This week’s episode features William’s journey with his client, East Sussex Pension Fund. We discuss the process the Fund went through to determine their beliefs on a range of subjects, in particular engagement vs divestment on fossil fuels. This is essential listening for every pension fund trustee, manager, and adviser who is curious about the ‘how to’ process around policy formulation on ESG. We hope you enjoy!
William has worked in institutional asset management for more than 35 years and advised public sector pension funds since 2009. A thought leader within the financial industry, he currently acts as independent advisor to three LGPS funds, and as independent chair of the Lancashire County and LPFA Pension Boards. He has a Masters in Finance from the LBS, and is Director of Linchpin Advisory Limited, providing advisory services on investment and governance.
William has three millennial and one Generation Z children and lives with his wife in Kent. Outside work he plays bridge competitively and spends most of his spare time looking after and occasionally sailing a 53 year old wooden boat on the River Medway.
