00:00:30
Speaker 1: This is One Bill's Live presented by Calida Health.
00:00:35
Speaker 2: Hey, how we doing, Chris Brown, Steve Tasker here with you on a Tuesday. One Bill's Live is the show. Thanks for joining us. Long practice today who for the team out there went over two hours and probably due in part to the fact that they are traveling tomorrow to Pittsburgh before they undergo a joint practice on Thursday. With this, I imagine they'll do some walk through stuff tomorrow after they get to Pittsburgh, presumably even in a hotel conference room. Yeah, but nothing all that vigorous tomorrow. So they went hard today.
00:01:11
Speaker 1: They may actually just work out, you know, take them through a workout tomorrow, walk through and then work them out like in the weight room whatever, because some conditioning and certainly guys who didn't practice today, they'll get something done. But yeah, this is all a ramp up for well, hopefully what will be a better end to the weekend than we saw last weekend.
00:01:32
Speaker 2: Right, And we'll get to more on that in just a little bit. But you you were out and about on the links yesterday, Steve.
00:01:40
Speaker 1: Yeah, thirty or thirty six year of the Jim Kelly Golf Tournament. I think I played in like thirty four of them. This is a bunch of the groups. And if we were going to have a contest, see if people out there could name everybody in the in the picture.
00:01:55
Speaker 2: I see P. D.
00:01:55
Speaker 1: Wheatstraw, Yeah, Pete's in there, Red Smrriless, Jim Bow, Jim Kelly's in there obviously. Thurman, Frank Reich and John Kidd are in that picture. Leonard Smith, Chris Hale, Jimmy Richard Smith, Yeah there, and Chris Moore and Jamie Mueller is the one nobody can figure out who he is. Woody's there obviously. Who if people who watched the team during the nine he saw Woody all over the sidelines. Yeah, good group. And that's just you know, that's just a portion of the guys that were actually there. There's a ton of players there. You know, Phil Hanson, I know, Jerry Ostrowski was there, John Fiena were there. It's got a chance to say hi to those guys. Just a ton of guys. Jim uses the and and thanks to Terry Hills Golf Course, it it makes a huge Evans twenty seven holes and Jim fills them all. It used to be they put all that in an eighteen whole course, and it would take it be literally an eight hour round. Now it's only six six and a half hours, takes all day, a lot of fun. It's one of those days. And you know how Jim is, it's it's never a small event. You know, Shooter McGavin's there and Boom boomers there. I mean, I mean, Chris Berman's there. But you know, I knew it was gonna be a different You walk up, you play a hole or two, you come up, there's a tent there with some food and some music, and it's like, hey, welcome to party tent number four.
00:03:23
Speaker 2: It's gonna be one of those, one of several.
00:03:25
Speaker 1: Yes, it's one of several. So it was a huge event. Awesome. They raise a lot of money and do a lot of good things, so congratulations. It was awesome to see all the old guys. It's it really is a one of a kind event.
00:03:36
Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know you're kind enough to house a couple of them.
00:03:39
Speaker 1: So yeah, a couple of dudes stayed at the house, a couple of old the old guys, and you know, we went out to dinner and it was good to see him. It was good to see him.
00:03:47
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:03:48
Speaker 2: Uh So with respect to practice today, there was a little bit of a different look because they had to go through some roster transactions due to some injured players and the nuts and bolts of it are as follows. They had to put wide receiver Chase Claypool on injured reserve. It's been dealing with a tow injury two weeks ago. It was called a day to day injury, but he has been unable to get back on the field. He goes to IR. And then you also had Shane Bouchell placed on injured reserve. Suffered a neck injury in the preseason opener against the Bears, but was able to finish the game. And then I'm presuming they noticed something or took X rays and found something that didn't look good, so you don't want to mess around with the neck, so he too went on injured reserve. And then Brian Thompson, who we saw come out of the game with a hamstring injury on Saturday, was waived injured. So now if he clears waivers, he will revert back to the Bills and go to injured reserve as well. So down two receivers. We'll signed two receivers. They signed veteran wide receiver Demir Bird to a one year contract. This will be his ninth year in the NFL if he can somehow find a way on to Buffalo's roster. Has return experience in addition to being a receiver. Some Bills fans might remember when he was on the Patriots roster for a couple of seasons. So he is on the roster wearing jersey number eighty nine.
00:05:28
Speaker 1: Stea, there you go.
00:05:30
Speaker 2: And then they needed to get another quarterback in here, so they signed free agent Ben Denucci to a one year deal. And he started ten games for the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL last year. That was his latest most extensive action, but some might remember him being a backup with the Dallas Cowboys. He's wearing jersey number fifteen. Didn't do any teamwork today, as you might expect. He's just trying to absorb the very basics of the scheme. And then one other receiver who signed was wide receiver Dean Kane signed a one year deal. He's been in the spring leagues the last two seasons, won a USFL championship in twenty twenty three and then a UFL championship this past year with the Birmingham Stallions, so he's here as well. So those are your additions and subtractions from the Bills roster. And yeah, none of them really did a whole lot in teamwork. We did see Birdbeck for return units, so he'll factor in there. But they needed fresh legs. I mean they were dropping at the receiver position. And you won't you don't want to overtax the guys that are healthy. You got to get other people in here.
00:06:57
Speaker 1: Yeah, you gotta have guys that can take reps and help the rest of the team get get good and plus you well, here's what happens. I mean, you get you get guys hurt at one position. You bring God that's in they can't even take reps yet. So you got half the number of guys taking the same number of reps. That double the number of guys was taken. And now the half guys that are left that are healthy, they get hurt. Yeah, because they're over overworked extra So you gotta be careful about that. And it takes a minute to get these guys acclimated. So a long practice like today is a big step because it's it'll give the new guys a chance now tonight, tomorrow through an easier day, the travel day, and then on Thursday they can show up maybe contribute.
00:07:44
Speaker 2: Curtis Samuel a non participant in practice today. We don't have word as to why. Maybe it's a veteran rest day. We don't know, so nothing new there in terms of details as to why he was a spectator of practice. Daikwon Jones back in the practice. That was good to see. Lawrence Keys got a little shaken up on a one on one play and exited practice early. And then Eddie Yulafochio was back practicing, but he's in a red non contact jersey. He is coming back from a rib injury, so you understand why he'd be wearing a non contact jersey. Ribs can be tender. And then we saw Matt Maloneld finished practice early, did not finish, so we don't have word onto why that was. Trainers were over there talking to him, so we'll have to figure out what's a foot there and see if there's an official report.
00:08:43
Speaker 1: Didn't seem to be didn't seem to be massive or catastrophic, but.
00:08:46
Speaker 2: He and it wasn't lower body.
00:08:48
Speaker 1: Yeah, it looked like it looked like they were examining his arm. He I saw him over there doing a some push ups and kind of locking his arms out and holding himself up in a plank position. But they took his helmet and said you're done for the day, and so he just watched. You know, you hate to see that, but I don't think it doesn't look catastrophic. So we'll see.
00:09:12
Speaker 2: Yeah, So we'll wait on word on that as well. Joe Brady addressed the media prior to practice today the offensive coordinator, and naturally he was asked a lot of questions about Ben Denucci because this is a guy that's going to have to get up to speed as quickly as possible. He said, with respect to Saturday's game, Danucci is going to get a set menu of plays, so obviously they'll whittle it down to something that's manageable for him to execute in the game Saturday. So it'll be a limited menu so that he can master those ten, twelve, fifteen plays while he's in the game on Saturday.
00:09:58
Speaker 1: That's really hard because you don't know what situate down in distances you're gonna be and it's gonna be right.
00:10:03
Speaker 2: I eventually haven't played with the guys you're lining up with.
00:10:06
Speaker 1: There's all of that going on. You got to feel for this guys, because these guys have been out here working for six months, putting stuff in, thinking about it. You give him a menu. It's got to have. You got to have first and ten plays, second and short second and long first and long third and long third and short short yardst goal. You gotta have a whole toolbox to go in and actually run plays. Now, I get it. You could just say, now, we're not gonna do anything. I not worry about the down and distance. We saw what happened. That looks like last week against Chicago. Right, you don't want to look like that. But you don't want to turn the guy out there with nothing on his plate, because that's that's not fair either. Yeah, you're setting him up to fail and the rest of the team up to fail. So man, oh man, As a coach, I've that's a that's a job. You gotta talk, you gotta kid, You gotta take some time to get to know the guy. What do you like, what do you don't like? You think you'd run this? What about this? You know all of that. Yeah, that's a lot to do. In three days, four days.
00:11:05
Speaker 2: Right, So he'll be jamming and crammon today tomorrow on the travel tomorrow night, and you know he'll probably he might be able to take some reps in the joint practice, which would be a good setup for Saturday because he's going to play on Saturday, according to coach Brady. So that's kind of where it's at right now. And look, it's not gonna be easy. And the two receivers are in a similar boat because the team is down two wide outs who went to ir. They might be down another with Lawrence Keys leaving practice early today. We'll have to see what that's about. So Dean Kine and Tamir Bird are gonna have to get rolling here too and hit the ground running. It's a lot of extra work for the quarterbacks, coach Ronald Curry, you know, receivers, coach and Henry So they're the ones that have to put in the extra hours with these guys to make sure they know what they're doing out there. And it's one of those necessary evils that can crop up when you have injuries at a position.
00:12:13
Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm I'm really interested to see what this next game looks like. Certainly there's nobody in the locker room that like the way they looked getting their heads caved in on Saturday. So but they this is different as well, because they're going to be practicing against the Steelers Thursday, and those practices tend to be a little bit you know, chippy, right.
00:12:35
Speaker 2: I did ask coach Brady this morning. I said, do you have anything that in terms of what's on your to do list here in the preseason that's better suited for a joint practice where you can control the environment to some degree and work with their defensive coordinator on certain things which you know you can't do in the preseason game. And he said, yeah, well, we'll divvy it up accordingly. But I may want to get certain play calls against certain looks, and we can collaborate on that and run plays against specific looks to see how it looks. These two teams aren't playing each other in the regular season, so it's nothing. You know, you're not unearthing any grandiose secrets of any kind, and so you want to get the work in. That's what you do. He also mentioned scramble drills, like that's something you really don't want to be executing in the preseason because you're putting your quarterback at risk in a joint practice, you're not. So they might run some of that on Thursday against the Steelers because they know their quarterback is not going to get hit. It's against you know, right of the rules, no touching the quarterbacks.
00:13:51
Speaker 1: That's right, and that's you know there is We've said it, we've heard it for years, and now it's becoming more and more prevalent. I had a list of the like, what was it sixteen teams or thirty or twenty four teams that were all having some sort of joint practice during the season. I think it's only eight teams that did not.
00:14:08
Speaker 2: San Francisco had to cancel theirs with the Saints yesterday because they have twenty three guys injured. So the last thing you want to do is go into an intense joint practice and come out with six more guys in.
00:14:20
Speaker 1: Right, that's right, twenty three out of ninety.
00:14:23
Speaker 2: Wow, that's Niners are beat up.
00:14:26
Speaker 1: What are they doing out there? It happens to them every regular hitting that's what That's what happens to him in the regular season.
00:14:32
Speaker 2: Two.
00:14:32
Speaker 1: Yeah, they got to do some soul searching out not wrong about that. Yeah, by that, did you read the Jeff Coltenak just put this up in our chat. Nathan Peterman back in the National Football League.
00:14:45
Speaker 2: And back with the Raiders. Back with the Raiders. Let's go around the NFL and we'll lead with that. Around the NFL brought to you by Kalida Health, the official healthcare system of the Buffalo Bills. And yeah, Nathan Peterman was released by the Saints last week and has latched on with the Raiders, a team he had played with previously. So the career continues for the former Bill's third round pick. They made room for him on the roster by waving and waived injured was wide receiver Keelan DAWs. So, so there you go. Other news around the league as the world turns in Gotham, Jets pass rushier Hassan Reddick, as we told you yesterday, requested a trade from the Jets. Jets GM Joe Douglas issues a statement that says we're not trading him and they remain at an impass. So Steve, I've said it on this show before, I'll say it again. The Jets excel at self saidbotage, they knew this guy wanted a new contract from the Eagles, and that's why the Eagles were trading him, because they didn't want to pay him any more than the fourteen in a quarter he was set to make this year. The Jets claim they had an agreement in principle that Reddick would show up to camp and they would work on an improved deal for him. That is being refuted by the Reddick camp, who said no such discussion was had, and we wanted a new deal from the jump. So here we are. And you could say it's not a distraction for the players because they haven't seen hide nor hair of him at all this offseason since the trade occurred. But and look, they got Jermaine Johnson, they have Will McDonald, two former first round picks for pass rushers that they can line up on the outside. But after letting Bryce Huff go, who actually signed with the Eagles for three years and fifty one million seventeen a year, Hassan Reddick, they trade for and give up a third round pick, and he wants probably more money than that. You could have just signed your own twenty six year old in the prime of his career and been better off.
00:17:15
Speaker 1: That seems dumb. Now maybe the kid going Huff. Maybe Huff is not going to do well. Maybe they know they're maybe they're right. Maybe Huff is not worth the money that the Eagles paid him. Maybe Hassan Reddick's pretty good player. That's hard to that's a hard sell, particularly if you, I mean, everybody knew the story with Reddick. He wanted a new deal. It's time to get one.
00:17:39
Speaker 2: Let's go probably his last chance to get one in that's right.
00:17:43
Speaker 1: He's not waiting around for it. And the Jets had to know that. They had to know that, Yeah, and to get him into this position. And now Hassan Reddick could play hardball with him, no question. Maybe he didn't. Maybe he told him that and maybe says he's not giving me. He says, all think about coming in or whatever. Everything thought about it and didn't. Whatever. If you're Hassan Reddick, you're you're risking the fourteen point four or so that you're making this year, if you're gonna hold out, plus a lot of fine money that he's not that he's paying. He's got to he's he's got to be willing to do that. That's a hard ask. And if he does, hey, bless his heart. Man, he's making a point.
00:18:28
Speaker 2: He's clearly dug in here. But the Jets are the one kind of holding the cards because they're not losing money every day. That's right, You're not gonna have the player. But he can only push this so far. Like week ten or eleven now is probably the cutoff because you need at least six games played to get in a crude season, right, So if he wants an a crude season for his pension and everything else, when he's done playing, he's gonna have to show up at some point, might not be till November.
00:19:00
Speaker 1: If he doesn't show up, does the contract.
00:19:08
Speaker 2: That's a good question, because I'm sure they, I think, because if he doesn't reserve, did not report.
00:19:13
Speaker 1: Yeah, if if, if he doesn't show up at all, however, the contract's still enforced for the next time he sets foot on the field. It's the same deal. So he'll at some point it'll behoove him to show up and hold in instead of hold out, which might have been a better move to begin with.
00:19:29
Speaker 2: Yeah, because that's what Matthew Judon's doing in New England, and teams are calling the New England Patriots about him. Left right in the center saying, uh, is that does that guy want to go somewhere else?
00:19:43
Speaker 4: Right? Uh?
00:19:44
Speaker 2: Because we see him arguing with girod Mayo on the sidelines of practice. It looked too happy. I would be happy to help you with that.
00:19:52
Speaker 1: Was just had a today, is it?
00:19:55
Speaker 2: Yes? His outline for preseason games.
00:19:58
Speaker 1: If you join, if you're gonna have a joint practice, he told his players. If you're a starter and you get into a fight in one of these joint practices, you will play the entirety of that preseason game. If you're not a starter, you won't play at all.
00:20:13
Speaker 2: Yeah. For fighting, Yes, If you fight at the joint practice and you're you're a non starter, you don't play it all. If you are a starter and you fight, you play the whole preseason game. I gotta tell you. If you're in a position battle though, there's a strategy you can employ.
00:20:32
Speaker 5: Here.
00:20:34
Speaker 2: Let's think about this. Let's just say you've got a guy on the Patriots who has been a long time starter. Let's just say Kendrick Bourne. It's coming off a major knee injury and he's fighting a young player for like a roster spot. Right, do you get in a fight so you play the whole game and that guy doesn't. Yeah, you know what I mean, maybe bold strategy cotton see.
00:21:05
Speaker 1: How it plays out. Maybe, Yeah, what if you're what if you're in a fifty to fifty battle and you say, listen that guy you know, yeah, that's yeah, that's tough.
00:21:18
Speaker 2: You're the running back, you're the number two running back, the number three running backs breathing down your neck. Well you're not a starter, I guess, so that wouldn't apply there. Yeah, I don't know. I wonder if there's some strategy employed by some of these Patriots players.
00:21:34
Speaker 1: Or you could or you could get if you got your what are your homeboys on the other squad say hey, pick a fight with my boy.
00:21:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, do me a favor. Just start hauling off on him. Yeah, so he doesn't play at all. You could do it. Don't think that hasn't been thought about.
00:21:51
Speaker 3: That.
00:21:52
Speaker 1: Let me say that a little nefarious. Yeah, that's a little New Yorker e to me. But that's got it. You've seen, I've heard the league is full of stories of that ILK.
00:22:05
Speaker 2: Had.
00:22:05
Speaker 1: There was a guy. There was a story where guys used to have a pizza. You know, they got a guy who's they're in competition with, who struggles with his weight. They send a pizza to his room every night at training camp. Just pay pay for the pizza to be delivered. There you go, bro.
00:22:22
Speaker 2: Enjoy Yeah uh AFC East News Dolphins are releasing veteran defensive tackle to your Tart. He was a free agent signing in the offseason as they tried to fill the void left by Christian Wilkins. They signed about six defensive tackles. Tart is a good player, but he does have a reputation around the league of not being a great teammate and not being very coachable. So you wonder if those character issues cropped up here as he has been released by the Dolphins, because he's certainly a capable player allent wise, some other stuff may have gotten in the way there. Vikings' first round draft choice quarterback J. J. McCarthy has a torn meniscus in his knee. It's going to require surgery, and it's looking more and more like Sam Darnold, the third pick in the twenty eighteen NFL Draft, is going to be the starting quarterback for your Minnesota Vikings in Week one.
00:23:32
Speaker 1: Well, good luck, Sam, that's it's really interesting. That's too bad for JJ McCarthy too. That's you know, a guy, you want to see him at least have a shot at competing. And he had the report I read said he felt it during the game and he didn't feel like it was that big a deal. And then it didn't go away. So he goes to the trainers and all of a sudden he's under the knife. He's going to go in. Depending on the severity of the tear, can be as little is four weeks and as much as obviously could miss the entire season. I doubt that'll be the release.
00:24:06
Speaker 2: It could be the whole season for a tournament.
00:24:08
Speaker 1: I doubt that is the case. That's the worst case scenario if he has complications. But we're the least it can be is four weeks.
00:24:14
Speaker 2: Well, we're less than four weeks from the opener. I mean we're twenty six days away, so he's probably missing the opener.
00:24:19
Speaker 1: Yeah, And that's just I mean, you talk, that's minimum for to being back on the field, because if if it's the four week thing, you think he's a couple of weeks off his feet. Then he gets back on, he gets back and gets sharp again, starts practicing again. You know that's after that. Yeah, you know, so it'll be probably ten days to two weeks after surgery that he can even do anything. Two weeks after that's in the best case scenario. But if it's worse and the terror is more significant than they suspected, Yeah, then it's could be longer. Take a guess.
00:24:55
Speaker 2: So that is around the NFL brought to you by Colida Health, official healthcare system of the Buffalo Bills. Topic of discussion for you today deals with Buffalo's preseason game number two. What has to change for the Bills going into preseason game number two on Saturday against the Steelers. You let us know at aight oh three oh five fifty won eight eight eight five fifty two five fifty the numbers to get on board. I guess this would be your top priority. Got to clean that up list basically from last week's game. So you let us know. Got open lines for you? Aight oh three oh five fifty one eight eight eight five fifty two five fifty the toll free calling number if you're outside the Buffalo seven to one to six calling area.
00:25:41
Speaker 1: Yeah, what are your thoughts off the top of your head? I mean, I know, you wrapped up this game yesterday and you did the game and you were like me, I was doing the game on TV and it was like, whoof, Yeah, I think they.
00:25:51
Speaker 2: I think the offensive line has to get some traction in the run game. Again, I did get the sense that the Bears coaching staff had done a little game planning. It felt that way to me. I understand on offense, you're trying to make Caleb Williams comfortable, give them a little confidence, maybe a bootleg him out, and you actually have some stuff installed as part of a mini game plan perhaps, But the run game, granted, they were going against the number one run defense in football last year, that's what the Bears had, and they're larger than the same in their front seven. But I think the run game has to get some better push off the line because they did not win the battle at the line of scrimmage at all, right, And I think they've got to open up some more consistent holes in the run game. To me, that's what has to change first and foremost, because when that was not working, I mean it was long down and distance almost every second and third down the game.
00:26:50
Speaker 1: Yeah they Yeah, it was the big guys up front both sides of the ball, offense and defense. The Bears played really well up front. The Bills did not, And that was their ripple effect. Was was evident, I thought too, and I and I talked to some of the guys this yesterday at Jim's tournaments, some of the old guys about the mindset coming back off of a run where you've been playoff year, when the when the division playoffs, win the division again playoffs. You won the division a third time in its playoffs, Now you want it a fourth time. You're still you know, you're still winning a playoff game every year getting there, and then to come back and try and dredge up some passion for a meaningless preseason game where you know you're only going to play part of it. That showed to me that's kind of where I felt like they were at LA. There was no urgency in it because they just they're a team like that the one I saw on Saturday as a team that's like, man, I do not want to play in these meaningless games. And when you when you don't want to play, it shows. And it did show, I thought, probably on Saturday, and this sport, it does, And I and so I thought I saw some guys. And let's face it, it starts from the top players on both sides of the ball and trickles down. They know they're not gonna play very much. They know they're not gonna be asked to do too much. The minute anything goes against them, they're gonna be jerked out of the game. They're not gonna get a chance to win the game when they you know, in the first quarter there is you know, they're gonna have to watch all these other guys. So those guys probably came out and said, man, I'm just get this, get me out of here, you know. And I remember vividly thinking a lot like that when we were on a team that was going to the playoffs every year and going to the actually going to the Super Bowl every year. You come out there in the preseason, you're going zero to four and you do not care. Yeah, and as bad as it is for the fans to witness that and all the question marks that arises, you're just not getting those guys to do it.
00:28:50
Speaker 2: Now. I don't know.
00:28:51
Speaker 1: Maybe Sean McDermott will have, you know, a different plan, and he'll talk to those guys and they'll say Okay, let's let's show up here today and then they might but there's I'm not gonna play right.
00:29:03
Speaker 2: Yeah. I wonder if I think what happened on Saturday could impact the original plans maybe as to how much people are playing.
00:29:16
Speaker 1: It depends not playing, and it depends on how accurate I am. I could be off base.
00:29:20
Speaker 2: And how Thursday looks could have an impact on Saturday too.
00:29:25
Speaker 1: It could be I could be completely out of line and not not know what I'm talking about. But if you're Sean McDermott, what he sees and the and the reasons he attributes to the the way the game went Saturday, are gonna say a lot about what happens. Not really maybe not so much on Saturday this week or on Thursday this week against Steelers, but certainly yesterday, today and tomorrow and Thursday when you do go in against the Steelers. I think that's I think that's affects him. Now. I don't know that the big plan is affected all too much. He'll just kind of kind of wait and see he'll get another chance to rebound and show something. But man, oh man, you're right, this is something that makes you thinking, Okay, we got to watch this now.
00:30:10
Speaker 2: Gotta take a break here, but when we come back, we go to your phone calls at eight oh three oh five fifty one, eight and eight five fifty two, five point fifty. That's the numbers. Those are the numbers to get on board. Got open lines for you there. We'll lead off with Mike in Eerie when we return here on One Bill's Live, presented by co Lot of Health, It's Buffalo Bills Radio. All right, welcome back to One Bill's Live. Chris Brown, Steve Tasker with you here on a Tuesday where we are asking you what has to change for the Bills going into preseason game number two on Saturday against the Steelers. Steelers, in case you didn't know, they lost their preseason open as well to Houston by a final of twenty to twelve last Friday. But let's go to the phones where we do have open lines for you at eight h three oh five fifty one eighty eight five fifty two five fifty And to Mike in Eerie, what's up? Mike?
00:31:17
Speaker 6: Yes, I had a question for Steve about the new kickoff format. Sure, okay, uh, what if this new kickoff format was in place back in nineteen ninety nine. Would it have been possible for Tennessee to run the Music City Miracle play? It just looks like there's no room now for trick plays.
00:31:43
Speaker 2: Uh.
00:31:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, they could have tried it a punt, it knows it. No, it was a kickoff. It was Yeah, the bill was Rob Johnson just went in the Indians on the that's right, Yes they could run it. And I would imagine there's been a lot of conjecture by even by people who might sit next to me at this radio show, that you're going to see a lot, a lot of misdirection. Maybe you might see some throwback stuff, might see some throwback stuff put in week one when when the gloves are off, when it really does count. I think right now it is as vanilla as the offenses and defense in the NFL. I don't think of trying anything. You haven't seen stunts. You haven't seen scissors moves. You haven't seen where guys will cross over on their coverage lanes. You haven't seen the coverage team try and confuse the return team with where guys are going to be. You haven't seen trap blocks or cross blocks from the front line of the kicking return kick return team. It's been very vanilla so far, and I think you're going to see a lot more of more complexity in the return game coming up. Yes. The answer though, is yes, they could have done, and I think you can when you see this go, you'll be able to see easily that there's a space for that to happen in this new kickoff rule. But we haven't seen it yet.
00:33:04
Speaker 2: I I like the idea of misdirection because you're so close together. I think there will be some of that, at least attempted. Will it be successful, I don't know, but it's possible. Anything under the sun is fair game, and that's why nobody's showing any of it yet, because if they feel they have a play that they like that can take advantage of the situation, they're going to wait to use it in a game that actually counts if it's gonna help them win a football game. Right. They're not showing that in week two of the preseason. He kidding me, No way, Jose, They're not doing that. Eight oh three oh five point fifty one eight eight five fifty two five fifty then number to get on board. What has to change for the Bills going into preseason game number two, What is at the top of your priority list that you want to see and feel better about when the Bills take on the Steelers at Akrasure Stadium in downtown Pittsburgh. There is an update from NFL Networks Ian Rappaport about Brandon Ayuk. He of the trade conversation for what amounts to over a week now still hasn't happened. He says the Steelers and forty nine Ers have a deal on a potential trade and Pittsburgh is in a good place on an Ayuk contract, so a new contract has largely been hammered out too with Pittsburgh. If San Francisco gives the final sign off, it's done. Sanfran has an offer out to Ayuk on a long term deal for him to stay, but he has not accepted that. So clearly it's not enough money.
00:34:42
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's I'll say this, guys more and we and this is the time of year for this to be the conversation. So maybe I'm just more aware of it and we talk about it every day. So it just seems to me there are more guys out there willing to play hardball with the club. Back it used to you never used to hear guys doing this and they you know, the money wasn't what it is today, although commensurately speaking, it wasn't. It wasn't bad money. But that's the only leverage a player has is to withhold his services. The hold in is the interesting aspect of this for me. I don't know why guys would hold out rather than hold in because it's cost him a ton of money in the meantime and the club has no recourse. Then they got to pay them. They have to pay au. What is how much is it for this?
00:35:34
Speaker 2: Yeah?
00:35:35
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like fourteen isn't it. It's seventeen million. As a player, I'm not walking off with that because that's a year of your salary that you negotiate, and already it was a big contract when you signed it. The first time, I stand I stay in there, hold in and yeah it's awkward, yeah, no fun. But you got to do that same thing with Hassan Reddick. Holding out is not the smart thing to do.
00:35:57
Speaker 2: Is holding in? I don't know, I I it's Tuesday, it's Tuesday today. Obviously do we see Ayuk in Pittsburgh on Saturday not playing? But do we see him there with the team on Saturday.
00:36:14
Speaker 1: What do you think, Well, this is this would be the best time for Ayuk because he gets the new deal and they get enough time in the preseason to get him acclimated and on day one he's your guy. You the longer you wait, now you're starting to talk about, well, now we're gonna have to really cram these last week of the regulars of the preseason to see we can get him some reps and some practice, and we don't know how it's gonna go. And then you're playing catchup. But now it's the perfect time. But like I said, you're getting you gotta unlike the Jets who trade for the guy, no one he wants a new deal, don't want to pay him the new deal. You give up a third rounder. Now you don't have the guy or the third rounder, or you're the guy that you could have signed. Yeah, the Niners don't want the Steelers. You don't want to give some draft picks for Ayuk and then pay him the thirty million dollars and then expect the guy to be good enough right out of the box. With Russ Wilson and Justin Fields at quarterback to justify a thirty million dollar plus a year contract. That's a big ask. That is a huge ask. You think Brandon Ayuk is gonna play good enough right out of the wrapper in Pittsburgh with Russ and Justin Fields at quarterback to justify like the Steph Diggs trade, A one to four and a seven.
00:37:33
Speaker 2: A one to four of five and a six, one four.
00:37:35
Speaker 1: Five, six and thirty million bucks a year. Man, I don't see it.
00:37:43
Speaker 2: It's steep. I mean, Pittsburgh's only about fourteen and a half under the cap, and we have to remember that this cap room right now is only based on the top fifty one salaries. Once you get to the regular season, they all count, including the active squad, so it's kind of a fictitious number. They don't have fourteen and a half, They probably have more like seven. So they're gonna have to get pretty creative, Yeah, taking on Ayuk, And that's why I believe somebody else will be going the other way, because you're gonna need some dollars out for all the dollars that are gonna be coming.
00:38:18
Speaker 1: In massive deals, massive dollars out right, I mean, as you know, not just so that that's the that's the to me, that's the hiccup in the Ayuk problem. It's not it's not necessarily the Niners, although you know, obviously they've got their own they've got their own you know, problems, their own issues with it. But it's the Steelers coughing up. You know, they're they're picking up some good drafting.
00:38:43
Speaker 2: They seem to have a problem with it. They're in they're in waiting see mode right now.
00:38:45
Speaker 1: I mean you're talking about listen, if they were going to get money out for money in. They only have a couple of guys on their on their team that have cap hits like that.
00:38:55
Speaker 2: A lot of their frontline starters are on their rookie deals, Pickings, Fryarmouth, Naji Harris, you know, yeah, I mean even fields, even fields and Russell Wilson aren't making three point two.
00:39:08
Speaker 1: Yeah there, But you're talking about Naji Harris is four point one, Landon, Robert Peanuts is four point five, Chris Boswell's four point seven, Nate Herbig's five point five. I'm going up the list.
00:39:22
Speaker 2: It's TJ. Watt and everybody else. I mean, that's really what it is.
00:39:25
Speaker 1: Well, it was a couple of guys TJ's thirty, Cameron Hayward's twenty two, Minka Fitzpatrick's twenty one, Larry Ogan Joby is thirteen to two, James Daniels is eleven, Isaac Seamalo ten point one. They so those are guys, like, I mean, throw those guys overboard or trade him to San fran.
00:39:48
Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know they're doing that.
00:39:50
Speaker 1: Ogan Joby's a defensive end making thirteen. He might not be able to get on the field in San Francisco.
00:39:57
Speaker 2: Yeah, So you're not paying a guy three team that can't get on.
00:40:01
Speaker 1: The field, not with that crew in San Francisco. They're neck deep in dudes.
00:40:06
Speaker 2: And big salaries. Yeah. So yeah, we'll see, we'll see what comes of it. It's a puzzle, it is, and I don't know that they've got all the pieces. Let's get back to the phones though, as we're talking about what you need to see in Buffalo's second preseason game that you did not see in the preseason opener. It's a gym in Florida. Next, what do you got for us?
00:40:26
Speaker 7: Jim? Oh, Hello, do they I've got one thing that I've bothered me over the even last year during the games was that we are very predictable, especially in the run. I was looking at the game this last weekend, and five times in a row we ran on first down and the total yard on average less than one yard. I think that lots of times. That's because we're so obvious. If I was coaching against the Bills, I know right away every first down, get up there of the line and let's tackle.
00:41:12
Speaker 1: Well, I'll say this and Jim and You're probably right about the Chicago game this last week. And one of the reasons for that is they don't really expect I mean, they're not trying to fool the Bears, right, So this game planning, to the stuff you hear about game planning and everything is probably one reason for that. Now, last year, you can say what you want about when Joe Brady took over and they started running the football and they ran it on every first down and all of that, but you're going to have a hard time selling that is a problem when they went six and oh down the stretch or five and oh down the stretch, six and one down the stretch with Joe Brady and running the ball like that. So they may be predictable, but you still got to stop them, and teams were struggling to do that. The run game was extremely affect dip down the stretch last year. So yeah, uh, I get what you're saying, particularly in the Chicago game last week, but as a general problem, like even in last year, you have to convince me of that.
00:42:14
Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, we do know under Joe Brady they were they were fifty two percent run team. But I do remember a few games mixed in here and there over those last seven where they made a point to go against any tendency of running on first down and they were throwing it. There was like a game or two mixed in there to break tendency. But I get what you're saying, we're up against the break here. But when we come back, Mark and West Seneca elite us off. What do you need to see in preseason game number two for the Bills on Saturday against the Steelers, And maybe you didn't see or weren't happy with in preseason game number one eight oh three zero five point fifty one eight eight eight five fifty two five fifty those are the numbers to get on board. And don't forget we got Josh Allen who addressed the media after practice today coming your way in hour number two. Here in One Bill's Live, presented by Colida Health, It's Buffalo Bills Radio. All right, welcome back to One Bill's Live. Chris Brown Steve Tasker with you get your new Bills Mafia Tailgate stuff. Speaker 1: Yeah, here's the thing, a ton of burgers in there. But then you also have something for all the finger quote others who don't like burgers, and.
00:44:19
Speaker 2: Yeah, well people that want to maybe gourmet it up a little bit right or buffalo it up.
00:44:23
Speaker 1: They want to level it up, as I get it, no.
00:44:26
Speaker 2: Problem exclusively at Wegmans. Check it out when you get a chance. Let's get back to the phones at eight oh three oh five fifty and go to Mark and West Seneca. What do you got for his Mark?
00:44:34
Speaker 8: Hey, Chris, sy Steve, how are you today? Good? Good? Always good to hear it? I got a couple of things. As far as your question, Uh, it's obvious. The compete level it was really concerning. I haven't seen a Bills team compete like that in a preseason in quite a while. And in preseason games where everything's vanilla, you're not scheming anything and all that you know, McDermott's teams come out and they understand you want to make a team, you got to compete, and it just wasn't there on any level, first, second, third stringers at all. And I'm a little concerned and maybe in talk me off to Lodge about we've had such a turnover on the roster, is this an indication that maybe we have taken a little bit of a step back and overall talent in our second and third liners that we haven't seen in quite a while, because we've been pretty good and we've really competed hard for several years under McDermott. So that's one of my questions. And the other question I had. I wasn't at the game, but I was a little taken back by seeing us kick the ball into the end zone twice. Now, Smiley is going to have to go a long way for me to like him again after the season our special teams put in last year, And I'm sitting watching the game and I'm thinking, you know, we're at the base level of this new kickoff thing. Who cares if the ball is taken back for a touchdown? You have to find out even the basics of the guys you're putting out there, if they can understand leverage and proper body positioning depending on where the balls get before you can even start thinking about scheming plays and how to attack or even how to return. And was that a product of the ball being caught up in that wind that was out there on Saturday or did we just literally kick the ball into the end zone and basically take a couple reps away that we desperately need. So that those are my things that I had taken away from the game. Thanks guys, sure, I do know.
00:46:35
Speaker 2: There was one kick that got away from Bass with the wind that is back and it went into the end zone and that was not the intention. He put it up in the air, the wind took it and that was the end of it.
00:46:47
Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm with you. You don't want to do that. You want to even put the ball in play. In fact, that's why the league has incentivized the rules for both teams. You got to kick it in the field to play. If you kick it in the end zone and it bounces out of the end zone, which it usually does, you know, they get the ball all the way out at the was it the forty or something? Right, is the thirty? They get the ball of the thirty if the ball kicks through the end zone and if the receiving team goes back there and downs it. They only get it at the twenty. So they incentivize the kicking team bringing it out, and they penalize the kicking team for kicking it out of the end zone. So for not bringing it out, I'm sorry for the return team. They incentivized it for them to bring the ball out of the end zone and to kick it out of the end zone in a preseason game. I think that was a mistake, no question about it. And I think and one of them did get away from bass and we didn't realize how bad the wind was out there until it's whipping, until you know, part way through the first quarter. In midway through the second, we were like, oh we could We couldn't figure out why the problem, what the problem was. It was like, oh, you look at the flags, they're like and straight up, I mean literally they're like going up the flag pole, off the end of the pole. So it was a bad day out. So that did have some effect on it. I'm with you though. The depth, the depth of the talent, well that remains to be seen. I like where they're I like the guys they've got. There's no question they made a concerted effort to beef up the second The athleticism and youth of the starters, no question about it.
00:48:28
Speaker 2: So it's more inexperienced. You can stamp that on this team.
00:48:31
Speaker 1: Right, it is less experienced, particularly on this team. Now they've got some Bacond guys to bring in the second team guys. You can make it a case that some of them will come in with some experience, but not in this system. That to me may be true, but that doesn't scare me because of what I've been talking about with you know, the strength of Sean McDermott and the way this coaching staff has been in his tenure here. They are the best player development staff we've ever seen in Buffalo. I mean, you get guys in here, they get better. So the key to this season for me is gonna be if they can find ways to win games early in the year, because I think they're gonna be better and better and better by the end of the season. Now hopefully, you know, you got to stay healthy and all that, But by the end of the season, if everybody is staying healthy, I think this has a chance to be a really talented team and a really tough out. So I think early on in the adjustment period, when you know you're finally doing it for real, I think there are some question marks that we haven't seen the certainly haven't seen the answers to yet in the preseason.
00:49:37
Speaker 2: The team is definitely less experienced behind the starters. I don't think there's any debate about that whatsoever. Because you're talking about Cole Bishop potentially being a second team player. Dorian Williams is a second team player. You're talking about on the offensive line, Cedric Van Prian, Grainger, Alec Anderson. I mean, these guys are probably on the roster. Richard gag might make a run at it and play a regular season game in the league. You're younger, You're gonna be less experienced, and if you have to turn to those guys, you have to take it with a grain of salt. They're not gonna be perfect just due to a lack of experience. Sometimes the best lessons are the one learned in hard fashion, and there might be some hard lessons ahead of some of those guys if they have to step in and play. So yes, but this is the depth of the team is talented, but it is unquestionably more inexperienced.
00:50:31
Speaker 1: That's right, And that's kind of where we're sitting. And certainly it's hard to be encouraged by the way the game turned out on Saturday, but there are some you know, there's always these preseason caveats that you gotta throw in. They didn't game plan, The starters knew they were coming out, and like I said earlier in the show, when you got a team like the Bills, who are in it every year, and in the conversation, you got a guy that's in the MVP conversation every year. You got an offensive line that never missed a snap together last year, and they're playing in all these big games, and they did for two months at the end of the season last year, and then they roll out here and it's like, this means what they look like they did on Saturday, it's just and it doesn't mean. It doesn't mean their excuse it's an excuse, doesn't mean they can use it as an excuse. It's their job to show up ready to play. But man, oh man, I get it. But you know that's enough. You know, let's let you. You need to turn it on now and say, Okay, you've looked like that. You better have some pride, bounce back.
00:51:40
Speaker 2: Got to take a break here. Our number two coming your way. We will take more of your phone calls. We're also going to check in with what Josh Allen had to say after practice today he addressed the media. We'll bring those comments to you as well in our number two coming up next year on One Bill's Live, presented by Colida of Health. It's Buffalo Bill's Radio.
00:52:40
Speaker 1: This this One Bill's Live, presented by Calllida Health.
00:52:45
Speaker 2: All right, here we are our number two on a Tuesday. Chris Brown, Steve Tasker with you. One Bill's Live is the show. And uh for one of our callers earlier who said they looked too predictable on first down. Just for the record, last year, because I looked it up during the break, Bills were fifty three percent run on first down. Last year forty seven percent pass. So take it for what it's worth, but pretty balanced. Yeah, on first down. I would like to see it. If it was when Joe Brady had had the offense, I can do that. Let's see what that is, because that's when that might take me a minute.
00:53:19
Speaker 1: But even so, if it's more run heavy on first down when Joe Brady took over, who cares the guy went six and one down the stretch when they had to win and lost overtime in a rainstorm in Philly. I mean they were they were getting it done, so hopefully you almost wish. Yeah, they are predictable, and they were still rubbing their faces, rubbing their opponents' faces in it.
00:53:45
Speaker 2: I can I can compartmentalize that for you. I'll get those numbers in a second.
00:53:51
Speaker 1: That's what I want, you know, you know what I mean, yep, Because if you're predictable and you're still going six and one down the stretch, that's like arrogant, right a little bit. Yeah, yeah, here, here's.
00:54:06
Speaker 2: What I'm gonna do.
00:54:07
Speaker 1: Right, I'm gonna run the ball right here and you're not gonna be able to stop me. We're gonna do that every first down, Bruce Leave, I mean, that's that should be like a vote of confidence.
00:54:19
Speaker 2: Goodness, gracious, Yeah, it's uh, it's gonna be higher, is it? Yeah? Right now?
00:54:27
Speaker 4: Public?
00:54:28
Speaker 1: But that's it. But I get.
00:54:29
Speaker 2: Sixty Hey, run on first down two thirds of the time.
00:54:34
Speaker 1: They ran on first down down the stretch last year as an our call, let's not him from Florida called in and said they went six and one.
00:54:45
Speaker 2: And I think they were there. They were a top five rushing offense in the NFL over those last seven weeks. And I think we also have to remember the Dallas game screwed skewed the numbers. The numbers skewed the numbers considerably, as they ran it over forty times in that game total, so that that was so take it with a grain of salt. I gotta say that, but it's probably a legit. Sixty forty you know.
00:55:11
Speaker 1: That's a legit flex to me running the ball forty times on a on another.
00:55:16
Speaker 2: In Ryan stop us, that's a flex. Yeah. Uh, we got to get to the comments from one Josh Allen, he addressed he addressed the media after practice today, A long practice out there on the grass field, over two hours, maybe in part because there's a travel day tomorrow. But Josh has a new guy in the quarterback room in the form of Ben Denucci, who signed with the club. So let's get the comments from Josh Allen as he addressed the media after practice today.
00:55:45
Speaker 9: Now, I was excited. I wanted to keep going. I haven't been able to throw that much in a long time. Got into a little root rhythm, a little groove. It's a That's what I love doing the most, throwing the football. So I got to do that a lot.
00:55:58
Speaker 4: Yeesh, it was cool.
00:56:00
Speaker 9: Now there.
00:56:02
Speaker 2: What's the sense of.
00:56:05
Speaker 10: Overall urgency? Keep him that? Sean talked about the team that playing up to it's the build standard time.
00:56:12
Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean, we we have to have urgency in this building. That's no doubt about it. I think guys are our film that agency now just understanding, you know, going back looking on film, and it wasn't all bad on film. Obviously the score is the score. It's preseason. But our standard shouldn't be conditioned by the result of what's going on. You know, we have to continue to uphold what we do and that's playoff caliber and that's what coach McDermott has taled to this building the last eight years that he's been here. And uh, you know, we have to uphold that. So it takes every single.
00:56:45
Speaker 4: One of us.
00:56:46
Speaker 9: And uh, you know, the leaders in our rooms are speaking up more and and you know we'll be ready to go to the next one.
00:56:55
Speaker 10: There's a lot of leadership with them. But how keeping the turn over leadership with the guys who aren't having their sis this culture was established such as you like, you lose guys like Toy or Jordan and Mico. How much might that be a byproduct or something that there's people here that aren't aware of the stander or weren't there at the beginning.
00:57:15
Speaker 9: I mean, I think you could say that you know, you don't know what you don't know and you know, it's gonna take guys that are gonna have to step up and fill those types of roles, and guys that may not even know it yet that just naturally transition to being a leader in their room. So again, I'm excited to see kind of who steps up in those spots and who can who can be a vocal guy in the offense and the defense and and you know, fill those roles. So it's it's an ongoing thing and each and every day guys are just trying to get out here and work hard and work on their craft and be the best best versions of themselves that they can be.
00:57:48
Speaker 3: Ty Johnson back in the mix yesterday and today, what does that do for y'all as a team?
00:57:52
Speaker 4: That's awesome.
00:57:52
Speaker 9: Ty's great, you know on the field, it gives you that that extra burst. He's thick dude, so you know when DB's come down to thud him and practice, they feel a little bit.
00:58:03
Speaker 4: So it's good to be back.
00:58:05
Speaker 9: He's great for the room, he's great for the offense just in terms of personality.
00:58:09
Speaker 4: So love to see him back healthy.
00:58:11
Speaker 3: Guess jo I was gonna ask about the joint practice too, So just what are you looking to get out.
00:58:16
Speaker 1: Of it.
00:58:19
Speaker 4: Fighting with Kyle Allen, We're we're in a stage of fight.
00:58:22
Speaker 9: So oh no, I just again, it's different, different players that you're going against. You know, we know these guys. We've played them quite a few times the last few years. They've got one of the greatest coaches of all times, of all time, I should say, and some really special players on defense. So again, that's that's good to go up and practice against them and kind of gauge and see where you're at.
00:58:43
Speaker 4: And then you did it once. It's spark for with the Panthers. What do you remember most.
00:58:47
Speaker 11: About that joint practice, that session and how do you kind of use that.
00:58:51
Speaker 4: To help you guys as you prepare for that. I know it's a practice, so it's.
00:58:53
Speaker 9: Not like crazy, but no, again, just I think getting with some of the guys on their defense and just picking some you know, picking their brain. And I remember Luke Keikley being out there and you know, had him.
00:59:05
Speaker 4: I love Luke. That's that's my guy. And we got him.
00:59:07
Speaker 9: We fold him on one thing and he came up to me. He's like, how do you like, what are you doing there?
00:59:12
Speaker 3: Like?
00:59:13
Speaker 9: How am I supposed to guard? That and again him being able to ask me questions and but me importantly getting asked him questions. It's, you know, Luke Keigley one of the smartest football players of all time. So they got some guys on their their side that I feel like I'm familiar with that I can talk to and just kind of pick their brains.
00:59:28
Speaker 4: So I think that's a fun part about it.
00:59:30
Speaker 2: Right Stone w an NFC teams in the AFC team or is it? Or do you guys trade seeds that?
00:59:37
Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean I think I don't believe we played them in the regular season, so until we get to the playoffs, that's it's the only opportunity we have, So I think we're more apt to share a little bit of secrets, especially against playing against some of their guys and vice versa the other day.
00:59:58
Speaker 2: But one of them went to Curtis and they ended up to catch the later a match.
01:00:01
Speaker 11: I know we've talked a lot about his versatility and skill settle in the last couple of months, but even just in that one rap, what have you seen from him over the course of the last couple of months.
01:00:09
Speaker 9: And how do you think that can Yeah, I think it's a it's a different speed once it's game. And uh, you know you failed him when he caught that that ball and it was a quick little screen pass, but he was ten yards down the field in a heartbeat, and we're gonna need a lot of that from him.
01:00:26
Speaker 10: What were your impressions of ke On going up that cashes?
01:00:30
Speaker 4: I mean, that was an impressive grab. He had another one today.
01:00:32
Speaker 9: I don't know if you guys saw it, but he's in He's an unreal ability to go up and catch the ball at a high point and very good ball skills. And you know, it's fun to play with a guy like that that you could just kind of close your eyes and throw it and expect that he's either going to go up. And you saw it during the game too. I know he got got undercutting and pulled a little bit on an in cut, but he did a good job of fighting through it and not letting the guy pick a ball off. So that that instills a lot of trust in quarterbacks talk.
01:01:01
Speaker 11: How do you get somebody up to speed to play a game in a couple of days when they literally just got here And I probably don't know much of.
01:01:07
Speaker 4: What you guys do.
01:01:08
Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean I think it's it's pretty tough, but it's it's a lot on their part to be willing to learn and willing to study and spend some extra time going through the playbook and whatnot. And having a guy like Kyle Sherman, who I'm sorry that I didn't let him get any throws in practice yesterday and I ruined his dream of making a comeback, So I would like to publicly apologize first, but he's been doing a good job of, you know, getting with getting with Ben.
01:01:35
Speaker 4: I know, we got a couple receivers.
01:01:36
Speaker 9: In the room, so again, just making sure that they're spending adequate time learning the stuff that we're gonna be calling throughout the game.
01:01:45
Speaker 4: About his competitive patron to have.
01:01:47
Speaker 3: For as much as you guys would love to win in the preseason, the how is more important testing things.
01:01:52
Speaker 4: Out for you?
01:01:53
Speaker 1: How to how do you balance your competitiveness and wanting to go out there and have a leaking nine wanting in these games when he see of testing out of things that you guys have can test out.
01:02:02
Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean, I think again, doing things the right way is the most important thing. But understanding and keeping the main thing the main thing, and that's waying football games when they matter, and just understanding with the preseason's four you know, there's a lot of a lot of reps that we're trying to see if we can run this play, going against different defenses and just seeing how we stack up to two different teams and whatnot. And so I think it's just kind of just understanding what what we're trying to do.
01:02:37
Speaker 2: The feeling.
01:02:38
Speaker 11: Could you talk to Sean in the preseason game after the run?
01:02:41
Speaker 12: Was that like, yeah, he's definitely out.
01:02:43
Speaker 9: I mean, I slid and everything. I thought i'd I'd get a couple more reps. I wish I could have finished the drive, But I understand the reasoning.
01:02:49
Speaker 1: Mind it first day with Ben, just what is that they look like when you have an we're back joint the game, especially at this moment.
01:02:56
Speaker 9: There's a lot of questions. You know, he's been around the league long enough to know what's going on, and you know, I've only heard great things about him. I got a few texts from a few different people and just saying you're in a love Ben, and he's he's fitting well in the quarterback room already with the you got here yesterday. So I'm happy to have him in there and get to learn from him as well. And you know he can he can spin the ball, you throw it well.
01:03:21
Speaker 7: Joe spoke about the communication with Data day in Spiking Zone.
01:03:24
Speaker 11: And one of the positive radio to say, in fact, there were no player games.
01:03:27
Speaker 4: From your perspective, college communications in center. It was great.
01:03:30
Speaker 9: It was great, and it's only going to continue to get better. Obviously, we've got some reps on that from last year and getting the more reps that you can get, especially with live situations, and I know practice is a different story. You know, we're breaking the huddle and there's a fifteen second clock winding down, and you know it's they try to put as much pressure on us as possible, but it translates to the games and make sure that we're prepared for anything.
01:03:54
Speaker 2: That's pretty interesting that they run a fifteen second play clock and say go, because they're will invariably be instances during the season where maybe a play gets in late, break the huddle, late, at the line late, and you got to make it work because either a you don't have any timeouts or b you don't want to burn one.
01:04:12
Speaker 1: I was noticing that today they start the play clock and it doesn't go to the twenty five play clock. It goes to eighteen. And they start the eighteen play clock at a set moment when the either when the huddle breaks or when they're getting ready to go to the line, they start the the play clock is. They don't just do that for no reason. They've got that thing set to the right time and they and it gives the offense a sense of urgency, gives them, you know, holds them accountable. Yeah, and uh. And it's also good for the other side of the ball as well, because they've got things they do because of the timing of it. I'm you know, you've seen, you know one of the reasons that thing happens with NFL where the team that's on defense, the quarterback always snaps the ball like a half second late after the ball after the play clock goes to double zeros. Aaron Rodgers is notorious for that. They the reason they do that is to get as much to look at the defense and try and get the defense to show what they're gonna move to after the snap. And the defense needs the play clock so that they can they know when the ball's gonna be. Snaps gotta be snapped. It has to be snapped then, right, so they can hold their water. And then once that play clock hits zero and the ball snapped, the defense then moves to the real They disguise their defense, They move to the real spot they're gonna be, and the offense they're stuck. They have to do every they can't get any more signals.
01:05:46
Speaker 2: The advantage flips to the defense.
01:05:48
Speaker 1: That's right.
01:05:48
Speaker 2: They the ball has to be snapped.
01:05:50
Speaker 1: The ball has to be snapped. So the offense can't talk to each other anymore because they're playing.
01:05:55
Speaker 2: They can't.
01:05:55
Speaker 1: You can't hear it. Once the ball is snapped, and the defense they knew it all along, you know. And they're reactive side of the ball anyway, so it doesn't matter what the offense is doing to them as long as they know wherever who's eligible and who's not. So the play clock is is really as soon as the ball is snap turns into a defensive weapon rather than an offensive weapon before the play clock runs out. So to work on all that during practice is crucial because it gets players used to it and they start to understand how far they can go. Poyer and Hide were masters at that. They were masters at it. They knew whoever it was that was playing quarterback was going to push it to the limit. So they just watched the play clock and they got their hips turned and they're starting to run to the deep path, and all of a sudden, the ball is snapped and Poyer is instead of running to the deep path, he's up in the box stopping the run. That's a crusher for offenses having guys they don't know where they're going to go. And that's why quarterbacks push it and push it and push it and push it, because that gives them more information about what defense they're actually running the play against. Yeah, I mean that's a lot as a convoluted way of making a little simple a simple thought, but it's complicated.
01:07:10
Speaker 2: Let's check out the tweet sheet to see what answers you have there on what has to change for the Bills going into preseason game number two. And tweet sheet is brought to you by Corgan Moving Systems, the official equipment moving company of the Buffalo Bills, and Scott says, establish the line of scrimmage on both sides. It will give them better confidence doing it against the stout team such as the Steelers.
01:07:36
Speaker 1: Well The Bears are not not a stout team. They were a good run defensive team last year, so you knew you were going to be up against it, at least on the offensive side of the football. Coming into this game. The Bears feel like they're going to be able to compete with anybody defensively, So there's a reason for that. But I would agree wholeheartedly with Scott. That's one of the things that got me about this last game, both sides of the ball, offense and defense. Up front, the Bills looked disinterested, and yeah, I've seen players that I saw out there. I mean, of course Daikwon didn't play and all that, and I get all that, but they just looked like they were just ready for it to be over. It looked like it was a preseason mentality, you got to say it.
01:08:21
Speaker 2: And the Steelers defense man, that front's pretty good, I mean, Oguin, Joby, Keanu Benton, Cameron Hayward, and then on the edges you got t. J. Watt and Alex Highsmith. Like, yeah, that's a pretty good fifty front right there. Yeah, and they upgraded a linebacker because they have Patrick Queen, who they signed away from the Ravens playing in the middle there with the Land and Roberts. So it's pretty good front seven to say the least. So yes, it better be brought at the line of scrimmage for sure, Bishop says attitude. I know it's preseason, but I saw no drive from so many players. They seem to be just going through the motions. Need to see much more hustle.
01:09:02
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's what we've been talking about. I think everybody saw the same thing. You know, they just didn't. You didn't see a really good football team, four time Division champion football team unfurling its abilities with some attitude and some passion. They it seemed like they were marking time through this game so that they could get to the regular season. And like I said in early early in the show, I kind of get it. It's not fun to watch, and it's not even fun to be on the team like this. It's no fun to go out there and get beat by the Chicago Bears thirty three six, And there was no fun for anybody. But most of those players, particularly the veterans, understand they're not going to be allowed to go out and win that game. Much less depended on to win the game. They were going to be standing there in a baseball cap, and that is really hard to dredge up passion in that situation.
01:09:58
Speaker 2: Yeah, really hard, which might be why Matt says nothing needs to be changed. It's preseason week in September.
01:10:08
Speaker 1: Yeah, but do you get the feeling some people say that and they go, there's just that they're full of hope, you know.
01:10:15
Speaker 2: Like they're trying to speak it into it, just speak.
01:10:17
Speaker 1: It into existence.
01:10:18
Speaker 2: We're fine, We're fine, We're fine. We're totally good.
01:10:20
Speaker 1: Like the mean guy sitting there, the house is burning down around him's drinking coffee. It's fine, it's fine, you know, Uh yeah, we're not. The house is not burning down in this scenario that they they're they're going to be a really good football team again. But man, oh man, you hate to see him have an outing like they did.
01:10:36
Speaker 2: It's Saturday, Connor says on the tweets sheet, if the first team offense is on the field, I want to see Josh. Seeing Mitch go with the first team was frustrating to me because the first team, oh needs game time reps with Josh, not Mitch. The second drive that ended with Josh scrambling for the first down showed progress then he was pulled. Yeah, we heard Josh just address that with the media. Uh, he said. He was asked, did you know you were gonna get yanked as soon as you ran the football? And he's like, no, I thought I was going to get a few more runs in there, but it took me out, he said.
01:11:09
Speaker 1: Yeah, he said, slid and everything, didn't take a hit or anything. And yeah, that's it, man. That Yeah, that's a that's a thought process you don't want to get into. Yeah, Josh has seen enough preseason for me anyway. I feel good about him not taking another snap, although I think he probably will.
01:11:29
Speaker 2: Yeah, we do have to remember that last year there was a game where they played about a quarter the starters, and then there was another game where they played a half and then it was tapered off and eliminated from there. So I would anticipate it follows the same track, just maybe not in successive games based on what happens in the joint practice on Thursday. So I guess that will be determined in due time. Let's go back to the phone lines at eight oh three five point fifty one eight eight eight five fifty two five fifty Those are the numbers to get on board as we are asking you what needs to change in preseason game number two for the Bills on Saturday against the Steelers and we go to Bill in Depew next, what do you got for us? Bill? You're on one Bill's Live.
01:12:18
Speaker 5: Hi, guys, It just said a couple of one comment. Obviously was disappointed in their performance. It is preseason, but typically saw McDermott teams are very well prepared, especially in the preseason. We don't lose very often the preseason, so I think more solids a mindset. My second part is I wanted to know your thoughts on how Joe and Darisa played and what you think his chances aren't, if any, to make the team or the practice squad. Thank you so much for taking my call.
01:12:46
Speaker 2: Yeah, sure thing. I would say this. I like the way Joe played in the time that he had on the field last week. I thought his reads were good, shot through the gaps, made some tackles. He's also playing on specialty, so it's the kickoffs as new to him as it is to anybody else, so nobody really has a leg up on him there, so just do your best on that unit as well. Here's what I think is working against him. I have the feeling that the Bills are going to go heavy on the defensive line and heavy at cornerback this year for various reasons. I think the position that's going to suffer because of it is the linebacker position, because they on they only start two linebackers in their defense because they play nickel all the time. So I think there's a good chance that they go light at linebacker to accommodate the fatter numbers at defensive line and at cornerback. So I think they only keep five linebackers. And if they're only keeping five, it's Terrell Bernard, Dorian Williams, Matt Mulano, Baylon Spector, and Eddie Ulafochio the draft choice, those are your five. I do think Andrewson has a shot at the practice squad though. Yeah. I mean, as long as he keeps making progress through the preseason. And again I'll say it. I thought he did pretty good in the preseason opener. I thought he handled his assignments pretty well. So he continues on that track. I think that goes a long way to convincing this coaching staff. Oh you know what, there's something to develop here.
01:14:24
Speaker 1: Right, and that's and right now as it stands, that's what I'm seeing as well. I think he's a practice squad candidate.
01:14:30
Speaker 2: For sure.
01:14:33
Speaker 1: He's in a deep room that is gonna be They're gonna skim the cream off that room. That's there's not gonna be that many guys on the roster. I'm kind of with Brownie on this. I think they're gonna keep big bodies and corners and dbs. I think the linebackers. While they like him, I just think the roster makeup is gonna dictate how many guys they keep. And I don't think we're lyne back. You're not gonna keep six linebackers when he only played.
01:14:56
Speaker 2: Two and they'll have some on the practice squad.
01:15:00
Speaker 1: Sure, they'll probably keep five, like Brownie said, if yeah, for sure, uh, and maybe only have four active on game day. You know, it's kind of that.
01:15:10
Speaker 2: Kind of depending on special teams.
01:15:12
Speaker 1: So we'll see. But if if Andresen comes out and he's a special team's juggernaut, and then then I'll talk to Yeah, then I then I think, okay, well let's see it, you know, let's let's have him help because they still have kickoff kickoff return, punt punt return, and if he could play a wing back on field goal, that's another spot that it would help. So we'll see, but that's that's what it's gonna have to be.
01:15:43
Speaker 2: We have to take a break here, but when we come back, we're gonna hear from the newest quarterback for the Bills, Ben Denucci. How is his three day cram session gonna go leading up to the preseason game against the Steelers. We'll get his thoughts on that when we return here on One Bill's Live, percented by Colida Health. It's Buffalo Bills Radio. All right back here on One Bill's Live. Chris Brown Steve tasked with you on a Tuesday, and we've been asking you all day what do you need to see in preseason game number two that perhaps you did not see in the preseason opener. Before we get back to that, we do want to pass along comments from one Ben Denucci, newest quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, signed after Shane Bouchell had to go on injured reserve with a neck injury. Didn't do much in team work today as he's still learning the system, and here are his comments on what he must do between now and Saturday to get ready to play at least a little bit against the Steelers.
01:16:55
Speaker 3: Luckily for me, I've learned five offenses in five years in college, and this is my third offense in the past four years in the NFL. So luckily for me, there's some carryover between what Joe's running and what what I was with last year with with Shawn in Denver. So for the most part, I mean, football is football, the plays are the players. It's just everyone's got their little tweaks on terminology and what they call stuff. So as fast as I can get myself up to speed, right, Like, this is the tough part. I come in on Tuesday, I don't really practice much and I'm going going to.
01:17:21
Speaker 4: Play a game Saturday night.
01:17:22
Speaker 3: So as fast as I can just get the base stuff the formations, be able to be able to call stuff, and I'll be in a good spot by Saturday night.
01:17:29
Speaker 4: So you do anticipate the playing Saturday.
01:17:31
Speaker 3: And like getting I would, I don't know, I mean they haven't, they haven't told me anything yet, but I figured that they probably wouldn't bring me in here if they weren't anticipating on, you know, seeing what I could do so regardless if it's one snap, if it's the whole game, I'll be ready to go whatever capacity of this.
01:17:44
Speaker 12: Joe Tuck this morning and made it sound certainly like that there's going to be at least the package of plays for you to be out there. Yeah, I mean, I guess that's good news, right, But what do I mean, just what do you make of this opportunity in general?
01:17:54
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, this is this is different for me. This is the second time this has happened. It happened once the Cowboys cut me in twenty twenty two. I was it was after after training camp, so I was out the whole year.
01:18:03
Speaker 1: This is a little bit different.
01:18:04
Speaker 3: This is the first time I've gone through an off season and haven't been I haven't been doing anything, So it's it's it's been tough mentally, right, Like you don't have someone telling you to work out every morning at seven am. So it's staying staying on schedules, staying on a routine. But I mean, shoot, man, every every day in this business is a blessing the fact that I'm able to come out here. I was golfing Sunday morning, and then all of a sudden the bills call me and I'm here, you know, twenty four hours later.
01:18:27
Speaker 1: So very appreciative, very grateful.
01:18:30
Speaker 4: I don't take this lightly.
01:18:31
Speaker 3: Right, There's there's three guys on every team right now, So there's you know, ninety six guys in the world who get to get to say that this is their jobs. So I'm really excited, you know, excited to you know, for myself to go to go show other guys what I can do and just you know, be playing and being the float of things again.
01:18:46
Speaker 12: Your career path, I mean, you change colleges, drafted in the NFL and you know, played in some you know, a minor, minor league. It's it's not been a straight path to get here. How you know what has kept you kind of motivated in marching forward?
01:19:00
Speaker 3: This?
01:19:00
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's always been my m O.
01:19:02
Speaker 3: Right, Like I wasn't a five star recruit, didn't play a big Power five school. I had to transfer schools, went from PITT to JMU, didn't go to the Combine, still got drafted. You know, one thing led to another, ended up you know, playing. So my MYMO has always been controlled. I can control, right, There's so much stuff in this business that is out of guy's control. So the biggest thing for me is, you know, wake up every single day, try to try to get better at something right, one percent better every day. I had a coach younger, you know, tell me that and kind of always stuck with me, right like. So the biggest thing for me is come out here, have fun with it, right. You got to be able to have fun in this business. So have fun, try to try to, you know, get one percent better every day, and hopefully some some stuff starts happening in the way I want to.
01:19:39
Speaker 4: At the end of the day, it's just football.
01:19:40
Speaker 3: So when you're between the white lines, it's the same game I've been playing since I've been been ten years old. So just a lot more people watching it now. But have fun with it, enjoy it, and control things I can control.
01:19:50
Speaker 4: Did you know a lot about the Bills?
01:19:51
Speaker 2: Did you know any's on here like to like get.
01:19:53
Speaker 1: A five for it?
01:19:55
Speaker 2: No?
01:19:55
Speaker 3: So ironically, I mean, the football world is kind of small. So I played with Connor mc in Dallas. Damar Hamlin I played against in high school. We grew up together football, basketball. kJ Hamler was with me in Denver last year. Joe Brady and DJ mangus were William and Mary. When I was in high school, they were they were recruiting me, I do vividly. DJ walked me around, uh, walking me around the campus. I was wearing an old Dominion shirt turned inside out to William and Mary. I didn't have any other clothes to wear. So that might have been writing on the wall that I didn't want to go to William and Mary. But we'll keep that from those guys. But and then Adam Henry, the receivers coaches with me in Dallas too, So there's some there's some familiar faces, which is which is nice. Yeah, if you were to play, you know, in Pittsburgh, and obviously you know where you're from, what was that opportunity to meet for you?
01:20:37
Speaker 4: Just to be playing in your hometown?
01:20:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean go figure right, Like, I get signed and I look at the preseason games and it says at Pittsburgh on Saturday, and I'm like, man, I haven't I haven't played in Pittsburgh in five years, And go figure out. I get three days to learn an offense, and all of a sudden, I'm going back home to play in front of my hometown. Awesome opportunity, right, like my my family's going nuts already. They're trying to buy tickets and do all this stuff, and like, listen, keep me out of it.
01:20:58
Speaker 4: I got I got a I have to do.
01:21:00
Speaker 2: I'll see you guys after the game.
01:21:01
Speaker 3: My girlfriend, everyone, everyone's trying to coordinate flights and and all that stuff. So it'll be a lot of fun, right, Like I grew up there, I played there for a few years before I transferred to JMU. So I worked out for the Steelers a few weeks ago, so would be pretty cool for me, kind of full circle moment. Go back home, play in front of friends and family, and just see how it turns out.
01:21:19
Speaker 12: Where you've been living and training this off season Denver in Denver, Ye okay, definitely SE's where you were on Sunday when you got the call. Yeah, gotcha, right.
01:21:28
Speaker 3: Uh So, there's a there's a gym out in Denver. I was working out with, you know, Justin Simmons, who's a free agent too, just who the Broncos released a few months ago. They're probably four or five NFL guys that eight to ten every morning right lifting, running the whole nine yards, I mean all that stuff. And then, uh, I know a few few guys. I had a high school teammate who just signed with New Orleans who lived not far from me in Denver's.
01:21:47
Speaker 4: He's a tight end.
01:21:48
Speaker 3: So been able to have guys to throw to it has been the best part, right, Like for quarterbacks, it's it's all about just, you know, being able to throw to guys.
01:21:56
Speaker 2: So to have a few guys.
01:21:57
Speaker 3: Around, being able to you know, stay around NFL guys and still workout has been been helpful.
01:22:03
Speaker 4: Mental debt D James.
01:22:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, it's one thing, like I think I fried my brain too exhaustion last night just looking at the playbook for a few hours. Right, it's one thing to see it on paper and think you know it, and that's one thing to you know, hop out, hop on on the playing.
01:22:19
Speaker 2: Field, and uh, it's nice to.
01:22:21
Speaker 3: See you know you hear you, hear Joe call the play You see Josh break the huddle, see where guys are lining up. So I'm like, all right, cool, I saw this last night on paper. Now I'm seeing it on the field, and then we'll go in and watch it on films. So it's it's always better live, right, Like it's it's yeah, it's it's very beneficial, right, Josh has been extremely helpful already, match all the all the shame. All these guys have been been really helpful in trying to get me up to speed as quick as possible. So big, big help to uh from from those guys.
01:22:46
Speaker 2: Oh, the life of a free agent backup quarterback. I gotta tell you. You know, out in Denver, he's working out at a gym, he's trying to find former teammates and go to and playing golf, and he gets a phone call and you sound he sounded like excited when he heard that. Joe Brady said he would have a package of plays to master and execute in Saturday's game. So no one, he's going to get some run on Saturday. He's pretty pumped.
01:23:09
Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean you can tell there. I mean, he is the quintessential pro football player. He's just he's been through it. He's like four offenses and four years of college, three offenses in four years in the pros. Has learned them all and has it and he also knows his play. He goes, listen, I get a chance to play, We'll see you know. Obviously he was, he was on their radar. They gave him a call. Uh, they're gonna look and see what he can do. And if he comes in and impresses, why not, he'll be in Buffalo for this year. That's you know, the way he handled those questions gives it, you know, gives a nod to his intelligence. He's also obviously articulate. His experience will serve him well. And you know, well, let's just see that's that is an absolutely quintessential look into what this time of year in the NFL and beyond. So well, it's good for him. You kind of wish those kind of interviews kind of think, okay, let's see what you got. Let's let's go.
01:24:08
Speaker 2: And the other thing that was interesting that he said was there is some carryover from a previous system that he ran with Sean Payton. So he was with Sean in Denver last year, and he says there is some carryover with what Joe Brady runs here. And obviously Brady spent some time under Payton and New Orleans, so you would understand why there might be some familiar concepts contained in Joe Brady's system that look the same from Sean Payton's system. So if that can speed up the learning curve all the better right off, they go.
01:24:42
Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm sure that'll Danucci if he's going to play a lot right now and today and through Thursday, when Josh is practicing against the Steelers, Danucci's going to be standing there watching most of all, and Joe Brady's going to be talking to Josh, getting him ready to play and getting him better and getting him ready for the regular season. But come Friday night and all through Saturday, it's going to be Danucci time, and Joe will spend some time with you and honing in on some plays and some calls and some concepts that he can do. They can so he can go out and play the bulk of that game, if indeed that's what happens. But that's Joe will spend some time with Danucci getting him ready, probably on those last thirty six hours before the game.
01:25:28
Speaker 2: There is an NFL note to pass along. No sign of Jamar Chase at Bengals practice today. The reason this is notable, according to ESPN's Bengals beat reporter Ben Baby, is because it would be the first day he actually was not at practice. Even though he hasn't been practicing, he has still been present. So here's another guy who is under contract but wants a new one. The funny thing is some people in the comments are like they should have him and t Higgins not show up, that it puts some pressure on him. I don't know. Tyler Board isn't there anymore. He left in free agency. Higgins is probably spending his last year in the Bengals uniform, as they have told him and know on certain terms they're not going to extend his contract. So then that leaves Jamar Chase, who presumably is going to get a big money deal, but Mike Brown said a month ago that there's no urgency to get it done right now, and once the offseason ended, in training camp started, I think the owner, Mike Brown basically said, yeah, we'll talk to you after the season's over, and Jamar Chase is thinking otherwise, clearly because he's not practicing.
01:26:47
Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, the Bengals, we've talked about how the forty nine ers want to get the maximum value for Brandon Aiyuk and they're sitting there. They're not trading him unless they get something back for him, because he's a valuable player. He's a very good player, and everybody's like, wow, you know, everybody's playing hardball here. Let me tell you something. The Cincinnati Bengals play harder ball than anybody with contract negotiations they are. It's like, oh man, they throw a they throw a baseball that's made out of granite. That's how hardball they play. They do not flinch, They do not care. Jamar Chase can throw any kind of fit he wants. They will not budge. They will not budge.
01:27:33
Speaker 2: Get your money. When you get your money, we'll get to you.
01:27:36
Speaker 1: When we'll get to you. You don't get to tell. You don't get to set the clock. And that's the way it's going to be. I'm telling you know that. You know we've seen it. Carson Palmer, they played hardball with him and they came out right smelling like a rose. Oh man, that's too bad for Jamar Chase.
01:27:57
Speaker 2: Bengals with some training camp drive jets, with some training camp drama. Yeah, I don't have any of that.
01:28:07
Speaker 1: Ben Denucci is not drama.
01:28:10
Speaker 2: No, he is not.
01:28:11
Speaker 1: He is the undramatic.
01:28:14
Speaker 2: We have to take a break here, but some final thoughts on the tweets sheeet when we return here on One Bill's Live presented by Collide Health, it's Buffalo Bills Radio. All right, some final thoughts from the sweetsheet on what you need to see in preseason game number two From the Bills, Joe says, better job of o line opening holes for the running backs. Jack says consistency and discipline. Dumb pre snap penalties need to stop. There's no excuse for lining up in the neutral zone. Do a better job in coverage. Don't take illegal contact penalties for consistency. I don't need them to be masters of the system in week two. But stop looking lost. Wow. Danielle says, what needs to change is all the fans freaking out about really nothing. It's the first preseason game. We are rebuilding. We all know this. Yes, a lot of improvements have to be made. Let's leave it in the hands of the coaching staff. Relax, and then JT says the penalties. We already lost a good core amount of star players, so we can't be shooting ourselves in the foot with penalties. Also, implement some screens and maybe reverse plays to Curtis Samuel, maybe some wildcat too, and let Josh sling in and get some chemistry with his wide receivers. Samuel looked good on that tunnel screen.
01:29:32
Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm yeah, I'm absolutely and it is the preseason.
01:29:38
Speaker 2: The penalties would be.
01:29:39
Speaker 1: Nice to say goodbye to, no question about it.
01:29:43
Speaker 2: That's too many, even with a flag happy crew. That is correct because they were a flag happy row.
01:29:48
Speaker 1: But that'd be a good start, Yes, it would.
01:29:52
Speaker 2: We've got more on Saturday's prep tomorrow's show. We'll see at one o'clock.
01:30:04
Speaker 4: He
Speaker 1: This is One Bill's Live presented by Calida Health.
