Flying in Chains
Pastor Joshua Kennedy
Take Flight Series
📖 In Philippians 1:12–21, the Apostle Paul writes from prison, yet his words are filled with confidence, joy, and purpose. Rather than focusing on his confinement, Paul celebrates the fact that the Gospel continues to advance. His imprisonment had created opportunities to reach people who otherwise may never have heard about Christ. What appeared to be a limitation became a platform for God's greater purpose.
The world often teaches that freedom is determined by circumstances. Scripture teaches something different. True freedom begins in the heart. While chains may restrict a person's movement, they cannot stop God's calling, silence His truth, or prevent His purposes from being fulfilled. Paul understood that his identity, mission, and joy were rooted in Christ rather than in his circumstances.
Join Pastor Joshua Kennedy as he teaches Flying in Chains. In this message from the Take Flight Series, you will discover that external limitations do not have to determine internal freedom. Whether facing disappointment, suffering, setbacks, unanswered questions, or difficult seasons, God's purpose remains alive and active. The Lord is fully capable of advancing His mission through people who find themselves in hard places.
This message will encourage believers who feel restricted by circumstances beyond their control. What feels like confinement may actually be preparation. What appears to be a setback may become a testimony. God often accomplishes some of His greatest work through people who choose faith over frustration and purpose over discouragement. Like Paul, believers can learn to view every situation through the lens of God's sovereignty and trust that He is still at work.
