00:00:23
Speaker 1: You've caught my eye with that.
00:00:25
Speaker 2: This is one of our Bargain Box favorites.
00:00:27
Speaker 1: How good does this look? Okay, so I'm going to eat this?
00:00:29
Speaker 2: Weh?
00:00:29
Speaker 1: I talk eating and talking, so I mean cost of living. No one will be surprised to hear. Cost of living has been a major concern and today is still a big concern fact number one for a lot of families.
00:00:42
Speaker 2: Totally. Bargain Box does some research and not surprisingly, we found that over three quarters of people seventy five percent of people are now adjusting their shopping habits and finding it a lot harder to make nutritious, healthy meals for their family. Which is not surprising, is it? Because the food and groceries have gone up so much?
00:01:02
Speaker 1: Totally, So, how does bargain box compare you know, if you were going to do a supermarket shop, which is where a lot of people do their shopping versus bargain box, Like, what are you doing to make sure that you're competitive here?
00:01:14
Speaker 2: Well, super proud to say that. So every week we track the cost of the bargain box recipes and ingredients and versus the supermarket, and a lot of people have this perception that meal kits are often a lot more expensive, but bargain box has actually shown to be almost six percent five point eight percent cheaper than the supermarket, like for like with all the ingredients and everything, which I think is amazing because you're not only getting better value for your ingredients, but you're getting all the stress of what's for dinner taken away from you. You're getting it delivered to your door so you don't actually have to go drive to the supermarket. It just takes away all of that mental load around what's for dinner, which if you're the person that has to do that every night, we all know it can be very very much.
00:01:57
Speaker 1: I know you're definitely talking to my husband, not me.
00:02:00
Speaker 2: I was thinking that as I was looking at you as like I don't think you're.
00:02:05
Speaker 1: But he hears you, hears you, and so what are we getting? I mean, this is delicious. I've been rudely eating while you're talking this Chicken filo yum.
00:02:13
Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess. Bargain boxes it's like my food bag. You know. We started off with my food bag. People loved the concept, it was going really well, and that's what sparked the idea for bargain Box. We thought, how can we make this whole concept even more accessible for people that are on a low budget and to fit in with more kind of family style meals as well. So bargain Box we specialize in really family orientated meals that like family favorites with a bit of an interesting twist on them, but great value, nothing too fancy, and you're just real simple, good Kibi Tucker Ym.
00:02:49
Speaker 1: They look good too, don't they. Ten years Yeah, congratulations.
00:02:53
Speaker 2: Yeah, happy birthday, bargain Box.

Speaker 1: Yeah. But I mean that's a long time and still going strong, in fact, wronger than ever. So what's the what have you learned? I mean, what have you learned and adjusted over that time?
00:03:05
Speaker 2: At the end of the day, people want delicious food that's simple, doesn't take too long to cook and has got a bit of familiarity with it. That's what I feel, especially when it comes to families, that's what they're after. And it's a bonus when it's nutritious as well, when it's got all the vegetables and everything packed into it. But really every people just don't want to have that mental load of thinking what am I going to cook for dinner tonight and tomorrow night and for the rest of the week, every single night of the week. They want that taken away from them totally. When I do and food that's my job.
