A local TV stand up comedy show from 1988 doesn’t sound like it should feel fresh, but the moment the crowd comes up you can hear why we loved making Laughs at Laughs Unlimited in Sacramento. I’m Scott Edwards, and I’m bringing one of those original TV tapings over to the podcast as pure audio so you can experience the pacing, the room energy, and the working-comic craft that made comedy clubs the real training ground.
We start with club favorite Frank Prinzi firing off tight, offbeat jokes that twist everyday life into something surreal, from food fears to childhood memories and the weird logic of getting older. Then Phil Bauman changes the texture with comedy rap and music-driven bits, bouncing from concert jokes to pop culture riffs in a style you don’t hear on many stand up comedy podcasts today.
Mid-show, I pause to set up a vintage TV sketch drop-in: our fake-celebrity character Tony King, played by my partner Bob Stobner with voiceover by Carlos Alazraqui (yes, that Carlos from Reno 911 and a ton of iconic voice work). After that, headliner Tim Bedore closes the night with sharp late-1980s political and televangelist satire, a reminder that the headlines have always been absurd when you look at them the right way.
If you love classic stand up, comedy club history, and rare recordings from the Laughs TV series, this one’s a treat. Subscribe, share it with a friend who misses real club comedy, and leave a review. What’s the bit that made you laugh out loud?

00:00:56.560 --> 00:01:04.640
This is another episode of Stand Up Comedy, your host and MC, celebrating forty plus years on the fringe of show business.
00:01:04.879 --> 00:01:10.000
Stories, interviews, and comedy sets from the famous and not so famous.
00:01:10.319 --> 00:01:13.759
Here's your host and MC, Scott Edwards.
00:01:14.159 --> 00:01:16.799
Hi, and welcome to this week's show.
00:01:17.120 --> 00:01:19.439
We hope you've been enjoying the podcast.
00:01:19.680 --> 00:01:30.799
Right now I'm going back to something I did a little over a month ago, and that is taking one of the TV shows I produced and bringing it straight over to the podcast in audio format.
00:01:31.039 --> 00:01:42.560
Now it's been mentioned a couple times that I had a short TV series on uh local network television in 1991-92 called Almost Live at Laughs Unlimited.
00:01:42.879 --> 00:01:52.479
And then in the late 80s, 88-89, I had a full 26 show series again on a local affiliate, and it was called Laughs.
00:01:53.039 --> 00:01:57.520
And it was a live taping of the shows and then presented on television.
00:01:57.759 --> 00:02:03.599
This was before the evening at the improv and some of the other shows that uh came a bit later.
00:02:04.000 --> 00:02:10.080
It was kind of breaking new ground, but since it was only local, only local people saw it, so it didn't really take off.
00:02:10.400 --> 00:02:16.800
But we sure had a lot of fun producing it, and the entertainers seemed to enjoy uh doing the television productions.
00:02:17.520 --> 00:02:20.159
So uh let me tell you about this week's show.
00:02:20.319 --> 00:02:27.759
Uh it was uh originally aired in 1988, it was part of the Laughs TV series, and this is a terrific one.
00:02:27.919 --> 00:02:37.919
It features headliner uh Tim Bador closing the show, and there's a video presentation put together by my partner Bob Stobner and Carlos Alezranki.
00:02:38.080 --> 00:02:52.240
You may know that name, he's the voice on several television cartoon characters and was also our uh one of the stars of Reno 911, where he does the voiceover, and then the character Tony King uh is played by my partner Bob Stobner.
00:02:52.400 --> 00:02:53.919
I'll tell you a little bit more about that.
00:02:54.159 --> 00:03:00.080
We also have comedy and rap entertainment of Phil Bauman, something a little different.
00:03:00.240 --> 00:03:09.520
And opening up the show, one of our favorite regulars at the club, this guy came in all the time, started off as a featured act, ended up headlining our shows.
00:03:09.680 --> 00:03:10.960
I know you'll enjoy him.
00:03:11.039 --> 00:03:13.599
Let's hear it for Frank Prinzey.
00:03:21.840 --> 00:03:24.400
And now it's time for laugh.
00:03:30.159 --> 00:03:33.520
And now here's your host, Scott Edward.
00:03:36.879 --> 00:03:39.760
Another wonderful crowd here at Lamps Unlimited.
00:03:40.240 --> 00:03:42.240
Welcome to Lamps, ladies and gentlemen.
00:03:42.319 --> 00:03:43.840
We have a great show coming up for you.
00:03:44.000 --> 00:03:45.840
Right now, let's get right in with the comedy.
00:03:46.000 --> 00:03:47.840
Our first act tonight is a good friend of ours.
00:03:47.920 --> 00:03:49.360
In fact, we know him as Uncle Frankie.
00:03:49.680 --> 00:03:51.599
Goes way back to the beginnings of Lamps Unlimited.
00:03:51.680 --> 00:03:52.719
He's out of San Francisco.
00:03:52.879 --> 00:03:53.680
I think you'll enjoy him.
00:03:53.760 --> 00:03:54.719
Let's have a nice round of applause.
00:03:54.879 --> 00:03:56.960
Our first act tonight, Frank Frenzy, right here.
00:03:57.120 --> 00:03:58.080
Frank Prinzi.
00:04:00.960 --> 00:04:01.920
Thank you.
00:04:06.400 --> 00:04:08.319
Very nice to see you all.
00:04:08.800 --> 00:04:11.280
I'm feeling kind of strange myself.
00:04:12.400 --> 00:04:15.200
The other night I had an out-of-body experience.
00:04:15.520 --> 00:04:19.360
It's just true, I was lying in my bed and all of a sudden I just started floating up.
00:04:19.680 --> 00:04:20.000
Up.
00:04:20.480 --> 00:04:24.079
It was real scary though, because I have one of those ceiling fans in my bedroom.
00:04:27.039 --> 00:04:30.800
I can't sleep anymore, that's my biggest problem right now, and I blame my diet.
00:04:31.039 --> 00:04:33.839
I've been buying a lot of those deep-fried pork skins.
00:04:34.879 --> 00:04:38.560
I'm not eating them though, I'm just trying to reassemble a pig in my apartment.
00:04:42.399 --> 00:04:44.719
I had an Easter egg hunt in my apartment.
00:04:44.879 --> 00:04:47.360
It's really kind of tricky because I live alone.
00:04:48.719 --> 00:04:52.879
I just hid the eggs all over and then bang my head on the wall until I forgot where I hid them.
00:04:54.399 --> 00:04:58.159
It was weird because last year I banged my head so hard I forgot I hid the eggs.
00:05:01.360 --> 00:05:03.199
I've been saving my money though.
00:05:03.360 --> 00:05:05.599
I got big dreams, big plans.
00:05:05.839 --> 00:05:06.399
I don't know.
00:05:06.480 --> 00:05:08.159
I figured out what I'm gonna do when I win the lottery.
00:05:08.240 --> 00:05:09.039
I got it all planned.
00:05:09.120 --> 00:05:15.839
Since I have to wear these glasses when I drive and I hate wearing them, I think if I win that lotto thing, I'm gonna get my windshield done in my prescription.
00:05:22.639 --> 00:05:24.799
You know, when you get older, have bifocals put in.
00:05:29.120 --> 00:05:32.959
And after that, I'm gonna open up a chain of all-you-can-eat restaurants that deliver.
00:05:36.639 --> 00:05:38.639
Maybe Gray just call him up late at night.
00:05:38.719 --> 00:05:40.560
Uh, yeah, we'd like some more.
00:05:42.879 --> 00:05:45.279
Big truckload of beef pulls up, it'd be great.
00:05:46.719 --> 00:05:49.599
My mom used to scare me about food, and that wasn't fair.
00:05:49.839 --> 00:05:53.359
My mom used to tell me that mayonnaise could kill you on a hot day.
00:05:54.560 --> 00:05:59.120
You know, she never explained to me how or why or when this mayonnaise was gonna kill me.
00:05:59.519 --> 00:06:03.679
So now picture me, I'm a little kid sitting home alone on a hot summer day.
00:06:08.799 --> 00:06:11.120
Just staring at the refrigerator door.
00:06:12.479 --> 00:06:15.439
Thinking it's gonna spring open big jar of mayonnaise on my juggler van.
00:06:18.879 --> 00:06:22.239
In fact, to this day, I'm afraid to leave the knife in the jar and turn my back.
00:06:22.319 --> 00:06:29.919
It's like I got back in my mother's dead right from birth.
00:06:30.079 --> 00:06:32.479
I had a very large head when I was a kid.
00:06:36.000 --> 00:06:38.719
In fact, this is the same size head I was born with.
00:06:41.279 --> 00:06:43.679
I used to tip over a lot when I was little.
00:06:44.799 --> 00:06:45.679
And it got worse.
00:06:45.839 --> 00:06:49.359
My parents would take me down, you know where those street artist guys draw your caricature?
00:06:49.599 --> 00:06:51.679
You know, for most kids, that's really fun.
00:06:51.839 --> 00:06:57.599
I remember this artist guy sat me down, he drew this real big head, riding this little bicycle.
00:06:58.159 --> 00:07:00.479
Underneath he wrote actual size.
00:07:04.079 --> 00:07:07.120
I was the baby of the family, which was very depressing.
00:07:07.279 --> 00:07:09.279
Because I was spoiled, I'll admit that.
00:07:09.439 --> 00:07:12.879
I mean, my sisters, they were older than me, strictly disciplined, and I could do what I wanted.
00:07:13.039 --> 00:07:18.959
I was out with my sister one day, we were just horsing around, you know, and she broke her leg, and my parents had her destroyed.
00:07:22.879 --> 00:07:24.799
Then in junior high, it got very scary.
00:07:24.879 --> 00:07:25.599
That was a weird time.
00:07:25.679 --> 00:07:27.839
They used to make us guys take our swimming class naked.
00:07:28.879 --> 00:07:29.599
Can you imagine that?
00:07:29.919 --> 00:07:31.199
Some guys that are like men already.
00:07:31.359 --> 00:07:34.959
You know, I got the hair on their chest walking around the pool, flaunting their manhood.
00:07:35.199 --> 00:07:39.919
And there's some guys that are like little boys still, with very large heads.
00:07:47.279 --> 00:07:49.679
We used to pick on the teachers in junior high.
00:07:49.759 --> 00:07:50.399
That was fun.
00:07:50.560 --> 00:07:55.039
I had a teacher once, the guy was out for like half a semester because he had to have one of those pacemakers put in.
00:07:55.279 --> 00:07:59.759
You know, the day he finally came in to teach class, we all brought our garage door openers.
00:08:05.919 --> 00:08:08.560
Now I'm older, I get my fun in other ways.
00:08:08.799 --> 00:08:10.639
I've been flossing a lot.
00:08:11.439 --> 00:08:12.639
Do you guys floss?
00:08:13.759 --> 00:08:15.599
Waxed or unwaxed.
00:08:17.120 --> 00:08:20.639
My dentist recommends the unwaxed because it inflicts more pain.
00:08:22.159 --> 00:08:23.759
I use fishing line.
00:08:24.719 --> 00:08:27.679
You sleep the fish right on and just yank it right through there.
00:08:28.000 --> 00:08:30.000
In high school, I was kind of a nerdy guy.
00:08:30.159 --> 00:08:33.200
I used to wear a little floss dispenser right on my belt.
00:08:34.080 --> 00:08:36.560
It's known around campus as floss, man.
00:08:36.720 --> 00:08:37.919
Stay away from me, tough guy.
00:08:38.000 --> 00:08:39.519
I'll make your gums bleed.
00:08:41.600 --> 00:08:45.919
I was ahead of my time, though I tried to organize this floss across America thing.
00:08:46.960 --> 00:08:50.159
Just one big huge piece of floss going all the way across the country.
00:08:50.320 --> 00:08:52.799
Everyone comes up and just hooks their teeth on there.
00:08:53.919 --> 00:08:56.320
And goes back and forth.
00:08:57.440 --> 00:09:00.240
Whatever food flicks off, we give to the hungry people.
00:09:00.879 --> 00:09:01.919
You guys have been real nice.
00:09:02.000 --> 00:09:03.840
Thank you for listening to me talking.
00:09:04.159 --> 00:09:05.120
Thank you.
00:09:11.360 --> 00:09:13.840
Last round of applause, Frank Friendsy.
00:09:15.360 --> 00:09:18.159
We'll be right back with more Lamps and Tim Madore.
00:09:23.679 --> 00:09:25.759
Thanks for joining us back at Laps.
00:09:25.840 --> 00:09:27.600
We hope you're enjoying the show tonight.
00:09:27.759 --> 00:09:29.759
We have another uh great entertainer for you tonight.
00:09:29.840 --> 00:09:31.679
He's been working all over Northern California.
00:09:31.840 --> 00:09:34.879
It is his first time here to Laps Unlimited, but I think you folks will enjoy him.
00:09:34.959 --> 00:09:36.159
Let's have a nice round of applause.
00:09:36.240 --> 00:09:37.120
Phil Bowman right here.
00:09:37.199 --> 00:09:38.079
Phil Bowman.
00:09:44.000 --> 00:09:48.959
Well, I'm the human beak box for blocks and blocks, and everybody rocks when I rock the box.
00:09:53.759 --> 00:09:55.919
Well, my name is Phil, and I dress to kill.
00:09:56.000 --> 00:09:59.279
All you ladies in the house just can't sit still because I'm a sex machine.
00:09:59.360 --> 00:10:00.319
I'm an M16.
00:10:00.399 --> 00:10:02.559
I'm a 12-gauge lover, if you know what I mean.
00:10:02.639 --> 00:10:03.679
I'm the hippist cat.
00:10:03.759 --> 00:10:04.799
I'm where the party's at.
00:10:04.879 --> 00:10:06.559
I'm always chillin', never illin', baby.
00:10:06.639 --> 00:10:07.199
It's like that.
00:10:07.360 --> 00:10:08.559
Don't touch that dial.
00:10:08.639 --> 00:10:11.840
I'd walk a mile to bust you out with my devastating style.
00:10:11.919 --> 00:10:13.279
There's a f on the roof.
00:10:13.439 --> 00:10:14.240
Let it burn.
00:10:14.319 --> 00:10:16.559
I'm like a doorknob, everybody gets a turn.
00:10:25.759 --> 00:10:26.319
All right.
00:10:27.360 --> 00:10:28.799
Alright, well, thank you.
00:10:29.039 --> 00:10:29.519
Thank you.
00:10:29.679 --> 00:10:30.879
Well, music is my life.
00:10:31.039 --> 00:10:32.399
Music is my life, it's true.
00:10:32.480 --> 00:10:34.720
I went to go see Tina Turner in concert.
00:10:34.799 --> 00:10:38.879
And okay, I love Tina Turner, but she has a hairdo that's out to here.
00:10:39.039 --> 00:10:39.279
Right?
00:10:39.360 --> 00:10:40.159
All that hair.
00:10:40.319 --> 00:10:41.360
I went to the concert.
00:10:41.519 --> 00:10:44.959
I sat in the second row and I left the concert going.
00:10:49.679 --> 00:10:52.240
See, because she has a hairdo that's okay.
00:10:52.399 --> 00:10:55.519
Uh I went to go see Bob Dylan in concert.
00:10:55.600 --> 00:10:59.519
And okay, I like Bob Dylan, but let's face it, Bob Dylan is a terrible singer.
00:10:59.679 --> 00:11:05.199
It's like uh once upon a time you dressed so fine, you threw the bumps of dime in your pran.
00:11:08.879 --> 00:11:10.559
Bob, it doesn't feel too good.
00:11:10.720 --> 00:11:11.039
Okay.
00:11:12.159 --> 00:11:21.039
I bought the new Bob Dylan album, and if you play the new Bob Dylan album backwards, you can actually hear the devil saying, Bob, shut up.
00:11:24.159 --> 00:11:26.240
Oh, but I love music.
00:11:26.399 --> 00:11:27.039
I love music.
00:11:27.199 --> 00:11:29.840
People used to tell me that I look like Julian Lennon.
00:11:30.079 --> 00:11:31.360
I used to say, Thanks.
00:11:31.519 --> 00:11:32.559
You look like Yoko.
00:11:35.519 --> 00:11:36.720
Oh, what else?
00:11:36.959 --> 00:11:38.799
My next door neighbor bought a dog.
00:11:38.959 --> 00:11:41.199
Well, it's not really a dog, it's a poodle.
00:11:41.360 --> 00:11:42.720
I don't like poodles.
00:11:42.879 --> 00:11:47.679
To me, a poodle is just a pinata of the living dead.
00:11:49.679 --> 00:11:52.720
You just want to bust it open, see what some time.
00:11:53.039 --> 00:11:54.079
But no, I love animals.
00:11:54.240 --> 00:11:54.559
I do.
00:11:54.639 --> 00:11:55.199
I love animals.
00:11:55.360 --> 00:11:59.039
When I was a little kid, I wanted to grow up and be a uh not a zoologist.
00:11:59.120 --> 00:12:00.399
What do you call they work with animals?
00:12:00.559 --> 00:12:01.279
What do you call them?
00:12:01.679 --> 00:12:03.039
No, not a veterinarian.
00:12:03.120 --> 00:12:05.519
I wanted to work with animals, I wanted to be a butcher.
00:12:07.279 --> 00:12:12.159
Um else, what else?
00:12:12.399 --> 00:12:14.399
Well, my girlfriend broke up with me.
00:12:14.639 --> 00:12:15.600
Yeah, I know.
00:12:15.759 --> 00:12:16.079
Thank you.
00:12:16.159 --> 00:12:17.199
My girlfriend broke up with me.
00:12:17.279 --> 00:12:23.600
And it's funny, she broke up with me the day after I had her name tattooed on my sister.
00:12:26.000 --> 00:12:29.279
But she broke up with me, she broke my heart, and it's funny, she's from Berkeley.
00:12:29.360 --> 00:12:31.840
And everyone that's from Berkeley is into health food, right?
00:12:31.919 --> 00:12:33.679
My girlfriend made me dinner one time.
00:12:33.840 --> 00:12:37.919
She made vegetarian meatloaf with tofu, okay?
00:12:38.159 --> 00:12:43.600
And now, I don't want to say what it tasted like, but I rubbed her nose in it so she wouldn't do it again.
00:12:46.480 --> 00:12:48.079
Oh, what else?
00:12:48.240 --> 00:12:49.439
You know, I don't know.
00:12:49.519 --> 00:12:54.480
I think I think I need to go try and find myself a prostitute.
00:12:54.639 --> 00:13:00.799
But before I go, before I go, I want to share something with you, because I think my problem is there's not enough love songs anymore.
00:13:00.879 --> 00:13:01.120
Right?
00:13:01.199 --> 00:13:03.120
You turn on the radio and it's all rap music.
00:13:03.199 --> 00:13:04.480
So I wrote another rap.
00:13:04.639 --> 00:13:07.360
I wrote a love rap, and it goes like this.
00:13:12.559 --> 00:13:14.879
Yo, I am the one all the ladies adore.
00:13:14.959 --> 00:13:16.879
I love them to death and they still want more.
00:13:17.039 --> 00:13:19.039
They cover all my body with kisses galore.
00:13:19.120 --> 00:13:21.199
I got a rocket in my pocket and it's ready to roar.
00:13:21.360 --> 00:13:23.679
Now I must confess my love's the best.
00:13:23.840 --> 00:13:27.919
I look into a mirror and the mirror says, Yes, I am hot like a microwave.
00:13:28.079 --> 00:13:28.399
Oven.
00:13:28.639 --> 00:13:30.399
Would you like to try some new wave loving?
00:13:30.480 --> 00:13:32.720
Blah blah blah blah blah blah belicious.
00:13:32.799 --> 00:13:33.600
Come and taste my love.
00:13:33.679 --> 00:13:34.000
Uh-huh.
00:13:34.079 --> 00:13:34.799
It's so delicious.
00:13:34.879 --> 00:13:35.759
Ooh, hey gang.
00:13:36.000 --> 00:13:36.959
Pookety bang.
00:13:37.039 --> 00:13:39.120
Can you hang with my love thing?
00:13:39.199 --> 00:13:40.319
My baby, she loves me.
00:13:40.480 --> 00:13:41.519
She always gives me kisses.
00:13:41.600 --> 00:13:43.679
I said, yo, baby, do you know what this is?
00:13:43.759 --> 00:13:44.240
A brr.
00:13:47.919 --> 00:13:49.039
I'm Phil Bauman.
00:13:49.120 --> 00:13:49.679
Thank you very much.
00:13:49.759 --> 00:13:50.559
Good night.
00:13:54.399 --> 00:13:57.279
Phil Bauman, ladies and gentlemen, Phil Bauman.
00:13:58.079 --> 00:14:03.120
That was Phil Bauman doing a little comedy and a little rap for you, a little comedy rap.
00:14:03.199 --> 00:14:04.959
Hey, you don't see that very often.
00:14:05.120 --> 00:14:07.199
And uh we opened the show with Frank Prinzi.
00:14:07.360 --> 00:14:26.079
Hey, I'm interrupting this uh exact uh audio version of Laughs, the TV show from 1988, just to explain that this next piece was a video drop-in and it was a fake promo for uh Tony King, who was this character we created.
00:14:26.399 --> 00:14:31.840
And in this particular piece, I know you won't be able to see it, but it still I think carries some uh humor.
00:14:32.399 --> 00:14:41.679
Uh Bob Stobner playing the part of Tony King is explaining about his luxurious mansion, and he pulls up in a limousine in front of this beautiful mansion.
00:14:42.079 --> 00:14:46.399
And as he goes in the door, the joke is it's a small motel room.
00:14:46.720 --> 00:14:49.679
And uh that was the visual aspect of the joke.
00:14:50.000 --> 00:14:56.399
But the voiceover is done by Carlos Alazraki, who is uh a very famous, good uh entertainer and good actor.
00:14:56.720 --> 00:15:02.720
You've seen him, as I mentioned, on uh Radio 911 and does a lot of uh voice characterizations for television.
00:15:03.199 --> 00:15:09.919
So sit back and enjoy this little video interruption, and then we get back into the TV show with our headliner, Tim Bador.
00:15:10.240 --> 00:15:12.319
We'll talk about more about him after a set.
00:15:12.480 --> 00:15:14.240
Hope you're enjoying the podcast.
00:15:14.480 --> 00:15:16.879
Here comes our little TV excerpt.
00:15:17.039 --> 00:15:18.559
Well, hope you're enjoying the show right now.
00:15:18.639 --> 00:15:23.039
We're going back out in old Sacramento and find Tony King with the home video of the week.
00:15:23.199 --> 00:15:24.480
Take it away, Tony.
00:15:31.679 --> 00:15:34.639
Well, anyway, this week on home videos, we got something special for you.
00:15:34.799 --> 00:15:38.079
Last week, the people over at Celebrity Snoopers, you know the TV show?
00:15:38.240 --> 00:15:42.559
Well, they came over to the house and they did a special bit on me, and I'm gonna show it to you right now.
00:15:42.639 --> 00:15:43.519
So here it goes.
00:15:43.600 --> 00:15:44.079
Ha ha ha!
00:15:46.559 --> 00:15:48.799
Hello and welcome to Celebrity Snoopers.
00:15:48.879 --> 00:15:54.399
Today's Celebrity Snoopers finds us snooping in on a man who's been called the world's greatest entertainer.
00:15:56.000 --> 00:15:56.319
Mr.
00:15:56.480 --> 00:15:57.840
Tony King.
00:15:58.879 --> 00:15:59.199
Mr.
00:15:59.360 --> 00:16:06.639
King, of course, is the world's top singer, dancer, actor, and anime distributor, and has a major following of huge proportions.
00:16:06.799 --> 00:16:08.639
His fans are everywhere.
00:16:10.000 --> 00:16:13.199
But in the quiet, peaceful surroundings of the Hollywood Hills, Mr.
00:16:13.279 --> 00:16:18.639
King enjoys a rich, elegant lifestyle in this beautiful 24-bedroom classic style mansion.
00:16:18.799 --> 00:16:22.879
A wonderful retreat, secluded away from his millions of adoring fans.
00:16:23.439 --> 00:16:27.199
Let's see if we can get a word in a wonderful man, a Mr.
00:16:27.279 --> 00:16:27.600
King.
00:16:28.000 --> 00:16:28.159
Mr.
00:16:28.240 --> 00:16:28.399
King!
00:16:28.879 --> 00:16:29.199
Hi there.
00:16:29.279 --> 00:16:32.879
This is Tony King, the world's greatest entertainer, and I'm on Celebrity Snoopers.
00:16:33.039 --> 00:16:34.159
I'm just so happy to be here.
00:16:34.319 --> 00:16:40.559
But listen, folks, I'm gonna show you my brand new 24-bedroom Beverly Hills mansion in just a second, but let me take care of a little business here, okay?
00:16:40.720 --> 00:16:43.840
Uh, here, that's a beautiful one-dollar bill for you right there.
00:16:43.919 --> 00:16:46.720
You just go you just don't see money like that in Beverly Hills anymore.
00:16:46.879 --> 00:16:50.480
Okay, uh, now you go ahead, get the car back to the owner before he finds out about it, alright?
00:16:50.559 --> 00:16:54.639
You just go ahead and take off and and you guys follow me because I'm gonna show you the house here in just a second.
00:16:54.799 --> 00:16:57.039
Uh I isn't it beautiful if you like it.
00:16:57.120 --> 00:16:58.000
It's my own place.
00:16:58.240 --> 00:17:00.559
I own everything in this place, including this.
00:17:00.639 --> 00:17:02.000
I own, I'm very proud of this.
00:17:02.159 --> 00:17:03.039
This I really love.
00:17:03.199 --> 00:17:04.319
Now follow me into the house.
00:17:04.400 --> 00:17:05.200
I've got to show you everything.
00:17:05.360 --> 00:17:06.160
Follow me, come on.
00:17:06.640 --> 00:17:08.240
Okay, we're gonna go in the house here in just a second.
00:17:08.319 --> 00:17:08.799
I want to show you some.
00:17:08.880 --> 00:17:09.920
This is I'm real proud of these.
00:17:10.079 --> 00:17:11.440
These are my guard deer.
00:17:11.600 --> 00:17:12.400
They're real killers.
00:17:12.559 --> 00:17:13.279
Believe me, believe me.
00:17:13.360 --> 00:17:14.480
Don't even try getting in this place.
00:17:14.640 --> 00:17:15.279
Oh, this is it.
00:17:15.360 --> 00:17:16.000
What do you think?
00:17:16.079 --> 00:17:17.360
Isn't it lovely?
00:17:17.680 --> 00:17:18.240
Okay, this way.
00:17:18.319 --> 00:17:19.039
Follow me, folks.
00:17:19.200 --> 00:17:20.480
Okay, let me get my cheese here.
00:17:20.640 --> 00:17:21.680
Alright, we'll go in.
00:17:22.160 --> 00:17:23.440
Okay, let me get my key here.
00:17:23.840 --> 00:17:24.400
Here we go.
00:17:24.880 --> 00:17:26.000
We're in the house.
00:17:26.160 --> 00:17:26.559
Come on in.
00:17:27.120 --> 00:17:28.559
I gotta get that thing moved.
00:17:28.720 --> 00:17:30.000
Uh, come on inside, folks.
00:17:30.160 --> 00:17:33.039
Welcome to my fabulous 24-bedroom Beverly Hills mansion.
00:17:33.120 --> 00:17:35.759
I know some of you have never been in a Beverly Hills mansion before, but don't worry about it.
00:17:35.840 --> 00:17:37.120
Make yourself at home, feel comfortable.
00:17:37.279 --> 00:17:41.759
I know some of you saying you're saying, hey, Tony, it sure looks a lot bigger on the outside than it does on the inside.
00:17:41.920 --> 00:17:43.920
I know that's true, it's just the way they designed them.
00:17:44.079 --> 00:17:46.079
Um come on over here and we'll show you some of the big things.
00:17:46.240 --> 00:17:48.640
Now remember, don't touch anything because it's all very valuable stuff.
00:17:48.720 --> 00:17:49.200
Let me show you.
00:17:49.360 --> 00:17:50.079
We have a lamp here.
00:17:50.240 --> 00:17:51.600
I got in Folsom, California, to fly.
00:17:51.840 --> 00:17:55.440
And Ferrillane superstar Tony King and his fabulous Hollywood Hills home.
00:17:55.759 --> 00:18:02.160
Be sure to join us next time on Celebrity Snoopers when we'll visit a Beverly Hills Gymnasium to watch Jane Fonda sweat.
00:18:02.320 --> 00:18:03.040
I bought that thing.
00:18:03.440 --> 00:18:04.320
Put that right back down here.
00:18:04.800 --> 00:18:05.519
Well, that's it, folks.
00:18:05.600 --> 00:18:06.320
How do you like my place?
00:18:06.400 --> 00:18:07.120
Isn't that great?
00:18:07.200 --> 00:18:10.080
Okay, well, folks, we got something extra special for you right now.
00:18:10.240 --> 00:18:11.040
A commercial.
00:18:11.120 --> 00:18:12.800
We want you to stick around for more laughs.
00:18:12.960 --> 00:18:14.720
Scott will be right back after this.
00:18:15.040 --> 00:18:15.680
Bye!
00:18:16.720 --> 00:18:19.840
We'll be right back with more laughs right after this.
00:18:20.080 --> 00:18:21.360
Important message.
00:18:24.080 --> 00:18:27.280
Ladies and gentlemen, our headliner tonight, a very funny gentleman.
00:18:27.360 --> 00:18:29.120
He's a good friend of ours who goes way back in fact.
00:18:29.200 --> 00:18:31.840
He got a start right here in Sacramento, KZAP Radio.
00:18:31.920 --> 00:18:36.960
You might have seen him early on with Tony King as his uh home video of the week, The Big Big Cow.
00:18:37.040 --> 00:18:38.720
This is the man that produced that video.
00:18:38.880 --> 00:18:39.840
He's very, very funny.
00:18:39.920 --> 00:18:40.640
I think he'll enjoy him.
00:18:40.720 --> 00:18:41.759
Having a nice round of applause.
00:18:41.920 --> 00:18:43.040
A good friend of ours, Mr.
00:18:43.120 --> 00:18:43.759
Tim Bador.
00:18:44.080 --> 00:18:45.040
Right here, Tim Bador.
00:18:48.480 --> 00:18:49.280
Thank you.
00:18:49.759 --> 00:18:51.120
Thank you very much.
00:18:52.240 --> 00:18:53.200
Thank you.
00:18:54.000 --> 00:18:57.680
It's nice to be back in Sacramento working here at Lasson Limited.
00:18:57.840 --> 00:19:02.880
I know enough about Sacramento to know there is somebody here from Orangevale tonight.
00:19:04.080 --> 00:19:07.360
I knew you were here because I saw your car.
00:19:09.280 --> 00:19:10.640
Pinto with a spoiler.
00:19:10.720 --> 00:19:12.000
I saw it out there.
00:19:15.680 --> 00:19:21.759
Had the Orangevale mentality bumper sticker on it, said I may be going slow, but at least I'm ahead of you.
00:19:23.040 --> 00:19:25.519
Was on the front bumper of the car, so I think you can sing.
00:19:30.960 --> 00:19:32.240
Well, this is a nice crowd.
00:19:32.320 --> 00:19:34.560
These are the hip the happening young people of Sacramento.
00:19:34.640 --> 00:19:37.040
And I want to see if you agree with a fashion point of mine.
00:19:37.280 --> 00:19:42.480
How many people think Ted Coppel should part his hair somewhere near the top of his head?
00:19:42.640 --> 00:19:43.840
You agree with me on this.
00:19:48.320 --> 00:19:49.360
Here's my thinking.
00:19:56.960 --> 00:19:57.600
Move that up there.
00:19:57.680 --> 00:19:58.880
Come on, let's go.
00:20:00.320 --> 00:20:02.960
He's got a full head of hair, he parts it right here.
00:20:03.040 --> 00:20:04.640
I don't understand that at all.
00:20:04.960 --> 00:20:08.560
Let's talk about some of the odd, wacky things going on in our country, 1987.
00:20:08.640 --> 00:20:11.680
The Gary Hart deal comes right to mind off the bat.
00:20:11.840 --> 00:20:16.000
How many people think it was such a bad thing that he did if he had that affair?
00:20:16.080 --> 00:20:17.120
Do you think it was a check?
00:20:17.519 --> 00:20:17.840
See?
00:20:19.600 --> 00:20:26.160
I'm not saying, I'm not saying adultery is a thing, but my God, he's a 51-year-old guy.
00:20:26.240 --> 00:20:27.920
He got a 29-year-old blonde in bed.
00:20:28.000 --> 00:20:29.120
I think he should get some credit.
00:20:29.200 --> 00:20:29.920
I think I really.
00:20:30.560 --> 00:20:30.880
See.
00:20:33.840 --> 00:20:34.480
Yes.
00:20:36.640 --> 00:20:39.360
You want a president with a sex life.
00:20:39.519 --> 00:20:40.480
You really do.
00:20:41.600 --> 00:20:43.200
You want a president, you know.
00:20:43.360 --> 00:20:44.800
He's with a 29-year-old girl.
00:20:44.880 --> 00:20:47.680
He rolls over and goes, yeah, let's call Gorbachev.
00:20:47.840 --> 00:20:48.560
Let's get him on the phone.
00:20:48.640 --> 00:20:49.280
Come on.
00:20:50.160 --> 00:20:51.440
That's what you want.
00:20:54.160 --> 00:20:58.240
And besides that, adultery has been a time-honored thing with the Democrats.
00:20:58.320 --> 00:20:58.880
Now look at it.
00:20:59.280 --> 00:21:00.880
Jefferson had affairs.
00:21:01.040 --> 00:21:05.600
One of our great presidents, FDR, had a long-term affair, four-term president.
00:21:05.759 --> 00:21:06.240
John F.
00:21:06.320 --> 00:21:08.240
Kennedy had affairs.
00:21:08.400 --> 00:21:10.160
He had an affair with Marilyn Monroe.
00:21:10.240 --> 00:21:15.600
And to go to show what moral character he had when he had Marilyn Monroe, he shared with his brother.
00:21:15.840 --> 00:21:16.160
See?
00:21:19.120 --> 00:21:24.160
Jimmy Carter didn't have affairs, but he had lust in his heart, and of course, hearst in his pants and everywhere.
00:21:24.400 --> 00:21:24.720
So.
00:21:26.480 --> 00:21:27.680
But look at the Republicans.
00:21:27.759 --> 00:21:28.800
Look at the other side of the coin.
00:21:28.880 --> 00:21:32.480
Republicans, Richard Nixon, didn't even sleep with his own wife.
00:21:32.560 --> 00:21:33.840
He didn't even sleep in the same room.
00:21:33.920 --> 00:21:36.000
And look what a psycho puppy he turned out to be.
00:21:36.080 --> 00:21:36.960
Look at that.
00:21:37.600 --> 00:21:45.360
Jerry Ford, according to the reports, about seven or eight years after they got married, Betty just said, You're doing something wrong.
00:21:45.440 --> 00:21:46.160
You're hurting me.
00:21:46.240 --> 00:21:47.120
This is embarrassing.
00:21:47.200 --> 00:21:48.560
Just stop it.
00:21:52.080 --> 00:21:54.720
Of course, Ron and Nancy is too gross to think about.
00:21:54.960 --> 00:22:03.600
So I think the best story of the year so far, the Oral Roberts deal.
00:22:03.680 --> 00:22:04.640
What a great thing.
00:22:04.800 --> 00:22:05.120
This.
00:22:10.320 --> 00:22:12.400
What a gutsy guy.
00:22:12.800 --> 00:22:18.000
He tells his followers, you have to donate$8 million or God will kill me.
00:22:18.160 --> 00:22:20.240
And I said, I don't have a problem with that.
00:22:20.400 --> 00:22:21.600
I don't.
00:22:22.400 --> 00:22:24.640
This might prove to me that there is a God.
00:22:24.880 --> 00:22:32.720
Yay! Can we all say that together as a group?
00:22:32.960 --> 00:22:38.640
Yes! Because I think if there is a God, he's ashamed by what these guys do in his name, and he would get upset.
00:22:38.800 --> 00:22:42.800
He would say, hey, Orl Roberts, eight million by the end of March, you're dead.
00:22:43.120 --> 00:22:46.560
Falwell, nine billion by tomorrow afternoon, and you're dead.
00:22:46.800 --> 00:22:47.840
Swagger, dead.
00:22:47.920 --> 00:22:49.120
Niedemeyer, dead.
00:22:49.360 --> 00:22:50.720
Niedemeyer was an animal house.
00:22:50.800 --> 00:22:51.519
I got carried away.
00:22:51.600 --> 00:22:51.840
Okay.
00:22:56.400 --> 00:22:56.800
Still.
00:22:58.480 --> 00:22:59.519
What is he saying?
00:22:59.680 --> 00:23:01.840
That if we don't give him money, God's gonna kill him.
00:23:01.920 --> 00:23:03.440
I think we should all write him a bad check.
00:23:03.519 --> 00:23:04.800
Wouldn't that be fun?
00:23:07.360 --> 00:23:07.759
Yeah.
00:23:11.680 --> 00:23:14.960
He gets down to the deadline, he's short, you know, all of a sudden all these checks come in.
00:23:15.120 --> 00:23:18.720
A hell of the money, Lord! Well, the checks are gonna bounce and time's up, world.
00:23:24.160 --> 00:23:26.560
Does anybody believe in this faith healing stuff?
00:23:26.640 --> 00:23:28.080
I had a dream I was a faith healer.
00:23:28.240 --> 00:23:29.200
10,000 people out there.
00:23:29.360 --> 00:23:32.880
They wheel a woman up to me in a wheelchair, as opposed to what?
00:23:32.960 --> 00:23:34.720
I guess a little red wagon would be demeaning.
00:23:36.880 --> 00:23:39.680
And I said to her, Do you believe in the healing power of God?
00:23:40.000 --> 00:23:40.640
With two D's.
00:23:40.720 --> 00:23:41.280
That's how they talk.
00:23:41.440 --> 00:23:42.640
I don't know why.
00:23:43.040 --> 00:23:45.440
She said, Yayes, with many S's.
00:23:46.720 --> 00:23:50.000
I put my hand in her head and I said, You're healed! And I snapped her neck.
00:23:50.240 --> 00:23:51.200
I'm sorry.
00:23:55.280 --> 00:23:58.800
So I lifted her head back up straight, it was kind of hanging off like that.
00:23:59.440 --> 00:24:01.280
I said, uh, your neck is healed.
00:24:01.360 --> 00:24:02.160
Go on, get out of here, lady.
00:24:02.240 --> 00:24:02.880
You're bad news.
00:24:05.680 --> 00:24:08.480
Jim and Tammy, Jim and Tammy.
00:24:08.640 --> 00:24:13.040
This Jim and Tammy Baker.
00:24:13.200 --> 00:24:14.160
Yes, sir.
00:24:14.640 --> 00:24:19.920
Tammy, Tammy Faye, has been in drug rehab 16 years.
00:24:20.000 --> 00:24:25.200
She's been hooked on painkillers, and I think she looks so strange because she was out of it when she put her makeup on.
00:24:25.360 --> 00:24:25.759
I think.
00:24:27.120 --> 00:24:28.560
Eyebrows, here.
00:24:29.040 --> 00:24:29.360
Okay.
00:24:31.519 --> 00:24:32.960
Makeup, paint roller.
00:24:33.200 --> 00:24:33.920
There we go.
00:24:34.240 --> 00:24:34.880
All right.
00:24:40.000 --> 00:24:43.920
Reverend Baker said that the affair was the will of God.
00:24:45.200 --> 00:24:48.320
I think it was the will of a much smaller entity, actually.
00:24:51.360 --> 00:24:53.680
I don't think you can blame that on God.
00:24:54.720 --> 00:24:57.280
Forty days, 40 nights of rain, that's God.
00:24:57.440 --> 00:24:59.360
Plague of frogs, that's God.
00:24:59.600 --> 00:25:03.759
Having sex with a secretary in a motel room in Florida, that's not the will of God.
00:25:04.480 --> 00:25:06.880
It's not divine intervention as we know it.
00:25:07.120 --> 00:25:11.440
May have been divine, may have been intervention, but it wasn't divine intervention as we know it.
00:25:12.240 --> 00:25:14.160
But seriously, folks, you've been a lot of fun.
00:25:14.240 --> 00:25:15.200
Thanks for coming out tonight.
00:25:15.280 --> 00:25:16.000
Thank you very much.
00:25:16.240 --> 00:25:17.120
Thank you.
00:25:23.600 --> 00:25:26.320
We'll be back with more laughs right after this.
00:25:26.800 --> 00:25:27.840
Commercial right.
00:25:29.120 --> 00:25:30.880
Ladies and gentlemen, Tim Bador.
00:25:31.200 --> 00:25:32.160
We hope you enjoyed the show.
00:25:32.240 --> 00:25:34.480
I'd like to thank all the other acts who are with us tonight.
00:25:34.640 --> 00:25:35.840
Tim, thanks a lot.
00:25:36.080 --> 00:25:37.280
Thanks for watching, Laughs.
00:25:37.360 --> 00:25:38.480
I hope you had a good time.
00:25:38.720 --> 00:25:39.759
Thanks, Tony.
00:25:40.240 --> 00:25:40.800
Bye.
00:25:41.280 --> 00:25:42.240
Good night.
00:25:46.000 --> 00:25:47.200
That was Tim Bador.
00:25:47.759 --> 00:25:52.160
You may remember we did an interview with him earlier in this uh podcast series.
00:25:52.480 --> 00:25:56.560
Very funny headlining comedian now out of Minneapolis.
00:25:56.800 --> 00:26:01.360
And uh he has his own podcast, The Agnostics Guide to the Universe.
00:26:01.519 --> 00:26:03.280
If you want to check it out, it's very funny.
00:26:03.600 --> 00:26:10.640
Tim was a regular at the club for many years, and proof of that was that he appeared in our TV show Laughs in 1988.
00:26:10.960 --> 00:26:13.280
Well, that concludes our podcast for this week.
00:26:13.360 --> 00:26:14.720
I sure hope you enjoyed it.
00:26:14.880 --> 00:26:16.880
We're enjoying producing these for you.
00:26:16.960 --> 00:26:19.040
Uh brings back a lot of great memories.
00:26:19.200 --> 00:26:23.280
Be sure to tell your friends and listen to other shows and let us know what you think.
00:26:23.519 --> 00:26:24.080
Thanks.
00:26:24.400 --> 00:26:25.040
Bye.
