00:00:06
Speaker 1: All right, it's another episode of Splash Hit Territory. We are still at the yard. The Giants lose two to nothing today the Angels they go to thirteen and three on the spring. So not a lot to talk about the game. But Susan nice enough to join me today and I just got done.
00:00:21
Speaker 2: Broadcast of the game.
00:00:22
Speaker 1: I'm recovering from strep throat, so my energy level is very load today. I'm not contagious. I'm already taking the Amoxa silants. I'm good, but the energy level is not what it's usually is. So I want to apologize in advance for that. But Susan's going to carry the show today. There were some things we liked about today's game. Raphael Devers was back, Susan.
00:00:41
Speaker 3: Yeah, Devs is back. We just like that just in general. Right, you know, he he's fine. We've you know, he's been probably playable, as they say, playable for several days. But you don't want to you know, it was only a tightness. You never had a strain. But this time of year, there's no reason and to push it. He's so important to this team. He can fall out of bed and hit oh for three today, But really, this is one where you just want to make sure he's healthy, have them get up there see some pitches. It's almost like almost standing in a little bit. When a guy's missed two weeks. He's been out two weeks, so it's a big development. He's unlikely to go on any road trips, so I guess we'll see him back in the next home game. Maybe that's my guess, maybe a short, short roadie.
00:01:26
Speaker 2: He's still like to have a hit in the spring training. I'm so worried.
00:01:31
Speaker 1: For guys like Graffi Dever's at bats aren't a big deal in spring training. There's natural hitters, right, Natural hitters don't need a lot of reps. He will be fine after twenty at bats and ready for the season. So you do take all precautions on a guy that has anything going on. Maybe the only downside of that is first base play. But as far as the hitting goes, not worried at all. It's nice to see him back out there. He let off today, probably to get some at bats and to see some pitches, so it's just good to see that guy.
00:01:59
Speaker 2: His stance was a little difference today. I noticed he was more in his back leg kind of more in a crouch.
00:02:03
Speaker 1: Maybe I'm wrong on that, but that's what I saw in the broadcast for the game today.
00:02:06
Speaker 2: So nice to see him back. There was a picture today that.
00:02:11
Speaker 1: Susan's going crazy about, and I agree with her, and that's Wan Sanchez.
00:02:15
Speaker 2: He came into the game.
00:02:16
Speaker 1: The giantsy lefties out of their bullpen right now with all the injuries. So what did you think of Wan Sanchez today?
00:02:22
Speaker 3: Wan Sanchez has been so impressive and I first he first kind of came to my notice. Well two years ago he almost made a team. He was one of the last cuts, looked really good. Doesn't throw super hard, kind of a crafty lefty type, but his splits are pretty even. So he's one of those lefties who can go maybe multiple innings. Who you know, he's useful, gives you a different look. And Tony Vitello took to him right away. That's one of the things that made me really sit up and take notice. Early in the spring, he said. Tony said some of the effect like well, I'm not really supposed to have favorites, but and then he mentioned Sanchez and I was like, oh, that's interesting. He is the friendliest guy, smileliest guy. He's been in the organization for ten years. He's an international signing out of Venezuela, speaks perfect English. He knows everybody like everybody's best buddy in there, so he's kind of one of those guys. Everybody's rooting for him too, which is super cool. And then he gets in there today, So I filed this story. This is just like a little stupid writer thing, but I filed the story this morning. Sanchez is on the list to pitch today, so I'm like, you know, if he gets lit up, like, still a good story, Like he's a great story either way. But he goes in one, two, three inning, eight pitch inning, So that makes makes me look a little bit better.
00:03:46
Speaker 1: Thank you.
00:03:46
Speaker 3: One inches. Also, now my favorite.
00:03:48
Speaker 2: Nobody got lit up today.
00:03:49
Speaker 1: It was like a two hour game and there was two runs scored in the ninth by the Angels, so the pitching was pretty decent.
00:03:55
Speaker 2: Robbie raised a nice job.
00:03:56
Speaker 1: He had a little hiccups with control today, but he still got through his endings without giving up a run. In spring training, he's still working on things. The right hit dip is the one thing he's really been working on. Susan's article if you want to read it goes into depth on that. It's really good stuff. I use it on the broadcast, thank you. Yeah, I probably should actually talk to Robbie Rayman. I use it on the broadcast today. So it was nice to see the pitchy staff do so well the hitters. This is the time of spring training, you guys, when you just want to play games at count you go through this lull about halfway through spring training. We're just here over the workouts in the morning and getting up at six am and trying to find things that work and tinker with things, and then you just you start to go through the motions a little bit. It's understandable. So today it was one of those days. Offensively, but is that.
00:04:40
Speaker 3: Your Yeah, that's my Sorry that popped up a little late, but yeah, that's there it is, and you didn't mess it up. So thank thanks one again Juan Sanchez for for being so super cool and really good today.
00:04:53
Speaker 2: Yea, check out Susan's article on that. She nailed it.
00:04:56
Speaker 1: And there was also lefty news today, so it's all about left and every neighbors. Yeah, big news one of my favorites, and we kind of got close last year. I'm a big fan of not because he's Italian, but because I'm Italian's Joey the Casey. Every time he came in a game last year on the broadcast, said were like, hey Joey. It just came out like, hey, Joey throws some strikes and he's from Newark, so we love a Bay Area die. You know, I always love or a Norkel guy, and he's in a good job for the Giants last year. I don't have his numbers up right now, but I love what I saw from him. He surprised me Susan in the regards that I didn't know he threw that heart so as a reliever, he was around ninety five ninety six.
00:05:33
Speaker 2: He's not for his churb. It's a change up in a curve combo.
00:05:36
Speaker 1: That's his magic out pitch, and then he's got just enough funk in his delivery where he's got all kinds of things going on. And I thought, I was surprised that Giants didn't sign it back, and maybe even more surprised that nobody signed him.
00:05:49
Speaker 2: But I will take Joey L. Casey on my team any day.
00:05:51
Speaker 3: I was really surprised, and honestly, you know last July he was so good. I went looked at the numbers. I mean, he was lights out in in July and think I think fourteen appearances, So I mean they used him pretty good and then his effectiveness tails off from there, which, of course, you know, but they had to. That was right when they had nobody they've made. You know, they were in the process of making some trades, holding some guys back a little bit. Randy wasn't quite right, and you know they were thin, so they wrote Joey La Caacey. Of course, his effective effectiveness is going to be not quite as great going down the stretch, and they really had, you know, a big needing the bullpen then. So I don't know if that played a role into not bringing him back, but I'm so glad he's back because he really did. He bailed him out for a while at a really important part of the season, kind of kept them in it. And and he's local and a good guy. I think he was a seemed like he was a good teammate to obviously took the ball whenever they asked him to. So I like Joey La Caasey. I got to think he's got a pretty good shot at making this this team looking at you know, Matt Cage has not been super effective this spring. I don't think they're going to go by spring numbers necessarily. Eric Miller is just coming back. He's throwing two hitters tomorrow, so maybe in a game by the weekend, unless he throws the hitters a second time and then maybe in a game next week. It's going to look he is not a guy who I don't think he has to go back to back next necessarily. But the Giants have that weird schedule the first week, They've got two games off in the first five. They can do all sorts of interesting things roster wise. So if they want to leave Eric Miller here to get in some innings on the minor league side, they can do that and have him come meet them right after that Yankee series is over or whatever. You know, they could they could easily do something like that if they feel like he needs a little bit more time, and I think that is that's possible. You know Devors, same thing with Devors. If they feel like at some point he needs to get more backs, you can just go over the minor league side. I mean, it's basically unlimited at bats there if you want.
00:08:04
Speaker 2: Dusty used to do that. I'd ask him.
00:08:06
Speaker 1: I said, hey, guy over the minor league, SI sign and I got nine at bats. I let off every inning and you just see more pitches. You get your rhythm. Like I said, some guys take longer than others to get that rhythm. I don't think that you want Rothie Devers going over and having grenade launchers thrown out. Not that the minor league guys are, but there's always the risk, right, So we'll see. That's just a personal thing. You just go up to the skipper and say hey. I went up to Dusty and said, I need some at bats. I'm not even close yet. He said, go to the minor league side for a day. Dusty was great. He'd give everybody a personal day off when you came to camp. He would say, March twelfth is.
00:08:41
Speaker 2: Your day off. Don't even come to the ballpark.
00:08:43
Speaker 1: And every player had one day off, personal day off where you just didn't show up.
00:08:47
Speaker 3: That's unusual.
00:08:48
Speaker 2: So yeah, I never had that before or after.
00:08:51
Speaker 3: I just always assumed that sometimes guys got that. I don't know why.
00:08:56
Speaker 1: No, I had never heard of it. And that was toward the end of my career. When I said, so, I don't have to come to the park, He's like, no, so it was a family day. Didn't show up.
00:09:04
Speaker 2: He just wanted you to just not think about baseball for the whole day.
00:09:08
Speaker 3: And you know sometimes that there's only one or two days off during days off during the spring for the entire team, and sometimes guys have to come in for treatment, or they have to come and throw a bullpen session or do it like a rehab start things like that, So sometimes the days off aren't necessarily days off of all either. So yeah, I like that idea. It's a long the spring is long. I feel like I've been here for a million years.
00:09:37
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:09:38
Speaker 1: Yeah, I almost dive with strep throats. So I'm ready to go home here soon. Promo easy for me to say. So, you can buy tickets anything Dodgers, Giants, and Scottsdale spring training games opening series against the Yankees. Susan's a huge live music fans. You love soccer, you get all your tickets there. So, Susan, I know you. You love to go to events. You're all every time I talk to you, you're going to another concert. So what you do is you use code territory ten for ten percent off all seat Geek tickets.
00:10:13
Speaker 2: So when's the last when's the last concert event you got to sell the fans.
00:10:17
Speaker 3: Let's see, I went to see Strombella's here in Phoenix at the Van Buren Downtown last week. Yeah, sweet venue. It's kind of been a little bit of a maybe slightly sketchy part of downtown Phoenix. I would say, I've never been there, never seen it, and it is a beautiful venue. It's got like all sorts of uh it's got like an outside area, it's got a really cool sort of main area with a bar and merch and stuff like that, and then it's got a great performance space perfect say, like I go to so many events, like the stage is the perfect tight Like they did everything right. So a big thumbs up for the Van Buren and I will be checking SeatGeek.
00:10:55
Speaker 1: Yeah, and you obviously bought your tickets on seat Geek, or at least that's what we're saying in right now, So.
00:11:01
Speaker 3: Check it out. You see.
00:11:04
Speaker 2: That's I don't pay for tickets ever.
00:11:09
Speaker 3: This is what it's like being friends with a former player. Chaing did All right, let's change topics a little bit.
00:11:21
Speaker 1: I know, you want to talk about Bryce Elderts today that he's the talking camp. Oh yeah, he is swinging it, he's picking it at first, he's saying all the right things, he's doing all the right things.
00:11:31
Speaker 2: I don't know what the decision is going to be whether he makes a team or not.
00:11:34
Speaker 1: I honestly don't even think it matters, because he's going to help the Giants in some capacity a lot this year, whether it's on opening DA against the Yankees. I think we'd all like to see that, but we'll just see what the Giants decided.
00:11:46
Speaker 2: To do with them.
00:11:47
Speaker 1: And Tony had some interesting things to say to you this morning about him.
00:11:50
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean that you can see what what Tony was talking about this morning. Yeah. He basically said, like this next two weeks really might wind up being what decides things for Eldridge, Which is interesting because you know, scouts come in all the time. What are they going to do with Eldridge? What do you think they're going to what's the roster going to look like? As e and I've been saying, you know, I think my kind of gut feeling is that he's on the roster. We've talked about this before he's in the lineup. Most days we see him, we spend so much time talking about him. I kind of have just assumed that and kind of been constructing rosters in my head with him on it. But you know, he's hitten sort of a blow to fifty. I don't think that necessarily matters. But he's looked pretty good at first. He's clearly improved there. He's only going to get better. But the scouts are all really split on Bryce Eldridge. A lot of them think, you know what, why mess with him, Let like let him be one hundred percent ready, Send him to Sacramento, keep developing him, make sure he is ready. He's only played last year. It was sixty six games at Sacramento, not a lot, not a ton of it bats there. Hasn't done dominated necessarily the pact that I mean, he did well, but he didn't dominate. Some teams like their guys to dominate before they bring him up. But then there's a lot that are like, look at this guy. I mean, he's a pure slugger, he's gonna hit. He's getting better at first, and like, bring him up now. If he's your best option, put him on the roster. And I got to think there's so many people in the Giant's front office. Now, who's so many advisors. I'm guessing that there's probably some split there. There's got to be a few people who are saying, like, hang on, let's just make sure he's ready, and you know, you can bring him up anytime. That's the beautiful thing of the roster. You can. You're not limited. You can you can be as flexible as you want to be and maybe send him to a Sacramento to get them at bads and really get going before you bring him up. What do you think well about the evaluation part?
00:13:49
Speaker 1: I always thought it was a more precise evaluation later in camp, where early in camp, pictures are trying to work on things, find their stuff. But with the leader you get in camp, pictures are starting to dial it up. They got to get ready for their opening day, and so you can evaluate younger players a little more accurately later in camp. So what he does the last two weeks, I feel like we'll hold more weight than what he's done already. He's done everything he needs to do so far. He's lining out at one hundred and thirteen miles an hour. He's hitt one hundred and twelve mile hour doubles. He's playing way better first than I expected watching them take ground balls the first day. Ron Washington is already doing a great job, and you can see the improvements. But the last two weeks, for guys that are going to make the team, you're facing guys that are going to be It's not just I'm working on my change up today. It's like, here's a nasty slider because I got to throw that in a week in front of fifty thousand people.
00:14:38
Speaker 2: Here's my best fastball.
00:14:40
Speaker 1: And I'm ramping up relievers too, So you can evaluate at bats and performances way more accurately.
00:14:47
Speaker 2: The last two weeks, or even a week of spring training.
00:14:49
Speaker 3: That makes a lot of sense. I mean really, I mean that's when the competition is going to be the best. I did. I found it interesting that because usually teams go like, we're not going to decide anything based on spring training, and he's such a big name and such an important you know, he's our top prospect. This is a big deal and they know all eyes will be on it, so it's a little unusual. But he also said, and I don't know, like, look, I don't. Tony is definitely not anybody that's trying to ever send a message to the media. I think he really is very genuine from what we've been able to tell so far. But the way he summed up was he will be here to help us like soon, Like this is a guy who will be here to me. That doesn't really necessarily mean right away. So maybe I'm reading a little too much into that.
00:15:40
Speaker 2: Anybody doesn't make opening day as a player, though. You want to run out to the line.
00:15:43
Speaker 1: And you want to watch the planes fly over, and you want to have an opening day as a player, and you want to.
00:15:48
Speaker 2: Be on the roster, but that could change in a week either way.
00:15:50
Speaker 3: You don't have plenty of opening days.
00:15:52
Speaker 2: I think you will have plenty. I'm a huge fan. I don't know. It's not my call. I'm not in the front office. I'm just a dork that talks on the radio.
00:15:59
Speaker 1: But I like every thing about the young man, like talking to him a lot on the bench, getting to know him better. He's mature beyond his years. And he met Bryce Harper the other day and that's his childhood hero. And he told me a story about Bryce hit three home runs in a game, and then in Little League he went and he hit three home runs in the game. And I thought about it today and I haven't talked to Bryce that they need to exchange numbers because there's a lot of similarities between young guys with a lot of hype and a lot of you know, number one pick, number one prospect.
00:16:29
Speaker 2: Although Bryce was a little bit higher. He's on the cover of Sports Illustrated when he was sixteen.
00:16:33
Speaker 3: You have to be specific about which Bryce Bryce Harper was.
00:16:36
Speaker 2: On the cover of Sports illustra I think you guys know what I'm talking about.
00:16:42
Speaker 1: So there could be some really good advice from a veteran player that went through a similar situation with a lot of expectations, a lot of pressure. And I think we all are thinking Bryce is gonna have Bryce Elder it is gonna have a great career.
00:16:54
Speaker 2: But that would be a good resource for him if they could connect and talk on the phone.
00:16:57
Speaker 3: I feel like, yeah, I would think so. I mean, I absolutely, But you know what, Bryce Eldridge does not lack for confidence. Somebody tweeted at me today like, you know, oh, well, they're just trying to keep him motivated or something like these final two weeks. Make sure he's I was like, first of all, he's not a major leaguer if he means that to stay motivated, but he is not somebody. Yeah, it was just I mean, it's just somebody on Twitter. But this is not a kid who lacks for confidence at all. He is one of the most confident. He might be the most most confident young player i've met.
00:17:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, but not in a cocky, a cocky way. He is scaring himself.
00:17:36
Speaker 3: He knows who he is, he knows what he can do. He really believes in himself what you have to do, and everything about him is so impressive, really really impressive. He's I think he's going to be you know, people compare him to Brandon Belt. He might be that kind of player, but I think he could be a big star, not just for the talent, but because of the personersonality in the persona. You know, he's tall, he's good looking, he speaks so well, and he's just he's smooth, charisma like he's got it. He's the full package.
00:18:10
Speaker 2: He really is, so you know, it is the full package. Just the WBC.
00:18:14
Speaker 1: I don't know if you guys have been watching it, but the enthusiasm the crowds, the Giants players that are doing so well with There was Logan web the other day against Team Brazil give up the solo home run to Many Ramirez, his son, and then you know we've seen Webby like first and he can. You know, he's got to work his way in, find his pitches, find his rhythm, and then it was lights out from there. It was cool seeing his family in the stands. So if you're watching the WBC, check it out on Fox one. You can find it anytime.
00:18:42
Speaker 4: The foul Territory main show is doing postgame shows for all USA games and Wednesday's big Dominican Republic Versus Venezuela games, so you can catch it on Fox.
00:18:54
Speaker 2: But you can also catch like.
00:18:56
Speaker 1: The Mothership for our show, foul Territorian and at work, they're there and they're they're doing postgame shows afterwards, so it's good stuff.
00:19:03
Speaker 2: Check it out.
00:19:05
Speaker 1: I love my favorite part Susan in the WBC is the enthusiasm that these guys are playing with.
00:19:11
Speaker 2: And I don't think you can do that for one hundred and sixty two games. But the way that where is Puerto Rico and Elliott Ramos or jung.
00:19:17
Speaker 1: Uli getting big hits and big plays Korea or the Dominican or the Venezuelan team, that the enthusiasm they show and they're all out on the dugout and they're just watching home runs and stand at home play. La da la Cruz hit a home run today like one hundred and sixteen miles an hour, and he just stood at.
00:19:33
Speaker 2: Home playing like those batting practice And I love that. I was used to be old school, like.
00:19:38
Speaker 1: Put the bat down and run get off the lawn, And now I love when enthusiasm has showed during the game. But I love the way the game was evolved, and I think you're gonna see that from the Giants this year a lot more than before. That's just hard to keep up for six months every single day.
00:19:51
Speaker 3: Yeah it is. And I think you know one thing that I think you probably have non it is Team Italy has become the darling of this tournament.
00:20:03
Speaker 2: And espresso shots after home runs.
00:20:05
Speaker 3: Everybody loves Team Italy. I'm the team great Britain fan. So I was very excited because they won. They won a game, They won one game, which automatically qualifies them for next time they beat Brazil. Sorry, Marianna, the Giants wonderful PR person. Mariannatopaula is Team Brazil's PR person, which that has got to have been a fun job, right there.
00:20:26
Speaker 1: They had like a seventeen year old kid pitching the other night in Team Brazil, and they had like a forty year old construction worker cock pitch and the same game. Super kind of wonky roster, if I'm being honest. Their coach is Japanese Brazilian. But it's just it's fun. This whole thing has been fun and I'm into a big time. I know all the guys wanted to be a They want to play in the Olympics in twenty twenty eight. Brice has talked about it. Derek Scoogle talked about it today. They all want to play in the Olympics. I think the Olympic Hockey team has really inspired these guys to want to do it in the summertime too.
00:20:58
Speaker 2: I don't know how you worked.
00:20:58
Speaker 3: That whole thing, but yeah, was planning for Team GB besides Jassism and the Beck brothers, Tristan and Brendan uh and Harry Ford, Prince Charles Trace Thompson, Trace Thompson brother.
00:21:13
Speaker 1: Yes, I talked to Tristan about that you can talk warriors and talk about play with Trace. So watch the WBC on Fox, and we're going shorty version today because I'm a little bit under the weather. Still, I didn't know that strap flow kicks your ass like I did. I have literally zero energy and barely made it through the broadcast night. But do we take you got to take care of any more business?
00:21:37
Speaker 2: Are we going?
00:21:37
Speaker 3: I don't think so, but I do. I am excited about this Mexico US A game. Yeah, I think that's yeah, No, I mean that's that's honestly, that's what I'm kind of like. That's my evening. Is Mexico team USA like the Indefina teams Mexico Versus? Are you kidding me? I think it's Paul Skans today.
00:21:55
Speaker 2: Yeah, Paul is your third starter and that lineup as everybody.
00:21:58
Speaker 1: You pitch around dur in the right other season if you're playing a normal game against third team.
00:22:03
Speaker 2: So it's going to be very interesting. I'm I'm a huge like president of the fan club.
00:22:07
Speaker 1: Kyle Schwarverer's my guy. I just have heard nothing but great things from players that played with them. I got to know him a little bit when he was back east. I think I told the story last time on the podcast. I told him he's got to lose the tooths and a walk off home running the championship game like Jackies did in hockey.
00:22:23
Speaker 2: So he loved the idea. He's just such a gamer.
00:22:26
Speaker 3: But just you might tell us favorite guy too is really Yeah, he went like he did, has a whole story about he and his dad went to that game seven and you know, his dad's a Cubs fan and so they and they I think they met him the other day. Like that's super stiked that. He sounds like an awesome guy.
00:22:44
Speaker 1: I mean, I watched uh Philly's games during the day, and obviously I do the Giants games or watch Giants games at night.
00:22:51
Speaker 2: That's my favorite team to watch besides the Giants because of him.
00:22:54
Speaker 1: And I know Trey Turner and Bryce Too name dropping, but you know, I got to be close with those guys. Yes, so I kind of. I like the way that Phillies play baseball. I like the brand of baseball. They play the game the right way, whether it's Marsh or some of their secondary players that aren't superstars JT. Realmuto. I just like that team so I'm a closet Phillies fan, I guess just because of the personalities on the team, not because of.
00:23:15
Speaker 2: The uniform, you know what.
00:23:16
Speaker 3: Like I like watching the Brewers.
00:23:18
Speaker 2: I love watching them.
00:23:19
Speaker 3: I think things really well. I like the way they do things. I think the Giants kind of try to emulate a few things the way that the way they kind of do some roster things. Obviously they got a Thomas. I think they kind of would have liked to have been the team that got Freddy Peralta. But yeah, I love watching the Brewers.
00:23:37
Speaker 1: With the last coaching stuff, I got into a real deep conversation with Day during batting practice, and Mark Holberg is the guy that I was talking to, and he won't care if I mentioned this. He said that that silent baseball plays at Oracle Park for eighty one.
00:23:51
Speaker 2: Games, where where you know you have speed on the.
00:23:54
Speaker 1: Bases, you put pressure on offense, you do all the little things, you pitch it, you catch it. The Brewers have a former college coach and Pat Murphy, and they'd play the game like a college team with all the fundamentally sound things. So there's no reason why that brand of baseball with a former college coach would not work at Overcle Park.
00:24:12
Speaker 2: And I'll leave you with this today because I need to wrap up. I watched if you listen to the game, he lost me in the sixth end today.
00:24:22
Speaker 1: Yeah, the amoxiscill and kicks your butt. I watched the Giants workout today and they did situational baseball and they had kids from the minor league camp come over and run the base is hard. So whether it was rundowns, whether it was coaches fun going into the gap and runner on first one out, they did twenty seven outs where they simulated a game on defense and it was crisp, it was clean, it was high intensity. It was like and maybe that's why they got three hits today because their workout was so intense this morning, which I absolutely loved.
00:24:52
Speaker 2: And we never recreate game speed at the big league level because we're worried about getting guys hurt. And it's a veteran.
00:24:56
Speaker 1: He's like Willie Domas, Matt Chapman, even Raffie Devers at first base, like they.
00:25:01
Speaker 2: Were all into it, like it was a real game and there.
00:25:03
Speaker 1: Was situational baseball, and you know, the coaches would roll a bunt and it was really good stuff. So that was super encouraging. That was my best takeaway from today. Who cares about the game? Their workout today before the game was worth watching even more than the game.
00:25:18
Speaker 3: And you know, I think that that was one issue that the front office had kind of raised a little bit about, like maybe we should be having more workouts, more intense workouts, especially defensive, and I think that's one one area that they really wanted to emphasize. So they're getting that, and I would love to see this team run more. They're running a lot more this spring. Jared Oliva has been outstanding. He's got six deals, He's right at the top. I don't think he's a roster consideration now, but you know, I still insist that baseball needs to either expand the roster or go to the healthy scratch thing. And everybody should be able to have a pinch runner if they want a more exciting game. If you had somebody like a Jared Oliva on your bed in that you could deploy in a big situation, boom, you've got a way more fun game.
00:26:05
Speaker 1: To me. So, well, there's gonna be forty something guys used this year, maybe fifty, I don't know. So that's why this opening day roster is so overrated, and we talk about it in the batting order and who's going to make the team.
00:26:17
Speaker 2: I'm whatever. I've said this on the podcast before.
00:26:21
Speaker 1: We'd sit in the dug out in September and say name our opening day lineup and nobody could.
00:26:24
Speaker 2: So it's we're excited about the season. We're excited about the.
00:26:28
Speaker 1: Opening day against the Yankees, but the roster thing is just if the lineup's gonna be shifting, the roster's gonna be shifting all your long. And we're really excited about the WBC and we're more excited about Sea Geek than anything else.
00:26:40
Speaker 3: So look, he made it through. We almost we almost got to a normal time. Congratulations, they're still away.
00:26:46
Speaker 2: Good fans probably want it twenty minutes if I'm being honest.
00:26:48
Speaker 1: All right, thanks for thanks for thanks for watching guys again, Thanks Susan for coming on again. I'm going to go home and sleep, and we really appreciate it. And like I always say, on the way out, swing hard in case you hit it on ship Charmed
