Sorcerer (1977)

WEBVTT
00:00.051 --> 00:02.513
[SPEAKER_01]: I just need you to know I fall asleep to the voice of your husband.
00:02.793 --> 00:14.403
[SPEAKER_03]: And then... Now, welcome to Rekatopia, a happy home for Rekatmated movies, TV shows, music, video games, foodstuffs, and more from three people you can definitely trust.
00:14.763 --> 00:16.945
[SPEAKER_03]: Trustability varies by region no guarantees implied.
00:31.445 --> 00:35.009
[SPEAKER_03]: And now here are your hosts, Chris Akinson, Jeremy Scott, and Eron Dyson.
00:51.675 --> 00:56.019
[SPEAKER_02]: Hello everyone, it is episode 180 of Rekotopia.
00:56.119 --> 00:59.422
[SPEAKER_02]: My name is Chris Atkins and joined by Aaron Dyser.
00:59.442 --> 01:01.704
[SPEAKER_02]: How do we host Shidorino's?
01:02.185 --> 01:03.666
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the Shidorino's.
01:04.567 --> 01:07.430
[SPEAKER_02]: Also, welcome to the show, Jeremy Scott.
01:07.530 --> 01:08.191
[SPEAKER_04]: Come on!
01:09.315 --> 01:09.755
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
01:10.055 --> 01:10.356
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
01:10.596 --> 01:10.856
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
01:10.976 --> 01:13.537
[SPEAKER_02]: We're gonna be talking a lot about a lot of Kaboom.
01:13.617 --> 01:15.338
[SPEAKER_02]: Last week was Bada Boom.
01:15.858 --> 01:17.239
[SPEAKER_02]: This week is Kaboom.
01:17.259 --> 01:18.840
[SPEAKER_02]: Big Bada Boom.
01:19.180 --> 01:19.960
[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
01:20.160 --> 01:20.721
[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
01:20.921 --> 01:25.823
[SPEAKER_02]: We'd also like to welcome Chat who have come out here to watch us talk about movies on a Tuesday.
01:25.883 --> 01:27.484
[SPEAKER_02]: We appreciate you guys coming out.
01:28.124 --> 01:31.846
[SPEAKER_02]: I can't wait to talk about the big recommend today, which is Sorcerer.
01:32.386 --> 01:34.748
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll go on to our small recommends.
01:37.750 --> 01:41.374
[SPEAKER_02]: It's so small and light, it's small, it's tiny, it's petite, it's weak.
01:41.894 --> 01:49.121
[SPEAKER_02]: I will kick us off with a movie, go ahead and fire up your gezoon tight jokes right now.
01:50.022 --> 01:54.366
[SPEAKER_02]: But I watched a movie that I've heard about for a long time, and I never have popped it in.
01:54.406 --> 01:58.710
[SPEAKER_02]: I've got the criterion collection of this, it's Koyana Scatzi.
01:59.831 --> 02:09.116
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, which is basically a sort of visual and sonic feast all the way through, uh, the, uh, the movie.
02:09.236 --> 02:16.279
[SPEAKER_02]: It's basically about, uh, it's, it's just shows a bunch of like nature at the beginning.
02:16.299 --> 02:17.740
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, oh, wow, this is just like,
02:18.300 --> 02:40.185
[SPEAKER_02]: a lot of cool vistas and things like that and amazing stuff to look at and whatever we have a driving Philip Glass score I think it's his first ever movie score as he was asked to do it and he said something like I don't do movie scores but then he said whoever I can't remember the guy directed at the guy's name is escapes me right now Godfrey regio was
02:41.845 --> 03:02.722
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you're your stuff would work perfectly for this and it does you will if you're familiar with the glass movie scores You will hear Truman show throughout this probably But it shows you all these Like just sort of natural landmarks and then all of a sudden what creeps into the frame are little intrusions
03:03.262 --> 03:11.389
[SPEAKER_02]: like electric wires and towers and things that man has built basically as it goes as we go through this.
03:11.449 --> 03:20.397
[SPEAKER_02]: It's almost kind of like a watching an evolution of, you know, here's what we had and here's what we're doing to it as it goes along.
03:21.238 --> 03:35.691
[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, all along while I had you I don't know, do you make it different messages from this thing as you as you want it, but there's one moment in particular that I found completely mesmerizing I think we're all familiar with.
03:36.451 --> 03:46.514
[SPEAKER_02]: time-lapse photography and stuff like where, you know, like you see traffic moving and you see all these like quick lights blasting through this thing.
03:46.754 --> 03:55.317
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know something about the way they did it in this and knowing the fact that it's not digital or any sort of like weird special effect or anything like that.
03:55.877 --> 03:58.900
[SPEAKER_02]: watching traffic for like five to 10 minutes.
03:58.980 --> 04:06.126
[SPEAKER_02]: I was just sitting there a gate at how like mesmerizing it was watching it and everything.
04:06.726 --> 04:09.048
[SPEAKER_02]: But really it's just that kind of thing.
04:09.088 --> 04:10.930
[SPEAKER_02]: There are two other movies after this.
04:11.130 --> 04:19.577
[SPEAKER_02]: I guess they kind of touch on, I don't know if they touch on the exact same thing or if it's like, hey, there's even more intrusions now or whatever, but this is something
04:25.081 --> 04:52.475
[SPEAKER_02]: This is going to be some like a, you know, a negative for this movie, but I can see myself going to sleep to this movie over the next few years, just popping it in and letting it roll and it just, you know, you just let it, you know, let it run for about an hour and a half and then, you know, before, you know, it just lights out and just conked out or whatever, but yeah, no, no dialogue, no story, it's what you make of it and yeah, very good.
04:52.835 --> 04:53.736
[SPEAKER_02]: I highly recommend it.
04:54.396 --> 04:55.437
[SPEAKER_02]: So there we are.
04:55.457 --> 04:57.639
[SPEAKER_01]: This is Scott C. That's right.
04:58.780 --> 05:00.502
[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, he can't get that out of your head.
05:00.922 --> 05:01.523
[SPEAKER_01]: No, man.
05:01.703 --> 05:02.143
[SPEAKER_01]: It was.
05:02.443 --> 05:09.690
[SPEAKER_03]: So this will replace the previous movie you put in every night when you go to bed, Rose Mary's baby.
05:10.475 --> 05:11.156
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, yeah.
05:11.236 --> 05:12.317
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it will for sure.
05:12.337 --> 05:21.566
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, um, it's hard to knock the king of knocking you out, knocking out to with with this, but that's what I'm going to have to do.
05:22.106 --> 05:23.187
[SPEAKER_01]: Rose, please be.
05:23.287 --> 05:28.492
[SPEAKER_01]: I fired this up on Amazon Prime last night because I knew we'd be talking about it today and I hadn't hadn't seen it before.
05:29.433 --> 05:34.139
[SPEAKER_01]: and about, you know, 10, 15 minutes in, I'm like, Chris, what, what are we doing?
05:34.159 --> 05:35.420
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what did you get us into?
05:35.440 --> 05:41.246
[SPEAKER_01]: Because it really is just like you're watching nature and like, okay, because okay, I wouldn't blind.
05:41.447 --> 05:46.512
[SPEAKER_01]: So I had no idea what this was and all of a sudden, like, okay, so this is like an experimental.
05:47.173 --> 05:47.974
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, kind of thing.
05:48.154 --> 06:02.443
[SPEAKER_01]: And then it just grows on you like just there's something really interesting about giving yourself to a movie like this and just watching it, not second screening, not messing around on your phone like just really kind of giving yourself to the the.
06:02.983 --> 06:13.150
[SPEAKER_01]: Emotion of it, which is when to say because there's not characters or, you know, there is a story in that it's, it's about, I think technically the word means life chaotic or life out of balance.
06:13.370 --> 06:13.711
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
06:13.851 --> 06:25.639
[SPEAKER_01]: And so it really is about, you know, how technology as it advances us also creates an imbalance in us and, and it shows all of these different, you know, things and progresses.
06:27.040 --> 06:31.244
[SPEAKER_01]: fairly linear, you know, it's a very linear progression.
06:31.525 --> 06:31.745
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
06:32.025 --> 06:34.027
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so I really liked it overall.
06:34.087 --> 06:35.328
[SPEAKER_01]: It is definitely experimental.
06:35.729 --> 06:36.289
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
06:36.650 --> 06:41.735
[SPEAKER_01]: It has to be a top, it has to be a top five get stoned in watch movie of all time.
06:41.835 --> 06:46.179
[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's just, you know, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's really interesting.
06:46.239 --> 06:47.921
[SPEAKER_01]: So thanks for the recommended.
06:48.121 --> 06:49.903
[SPEAKER_01]: I, I jump on and recommend it to others.
06:50.443 --> 06:53.384
[SPEAKER_02]: that he practically gets stoned watching it.
06:54.684 --> 07:04.788
[SPEAKER_02]: And I was in a different state that did watching this movie than, you know, I don't know, I just, there's a, I don't know, there's a feeling that comes over.
07:04.808 --> 07:12.090
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if it's supposed to evoke calm because it's really kind of telling you like, look at what we're doing to the earth basically,
07:12.950 --> 07:27.504
[SPEAKER_01]: At the same time, it's kind of beautiful how they've shot it, netted it, and that felt glass score and all that, so I've never seen a Twinkie production line look so beautiful and artistic and also
07:28.585 --> 07:35.290
[SPEAKER_01]: I, I so miss 1980s Twinkies, like there's so different now than they were when I was growing up.
07:35.330 --> 07:35.851
[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
07:35.971 --> 07:38.853
[SPEAKER_01]: It's because of all the bad stuff that was in them that I really enjoy.
07:38.873 --> 07:41.935
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, in the, uh, thankropped in a new company bought them.
07:41.955 --> 07:52.143
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
07:53.609 --> 07:59.374
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going back to 1955, I'm, you know, catching up on some stuff, so I saw a movie called Or Dead.
07:59.774 --> 08:01.395
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a Danish film.
08:02.696 --> 08:08.921
[SPEAKER_01]: The director really didn't do anything critically acclaimed other than this Carl Dryer was his name.
08:08.941 --> 08:10.382
[SPEAKER_01]: This was originally a play.
08:11.404 --> 08:25.464
[SPEAKER_01]: uh... written by a Danish Lutheran priest and he brought it to the screen uh... it is regarded uh... by many as a masterpiece i think in sight and sound two thousand twelve it was in the the top twenty five uh... of all time
08:26.265 --> 08:41.617
[SPEAKER_01]: uh... and i see why i loved this movie now a lot of the reason i love this movies because of the themes that are dealing with we're dealing with a religious family here where three brothers the older brother has given up on his faith uh... the middle brother believes he is Jesus Christ
08:42.438 --> 08:46.862
[SPEAKER_01]: and the younger brother is holding on to his faith strongly.
08:47.462 --> 08:53.668
[SPEAKER_01]: And the movie deals with how what happens when tragedy hits this family.
08:55.089 --> 08:59.273
[SPEAKER_01]: And it hits it in the oldest son's family.
08:59.393 --> 09:07.159
[SPEAKER_01]: He's married with a child in one-on-the-way and complications in the delivery of this child, creative traumatic.
09:08.240 --> 09:13.645
[SPEAKER_01]: situation where these, this family has to reckon with their faith.
09:13.765 --> 09:19.530
[SPEAKER_01]: They have to determine what they actually believe, what they think is real, what they don't think is real.
09:19.550 --> 09:21.612
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's fascinating.
09:21.632 --> 09:22.853
[SPEAKER_01]: It's shot really well, too.
09:22.993 --> 09:25.916
[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's a gorgeous movie as well.
09:26.296 --> 09:26.456
[SPEAKER_01]: And...
09:27.317 --> 09:45.407
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and you know, a lot of times I've been watching a lot of old, you know, criterion, channel, already films, whatever, and it's usually, it's usually French films, or, you know, but Danish is a different link, you know, like the the more Nordic language is or really interesting to me.
09:45.487 --> 09:48.909
[SPEAKER_01]: So to hear them spoken was also kind of interestingly fun.
09:50.030 --> 09:51.431
[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, it's on criteria and channel.
09:51.451 --> 09:52.972
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure if it's also on HBO Max.
09:52.992 --> 09:58.555
[SPEAKER_01]: I know there's some crossover at the same time, but I would recommend or dad it.
09:58.615 --> 09:59.756
[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely pushed a lot of my buttons.
10:00.236 --> 10:04.659
[SPEAKER_02]: Have not heard of this movie before, and now I'm very interested in seeing it.
10:04.919 --> 10:06.240
[SPEAKER_02]: What's the year you say this was from?
10:06.260 --> 10:07.460
[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's 55.
10:08.061 --> 10:12.323
[SPEAKER_01]: I think 55 is what IMDB says.
10:12.343 --> 10:14.885
[SPEAKER_01]: I think 57 is what some other places say.
10:14.925 --> 10:16.366
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not expecting somewhere there in the mid-50s.
10:17.073 --> 10:19.234
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, very interested in that.
10:20.154 --> 10:20.775
[SPEAKER_02]: Jeremy, what you got.
10:22.315 --> 10:26.797
[SPEAKER_03]: I saw a stand-up special on HBO Max that was released in 2024.
10:26.917 --> 10:30.239
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's Alex Edelman just for us.
10:31.699 --> 10:35.041
[SPEAKER_03]: And I really enjoyed it.
10:35.621 --> 10:37.822
[SPEAKER_03]: This is a Jewish comedian.
10:39.263 --> 10:43.124
[SPEAKER_03]: And just for anyone that would be curious, this was filmed in 2023.
10:44.665 --> 10:49.847
[SPEAKER_03]: before the current escalation of the Israel Palestine conflict.
10:50.287 --> 10:53.368
[SPEAKER_03]: There's no mention of any of that in this special.
10:54.948 --> 11:00.530
[SPEAKER_03]: But this is a comic who's a lot more like per big than a set up punchline comment.
11:00.570 --> 11:02.030
[SPEAKER_03]: This is a storytelling comic.
11:02.350 --> 11:07.572
[SPEAKER_03]: And the central conceit of this, which he claims is 70% a true story, is after
11:11.553 --> 11:15.435
[SPEAKER_03]: a bunch of negative interactions with antisemites on Twitter.
11:16.315 --> 11:22.839
[SPEAKER_03]: He ended up going blind to white nationalist meeting in Brooklyn.
11:24.640 --> 11:28.642
[SPEAKER_03]: It was an online invite that said, Do you have questions about your whiteness?
11:29.662 --> 11:32.144
[SPEAKER_03]: He said, I do have questions about my whiteness.
11:33.904 --> 11:38.647
[SPEAKER_03]: And so the special is him telling the story of being at this.
11:40.370 --> 11:51.165
[SPEAKER_03]: my supremacist meeting as a Jewish person eventually being found out but he weaves into this story
11:54.213 --> 12:18.724
[SPEAKER_03]: then yet about his family and his Jewish culture and heritage and his parents and it's very, very warm, fond kind of recollection of how he was raised and how unique and different that is from a lot of people and he sort of compares and contrasts to that with the current state of
12:20.157 --> 12:24.723
[SPEAKER_03]: race relations in the world, specifically a white nationalist and Jewish people.
12:25.624 --> 12:30.329
[SPEAKER_03]: I laughed me a ton, but it also had heart and made me think.
12:30.830 --> 12:34.675
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's an hour and a half on HBO Max, and I recommend it with both thumbs.
12:35.515 --> 12:39.137
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I do like these story teller comics.
12:39.177 --> 12:54.565
[SPEAKER_02]: I've not heard of this guy before, but I do like it because there's there's something about being able to do a stand-up show where you're not so worried about getting a laugh every 30 seconds.
12:55.325 --> 13:01.550
[SPEAKER_02]: That is kind of brave to me because, you know, you're up there just telling a story.
13:01.570 --> 13:06.214
[SPEAKER_02]: People are like, laugh, you know, you're, make us laugh, monkey, you know, that type of thing.
13:06.274 --> 13:12.179
[SPEAKER_02]: And, and in this case, you know, you, you just get wrapped up in the stories that they tell.
13:12.239 --> 13:15.101
[SPEAKER_02]: And they have, have humorous observations about them.
13:15.121 --> 13:16.262
[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll have to give this a look.
13:17.627 --> 13:43.503
[SPEAKER_01]: uh... yeah this is this is a great one he's got a really interesting energy about him uh... as a storyteller two like it's a very high energy almost like hyperactive delivery style that you know could take a couple seconds to get into but man the jewish christmas story in this special is an all-timeer of a store like an all-all-timeer of a story it's in it's incredible
13:44.283 --> 13:53.187
[SPEAKER_01]: um uh and and it's really funny throughout and this has one of the the biggest banger of an endings for a comedy special I've ever seen.
13:53.287 --> 13:56.208
[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, the ending is perfect.
13:56.808 --> 13:57.048
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
13:57.288 --> 14:02.971
[SPEAKER_04]: I really don't think it's true, but I don't even I don't want to know.
14:03.251 --> 14:03.991
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to know.
14:04.351 --> 14:05.052
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to know.
14:06.492 --> 14:07.533
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's a killer ending.
14:07.853 --> 14:09.393
[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, God, you've seen it and enjoyed it.
14:09.413 --> 14:10.634
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's the.
14:11.630 --> 14:18.915
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, let's get on to our big recommend, which is Sorcerer, and it was my choice this week, so I will take it away.
14:18.935 --> 14:20.296
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm fine, I'm fine.
14:20.336 --> 14:22.138
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just that you're so big.
14:22.378 --> 14:23.659
[SPEAKER_04]: It's so huge.
14:23.819 --> 14:25.941
[SPEAKER_04]: It's a good rule, but this is bigger than rules.
14:26.101 --> 14:27.402
[SPEAKER_04]: It's bigger on the inside.
14:27.682 --> 14:28.182
[SPEAKER_04]: Is it?
14:28.322 --> 14:28.863
[SPEAKER_04]: I noticed.
14:29.483 --> 14:33.605
[SPEAKER_02]: Sorcerer is a 1977 film directed by William Friedkin.
14:33.745 --> 14:41.869
[SPEAKER_02]: It is a remake of UnriGeorge Clusos, The Wage of Feet, The Wages of Fear from 1953, based on the book by the same name.
14:42.430 --> 14:50.834
[SPEAKER_02]: The movie starts in Vera Cruz, where a man in sunglasses named Nilo played by Francisco Rabal, walks into a hotel room and shoots another man.
14:51.294 --> 14:54.936
[SPEAKER_02]: Before you can get a handle on that, the movie rockets to juice Jerusalem.
14:55.336 --> 14:59.719
[SPEAKER_02]: where we see three men casually waiting for a bus, leaving a bag behind as they board.
15:00.180 --> 15:04.123
[SPEAKER_02]: As the bus drives away, the building they were sitting next to explodes.
15:04.423 --> 15:06.885
[SPEAKER_02]: They get to their hideout and discuss an exit plan.
15:07.025 --> 15:09.707
[SPEAKER_02]: The short way is dangerous the long way takes three hours.
15:10.207 --> 15:13.630
[SPEAKER_02]: They choose the long way packing dynamite and other weapons, but it's not long.
15:14.150 --> 15:17.274
[SPEAKER_02]: after that the Israeli police is hot on their tail.
15:17.594 --> 15:18.595
[SPEAKER_02]: Most of them get shot.
15:18.916 --> 15:25.223
[SPEAKER_02]: One gets arrested in another named Kasim, played by actor by an actor named Amidu, is left behind.
15:26.438 --> 15:36.360
[SPEAKER_02]: Then we go to Paris, where we see a woman discussing a non-fiction book she's writing with her husband, Victor, played by Bruno Cremair, and it looks like they're celebrating their 10th anniversary.
15:36.560 --> 15:41.461
[SPEAKER_02]: Victor leaves and we see him in a meeting in a stock exchange, where he's being accused of fraud.
15:41.961 --> 15:48.343
[SPEAKER_02]: He thinks paying the debt back will keep him out of trouble, saying his father-in-law can take care of it and offering a bribe.
15:48.603 --> 15:54.644
[SPEAKER_02]: But the powers that be say they will continue to press charges unless he comes up with collateral by tomorrow.
15:55.204 --> 16:00.486
[SPEAKER_02]: He goes back to his company to talk to his partner, trying to convince him to talk to his father to bail them out.
16:00.966 --> 16:16.932
[SPEAKER_02]: It's pretty clear this guy's dad isn't going to go for it, and he meets with Victor at a restaurant to tell him so but to tell him so before walking back to his car and committing suicide, Victor tells the matter D to tell his wife he needed to attend to some business and leaves the restaurant.
16:18.270 --> 16:32.314
[SPEAKER_02]: Now we go to New Jersey where we meet Scanlin, played by Rob Schneider, played by Roy Scheider, who seems to be casing a Catholic church where an Italian mob wedding is taking place.
16:32.914 --> 16:43.477
[SPEAKER_02]: Tons of money is being counted in a back room where Scanlin and a bunch of other guys and sunglasses come in to rob it, and they shoot one of the money counters, who just happens to be the mob boss's brother.
16:44.017 --> 16:50.722
[SPEAKER_02]: During the getaway the robber start fighting with each other over some stupid shit and scanlin the driver of the car gets distracted.
16:51.103 --> 16:53.544
[SPEAKER_02]: They crash into a delivery truck and flip over.
16:54.005 --> 16:58.068
[SPEAKER_02]: Scanlin appears to be the only survivor but the cop show up and Scanlin runs away.
16:58.528 --> 17:07.195
[SPEAKER_02]: He collapses in the middle of the street where cop finds him bloodied and with lots of loose money on his person but I guess he simply take into a hospital and left to his own devises after that.
17:07.792 --> 17:10.954
[SPEAKER_02]: The mob boss finds out about Scanlin in order's his death.
17:11.254 --> 17:15.777
[SPEAKER_02]: A buddy tells Scanlin he can get him a passport for the remaining $2,000 he has.
17:16.358 --> 17:27.645
[SPEAKER_02]: After giving him a series of directions where the ultimate destination is unknown, we are taken to a nameless, impoverished dictator-run central-american country where greedy oil barons have taken over.
17:28.933 --> 17:39.042
[SPEAKER_02]: Kasem is now going by Martina's and is working to construct an oil pipeline and we see how dangerous the work is when the pipe crashes into one of the workers and he starts bleeding out.
17:39.442 --> 17:44.086
[SPEAKER_02]: We see Victor, now named Serrano, also working for the oil company in a different place.
17:44.607 --> 17:49.371
[SPEAKER_02]: Scanlan going by Dominguez has some sort of shit job unloading cargo from planes.
17:49.951 --> 17:55.197
[SPEAKER_02]: And not long after, we see a dirty ass plane flying to town and everyone watches it with anticipation.
17:55.658 --> 18:02.465
[SPEAKER_02]: One of the passengers is Nilo, the assassin from the first part of the movie, who tells the customs agent he's in transit.
18:02.746 --> 18:06.009
[SPEAKER_02]: He clearly has some money, definitely more than most who live here.
18:06.950 --> 18:19.923
[SPEAKER_02]: Both Kassum and Victor are looking to get the fuck out of this place, and not long after we see Scanlan and a bar looking longingly at a Coca-Cola ad with an illustration of a pretty lady on it, but getting the hell out of here costs lots of money.
18:20.383 --> 18:24.167
[SPEAKER_02]: Victor can't even secure a ticket out of here by Hawking is 10th anniversary watch.
18:24.647 --> 18:30.233
[SPEAKER_02]: Victor arrives at the bar and strikes up a conversation with Scanlan, who appears to know he used to be a banker of some sort.
18:30.833 --> 18:35.339
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, the local cops come in and ask Cameron questions, asking for an identity card.
18:35.700 --> 18:40.446
[SPEAKER_02]: It's pretty clear the identity card is false, and he soon arrested for violating immigration laws.
18:40.926 --> 18:45.272
[SPEAKER_02]: He's taken to a jail, where apparently they don't want to keep him, but shake him down.
18:45.672 --> 18:47.855
[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever money he makes, he has to give them 33%.
18:49.723 --> 19:04.727
[SPEAKER_02]: Somewhere near an oil-deric and explosion rocks the place, it appears to be the work of terrorists, but the government is being told it's an accident because terrorists who blow up oil wells in the country are turned into heroes, and the dictator can't be seen chasing after patriots.
19:05.287 --> 19:18.790
[SPEAKER_02]: The oil company represented by a man named Corlet, played by it Ramon Beary, has only one concern, getting 160,000 barrels distributed by the end of the month, which will be difficult with the just exploded well on fire.
19:20.611 --> 19:25.635
[SPEAKER_02]: In the next scene, we see trucks delivering the dead to the townspeople who are in a frenzy rage.
19:25.815 --> 19:28.057
[SPEAKER_02]: Some bodies are charred beyond recognition.
19:28.197 --> 19:36.745
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not long before they start exacting revenge on the men in the truck, quickly getting into fights and dousing the truck with gasoline before setting it on fire.
19:37.225 --> 19:42.409
[SPEAKER_02]: Even the lawmen who come in get physically removed from their horses, the town has fucking had it.
19:43.230 --> 19:49.977
[SPEAKER_02]: Corlet flies out to remote area where there are some dangerous crates full of dynamite that they will use to stop the raging fire.
19:50.518 --> 19:54.802
[SPEAKER_02]: Every action taken by the man opening the crates is done with an abundance of care.
19:55.263 --> 20:05.394
[SPEAKER_02]: When he gets the slightest amount of nitro glycerin on him, he carefully goes out into the jungle to sling it off and it causes just a minor explosion, but enough to know that a lot of it is a problem.
20:05.934 --> 20:10.959
[SPEAKER_02]: It considers it worthless because of how old the dynamite is and how much of the liquid has seaped out.
20:11.500 --> 20:13.582
[SPEAKER_02]: It makes it far too dangerous to transport.
20:13.882 --> 20:15.845
[SPEAKER_02]: And the fire is 200 miles away.
20:16.225 --> 20:18.868
[SPEAKER_02]: The desperate correlates says challenge accepted.
20:19.568 --> 20:28.338
[SPEAKER_02]: After getting bad news about the uselessness of shock mounting the crates on a helicopter because of turbulence, correlates goes into town to interview potential truck drivers.
20:28.778 --> 20:36.085
[SPEAKER_02]: the company can't open back up for employment until this job gets done and they dangle exceptional wages for this particular mission.
20:36.585 --> 20:39.928
[SPEAKER_02]: Only four will be hired at a rate of 8,000 pesos.
20:40.189 --> 20:46.515
[SPEAKER_02]: I have they've changed it back and for the amount on this 8,000 pesos and 1977 still doesn't sound enough for this, but
20:50.438 --> 20:50.878
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
20:50.938 --> 20:53.239
[SPEAKER_02]: They change the totals.
20:53.279 --> 20:55.300
[SPEAKER_02]: They say $8,000 sometimes.
20:55.340 --> 20:58.302
[SPEAKER_02]: They say $10,000 that change is a little bit.
20:58.942 --> 21:00.723
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, not a big deal.
21:00.783 --> 21:02.283
[SPEAKER_02]: It's apparently enough for them to do this.
21:02.924 --> 21:10.627
[SPEAKER_02]: The tryouts are conducted by placing a bottle full of liquid on the dash and seeing how much it jossles around while driving very shitty trucks.
21:11.127 --> 21:17.490
[SPEAKER_02]: The three main characters, plus an older German guy with the fake name Mark Kez, played by Carl John, are chosen.
21:18.668 --> 21:25.111
[SPEAKER_02]: After a truck maintenance montage, they now need to load the crates using a pulley system where the crates are hooked onto some ropes.
21:25.551 --> 21:29.333
[SPEAKER_02]: This is done wordlessly and carefully, and it sets this movie's tone perfectly.
21:29.853 --> 21:32.834
[SPEAKER_02]: They are positioned into some sand to help prevent some shaking.
21:33.275 --> 21:43.059
[SPEAKER_02]: We find out that two trucks will be carrying three cases each, and considering the fire power, it's easily deduced that they are using two trucks in case one of them blows, which is probable.
21:43.599 --> 21:45.020
[SPEAKER_02]: Victor tries to negotiate.
21:45.620 --> 21:52.582
[SPEAKER_02]: Victor tries to negotiate double the pay and legal residents, but his only answer is you leave in four hours.
21:53.343 --> 22:02.006
[SPEAKER_02]: Kasim tries to find the old German dude, only to find he's been murdered quite apparently by the assassin Nilo who wanted that guy's place for some reason.
22:02.526 --> 22:04.567
[SPEAKER_02]: It seems they have no choice but to let him.
22:04.947 --> 22:08.288
[SPEAKER_02]: Skandland departs in a truck called Lazaro with Nilo.
22:08.668 --> 22:13.929
[SPEAKER_02]: They get a 15 minute head start so that the redundant truck called Sorcerer can officially go.
22:14.430 --> 22:19.211
[SPEAKER_02]: Victor goes Corelet, a letter sent to his wife in Casey dies, and he takes off with Kasim.
22:19.771 --> 22:23.052
[SPEAKER_02]: These trucks will now navigate muddy, rocky, hilly terrain.
22:23.968 --> 22:33.094
[SPEAKER_02]: the first obstacle is driving over narrow paths with cliffs where the left tires have to basically drive halfway on the edge, damaging the path as it goes.
22:33.775 --> 22:39.579
[SPEAKER_02]: Then people who have no idea what the danger is become obstacles in the road.
22:39.699 --> 22:45.303
[SPEAKER_02]: A man runs in front of it and then runs to the back being playful while completely misunderstanding the situation.
22:45.943 --> 22:56.729
[SPEAKER_02]: In the next scene, we see Victor and Castle met a rickety bridge with tight corners that has obviously been damaged by the previous truck with a note on a map left behind that says Good Luck, Serano.
22:57.389 --> 23:02.392
[SPEAKER_02]: After an argument, Castle ends up being the driver while Victor gives directions from the outside.
23:02.932 --> 23:07.195
[SPEAKER_02]: Things go swimmingly for a bit until one of the tires crashes through a week board.
23:07.635 --> 23:11.377
[SPEAKER_02]: The crates don't blow up, but now they have to get this truck on stuck.
23:11.877 --> 23:16.820
[SPEAKER_02]: Victor Beckins cast him forward, which he does not want to do, but realizes there's no other choice.
23:17.401 --> 23:24.345
[SPEAKER_02]: After some struggle, the front tire finally gets level with the bridge, despite some more damage at the end of it, the truck makes it through.
23:25.266 --> 23:33.131
[SPEAKER_02]: Onto the jungle terrain where a downpour is underway, they come to a crossroads where Dennis Nedry broke the sign and Jurassic Park.
23:36.710 --> 23:38.591
[SPEAKER_02]: They only have no idea where to go.
23:39.131 --> 23:46.394
[SPEAKER_02]: They ask a wanderer inside the jungle where Poza Rica is, but they don't get any real answer other than Poza Rica is dead.
23:46.974 --> 23:51.496
[SPEAKER_02]: Victor and Kasim catch up until Scanlin that they're going down the wrong road.
23:51.976 --> 23:57.218
[SPEAKER_02]: Scanlin thinks that the road they're on will be better because the so-called correct road goes through a swamp.
23:57.798 --> 24:01.500
[SPEAKER_02]: Victor argues that they have no idea where that other road leads.
24:01.980 --> 24:07.523
[SPEAKER_02]: When Scanlan suggests you go your way and we'll go ours, Victor certainly says we follow the map.
24:07.844 --> 24:13.707
[SPEAKER_02]: They go down the road and find a bridge going over a raging river that is completely unsuitable over what they need to do.
24:14.147 --> 24:17.269
[SPEAKER_02]: It's beyond repair with holes through the center in many places.
24:17.649 --> 24:23.132
[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't look like it could carry their weight, and it's held up by very loose ropes that cause the bridge to sway.
24:23.692 --> 24:30.734
[SPEAKER_02]: Nilo tries to run, but Scanlan tackles him and tells him that they're going across, with Nilo guiding him because it can't be done alone.
24:31.335 --> 24:37.657
[SPEAKER_02]: So begins a slow drive over this bridge and a downpour, with Nilo inspecting each step of the way to help navigate.
24:38.157 --> 24:42.058
[SPEAKER_02]: At one point the truck gets to a spot where it starts swaying ever so slightly.
24:42.559 --> 24:51.902
[SPEAKER_02]: After a tense drive, they make it to the other side and Scanlan tells Nilo he doesn't think the other team has a chance of making it, thinking they'll get twice their share when this is all over.
24:52.742 --> 24:57.668
[SPEAKER_02]: The other team takes the same tactic, though, with Victor driving and Casem doing the navigating.
24:58.249 --> 25:03.296
[SPEAKER_02]: At some point, Casem steps on a board that falls completely through and is barely able to hold on.
25:03.736 --> 25:06.300
[SPEAKER_02]: But Victor doesn't seem to see Casem and keeps going.
25:06.480 --> 25:08.823
[SPEAKER_02]: Just as he's about to run him over, Victor stops.
25:09.063 --> 25:31.337
[SPEAKER_02]: Disaster-reverted except now it seems the river has brought a huge pile of broken branches into the bridge trapping them and this by the way If you're watching the movie called sorcerer seems like a sorcerer type of scene like that's like a true horror movie moment when these branches show up on the bridge and Like enclose them and everything
25:32.497 --> 25:39.863
[SPEAKER_02]: Victor pulls out a machete to cut down the branches, walk a castle, retrieves the wench to wrap around a stump, just past the end of the bridge.
25:40.003 --> 25:45.306
[SPEAKER_02]: The truck now digging hard into the boards of the bridge, makes an even more treacherous drive.
25:45.466 --> 25:47.828
[SPEAKER_02]: The truck's windshield becomes nearly opaque.
25:48.288 --> 25:52.992
[SPEAKER_02]: The tire start losing traction as the ropes of the bridge start to get afraid and are about to snap.
25:53.532 --> 26:07.405
[SPEAKER_02]: Just as the rope breaks, the truck makes its final lunge to the other side, but before we see if they make it or not, the movie cuts away to show a Scanlon and Nilo, who have run into a real obstacle, a giant tree that has fallen down and is completely blocking the path.
26:07.966 --> 26:17.495
[SPEAKER_02]: Scanlon thinks they can chop down eight trees using machetes and go around the field tree to which Nilo replies by pulling out a gun and shooting it just past Scanlon.
26:18.248 --> 26:25.774
[SPEAKER_02]: Scanlon tries to pitch his idea, pitch this idea to Victor and Cassum when they arrive, but it's rightfully asked, how would you clear out the trees?
26:26.114 --> 26:27.415
[SPEAKER_02]: How would you get past the stumps?
26:27.875 --> 26:31.378
[SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't matter, Scanlon starts aimlessly hacking everything inside.
26:31.878 --> 26:37.663
[SPEAKER_02]: Eventually he realizes the madness, but then a miracle, Cassum thinks he can clear the tree out somehow.
26:38.163 --> 26:39.003
[SPEAKER_02]: So what happens?
26:39.364 --> 26:46.147
[SPEAKER_02]: Casem cuts a hole in the tree, and the other is car of three large branches that will be all be stacked around the tree to form a support.
26:46.607 --> 26:48.328
[SPEAKER_02]: In the next scene, they're looking for rocks.
26:48.528 --> 26:56.412
[SPEAKER_02]: One large one to fill the hole in the tree and a smaller one to be tied to a string held up by the support, which will suspend it over the bigger one.
26:56.952 --> 27:05.938
[SPEAKER_02]: They then need to find a big enough container that can hold enough sand to attach the smaller rock as a counterweight and to wedge into wedge into a support.
27:06.338 --> 27:11.521
[SPEAKER_02]: Cast some cuts out one of Nilo's pockets for that, hanging it on another support that stuck in the ground.
27:12.545 --> 27:19.450
[SPEAKER_02]: Now it's time to take out one of the crates full of dynamite after carefully removing the plastic wrap full of nitro from the crate.
27:19.811 --> 27:21.612
[SPEAKER_02]: They place it on top of the huge rock.
27:21.992 --> 27:24.754
[SPEAKER_02]: The others run away and drive the trucks to a safe distance.
27:24.955 --> 27:29.898
[SPEAKER_02]: Cast on fashions a tiny stick to poke into the bag of nitro so that it will leak into the rock.
27:31.619 --> 27:32.199
[SPEAKER_02]: to the rock.
27:32.299 --> 27:39.441
[SPEAKER_02]: He then pokes a hole into the counterweight, allowing the sand to start falling out slowly and giving him a chance to get the fuck out of there.
27:39.921 --> 27:45.962
[SPEAKER_02]: But he's also injured and he's also injured and running over uneven ground, so there's a lot of suspense as to whether he'll make it.
27:46.442 --> 27:54.644
[SPEAKER_02]: Finally, the sand sifts out enough to cause it to let go of the small rock, which measures into the bigger rock with the nitro and blows that treat as smithereens.
27:55.484 --> 28:01.471
[SPEAKER_02]: Now, on the final leg of the trip, they are clear of the jungle and driving down narrow roads with cliffs on both sides.
28:01.891 --> 28:05.776
[SPEAKER_02]: Things seem to have calmed down enough that Victor and Kasim are exchanging pleasantries.
28:06.196 --> 28:14.145
[SPEAKER_02]: Just as Victor shows Kasim his anniversary watch, the source of his front left-tire blows, causing the truck to rate redirect towards the cliff and fall.
28:14.806 --> 28:18.809
[SPEAKER_02]: causing the nitro to dislodge and slam into the back of the front seats.
28:19.149 --> 28:22.932
[SPEAKER_02]: The truck explodes, eventually Scanlan and Nilo comes across the wreckage.
28:23.112 --> 28:24.133
[SPEAKER_02]: The trouble isn't over.
28:24.233 --> 28:25.894
[SPEAKER_02]: They are confronted by bandits.
28:26.514 --> 28:34.300
[SPEAKER_02]: Nilo refuses to leave the truck, but they don't want to shoot him in the truck because they want to steal that, too, and they think it has supplies they can use.
28:35.235 --> 28:42.741
[SPEAKER_02]: When one of the bandits yell something after looking in the back of the truck, Nilo uses his uses this distraction to shoot and kill all the bandits in front of him.
28:43.161 --> 28:48.685
[SPEAKER_02]: Nilo gets shot himself, while the leader goes to help, Scanlan swings and acts into his neck.
28:48.885 --> 28:51.727
[SPEAKER_02]: Scanlan helps Nilo back into the truck and they move on.
28:52.148 --> 28:57.552
[SPEAKER_02]: And while Nilo imagines using the money to buy hookers, it's pretty clear he's not long for this world.
28:58.052 --> 29:01.694
[SPEAKER_02]: Scanlon continues to drive while flashing back to how he got here.
29:02.114 --> 29:08.478
[SPEAKER_02]: Eventually, Scanlon removes the dying Nilo from the truck and then he gets back in, only to find the truck broken down.
29:08.758 --> 29:11.459
[SPEAKER_02]: The odometer says he's got a little over a mile to go.
29:11.879 --> 29:16.502
[SPEAKER_02]: He starts making that relatively short but also long walk with one of the crates.
29:16.962 --> 29:26.047
[SPEAKER_02]: Extremely tired and days, he shows up to the burning well and is immediately surrounded by oil company workers who take the nitro from him before he collapses from exhaustion.
29:26.836 --> 29:34.039
[SPEAKER_02]: Scanlon gets helicoptered back to the town, at a bar, Corelet gives Scanlon a check for 40,000 bucks and a passport.
29:34.479 --> 29:38.361
[SPEAKER_02]: Corelet also gives him Victor's letter to his wife so he can mail it.
29:38.821 --> 29:44.903
[SPEAKER_02]: He goes over to the woman that apparently Victor was banging and has a dance with her for the apparent somewhat happy ending.
29:45.323 --> 29:51.606
[SPEAKER_02]: But, a taxi shows up with the Mott with the mob boss, Carlo Ricci, and the buddy who helped him leave the country.
29:52.267 --> 29:55.332
[SPEAKER_02]: as they walk into the bar, the movie ends.
29:55.712 --> 29:57.755
[SPEAKER_02]: Guys, what did you think of Sorcerer?
29:59.078 --> 30:00.059
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I didn't really care.
30:00.079 --> 30:00.540
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just kidding.
30:00.560 --> 30:01.441
[SPEAKER_03]: This movie rules now.
30:03.061 --> 30:13.873
[SPEAKER_03]: I love the ending, um, the ending to me is something more movies should emulate, not just the, is it a happy ending?
30:13.933 --> 30:22.982
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not, but the way they sort of leave it up to you to figure out what happens from there, even though could argue it's pretty obvious what's going to happen.
30:24.684 --> 30:26.585
[SPEAKER_03]: everything this dude has been through.
30:27.046 --> 30:29.407
[SPEAKER_03]: The movie is still not gonna let him get granted.
30:29.827 --> 30:31.148
[SPEAKER_03]: These are all evil people.
30:31.348 --> 30:39.033
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, it's a miracle that we're pulling for them at any people along the way because they're all terrible terrible people.
30:40.014 --> 30:43.015
[SPEAKER_02]: And on and on top of that, they're working for an
30:49.019 --> 30:55.064
[SPEAKER_03]: It's the magic of the movie that makes you root for them in spite of all of that.
30:55.925 --> 31:02.050
[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm, I think Roy Shrider probably gets some credit to for being a kind of magnetic actor that can draw you in.
31:03.992 --> 31:10.716
[SPEAKER_03]: Between your small recommend, which I'm definitely going to watch now, and this just bring me more movies with less dialogue.
31:10.896 --> 31:17.801
[SPEAKER_03]: Bring me more movies that like he was freaking was trying to use his little dialogue as possible in this movie.
31:18.261 --> 31:21.983
[SPEAKER_03]: And you can tell it, but the script was only like 50 pages.
31:23.744 --> 31:31.369
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's a masterclass in show, don't tell, and how the visuals can create the tension.
31:31.409 --> 31:32.630
[SPEAKER_03]: You'd mention that pulley scene.
31:33.250 --> 31:42.480
[SPEAKER_03]: where they're moving the nitro into the trucks, and that is tense as fuck, but I also love the contraptions.
31:42.520 --> 31:47.985
[SPEAKER_03]: I saw the chat talking about this a little bit, but there's so much engineering, cool engineering stuff in this movie.
31:48.326 --> 31:50.108
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the the the truck.
31:50.728 --> 31:59.393
[SPEAKER_03]: building montage is outstanding where they have to pull pieces from dozens of different trucks and put them together to make two workable trucks.
31:59.953 --> 32:15.842
[SPEAKER_03]: The pully thing they create, that tree explosion sand dropping nitrody rock and it's like watching somebody said McGyver in the chat, it's like watching, you know, Mr. Science or something while you're being thrilled by a really tense movie.
32:17.063 --> 32:34.288
[SPEAKER_03]: There's one question I have and maybe you guys can answer it, but somehow Serano's truck gets in front of Jackie's at the downed log so that when they go to drive off against Serano's truck is in front and I don't know how that could have happened.
32:34.828 --> 32:37.088
[SPEAKER_03]: I rewound it a little bit to try and figure out.
32:37.108 --> 32:38.549
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that might have cut a scene or something.
32:38.949 --> 32:42.470
[SPEAKER_02]: My only guess on this is after they backed the
32:47.071 --> 32:51.255
[SPEAKER_02]: That one cut that truck got ahead of the other truck, but you're right.
32:51.355 --> 33:09.291
[SPEAKER_02]: They don't really have any explanation It was always the Lazarus truck that was ahead right during the whole thing and then somehow the source of our truck It ends up ahead for whatever reason we don't we aren't told maybe it doesn't matter at this point I don't know but yeah, I don't know.
33:09.311 --> 33:11.073
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have an official answer on that one.
33:11.173 --> 33:11.293
[SPEAKER_02]: No
33:11.733 --> 33:15.995
[SPEAKER_03]: I like that the movie is just harsh everywhere, right?
33:16.295 --> 33:30.001
[SPEAKER_03]: These are all people who look for an evil company, shit that the marriage happening in the church where the mobster is shot, the bride has a black eye like they zoom in to make sure you know this bride has been abused by her about to be husband.
33:30.041 --> 33:33.822
[SPEAKER_03]: Like everyone is getting shit in this movie.
33:35.603 --> 33:39.867
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, I really didn't, I only took like 12 notes because the movie was so and grossing.
33:40.367 --> 33:52.858
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, I wrote one, I wrote one cinema sim about how he asks for extra machetes before they leave because there's so much mud we're going to chop down half the jungle to cover up the mud.
33:53.518 --> 33:57.981
[SPEAKER_03]: And they never use machetes to chop down a jungle to cover up the mud in the whole day.
33:58.081 --> 33:58.822
[SPEAKER_03]: I never do that.
33:58.842 --> 34:01.663
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, they used the machetes, but none for that purpose.
34:01.803 --> 34:06.647
[SPEAKER_03]: And I was just pointed because I felt like that was check-offs chopped down the brush to cover up the mud.
34:06.687 --> 34:08.728
[SPEAKER_03]: And then they didn't feel like that.
34:09.737 --> 34:12.979
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, yeah, I mean, that's basically I loved it.
34:13.079 --> 34:14.180
[SPEAKER_03]: I loved it so much.
34:14.300 --> 34:19.243
[SPEAKER_03]: I want to watch the original because I know you guys have both said that that's just as good in its own way.
34:19.643 --> 34:30.370
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but yeah, I feel like I can see how this movie inspired directors that I was watching movies of in the 80s and 90s and
34:32.431 --> 34:33.952
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, not downs, really interesting.
34:34.032 --> 34:40.573
[SPEAKER_02]: And if you guys do end up watching the wages of fear, there are a lot of differences, obviously.
34:40.953 --> 34:47.895
[SPEAKER_02]: It's the basically the same movie, same problem that they're going through, whatever.
34:47.935 --> 34:51.916
[SPEAKER_02]: But the challenges are slightly different, slightly different.
34:52.076 --> 34:58.038
[SPEAKER_02]: And then, you know, you want, I know that a lot of people probably started watching this movie
35:01.699 --> 35:21.513
[SPEAKER_02]: I did it it it takes a forever for them to get to the actual trucks part of this the thing that the the movies known for and wages of fear is no different you'll be like wondering what the hell this movies about because it's it really gets into the the nitty gritty of the small town and the the economic
35:22.393 --> 35:49.508
[SPEAKER_02]: Issues going on and everything if if you want to these movies compliment each other in a pretty good way because like it wages a fear really kind of goes over The the the the life that these people are forced into when they're at this thing here It's kind of like well we're hiding out and we'll just take what we can get and Whatever and it doesn't really focus on the towns people that much, but like in wages a fear you really get a focus on all the towns people and everything anyway
35:51.089 --> 35:51.790
[SPEAKER_02]: what do you think Aaron?
35:52.270 --> 35:55.092
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love this movie as well.
35:55.573 --> 36:11.405
[SPEAKER_01]: I loved it even more this time through I you know was first going to talk about the the setup to this movie which is almost half the movie like it's you know it's 45 minutes before or at least before we're in the trucks
36:12.365 --> 36:18.808
[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, you mentioned that more movies need to have that kind of ending with, you know, a little more ambiguous.
36:19.348 --> 36:29.793
[SPEAKER_01]: I also think we have come to a place where the efficiency of storytelling has creeped in a little on the importance of character development and the importance of setting up themes and those kind of things.
36:29.953 --> 36:33.475
[SPEAKER_01]: And if you do it well, 45 minutes isn't going to feel like 45 minutes.
36:33.515 --> 36:35.156
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just going to feel like you're setting up these.
36:35.736 --> 36:47.586
[SPEAKER_01]: characters in their own vignettes, and I think movies could, modern movies could take a cue from this as well and give us a little more rounding out of the characters at the beginning.
36:49.247 --> 36:57.454
[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, I think this movie succeeds in many ways, but for me, mostly succeeds the
37:03.058 --> 37:12.607
[SPEAKER_01]: you can throw poverty in there, you can throw systematic inequality in there, whatever, which I think are like you said, even bigger parts of the original wages of fear.
37:13.828 --> 37:23.237
[SPEAKER_01]: You throw that stuff in, in desperation, according to this movie, and I think I find a lot of truth here, does not lead to positive outcomes.
37:24.418 --> 37:27.160
[SPEAKER_01]: The desperation leads to negative outcomes.
37:27.300 --> 37:33.703
[SPEAKER_01]: It leads to terrible choices, unethical choices, immoral choices, evil choices.
37:34.163 --> 37:45.569
[SPEAKER_01]: And how people get to desperation is certainly something worth exploring, but this movie is more interested in exploring what happens when people are at desperation.
37:46.049 --> 37:49.711
[SPEAKER_01]: And that goes from the opening vignettes all the way through the end of the movie.
37:50.575 --> 37:53.476
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and uh, I think it's it's really well done.
37:54.456 --> 37:57.297
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a how did they do that whole of fame movie?
37:58.257 --> 38:01.638
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you watch three or four of these set pieces.
38:01.698 --> 38:10.000
[SPEAKER_01]: It just go how and then you go to the trivia and you're like, okay, this is how and you're still going no no, but how like even after you
38:10.160 --> 38:12.782
[SPEAKER_01]: read what they did, you're like, how did nobody die?
38:13.083 --> 38:14.364
[SPEAKER_01]: How did you pull this off?
38:14.384 --> 38:23.011
[SPEAKER_01]: There's the whole thing about the crossing of the bridge was actually a second location because they had set the entire bridge up at the first location and the river dried up.
38:23.392 --> 38:24.913
[SPEAKER_01]: So they had to find another river.
38:25.053 --> 38:28.196
[SPEAKER_01]: And that river almost dried up as well, it was very shallow.
38:28.496 --> 38:35.462
[SPEAKER_01]: So then they had to create the storm using helicopters and water hoses and all of these things.
38:37.564 --> 38:45.769
[SPEAKER_01]: keeping it guarded because the local thought they were bringing the drought by doing this and so they were threatening to blow up the the stuff they were setting up.
38:46.790 --> 38:58.637
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just it's wild to read about the stuff that they had to do, you know, clearing the log, they actually had to hire like a code named explosive expert, you know, that it was like
38:59.437 --> 39:03.179
[SPEAKER_01]: Shady because they're explosive experts couldn't figure out how to blow up that tree.
39:04.760 --> 39:07.582
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, there's just there's just a lot of stuff like that.
39:08.102 --> 39:13.605
[SPEAKER_01]: And then the movie understands you know humor every once in a while too, you know the training scene is is very fun.
39:13.665 --> 39:16.547
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and just watching
39:17.467 --> 39:25.494
[SPEAKER_01]: The guy pulled the knob off of the, you know, the clutch, the shifter and not understanding how that, by the way, that would be me.
39:25.895 --> 39:29.458
[SPEAKER_01]: I would be so at a loss trying to shift and do all that stuff.
39:30.459 --> 39:35.263
[SPEAKER_01]: And then you add to that, you know, Rob Schneider being in the truck being like, you can do me.
39:41.611 --> 39:44.134
[SPEAKER_03]: I thought of that joke, that very joke.
39:44.254 --> 39:52.785
[SPEAKER_03]: When he said Rob Schneider on accident earlier, I'm going to say you can do it, and then I forgot an errands to my father picked it up, I picked it up.
39:53.843 --> 40:04.869
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you were saying, you know, you're talking about, you know, the how they did it and everything, the bridge apparently was as filmed, you know, you're like, how did they do it in the, you know, how are they doing it in the world of the movie?
40:05.470 --> 40:08.071
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's how they did it in the real world, apparently.
40:08.131 --> 40:16.436
[SPEAKER_02]: They, they, they, the, the, the challenges that were presented to them were the exact same challenges that were in the movie.
40:17.036 --> 40:26.610
[SPEAKER_02]: They had, of course, they had some things that tried to help with the safety of it all, but it still was a dangerous, as fuck thing to do.
40:27.071 --> 40:32.799
[SPEAKER_02]: And so, you know, you read through the trivia, and most of this is like,
40:33.720 --> 40:38.481
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, I hate William Friedkin so much, and stuff like that.
40:38.541 --> 40:52.965
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the one of the things too, he got off to a bad start because he wanted Steve McQueen, apparently to play this role, and Steve McQueen only would agree to it as long as Ali McGraw, his wife at the time, got
40:53.565 --> 40:54.426
[SPEAKER_02]: Got a part in it.
40:54.486 --> 40:57.988
[SPEAKER_02]: And there's not very many female parts in this movie.
40:58.508 --> 41:04.692
[SPEAKER_02]: So like I don't know what Steve McQueen was hoping maybe he was hoping he'd be Victor's wife or something.
41:04.752 --> 41:05.212
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
41:05.252 --> 41:06.493
[SPEAKER_02]: I guess that's a possibility.
41:06.553 --> 41:09.134
[SPEAKER_02]: But um, but I thought that was funny.
41:09.154 --> 41:11.556
[SPEAKER_02]: But like yeah, it's amazing.
41:12.056 --> 41:17.880
[SPEAKER_02]: Going back to the 70s and seeing how these directors got all this power.
41:18.740 --> 41:22.284
[SPEAKER_02]: And they were allowed to do anything they wanted.
41:22.485 --> 41:27.130
[SPEAKER_02]: And those were usually the movies that set them on a bad path afterwards.
41:27.170 --> 41:35.540
[SPEAKER_02]: Like William Freak and coming off of French connection and the exercises probably could have couldn't have gotten a bigger blank check to run to do this movie.
41:35.920 --> 41:37.923
[SPEAKER_02]: Even though it's going across the world and he's
41:38.423 --> 41:48.391
[SPEAKER_02]: spending a million dollars each time to try to get this bridge thing to work and all that other stuff They're just letting him do it because hey he got he got his two movies We'll just go ahead and let him do this stuff.
41:48.771 --> 41:55.537
[SPEAKER_02]: It's the same thing with Copa when he did his movies and he went and did that apocalypse now for like two or three years basically
41:56.738 --> 42:02.023
[SPEAKER_02]: it was Michael Camino after he did deer hunter and trying to do the heavens gate afterwards.
42:02.403 --> 42:08.269
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean it's so many times this this this you see this story over and over and over and over again in the 70s.
42:09.170 --> 42:13.194
[SPEAKER_02]: How these guys basically just couldn't be told no after a success or two.
42:13.314 --> 42:18.960
[SPEAKER_02]: So not surprising here that that source or was this movie for Freedgen.
42:19.561 --> 42:27.842
[SPEAKER_02]: the name of the movie is weird obviously I mean you barely if you're looking carefully you can see that the truck is named sorcerer but
42:28.538 --> 42:31.179
[SPEAKER_02]: Why is the whole movie called Sorcerer?
42:31.339 --> 42:45.022
[SPEAKER_02]: We don't know, and Freedkins is something like, it's that evil that draws you into the blah, blah, blah, whatever, it's a very weird and probably not true, you know, reason for the title.
42:46.142 --> 42:53.684
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just something that after the fact, you know, I feel like people saw the exorcist and they saw something made by the same director called Sorcerer.
42:54.204 --> 42:58.185
[SPEAKER_02]: That's exactly what they were expecting, and maybe that was a marketing thing at the beginning.
42:58.926 --> 43:16.749
[SPEAKER_02]: And they were like less, less draw these people in, but I don't know what they expected after after the beginning of the movie, like the very first shot of the movie makes you think it's going to be a harm movie, but then what then after that, right, you know, I mean you're going to get a bunch of people just walking out and demanding refunds because it's not a harm movie or what to do.
43:17.209 --> 43:25.958
[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, it's it's is funny watching the reading the trivia on this because we freaking did not make himself popular.
43:25.978 --> 43:35.247
[SPEAKER_03]: So imagine I mean the IMDB even says that when this went to theatrical paramount insisted every showing open with a three and a half minute overture.
43:36.046 --> 43:38.808
[SPEAKER_03]: musical overture that they wouldn't let anyone edit.
43:39.368 --> 43:41.450
[SPEAKER_03]: That's a weird thing in and of itself.
43:41.510 --> 43:44.732
[SPEAKER_03]: But imagine going to see this movie, you bought a ticket for sorcerer.
43:45.633 --> 43:47.374
[SPEAKER_03]: The movie starts and there's no picture.
43:47.394 --> 43:49.295
[SPEAKER_03]: You're here three and a half minutes of overture.
43:49.756 --> 43:54.159
[SPEAKER_03]: And then you get the opening four vignettes of this movie by like 20 minutes in.
43:54.179 --> 43:56.420
[SPEAKER_03]: You gotta be like, I'm getting the fuck out of here.
43:56.460 --> 43:57.301
[SPEAKER_01]: What the hell is this?
43:57.841 --> 43:58.641
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
43:58.701 --> 44:07.985
[SPEAKER_01]: I think the original, the problem with this title is, you know, as you've mentioned, varied, but it's also hard when the original has the perfect title.
44:08.025 --> 44:12.986
[SPEAKER_01]: Like wages of fear is the perfect title for this.
44:13.947 --> 44:19.889
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, there was, it was going to be a come-down of some sort, but yeah, Sorcerer is a little weird titleing for sure.
44:20.943 --> 44:27.814
[SPEAKER_02]: This is also, we've mentioned this before, this is also one of those all-time, what would have happened.
44:28.716 --> 44:33.964
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if it would have been a hit or not, but the movie came out, I believe, in June of 1977.
44:36.152 --> 44:40.456
[SPEAKER_02]: And Star Yars had not quite become a wide release yet.
44:40.516 --> 44:43.999
[SPEAKER_02]: It's weird thinking about movies being released this way back then.
44:44.119 --> 44:49.183
[SPEAKER_02]: Like big huge movies like Star Wars were given limited releases back in the day.
44:49.203 --> 44:51.145
[SPEAKER_02]: And then they'd expand.
44:51.165 --> 44:53.407
[SPEAKER_02]: I think they were still doing this even in the 80s.
44:53.867 --> 44:54.628
[SPEAKER_02]: Like E.T.
44:54.688 --> 44:58.331
[SPEAKER_02]: has a has a like a limited release and then it goes wide later.
44:58.891 --> 44:59.071
[SPEAKER_02]: But.
44:59.912 --> 45:09.820
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, uh, there was like, uh, you know, the people coming to see this movie, uh, in June, like it was, it didn't do that much.
45:09.920 --> 45:18.967
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think there's, there's like story about Gramman's Chinese theater or whatever, talking about like how, like, you know, they played this and they just made no money.
45:19.027 --> 45:21.148
[SPEAKER_02]: And they just like, let's get Star Wars back in here.
45:21.188 --> 45:23.770
[SPEAKER_02]: My god, we need to get Star Wars back in here.
45:23.830 --> 45:25.031
[SPEAKER_02]: So, Sorcerer,
45:26.172 --> 45:43.166
[SPEAKER_02]: that really came out at the exact wrong time, it just, it, it makes me wonder what would happen if it had come out before or if it even, like, I don't know what point, I was barely alive when all of this was going on.
45:44.207 --> 45:51.893
[SPEAKER_02]: at what point could you have come out with this movie because Star Wars would have been a phenomenon all the way through the year in fact it would have gone into the next year.
45:52.493 --> 45:56.616
[SPEAKER_02]: So is there a is there a chance for this movie at all once Star Wars comes out?
45:56.676 --> 46:02.801
[SPEAKER_02]: That's a big question but at the same time you can clearly point to it and say it certainly didn't help.
46:03.161 --> 46:06.182
[SPEAKER_02]: this movie's fortunes that Star Wars was out at this time.
46:06.602 --> 46:13.904
[SPEAKER_01]: It was funny, I was telling somebody who was watching with me, you know, the story of what happened off the top of my head.
46:14.324 --> 46:18.285
[SPEAKER_01]: And I said it was jaws that had overtaken, you know, sorcerer, whatever.
46:18.785 --> 46:22.666
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I'm sitting there thinking, wait, that's also Roy Scheider.
46:22.686 --> 46:23.606
[SPEAKER_01]: It's jaws.
46:23.666 --> 46:25.546
[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't really have two movies out of it.
46:25.566 --> 46:27.387
[SPEAKER_01]: So then I looked at, oh, no, it was Star Wars.
46:27.427 --> 46:27.567
[SPEAKER_01]: That's
46:33.509 --> 46:55.171
[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, and getting back to Steve McQueen too, like I think Friedkin wanted after he couldn't get McQueen, he tried to get like Jack Nicholson and somebody else big for this and by the end of it, like of course he couldn't get those guys, they didn't want to travel and I'm sure I don't know if they would have been able to put up with all the stuff that was going on on the set, but I don't know if they would have been able to put up with all the stuff that was going on on the set, but I don't know if they would have been able to put up with all the stuff that was going on on the set, but I don't know if they would have been able to put up with all the stuff that was going on on the set, but I don't know if they would have been able to put up with all the stuff that was going on on the set, but I don't know if they would have been able to put up with all the stuff that was going on on the set,
46:56.474 --> 47:00.996
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, you know, so Roy Scheider's coming in as his like fifth six.
47:01.116 --> 47:04.077
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe even we'll want that way past that choice.
47:04.157 --> 47:06.877
[SPEAKER_02]: And like they didn't, they didn't get along at all.
47:06.917 --> 47:08.898
[SPEAKER_02]: They had worked together on the French connection.
47:09.618 --> 47:13.039
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think Freakon said something like, Oh, he was a different person then.
47:13.079 --> 47:16.701
[SPEAKER_02]: And then I think Jaws made him, uh, made him impossible to work with.
47:16.741 --> 47:20.182
[SPEAKER_02]: But who knows, it sounds like Freakon was kind of impossible to work with.
47:20.222 --> 47:20.942
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, we love it.
47:21.062 --> 47:25.143
[SPEAKER_02]: Somehow, some way makes a really good movie out of all this nonsense.
47:25.243 --> 47:26.744
[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, who am I?
47:26.764 --> 47:30.905
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, Hollywood's history is littered with assholes that make amazing movies.
47:31.525 --> 47:34.646
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so maybe he's just another, along the line.
47:35.127 --> 47:39.668
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think his history is a full of jerks that do amazing things.
47:40.028 --> 47:44.870
[SPEAKER_01]: Outside of even the cinema industry, like, you know, humanity has its way.
47:45.090 --> 47:45.230
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
47:45.988 --> 47:54.821
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, all right, let's get on to our Super Secret Double Feature Be very very quiet secret watch secret.
47:54.861 --> 47:56.523
[SPEAKER_02]: I'll tell you a little secret.
47:56.584 --> 47:57.285
[SPEAKER_02]: I'll tell you something.
47:57.345 --> 47:58.226
[SPEAKER_05]: I've never told anyone
48:01.292 --> 48:01.993
[SPEAKER_02]: who wants to go first.
48:03.034 --> 48:04.536
[SPEAKER_03]: I have him gone first.
48:04.776 --> 48:08.160
[SPEAKER_03]: Aages, because it usually results in me stealing someone's thunder.
48:08.220 --> 48:09.562
[SPEAKER_03]: So let's hope that doesn't happen.
48:09.762 --> 48:11.484
[SPEAKER_03]: I have a list of 10 movies here.
48:11.504 --> 48:11.984
[SPEAKER_03]: No.
48:13.266 --> 48:14.948
[SPEAKER_03]: And let's be honest.
48:15.108 --> 48:16.830
[SPEAKER_03]: This is not an easy movie for me.
48:17.751 --> 48:18.812
[SPEAKER_03]: to double feature.
48:18.912 --> 48:22.517
[SPEAKER_03]: It's so singular in what it is and what it's trying to be.
48:23.838 --> 48:27.082
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not going to find an easy, oh, this is like that.
48:28.384 --> 48:34.331
[SPEAKER_03]: But I was so impressed by the engineering two or three different times in this movie.
48:34.351 --> 48:34.491
[SPEAKER_03]: The
48:35.372 --> 48:46.218
[SPEAKER_03]: the cleverness and building a contraption, and then you add in strangers who maybe don't like each other, having to work together to survive a situation, and I went with flight of the Phoenix.
48:46.898 --> 48:54.302
[SPEAKER_03]: And you can just add one, but I'm most familiar with the one that has Dennis Quaid and Giovanna Reppesian.
48:54.382 --> 48:55.542
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
48:56.043 --> 48:57.123
[SPEAKER_03]: I had a lot of other thoughts.
48:57.163 --> 48:58.764
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not going to say any until Aaron's gone.
48:59.364 --> 49:04.047
[SPEAKER_03]: But do you, by the way, just as an aside, do you like that flight of the Phoenix?
49:04.867 --> 49:05.308
[SPEAKER_03]: It's okay.
49:05.448 --> 49:07.511
[SPEAKER_03]: I've seen the dentist grade one twice.
49:08.432 --> 49:10.054
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm I've never seen the original.
49:10.114 --> 49:14.019
[SPEAKER_02]: I've seen the remake I don't remember liking the remake all that much, but
49:15.022 --> 49:20.525
[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like I would appreciate it now more if I watched it now, but I original's better.
49:22.327 --> 49:27.990
[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, I just figured I didn't want to put you through another two hours of tension.
49:28.230 --> 49:33.433
[SPEAKER_03]: Like this flight of the Phoenix is not tense for moment one all the way through.
49:33.454 --> 49:34.294
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
49:34.334 --> 49:35.915
[SPEAKER_03]: Do you think there are enough parallels there?
49:36.635 --> 49:37.176
[SPEAKER_03]: So that's what I want.
49:37.576 --> 49:37.776
[SPEAKER_01]: Aaron.
49:37.916 --> 49:38.157
[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
49:38.537 --> 49:39.018
[SPEAKER_01]: Very nice.
49:39.418 --> 49:40.619
[SPEAKER_01]: That's that's all my list of shame.
49:40.659 --> 49:42.942
[SPEAKER_01]: I really need to to see probably both of those.
49:43.483 --> 49:46.326
[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, I just are there three flight of the Phoenixes?
49:46.406 --> 49:48.168
[SPEAKER_01]: There's one and 84 as well.
49:48.188 --> 49:50.070
[SPEAKER_01]: We've been a TV movie.
49:50.110 --> 49:50.790
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I could have been.
49:50.851 --> 49:50.891
[SPEAKER_01]: I-
49:53.682 --> 49:56.864
[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of went on vibes with this one a little bit.
49:57.825 --> 50:03.208
[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's something so great about watching a movie that has you on the edge of your seat.
50:03.428 --> 50:04.269
[SPEAKER_01]: Holds your attention.
50:04.309 --> 50:06.830
[SPEAKER_01]: You just wonder if the goal is going to be accomplished.
50:07.190 --> 50:10.673
[SPEAKER_01]: Will they get through this and I have never felt that more.
50:11.333 --> 50:13.675
[SPEAKER_01]: than the border crossing scene in Sicario.
50:16.498 --> 50:34.555
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think there's some really interesting parallels to these two movies dealing with the themes of desperation and what you do to survive and those kind of characters and then again the tension of will they accomplish this goal will they do what they're trying to do.
50:35.875 --> 50:40.898
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, also it's one word, one word to S word, a lot of the same letters, you know?
50:41.078 --> 50:43.019
[SPEAKER_01]: You can you can just source the words.
50:43.099 --> 50:44.880
[SPEAKER_01]: In Korea, like they look the same.
50:44.920 --> 50:48.622
[SPEAKER_02]: That makes a great double feature, so, you know, that's the important.
50:48.862 --> 50:50.923
[SPEAKER_02]: Not the same amount of letters though, doesn't count.
50:50.963 --> 50:51.864
[SPEAKER_02]: Nice.
50:51.924 --> 50:52.224
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
50:52.724 --> 50:55.606
[SPEAKER_03]: I sat on jaws for a good boil.
50:56.866 --> 50:58.167
[SPEAKER_03]: Not just because of Roy Shiger.
50:58.267 --> 50:59.528
[SPEAKER_03]: I just thought this is a bit...
51:00.248 --> 51:12.942
[SPEAKER_03]: These two movies feel similar to me in people coming together to face crisis, but yeah, and I also thought about Munich for a good while.
51:12.962 --> 51:16.146
[SPEAKER_03]: Some of the reasons strangers coming together to accomplish the
51:20.290 --> 51:27.296
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think doing double features is probably my favorite part of doing this up a space.
51:27.356 --> 51:32.440
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, uh, next week home work, it'll be Jeremy's turn.
51:32.480 --> 51:35.203
[SPEAKER_02]: So Jeremy, what do we got for us next week?
51:35.583 --> 51:43.869
[SPEAKER_03]: Alright, next week we're going with the movie I have small recommended before on the show and it is a Vibes movie It is a comfort food movie for me.
51:44.369 --> 51:55.377
[SPEAKER_03]: It is a great soundtrack movie and it's Penstellers a secret life of Walter Mitty which is on Hulu and Disney plus Hulu plus Disney
51:57.598 --> 52:18.910
[SPEAKER_03]: And I've seen this movie four or five times showed it to my wife earlier this year I think that's when I ended up small recommending it on this show and I can't wait to discuss with you guys It's certainly a change of pace from sorcerer Tom and content So there you go guys
52:20.663 --> 52:21.383
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, have you seen it?
52:22.423 --> 52:23.164
[SPEAKER_02]: I have seen it.
52:24.104 --> 52:25.924
[SPEAKER_02]: I remember really, really liking this.
52:26.384 --> 52:26.944
[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't see.
52:26.984 --> 52:28.805
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I saw this in theaters.
52:29.765 --> 52:33.586
[SPEAKER_02]: And it had mixed to negative reviews when it came out.
52:34.466 --> 52:38.987
[SPEAKER_02]: And so I was like, I don't know, wait, I guess I'll wait for a video, whatever.
52:39.107 --> 52:39.807
[SPEAKER_02]: I watched it.
52:39.927 --> 52:42.487
[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, man, this is, I don't really like this.
52:43.027 --> 52:44.288
[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was really good.
52:44.408 --> 52:44.568
[SPEAKER_02]: So,
52:45.828 --> 52:47.489
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking forward to revisiting it.
52:47.649 --> 52:50.031
[SPEAKER_02]: It has been a while since I've seen it.
52:50.151 --> 52:53.933
[SPEAKER_02]: So I think when it first came out on video was when I first saw it.
52:54.053 --> 52:55.954
[SPEAKER_02]: So I mean, I'll look forward to see this.
52:55.974 --> 52:57.975
[SPEAKER_02]: I always like Ben Stiller's stuff, so.
52:58.496 --> 53:00.056
[SPEAKER_01]: I have a sneaking suspicion.
53:00.096 --> 53:01.797
[SPEAKER_01]: This one's going to jump in my estimation.
53:01.938 --> 53:04.419
[SPEAKER_01]: I had pretty mixed feelings about it the first time I saw it.
53:04.439 --> 53:06.940
[SPEAKER_01]: I remember really liking some of it.
53:07.041 --> 53:09.002
[SPEAKER_01]: Some of the scenes, some of the things that's dealing with.
53:09.522 --> 53:13.484
[SPEAKER_01]: And then feeling that it was a little bit disjointed that it was a little bit,
53:14.785 --> 53:22.808
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, could have been tightened up, but I have I have a sneaking suspicion I'm I'm going to fall in love with this movie this time through because it is it is it is definitely my kind of movie.
53:23.128 --> 53:30.251
[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, and yeah surprise Sean 10 and this movie and I don't know this type of things that just flies or drove over the whole thing.
53:30.271 --> 53:31.952
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly.
53:31.992 --> 53:35.073
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is a 52 on rotten tomatoes, but a 7.3 on IMDB.
53:36.914 --> 53:55.501
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think it's one of those movies that people have sort of discovered over the years like if you watch the eye if you looked at the IMDB when this movie first came out You probably saw like a six point two or six point three, but now that you look at it's great, you know, like a full point has gone up at this point All right, looks like we have time for one question
54:01.105 --> 54:01.645
[SPEAKER_04]: I am listening.
54:02.466 --> 54:03.126
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, let's see.
54:03.926 --> 54:15.750
[SPEAKER_02]: Funnily enough, movies you currently are used to, I did not, I did not, I did not, movies you currently are used to fall asleep too.
54:17.148 --> 54:18.448
[SPEAKER_03]: What do you got?
54:18.868 --> 54:31.031
[SPEAKER_03]: Man, I, when I was in middle school, I watched two movies Seaselessly, a candle shoe with Jodie Foster and the Muppets Take Manhattan.
54:32.291 --> 54:37.292
[SPEAKER_03]: And I used to fall asleep to the Muppets Take Manhattan when it was my turn to choose.
54:37.392 --> 54:40.253
[SPEAKER_03]: My brother and I shared a bedroom and when it was his turn to choose,
54:40.720 --> 54:42.822
[SPEAKER_03]: We usually fell asleep to the beach boy's greatest hits.
54:43.182 --> 54:46.525
[SPEAKER_03]: So, there ain't no muppets take my net in his mouth.
54:46.925 --> 54:47.546
[SPEAKER_01]: No, nice.
54:48.686 --> 54:51.249
[SPEAKER_01]: I think I simply wrote does not compute.
54:54.311 --> 54:59.996
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I've ever fallen asleep to a movie in that kind of way.
55:00.056 --> 55:06.341
[SPEAKER_01]: Certainly, I've fallen asleep at the theater, if I'm bored, or whatever, like that has happened, but not often.
55:06.812 --> 55:12.414
[SPEAKER_01]: But I certainly haven't put on a TV show or a movie while I'm going to sleep.
55:12.474 --> 55:16.255
[SPEAKER_01]: I always turn the lights out and turn out all the sounds and go to sleep.
55:16.535 --> 55:16.935
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
55:16.955 --> 55:23.897
[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's, it's, it's, it's, I guess people do that, but it's just not something I've, I've ever done.
55:23.917 --> 55:30.419
[SPEAKER_03]: So, please surprise how many people have something on or noise maker, like it's just too quiet.
55:30.819 --> 55:38.463
[SPEAKER_03]: for me personally, but also I have tonight as so quite just makes it louder for that.
55:38.703 --> 55:39.264
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, sure.
55:39.324 --> 55:40.404
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that makes sense.
55:40.985 --> 55:46.768
[SPEAKER_03]: And then there are, you know, we've got to countless people tell us that they turn on cinemas in the fields and fall asleep from them to playing.
55:46.868 --> 55:49.449
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I don't know how wide spread it is.
55:49.509 --> 55:50.770
[SPEAKER_03]: I totally get what you're saying.
55:51.230 --> 55:53.012
[SPEAKER_03]: that everybody doesn't do this.
55:53.152 --> 55:56.014
[SPEAKER_03]: And if you haven't, it probably seems really foreign.
55:57.295 --> 56:02.100
[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, for me, I like to have a little something audibly in the background.
56:02.220 --> 56:05.082
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that there's something about, I'm sorry, go ahead.
56:05.342 --> 56:07.764
[SPEAKER_01]: No, I just just said it reminds me of one of my favorite stories.
56:07.784 --> 56:13.149
[SPEAKER_01]: There was a young woman from our church, and we were eating lunch with her, my wife and I.
56:14.490 --> 56:28.602
[SPEAKER_01]: uh... she found out that i i did the voice of tv sins and she couldn't she was like no that's not that's not you that's not you and i was like it's me and i pulled it up and she's like oh my goodness and she looked at and my wife and she said i just need you to know i fall asleep to the voice of your husband and it is
56:34.385 --> 56:36.386
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's a thing.
56:36.486 --> 56:44.709
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't do this very often either, but there's something about when, you know, you watch something that you know very well.
56:45.369 --> 56:48.110
[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have to keep up with it and all that.
56:48.150 --> 56:50.711
[SPEAKER_02]: You just let it let it roll.
56:51.231 --> 56:54.632
[SPEAKER_02]: And then you don't have to do anything like for me, man.
56:54.792 --> 56:56.273
[SPEAKER_02]: It's great to just conquer out.
56:56.953 --> 57:02.854
[SPEAKER_02]: instead of like I am going to bed and I am going to sleep now that's usually not how it works for me.
57:02.874 --> 57:19.437
[SPEAKER_02]: I have to get after start watching things and then just and as I'm drooping I'll usually turn off the TV or whatever but that the idea of watching something that you're familiar with and you don't eat like okay I don't if I fall asleep during this
57:23.218 --> 57:29.984
[SPEAKER_02]: But I did do this, I recently did this with X-Markin'er.
57:31.786 --> 57:38.151
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a movie that really kind of puts you in this sort of, no, it's almost a dream-like mood.
57:38.552 --> 57:43.496
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a distant place, it's a very quiet movie for the most part of everything.
57:43.536 --> 57:45.518
[SPEAKER_02]: But I've done it with loud movies too.
57:45.538 --> 57:47.960
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I've done it with total recall.
57:48.060 --> 57:49.562
[SPEAKER_02]: I've done it with the Terminator.
57:50.423 --> 57:56.432
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, movies that I know, you know, total recalls a good one by the way, and since Dreamlike State.
57:57.274 --> 58:03.784
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but, but yeah, the movies that it's always been that type of thing, where it's like, okay, I've seen this movie 50 times.
58:05.590 --> 58:10.113
[SPEAKER_02]: I'll, you know, if I can't go out, I don't have to worry about turning the TV off.
58:10.153 --> 58:12.014
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have to worry about like anything else.
58:12.054 --> 58:18.777
[SPEAKER_02]: If I can't go out, I can't go out and it's great and that's sort of how that goes down a lot of times.
58:18.797 --> 58:24.961
[SPEAKER_02]: I totally understand though, the does not compute thing because that's me generally.
58:25.081 --> 58:31.725
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like to fall asleep to movies at all and whatever, but there you go.
58:32.881 --> 58:42.846
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, over in the chat, uh, looks like we have, where we have, uh, no one says a new hope or the fan of menace for me.
58:42.866 --> 58:47.089
[SPEAKER_02]: I would have a very hard time putting the fan of menace in for any reason.
58:49.050 --> 58:52.133
[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, teach his own, you know, a new hope would be a good one.
58:53.113 --> 58:53.534
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see.
58:56.416 --> 59:00.920
[SPEAKER_02]: Misree says, usually that Harry Potter or Marvel compilation videos.
59:01.000 --> 59:01.861
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, for cinemasins.
59:01.881 --> 59:04.703
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just talk about the cinemasins videos that you were just mentioning.
59:05.143 --> 59:06.385
[SPEAKER_02]: The people go fall asleep too.
59:08.186 --> 59:08.807
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see.
59:10.248 --> 59:12.430
[SPEAKER_02]: Lang's a street fighter legend of John Lee.
59:17.553 --> 59:20.695
[SPEAKER_02]: But most of you have your different ways of following a sleep.
59:20.775 --> 59:25.117
[SPEAKER_02]: As I'm all our brown noise, things like that I saw mentioned in this chat as well.
59:25.918 --> 59:28.359
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, that's going to do it for this week.
59:28.439 --> 59:30.280
[SPEAKER_02]: Next week is the secret life of Walter MIDI.
59:30.320 --> 59:34.003
[SPEAKER_02]: You can't wait to get into that movie again, but that's going to do it for this week.
59:34.023 --> 59:37.605
[SPEAKER_02]: Guys, thank you chat so much, appreciate you for coming out and watching us today.
59:38.546 --> 59:40.168
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, but that's all for today.
59:40.188 --> 59:40.769
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see you next time.
59:40.969 --> 59:41.610
[SPEAKER_02]: See you everybody.
59:41.630 --> 59:41.970
[SPEAKER_02]: Bye guys.
59:42.571 --> 59:44.233
[SPEAKER_03]: Bye.
59:44.353 --> 59:46.476
[SPEAKER_02]: There's a little dance for you.
59:46.516 --> 59:46.876
[SPEAKER_02]: Good bye.
59:51.762 --> 59:57.925
[SPEAKER_02]: The part of the live show by being a member of the Synclub at Patreon at patreon.com slash cinemasins.

[SPEAKER_02]: Chat with us on the cinemasins discord.gg slash cinemasins or cinemasins twitter at cinemasins.
01:00:05.127 --> 01:00:09.409
[SPEAKER_02]: Any mail, any comments or questions to recatopia at cinemasins.com.
01:00:09.469 --> 01:00:09.649
[SPEAKER_02]: That's
01:00:22.481 --> 01:00:29.226
[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, what's uh, what redford movie should I watch today in honor of, is passing?
01:00:30.126 --> 01:00:36.531
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, uh, so many, it was all I've already, of any time there's a celebrity death.
01:00:36.631 --> 01:00:42.855
[SPEAKER_02]: I get three different sources sending me either text or slacks or whatever.
01:00:43.095 --> 01:00:43.315
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
01:00:43.976 --> 01:00:48.379
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and it's just like a whole bunch of discussion between all these people.
01:00:48.439 --> 01:00:49.640
[SPEAKER_02]: But, um,
01:00:52.018 --> 01:00:54.905
[SPEAKER_02]: I got that's a tough one.
01:00:55.266 --> 01:00:57.813
[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking redford, which redford movie to watch today.
01:00:57.833 --> 01:01:00.079
[SPEAKER_01]: I would say the sting is the start.
01:01:01.247 --> 01:01:07.028
[SPEAKER_03]: I would go with, I would go straight to sneakers, but as I've already learned this morning, no streaming services has sneakers.
01:01:07.468 --> 01:01:07.889
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no.
01:01:08.369 --> 01:01:08.969
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's weird.
01:01:09.629 --> 01:01:15.250
[SPEAKER_02]: But, um, yeah, you would think that Peacock would have it since it's a universal movie.
01:01:16.551 --> 01:01:19.391
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's plenty I haven't watched.
01:01:19.511 --> 01:01:24.092
[SPEAKER_01]: What if you haven't, yeah, here are some of the big ones I haven't seen, uh, the way we were.
01:01:24.112 --> 01:01:25.333
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
01:01:25.853 --> 01:01:26.713
[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't seen that either.
01:01:27.053 --> 01:01:27.693
[SPEAKER_01]: spy game.
01:01:28.613 --> 01:01:29.154
[SPEAKER_01]: spy games.
01:01:29.214 --> 01:01:29.494
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
01:01:31.314 --> 01:01:38.441
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, the Discovery 2017, I don't know that one, uh, bridge too far in 1077.
01:01:38.702 --> 01:01:41.144
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
01:01:41.384 --> 01:01:44.627
[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't seen that movie in forever, and so I'll probably be talking out of my ass.
01:01:44.668 --> 01:01:47.270
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember that being a red-ford movie, quote, I don't know.
01:01:47.771 --> 01:01:48.792
[SPEAKER_01]: There's so many people in it.
01:01:49.252 --> 01:01:50.273
[SPEAKER_01]: This is probably the answer.
01:01:50.313 --> 01:01:51.174
[SPEAKER_01]: Jeremiah Johnson, 1972.
01:01:52.575 --> 01:01:58.699
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's, that's what gives you that meme that everybody thinks is that galvanical.
01:01:58.759 --> 01:01:59.100
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:01:59.640 --> 01:02:01.161
[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, that's Robert Redford.
01:02:01.341 --> 01:02:02.001
[SPEAKER_01]: What?
01:02:02.282 --> 01:02:03.943
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:02:04.063 --> 01:02:05.324
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's probably the answer.
01:02:05.364 --> 01:02:06.484
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, barefoot in the park.
01:02:06.685 --> 01:02:07.545
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even see that.
01:02:07.785 --> 01:02:11.168
[SPEAKER_02]: I've seen that one, but I don't remember it being like super gross.
01:02:12.448 --> 01:02:24.075
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that was like that was like Celine Dion had that huge Titanic song and then she had a huge song for up close and personal I think the following year.
01:02:24.315 --> 01:02:25.135
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I don't remember that.
01:02:25.215 --> 01:02:26.176
[SPEAKER_02]: That's funny man.
01:02:26.336 --> 01:02:28.077
[SPEAKER_02]: Is that because you loved me song
01:02:28.157 --> 01:02:30.419
[SPEAKER_02]: because you love me.
01:02:31.400 --> 01:02:37.004
[SPEAKER_01]: Chris, I can knock off a movie for Robert Redford and you at the same time.
01:02:37.024 --> 01:02:39.306
[SPEAKER_01]: And I have not seen the last castle.
01:02:39.426 --> 01:02:49.335
[SPEAKER_02]: So, I did make that joke earlier today where we were talking about talking with some movie friends about it.
01:02:49.355 --> 01:02:53.038
[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, well, I also co-starred with Robert Redford in the last castle.
01:02:54.078 --> 01:02:55.099
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
01:02:55.799 --> 01:02:56.419
[SPEAKER_02]: I saw him.
01:02:56.740 --> 01:03:00.621
[SPEAKER_02]: I saw him up close and personal.
01:03:00.701 --> 01:03:03.703
[SPEAKER_01]: And if he had wanted, he could have seen you up close at first.
01:03:03.803 --> 01:03:04.203
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
01:03:04.543 --> 01:03:05.284
[SPEAKER_01]: It's an exact.
01:03:05.304 --> 01:03:06.144
[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
01:03:07.185 --> 01:03:07.445
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
01:03:08.705 --> 01:03:11.246
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I mean, Jeremy saw it before I did.
01:03:11.346 --> 01:03:14.048
[SPEAKER_02]: Jeremy saw that I was in the movie before I did.
01:03:15.288 --> 01:03:18.110
[SPEAKER_02]: He told him, remember him telling me about it because I didn't get to see that.
01:03:18.930 --> 01:03:23.596
[SPEAKER_02]: You had the, you were Hollywood 27 when the movie came out, and I wasn't at any theater.
01:03:24.597 --> 01:03:34.748
[SPEAKER_02]: And you had the, you had the preview on the Thursday night or whatever, and I'm sure Josh and Jeremy and all of them were in that screening, but I didn't go.
01:03:35.669 --> 01:03:40.211
[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't go probably because I had at the time I had three different jobs.
01:03:40.851 --> 01:03:51.236
[SPEAKER_02]: That was extra on the last cast, although that was over by that point, but I also had that newspaper delivering thing that would take up my entire midnight to four o'clock or whatever.
01:03:53.076 --> 01:03:59.899
[SPEAKER_02]: And then I would sometimes work at a comic book store, but I remember Jeremy emailing me and saying,
01:04:03.759 --> 01:04:05.020
[SPEAKER_02]: And so yeah, I have a scene.
01:04:05.120 --> 01:04:08.241
[SPEAKER_02]: I share screen space with Robert Redford in the last castle.
01:04:08.881 --> 01:04:13.023
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know like time stamp on that or like relative?
01:04:13.603 --> 01:04:14.723
[SPEAKER_02]: I can get it to you.
01:04:15.904 --> 01:04:17.445
[SPEAKER_02]: Because I have the movie ripped.
01:04:18.185 --> 01:04:25.648
[SPEAKER_02]: I can go to that spot, but it's about midway because that's the scene where he's carrying rocks back and forth.
01:04:26.348 --> 01:04:51.976
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, on the wall they give him that punishment and and Redford talks to one of the guys and While they're talking we're this like a it's like a lunchbell or something I'm walking behind him in One scene and they even got the continuity right and they cut and I'm still behind him nice as the scene ends so Very cool
01:04:53.542 --> 01:05:11.718
[SPEAKER_03]: I like that movie, but I don't think I can be, I don't think it, I can be objective about like because you had your experience and you're in it and then I know Jeremy and he's in it and he has, he has lines and I just think it's too close to it to watch it objectively.
01:05:12.495 --> 01:05:23.082
[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of being objective, I know we're running out of time, but I didn't want to ask you Jeremy, your thoughts on the Emmys in Nate Bargazzi hosting the Emmys.
01:05:23.283 --> 01:05:25.564
[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't end up watching very much of it.
01:05:25.804 --> 01:05:36.572
[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm going to be honest, when I, the tune didn't when it started, and he was doing that for the third time, doing that skit he did on SNL with just different jokes.
01:05:36.972 --> 01:05:37.072
[SPEAKER_03]: And
01:05:38.273 --> 01:05:41.795
[SPEAKER_03]: Listen, Nate Barrogate is probably my favorite comic right now.
01:05:41.975 --> 01:05:48.179
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not trying to rag on him, but from an entertainment perspective, for me, I flip the channel right away.
01:05:48.259 --> 01:05:51.201
[SPEAKER_03]: I've already seen that skit twice.
01:05:51.381 --> 01:05:52.161
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't, I didn't.
01:05:52.922 --> 01:05:54.503
[SPEAKER_03]: And then I kind of got into something else.
01:05:55.503 --> 01:05:58.185
[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, flip back a few times to watch.
01:05:58.305 --> 01:06:00.266
[SPEAKER_03]: So I didn't really watch it that much.
01:06:01.066 --> 01:06:04.408
[SPEAKER_03]: But the clips that I've seen, it seems like he handled himself really well.
01:06:04.488 --> 01:06:05.149
[SPEAKER_03]: I have read some
01:06:07.230 --> 01:06:13.898
[SPEAKER_03]: charitable day day, donations bit, even though I think I have a problem with it.
01:06:14.539 --> 01:06:21.668
[SPEAKER_03]: But some people apparently thought it was unfunny or he went back to that well too many times for jokes.
01:06:21.708 --> 01:06:22.769
[SPEAKER_03]: Did you walk to ceremony?
01:06:23.450 --> 01:06:24.271
[SPEAKER_01]: I watched the whole thing.
01:06:24.311 --> 01:06:29.854
[SPEAKER_01]: There are enough shows that I love that were up for awards that you know, I was kind of interested.
01:06:29.874 --> 01:06:32.116
[SPEAKER_01]: I was surprised I watched the whole thing.
01:06:32.136 --> 01:06:36.999
[SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't planning to, but I was like, oh, how is the pit going to do?
01:06:37.079 --> 01:06:37.979
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's one of the greater.
01:06:39.320 --> 01:06:42.264
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I'm gonna be honest.
01:06:42.304 --> 01:06:43.785
[SPEAKER_01]: I think he I think he was terrible.
01:06:43.925 --> 01:06:50.512
[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of the worst toasting jobs I've ever seen really And I and I think it don't give me I love Nick.
01:06:50.692 --> 01:06:51.814
[SPEAKER_01]: I love his comedy.
01:06:51.914 --> 01:07:01.063
[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's great I think he was so far out of his element and just thought he could kind of show up and be himself and that was gonna be enough
01:07:01.764 --> 01:07:04.867
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, there's nothing, I shouldn't say nothing.
01:07:04.887 --> 01:07:09.651
[SPEAKER_01]: There are very few interesting things that he said or did.
01:07:09.851 --> 01:07:10.892
[SPEAKER_01]: It was just every break.
01:07:10.932 --> 01:07:13.195
[SPEAKER_01]: He would go, oh, let's take a look at the counterhouse.
01:07:13.235 --> 01:07:16.878
[SPEAKER_01]: The counter, I mean, every single time, it was the same joke.
01:07:16.898 --> 01:07:20.081
[SPEAKER_01]: So going back to the well, that is definitely it.
01:07:20.481 --> 01:07:25.506
[SPEAKER_01]: And I just don't think his style of persona works for that environment.
01:07:25.586 --> 01:07:27.388
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's somebody with a little more edge.
01:07:28.048 --> 01:07:32.992
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, and he is not ingratiated to that community in any way too.
01:07:33.072 --> 01:07:36.334
[SPEAKER_01]: So they don't have any benefit of, you know, enjoying him or whatever.
01:07:36.454 --> 01:07:42.398
[SPEAKER_03]: So, but they got like, yeah, one of the highest rated audiences like, well, because he's got such a huge audience.
01:07:42.438 --> 01:07:49.423
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, but yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they bring him back, even if all of Hollywood didn't enjoy him, if they get the reasons they want.
01:07:50.224 --> 01:07:54.894
[SPEAKER_02]: I know we're about to go to our bump here, but the timestamp for the last castle is 4133.
01:07:54.934 --> 01:07:55.274
[SPEAKER_02]: A nice 4133.
01:07:55.334 --> 01:07:58.240
[SPEAKER_02]: It might be a little bit before that, but that's where I paused it, so...
