00:00:12.320 --> 00:00:15.439
Welcome to the Purpose for Life podcast.
00:00:15.599 --> 00:00:24.480
I'm your host, Suzanne Roberts, where we interview people that are deeply connected to themselves living on purpose.
00:00:24.719 --> 00:00:30.480
And I'm thrilled to have here with us today Vincent Vandenbroek.
00:00:30.719 --> 00:00:31.839
Did I do it?
00:00:33.439 --> 00:00:34.799
That was literally it.
00:00:35.359 --> 00:00:36.560
Eight out of a ten.
00:00:37.280 --> 00:00:38.240
Eight out of a ten.
00:00:39.600 --> 00:00:40.240
Not bad.
00:00:40.479 --> 00:00:41.439
Not bad.
00:00:42.240 --> 00:00:46.159
And where are you residing right now?
00:00:46.320 --> 00:00:48.479
In are you in Belgium or Brussels?
00:00:48.560 --> 00:00:49.600
Where are you?
00:00:52.079 --> 00:00:53.520
Do you know Belgium?
00:00:54.159 --> 00:00:54.479
No.
00:00:57.679 --> 00:00:59.439
But you know it exists.
00:00:59.520 --> 00:01:00.799
It's not a magical place.
00:01:01.600 --> 00:01:02.880
Belgium does exist.
00:01:04.079 --> 00:01:05.760
But you're in Brussels, right?
00:01:06.159 --> 00:01:09.359
Yeah, in Belgium, which is by the way the capital of Brussels.
00:01:09.840 --> 00:01:11.760
Which is the capital of Belgium, sorry.
00:01:12.079 --> 00:01:12.560
Okay, great.
00:01:12.640 --> 00:01:13.519
So you're in Brussels.
00:01:13.680 --> 00:01:16.239
Thank you so much for being with us today.
00:01:17.040 --> 00:01:29.120
I would like to start with my first question is technically, you shouldn't be where you are right now because of something that happened to you.
00:01:29.359 --> 00:01:31.760
So can we talk about what happened to you?
00:01:31.920 --> 00:01:34.400
And basically, you're a living miracle.
00:01:34.560 --> 00:01:36.319
So let's start there.
00:01:37.040 --> 00:01:52.159
I always find it crazy and mind-blowing to be reminded of because factually, if I have to believe the medical team that took care of me when I got hit by a car 2024.
00:01:52.239 --> 00:02:04.560
So long story short, October 11, 2024, get hit by a car in a disgusting kind of way.
00:02:04.719 --> 00:02:07.120
So I fall under my window, rooftop.
00:02:07.280 --> 00:02:16.159
Person that finds me, found me 11 meters further, wasn't wearing any helmet, fell on my skull, get weeks into coma, months through rehab.
00:02:16.400 --> 00:02:27.599
And like the narrative uh when I was still in coma to my wife, family was at least your husband is probably not gonna make it.
00:02:28.159 --> 00:02:30.080
Start preparing the funeral.
00:02:30.400 --> 00:02:36.560
And then it was literally every, and even I forget often, like it was every day.
00:02:36.639 --> 00:02:48.560
Like I didn't go through the worst, like I was just sleeping for three weeks, but for them it was every day a lot of bad news, bit of good news, a lot of bad news again, a bit of good news.
00:02:48.639 --> 00:02:50.240
So it was every day waiting.
00:02:50.319 --> 00:02:53.120
Like, is he gonna wake up?
00:02:53.280 --> 00:02:54.240
Is he gonna wake up?
00:02:54.319 --> 00:02:56.240
And then I finally did.
00:02:57.280 --> 00:03:01.120
And the scene was apparently magical.
00:03:01.199 --> 00:03:17.199
So the doctor did, so I was uh so the day I woke up, already a couple of days before I started moving an arm, then opened my eyes, and every time they were like, Oh, and then the doctors would then break them down with now.
00:03:17.360 --> 00:03:18.000
That's normal.
00:03:18.080 --> 00:03:34.879
People in coma do that reflexes, and then the day I wake up, I have my eyes open for 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes, and then my wife calls a doctor in.
00:03:35.039 --> 00:03:49.120
The doctor does some tests, walks out of the room, calls in other doctors, nurses, therapists, they all in inside the room, they start jumping around screaming like he's awake, he's awake.
00:03:49.199 --> 00:03:56.639
They start speaking about a miracle already at that time because again, odds were at least against me.
00:03:57.039 --> 00:03:59.439
So oh wow.
00:03:59.840 --> 00:04:02.080
Do you remember waking up?
00:04:02.560 --> 00:04:04.479
Do you remember that scene?
00:04:06.000 --> 00:04:09.520
Yeah, I would I would have loved to, and uh, you know what?
00:04:09.840 --> 00:04:33.199
I hate not being able to tell people like it was like an epiphany, like you wake up like what you see in the movies, it was like okay, I woke up, but even those first two weeks, I was only in coma for three weeks, but those first two weeks after me waking up, I was in a bad place.
00:04:33.360 --> 00:04:37.040
I was not, I didn't have a notion of time.
00:04:37.120 --> 00:04:45.360
Like for me, um minutes.
00:04:45.759 --> 00:04:48.319
Um, I was complaining all the time.
00:04:48.399 --> 00:04:56.879
I was in a bad place, I could not walk, I could not talk, could not eat by myself, needed help for even the most basic stuff.
00:04:57.120 --> 00:04:59.600
I hallucinated a lot, also.
00:05:00.480 --> 00:05:09.279
So I always tell people that it was almost as if two months of my life got taken away from me.
00:05:15.920 --> 00:05:18.959
And after that, two months, what happened?
00:05:20.720 --> 00:05:34.240
Where did you go to rehab or what yeah, and you know, actually, it wasn't too much, it was um at least a month to six weeks that got taken away.
00:05:34.319 --> 00:05:37.519
So I walk into rehab were November the 20th.
00:05:38.079 --> 00:05:44.240
Okay, and uh and then rehabs, and that's another crazy story.
00:05:44.480 --> 00:05:59.759
Then rehab takes way shorter than the expectations again until where January, the end of January 2025, last beginning of last year.
00:06:00.240 --> 00:06:10.720
Because I think when we spoke before to meet each other, you said they had said it would be two years before you would get through rehab, and it was two months.
00:06:11.279 --> 00:06:14.240
Yeah, that's crazy.
00:06:14.480 --> 00:06:20.240
It was uh you have to know, and why did I say that it's a crazy story?
00:06:20.399 --> 00:06:28.639
Because on November the 21, when I walked into rehab, I told everyone around me on my birthday, I'm out of this place.
00:06:28.800 --> 00:06:33.759
With all the knowledge that I had about my case, the way I progressed, on my birthday, I'm out of this.
00:06:33.839 --> 00:06:40.720
And what do we all love to do is telling, nah, that's not gonna happen.
00:06:40.879 --> 00:06:45.519
Feet on the ground, stop being realistic, start being realistic, stop dreaming.
00:06:45.759 --> 00:06:56.800
Except for one person, my wife, she tells me it might be better to not link it to a specific date, but to things you did before the accent, and gonna need to relearn again.
00:06:57.120 --> 00:06:59.360
And then we always have two options.
00:06:59.519 --> 00:07:03.920
Option one, you let ego do the talking, and you'll be like, What?
00:07:04.000 --> 00:07:07.439
You're supposed to be on my side, and you complain, complain, complain.
00:07:07.759 --> 00:07:11.920
Option two, and I've always been option two kind of person.
00:07:12.079 --> 00:07:13.519
You listen and you act upon.
00:07:13.600 --> 00:07:20.480
So that same evening, I made a list of everything I did before the accident, and I have to relearn again.
00:07:20.879 --> 00:07:24.240
So I did social media, so I have to learn all the applications again.
00:07:24.399 --> 00:07:33.920
Uh I did the books for the business, so Excel, I made a whole list, and I started working on that list every time there were no visitors between therapy sessions.
00:07:34.160 --> 00:07:38.800
A couple of days later, I post my very first video on Instagram for the business.
00:07:39.040 --> 00:07:44.160
And I don't know if you know with CapCut, there's this logo thing in the end that you're supposed to delete.
00:07:44.639 --> 00:07:49.759
Um, which I didn't get a phone call phone call from my wife.
00:07:49.920 --> 00:07:51.759
I think uh I'm not even now Leila.
00:07:52.000 --> 00:07:53.199
What on earth did you just do?
00:07:53.279 --> 00:07:56.480
You just posted a video and you forgot to delete the logo and it's shit.
00:07:56.639 --> 00:08:01.680
Um, and then again you have two options you got ego to the talking, and you'll be like, Man, what?
00:08:01.759 --> 00:08:10.160
But you're supposed to be supporting me, you're supposed to be on my side, and it's my very first video, and you complain, complain, complain, or option two, you listen and you act upon a couple of days later.
00:08:10.240 --> 00:08:17.360
I post my second video, which was probably still shit, but I at least deleted the logo.
00:08:17.600 --> 00:08:28.160
There, where it gets really interesting is indeed it wasn't my birthday, but on the in the week of my birthday, I walked out of there.
00:08:31.279 --> 00:08:33.279
Where do you attest that to?
00:08:34.720 --> 00:08:49.279
Everything I just said, mindset, mindset, planning, not sticking to your mood, but to the plan, being convinced of what is considered delusional is gonna happen.
00:08:49.440 --> 00:09:07.919
Like when you're chasing something big in general, could be whatever, could be losing a lot of weight, could be some crazy business you want to start, could be the taking the podcast to 72 countries, could be getting your help back.
00:09:08.159 --> 00:09:16.480
You will always seem delusional to the people around you, and you know it, and that's okay until it works.
00:09:16.960 --> 00:09:19.279
So you have to trust yourself.
00:09:20.639 --> 00:09:27.759
Of course, always like every everything, by the way, in life always starts with yourself.
00:09:28.159 --> 00:09:29.039
That's the only thing.
00:09:29.200 --> 00:09:37.120
The only thing you can't control, by the way, in life is yourself, is what you do, what you say, what you feel.
00:09:38.240 --> 00:09:39.039
Nothing else.
00:09:39.120 --> 00:09:44.879
You cannot control your friends, you cannot control your family, you cannot control society, you cannot control the weather.
00:09:45.200 --> 00:09:48.559
What you can't control though is yourself.
00:09:50.480 --> 00:09:54.159
And how have you come to understand that?
00:09:55.759 --> 00:10:05.039
Oh, that that comes from a very young age already, and that's why the subtitle also of the book is How the Life You Build Becomes a Life That Saves You.
00:10:05.360 --> 00:10:07.679
Wait, what is the title, the whole title of your book?
00:10:08.559 --> 00:10:11.279
Everything feels impossible until it's done.
00:10:11.759 --> 00:10:13.039
I love that.
00:10:15.120 --> 00:10:17.279
That's exactly all that.
00:10:17.600 --> 00:10:29.440
And it goes, We're 2018, and I opened my very first restaurant, and people would ask me, uh, yeah, Vincent, what if it doesn't work?
00:10:30.320 --> 00:10:33.039
Um, no, it's gonna work.
00:10:33.279 --> 00:10:35.360
Yeah, but what if it doesn't?
00:10:36.159 --> 00:10:37.440
No, it's gonna work.
00:10:37.600 --> 00:10:39.120
Yeah, but what is plan B?
00:10:39.360 --> 00:10:40.480
There is none.
00:10:40.799 --> 00:10:45.360
And for me, surviving was the bare minimum.
00:10:45.759 --> 00:10:48.080
There was literally no plan B.
00:10:48.159 --> 00:10:54.159
I I remember telling myself, like, I'm not staying in this place for another five years.
00:10:54.480 --> 00:10:56.399
That ain't gonna happen.
00:10:56.879 --> 00:11:05.440
And it's not by praying or by wishing or by thinking that things happen.
00:11:05.919 --> 00:11:09.679
You have you're gonna have to execute, you're gonna have to do.
00:11:12.159 --> 00:11:23.759
That's by the way, and going back to the title, there's two the two most important words of the title are the feeling part, which is always connected to the outcome, which you will never be able to control.
00:11:24.159 --> 00:11:26.960
The impossible part, you will never be able to control it.
00:11:27.519 --> 00:11:30.399
Meaning it's not factual, it doesn't mean nothing.
00:11:30.799 --> 00:11:33.360
And done the doing part.
00:11:33.519 --> 00:11:38.080
What you can control though is doing, and right now we're 2026.
00:11:38.159 --> 00:11:49.039
We've been along for quite some time right now, human race, and the past has taught us enough that results always follow.
00:11:49.360 --> 00:11:53.120
Hard work always pays off.
00:11:53.679 --> 00:12:09.919
Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not next week, nor next month, maybe not even next year, but one day when you keep on giving, you get you'll get that's right, that's so interesting.
00:12:10.240 --> 00:12:14.159
The person I interviewed before you said the same exact thing.
00:12:15.120 --> 00:12:15.679
Oh wow.
00:12:15.919 --> 00:12:24.000
Yeah, it was uh we were talking about like rather than the big success, like each action you take is a success.
00:12:25.120 --> 00:12:25.360
Right?
00:12:25.519 --> 00:12:28.320
And each success builds on the other success.
00:12:28.559 --> 00:12:34.720
So it's like rather than you know, thinking it's out here, it's the next moment, it's the next action.
00:12:34.960 --> 00:12:46.000
And it's staying the course because you have uh a passion, a vision, and a why, you know, and then you just keep going.
00:12:47.759 --> 00:13:04.720
And and you don't let I mean I think what's fascinating for me about your story is that there were outside predic predictions about whether you were gonna recover ever or not, or when you were gonna recover, and you're like, you're not letting that control you.
00:13:04.799 --> 00:13:11.919
Now you don't know what the outcome's gonna be of you deciding you're gonna learn Excel, that you're gonna learn programs again.
00:13:12.000 --> 00:13:18.960
You know, you don't really know what that outcome is gonna be, but you know if you don't take that action, you're not gonna know, right?
00:13:19.120 --> 00:13:22.960
And so you get to find out through taking the action.
00:13:25.679 --> 00:13:27.679
Suzanne, listen, you're gonna love this.
00:13:27.919 --> 00:14:24.879
There's the thing with not doing, like the negative impact of not doing daily is this literally, it's pretty tiny, like life will still be pretty okay, bills will still be paid, there will be people around you that will still like you, but the positive impact of you doing is this, you cannot even see it on the screen, and the only the only way you're gonna be able to see that is by doing, and that is by the way, why most of us stay over here because it's just enough, and we convince ourselves that we're good, but wait, Suzanne, wait until you saw you see this.
00:14:25.919 --> 00:14:31.840
I love that for those of you that are listening and not able to watch right now.
00:14:32.000 --> 00:14:34.320
His hands were very close together.
00:14:34.480 --> 00:14:39.840
And then when he talked about taking actions, it was like soaring to the heavens, right?
00:14:39.919 --> 00:14:43.919
And so that it created this space of possibility.
00:14:44.080 --> 00:14:47.039
I always say we're a little bit stingy with ourselves.
00:14:47.200 --> 00:15:01.039
We think things are good enough, and we can get complacent in like thinking that things are good enough, and those actions become generative towards a different future that is yet to unfold, right?
00:15:01.279 --> 00:15:02.879
Is that what you're saying?
00:15:03.759 --> 00:15:16.399
Yeah, life is most of the times, hey Suzanne, let me be real honest here, especially for you, me, you live in the you live in the states, I'm in Europe.
00:15:17.440 --> 00:15:23.039
Life is pretty decent already in a general kind of way.
00:15:26.000 --> 00:15:31.600
So being accepting that is yeah, of course, it's good enough.
00:15:32.799 --> 00:15:33.759
It's good enough.
00:15:35.120 --> 00:15:36.159
And you know what?
00:15:38.000 --> 00:15:39.759
For most of us, it's not.
00:15:39.919 --> 00:15:52.399
We just got so good in 2026 lying to ourselves, pretending you know what the only person you're fooling is yourself.
00:15:54.000 --> 00:16:00.080
Keep keep on keep on pretending, keep on lying to yourself.
00:16:01.840 --> 00:16:11.600
I can guarantee you one day, again, maybe not tomorrow, nor next week, maybe not even next year.
00:16:11.919 --> 00:16:16.639
One day you're gonna wake up with so much regret you're not ready for it.
00:16:16.879 --> 00:16:21.039
And one thing I'm afraid of is exactly that.
00:16:22.320 --> 00:16:28.399
Regret I that ain't gonna happen with me.
00:16:28.559 --> 00:16:30.480
I'm afraid of it.
00:16:33.279 --> 00:16:38.799
Is there any way that you think that you've changed because of the accident?
00:16:41.759 --> 00:16:43.440
Oh, not at all.
00:16:43.759 --> 00:16:44.480
Not at all.
00:16:44.799 --> 00:16:45.279
Really?
00:16:45.759 --> 00:16:59.840
But again, you're not able to do what I did if you weren't ready for exactly that.
00:17:00.399 --> 00:17:04.480
Going back to the title, how the life you built becomes a life that then saves you.
00:17:04.559 --> 00:17:18.000
Like I did a lot of things just because I thought it was the right thing to do, which then eventually helped me to go through the most difficult period of my entire life.
00:17:18.480 --> 00:17:32.880
What did change though is I became way more non-negotiable about certain things, like um, for example, I missed the four first birthdays of my sister daughters.
00:17:34.000 --> 00:17:36.079
That will never ever happen again.
00:17:36.400 --> 00:17:56.640
I remember, and this is practically almost before the accident, I remember opening the restaurant, and in the group chat that we have, she sent over some pictures of or videos of her being uh dressed like princesses, and I remember just falling into tears.
00:17:56.799 --> 00:17:58.880
I will never ever do that again.
00:17:59.200 --> 00:18:06.880
Never before before the accident, having dinner with my wife was a rare occasion.
00:18:07.599 --> 00:18:12.720
I'm not doing that again, I'm not doing that again neither anymore.
00:18:12.960 --> 00:18:15.519
We we eat together every single evening.
00:18:16.000 --> 00:18:19.039
Like spending time with the people I like, you know what?
00:18:19.359 --> 00:18:26.240
Problems that are not not that important, I'll manage them tomorrow.
00:18:27.519 --> 00:18:28.319
Or next week.
00:18:29.359 --> 00:18:45.920
So some of your go on just became my priorities changed, and they were already important before the accent, but again, actions speak louder than words.
00:18:48.000 --> 00:18:50.400
I put money where my mouth is right now.
00:18:50.720 --> 00:18:51.680
I love that.
00:18:52.960 --> 00:18:55.839
And what does authenticity mean to you?
00:18:59.920 --> 00:19:01.680
Oh, pretty simple.
00:19:01.920 --> 00:19:05.519
Again, not easy and nor difficult, but pretty simple.
00:19:05.680 --> 00:19:18.720
It's you looking at yourself in the mirror and being able to tell yourself you're living a true life.
00:19:19.519 --> 00:19:26.799
It means you are you being who you think you are.
00:19:28.559 --> 00:19:58.559
Authenticity is just being real when you take away the money, when you take away uh what your parents think about you, what your family expects you to do, what your friends expect you, Suzanne just being Suzanne by herself, is she who she thinks she is, who she wants to be.
00:19:59.759 --> 00:20:01.599
That's authentic authenticity.
00:20:01.759 --> 00:20:04.400
It's that simple, and you know what we all know.
00:20:05.119 --> 00:20:09.039
And I love and I love using examples that are easier to understand.
00:20:09.119 --> 00:20:10.720
It's like going to the gym.
00:20:12.160 --> 00:20:13.680
You have a personal training right now.
00:20:14.160 --> 00:20:21.599
We all know at the end of the workout if we went all in or not, right?
00:20:22.640 --> 00:20:23.839
Truly, you know.
00:20:24.319 --> 00:20:26.000
But what do we love to do?
00:20:26.960 --> 00:20:32.160
Take a picture in the gym, put it on Instagram, hoping for some likes, some encouragement.
00:20:33.119 --> 00:20:44.319
Which again is not a bad thing, need uh, but what you want to chase going back to anticity is you go into the gym and going all in every single time you go.
00:20:44.960 --> 00:20:50.000
Every single time you go, you go, stop pretending, please.
00:20:50.559 --> 00:20:52.640
Being authentic, you know what?
00:20:52.720 --> 00:20:57.279
It's but I I can tell you right now, you're authentic.
00:20:58.000 --> 00:21:05.119
There's there's a vibe, there's an energy, you just that it's there in the room.
00:21:05.599 --> 00:21:13.519
You know how many times I've heard the past couple of days like, oh, you seem authentic, and I do not even know those people.
00:21:14.559 --> 00:21:29.599
It's just when when the way, listen, when the way you move, the way you talk, what you talk about, what you do is just so aligned that's being authentic.
00:21:31.599 --> 00:21:32.400
Oh, you know what?
00:21:32.640 --> 00:21:34.640
I'm gonna give you even a better definition.
00:21:35.599 --> 00:21:44.400
When what you think what you say and what you do are aligned.
00:21:45.680 --> 00:21:45.920
Yeah.
00:21:46.799 --> 00:21:50.400
You're not performing or producing or thank you.
00:21:50.799 --> 00:21:51.200
Yeah.
00:21:51.359 --> 00:22:03.279
I really love what you said about the gym because working out is such a um metaphor for For are you giving everything that you have?
00:22:03.920 --> 00:22:16.400
And, you know, I I get trained by someone who's um doing like a professional jujitsu fight soon and he's training to be an MMA.
00:22:16.720 --> 00:22:20.480
And he doesn't look at me like I'm 73 years old.
00:22:20.640 --> 00:22:26.319
He watches me to see how much strength I have, and he just keeps giving me more weights.
00:22:26.640 --> 00:22:32.319
And I probably wouldn't go do those weights on my own, but he sees something.
00:22:32.400 --> 00:22:37.599
I mean, then I I feel excited because then I'm doing something I never thought I could do.
00:22:37.680 --> 00:22:43.599
Like I did squats holding a bar today for the first time with heavy weights, and I'm like, I'm doing it.
00:22:43.920 --> 00:22:44.559
What am I doing?
00:22:45.039 --> 00:22:46.079
Like I loved it.
00:22:46.160 --> 00:22:53.039
And but I think when you're talking about not having regrets, are we emptying ourselves fully?
00:22:53.279 --> 00:23:00.079
And in that, I think also it's a combination of are we being in alignment, which is actually efficiency.
00:23:00.480 --> 00:23:06.000
Because we're not wasting our energy trying to do, be, or say something that we're not, right?
00:23:06.319 --> 00:23:14.400
And then when we're in that alignment, are we taking action and giving everything we have so that we don't end up with regrets?
00:23:14.640 --> 00:23:17.039
So we don't live with complacency.
00:23:18.079 --> 00:23:18.799
Thank you.
00:23:19.039 --> 00:23:19.680
You know what?
00:23:19.759 --> 00:23:23.599
Again, I'll I'll really love using a sports metaphor.
00:23:23.759 --> 00:23:25.519
You just leave everything on the court.
00:23:25.759 --> 00:23:26.400
Yeah.
00:23:27.119 --> 00:23:31.039
You leave, you left everything on the court.
00:23:32.400 --> 00:23:39.519
There wasn't there there is no conversation about being able to do better.
00:23:39.599 --> 00:23:42.000
No, you just left everything on the court.
00:23:42.480 --> 00:23:43.359
And you know what?
00:23:44.000 --> 00:23:46.559
You might leave everything on the court and you might lose.
00:23:47.279 --> 00:23:48.160
That's right.
00:23:50.319 --> 00:23:52.480
So then I'm gonna give you even a better one.
00:23:53.519 --> 00:23:58.319
You do not need to win every game to win the season.
00:24:04.079 --> 00:24:12.000
Oh yeah, oh yeah, that's see in sports, all of a sudden that's accepted, normal.
00:24:12.799 --> 00:24:26.480
In real life, we love stigmatizing failure, and making mistakes is bad, and losing is not good, and judgment, we love j like.
00:24:26.720 --> 00:24:28.160
Come on, what are we doing?
00:24:28.480 --> 00:24:29.920
Please lose.
00:24:30.160 --> 00:24:30.720
You know what?
00:24:30.960 --> 00:24:39.279
In life, in sports, you'll lose more than you'll win, and you know what?
00:24:39.440 --> 00:24:40.559
That's okay.
00:24:40.880 --> 00:24:47.920
You might have a beautiful career while not having one every single game.
00:24:48.000 --> 00:24:55.920
Uh, again, hey, there's enough enough examples of Kobe Bryant, who died even way too early, right?
00:24:56.079 --> 00:25:04.319
Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Roger Federer, this uh Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo.
00:25:04.400 --> 00:25:06.000
Do you think they won all their games?
00:25:06.160 --> 00:25:09.039
Did you think they won all of their seasons?
00:25:09.279 --> 00:25:09.599
No.
00:25:10.079 --> 00:25:13.599
But they put in the but they put in the time to practice.
00:25:14.400 --> 00:25:15.279
Thank you.
00:25:16.240 --> 00:25:17.200
Thank you.
00:25:18.400 --> 00:25:21.200
And that is what, and that is what matters.
00:25:22.400 --> 00:25:27.759
Suzanne, listen, uh, on this topic, I'm gonna give you an uh a last one because again, you're gonna love it.
00:25:27.920 --> 00:25:33.119
There's one thing that all high performance athletes all share around the world.
00:25:33.359 --> 00:25:39.599
Could be whatever tennis players, basketball players, hockey players, football players, athletes.
00:25:40.000 --> 00:25:42.799
Love for the game.
00:25:43.359 --> 00:25:44.000
Yes.
00:25:44.480 --> 00:25:50.720
Me myself, I truly love this thing called life.
00:25:50.960 --> 00:26:05.839
From the moment I wake up to the moment I go to bed, every single bit of it, the adversity, the challenge, the obstacles, the questions, the doubts, the espresso in the morning, the dinner at label with my wife, every single bit about it.
00:26:06.240 --> 00:26:09.680
There's a second thing they all share worldwide.
00:26:10.319 --> 00:26:14.720
They know losing is part of the game.
00:26:14.880 --> 00:26:15.519
Yes.
00:26:15.920 --> 00:26:23.440
Uh, a couple of months ago, not even uh two, three months ago, uh at Yopath, next year it was the World Cup.
00:26:23.680 --> 00:26:29.680
Considered the highest competition in your terms, soccer, football, in our terms.
00:26:30.640 --> 00:26:42.079
There's not a I can guarantee you, there's not a single player that got eliminated or even lost the final that told himself the day after, you know what?
00:26:42.160 --> 00:26:43.279
I'm done with this.
00:26:43.440 --> 00:26:45.039
I'm not doing this anymore.
00:26:45.279 --> 00:26:45.839
Right.
00:26:46.720 --> 00:26:48.000
Not a single one.
00:26:48.240 --> 00:26:49.759
No, how can I train better?
00:26:50.480 --> 00:26:51.759
How can I learn, right?
00:26:52.480 --> 00:26:55.440
How could I but Morocco is the perfect example?
00:26:55.599 --> 00:26:58.799
Uh months ago, it was the African Cup of Nations.
00:26:58.880 --> 00:27:01.920
They were so they hosted it and they were supposed to win it.
00:27:02.160 --> 00:27:04.559
They then did lose it.
00:27:05.119 --> 00:27:05.920
And you know what?
00:27:06.079 --> 00:27:12.799
A couple of months later, at the world, they did pretty decent, and that is ownership.
00:27:13.119 --> 00:27:14.319
It does not matter.
00:27:14.400 --> 00:27:20.720
You just do you live and you learn, you do better, and you give all you got.
00:27:21.359 --> 00:27:22.319
Thank you.
00:27:22.640 --> 00:27:25.599
We're gonna have to wind down for today.
00:27:25.839 --> 00:27:33.920
I could talk to you for a really long time, but we do have to wind down, and I love to ask my guests, what do you think the purpose for life is?
00:27:34.400 --> 00:27:36.160
Oh, you know what?
00:27:36.640 --> 00:27:39.680
And I encourage everyone to do this.
00:27:40.400 --> 00:27:55.440
Being able to tell yourself at the very last moment, at the end of your life, that you did everything you wanted to do and you said everything you wanted to say.
00:27:57.039 --> 00:27:58.799
What a beautiful life that I have.
00:28:00.880 --> 00:28:02.160
I love that.
00:28:02.960 --> 00:28:07.359
Well, I know that people can pre-order your books.
00:28:07.599 --> 00:28:10.720
So do you have a way for them to do that?
00:28:10.880 --> 00:28:12.799
We'll certainly put it in the link.
00:28:13.039 --> 00:28:19.920
But do you have a way to tell us how to do that or how people can get a hold of you?
00:28:20.720 --> 00:28:26.400
Oh, you can order everything feels impossible onto the exam right after listening to this already on Amazon.
00:28:26.559 --> 00:28:26.640
Okay.
00:28:27.119 --> 00:28:37.119
By the way, by the way, to anyone that loved this conversation, you absolutely, if I have to believe people that already read it, you're gonna love the book.
00:28:37.279 --> 00:28:39.279
It's an amazing story.
00:28:39.599 --> 00:28:40.079
I love that.
00:28:40.240 --> 00:28:42.240
Say the name of your book again.
00:28:42.559 --> 00:28:46.640
Everything feels impossible until it's done.
00:28:46.960 --> 00:28:48.559
Great, I love that.
00:28:48.880 --> 00:28:52.000
Um, and how can people get a hold of you?
00:28:52.640 --> 00:28:56.559
Oh, I'm on I'm on mostly on Instagram, but I'm on TikTok too.
00:28:56.640 --> 00:29:02.240
I'm on YouTube, I'm on LinkedIn with my real name, Vincent Venombroek.
00:29:02.480 --> 00:29:04.319
On social, it's Vincent in the kitchen.
00:29:04.400 --> 00:29:10.240
And by the way, I love talking about whatever, whenever.
00:29:10.480 --> 00:29:17.039
So if you feel like reaching out about something, please do.
00:29:17.359 --> 00:29:18.720
Please do.
00:29:19.359 --> 00:29:20.640
Awesome, thank you.
