick: Yeah, yeah. no, yeah, normally,
The Eh-Soteric Archives: I didn't realize how occult they were actually until you and I started talking about it. Tool's another one too, right? Yeah. Everything in Tool. Yeah. And I didn't realize any of that when I was a kid. And now that I'm learning what I'm learning, every time I listen to Tool, I hear stuff I never heard before. Like I I never
Nick: huge, yeah. Huge. Yo, he's been going to get sigils on his drum skins or do you ever see those magic squares? Where he'll even have those on there. And it's like I I'm just guessing that when he's drumming, maybe sometimes he's hitting like certain spots on the square. I don't know if you know what I'm saying. Like, why is that on your drum skin?
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. He's a he is a Freemason. He always wears the 33 jersey while he's playing. If you ever notice that. And and all and all their Yeah. Yeah. And all their all their arts, Alex Gray stuff too, right? Which is all like super hyper consciousness and yeah. Yeah.
Nick: Don't give fuck. He's doing he's doing he's doing him, man. Who cares? No, I think I think they definitely they've had some experiences. I think they've seen the other side, for sure. Not not in a bad way. I just think they're very enlightened and intelligent people.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Agree. And they don't talk about it, which I also they don't bring it up as a part of their you know what I mean? Anything. Maynard never talks about it. I shouldn't say never, very rarely talks about it. He's more apt to talk about his winery or MMA or something like that than he is about the occult, but they do the timing so they 'cause they they're like notorious for changing time signatures in their songs and stuff and there's a lot of like there's a lot of like
Nick: Run.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: sacred mathematics behind the specific time signature changes, which they've I've heard interviews where they kind of talk about it, but then you know, like the interviewer if the interviewer never really understands it. I don't understand it when they're talking about it. I'm like, okay, cool, I guess. But like they're basically like casting a spell in the song by changing at certain points to different time signatures. And the way it's counted out. It's pretty cool. Yeah.
Nick: Mm. That's interesting. I should maybe look into that a little bit more. There was a
The Eh-Soteric Archives: I totally I would totally get that. Yeah. And and that I know I keep bugging you about that Angine de Poitrine that they're cause they have a lot of time signature changes as well in their music and it does it does something to you. Like I've listened to Tool and loved them my whole since they've come out. Yeah. And there's a way like when you listen to Tool, which I do usually for a while when I start, it just it does kind of send you somewhere. I think that's like so I like you know I was never a tool fan. I know you don't like them. And that's it was always more that I didn't like tool fans more than I didn't like tool because they freaked me out. The first
Nick: yeah. I can see it.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: I so I went
Nick: I can see.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: to pick up mushrooms when I was like in my early twenties from this guy and he was like listening to tool really loud in his apartment and had like all these like terrariums with snakes and shit and like black lights on and it just freaked me the fuck out and he's like you gotta listen to this album when you take these shrooms and like it was just like and I was like I think I'm good. I think I'm good on tool now. I don't need to like so I kind of wrote them off because of that guy. That that dumb asshole. That's his fault. Good mushrooms though? actually one of the freakiest trips I ever had, yes.
Nick: well that whole experience already did you eat him the same day? You know, I wouldn't doubt that that experience with you buying him, you might have set off that fucking trip. That helped.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, I did. Yeah, yeah. So I owe I owe Tool another chance, I guess. Yeah, they're not for everyone, but
Nick: I I like them and I definitely think they're gr great musicians. Their music's great. I just never got like gung ho about But I definitely I definitely think they're you know what's funny, I got put on by them from my mother.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Really?
Nick: Yeah, my mom was like, yo, this is a band that has the weirdest videos. She's like they're called tools. She's like, check them out. That was like when Soba came out and I had that like that video with like the thing going through the the pipes and the holes. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, my mom my mom was just so weird to my mom
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Shit pipe. Yeah. Yeah yeah. Huh. I remember that video. Yeah, it made it was very hard. It was like a train wreck, right? Very hard to watch, but you somehow couldn't look away, even though you knew you should. Engrossing, yeah. No way. Yeah.
Nick: Yeah, yeah. That in Twin Peaks she put me on to. Yeah, I had no idea what that shit was until my mother was. Mother told me about that. She's telling me there was some weird ass show she would watch late at night. She's yo, there's this lady with a log that she talks to. Like she was just saying this shit is so weird. She's like, I have to watch it because it's just so weird. And I remember hearing about it like later on, years later, because like I think a couple of my friends got into it. And I was like, my mom told me that shit was bugged out. I was I gotta check this shit out. I was like, what the fuck is this? My mom watched this.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that kind of became like the it's like a cult classic now. Like
Nick: yeah, yo. There's times people will be lined up at that diner waiting to get fucking pie and coffee. Or they used to be times to do this. Yeah. Yo, I think last year, last year I could be wrong, but that guy Kyle who played Detective Cooper. yeah, yeah, it was Cooper, right? Yeah, ag Agent Dale Agent Dale Cooper. Kyle, he drove past the diner on the exact minute when he first showed up there in the show.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah.
Nick: in his car and people were waiting to watch him drive past it.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Huh. Weird. That is really weird. Huh.
Nick: Still to this day. Yeah, there's still like a cult following to this day for that show.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah. Not a not a show I ever kinda I've seen a few shows and I remember watching their movie as well, which I think if I watched the shows I would have got a lot more out of the movie because then they have a movie as well. Yeah, yeah. That that's it, yeah. David Cronenberg's a a crazy he's a mind fuck of a director and writer. That that that's who it is, right? Isn't it David Cronenberg? no. David David Lance, that's what sorry. Yeah. Both of them are though. Yeah.
Nick: Yeah, fire woke and be bugged out. Yeah. David Lynch. Yeah, yeah. I was like, I was when you said that, I was like, did he work on it with him? I was like, no. No, it's all right. It's yeah. David Lynch fans, yeah, they'd want to lynch it for that, for sure. But yeah, that he's definitely very occult though. If you're ever interested, I would definitely check his shit out. Extremely occult, in my opinion. It's all over the shit.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Don't want to make that mistake again. No, call someone the wrong name. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, there's I mean it's everywhere in music and film and and all that, right? Like which is like it make it it's it's always made me wonder like how 'cause some sometimes like people that get into that stuff or that are trying to get a message through with their music and whatever are just silenced completely. And then they let some some of them get, you know, blow up and become like icons and I don't really understand why. Why some are allowed and some are are hidden away. Like
Nick: Yeah. yeah, I know exactly what you're getting at. I think sometimes the ones that that become more popular tend to shape the minds of people in a worse way.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm.
Nick: They become more of idols instead of people giving them a message for freedom.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, I guess. I could see that.
Nick: You know, there's like, you know, I would you know, say a lot of like in the hip hop or rap or pop, you know, you got a lot of these artists that are like fucking off the hook. And they all got some, you know, they always gotta get involved in some sort of fucking theory or idea of some political shit or some way to act or pushes like, you know, over sexuality. You know, and then you'll have like an actual person who's like really, you know, gifted and talented and knows a really good musician.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm-hmm.
Nick: Saying something completely different to help you to get out of that bullshit. Yeah, you're not gonna hear that. One, like, you know, we can probably control this person and make their shit commercialized. You know, this is the record producer once they sign that paper and own them. And, you know, they already realize that they're probably like fucked up, regardless if they're into the occult or not, to where they know that the agenda that they wanna kinda help push, this motherfucker's gonna do it on their own.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah, it's always the ones that tend to like push towards groupthink and and that shit, right? Yeah.
Nick: Yeah, exactly. Yeah, yeah. Or helps like if you don't, you know, or helps keep going with like a mantra of an image. You know, keeps, you know, even like the whole gangster rap shit. How many of those motherfuckers are really gangsters? You know, looking back at it now, a lot of those people are coming out where they're probably fucking CIA.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, not very many. Uh-huh.
Nick: You know, and then you get like, you know, so it's like that, just like that over and over again, sort of getting people to act or mimic them. You know, you get enough Nicki Minajes out there, and now this is exactly what you get on social media. A chick doesn't fucking really have any value unless she shows her ass.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm. totally. Taylor Swift, right? How old is she well, she's married now, because I guess she just got just got married, but right? Like super rich, whatever, childless, like always miserable. Pardon me. I think I agree with you. I think for sure. Have you heard the stuff about her being and is it Anton Leves daughter? Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
Nick: Small little shit is how we got there like that. god. I think she's a witch. I think she's into the occult. I think she's like a witch. Yeah, I see. Yo, she does look a lot like her. I tried I actually tried getting her I tried getting fuck, I forgot her name. Holy shit. His his daughter and his daughter's husband on the show, but I can't get him. Yeah.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, I could see her being a witch. She definitely has a spell over people. Yeah, it turns Like after this weekend.
Nick: They're now Buddhist. They're both Buddhists now. No, they've been Buddhist for a while.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Wow. They just became Buddhists, But yet had
Nick: no, I'd say I'd say that's probably they they might be Buddhist for like ten years now. It's it's been a minute. Yeah. I knew of her f I knew of her for a while and I just I didn't know. Believe it or not, when I heard that she went like with Buddhism, I just figured like she probably broke up with the other dude. You know, no, he went with Buddhism too and they're still together.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Interesting.
Nick: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's why I wanted to get on too, to talk about like the whole change. You know, what what made you go from
The Eh-Soteric Archives: I thought for a second you meant Taylor Swift was Buddhist now. You mean Anton Levet? Yeah.
Nick: No, no, no, no. Yeah, yeah. No, no, Anton LeVay's daughter. I can't remember her fucking name. her. The one that they always compare Taylor Swift to.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: his actual daughter. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Nick: Yeah, yeah. She's a Buddhist now and so is her husband. They used to be they were originally Church of Satan and then they went over to the Temple of Set and then they just became Buddhists at some some point.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. So that does when you were saying it, I thought you meant Taylor Swift and I don't follow her. I don't follow her enough to know her, whatever. And I was like, that's interesting, whatever. But that is that's actually a crazier one to go from the Church of Satan to to the Temple of Set to Buddhist. I'd like to, yeah. You should get her on to hear how that progression happened.
Nick: no, I have no way. Yeah, I can't believe I can't remember that Yeah, Xena. Zina LeVay. Yeah. Yeah, then her husband was like in the werewolf order or some shit that was inside the I remember that from the Geraldo show. Or like Sally Jesse Raphael when they were on one of those shows.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Okay. The warrior princess. Yeah. Yeah. Huh. That's yeah, that's that's quite the character arc.
Nick: yeah, right.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah.
Nick: So I thought it would have been wild if I could have got him on the show and been like, yo, I remember seeing this fucking dude on Heraldo when I was a kid. And now he's on my podcast. What the fuck? The guy had his hair slicked back and his eyebrows done talking about being part of the werewolf order. And now I got him on my show. What the fuck? It's just like so wild and weird and surreal.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: And now he's a Buddhist. Yeah. Yeah. Huh. Well, yeah, man. What else what else do you with the with your mechanics and magic stuff, what what other
Nick: I'm I'm working on the eyeball right now. Then eventually I do have mantras that I want to put out there. I have that done. And then that and the herbs thing, and then I really want to start hitting start getting into it more with like actually going to the sigils and the talismans. I have a three-part series already written up and ready on that. And then actually like how rituals and initiations, the way they're structured and how that all you know, creates a mind fuck, it attacks your your body in a sense. Yeah, but I'm like trying to like progress to kind of get to like a you know, once I get to that end, you know, get to the point of like the rituals and initiations, I wanna make sure I have a lot of shit. So it's basically like I pretty much covered everything that's gonna be in the room and shit that you've used.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah. Cool.
Nick: I got stuff coming out with I'm editing it right now, actually. it's not mechanics of magic, but it's a little bit more science where sh it's just it's something that I've noticed, and you know, I'm not attacking well, I guess maybe ignorant ones. There seems to be a lot of satanic panic going on lately. You know, I think it's a little silly. And there's just certain Christians with microphones, and again, I have no problems with Christianity, just you know, ignorance.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: yeah.
Nick: Fucking Christians, just like any ignorant person, that gets annoying after a while, but seems to think that like God, what is that? Sleep paralysis is demonic. And I put out a I'm just put out an episode explaining how that actually works and what happens to
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Forget who I was listening to. Someone was talking about like the the recent like kind of push to for the especially the online push for like people getting back into Christianity and all this like the
Nick: Dude, it is it is huge in the conspiracy theory. Yeah. Everything like everything that they don't understand, they just attach to demons now.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: It's big time, right? And like, yeah, the well and even like in the astrology world and stu Yeah. In the astrology world, all these like tarot card readers and stuff are like now like turning to Jesus and like kind of like reverting back to but So the person I forget where I what I was listening to, but their their explanation, their like reasoning behind it was basically that We're that we're in such turbulent times with everything now that it's like everyone's nervous systems are so shot that they're just like it's it's just reverting back to the most basic kind of like child childhood belief system and and you know, in the Western world, that's yeah.
Nick: They're dumbing them down. They're dumbing them down. That's the issue that I have with it too. And I've I've covered some shit in the past to like, you know, kind of think like even give people an idea where I'm going with this. You know, I covered how Christianity came to be. I covered all these other things that these groups that are now considered Gnostics, but I mean they were all just different Christian sects. My opinion, Christians were mystics. They were occultists in their own way. And I think if you look at what determined what Christians believed, the Catholic Church told them. And some of those, and I am also a fan of Plato and Neoplatonism, some of those were Platonists or Neoplatonists, and they did not like Gnostics. They don't like the Gnostic beliefs. So they started attacking certain Gnostic sects that had certain beliefs within Christianity, and then literally changed or made actual rules and laws amongst the church. To s make them better. Like you guys got shit on by the Catholic Church, but I do believe you were you're you're you're our brothers and sisters. You're no different than us occultists at most of these. But that's where you came from.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it put it just put limitations on the practice, basically, right?
Nick: You know, and that's that's the thing that I think is upsetting. Is now they've been so dumbed down and made things everything's demonic that they don't look where they used to to learn.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. There's yeah, the that's I think that the guy was talking about that too, where it's like it's it's putting limitations on the practice where it's like now there's now these deities are the the approved, you know, four or five saints and there were twenty, thirty, but those guys are now demonic, so only like and a lot of the ones that they were allowed to remain worshipping were all about, you know, like control. Like it wasn't actually like any anything that like
Nick: Exactly Exactly.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: promoted individuality, anything that promoted individual practice or like like self-governance, things like that were were shunned and replaced with the ones that were like basically to a way to control the person's life and, you know, like fear-based shit.
Nick: Yeah, there was even I was gonna do a show on some of the people that, you know, determined those things and it's like not knocking them. I don't think they had did anything weird, but I think if these radicalized Christians were to even look at how these people that determined Christianity even thought their own beliefs and their own practices, if you didn't know they had anything to do with Christianity and I just told you this person and what they did, you'd say that they were fucked up. We're like, no, it's actually the motherfucker that helped define your belief system.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm-hmm. I I I I agree with what both of what you guys said though too. I think that a lot of people are moving towards it because of the uncertainty and it gives them what they think is certain certainty. Yeah. Yeah. And it takes takes some of the you know the worry maybe out of their hands or like I I was just gonna say there's one there's one podcaster or not podcaster, there's one Nick Hinton we've talked about a few times before. And
Nick: Wake up. the world is fucked up right now, man. You know you know how easy I almost had him on. I could get him on. You had him on?
The Eh-Soteric Archives: No, no, I'd love to talk to him though because he likes he he sometimes has the craziest tangents. Like he and he and he can he can pull things out of nowhere, but but since he's and I know he's found Orthodox Christianity and he talks a lot about that and he still talks about the other
Nick: I can get him on if you want. I have his number and everything. Yeah. That's why I wanted to get a watch. But he's still out there though with some of his theories and ideas.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: He is, he is. But he has a lot a lot of things are the devil though now. Like a lot of things are because of the devil or because of and it's just it's interesting to see that switch in him in a couple of years and and I don't know if it just makes it easier for him to accept some things he couldn't find answers for. Cause I think that is it in this.
Nick: yeah. No, I know. That's, you know, for me knowing a little bit of personal stuff about him and shit that he's told me over the phone, I could see how like just the circumstances he's gone through, you could start thinking that. Cause I mean, this kid got involved in Rando Nordica thinking it was a completely different thing and literally watched it get co-opted. And that's why he backed the fuck out.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah.
Nick: You know, and there's just other things in his life that I could see how you'd start thinking neither there is some real evil side and this shit, you know, some dark side of shit.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, he got he got stalked by a bunch of weird things too. And he had a I know I've heard a lot of when he was on higher side chats that he talked about a lot of things that happened to him on his on some journey. He went across the States and things that he noticed that, yeah. And this gave him certainty, right? Like it gave him peace and gave him comfort and
Nick: Yeah, no, I think so. Yeah. Well, that's see, that's what I was just gonna get at right now, with the way the world is so fucked up. I'm gonna keep it real. It's easier, I think. And this is also a a double-edged sword, and just well, not even a double-edged sword, it's it's horrible in so many ways. Instead of thinking humans are capable of doing this, no, it's gotta be the demons making them do it. No, we're just that fucked up.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, yeah.
Nick: And you gotta take some fucking accountability on
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. yeah, I agree. I think it's
Nick: And for a lot of people that even are I I I guess, you know, who then are thinking they're ready to take some accountability of it. Just and I'm not knocking it, but I think this is the difference just really between an occultist and the Christians we have nowadays. You just saying that you believing in some dude dying for you doesn't cut it for me. I'm really gonna get into heaven. Just saying that out of my fucking mouth, no, it's a little bit deeper than that. And I think that even that, yeah, I hate to say it, is just a very easy thing to think that you just washed away all your sins. It's a little bit deeper than that, my man. You're you got a lot to deal with up here.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Well and it's like, yeah, even even this whole like Satan's little season thing, it's like it's been a pretty long fucking season, man. Like if you
Nick: I I can't, I can't, 'cause so the some of the people that I even had, I'll keep it real, I had Demon Erases scheduled to come on my show at one point and I looked more into his shit and I was this dude's fucking idiot. And he's one of the people pushing that shit too. I can't, I can't. Satanic panic, fucking two point It's ridiculous with that it's some of the people he's been associated with too. Not to try to start a shit show, but I think he's actually a
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah. Well yeah, no, I th I think if you know, if anything, it's it's this realm we live in. This w like is is like that's what it like it's yeah, we're just it's a dark realm, man. There's duality exists, good and evil. It's like it's it's all look at history, right? Like not that, you know, not that we've been given the necessarily the the the full
Nick: yeah, really yeah. It's the realm that makes the people a problem.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Truth on history, but just in general, like there's name a name a time that didn't have l that wasn't like riddled with darkness. Right? There's
Nick: Yo, I've seen people say that sleep paralysis is demonic now. They're fucking what else is demonic? your memories may be demonic. If you have an out of body experience, you're actually in a demonic realm. It's just like, yo, everything's just like, yo, chill out with this shit already. What the fuck? You know, and that's like coming out of all these people's mouths that I saw like pushing Satan's little season. There's like all these other wild things that now are being attached with demons.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: yeah? One Well there's a part of me that that also thinks it's like it's like, do you guys like want this shit to happen? Like are you like trying to bring are you trying to actually manifest this into reality? 'Cause
Nick: I yo that and I'm gonna keep it real. I've even said it, and even the the people on my show will even say, yo, for real, you motherfuckers think about fucked up sex and kids shit more than any fucking magician probably even thinks about. You're always thinking on some sexual gay shit. We don't even think that much about it. Fuck, man.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, fair enough, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's like everyone call calling the new agers demonic and stuff. And it's like, well, at least at least they're talking about a fucking golden age. Like they want things to get better.
Nick: Yeah, no, it's just and like that's even a thing that I've even it when I was covering some of these old Gnostic sects and just other things that I've come across too, it seems there's a commonality since I think two hundred around their AD, whatever it was with Valentinus. They wanted to s you know, smear campaign that motherfucker, of course. So they said that at one point this guy went out on some ship. He went to go somewhere. He got shipwrecked. And when he came back, he came back a little fucked up and perverted in the mind. Now he's like some pervert. It's like, yo, since 200 AD, you've been using perversion as a fucking excuse to cancel everybody, man. Come up with something new. Why don't you just be realistic and say when this dude goes home, he beats his wife? Like, why do you always have to go to this motherfucker as a pervert? It's always perversion and Satanism. That's all the fuck they've had since they've been around.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah.
Nick: Give us give us something new, my man, please. Come at it a different angle, and I'll give you a lot more credit.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah. I I think it's because people have always accepted that though, right? Like if they say Satanism or pervert it's almost like been a mic drop forever. Like you say that about someone and yeah. Yeah. It's like calling someone a racist or a Nazi now, right? It's just like, well, well, game over then. There you go.
Nick: Exactly, that's what I'm getting at. I was just gonna push it over. If you wanna start getting into social justice warrior type shit, it's the same thing. Certain keywords will all of a sudden cancel somebody and make them bad.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. I do think that's changing though. I maybe it could just be wishful thinking. But
Nick: no, I yeah. I I I'm just gonna keep it real because of the show. th that the left is huge into occultism and magic. And there's a lot of people that I knew that were on the left that were on the left that are even like, you know, this fucking shit's just ridiculous at this point.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: I've noticed that. And I honestly didn't even really r realize it until so like Gordon White passed recently. And then which was sad. I I loved listening to Gordon and he actually like was one of the occultists and and you know practitioners that like kind of made sense of it, like de was able to demystify it a bit.
Nick: Yeah. This is one of the podcasts I used to listen to when I started getting into occultism or listening to the podcast.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: For sure. But when s but then I I saw all these people coming out talking about like how he was a COVID denier and all this all the anti anti-fax and and I was like, Well, aren't ya I thought you people were like against the norm. Like what the f what?
Nick: he got shit on. No No
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, it was kind of an eye opener. And he was right. Well yeah.
Nick: Yo, they yo, it's like how we were talking about like rage against the machine. the old cult community fell harder and faster than everybody to this shit. It was insane how much they crippled.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. To to COVID.
Nick: COVID and fascia, all that fascist shit with everything going on. It was insane. Screaming fascism as they were pushing fascism themselves.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Well yeah, it's it's just
Nick: No, it's just a crazy thing. They don't even realize how much they police themselves in that community their own way. It's insane. It is insane. And if you look at it, eighty percent of these Instagram and TikTok people, they're like, all you're doing, like this is this is my opinion, black magic and right, you know, white magic, if you want to go that way. As a magician, again, you're supposed to be changing yourself. You get all these people that are always whining and wanting to get political, and the only thing they actually do is create spells.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: It's great.
Nick: To change motherfuckers and change the situations in this reality because all they want is complete motherfucking control of everything. They're spoiled brats, you're a bunch of fascists. They're around telling you can't use this sage unless you're this ethnicity. Go fuck yourself, man. You can't celebrate this unless you're this skin color. Fuck you. That is insane. We're supposed to isn't that why we left religion?
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, no shit.
Nick: And you're doing it to your fucking selves. It's a fucked up community, dude. I don't fit in that one and I don't fit in the conspiracy one at all. They're both twisted.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, it really is. honestly, man, yeah, that's kind of where we're w agree. Where we're sitting right now too. It's like, you know, get into this stuff because you just wanna like talk about it and like figure it out. Like that's that's why I thought that was the whole point, right?
Nick: And it's like it to get away from the conversations that are like you know, that we ended up bringing them into anyway. Like, fuck the politic like Jesus Christ, man. Like can't we just like have a conversation and think and wonder?
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Well yeah, that's the that's the whole point of this top of this top is topic is it's like it's it's fucking out there. You're supposed to like this is like the one thing you can kind of talk about where it's like and and also like you're s I thought the whole point was to like kind of admit that you don't fucking know. Like, isn't that why we're talking about it? Is because we don't know the answers. We don't know it's it's beyond us. But then all these fucking people come in and and no, no, it's this way, it's this religion, it's this it
Nick: Yeah. Mm-hmm.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: It's I don't know. I don't know what's happened to the space, but it's
Nick: No, we've even said that on a couple of shows and on somebody else's show. That's like a s you know, my opinion, say clear away from people that have think that they know exactly what works. Cause none of us do. We're just trying to figure the shit out still.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, yeah, for it. Yeah, if someone says they have the all the answers, yeah. They they they don't know what they're talking about.
Nick: Even myself on my show, I I even present it in certain ways that's like here's the science behind it, who knows what the fuck's going on, or this is my idea, what I think theory. I never say this is that. I could be completely fucking wrong. It could be delusional. I mean it's even one of the reasons why, and I'm not knocking all the people that do that I'm really not big into selling much shit. How do I know I'm not selling you lies? And you believe it, and you pay me money for that. I can't I don't know.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, man. Well, you're one of the real ones, at least. That's that's that's all you can ask for. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I definitely get the the feeling whenever we talk that you're the exact same here and as you are the minute the camera goes off and you're hanging out. You know what I mean? I don't think you're any different to hang out with in person. Yeah. We're
Nick: Try. Reggie. no. Yeah. No, no, for sure. Yeah, anybody that's even met me off the show will probably even say it's the same exact dude. There's no difference really.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. And it's probably why we hit it off so well, because I think Andrew and I are the exact same as as well. I'm yeah. Yeah. I'm a bit louder, I think, in person that would be it. But yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm I'm just as bumbly and dumb in person. So yeah, man. Well, I yeah, yeah, no, this was good. I I f I figured that was probably a good good spot to wrap it up. We've we've talked enough shit about enough people.
Nick: Thank you. Yeah.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: We'll s we'll save it for the next time.
Nick: I definitely could have even gone off on the whole Gordon White thing. There was a lot of drama behind that. my God. People started shit talking shit.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: There was, yeah. Yeah. I I sorry, I know you said we were gonna end it, but I just did want to say because I'm not like I didn't follow the magic community. I know like I did follow Rune Soup and kind of went on there because same reason as you said, I found he explained a lot of things to me as someone who didn't understand it. So like I I found it easy to and then he passed, and all I saw was all these people everywhere shitting on him. And I saw like, you know, tweets and stuff put out by you and other people ripping on that. And I'm like, what the fuck, man? Like like I
Nick: Yeah. Yo, it was like I don't think he was even dead twenty four hours and you're shitting on the fucking guy.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: yeah. Yeah. He was a very good human being. I didn't know him, but just from what everyone has said about him, everything he did, he touched a lot of people. Well he just seemed like a kind person and like he's funny and like, you know, like
Nick: And just like the the people that thought differently than him, he thought he was giving people his truth on what he thought was the best. It just didn't match what other people thought, so he deserved to die. That's sick. That's like the same sick motherfuckers that I listen, I don't play politics really, but I think it's sick if you're actually gonna come out and say Charlie Kirk deserved to die. That's the same type of motherfuckers you're dealing with. You know? I I'm gonna be totally honest with you, I was not a fan of him. I actually thought he was fucking annoying.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah. I yeah I agree. Yeah. I agree.
Nick: I didn't think he should be killed. I like just you know, some people kill Biden. Just d don't let him become president anymore. You don't kill someone. It's a child thing to do.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. I Yeah, no, I agree. It's
Nick: What if somebody doesn't like what your brother says, just pops his fucking brains out?
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. A life is a life. Like
Nick: Yeah man, it's just like there's just so many other ways of dealing with something instead of
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Especially though when it comes from the hippoc like it they're so hypocritical about so many other things, right? That's that's the issue. It's the people saying that they were glad that Charlie Kirk died or generally want you to respect their pronouns and you must talk to me this way and you must give me respect, but I'm cool with that guy dying. It just yeah, it doesn't make sense to me. Yeah.
Nick: And then yeah, then like you'll have out one side than the right will think that the same way I do, but then find it easier to go bomb some country you don't live in. You know what I'm saying? It's just like what the fuck? You both have certainly certain certain some sort of death.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Exactly. Exactly. Yeah. Exact there there's someone that's in my life who's very religious, born again Christian, and tries to talk to me about it. Well, I I'll listen to him and we shoot the shit about it. I think he's obviously trying to convert me or whatever and And he went into this big thing about Israel and you know, see it the we're we're gonna win this war and it was I could see the happiness in his eyes about bombs dropping and I and and I and I was like I can't do this anymore with you and he's like, What do you mean? and I got mad. I was like, I can't I don't see how you can say all these things about Christianity and being born again and and and and reveling at children dying. I you know being happy because a whole like guess Gaza got leveled. Doesn't matter. It people dying for the sake of that to me just is is the end of the conversation on either side.
Nick: Yeah. I remember when when I was a kid, like I remember hearing somebody that like I not looked up to, but was, you know, a grown-up. And you know, made some crazy remark like, why don't you just, you know, level Iraq and turn it into a parking lot at Disneyland? You know, and you hear shit like that, and then like, you know, I guess I guess as you get older, it's just like you know how silly it is to actually think like 'cause this is the only way I could wrap my mind around somebody saying that. And I think like I've thought this myself growing up. That I think some people actually think that like every citizen or every person that lives in that country, literally in their mind all day, is like, how do we fuck the United States? That's like a few percent of the extremists. Everybody else is a normal motherfucker going on with their life. And they're getting killed because you think all of them think that way. You're fucking retarded. That's why it's so easy to justify, because you have in your head
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah. Agreed. Yeah.
Nick: That some lady who I guess is feeding her kid at the kitchen table is also calculating in her mind, how can I go blow myself up and move in the United States? Like grill the fuck up.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. No, that's a hundred percent. That's what it comes down to. It's just immaturity. Like Yeah. Or and brainwashing too. It could even be just they're so brainwashed and whatever they yeah, they don't even
Nick: That's no, that's the brainwashing. News and the TV, I think, has made us think that that's every single person in that country equals this thought.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, you'd ha you'd have to be brainwashed.
Nick: Or like if you wanna keep it real with some of the shit that we're famous for, it's really only two or three percent that are the motherfuckers yelling about it.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Mm-hmm.
Nick: It's a minority.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. But
Nick: And then half the shit we're doing ourselves anywhere it's faked staged. Again, like we're supposed to believe a guy with the a lawnmower strapped to his back with a pillowcase got through the fucking iron dome. Like, come on.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's I don't know, man. It's like it doesn't take much these days to to convince people one way or the other. And I I feel like once they've once they've made up their mind, it's even harder to change it, right? Like they don't even
Nick: Yeah, I I even had shit like that and god, I can't remember exactly what it is. It's not it's coming out soon where you get into like the whole thing of like how really easy it is with propaganda to really get people to accept shit they never would have.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: I think they're trying to see how shitty they can make each false flag to see if it'll still run as you know what I mean? Like still that to see how how low the bar can actually go. Because like he said with the you know what I mean, like the the guys who parasailed in.
Nick: No, and there was even studies, studies that I show that I I I I really would like to try to like I could only get like a like some parts of the study. I would like to try to see exactly like how they did the study. But supposedly there's even studies on on people believing fake news. And like somehow I wonder, like, were they actually privy to fake news? And that's where they got their studies from, is watching how the population actually reacted to it. You know what I'm saying? Like, how did you actually get studies on people how easy it was to make people believe fake shit?
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Hmm. Yeah. Because they put out fake shit, noted how many people believed it, and then yeah. Well they must have done it to yeah, yeah. Yeah. I actually I think that's what a lot of this AI stuff is, is just like like let's just like it's a litmus test, right? Let's let's put out a bunch of shit, see where the bar is for people to believe it, and then that that way now we know, okay, we can't go beyond this.
Nick: I mean yeah, but you still think about it's like how did you pull that off unless it was actually probably really dumb? that whole Trump thing is don't fit. The astronauts had three legs. Even they even showed crazy shit with the Trump shooting, how that was like a guy's walking in with the pizza box and it turns to a loose leaf piece of paper in his hand in a matter of five seconds. Guy's eating a piece of chicken and now it's on a fork. Like, and the gunshot actually is so clear downstairs, but yet if you think about it, it's not even near them. It was it was downstairs, right? It like wasn't even on the same floor. But yet it sounded like it was right in the room.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Nick: You know, the chick said shots fired how many times before the fucking thing happened?
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. My favorite part was the guy who sat there eating the whole time. I don't know if you remember that. There was one guy and he was like taking chicken off other people's plates. Yeah. Yeah.
Nick: Yeah, it's the moment the fork. It because it looks like a piece like a chicken tender in his hand. It turns into a fork. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It goes from in his hand and all of a sudden pops out to a end of a fork. And the same movement. You're like, what the fuck? Yeah, everybody's getting up and there's this old dude with like kind of like gray hair, like sitting there, like, fuck it, he's still eating.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah. Yeah, it's a crazy time. Crazy world.
Nick: Yeah. That's magic for you, all that shit. Making people believe shit that's not real. That's another form.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Percent yeah. Yeah. Well, there's no shortage of things to talk about for sure. thank you, man. It's always always good to see you and yeah, we'll we'll definitely do this again for sure. Good
Nick: Yeah, yeah. I'll shut up now though. We can get it we can end it now. Thank you so much for having me on. It was a pleasure. for sure, for sure, for sure. Yeah, maybe next time I could bring on some of the other people and actually like, you know, cover something. Whatever.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Yeah, let's do like a round table thing. That'd be fun.
Nick: Yeah, yeah. We did that once on another show called Divulgence. I'm not saying bring that many people, but I think I brought like six or seven of us. Not saying that many on your show, but it actually went like really well. Like I was so surprised. But normally when we do our big round tables of like us on the show, it normally goes really well anyway. So yeah, it's you'd actually be surprised if I brought like a couple of people on. Probably probably go smooth. We don't all try like step over each other, put that way.
The Eh-Soteric Archives: Cool. Yeah. Yeah, let's yeah, let's hook it up. That'd be good. All right, man. Well, thanks again. And everyone, head over to the occult rejects, subscribe, like, check him out. He's got lots of good stuff coming out. So yeah. Thanks, thanks for coming out, Nick. And from the land of the high seas and the tall trees, I'm Mike. I'm Andrew. Have a good night. Catch you next time.
Nick: Yeah, yeah, it'll be fun for sure. Yeah. Thank you. What?
