Quantum Dispatch: I've just sent you a a picture on WhatsApp. ⁓ this was this was me last night at half past ten. ⁓ It's bigger. Didn't know it could curve like that. Hello, good evening, and welcome back to the Quantum Dispatch. I am one of the co-hosts tonight of One Dark Nibra, and I'm joined by the beautiful Jack, aka Swanky Fisherman. Tonight we're talking about the Grey's Market Basher, we're talking about Xenothreat, we're talking football, we're talking football. Nah, just yeah. Everyone just leaves. This is a precursor. If we are we play on Wednesday. And if we go through, there will be no, I repeat, no podcast next weekend. Or if we go live next weekend and we're in the finals because we didn't manage to get something together for like a pre-record. But Swanky takes away, man. What have you been up to in the verse this week? Okay, so well, with I mentioned I have a child now. I don't know if I've mentioned this before. Someone may have heard something here or there. ⁓ haven't been in the bus as much as I would like to this week, although I have had a couple of chances to jump in. I've been getting to grip ⁓ yes, actually, I did do a play session with you guys, didn't I? You've got baby brain. I do, I absolutely do. I have no idea what day it is. ⁓ you're so lucky I turned up to this. If we didn't have a WhatsApp group and you remind me, I wouldn't be here. ⁓ But ⁓ yes, we had a play session where we did some of the Xenothreat missions, ⁓ which was a lot of fun. Not as buggy as I was expecting it to be from what everyone else was saying. Yes, sure, fine. Maybe the enemies didn't shoot back. Maybe maybe. But bug or opportunity for success. You know, call it what you will. You can reframe these things in your mind if you wish, you kumsi cum sa. ⁓ but no, it was good fun. Jumped in a ⁓ Perseus with it with a few people, ⁓ went flying around, did a f couple of the wave ones, which was good fun. ⁓ and ⁓ also got very lucky, as did our glorious GFA last week. that new patented stealth camo. Hell yeah, Gridamas, exactly. That's the whole reason why they couldn't see me. and ⁓ yes, I joined the four million AUBC ⁓ Kill the Idris one, ⁓ which I was definitely I was definitely at the mission and participating. Yes, yes. ⁓ and after I joined it, five minutes later when we just finished this one, we were genuinely thinking about going. ⁓ it finished and I was like, ⁓ that's cool. I checked my Moby class and it went two million to your account and sixty thousand rep. And there'd been an error because I saw it in the global chat. Everyone else had lost the mission and just got rid of it and hadn't had it complete for them. And me and one other person got to split the whole benefits of the whole mission. That's that's what happens. That's you eventually get submerged. People have been saying obviously the mission's been bugged and stuff, but I mean I've spent two nights on this. This is my Moby Glass here, and I've managed to accrue by helping other people as well almost two hundred and forty thousand points. And this is almost exclusively through the eighty eight K Defendership missions. So it's definitely within people's remit to get in the game and play ⁓ I'm father of three, I work a full time job, I do football coaching. Like, yeah, there's not much time I have. So when I do jump into the verse and it works, here we go. The eighty eight K ones are quite quick and easy to do as well, which I like the fact that there is an in for it of that level, because in some things past, if you wanted in some events, events or Sandbox activities that are permanent parts that aren't events, because I had someone get very upset with me on ⁓ Reddit once 'cause I said, I like this event when the Hathor mining laser came in. Hello, Hyperion, you gorgeous, beautiful ⁓ sorry, George. He is a gorgeous boy, isn't he? He is, he is. ⁓ you know, at least with this one, there's a kind of cool. If you want to do it, it's gonna take a bit longer and you've only got a few minutes to jump in and do it, you can do these smaller missions. Cool, that's great. If you want to do it and do a bit quicker and get to some friends, here's some bigger parts of the things. Great. You know, it means that they are tailoring to each sure. Is it the same as Xenothreat last year? No. I did enjoy the way they did Xenothreat last year and I do hope they bring it back that way. Although Devil's advocating myself here, the way they did it last year was a laggy, jumpy buggy mess for a lot of it. ⁓ sure yeah they cleaned it up and it started working well again. But it was yeah, it was difficult. ⁓ goodness I haven't played for two patches, I just can't face it until they fix the elevators. Yeah. Fair. So this is one of the eighty eight K missions. I just decided to like video it to see what what was gonna happen. because I was rolling through these pretty quick. Now I am in an ⁓ A T and it is equipped with dead bolts. That's literally it though. ⁓ Metal Directly to the point with the distress beacon. After you've done these missions maybe five or six times, you get to know the sort of delay of the land and you know roughly where they're gonna spawn in relation to to the asteroids and such. So you see I'm literally heading there, beaming, like laser beaming there, coming out of quantum mode, scan there you go, straight away, straight onto it. You're coming straight up, trying to get your marker. This point where people are I'm much better than you, man, but I said I have a full time job, I'm a dad of three. I I don't get much time to actually play. ⁓ but as you can see, the gladiators generally aren't moving. I think this one might might wake up in a minute. Depends which mission I record. Yeah, you go, he wakes up. But if I was a little bit quicker, which I have been on some of these missions, I've managed to wipe them out completely. So are they bugged? Yeah. Is the Moby Glass bugged? No. Are you able to complete the missions? Yeah. I mean you see it. Not getting the turn angle that I would want to see. I really want them to redo like Hello Trump mate. Not redo the ⁓ eighty, but I want a an sixty, I think, 'cause the ⁓ fifty is an interceptor. And sixty I'm presuming would be a light fighter, and then seventy would be a medium fighter with the ⁓ eighty being the heavy. So I'd like to see a bit more manoeuvrability. Mm. I think yeah, I agree. I think that's the whole reason why I did have an ⁓ A T. I had a look at it and I was like, This is nice, this is fun, I'll play around with it a little bit. Don't see myself using it that much. I like I like to be able to turn quite quickly and to zip around and be a little bit more maneuverable and agile. And similarly to the ⁓ F A C it's not quite not quite that level of zip zap, you know what I'm saying? You gotta have a bit of zip zap to your ship ship, otherwise you're gonna get shot up, you know what I'm saying? Shipshap. Shipshap, real terminology they use in space flight combat. Legit. You heard it here first, quantum dispatch. ⁓ about people in chat, what have you been Ooh, the Porkish Priest. I love that name so much. Talking of Ship Shap. Yes. Let's get let's get out of the main the main event. He's he's hit the nail on the head, the Porkish priest literally said from the measuring ⁓ from the measuring of the bashar. It looks to be either two size fours and a four size threes. Hey, Apocish priest. Let's have a wee look at the bash. Is that a crane on top, by the way? It looks like it, doesn't it? Let's close it. Can you hang that was about to sound really morbid, but I'm just gonna keep going with it. Can you hang a person from it? And just have them on the end of the crane. Just Why? Would you like to see what happens to those who cross David Jones? Not really if you're in charge. Let's put bodies everywhere. Now I've seen what people have been saying. ⁓ I don't necessarily think that I agree. So people have been saying there's like a Mustang Alpha ⁓ fuselage. I don't see that. I see more of like a a cutless black style design fuselage, but the it does look interesting like towards the front here ⁓ The engines apparently use it the Buccaneer engines. I'm not so sure. Well from from right, so is that crane gonna move, do you think, as well? Do you reckon it has a tractor beam on it? It's hard to say, isn't it? No, I wouldn't I wouldn't say so considering this this by the looks of things is supposed to be a fighter. I mean look, you've got you've got ⁓ are we not sick of you know, combat ships now. Just just a little bit. Let's start broadening the spectrum. Let's go back and having multiple types of like salvages and miners and I already have more than enough ships. Like if one at a time. Yeah, exactly. ⁓ more than enough like combat ships. Like I've got Perseus, I've got F seven A, I've got ⁓ F eight C I've got ⁓ Gladius, I've got a ⁓ Wolf ⁓ L twenty two ⁓ what number like What I would like is more interesting, multi-purpose ships that mean that I go, for example, one day I could go, I'm gonna do cargo in my galaxy when that comes out. Cool, today I'm gonna go do cargo in my Raylan. You know, for a different flavor of of something. At the moment, it's just I want some something different, something with a little bit more pizzazz to it. And I'm right in thinking they were talking about ice bike. ⁓ they've been talking about What is it, a potential alien multi-purpose ship? All purpose ship at some point? ⁓ but yeah, I I I like it and I'm sure it's gonna look fun, but I wasn't that interested in the shiv. And I'm not sure how interested I'm gonna be in this, other than just Now how period, I would like you to explain yourself. Okay? You say disgusting, but explain yourself. Yeah, you can't just drop disgusting. We need you know saying ⁓ that's bad, but offer some feedback. Like I I know where this is going for them. You're just gonna be like, just pin it. Just pin it. This never needs to see the light of day. We can pretend that it's never happened. Hate it, don't want it, shouldn't exist. Put it back in the bin. I tell you what, I I'm looking forward to seeing is the grey cat Sidnus. If you st It's like the spider minor. For everyone that's been playing that new sand game, I'm sure they'll be like, ⁓ they'd be so sick to have that. But is that still supposed to be a thing? Yeah, it is a thing. ⁓ I know it's a thing, but have they said they're actually gonna do it? I need a tetanus shot just from the picture of it. Realistically it's just animation, isn't it? It's ⁓ it'll be so it'll be animation and it'll be I mean, let's just face it. All of us have seen what happens when you drive a vehicle on a planet at the moment. Right? That's weird. That's weird in track vehicles. This is the great cat subject. It is wield, but on the flip side, sure, if you've got like legs and how are they going to interact with the way that the planets and everything are at the moment? ⁓ sure, with Genesis coming in, that is supposed to change and interaction and even with ⁓ It's been so long since they've talked about it. I've forgotten about it. What's the impact and damage system they're looking to bring in? Maelstrom. Yeah. Maelstrom. With Maelstrom, for example, then maybe, you know, with one of these ticks if it's quite a large thing, could it crash through trees and go over things and you know this is gonna this is gonna I I want I just want it. I just want it to work. Like I'd probably not even use it for mining just be like, I'm going. Send my Or no, it'd be so much I want the combat version of this. If this could be like it's attached to like the back of the raft or something, the raft comes in, deploys you, just and then you just off you go and it it takes off. It needs that you're dropping the ship from underneath the ship deployment thing. If you get what I mean? Yeah, I'm I wonder what that would look like. I mean, maybe it's a case of like you could sort of stow the ship as in like you know, we've got landing and takeoff configurations for actual ships. But for this particular ground vehicle could be that the two sort of legs come together as the abdomen sort of lowers so you could be picked up. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hopefully I think we're speaking about this, weren't we? I'd like to see like a a Valkyrie variant that didn't have the back end. So it was just literally the pilot cab and a turret and then the back part was acted a little bit like an SRV in that it had sort of like a A bay where you could literally land, pick up a vehicle and just fly with it. Yeah, I I I I imagine like tanks and landing vehicles and things like this. Porkis Priest to just say, knowing bugs with the ship, you drop it off on an asteroid, it just floats away. I have a very vivid memory in my head. Is it Oli 43, I think? I was playing with someone, and this is when you had the atlases first came out, or the it keys with the guns. And they weren't they weren't in atmosphere, and they thought they were. And so him and his friend just got out the back of this and then started floating away. He was like, ⁓ we've made a we've made a mistake. We've made we've we meant ⁓ no, ⁓ no, ⁓ no, and I just have this image from what Porkish Priest said of this here, for example. They get there and like, are we ready? And it like deploy and it's go shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit. Sorry, George, he's gonna have to bleep all that out. I see one of the most like scariest things in like real life, isn't it? Is going on a spacewalk and not being tethered. ⁓ Like the Apollo astronauts with their little thruster suits and stuff. Just imagine it's like, ⁓ it doesn't work anymore. And you're like, ⁓ no. Like it's floating through space at thousands of meters per second, you'd be like, I'm in danger. Badly in danger. You'd just be like, Okay, what's gonna be the easier way to go? Sure. ⁓ Yeah, nice little tangible, but yeah, that's that's I'm really looking forward to something like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Seen ⁓ Smith of Dreams did say like the MPUV T on a size sixteen box. Yeah, MPUV like ⁓ ramp that up to a certain size and then have it that you could have it carry vehicles and other things round. Because if you are gonna have mines like that, something has to deploy it. Doesn't it? Something has to deploy it. set me free. Never. Never. It would be kinda cool to slice you know, you've got drop ship pilots for for infantry, you'd have dropship pilots for vehicles as well, then. That could be you would y you you would you could argue like the C2s, the ⁓ twos, et cetera, et cetera. But if they're gonna start introducing bigger dropships though. No, they're not, are they? They're c they're cargo ships that happen to be able to carry vehicles in. Like the closest thing I think that we have now is the ⁓ the Iron Shad assault. Yeah, but it's again it's not a dropship, is it? It's you know the dropship is literally you're in, you're out. Yes, the literal figure. Like it's not the fat pill ⁓ we need to go around, we need to find a suitable landing location for us to get out and like do conduct business and then check and then close the doors and then I'll be going off we go. It is literally a down, disengage the the tractor beam, I guess, ⁓ whatever system would be used to hold it in the rear and then just drop it and you just literally go. It'd be like Thunderbird Two but on steroids. I I like that. See the Asgard doesn't quite fit the role. It's like it's it isn't it isn't. It's like the Valkyrie's a drop ship because you literally just jump out the sides. But I mean that's very I mean Infantry dropship. Hate I'm gonna say this, but the Prowler is probably the best. I mean even the Starlights attack and the max with their little drop down sides, that that would also work as a sort of like a dropship a much bigger and the Starlands attack is almost it's almost too big. It needs to be small. Yeah. It needs to be like Valkyrie sized that is able. I think the thing for me, for anyone who ever watched the Clone Wars ⁓ and Star Wars Clone Wars, you know the things that drop off the LAATs that come in and drop off the walkers. It's almost like a broken down version of their transport ships without the middle bit that then just picks up a tank and drops the tank off and then flies off. That's literally what I'm envisioning in my head. I'm thinking of what we could do for it. ⁓ which would be fantastic. That'd be really, really good. There was talk of vehicles on the grid way back. Yeah. The it the po ⁓ yes, so it theoretically Porkish Priest and and if we're talking literally, you are correct. Yes, it can do that. But we're thinking more of ⁓ a style where it literally can come down, grab it, pick it up, and take it away fast, quick, instead of stopping landing, opening the ramp, letting it come out, closing the ramp, getting up, off we go, like dropping and running. ⁓ but you are t technically correct, yes. Absolutely. ⁓ The SRV. Is the SRV the one that has the massive tract tractor beam on the back? Could could work. Definitely could work. It would be interesting to see whether or not you can orientate orient it the right way. ⁓ I think vehicles on the grid is also what's stopping vehicles off great elevators. Well, we had that that awesome video, didn't we, of vehicles on freight elevators where they were like, Here's what's coming and they watched you bringing up your ballistas and your tanks and them driving out of the freight elevators and being loaded on. I'm still hoping that that is at some point gonna be the case. I'm trying to flick through Google at the moment. There's a helicopter. I'm sure it's a Russian helicopter. That is essentially what I'm talking about. Isn't it like it it's that comes out at the sides, doesn't it? And then it's it's almost open up in the middle, out on the sides. Yeah. Yeah, a little bit. So it's more like the helicopter. And we do Chris Robert hands. I think I've become famous for this now. So you got the long spindle with the front cabin, it's kind of like a straight back. So the winch part is at the back. And so you can have stuff like really up. For the center of mass. ⁓ That would be that would be I think we're both on the same wavelength. That's what we're thinking of here. I found it. I found it. Let me grab this. So it's like that. Yes, that's what I was just thinking of. Except this has got ropes. We're in twenty nine fifty, whatever, but ⁓ twenty nine fifty six zombie currently. So they've got tractor technology, which could be the SLV tractor but facing down. Yeah? Or it can have like sort of like side things. that keep it in in place. But yeah, you guys get what I mean. I do I do like what ⁓ what Gridamas said as well. ⁓ of saying big time, even grids that only fit certain vehicles, so industry carriers could carry geos and rocks. I really like that idea. Really like that idea. Yeah, that would be really handy. Cause it's just it's even with things like ⁓ I'm trying to think about like useful situations for it. So if you were doing ⁓ what's the massive Hassel Hassle, right? And you're going, right All of our rocks have blown themselves up or all of our miners are idiots and they've blown themselves up inside their rocks or their Atlas Geos. ⁓ we need some more. Something that can come down and just deposit them and then fly away. Cause Hattor is sometimes usually hot hotly contested. What if you want what if you want to move house though? Shout out to Porkish for dropping the correct name of the helicopter into chat. The Sikorsky S sixty four. You're thinking of the Sikorsky S sixty four. Low loading of A budget friendly family home. You know what? That is brilliant. That's like going on hell divers and being like, I'm calling I'm calling an airstrike. Do do do do and it's just Josh from the I I'm assuming it's authenticity because of the grain because it's black and white. But in this day and age, that could be AI. You're never gonna know really, are you? But No. He get yeah. He he got the memo. That's we we are going to choose To believe that that is real and that actually happened and that you could call in an air strike of a affordable h Russian home. Reffordable? That's why it's a dream. ⁓ funny thing is it's an American helicopter, not a Russian helicopter. Really? ⁓ okay. Oops. Sikorsky sounds Sikorsky. Yeah. Sounds sounds Russian thing. His favorite helicopter. But yeah, yeah, I mean like cool. Cool. But yes, so i people in chat really thought that was a ⁓ a Russian helicopter as well. Yeah, so ⁓ The crane on the top, I have no idea that was for, whether it's just for flavour, or if the ship is flying past something that has a space crane and it's actually nothing to do with a ship and we've all just been hoodwinked. Is is this realistically a combat ship though? Let's circle this back around. If it's got a crane on top, I don't think it is. I think it has to be though, just just from the amount of guns on this thing. Because you've got what what on this side alone? Got like three ornaments each side. So it looks like there's two mounted there, one, one. Yeah, and then no, I I think I think that's this the this bit here is two. Another two. I think it's the same thing. Per side. No, no, I think it might be five, because look at the on the other side, which is mirroring the one in the middle of the ones we got there. ⁓ yeah, see what we mean. So we've got one there, one. But then on the other side one and Yeah, so I think that I think that one on the other side is. This is like a concept image that we're seeing, so we could be seeing something very different land in the hangars. As soon as a week, is it? It's got fifteen size four guns. So is this the new ⁓ damn Uber Dave? ⁓ ⁓ when you say large AC re units, you mean like full on like house size A C ⁓ units, so you can actually live up to its Yeah, like that. Is that how big the A C unit is, yeah. That's a very big AC unit. That's a huge A C unit. That's actually ginormous. so guys in chat, what what are your thoughts on this? Is this something I know Hyperion is just gonna be no, but is this something you're gonna be interested in in owning, or is it because it's ⁓ just patched together, it's just like a nah, it's not for me. So I think the options are are you gonna own it? Are you just gonna check it out? Are you not interested? Like what one of those three? Because I think for me, I subscribe, so I'll have a chance to fly it for a couple of weeks. I'll go out on it, I'll play around with it, I'll be like, this is cool, this is fun, not for me. Probably. Okay, he turned a no into four words, which we can't re ⁓ say out loud. Absolutely, the boob not. Better question, will it be cheaper than the shiv? Not if it's combat. You shiv kinda grown on me a little bit, especially with the ⁓ the body kits. Yeah. The body body kits. but I can't look past the bucket toilet. I can't I can't do it. I can't do it, chat. I can't do it. Don't look at it. Don't look at Don't look at it. No, because there should be a turret there, like, and it's it's not. So there is. You're just making different kind of shooting. No, I don't think it'll be cheaper than the shift. No. I think it's too unique. There'll be a lot of dev time that's gone into this. Stepping out of like the you know, into the RL side of things. I imagine this is like a whole new Yeah, it's not doesn't look so much of a kit bash to me. Grimmus ⁓ brings up a really good point and said, I like the space western vibe, but SC does not have space western vibes, which is a great point, and I kind of wish they did. You know, like s ⁓ like a space saloon bar. You know, like those classic like tube looking like American diners kind of thing, walking on one of those. there needs to be somewhere in the verse that has that kind of feel to it, you know? ⁓ there's time yet. There's what, six star systems announced for launch or one point ⁓ with another fifty-four on the back order. I think I think it's five. I think it's Stanton, Nyx, Pyro, Soul and Castro. No Magnus? No, no Magnus. I don't think there was Magnus, was there? Check it six. Check it for us. Here comes Daddy Hyperion. Stanton. Stanton is all ⁓ look at it. Look at he's doing this. Stanton. Pyro. Castra. Yep. Typefaster. NYX. Which we have already. Terror. ⁓ yeah, Terror is yeah, soul, basically. Yeah. ⁓ soul is. planet Earth. I got so but I'm not a soldier. So yeah, six. Five. Porkish is so I want to visit my house and star citizen evaluation. We'll bring it to you. Okay. Well let's cave let's caveat on this for a second. If this what's we're doing for a moment, where is everyone when the when one point ⁓ comes out, where is your home? Where are you basing yourself? Because I am going to Castra and Sherman. That's where wanna be. I mm I think that's gonna be where I am. Yeah. Just yeah. Plus it the org's gonna be there, so the infrastructure is gonna be is gonna be heavy there. My house. It's gonna be interesting to see what what Seoul looks like or terror. A lot of Birmingham. Your house won't be there for nine hundred days. It's very true, Reuben. Hello, welcome in. Water's warm. Hello, Ruben. Hyperion is gonna stay consistent and maintain his presence in Microtech. Microtech? Yes boy. So vanilla. Yes. But it's the it's the Metagascon vanilla, darling. It's Metagaskin vanilla, darling. Yeah. Yeah, see Ruben agrees. Sherman is home. Sherman is home. Everyone is agreeing Sherman. Ruben, I think I actually remember us talking about this on Twitter after 2024 ⁓ sitcon when they revealed Sherman and they had that like progressing and I like yes. I have this image building a little house on top of one of those hills just above the clouds and in the morning going out and getting my ship and just zipping down through the clouds to skim along the the valley floors and mate. Mate So those play devil's advocate even against myself here there is definitely a benefit to being in pyro and that being the You can be a dirty little miscreant. Yeah, there is that as well. But more to do with the fact you can outfit your ships, you can apply all of your paints. ⁓ Take ⁓ up to a space station and like do them there. Hyperion says STDs. No. No. But for me, it's just got that sort of it's convenience. Of being able to jump in with a fully customized chip and just you know, you die, you don't have to worry about a transit system, you just literally up, run down the corridor, and you're back in back in the game. And with your fresh STD to hand, you are ready to get back into the gameplay. ⁓ the benefit to Living Empyro is that you appreciate all the other systems who aren't. I agree with I agree with this comment. So Ruben says the benefit to Living Empyro is you appreciate All the other systems who aren't bad anymore. Yeah. and I completely agree because I ended up at Grim Hex because I went back to Stance and forgot that you know committing crimes is a sin. Ended up with crime stat and I was like, okay, well, I guess I'll go to Grim Hex. I'll go out of Grim Hex, I was like, look how clean it is. Like how beautiful it is. I was like, I've been spoiled by Pyro here. ⁓ and then when you go back to like microtech, it's just like Joe, when you go back and you look at like an old PS1 game, it's like you go into a room and there's like a table and a chair, and that's like a an office or a bedroom, but it's like there's no goutremants, there's no pens on the t on the desk or anything like that. There's no lived in sort of feel. And that's how I felt when I went back to like Microtech and even Lawville to an extent. It was like it just looked too clinical. Not gonna lie, that's that's mad to say about Lorville. I know, I know, I know. But it's like Yeah, I it just looked too clinical, too clean. Yeah, I agree. I know obviously they're older locations, but maybe need a bit of a revisit. ⁓ it just looked too perfect. It looked too hospital like for I I you know what, I can I completely agree and I used to live with someone, right? I had a I had a roommate for all of like four months, I think. Didn didn't go very well. But basically, still good friends with her now, but it didn't go very well just because In case she was watching. Hi Emmy. but basically she wanted the place pristine at all times. Like literally you couldn't just put something down for a second and move the place out to be like a show home all the time. And I was like, that's not a home then. Like sure, yeah, don't get me wrong, like there's a difference between dirty and clean and tidy and just untidy, you know, but a house needs to feel like a home. ⁓ and for that the little things on the side, little trinkets, stuff like this, like I I won't turn my camera around on my desk, it's a bit of a mess at the moment. But or maybe I will in a minute, who knows? ⁓ But ⁓ yeah, I don't want to live in a shop window. This is it. Like for me, you know, my dad was a vicar. ⁓ so people were always coming in and out of our house. It's basically just a part of the community. And so it always felt like there was people there, there was laughter, there was noise, there was music, there was food, there was events going on, and a house always felt like a home and a communal space rather than just ⁓ we're trying to sell this, so no not one finger's out of place. Being on Microtech is a bit like like Sherman I feel it is gonna have military-esque, but I want things to feel real. You know what, Spike? Sure. Let's make it canon, shall we? You were listed everything off that was in your house. I was waiting for that inappropriate touching and supply. Orgies, gangbangs, ⁓ just And that's that's that's that's with the house that's attached to a church and there was just a door that leads between the two and it you know, welcome to the Lord's service and now let's do the Lord's work together with six other people. ⁓ but Hyperion is now locked into this. Yeah. He w he wants to know more. Yeah. Where can he sign up? How'd you get a taxi for ⁓ Blauy just said, What the heck is this ship? Okay That's I guess pulling us back onto point. So this is the sorry, let me just ⁓ this is the Gray's Market Basher, which is I've sure it it's not a conf they may have just dropped a random picture of a ship or maybe this is something completely different. But this is what people have like linked online. so this is what we're expecting to see for the Great Market a Grey's Market Basher that's coming out and we've been sort of destructuring it. We're trying to work out what you know what Hearts? It's from George, it might even be. It kind of looks a little bit like a split between a corsair and the cutless black. You know what? I'm getting stinger vibes from it. No. I'm getting there's just there's just some weird like It's the it's the ribbing here. That's ⁓ the only bit that's at feel pleasure. This is George's gonna have such a filled day with these podcast out. Hi, George. I think it's that That sort of like structural element there. It's it's more like a missing panel. But that I think is that's because I also kind of got ⁓ it's like a almost like an Aspiria vibe. Yeah, yeah. It's just literally a missing panel. ⁓ rumours are as to say I bet the crane doesn't work. Yeah, I'm I'm wondering I did say maybe the crane isn't a part of it and it's just something it's flying past. But ⁓ it almost doesn't make sense for that to be the case because there's nothing close enough. Yes, in focus is on top of Yeah. Why though? What is this a cargo ship? Are we having another cargo ship? I don't I don't get it. It's i it'll be in it'll be interesting to see what actually happens when it comes out. Interesting to see. Well, I think considering we are at the forty minute mark of talking about this monstrosity of a ship, ⁓ we might move on to something else. ⁓ we did speak briefly about Xenothreat at the beginning. But I wanted to get some people's opinions on instancing. ⁓ and what people think about the fact that they're introducing inst sections and missions and stuff to the game. I I personally this is gonna be a multi level dancer here, really. I quite like the idea of it. Especially, you know, they discussed I think at twenty twenty four sitcon the idea of being able to do missions like in the underbelly area of area eighteen. And places like this, ⁓ where you could go down or even underneath ⁓ Levsky, for example. and I like the fact that we're gonna get these different kind of missions. And I think, yes, sure, you could make them open, you know, like they did with the Rockcracker event. There's some that are open or some that are private. ⁓ I do get some people's thoughts that they're worried about ⁓ it'll stop natural interactions happening. But the player count is supposed to go up and and keep going up. So those will still happen. And just 'cause the fact there are some instanced areas does not mean that that will stop. I don't think. At all. Cause some people come here specifically for that. That's what they're gonna do. If some people wanna do the instant stuff, they can. It's not gonna reduce the amount of natural human interaction that's gonna happen within the game MMO style. So I quite like it. Let's wait and see. But Pete, what is your thoughts on instancing the sandbox, does it ruin it? Does it make it better? What's it It's a tough one. For those that want to accomplish what they want to do in the game and not be stabbed in the back, they're gonna want instancing. For those that want to stab people in the back, they're gonna not want instancing. CJ Do you mean like one day you can be one, one day you could be the other. You may be taking someone that's new through contested zones. Now that's not an instancing, so it's you always But you are taking them into a contested zone. So you know what you're getting yourself in for. Going into a contested zone is always a game of attrition. It is who's gonna end up having to dip out because of injuries, who's gonna have to dip out because of stuff happening in real life, who is gonna die, who's gonna run out of ammunition, you know, but then you can pick up another weapon, fine. But you find that you go from a group of ten down to a group of four as you enter the last area in the contested zone and then you go down even more. Whereas like Sometimes you go in with the best intentions but you get stabbed in the back and it just shortens your team's time in that area. So have both like I think that you know, we really enjoyed contested zones when they first released, so you know, that was good for us. Does Project is the Project Hyperion where you go into the little thing where you ASD. Yeah. It's like it doesn't quite have the same sort of thrill. Now there are people out there that we know people in particular who struggle with anxieties' ears or they they physically can't engage with that game loop. So you've got that accessibility tick by having the instance in. They may go, right, okay, I can never do contested zones because I can't have the adrenaline. But I could do this. Yeah. So with fri with with friends as well. I think so. A few people in chat have hit on a really interesting point here. ⁓ and I think it opens up. Smith of Dream said something about story. ⁓ and also Hyperion, coming back to your point as well, it does take away from the open world feeling. I think just kind of had a little moment here in my head. as I always do. Neurospicy. of saying, well, they want to introduce a story, don't they? And for them to introduce a story that people want to go through, there will have to be there could potentially, or there needs to be, I think, moments. Where they're getting the story in a way that doesn't mean they can get stabbed in the back at the same time if they want a story mode version of it for them to go through. ⁓ for example, some of the stuff that they're gonna be introducing, I think it's either with 4.10 or 4.9, they said is to do with the ongoing story that's gonna happen. It's this new mission giver. So maybe part of this instincts stuff is placing the foundation for a story. Elements that people will go through. You know, 2024, I know I've said it a few times now, but they spoke about getting your citizenship, becoming a star citizen, and what that means is you follow the story through from start to finish, and you get a certain reward for doing that if you wish. Some elements will end up being open world and being ⁓ sandbox, but I imagine for a story mode to exist within Star Citizen, the MMO, there will have to be some level of instanc. So I think maybe. Sure, they're probably trying to appeal to everyone, but at the same time, ⁓ yeah. ⁓ and then Hyperion does say, which is also great point, I truly think that this biggest driver of this is them wanting to heavily manage entity count instead of placing, for example, 120 identical ASD facility locations. Yes. Yes. That's yeah, that's a wise take on it as well. Smith of Dreams also then said, I did like the instancing for the TSG. ⁓ Or pay more for a private one. Yeah. So you can choose. And I mean, don't get me wrong, there are some times where I'm like, I'm really up for some PvP. This could be really good fun. Going to a Hathor site. Like one of the favorite one of my one awesome moment was I was in my Firebird and I just happened to go and chill down by a Hathor site. And then I saw all of a sudden in World Chat GFA was like, Yo, Swanky, is that you in the Firebird? And I was like, Yeah. He goes, ⁓ sick. Come and give us a hand, would ya? And then we spent the next two or three hours having like dog fights Above Hathor, striking runs, mining, like first person combat on the ground, capital ship combat in the air. It was j it was just so cool. But then there are other times, like with ASD runs where I want to get a load of us together and we go and clear out a dungeon, I say, quote unquote. So yeah, it's it's good. It's it's good to have those things in place and to have the option of doing it if you wish. Yeah. I thought for a moment we were gonna start delving into server meshing and stuff and say that's ⁓ I've got a whole episode planned for server meshing and how server meshing, as nice as it may be, it may also be the death of Star Citizen. ⁓ That's that's that's a big thing to say and then say we will talk about this at the Yeah, we'll talk about it another time. But the low and the the high and low of it is ⁓ there's a big thing happening at the moment with video games and At the point where a game is released, they are now looking at making ⁓ end of life structuring and planning available so that you as a consumer know what you're buying into. So if we're buying into Star Citizen, there's a game that says this game eventually will reach shelf life and it will become it will cease to be, then you know that you're purchasing into that. But we've seen it with the crew. that was it Need for Speed the Crew? Is people bought into a game and then after a couple of years it's like, ⁓ you can't play anymore. And it's like a lot of people saying that's not acceptable. So it's now a case of we need to see end of life. So it's cool, we've been waiting ten plus years for this game to come out, but when it does come out, what is the future gonna look like? Yeah, how long are we gonna have it for? The part where I'm sort of delving into briefly is like so server meshing is is it gonna be a case of it could be too expensive for them to run In the many years in the future where they're no longer selling ships, which may never happen, but who knows, you know, every eventuality is a possibility, right? So it is a case of does it become too expensive for CIG to continue to run in the far-flung future? Hmm. So Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. ⁓ but that is ⁓ It's not intended to be a spicy video slum, I promise you, it is just a very holistic look at the video game industry. Which is going through so many changes at the moment. ⁓ it's horrible to see all the layoffs as well. But it's also really I it's something that's dear to me is like making sure that you are preserving those video games because it's people's art, vo both visual, stylistic, coding to a degree as well. It's you know, it's people's teamwork, it's it's j group effort. Yeah. And it's a lot of memories for people. So it's is Very important that we preserve video games moving forward. And so end of life for me is is the next step in that and making sure that it's important or is held in high regard by video games companies. Yeah, I mean th they they have spoken on this before and that they want it to be like I I remember ⁓ Riz Crobit Riz Riz Cronuts, ⁓ as I'm gonna call him from now on, ⁓ talking about that you know he wants it to be almost like Like World of Warcraft is that they just keep developing and updating and updating and developing. And I with World of Warcraft is a subscription based model, right? and I imagine that's probably where they're gonna go the same for Star Citizen. I yeah, I could see that. It feels like the logical next step. ⁓ I will quickly go back 'cause there was a ⁓ Pork Priest is like I remember running Hath or when we were finally done getting bombed by A ones while running away. Good memories. ⁓ Then Hyperion said I think it would be around for a while mainly because though this community is niche people that love space games are dedicated to, for example, Eve, Star Trek Online, which both have a version of free to play but are still pushing. ⁓ yeah. This is not something you imagine happening in our lifetime. This is gonna be such an incredible game. And when it does release, that is optimized and it runs on the potato, it's gonna be incredible. ⁓ But our children may see the end of it and yeah. And with with my child sat there with my account being like, What do I do with this now? Dad said this would be cost of fortune now. Yeah, yeah. Dad said this will cost a fortune at some point. My goodness. ⁓ but yeah. No, so instancing I think is it's a very big split. I think it will be dependent on how they do it and how it looks like eventually. A lot of this stuff, as we've said before, is temporary for the moment and is not in its final iteration. So we can't really pass too much judgment until we actually see where it is going and what it's going to become. ⁓ but yeah, let's wait and see. And we did talk about it before, but we can come back to it. Is how's everyone getting on with Xenothread? I know we mentioned how we were getting on with it and what we have done with it right at the beginning, but how is everyone else getting on with Xenothreat? How are you finding it? ⁓ completed Completed it, mate. Nice. I don't appear. I'd interested to know what type of missions you engaged with as well. So whether it was like the simple eighty eight eighty eight K missions or the more advanced ones where it gave you the same amount of points. So trade off and time to the points just wasn't worth it for me. Porkage priest says unmotivated. The blueprints aren't enough of a reward because I know they are getting wiped. That's not confirmed. It's maybe likely. So he he ⁓ he raises an interesting point, and I'm only saying this because surely isn't everything else on our account gonna get like I'm so I'll I'll preface this with a bit of context. So when we get to one point ⁓ our hangers are gonna be rammed full of sh. Right? The point some of us who've been following this game for years, I mean, one dark's having a look at his screen right now and pulling a face is in, he's gonna bring up his inventory when one point ⁓ drops. ⁓ but ⁓ let's not get into it. It's you know it's like ⁓ just pick an armor set and you just get like after a wipe and you're just like what do I want? Yeah, yeah, I I'm just like there's still a part of me that that sure, yeah, most of this stuff I think should go for one point ⁓ Maybe there are a couple of little things that we keep before it, and sure, yeah, we need a reward for helping out with the development of the game and being there as playtesters as we are, but at what point Are they just giving us so much that they were like, well, then what is there to do when one point ⁓ comes out? again, this is just me playing devil's advocate. This is not me saying that I like stuff. I'd like blueprints apparently to my account, but if I was to have N DB and FR sixty six blueprints attributed to my account, that's a hell of a head start when you start in one point zero. ⁓ because those things are the meta. At least they were the meta and are the meta as as some parts of it. The other side things is if you are going into these missions and you're getting these limited time bonuses, then it's kind of inferring that this is a one time only deal. So when one point ⁓ releases and we get a massive influx of players that are coming over from squadron forty two who go, I want that. Well there's a reason why they've made these mission cycles. They're not just gonna go, ⁓ we made that mission, but that was only for testing. There probably will be an element of that, but a lot of the stuff they go F seven A Mark Two. You will see that again. Then there's not a way they're gonna gatekeep that from everyone that's gonna join after the fact to go, ⁓ that's right, we sunset it. The the F seven Mark I, yeah, they'll do that potentially. But yeah. They've made they've put effort into making these ship models and putting these elements in the game, they're going to keep it going. Which is which is a shame in a sense, because I'd love to be able to like a load of us rock up an F seven A's and people are like, whoa, where'd you get those from? Well, you can't get them. Because we were there I was there. I was there at the beginning of time. I was there when ships didn't used to move, servers would lag, your stuff would disappear. Have you ever heard of a thirty K? Maybe your grandfather told you once, but no, I was there, I experienced it first hand. And I am here, and that's why I've got my shiny digital ship. This is kind of why I like the whole like bosses and trinkets, is because these are things you can put on a shelf in your hab down the line when they're not gonna just like spawn or fall through the floor. You can go, okay, this is like the remnant, this is my memory. Like we do this with our houses. You don't have a memory is sat in your driveway. Some people do. Like Tom Cruise or something. But we have like pictures on the wall and we have stuff like that. But this is maybe how these missions should be going. You should get like a xeno threat like propaganda poster that goes up in your in your hangar if you want to put it up or not. But like you get it as part of doing that. But We as the gaming audience will go, ⁓ that's a cra thing. We shouldn't have that. We should have a fresh brand new ship with a special livery and only weapons that we've accrued through this mission. Then they're got a special coating as well. And that's what we should have. It's like, wow, mate, you've put like a couple of hours into a game for testing. It's like it's not quite a fair trade off, is it? Yeah. I think I think ⁓ what somebody said in chat, which I I would go back and look at at the moment, but I'm trying to keep track of the different chats, ⁓ is Like maybe there's one reward. Like you get a blueprint for something. Like, sure, if the blueprints for all the stuff that we have for that was attributed, that's too much. Like that's way too much. Like already, like Pete said, like when there's a wipe or a fresh wipe and I come in and I'm like, ⁓ yeah, fresh wipe. And I'm like, which one of my eighteen armor sets do I want to wear out for the first time? Just like, ⁓ I don't know. ⁓ you know, something like that that then maybe they're like like somebody said the Alderine ⁓ the Ardor, Ardor repeaters. Like if you get something that's special that maybe you can't get anywhere else or you can only get through ⁓ like doing the contested zones, something like that, something that's really difficult to get hold of that you've got for taking part in doing this, maybe one. You know what I mean? ⁓ but yeah, Hyperion going to your point as well. ⁓ I seriously miss the first version of Xenothreat. Far more engaging, like watching the javelin absolutely smack the address and working together on the cargo part made it feel like the real situation happening in the verse. I agree. I think, if you'll allow me to offer my opinion on this, that I think they haven't done it because of the fact of the state of the game at the moment. If they brought Xenothreat back exactly the same as it normally was with the state of the game right now, everyone would go, ⁓ it's it's broken. It's too many points of failure, I think, right now. Yeah, and I think to add something else that doesn't work back up of backup to make sure that happens. Yeah, yeah, yeah. ⁓ but yeah, that's my thoughts that I yeah, I I had a feeling you'd feel the same. ⁓ yeah, they usually give two of each size. In this case it was two of size twos and threes. ⁓ yeah. But let's let's just let's wait and see. Let's wait and see what happens with it. Ultimately though, ⁓ I'm when I start having more time on my hands, ⁓ when little one isn't quite as ⁓ codependent on us at the moment or waking every two hours for five. Feisty. Yeah, she's ⁓ she's a sassy little queen at the moment is is is a little baby. ⁓ She ⁓ yesterday I was saying to those who weren't here right at the beginning, I sent a picture to Pete, which was me walking round with a pram at half past ten last night, watching the football, walking round my local area with the pram because she wouldn't sleep for like seven hours. So I was like, right. And I walked round until one o'clock in the morning just to make sure my wife had enough time to sleep before I took her back to the house. Wait for the sleep flip or He means regression. Yeah. ⁓ sweet mother of Jesus. You are going to need some spiritual guidance when that stu comes in because can it regress to anything less than what it already is? Because they progress with like their mental state and stuff. But even up to like age three, and then you hit like a milestone and they go back to being like 18 months old for like a month, and it's just crazy. It's yeah, you ain't gonna sleep. If you think colic is bad, ⁓ progression is But yes, as Slum says, welcome to fatherhood. Thank you. As you say, I'm wearing I I feel like when I saw it says daddy bear on it, she's got one that says baby bear on it, which is a smaller version for herself. I don't know why when it's a daddy bear, I thought of Hyperion. That's daddy. That's a daddy point. Hyperion is daddy. Daddy. Daddy. Daddy. Daddy. Daddy, Hyperion. For anyone in chat that or listen to Spotify, Hyperion in chat, he is Daddy Hyperion to us. Daddy Hyperion. And to everyone, to be fair. Everyone in the Discord. And they're like vampires and don't give a damn about your sleep. Yeah, Hyperion. Yeah. Yep. Yep. Yep. She at the moment the only way she will sleep is if she is on our chest. And that is it. And then we know that if we want her to sleep for a long like three hours straight, she has to stay on the chest. If you put her down, she'll maybe sleep for another hour, and then she'll be like, I sense you are no longer holding me, father. Pick me up or I shall scream the house down. I'm okay. ⁓ bless her. ⁓ So no not much stoss isn't time for you, No, no, no, no, no. I I've managed to get some time in to build some more Warhammer, but that's normally with like one hand on her here and the other hand like jigsawing the pieces on the side there and then start being like hand back on her again. Brilliant again. ⁓ But yes, not doing too bad. Cool. Right, so last couple of minutes while we close out, ⁓ another just Yeah, public notice that so England is coming home for a start, but we play our semi final on Wednesday and if we progress through from that we will not be live next week. There may be a pre record, but yeah, we will not be going live if we're in the final. Sorry gang. ⁓ this is like we're sixty years of hurt this year, so we are looking forward to going back. We're actually saying last night i if we win we can't sing that song for at least eight years. Because for four years we'll hold the we'll have it. Hold So there'll there'll be no hurt. It's still at home. It's still football still at home. It's still at home. It's cool. The dream says, why does the baby have a bolt gun glued to them? Look, protection is really important, and teaching your child how to protect themselves from an early age, especially when you teach them about the blood ravens. Okay. Very closer. Closer. Computer enhance. Will the camera get it? Camera enhance. Put your hand behind it. Hold it that. Go close. Big big big big big. ⁓ it's not it's not focusing. Not picking it up, is it? Looks good though, doesn't it? It's blur blows his face out there. There you go. That's that's that's what I've I I just did a rough version of ⁓ Blood Raven, but yeah. Hopefully get them all done. There's only like another sixty models, so I've still got a paint. Gosh. I've got A stack. It was always like, ⁓ there yeah, there's piles of shame in everyone in the house. I was like, there will never be a pile of shame in my mountain of shame. I just don't have the time. I'm looking forward to over the summer holidays ensuring that I have solid time and will be outside of my garden just sat there in the evenings just ⁓ painting away with a beer. That's the one thing one thing I miss about work at the moment is that on my lunch breaks I had to have a solid hour to paint. They set me up a paint corner in bathroom with like a lamp and a little pot with like some paint and stuff like this. So every time I was on my lunch break I'd sit and I'd paint another model. ⁓ which was awesome. ⁓ but that's the only thing I miss about working on. And that's it. Very cool. Yeah. Cool. So that is us. We're gonna clock out now and we look forward to not seeing you next week. I say that with all the love of my heart. For the Emperor. No, I mean it's coming home. The king. The king but we sod we really want to We really want to be in the final. We really want to get through, but I mean there's a video of nine minutes of Argentina getting unpunitized against Switzerland, like pure fouls. So I'm not holding out much hope for us. No. Yeah. But anyway. Yes, thank you very much. ⁓ it has been wonderful to spend this evening with you all. Thank you so much for showing up. Thank you very much for the subs. ⁓ CJ will stream solo. ⁓ sure, we'll run that past him, see what he says. ⁓ but yeah, thank you so much for turning up. Thank you so much for spending time with us, for the subs, for your interactions, for your engagement, for your roasts of us. ⁓ we appreciate that more than anything else. It keeps us humble. You know, it's very, very important. but yeah, can see why people say fe for historically because they are Trump. Trump goes, if you wouldn't mind, I've just gotta make sure the Belligan makes it to the next round. ⁓ yeah, sure, Trump. We'll do that for you. Thank you very much. I gotta build a wall if you don't, you know, coming back. Yeah, but ours got declined. It's mad. No, it got doubled. Yeah, it did, didn't it? Yeah, I just forgot about it. It got doubled. This this is what you get. Okay, used to be our overlords, then we we got back our own country. Don't worry about it. Drink your tea. Go away. I ⁓ don't think we'll hear the loss of that. No. That's not gonna go away quietly. Anyway, we digress. Thank you so much everyone for coming, for being a part of this, for being a part of everything and for turning up every week. We really appreciate you. There's so much more on the horizon and we can't wait to get into it all with you. Anyway, have a wonderful week in the verse. Anything from you before we go on, Duck? Nope, that's it. We were ⁓ you already kinda said too much, so yeah, there's more in the works. I wasn't saying in living more than that. I know, I know, but looking forward to it. So we'll see you in the verse by for now.
