New Jersey Devils GM Sunny Mehta (3:26) joins Nick Kypreos and Justin Bourne ahead of his team's season opener against the Flyers on Thursday. He discusses choosing New Jersey over Toronto, his team-building philosophy, expectations for the team this season, how his poker background helps on the analytics side, and much more. Later, Rob Brown stops by (25:55) following the Oilers' disappointing performance against the Canucks to open the season. They get into Tristan Jarry's shaky start, early impressions of Mike Babcock's presence behind the bench, Mark Messier's comments on the Babcock hiring, why this could be the year the Oilers win their division for the first time since 1987, and Evan Bouchard's opening-game statement. Finally, Nick, Justin and Sam McKee look back on the rest of the action around the league during the NHL's opening day.
