Jason mccordy's got a program and with that we go to Dolphins Bengals, a rather infamous game already just a few hours later, and I'll tell you why. Dolphins who find themselves down seven to six, and then the whole night kind of filippole. Here. It's a really terrible thing that happened in which Tatanka Vlo was slammed to the ground. His head hit the turf and he did not move. We're not showing the close up shot that you've seen because we don't want to see it anymore, and neither to you. They had to take him off on a stretcher. They evaluated him. He was conscious after the game he had moved on all his extremities and is apparently what we're hearing looking up. So we're happy for that. And more on in a minute twenty seven to fifteen the Bengals of now one two in a row for an owned two start. That's the Dolphins first loss of the season. But afterwards, the entire story up until the minute right now as we are speaking to you, is about the quarterback of the Miami Dolphins and his health and his decision to be out there rather the team's decision. Here's Mike McDaniel on his reaction to Tah's injury. That was an emotional moment. That is not part of the deal that anyone signs up four, even though you know it's a possibility in football to have something that you have to get taken off on a stretcher. All of his teammates, myself, we were all very concerned. So the best news that we could get is that everything is checked out, that he didn't have any anything more serious than a concussion. He'll be flying back with us here on the plane. Ian Rappaport, what is the latest for the quarterback from Miami this morning? And you can see the emotion on the face of head coach Mike McDaniel and just a really stirring and scary scene with Tua laying there being taken away on a stretcher, ended up being taken to the hospital. Was released last night, flew back with the team. All that is good news. You're gonna have some more tests today on as the NFL doctors and the independent neurologists continue to monitor his concussion. Also some tests on his neck just to make sure that he is all good there, but certainly some initially some good news after a very scary scene. That is one issue related to Tua and his health. Obviously, he is now in the concussion protocol. We'll see about whether or not he's playing in the next game. Not that is the most important thing, but we cover football. That is something we will be tracking. There's also the investigation into the concussion protocol on Sunday, why two was not placing it and the evaluation that is still ongoing. The NFLPA exercise their right to ask for it the NFL, as NFL official Jeff Miller said, the NFL welcomes it and time will tell when that comes back and what they determined As far as why too was wobbly and why he seemed to have trouble walking. They believed the doctors did that it was his neck, not his head, But obviously time will tell what the investigation ends up showing. Yes, we're all wishing well for two. I got a chance to play in the lock one with that guy as tough as they come. Wants to be out there with his guy I saw. Hoping he heals up quickly. But Ian dangerous storms have been hitting the state of Florida. We heard Tampa going down to Miami to do the practice in it, making sure they're safe and their families are safe. Well, we got some good news yesterday. What's the latest on the Chiefs books football game on Sunday night? Yeah, some good news. Hurricane Ian hits landfall and seems to be kind of going in the correct direction. I guess maybe that's I don't know if that's the best way to say it weatherwise, but it is a good thing. There's a little more optimism there as far as the storm being through. The NFL has said in consultation with the Governor's office and the mayor's office that the game is on for Sunday night as scheduled in Tampa, and local officials said that the having the game on Sunday night would not take resources away from the drastic recovery efforts in the area. That is a good thing. Meanwhile, the league and the team are working on charitable relief efforts to support those organizations impacted by the storm. More details to come on that. Brady, It's in Tampa, sixty seconds on the clock. What are you looking for him in this matchup? Peter, I'm curious see what we got out of these quarterbacks coming off some two tough losses. You know, with Patrick Mahomes's case, you go into Indianapolis, a couple of calls don't go your way, but the frustration was boiling over. We saw him visibly in an altercation with Eric b Enemy as offensive coordinator with Tom Brady, this team hasn't thrown a touchdown and pass in the first half of any of their first three games. They scored twelve points last week. They had to almost pull the rabbit out of their hat. What is the conversation for both offenses, because both these teams should be scoring more points and doing more based on expectations. Exactly to what you just said. This is the first time no face offs in Super Bowl fifty five and Tampa where Brady was hoisting the trophy. Well, like you said, we already know what's going on with the Kansas City offense. Not only have they not scored in the first half, they only scored one touchdown in each of those games. So somehow one of these offenses need to get gone. I think it's going to be harder for Kansas City because of that Bucks defense. I'm just excited about the Monday Morning takes on. Who are Road loses this game because they're gonna be two and two. Yeah, And every anytime the Chief los Any game, everyone loses their minds in the media. So if you lose two in a row to get to two and two, the takes are going to be spicy. Actually, like Tampa in this game, they've only given up twenty seven points in three games. Or defense is awesome. Defense has been absolutely incredible. All right, Next up, we've got an AFC West showdown, Danger Russ, mister Ulin and I'm gonna crowdsource this. Oh great, we got fans here. Im as last them opinion, Right, I'll go last, I'll go last, all right, all right, last? So what are we looking for in this one? Jay? You TuS up? Yeah? For me? First of all, I want to see past certain and DeVante Adams one of the best corners in the league right now. He has been ball and I want to see that matchup. And then the Raiders they need to get some sacks. Then we have two so far them getting pressure is going to determine whether they win this game or not. Yeah. Do you know that that defense that we've talked about was Chandler Jones and and Max Crosby. You just said it. Two sacks two and three games. So as much as we want to cry about Josh Mcano's offense not working. The defense has not been doing their job either. Raiders can't go own for literally, no one wins a Super Bowl. Are going oh and four? But Kyle Brand, no one does crowd work better than you. What do we got out there? Oh? We got Sam from Boston who is a Broncos fan. Sam, it's mad minute. That is Kyler Murray going up against Baker Mayfields, Cardinals, Stamps, anybody, We'll buy you some time here, Kyle Jay, do you what do you hype for this? Both teams are one and two, but the Cardinals have such higher expectations, so they need to get things going. I feel like this is a game where they can do so. This one is one on paper where they're supposed to win. So Kyler and those cars find a way to get it going and stop Aker and McCaffrey. Lashawn McCoy, a friend of the show, compared Kyler Murray to a high school quarterback this week. There's a lot of takes on Kyler and you go into this one and you've got Kingsbury as your guy in the back. Kingsbury once coached Baker Mayfield at Texas Tech thetil Baker transferred out of there to be a walk on at Oklahoma. I find the dynamics between the coach and the quarterbacks so interesting in this one. I would like to think that the Panthers at home could get their second straight win over here. Cards and Panthers have robust fan basis. We just couldn't find any of them right now, so in fact, we have Dave, the British Seahawks fan. Your thoughts on Cards Panthers, Well, I think Kyla's beginner's homework this week, so oh, make him up something in the oven for them as well. So it could be it could be a draft. I find the mac Jones situation really interesting, and Brian Hoyer's waiting in the wings, and we're not sure exactly who's gonna go there. But I kind of like the Patriots in this game, and if it is Axel Hoyer, I actually think that might be okay. I like the Patriots in an upset in this one, not only to keep it close. I think the Patriots go into Lambau and shock the world. I think New England, even without mac Jones, with everyone telling for what they're done for the season. I think these are the kind of games that Belichick's rails the troops and finds a way to win. You know, the model next man that's what they say around there. And like you said, Hoyer hasn't won a game since two thousand and sixteen we four where he beat the Bears. But in order for them to do so, the defense is going to have to step up. That old guy down there, Devin mccordy, get the guys going, give them a great speech, all to dominate stuff, find a way to win the game. Kyle, what's your god? Three times Super Bowl champion, mister Scott, how about I don't I don't get that reaction in my basement. Wow, Scott h it's great, Scott, I saw ya Skot Sports last night. You're doing your thing. You're here on London's grounds, but it's not the first time for you. You've been here twice before with teams. Take us through the strategy of when you arrive, should we come early in the week late in the weekend, How those decisions are made at the league's at the team side. The team we do so much relying on the NFL office. The NFL office has this thing down. So when really you have this is where your equipment people shine, your video people shine, your trainers, your football ops people. Because they have to do their job, they have to communicate with all the people. It's all like any other road game. Quite honestly, you're just going across the pond and you've got so much that's taking care of with the infrastructure by the people at the league office. They do an incredible job. So really it's just kind of plug and play. The most difficult part for the team is getting an idea of what your travel schedule was prior to it, what your travel schedule is going to be afterwards. Interested in the sleep because it's not necessarily the distance, it's the time zone changes, and that's what really messes with the player's rest and everybody else's rest. But this has become such a machine in terms of league office and what a great job they do in preparation for our football ops people to just jump in. Saints had different strategies this week. Is there a right strategy? It's like a lot of things, you know, a lot of people say this is the right way to do it. Whatever works for you and works, well, that's that's the right way. Different people have their game. That was the right shot. It was exactly right, exactly. Kevin O'Connell told me last night that they had fifty laydown seats on the Vikings plan and all the players got them, and he said he knew he was going to have angry coaches when they landed today because they all had to sit up right, the whole plane over here, and I gotta make your sacrifices where they land sometime. So the other game I'm super excited about this weekend is Eagles Jaguars. The Eagles kind of went through a litany of scrutiny coming into this season, but now they're three and oh, you know some of those guys on that team, what's up with them? Jamie? I tell you last year this time, remember everyone was making jokes about Nick Sirianni. They were Vontae Smith, he's too skinny, he can't play in this league. And it's funny. I always bristle at that because give people a chance. And now we're looking to, say year later, and I understand, we're only three games. In three A lot can happen, a lot of football has to be played. But when you look at Nick Sirianni, you look at Jalen Hurt, you look at Vontae Smith, there's three people who had been under a lot of scrutiny, and a couple of those guys I know really well. I worked with Nick at the Kansas City Chiefs he was were hiring. He was coaching at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Todd Haley hired him, knew him and brought him in, and he is a terrify young coach. He is a football lifer. His dad is a career football coach. People his brothers a coach. You need to give people a chance before you get after people. It's it's you know. And when you look at people. One of the things we always did in terms of players and coaches and scouts is figure out what people can do. Everyone's got something they can't do. Focus on the things they can do, and that group of three people to certainly do great. Yeah they can right now? They can? Yeah, yeah, without a doubt. Like you just said, Eagles are three and all the Raiders are all with three. You talk about giving a chance. This is McDaniel's second chance. Yeah. As a front office member a team that has so much expectations, you start out so well, what is the thought process and how do you go about it? As a GA, Jason, I think the most important thing is a front office, head, coach, general manager. Your top priorities to eliminate distractions. You eliminate distractions so people can perform at their best. And when you don't manage expectations, when there's too much information out there where that is a distraction. Now, I'll tell you this, I know that the overexaggerated expectation of the Raiders that wasn't coming from Josh. He was probably not enjoying that at all. So to me, I think Josh had a completely different narrative within the building. The funny thing was, to me, in this offseason we watched teams talk about Russ and the Broncos, the Raiders, and Josh has changed. I'm not disrespecting of those people, but the amount of disrespect I thought was being thrown at the Kansas City Chiefs and for what they have accomplished, how good they are. I understand they lost Tyreek Hill, They've still got all future Hall of Fame coach and a future Hall of Fame quarterback. You need to show those folks respect. You always make it smarter, we always say in this little box remotely, it's so cool that you're here, that you're in London with us. It's a thrill to see the man. It's great. The Commanders have given up a ton of yards in the air and on the ground. This will be my first win a tex A scot Champ all Texas Dallas versus Houston. So we've got Peter's rookie pair. Um, what do you got, Jimmie, I don't think that's here. What do you go? Yeah? Um, I am gonna go with the UK's team, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Christian Kirk and James Robinson. No kind of it's a loose is a loose and cool reception there, Um, but kirktt Robinson. They have combined for seven touchdowns for the Jags for the first three games. I just I'm so excited to watch this Jaguars Eagle team. So I just figured I'll take these guys because I'm gonna be watching together. Yeah, that's a good gut to go with. So I'm gonna go with the rookie running back Bruce Hall, and I'm gonna go with Garrett Wilson, And I'm gonna try to see if we can take this thing off get a second win for Robert Salom and the boys. His head hit the turf and he did not move. We're not showing the close up shot that you've seen because we don't want to see it anymore, and neither to you. They had to take him off on a stretcher. They evaluated him. He was conscious after the game he had moved on all his extremities and is apparently what we're hearing looking up. So we're happy for that. And more on in a minute twenty seven to fifteen the Bengals of now one two in a row for an owned two start. That's the Dolphins first loss of the season. But afterwards, the entire story up until the minute right now as we are speaking to you, is about the quarterback of the Miami Dolphins and his health and his decision to be out there rather the team's decision. Here's Mike McDaniel on his reaction to Tah's injury. That was an emotional moment. That is not part of the deal that anyone signs up four, even though you know it's a possibility in football to have something that you have to get taken off on a stretcher. All of his teammates, myself, we were all very concerned. So the best news that we could get is that everything is checked out, that he didn't have any anything more serious than a concussion. He'll be flying back with us here on the plane. Ian Rappaport, what is the latest for the quarterback from Miami this morning? And you can see the emotion on the face of head coach Mike McDaniel and just a really stirring and scary scene with Tua laying there being taken away on a stretcher, ended up being taken to the hospital. Was released last night, flew back with the team. All that is good news. You're gonna have some more tests today on as the NFL doctors and the independent neurologists continue to monitor his concussion. Also some tests on his neck just to make sure that he is all good there, but certainly some initially some good news after a very scary scene. That is one issue related to Tua and his health. Obviously, he is now in the concussion protocol. We'll see about whether or not he's playing in the next game. Not that is the most important thing, but we cover football. That is something we will be tracking. There's also the investigation into the concussion protocol on Sunday, why two was not placing it and the evaluation that is still ongoing. The NFLPA exercise their right to ask for it the NFL, as NFL official Jeff Miller said, the NFL welcomes it and time will tell when that comes back and what they determined As far as why too was wobbly and why he seemed to have trouble walking. They believed the doctors did that it was his neck, not his head, But obviously time will tell what the investigation ends up showing. Yes, we're all wishing well for two. I got a chance to play in the lock one with that guy as tough as they come. Wants to be out there with his guy I saw. Hoping he heals up quickly. But Ian dangerous storms have been hitting the state of Florida. We heard Tampa going down to Miami to do the practice in it, making sure they're safe and their families are safe. Well, we got some good news yesterday. What's the latest on the Chiefs books football game on Sunday night? Yeah, some good news. Hurricane Ian hits landfall and seems to be kind of going in the correct direction. I guess maybe that's I don't know if that's the best way to say it weatherwise, but it is a good thing. There's a little more optimism there as far as the storm being through. The NFL has said in consultation with the Governor's office and the mayor's office that the game is on for Sunday night as scheduled in Tampa, and local officials said that the having the game on Sunday night would not take resources away from the drastic recovery efforts in the area. That is a good thing. Meanwhile, the league and the team are working on charitable relief efforts to support those organizations impacted by the storm. More details to come on that. You know, with Patrick Mahomes's case, you go into Indianapolis, a couple of calls don't go your way, but the frustration was boiling over. We saw him visibly in an altercation with Eric b Enemy as offensive coordinator with Tom Brady, this team hasn't thrown a touchdown and pass in the first half of any of their first three games. They scored twelve points last week. They had to almost pull the rabbit out of their hat. What is the conversation for both offenses, because both these teams should be scoring more points and doing more based on expectations. Exactly to what you just said. This is the first time no face offs in Super Bowl fifty five and Tampa where Brady was hoisting the trophy. Well, like you said, we already know what's going on with the Kansas City offense. Not only have they not scored in the first half, they only scored one touchdown in each of those games. So somehow one of these offenses need to get gone. I think it's going to be harder for Kansas City because of that Bucks defense. I'm just excited about the Monday Morning takes on. Who are Road loses this game because they're gonna be two and two. There's a lot of takes on Kyler and you go into this one and you've got Kingsbury as your guy in the back. You're here on London's grounds, but it's not the first time for you. You've been here twice before with teams. Take us through the strategy of when you arrive, should we come early in the week late in the weekend, How those decisions are made at the league's at the team side. The team we do so much relying on the NFL office. The NFL office has this thing down. So when really you have this is where your equipment people shine, your video people shine, your trainers, your football ops people. Because they have to do their job, they have to communicate with all the people. It's all like any other road game. Quite honestly, you're just going across the pond and you've got so much that's taking care of with the infrastructure by the people at the league office. They do an incredible job. So really it's just kind of plug and play. The most difficult part for the team is getting an idea of what your travel schedule was prior to it, what your travel schedule is going to be afterwards. Interested in the sleep because it's not necessarily the distance, it's the time zone changes, and that's what really messes with the player's rest and everybody else's rest. But this has become such a machine in terms of league office and what a great job they do in preparation for our football ops people to just jump in. Saints had different strategies this week. Is there a right strategy? It's like a lot of things, you know, a lot of people say this is the right way to do it. Whatever works for you and works, well, that's that's the right way. Different people have their game. That was the right shot. It was exactly right, exactly. Kevin O'Connell told me last night that they had fifty laydown seats on the Vikings plan and all the players got them, and he said he knew he was going to have angry coaches when they landed today because they all had to sit up right, the whole plane over here, and I gotta make your sacrifices where they land sometime. So the other game I'm super excited about this weekend is Eagles Jaguars. The Eagles kind of went through a litany of scrutiny coming into this season, but now they're three and oh, you know some of those guys on that team, what's up with them? Jamie? I tell you last year this time, remember everyone was making jokes about Nick Sirianni. They were Vontae Smith, he's too skinny, he can't play in this league. And it's funny. I always bristle at that because give people a chance. And now we're looking to, say year later, and I understand, we're only three games. In three A lot can happen, a lot of football has to be played. But when you look at Nick Sirianni, you look at Jalen Hurt, you look at Vontae Smith, there's three people who had been under a lot of scrutiny, and a couple of those guys I know really well. I worked with Nick at the Kansas City Chiefs he was were hiring. He was coaching at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Todd Haley hired him, knew him and brought him in, and he is a terrify young coach. He is a football lifer. His dad is a career football coach. People his brothers a coach. You need to give people a chance before you get after people. It's it's you know. And when you look at people. One of the things we always did in terms of players and coaches and scouts is figure out what people can do. Everyone's got something they can't do. Focus on the things they can do, and that group of three people to certainly do great. Yeah they can right now? They can? Yeah, yeah, without a doubt. Like you just said, Eagles are three and all the Raiders are all with three. You talk about giving a chance. This is McDaniel's second chance. Yeah. As a front office member a team that has so much expectations, you start out so well, what is the thought process and how do you go about it? As a GA, Jason, I think the most important thing is a front office, head, coach, general manager. Your top priorities to eliminate distractions. You eliminate distractions so people can perform at their best. And when you don't manage expectations, when there's too much information out there where that is a distraction. Now, I'll tell you this, I know that the overexaggerated expectation of the Raiders that wasn't coming from Josh. He was probably not enjoying that at all. So to me, I think Josh had a completely different narrative within the building. The funny thing was, to me, in this offseason we watched teams talk about Russ and the Broncos, the Raiders, and Josh has changed. I'm not disrespecting of those people, but the amount of disrespect I thought was being thrown at the Kansas City Chiefs and for what they have accomplished, how good they are. I understand they lost Tyreek Hill, They've still got all future Hall of Fame coach and a future Hall of Fame quarterback. You need to show those folks respect.
