ChatGPT Ads Just Opened to Every U.S. Business — and Google Wrote the New AI Discovery Rules
ChatGPT Ads Manager just opened to every U.S. business — no $50,000 minimum, no closed pilot, no waitlist. OpenAI is publicly targeting $2.5B in ad revenue this year and $100B by 2030. Two days earlier, Google published the rules for how AI agents will read, click, and transact on your website. Most creator sites already fail those AI agent rules.
In this episode of the Creator Economy Recon Report, Carrie Loranger breaks down what changed on May 5, 2026, the seven-rule Google checklist your site needs to pass to stay visible to AI agents, and what Meta’s first-ever drop in daily active users tells you about the squeeze on organic reach. Plus four ways creators are making money this week — Amazon’s podcast-as-storefront play, ComfyUI’s $500M raise, the Substack Bestseller flywheel, and the TikTok-vs-YouTube monetization gap — and a practical 15-minute audit you can run on your own site this week.
If you run a newsletter, sell a digital product, or make money as a solo operator, this is the episode that tells you what the AI commerce layer looks like before everyone else figures it out.OpenAI just opened ChatGPT Ads Manager to every U.S. business — no $50,000 minimum, no closed pilot, no waitlist — and OpenAI is publicly targeting $2.5B in ad revenue this year and $100B by 2030.
