🎙️ Behind Enemy Lines: 26/27 Season, Episode 2 – Yeovil Town (A)
Welcome to the latest edition of Behind Enemy Lines! Our opposition preview chats drop on matchday mornings before every weekend and midweek fixture to get you prepped for kick-off.
Ahead of our very first away day of the campaign – a daunting 330-mile trek down the M6 and M5 to Huish Park - Lee is joined by Ben from Gloverscast (@gloverscast) to get the inside track on Yeovil Town.
Following a chaotic season that saw four different managers in the dugout, the Glovers have hit the reset button under Billy Rowley, undertaking a massive squad overhaul and building a fresh long-term vision in Somerset.
In this episode, we discuss:
- 🔀 The Great Squad Overhaul: Clearing the decks with 15+ players in and out, handing out rare three-year deals, and finding calm after a rollercoaster few years.
- ⚽️ Tactics & Key Men: Billy Rowley’s possession-first philosophy, midfield linchpin Zain Westbrooke pulling the strings, and gems stepping up from Walton & Hersham (Mason Obeng and young keeper Jos Barker).
- 🟢 The Archie Davies Reunion: How the former Blue has hit the ground running down the right flank, his 80-yard driving runs, and what happens when he comes up against his old teammates.
- 🍏 Somerset Identity & The Bristol Debate: The pros and cons of the squad training in Bristol versus staying connected with the local Yeovil community (and bumping into star strikers in Asda!).
- 🏟️ Huish Park Away Day: The Cider Space bar behind the away end, pre-booking parking apps, taxi warnings from distant train stations and packing out the away terrace.
- 🔮 Match Prediction: Ben puts his neck on the line with a score prediction for Saturday afternoon.
Thanks again to Ben for joining us and keep an eye out for future Behind Enemy Lines episodes across the season!
