Speaker 1: Hey, welcome to No Donk's I'm tas here was Skeets, Trey, Lee and JD. Of course we are here for part two of our Top seventy five guests in the History of this show. Part one was fun.
00:00:24
Speaker 2: It was a blast.
00:00:26
Speaker 1: I'm glad you said that.
00:00:27
Speaker 2: I really enjoyed myself. I was like, oh yeah, we talked to that person. Oh yeah, that was a fun time.
00:00:32
Speaker 1: Yeah, good good, good, good good feeling. Yeah. Lee shot around with Steph. Yannis gave me the business because I called him overrated. We had a Shack Chuck moment. Actually, Shaq will be in part three. He's giving you a wedgie in Part three.
00:00:46
Speaker 2: Spoiler.
00:00:46
Speaker 1: Lots to look forward to. But let's get into part two of our Top seventy five Guests with our first ten roll of JD.
00:00:57
Speaker 3: First thought.
00:00:58
Speaker 2: First thought, there is a bit of a loophole here. Just sit here and say absolutely nothing.
00:01:02
Speaker 4: That's not you.
00:01:03
Speaker 2: But yeah, that's not Me's gonna show way too long with me. I can't keep my mouth shut. So so well played on that task. Second thought, as.
00:01:10
Speaker 5: I speed up here, why why am I rushing him? We need a fifth start, We need a fifth story. We probably should have.
00:01:42
Speaker 1: Well, we only struggles to play short.
00:01:51
Speaker 3: Heading what's going through your mind right now?
00:01:56
Speaker 6: Number one? Holy, I'm sorry for the customers, but we got bleeps. You're gonna be bleeping out a lot.
00:02:05
Speaker 7: Jim j.
00:02:20
Speaker 2: Wow, what a pack of It's gonna be stuck in my head for weeks now. I just got it out of my head.
00:02:28
Speaker 1: Greenberg, Yeah, the Jared Great Greenberg theme. How did that come about? I guess it was just JD going through the music library and just finding.
00:02:35
Speaker 2: Well there was wasn't there this weird? Like? Was it an app?
00:02:39
Speaker 3: I found it on? I think fans since nine created uh the original, which was young Man's a Bird the Monday Night football theme song. I was created with whatever the app was called, Diddy. I believe d I T T Y not to be confused with the rap mogul, but yeah, whatever reason, young Man's a Bird, Jared Greenberg, they line up perfectly, so a banger.
00:03:05
Speaker 2: That was a hit. Anytime we would have Greenberg on, you know, usually he'd be out of game, so we have him on like satellite and stuff like that. But once we had that theme song, like people were demanding he was right. That's a good point and it's I can see why it's so catchy.
00:03:21
Speaker 1: Our best theme song of anyone. We'll give us some more here as our top seventy five go on in part three, but that one really stands out. That was a great one on the music tip that sir Foster pick him payoff. He came down the Hawks organist, came into our studio and played music every time you spoke.
00:03:41
Speaker 2: Yeah, so that was the payoff anytime I spent throw off.
00:03:45
Speaker 1: He's so good down at the Hawks game every time.
00:03:49
Speaker 2: Well you notice there in the clip like I did start speeding up. He's like he's speeding it up, but I'm like getting anxious.
00:03:55
Speaker 8: So that's all he got into it so much. You see you there and he's like really trying to like put your off. By the way, you look like you're about six years old in that.
00:04:03
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, ready for this absolutely.
00:04:11
Speaker 2: Oh man, I don't think I have that shirt anymore either. I gained some pounds in the upper body. Tis getting a little too tight. My favorite thing with the Surf Foster payoff though, is like we basically have like a running inside joke from him being on the show. And it's a weird one, but this is the point of this right to peel back the curtain to let our fans know. So anytime we're about to do a show about to go live for you know here in the Classic Factory or when we were the starters NBA TV, if you have to go piss before the show, yes, we call that a surf foster. And the reason is only because right before we were about to go live with surf foster doing the you know, tickling the ivory, tinkling the ivory tickling, tinkling the porcelain, he had to like take He was like, We're about to go live. He's like, I got to go to the bathroom, Like I gotta go to the restroom real quick, and did. It was fine and got back in time. But for some reason we call it taking a surf foster. So there you go, and it stands.
00:05:10
Speaker 8: To anywhere now like before you catch a fly, it's like I got I got a foster the last second.
00:05:19
Speaker 2: It's a nice way to say because I always say my wife gets upset with you know, he gets mad when I always say like I gotta take a pissa. She hates don't say that out loud.
00:05:29
Speaker 3: Yeah, so take she knows what a surf foster when.
00:05:33
Speaker 8: When I was in England doing the show from my brother's apartment, I said to him, I just got to go and do a surf foster and I told him about it. Now he uses that term expend.
00:05:43
Speaker 1: It's gonna tell it sounds British.
00:05:51
Speaker 3: But he had to go right before he got it.
00:05:53
Speaker 4: I didn't.
00:05:55
Speaker 1: Well, yeah, he was locked in. He had his headphones in right and I remember, yeah.
00:05:59
Speaker 3: It was too minutes.
00:06:00
Speaker 2: Yeah, we were just about to go live, like it was really close.
00:06:03
Speaker 8: Maybe he didn't think it was live live.
00:06:05
Speaker 2: Maybe not, because I remember we were like, are you able to get back in time?
00:06:09
Speaker 9: Like?
00:06:10
Speaker 2: But he did and he killed it. He's the best. And we see him down obviously at the Hawks game, and like, I guess it shouldn't be a surprise that he could do it so well on live television to play the piano whenever I was talking, because that's what he's doing during an NBA game, Like he has to play to the action.
00:06:24
Speaker 1: And stuff with that. So it was great. But he was so good, Oh he was. He thought it was a little surprising. We actually have another clip. Let's let's roll it.
00:06:32
Speaker 2: I know it's supposed to undermine me. I know it's supposed to like get me off my game, but what if it just makes everything I say sounded awesome? Very inspiration, sounds awesome, sounds awesome. It's to moving around with the ball skills and it's just gonna take a little while. What about Russell Westbrook That that was sort of a little It's really phenomenal stuff. But let's let's move on more more basketball games to talk about.
00:06:55
Speaker 1: There last night, yea a cool coming down every show, Oh good.
00:07:03
Speaker 8: Pro But when Ross Geller and Friends gets unleashes his tunes and they will hide him, but he was just like getting so into it like that, have a friend's reference.
00:07:13
Speaker 2: I can't believe we didn't like take that payoff and then run with it for another one and have him played the saxophone during a show where we were talking about that would be more difficult, like to like sort of yell over because you play that instrument, right, for sure, he probably can play every instrument.
00:07:30
Speaker 3: Let's get him in the Classic Factory and see, just like the Street.
00:07:37
Speaker 8: Him and Bones Bones can be on the guitar jam.
00:07:41
Speaker 1: One moment, one moment I had forgotten about was the Deer and Fox moment we showed there. Yeah, we handed several of our summer league guest shirts. If I do we remember that one. We definitely gave him cakes. Yeah, and maybe that was a one of one because it went so poor. We handed him a shirt that was fully buttoned up and it was very difficult to unbutton. It's cringe worthy watching it back that he has to sit there. He's a very smiley guy. He's very happy and he smiles through it shockingly, but he's like struggling because there giving.
00:08:18
Speaker 4: It to him.
00:08:18
Speaker 3: It's said on the lower third, how much would it cost for you to wear this starter shirt?
00:08:24
Speaker 2: We're just making fun of the shirts that we were wearing. I guess they were.
00:08:28
Speaker 3: Those were some shirts.
00:08:29
Speaker 1: Those were the mechanic shirts.
00:08:30
Speaker 2: Mechanic shirts, Yeah, I don't remember. I remember the yellows, remember other variations. I remember those bright blues.
00:08:38
Speaker 3: The blues. Yeah, if you could track one of those down, be great for worst shirt.
00:08:45
Speaker 2: All of those.
00:08:47
Speaker 3: That was every summer league we were there.
00:08:51
Speaker 8: I remember there's a fan I won't reveal who it is right now who always wanted my mechanic shirt at the end of something like I sent him a few.
00:08:58
Speaker 2: Yeah, what are you gonna do with them? Man?
00:08:59
Speaker 8: Yeah, and he was like, yep, great, see if he's got a blue one.
00:09:04
Speaker 2: Yeah, I like that. We can't name this, no, definitely.
00:09:10
Speaker 1: Lots of great Summer League moments, great All Star moments. We had Pow and Marc Gasol there together. We interviewed them in New York City together. I remember, Tray, you had a pre show conversation with Marcas Sool or is that a post show conversation.
00:09:25
Speaker 3: I think he had just had a daughter not too long before. And I remember there was a picture going around of Marc Gasol like sitting in an anthropology, just like waiting, just waiting in an anthropology. That was like the most relatable thing I've ever seen. So yeah, you know, I at the time, Isla would have been like four months old, so, you know, just a little classic dad chats. Obviously he's a family man. Him and Pole up there rearranging our chairs for us in between commercial breaks. Those are good guys.
00:09:53
Speaker 1: Yeah, here's another relatable moment. We'll show you a clip from the Gasols. This is relatable for you guys. Here's a clip Mark and Pow Augusol.
00:10:01
Speaker 4: Oh interest Mark had Mark.
00:10:03
Speaker 2: I'll turn it around being late Wood for Wow, why are you always late? I'm not always late, I'm always late. I'm sometimes late. And we were supposed to have you on the show that we did.
00:10:19
Speaker 8: This is one of the times that I'd be late.
00:10:21
Speaker 1: Yeah, we were waiting for them and they happened to be late and Mark, Yeah, not happy with not happy with that, He's always late. That was a great in sync moment. You see them turn together NBA in sync. That was great.
00:10:35
Speaker 2: That was pretty cool that we had him on the same time. They made history that weekend. Try obviously doing the jump ball start game.
00:10:42
Speaker 1: Yes, we've had some almost you have been in the locker room. Probably one of your most cherished moments doing the start out.
00:10:51
Speaker 3: Yeah, for the Calves game seven twenty sixteen. Uh, My second child, Ada was due to be born a few days before, and Laura said she'd be fine just fly across the country, and she was right and it was totally worth it. Hanging in the locker room was incredibly fun talking to all the guys, seeing how surprisingly excited they were to see somebody from the starters, which I thought was super cool. And there was a great moment with Channing Fry where we actually found out the last time j R. Smith was wearing his shirt to you, Look, what's your feeling right now?
00:11:21
Speaker 4: What's your failing right now?
00:11:22
Speaker 3: Buddy?
00:11:24
Speaker 8: We got you, we got you.
00:11:25
Speaker 3: Caught it up here, Channing, but you don't and we're out your shirt, Channing, give it away, And so what's up for the rest of the night. You're gonna hop in that uber pool and just jet around here in Oban.
00:11:38
Speaker 6: Hell no, I don't know where are we going, but we're now staying in Oakland, I'm gonna tell you that, or San Francisco. I know Cleveland's gonna be popping.
00:11:46
Speaker 4: When we get back, especially what.
00:11:50
Speaker 3: It was having a great time. I know there's some moments in that, uh that set of clips where he's shirt off, arm around me and that's a tall guy, Like you don't think of Channing Fry as the seventh but I always nosed the pit with him. But respect. The funny thing, though, is that j R. Smith clip. People pulled that out much later because like that whole summer, right, he was never wearing a shirt and everybody's like, oh, he found out to not wear a shirt from Channing Fry, He's like, hey, where's your shirt though I don't know. All right, final pop mine off, let's.
00:12:20
Speaker 2: Go, and then the next layer is that Channing Fry realized he just gave away his shirt like Lee gave away his shirt. I'm always like, I'm not jealous. Is not the right wear. But to me, when you see any of these clips of you guys anytime in the locker room, especially after a title and they're just like the happiest they could be, and they're putting back beers and they're like, Oh, it's just just the best. Yeah, it's pretty cool. And it's like, on top of that that they obviously recognize who you were and stuff like that in the show.
00:12:49
Speaker 3: Yeah, NBA TV is on a lot around the NBA Arena has no doubt about it. So when you're on at that six o'clock time slot, I got nothing to.
00:12:57
Speaker 2: Do before the game, get taped up and stuff.
00:13:00
Speaker 3: I'm doing captive audience.
00:13:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, there are several guys complimenting the show in your clip there. Did you find it hard to criticize guys after they said, hey, man, I love the show, because I would you like me, like can you? I would have it pretty difficult for the next year. I'd give it a year and then I can start.
00:13:17
Speaker 3: You know, Oh yeah, I'm like still the biggest Kyrie Irving fan. Yeah, do whatever you want, buddy. It was super nice to me exactly. All the rest of the media is.
00:13:31
Speaker 1: One last thing I wanted to highlight. In that ten pack that JD the little montage of our ten guests, there was a clip of me and Rip Hamilton at a flat top in a kitchen, totally stage shot of a huge flame coming at myself. Rip Hamilton and court Brand Maxwell also in that clipton.
00:13:51
Speaker 4: Wow.
00:13:51
Speaker 1: Yeah, really strange. We were in London now, that was very funny. We also had him on the show, so it wasn't a total force because Rip was in our studio a little bit later. He didn't like that I brought up that Lebron had twenty five straight against him and the Pistons in two thousand and seven, but I didn't want to highlight that. I also want to highlight I happened to be having tea a little bit later with John Amichi, Brian Scalar, Greeney to Kenby Mtumbo and Andre Miller and I didn't have a mic on and this is a clip of the director coming in cutting it and Andre Miller is hilarious. Have a watch.
00:14:26
Speaker 6: I would like to welcome Tak from the Status to our afternoon tea.
00:14:31
Speaker 4: Thank you so much. Yeah you.
00:14:46
Speaker 1: Don't think if Andre Miller is a hilarious.
00:14:50
Speaker 8: We played that in the show or something we did.
00:14:53
Speaker 1: We did there was a medal, Yeah, yeah, it was. It was a quick medley because it was a quick tea session that we that John Amichi was hosting that I happened to jump into with Brian Scalabrine. I had no idea. I just got off a red eye flight. Hey you're having tea with John Amichi, Brian Scalabrin.
00:15:12
Speaker 2: It was just you're not the host in it, are you?
00:15:15
Speaker 1: No, John Mici is the most fascinating part to me.
00:15:18
Speaker 2: I guess it would make way more senseibantics was the host with all these former NBA players, But like, yeah, you're just suddenly there it's the.
00:15:25
Speaker 1: Brits, the britt John Amichi hosting all of his NBA legends that were there for the game in London in twenty eighteen.
00:15:33
Speaker 4: And you're a legend.
00:15:36
Speaker 8: It was.
00:15:37
Speaker 1: It was yeah, it was a hey, this guy is here for NBA TV. Put him in, but don't get my mic. Yeah, so that was that was.
00:15:43
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's one of my like a sneaky favorite part of that clip is like the producer somebody realizes you don't have a mic, and it feels like you're like you knew you didn't ever.
00:15:53
Speaker 1: I don't, Right, is that the plan? Because I can understand if you just want to hear to kembe Matumbo talk. Maybe I'm just killer.
00:16:04
Speaker 2: Somebody's gonna drink this teak. That was a fun trip though overall, right to watch a game.
00:16:11
Speaker 1: Yeah, it was phenomenal. It was great.
00:16:13
Speaker 2: And you said the fire like a little clip there with Rip that was like just.
00:16:17
Speaker 1: Planned, stage staged.
00:16:20
Speaker 2: Wow, so why just to get a cool reaction?
00:16:22
Speaker 1: Just Yeah, we used it. I think we used it three times that week in our show.
00:16:28
Speaker 4: A lot.
00:16:30
Speaker 3: Did make the Meme team it probably number.
00:16:32
Speaker 1: Four definitely made a show opening. That's a great shot. Yeah, yeah it is. I think I saw Gordon Ramsey right after that. What a moment for me?
00:16:42
Speaker 4: Wow?
00:16:43
Speaker 1: Wow exactly?
00:16:45
Speaker 3: And and then are there multiple takes do you think.
00:16:48
Speaker 8: Of the.
00:16:52
Speaker 1: Killed it? Rip killed it and uh rip and cornbread Maxwell made a beef Wellington that warning I know, and then and then then rip was on our show years later and we were talking about the beef Walllington that he went home and tried to recreate the beef walling and it was too difficulty. It's tough.
00:17:14
Speaker 8: It's tough to cook.
00:17:15
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:17:15
Speaker 8: Yeah, you got to get the pastry around the beef and then get a rotten Yeah. You gotta be high level chef. I think denial that.
00:17:22
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like a like a landmark if you're a chef, right to be able to make a beef Wallington.
00:17:27
Speaker 1: That's one of It's one of the tests. I think it's a test.
00:17:31
Speaker 3: Home, He's like, man, that was good. I wonder if I could do that.
00:17:34
Speaker 1: It was damn good. In England. It was amazing because it was Gordon Ramsey's restaurant. But he couldn't recreate it.
00:17:40
Speaker 2: Unfortunately did when when the flame kicked up on that stage shot did a cornbread get burnt?
00:17:50
Speaker 1: Well, all right, we will get to our next ten after this break. One of the clips is Ernie Johnson welcoming the Starters to the basketball world in a hilarious fashion. Stay tuned.
00:18:04
Speaker 10: Hey, how excited are you guys that the Starters have become the newest members of the NBA TV family.
00:18:21
Speaker 6: All right, don't there it is, And I must confess I said it the wrong way one time to my mother in law, so I learned to make sure.
00:18:32
Speaker 1: It's poutine.
00:18:57
Speaker 2: And that was a big shot or shots.
00:19:00
Speaker 3: I would say, Ma, I'm meditating.
00:19:04
Speaker 2: On that of being in that type moment and taking advantage of it. But I'm just glad I went in and and I can celebrate.
00:19:13
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right, a couple.
00:19:14
Speaker 7: I know.
00:19:14
Speaker 2: His beard is brazy. Shout out to your team, to the starters, man, real talk.
00:19:18
Speaker 4: I love your show.
00:19:20
Speaker 1: Gyrie's good in our books.
00:19:22
Speaker 4: That's right.
00:19:23
Speaker 2: I like that he said he meditated on that show. I remember him saying that clip.
00:19:27
Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't remember that either, but now, like I mean, six years after the fact, I'm like, he probably did not, no doubt about that. Also, want to compliment O. This beard is brazy. Good times.
00:19:41
Speaker 1: Oh there's some good stuff in that package there. Andre goodala as well. He basically learned about us not being on NBA TV anymore, that we were let go, and then he said, I'm sorry to hear about you guys leaving the network. If I start a network, all I'll bring you guys very good, very good moment.
00:20:02
Speaker 3: Yeah, I was super nervous for that interview because I think Lee had had a prickly interaction with him at a previous final stop at some point, and then he was super nice about it. That being said, he hasn't retired yet, so.
00:20:16
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we can take him up on that. We have changed jobs, but he doesn't. He hasn't started network.
00:20:22
Speaker 3: He hasn't started a network yet either. Yeah.
00:20:25
Speaker 2: Yeah, you said you were like a little nervous though, but oh yeah, I mean it's his demeanor.
00:20:30
Speaker 3: Too, exactly, his demeanor just in general. He's like a sarcastic guy in general. So whatever, we finished the interview, he's very nice about how everything ended at NBA TV, and then afterwards he's like, I'm not that bad of a guy, right, however, and had gotten back to him, and I was a little nervous. It was like asking around, like, oh, is he gonna be okay with us? It was fine and it was great.
00:20:49
Speaker 1: It was very funny. He's a cool dude. Yeah, So that was towards the end of our run at NBA TV. At the beginning of our run, let's play the whole clip. This is Ernie Johnson and a lot of legends any around him welcoming us to the NBA TV world.
00:21:03
Speaker 10: Hey, how excited are you guys that the starters have become the newest members of the NBA TV family.
00:21:17
Speaker 8: What's what's the star out of Canada?
00:21:19
Speaker 10: Right?
00:21:20
Speaker 8: It's e J.
00:21:21
Speaker 10: Skates and caj Ma Hall or something like that.
00:21:24
Speaker 8: Old basketball.
00:21:27
Speaker 3: You can't say that copyright the basketball.
00:21:29
Speaker 8: So you're familiar with.
00:21:30
Speaker 4: Others, I'm not. I'm not familiar with them.
00:21:34
Speaker 8: I don't know who they are either.
00:21:39
Speaker 1: On what are we talking about?
00:21:41
Speaker 2: Respect the Bahamas?
00:21:44
Speaker 9: Right?
00:21:44
Speaker 8: Rick?
00:21:46
Speaker 1: What's that got to do with Canada? I think our six years peaked right there? What a spot that was really good.
00:21:55
Speaker 2: How do you think they film? Did they tell everybody like Truck doesn't really actually know what's going on? Probably right, doubt it. I think he's like like legit reacting to like what are we talking?
00:22:08
Speaker 1: They are?
00:22:10
Speaker 4: They all are?
00:22:10
Speaker 1: But what about Rick Fox?
00:22:11
Speaker 11: Because Fox the line they had to I don't think they did. I think they only told told her literally two seconds before in his ear it was it was Jeremy uh, Jeremy eleven.
00:22:25
Speaker 1: Yeah, he but there's there's no way Rick Fox said, oh the basketball can't say that's copyright. He didn't think he did.
00:22:33
Speaker 3: He did not know the copyright issues. We wrote a script for it, guys.
00:22:40
Speaker 1: A script. There's no way, there's no way he knew that the lou Adler.
00:22:45
Speaker 4: Had the right time.
00:22:47
Speaker 8: Maybe maybe he's in.
00:22:50
Speaker 2: I think it's a bit of both. I think I think there definitely was a script. But there was many of those guys sitting there. I had no clue recording, and we're just reacting in real time, like what are we talking about? Who are we talking about? And of course Ernie's killing it with the E J streets and the like. We wrote all that, but it's funnier than I remember the shots of just guys sitting there.
00:23:09
Speaker 4: I love that.
00:23:10
Speaker 8: Yeah, they would, they would, they would have known. You don't worry about saying anything to childs let his natural reaction break. But yeah, they needed to have at least one person you know it.
00:23:19
Speaker 2: And so they gave Rick Fox the act exactly.
00:23:22
Speaker 8: You could tell Rick he delved the live beautifully there.
00:23:25
Speaker 1: And he's a Canadian. Yeah, he was the only one. I don't think anybody else.
00:23:29
Speaker 11: I'm gonna stand by. I don't think listen. First of all, Rick Fox is the most connected Hollywood person in that room. And I go on, I'm sure that he knew that we were coming on. Of all of those guys in that room, he knew that we were coming up.
00:23:51
Speaker 2: All the guys in the room.
00:23:52
Speaker 11: The guy was like Jake and emrr they like he knew about us for sure.
00:23:58
Speaker 1: We definitely had a few hits when we were working at the Score with NBA TV. So it's not like some of those guys in the studio who are working at the nba A TV desk doing the nightly show saw our stuff.
00:24:11
Speaker 2: They maybe the classic some raptor news came from that was.
00:24:17
Speaker 1: That was Kenny Smith. But come on, the basketball Jones copy right. Can't say that.
00:24:24
Speaker 3: I won't push back.
00:24:28
Speaker 2: I don't remember us writing that line.
00:24:30
Speaker 4: That part didn't.
00:24:32
Speaker 1: Yeah, we're the EJ Skates and Taj Mahala. I don't remember that.
00:24:35
Speaker 2: Oh we did that?
00:24:36
Speaker 4: That was we did that part.
00:24:37
Speaker 1: I mean, it's natural.
00:24:40
Speaker 2: Anything we did with Ernie was basically gold bangers, like we went what three for three, four for four? Like any sort of little funny video we ever did with him, be it that. And we had never even met the guy up up until that point and then the red Zone NBA Red Zone was hilarious, and then I've forgotten about the one where I guess it was because players own started getting the broadcast and the joke was going to be that Ernie was out of a job now because he's not a former player and it's going to all of them, and so then he was sliding over in the NBA TV like rankings to then to our show, and then I was out of the job and we did that funny little video. So he just was so hilarious. He's delivering the line so gross pro baby for a reason.
00:25:22
Speaker 1: One other tie in JD's favorite guests, Trey Skeets you loved Wendell Holland being on our show. Former Survivor contested no video of him because that was in a no video zone of our show. But Tyan, we recently got this desk that we're sitting at right now, made by the hands of Wendell Holland and his beef company, so it's all it's all tight in.
00:25:47
Speaker 2: You got to ask the Survivor fans here of the group, has anybody looked for a hidden communitia idol within the desk.
00:25:54
Speaker 11: I've been over that thing in the middle of that when everyone's sleeping. Of course, it was just but smart. You know, I've made a fake body of myself in my bed and then I snucked.
00:26:06
Speaker 4: Down here so I wouldn't be found out.
00:26:09
Speaker 2: Amazing.
00:26:09
Speaker 4: I haven't found anything yet.
00:26:10
Speaker 2: I think something like I didn't.
00:26:12
Speaker 4: Check the front.
00:26:13
Speaker 8: You never know if you unscrew this it might be tucked.
00:26:18
Speaker 2: Check everything.
00:26:19
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:26:19
Speaker 2: Yeah, that is pretty funny though, that someone that won Survivor came on our show. For one that was and then two made our desks that were sitting at here. That's awesome.
00:26:30
Speaker 1: One other thing I wanted to bring up Grant Hill multiple time guests on our show, I believe multiple times told that story about the poutine as well, which gotta be careful to me.
00:26:45
Speaker 2: As parents, right, He didn't know how to pronounce it ever.
00:26:49
Speaker 1: Put to guests.
00:26:51
Speaker 3: He did to his mother in law, I guess some of a tasty poot egg.
00:26:59
Speaker 1: At seconds.
00:27:02
Speaker 3: That's great And I love when we're watching back the package.
00:27:07
Speaker 4: Of it and we see.
00:27:09
Speaker 3: Nard King explaining how most people when they spin, they spin on their toes, but there's less friction if you spin.
00:27:18
Speaker 1: On your heels. Just do this for me, Just do this for me, like you feel that.
00:27:23
Speaker 3: We're all like you're like, oh yeah, you can feel feel friction, the extra friction. But I don't know. Around my house now when I got on like a pair of socks or something, I love to spin on my heel and I just like just keep going.
00:27:37
Speaker 1: He's right, he's rights less control though.
00:27:40
Speaker 3: Less control.
00:27:41
Speaker 2: Yeah, let's control goodin a little quicker but you can't stop, just keep spinning and spinning. Do you ever use it in your pickup runs? You'll spin there.
00:27:51
Speaker 8: I'm not posting alp a whole lot pickup runs now, I'm three three point line to three point line, but you know, I'd like to try it out just to see.
00:28:00
Speaker 2: We should do a video, Yeah exactly. Yeah, yeah, It's like there was what was that show on ESPN, like Sports Science or something like that, Like time it like, I'm quickly get our turn around jumpers off, spinning on our heels to our toes.
00:28:13
Speaker 1: That was a good show.
00:28:14
Speaker 2: It was a great show.
00:28:14
Speaker 1: Jason Cappona got to shut off in point two two. I think cy remember that. One other thing you remember is Buddy Heeled that Summer League throwing a cake into the crowd.
00:28:25
Speaker 2: Legendary moment.
00:28:26
Speaker 1: I can't believe this happened. I still can't believe this happened. Let's roll it, j D. You gotta gotta get we give everyone a cake.
00:28:36
Speaker 12: Want yummy bands on the halo, on the camera, Buddy Buckets, Buddy Buckets, yell the cake.
00:28:51
Speaker 2: They would hate they would hate me.
00:28:53
Speaker 12: Don't get that.
00:29:01
Speaker 2: Got here.
00:29:09
Speaker 4: Oh my god. I remember that.
00:29:21
Speaker 2: We really had to convince him to do it so much. In my head I thought it was like he's like, should I throw it? Or probably like yeah, and then he just checked it. But it took some convincing.
00:29:29
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you always have to talk him into it. It was basically everybody from Buddy Healed Over wanted him to throw it, and then him and the guy right behind him, the guy behind him like now that way, and that was we.
00:29:44
Speaker 2: Like we always gave a cake to any of the people that came on our show in Summer League. But he was like really early on, right like we hadn't given out that many cakes. As my point, it wasn't like the fortieth cake and finally somebody threw it. I feel like it happened somewhere early in the it.
00:30:01
Speaker 3: Was like third season was yeah, it was later off in the season, but it was definitely early in the run that year.
00:30:08
Speaker 2: Oh okay, maybe I like how.
00:30:10
Speaker 1: He says, you guys want some cake and then he just starts picking gummy bears for himself or gummy worms or whatever they were on that cake.
00:30:17
Speaker 2: I also love you. You're like, hey, we got to see the cake on camera. You're like trying to take him from him, trying to get the angle. Hey, it says Buddy buckets on it.
00:30:25
Speaker 8: Yeah, that was the fun part coming up. We want to put on that, wasn't it.
00:30:29
Speaker 2: It was fun for the first couple of years. We started running out of things to put. What was the worst thing we put on a cake?
00:30:35
Speaker 1: La Cakers, La Cakers is good.
00:30:41
Speaker 3: I was gonna say, Jabari Parker.
00:30:46
Speaker 2: I didn't know when to put that.
00:30:49
Speaker 1: Yeah, it was always fun, trying to get the angle of the camp right, start sliding.
00:30:54
Speaker 8: Off the thing.
00:30:55
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:30:56
Speaker 2: How much money do you think was spent? Slash wasted on cakes? Summer League?
00:31:02
Speaker 1: Not cheap, that's it.
00:31:04
Speaker 2: I thought they'd be more simple.
00:31:06
Speaker 4: Sheep slab takes that you get costs cover or whatever.
00:31:12
Speaker 2: No, I shouldn't say like all were wasted because some of them some of the players would take them, yeah, like to their family or to like their teammates, and then they just dig in.
00:31:21
Speaker 11: These are like elite athletes who would be like, I don't need sugar or whatever.
00:31:26
Speaker 4: He wanted those gummy worms.
00:31:27
Speaker 8: Yeah, someone was like that. I would like, I went touching a country it was, but I remember Julius Randall got upset. I think it was you like, went to touch and he's like, get your hands off that.
00:31:38
Speaker 1: I sworn brandon ingram ate something like he dug in because he said I'm a little too skinny.
00:31:44
Speaker 4: You got to pack. Yeah, yeah, that sounds from it.
00:31:46
Speaker 1: I couldn't find flip though, Oh tough.
00:31:48
Speaker 4: Yeah, somewhere it might have happened off camera, I think so.
00:31:52
Speaker 1: Well. One thing that did happen on camera was a very bizarre moment with our friend Kristin Leather. We'll get to that after the break, as well as the man who termed the coin what who coined the term weggie stay tuned.
00:32:08
Speaker 8: What do you think can I get twenty? I think I think you got twenty?
00:32:11
Speaker 1: And yeah, for sure, Hey luck, buddy.
00:32:12
Speaker 8: Thanks a look, I appreciate that.
00:32:14
Speaker 4: Yeah you got it.
00:32:16
Speaker 8: Here he goes twenty file thinks I can do it. I think I was twenty one.
00:32:21
Speaker 4: All right, all right, m p M c p M.
00:32:41
Speaker 1: You coined the term weggie. Do you remember when you first use it? If you heard it from somebody else?
00:32:48
Speaker 9: No, it just happened one day the ball got caught between the rim and the board, and I said, it's a weggiegie. I just popped out of my mouth, like most things loud, and you thought it all just something crazy comes out of my mouth. And if people start repeating it back to me, I think, well, I guess that kind of works, so I'll use it again. And we haven't had one in a while. I'm kind of in remorse. I need I need a wedgie pretty badly.
00:33:17
Speaker 2: I feel like we should have to hold our mics like this segment in honor of Ralph Laller.
00:33:21
Speaker 1: But the great Ralph Lahler. He says that he made that term up just freestyle that I believe. I believe him too. I believe him too, and I believe him because of how passionate he was. Asked him another question about it. I think we're at the Four Seasons Hotel. Yeah, well, the Clippers were staying there. I wasn't. I took a cab.
00:33:44
Speaker 4: It took a while.
00:33:45
Speaker 1: Anyways, he was so passionate about it. JD. Can we roll that clip? It's like you're the fifth starter. We're always in remorse and we don't have Aggie. You'd fit right in on the show. Do you distinguish between different types of wedgies? Let's say, like I Deanna Dre Jordan. I mean, he's he's had some special ones, and you know there's some of those that are just lightly get tucked in there or really jam in there. Do you do you change your call depending on the wedgie.
00:34:12
Speaker 9: No, it's just whatever comes out of my mind. Like a wedgie is a wedgie. You know, if everybody knows a good weggie when they have one, I.
00:34:22
Speaker 7: Know, I.
00:34:24
Speaker 1: Kind of you know, squeezed him in. No pun intended into the guest list because he I didn't. I didn't intend that because he wasn't in our studio. You know, it wasn't necessarily a guest You guys didn't get to talk to him, but it was two minutes of gold. And it's the most infamous thing that we're known for in the NBA universe, the wedgie and I do believe. I do believe that he is the man that came up with the term. So I had to get in Ralph Laller great on the car.
00:34:51
Speaker 8: So there's so much content merchandise we've got out of it.
00:34:53
Speaker 2: It's just I don't say that too much. He might want to a little cut of this.
00:35:00
Speaker 10: What do mean?
00:35:01
Speaker 2: We have Soleny shirts.
00:35:05
Speaker 1: One thing that I think that that you've gotten noted as showley is a genuine friendship with Kyle Korver.
00:35:11
Speaker 8: Can I see that, I think so? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We we lived near each other, We've bumped into each other at a few social gatherings. We've we've talked some dad stuff, you know, but we've also talked some three pointers, which is which is where it started. Which was great, you know, because he was my i think my first coach ever to try to win the three point you know, to score twenty points in the three point.
00:35:32
Speaker 1: First you've had multiple came before Courier, that's right.
00:35:36
Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, because he was down here so the access was a little bit easier, I understand why. Yeah, he's great that.
00:35:42
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:35:43
Speaker 8: I've seen him sometimes even in the morning, like he's wound down the window. Hey, buddy probably would look a little bit weird if I have to starting kisses to another grown man, but.
00:35:57
Speaker 2: You know you unfortunately never came through with the twenty after Coach Kover was helping you.
00:36:02
Speaker 8: Nineteen twice is the closest I've gotten, so he said.
00:36:05
Speaker 2: Twenty one Actually, yeah, yeah, I know. You see him taking aback what he said on the like, okay, twenty is now we're going twenty one.
00:36:13
Speaker 4: Okay, yeah.
00:36:14
Speaker 8: If I remember correctly, during that shootout, I think I hit like my first, like three or four shots with him too. It's kind of like maybe I don't need help.
00:36:27
Speaker 1: Kristin Ludlow probably the fifth starter. I'm Brent Barry was on our show a time. Kristin was pretty regular on our show. I wanted to highlight this because I don't know if you guys remember this. It was a bizarre moment. I think, the most bizarre moment in the history of our show.
00:36:44
Speaker 2: What wow, Yeah, that's saying something.
00:36:47
Speaker 1: I know. We've had Pickles on our show. Grown men dressed as Pickles's.
00:36:52
Speaker 2: What's another wild man picked me up and ripped my underwear off.
00:36:57
Speaker 1: That's great. I can't wait to see that in part three. This one has just came out of nowhere. Christen's at a Boston Celtics game. She's doing a hit with us via satellite, and incomes Kelly from the Boston Tea Party Museum, and we're gonna show you part of the clip, but it goes on and on and on, and we've got to get to commercial, Kelly, We've got to get to commercial. I know there was a panic in the studio jd Roll, Kristen and Kelly.
00:37:23
Speaker 7: I email the Celtics and asked, could I get Kelly for the show. There must have been some sort of communication error because Olennox out here shooting around and they sent my friend Kelly instead. Oh Kelly, Oh, the bost Hell Tea Party Museum, Kelly a big They're playing the colonial music for you.
00:37:41
Speaker 13: It's a big week for you, Hey, it's a huge week for us now here. We are in Boston, of course, with the historic Boston Celtics seventeen championships. I know that's huge, but that is not the only historic thing happening here in Boston. Tomorrow is the two hundred and forty second anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, and we are celebrating with a full scale re enactment of the tea party Marsham Street down to the Fife and then we go down to the waterfront where we.
00:38:09
Speaker 2: Will be dumping.
00:38:11
Speaker 13: Will East India Company Tea into Boston.
00:38:16
Speaker 2: In our dat Kelly, but Kelly, but Kelly, How will the Celtics stop Lebron James?
00:38:23
Speaker 1: All right?
00:38:23
Speaker 7: When we're they want to know how the Celtics play to stop Lebron James? You and your friends learn how to stop the king?
00:38:29
Speaker 13: So yeah, so I would say to stop the King you have to form an organized protest.
00:38:36
Speaker 1: Last question here we started our showing move from there? Do you look down upon us because we're part of the Commonwealth?
00:38:44
Speaker 2: A little bit?
00:38:44
Speaker 4: Right? Your piece was definitely not working.
00:38:53
Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think, so just keeps going.
00:38:57
Speaker 1: I don't know what else there is to say.
00:39:00
Speaker 2: I'd forgotten about that clip.
00:39:01
Speaker 3: Yeah, I think Skeets nailed it.
00:39:04
Speaker 1: Wow, they're hanging out real East India t Yeah.
00:39:10
Speaker 2: I'm literally shaking my head at one point. I need to hear like rewatching that. I can hear Matt Austin in our ears.
00:39:17
Speaker 1: Yeah, so ask her about the game.
00:39:20
Speaker 3: Tell her we got to go to commercial.
00:39:22
Speaker 2: Somebody taken back to the studio.
00:39:24
Speaker 8: I can hear it, but we.
00:39:25
Speaker 3: Keep asking her questions. Yeah, come on, man, it was the two hundred and forty second anniversary at the Boston Tea Party. Yeah, you have to commemorate it.
00:39:35
Speaker 1: The protest, the King line. That was good.
00:39:38
Speaker 5: Yeah.
00:39:39
Speaker 1: One other thing that was good Zach Lavine obviously incredible dunker. He raided one of your dunks.
00:39:45
Speaker 8: Lee.
00:39:45
Speaker 1: Let's take a watch.
00:39:47
Speaker 2: We're going to show you one from Lee, the cupcake dunk.
00:39:49
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:39:50
Speaker 12: Yeah, here we go.
00:39:51
Speaker 2: Two weeks of gum and blowing up no.
00:39:59
Speaker 8: Size candle.
00:40:00
Speaker 2: You know that you can't blow out.
00:40:01
Speaker 8: That's one I was I think.
00:40:02
Speaker 1: They set me up.
00:40:11
Speaker 3: I like to attempt at the end of the blowing out the candle.
00:40:14
Speaker 4: That's five. Yeah, sticking with you, that's.
00:40:22
Speaker 1: Wow.
00:40:23
Speaker 8: Even five was generous. I think that I couldn't believe how hard it was to actually get up there and get close enough to blow it out.
00:40:29
Speaker 3: They couldn't do it.
00:40:30
Speaker 8: It was crazy. It's only on eight foot hoop.
00:40:36
Speaker 4: You had the.
00:40:40
Speaker 8: I don't know why we were growing those. We as a group decided I was going to grow them. I don't remember why.
00:40:47
Speaker 4: I don't remember us as to do that. I think you were just like, I'm growing my.
00:40:53
Speaker 1: Saying maybe you may be considered like you were, like what do you what do you guys think?
00:40:56
Speaker 4: We're like, okay, whatever you want, man.
00:40:59
Speaker 2: Because that was even the year we dressed up as Elvis, was it?
00:41:02
Speaker 4: Uh?
00:41:03
Speaker 2: I mean that would make a little more sense. Maybe you were going out your sidebirds for the grand finale of US d off as Elvis. But I don't think so.
00:41:09
Speaker 4: Nah, I don't know. I don't know.
00:41:11
Speaker 8: I can't remember, but yeah, I remember the cupcake. The idea was great. I was like, yeah, I'm gonna do this, and then I was like, oh my god, I can't even get close to it.
00:41:20
Speaker 2: Can believe you thought you would be able to do.
00:41:22
Speaker 8: It, like you sort of think, you know, I'll be able to get right up to the rim and look.
00:41:27
Speaker 9: But.
00:41:30
Speaker 3: I don't think that I can jump and get my head to an eight foot rip. You did eventually get it blown out, though it just was a you know process.
00:41:39
Speaker 2: Did you actually blow it out or did the candle like get down?
00:41:44
Speaker 4: Thought?
00:41:44
Speaker 11: Maybe yeah, that was totally that dunk that was staged. The I think Mannio might have been on a like a ladder and blew it out because you definitely didn't.
00:41:59
Speaker 4: Do it well.
00:42:00
Speaker 8: I think that was the same year that I jumped over Matt to the side, jump over around.
00:42:07
Speaker 2: At least the dunk contest got better year after year. I think it progressed.
00:42:11
Speaker 3: That was year two. Yeah, year one I was pretty bad. Year two he didn't have his best. Year three at all came to three was.
00:42:17
Speaker 8: The most exciting.
00:42:20
Speaker 1: Maybe it'd all come together. In part three of our three part series, here of our top seventy five guests. Make sure you check out the other two parts. And to take us out. We can never get enough of people telling us that they love us. So here's Tristan Thompson.
00:42:35
Speaker 4: Enjoy myself.
00:42:37
Speaker 3: I'm a champion. Enjoy myself.
00:42:39
Speaker 4: Oh very it is.
00:42:40
Speaker 3: Thank you guys with the starter.
00:42:42
Speaker 4: I thank you guys.
00:42:43
Speaker 3: I watched out too. I like that you ran in the treadmill for a whole show. Thank you, thank you.
00:42:49
Speaker 1: I'm waiting, baby sun Shine. I've got a picture in my mind. I can show you New Stay
