Speaker 1: All right, everyone.
00:00:02
Speaker 2: Chill.
00:00:03
Speaker 3: This is the cooler.
00:00:05
Speaker 4: He's bitten a cooler.
00:00:07
Speaker 3: Of content.
00:00:08
Speaker 4: Cornucopatious of joyful news.
00:00:11
Speaker 2: Am I being honest, son?
00:00:12
Speaker 4: F * * * yeah, baby!
00:00:13
Speaker 3: Murph and Marcus is sponsored by Bigelow Tea. Grab a mug and tea proudly.
00:00:19
Speaker 4: Oh yeah, 80s Friday.
00:00:21
Speaker 5: Combined with Halloween Friday.
00:00:23
Speaker 6: We've heard Thriller, Ghostbusters, Somebody's Watching Me.
00:00:30
Speaker 4: Dead Man's Party, Halloween theme.
00:00:33
Speaker 6: And in the middle of it, out of nowhere, I just jammed in Jeffrey Osborne's Stay With Me Tonight.
00:00:37
Speaker 5: The double clap.
00:00:40
Speaker 4: This is, uh, do you know this, Marcus? I don't think I do, based off the intro.
00:00:46
Speaker 5: World of hip-hop.
00:00:48
Speaker 4: Is this Slick Rick?
00:00:50
Speaker 3: You tell me.
00:00:51
Speaker 4: Sounds like him.
00:00:56
Speaker 6: I think that's a compliment to DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.
00:01:01
Speaker 4: Wow, this is Jazzy Jeff. Yeah, now I hear it, but I don't think I've heard this, Murph.
00:01:07
Speaker 5: It's Will.
00:01:08
Speaker 4: Will does the rapping, right?
00:01:09
Speaker 5: Is this the Fresh Prince?
00:01:11
Speaker 4: But Will does the rapping, doesn't he?
00:01:12
Speaker 5: So that's Fresh Prince.
00:01:14
Speaker 4: Yes, well, Jazzy Jeff.
00:01:15
Speaker 1: You're right.
00:01:15
Speaker 4: Usually is the DJ, the producer, has hopped on a couple of tracks. But yeah, did not recognize Will's young voice from the 1980s. Nightmare on My Street.
00:01:25
Speaker 6: One of those silly, trademark Will Smith rated G raps where he meets Freddy Krueger.
00:01:31
Speaker 4: Oh, they're all rated G, Murr. He never swears in any of his songs. He doesn't? No, he made a promise to his grandma that he would never swear in any of his rap tracks. Does that mean that the rap community views him as whack?
00:01:42
Speaker 7: You know, good question.
00:01:44
Speaker 4: Like, for me, like, I think about Will Smith more as an actor than a rapper. Can't you hear the bars here, buddy? Well, yeah, I can hear the bars, obviously, and going back to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. But, yeah, I don't know. Will Smith is not really talked about a lot in the rap community, I feel like.
00:01:57
Speaker 6: 808 KBR, where does Will Smith rank in the rap community?
00:02:01
Speaker 4: Like, Walter, what do you think about when you think about Will Smith the rapper?
00:02:06
Speaker 7: I mean, yeah, it's not really at the forefront of my mind when it comes to Will Smith. I mean, I'm thinking of Independence Day. I'm thinking of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I'm thinking of his acting career.
00:02:15
Speaker 4: I'm thinking Men in Black, Wild Wild West.
00:02:17
Speaker 7: I'll tell you one person that doesn't like him in the rap community is Eminem. Eminem is not a Will Smith fan.
00:02:23
Speaker 4: Well, is that because of what happened with Chris Rock or is that because.
00:02:25
Speaker 5: Of something else?
00:02:25
Speaker 2: No, no, no.
00:02:26
Speaker 7: It's because of his stance of not using curse words.
00:02:30
Speaker 4: So Eminem, like... Keep my wife's name out your mouth!
00:02:34
Speaker 5: What a scene.
00:02:35
Speaker 4: What a scene.
00:02:35
Speaker 1: Wow.
00:02:36
Speaker 6: By the way, so, you know, they're having a rapper's summit. They said they're having a rapper's summit. You know, we're going to, like the five families. You know, Jay-Z's there, Lil Wayne's there, Eminem's there.
00:02:48
Speaker 4: Cool Moe D's there. Slick Rick's there.
00:02:50
Speaker 6: Does Will Smith get the invite to the Rapper's Summit?
00:02:53
Speaker 4: I don't think top five invites. No, I'm just talking about the Summit is a big room. Like a big room.
00:02:57
Speaker 8: Yeah, okay.
00:02:58
Speaker 7: He'll be like in the back row. He gets the invitation, I guess.
00:03:01
Speaker 5: He gets the invite.
00:03:03
Speaker 4: He gets to hang out. And I wonder how he'd be received at the Summit.
00:03:06
Speaker 7: Be like, oh, there's this guy.
00:03:08
Speaker 4: Or they'd be like, you know what, bro?
00:03:09
Speaker 5: I admire your stance.
00:03:10
Speaker 4: Yeah, or they're like, check out this squeaky clean rapper who left us to become an actor.
00:03:15
Speaker 5: Anyway, happy 80s Friday.
00:03:19
Speaker 8: Everybody.
00:03:19
Speaker 6: All right, so the Cooler of Content is sponsored by MarinHealth with top physicians, surgeons.
00:03:25
Speaker 5: And clinicians right here in the North Bay.
00:03:26
Speaker 4: 408 says, Will Smith, more of a slapper than a rapper. Hey, that's pretty good. Good text, 408. Good text.
00:03:32
Speaker 6: MarinHealth puts you closer to your best health, world-class care, closer than you think.
00:03:37
Speaker 4: All right, what do we got here?
00:03:38
Speaker 8: What do we got?
00:03:39
Speaker 2: We got....
00:03:41
Speaker 4: Well, I cut this.
00:03:42
Speaker 5: We might as well play it.
00:03:43
Speaker 1: Why not?
00:03:43
Speaker 6: I mean, in honor of Milwaukee winning the championship, and how about them going to Lambeau last night? So I was driving home yesterday. I'm listening to my Johnny Lund. Lund goes to commercial. Not that I don't love my commercials. Hell, I'm doing them all.
00:03:56
Speaker 4: Yeah, it's funny. When you turn off commercials, you're actually just turning off yourself. I know.
00:04:00
Speaker 6: So I went over to Rich Eisen. I was just cruising around the dial. I said, what are they talking about in the chatterverse? I got to Rich Eisen, and he goes, hey, how great would it be if the Brewers showed up tonight at Lambeau with the trophy?
00:04:11
Speaker 4: I was like, yeah, that's awesome.
00:04:12
Speaker 6: He goes, Panthers should have no chance, none chance. Walking in with the trophy, and I was like, well, Rich Eisen's the kind of guy, somebody probably tipped him off.
00:04:19
Speaker 4: Because sure enough, did you guys see? Oh, I saw.
00:04:22
Speaker 5: They walked out.
00:04:23
Speaker 4: That was one of the great, like, enthusiasm. You know what?
00:04:28
Speaker 5: I'm going to call an audible.
00:04:29
Speaker 8: Here, Walt.
00:04:30
Speaker 5: Let's play the audio anyway.
00:04:31
Speaker 2: Do it.
00:04:32
Speaker 4: Play the video. Let's crash the entire YouTube stream.
00:04:34
Speaker 1: Blanket.
00:04:35
Speaker 7: Who cares?
00:04:35
Speaker 4: It's a Friday.
00:04:36
Speaker 5: Bring it down.
00:04:36
Speaker 4: Yeah, we'll do it live. We don't.
00:04:39
Speaker 6: Our video, in case you're a devoted listener, thank you, we're having trouble with our video.
00:04:45
Speaker 4: So we can't play the video. But I think the audio's worth it. Yeah, we have problems trying to get the video up. Do you want to try it? I heard there's pills for that. Walt's going to stick his head in the lion's mouth.
00:04:54
Speaker 5: He's going to go.
00:04:55
Speaker 4: Yeah, we might disappear.
00:04:56
Speaker 5: What did you say we have pills for?
00:04:57
Speaker 4: Getting our videos up. No. Yeah, uh-huh. You know, it's tough this early in the morning.
00:05:02
Speaker 2: Okay, dude.
00:05:06
Speaker 5: By the way, my buddy Daryl checked in from the jungle.
00:05:08
Speaker 6: He says Will Smith does get the invite based solely on his epic hit, Summertime.
00:05:13
Speaker 4: I mean, that is a banger. That is an absolute banger. I mean, that's an all-time classic.
00:05:16
Speaker 5: He says, yes, he's sometimes corny, but there's respect in there.
00:05:19
Speaker 8: All right.
00:05:20
Speaker 4: I stand with Daryl.
00:05:21
Speaker 5: That's Daryl's, you know, he's just checking in.
00:05:22
Speaker 4: Oh, Daryl knows ball. He's checking in. Here we go. Okay, we're going to do the video.
00:05:28
Speaker 6: I got to say, I mean, is this, I mean, how you felt in 2010? how you felt in 2012, how you felt in 2014, how you felt at that Warriors parade in 2015, how you felt in the Warriors parade in 2017, how Draymond got drunk at the Warriors parade in 2018 or whatever. This is that feeling. But I don't think we had as great a moment as this where the football team is playing the next night after you won the World Series and the baseball team arrives with the trophy. That's about, I can't remember that in other places, World Series champs or Super Bowl champs.
00:06:01
Speaker 5: Can you?
00:06:01
Speaker 4: No, I can't. And it seemed like everything lined up perfectly. And it was cool to see the World Series trophy at Lambeau yesterday, despite the fact that you actually put me on game yesterday talking about how far away Green Bay and Milwaukee actually are. It is.
00:06:15
Speaker 5: It's, uh, top of my head, couple hours.
00:06:18
Speaker 3: Is it really?
00:06:19
Speaker 5: I'm going to do it right now.
00:06:20
Speaker 4: But because, you know, South Freelike didn't hit on SportsCenter. I didn't know you could drive a couple hours without leaving Wisconsin.
00:06:25
Speaker 6: Yeah, it's not a bad little, uh, it is, uh, yeah, it's 120 miles. So two hours to two hours and a half.
00:06:32
Speaker 2: Okay.
00:06:32
Speaker 6: Yeah, so, you know, it's a little bit of a haul. They took a bus, shockingly, but I think there might have been beer on the bus.
00:06:38
Speaker 5: Oh, I'm guaranteed.
00:06:39
Speaker 4: Oh, with Trevor McGill. Boys, I found more beers! Back of the bus.
00:06:43
Speaker 6: I just think this is so great. This is a fantastic walk in here. We're going to try the video. We're going to bring down the house.
00:06:49
Speaker 4: Let's do it. Everybody go to your YouTube stream. Yeah, for now.
00:06:52
Speaker 5: If you're in your car, just enjoy the audio.
00:06:54
Speaker 4: Out they walk.
00:06:55
Speaker 6: It's not the entire team. It's Brandon Woodruff's holding the trophy. He's one of the longest tenured brewers, right?
00:07:00
Speaker 2: Yes, he is.
00:07:01
Speaker 6: Sal Freelick, everybody freaking loves Sal Freelick. Mizorowski's there too. And then they start Lambo leaping.
00:07:08
Speaker 5: It's incredible.
00:07:09
Speaker 6: Sal Freelick gets all the love because Peacock shows him or Prime shows him. But I saw a video from a fan in the stands. They were all doing it. It was like eight of them were doing Lambo Leaves. And he was yelling, the guy who was filming it was going.
00:07:21
Speaker 4: This is so effing great, man. This is so effing great.
00:07:26
Speaker 5: So here's a great scene. Here you go.
00:07:28
Speaker 1: Moments ago, here came the World Series trophy. Pitcher Brandon Woodruff holding it along. Several of the Brewers. have made the trek from Milwaukee up to Green Bay after winning the World Series last night. The response was fantastic. And a couple of the guys even did a Lambeau leap.
00:07:51
Speaker 2: That's pretty awesome.
00:07:52
Speaker 4: That is just awesome.
00:07:55
Speaker 2: The greatest.
00:07:56
Speaker 8: This state, and of course.
00:07:58
Speaker 4: That's awesome. Sal Freeland attacking that Lambeau leap like he's robbing a home run. It's not an easy leap. No, that's a pretty tall wall. You've got to be an athlete. We've seen people fail before.
00:08:08
Speaker 5: Look at the freeze frame.
00:08:10
Speaker 4: That's awesome. If you're one of those fans.
00:08:14
Speaker 4: Are you getting that oil painting or what? I'm getting that tattooed on my chest if I'm one of those fans.
00:08:19
Speaker 6: Look at that. The gal who's holding him. She looks like a housewife from Oshkosh.
00:08:26
Speaker 4: You know what I mean? Yeah, she probably lives across the street from the stadium.
00:08:28
Speaker 5: But, of course, they're all Packers fans. You know what I mean? And so the one guy to the right is a little scared.
00:08:33
Speaker 4: But check out the wife. The mom in the back is shrieking.
00:08:36
Speaker 5: Everybody's happy.
00:08:37
Speaker 4: That's an awesome photo. That's too much fun, man. You've got to get that framed.
00:08:41
Speaker 6: That's like such a rated G fun that Will Smith could rap about it.
00:08:45
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:08:46
Speaker 4: He definitely could do the soundtrack to the whole entire Brewer celebration campaign. And we've got them on the TV right now with their World Series parade going on. But I don't know if you can match that energy and that environment. taking out the damn World Series trophy, the hunk of metal out the Lambo.
00:09:01
Speaker 6: There was a, so I was in the car last night and I was listening to it on the radio and they were cheering and crazy and they came back and the guy, I forget who it was, I'm sorry, it wasn't Kurt Warner, it was the color guy on the Westwood One broadcast.
00:09:16
Speaker 4: They go, oh, that's great, man.
00:09:18
Speaker 6: He goes, man, the two loudest times I've ever heard Lambo are when the Brewers walked out and when.
00:09:23
Speaker 4: Smack makes an extra point.
00:09:25
Speaker 5: Smack.
00:09:27
Speaker 4: Because their guy has missed eight PATs.
00:09:30
Speaker 9: Yeah.
00:09:30
Speaker 4: So they were doing huge sarcastic cheers when he was making PATs. Yeah, shout out to the text line that corrected me after our conversation with Guy Haberman. Smack now leads the NFL in missed kicks. Not Eddie Pinero with his seven missed kicks on the year.
00:09:41
Speaker 5: Shout out Pauly Mac's jersey nickname.
00:09:43
Speaker 2: Smack.
00:09:43
Speaker 4: Smack, yeah.
00:09:44
Speaker 7: Did you hear that thing hit the post last night?
00:09:46
Speaker 2: No, I missed it.
00:09:46
Speaker 4: The first one?
00:09:47
Speaker 7: Oh, my God. That is one of the sounds that brings... a smile to my face every single time.
00:09:52
Speaker 4: It's so funny. It was loud last night.
00:09:55
Speaker 6: The loudest sounds are when the Brewers came out and when Smack makes a PAT. Some good stuff here. What do you guys want to do here after that? You want to do a little Ernie Johnson?
00:10:04
Speaker 4: Ooh, I'll take a little EJ.
00:10:05
Speaker 6: How about Charles Barkley? So Ernie Johnson, he's not retiring from sportscasting. He says he's still going to work. He's just leaving the show. He's leaving inside the NBA. This is our last go-round.
00:10:14
Speaker 5: Let's go Charles. Let's get a little Charles cut M.
00:10:17
Speaker 6: Charles Barkley to Ernie Johnson on leaving the inside the NBA.
00:10:22
Speaker 2: That was tough. We knew the day was coming. It's still tough.
00:10:31
Speaker 9: Been here for 26, 27 years and it's been an honor and a privilege to work with you all this time and Kenny and Shaq and the amazing people behind the scenes. Nothing like it to be able to to dribble a stupid basketball and get rich and famous, and then come here and get paid to watch the best players in the world, the best players in the world.
00:10:58
Speaker 2: You get paid to do it. We'd watch anyway.
00:11:01
Speaker 9: And so many people had, you know, Turner, WBD, and now I guess we Skydance.
00:11:09
Speaker 2: But it's been an amazing journey.
00:11:11
Speaker 9: You've been our leader, our unquestionable leader, The question I'm asked the most, I'm not going to lie. Most of the time I'm like, where's Shaq and where's Kenny? Like I keep them in my damn back pocket. But the question I'm probably asked the most is, is Ernie Johnson as good a person.
00:11:30
Speaker 2: As he seems? And I say, man, he's better than that.
00:11:35
Speaker 9: So I just want to say thank you. Thank you for being our leader for all these years.
00:11:43
Speaker 5: And There it is, man. So a lot of heartfelt stuff. Ernie got emotional, huh?
00:11:47
Speaker 4: Yeah, he did.
00:11:47
Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:11:48
Speaker 4: I love him, man. He's great.
00:11:50
Speaker 6: It's without question the best panel sports show in American TV sports history.
00:11:56
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:11:57
Speaker 3: Number one.
00:11:58
Speaker 4: There's no argument, really. No argument.
00:11:59
Speaker 6: I mean, listen, with respect to the others that have tried or whatever, Brent Musburger, Phyllis George, and Irv Cross on NFL Today, Jimmy the Greek, but no.
00:12:07
Speaker 4: This is it, man. This is it. They are absolutely by miles the best. I mean, there have been... multiple points during an NBA season where I look at the schedule to see who's playing on TNT or I guess now it's ESPN, whatever, just to see what time the tip time is so that I could show up at halftime. Like I don't even care about the teams who were playing in the game. I just wanted to watch inside the NBA at halftime or even pre and post just because of those four guys.
00:12:33
Speaker 6: It's literally can't miss. Like you got to see it. So Ernie, let's just enjoy this last year. Finally, I want to end on a lighter note here. The Hawks, the Atlanta Hawks won a game last night. There's no Aaron Wiggins.
00:12:46
Speaker 4: Oh, so that means that Atlanta went 2-0 in State Farm Arena yesterday. Dream and the Hawks doubled down and got back-to-back wins. They didn't have to clean up any confetti yesterday.
00:12:56
Speaker 6: I don't know how you feel about this, but the Hawks are doing a, are they doing a Hawk call if they win?
00:13:01
Speaker 4: I don't know.
00:13:02
Speaker 6: So here's Aaron Wiggins postgame interview with the Atlanta Hawks postgame reporter.
00:13:07
Speaker 4: All right, Wiggs, we got to close out the interview, right? I need your biggest and baddest caca.
00:13:13
Speaker 8: Caca! There it is, buddy.
00:13:15
Speaker 4: Caca! I mean, that seems to be like, caca! That's kind of like any bird, isn't it? Yeah, I mean, that's just like the typical bird impression, right?
00:13:25
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:13:26
Speaker 4: Caca!
00:13:27
Speaker 1: Caca!
00:13:27
Speaker 6: So now reporters are prompting players like Jalen Johnson and him to do it. Just wanted to end it with a little, just let you guys know, let you guys know what's going down in the ATM.
00:13:36
Speaker 4: Yeah, see, that's not bad, but I'd rather hear Abner Uribe celebrate a win.
00:13:44
Speaker 3: Perfect.
00:13:45
Speaker 4: Mic drop. End of cooler of contest. Do we want to squeeze in the Milwaukee Brewer kid before time expires? Well, Curly said it was a video that was more important, and we don't want to try another video. No, no, for the kid, he's just crying, talking about how it's the happiest day of his life. Let's squeeze it in real quick, just because this sound is going to expire by the time we get in the cooler of content on Monday. Walter, you've got to cut up, cut F. This is a Brewers fan talking about the best day of his life. What's going through your mind right now?
00:14:14
Speaker 1: I'm just so happy I can experience this.
00:14:19
Speaker 8: I'm so happy I can experience this.
00:14:23
Speaker 1: How special has it been to watch this Milwaukee Brewers team? It's the happiest day of my life.
00:14:32
Speaker 4: Who's your favorite brewer?
00:14:34
Speaker 9: William Contreras, MVP.
00:14:39
Speaker 4: What are you doing to celebrate?
00:14:40
Speaker 9: Are you going to school tomorrow?
00:14:42
Speaker 4: Yeah. Sadly. But hey, you got to watch.
00:14:48
Speaker 5: The Brewers win the.
00:14:49
Speaker 4: World Series, right? Yeah.
00:14:51
Speaker 3: Awesome.
00:14:53
Speaker 6: How long are you going to remember this moment?
00:14:55
Speaker 2: Forever and ever.
00:14:56
Speaker 4: Do you love the Milwaukee Brewers?
00:15:00
Speaker 10: Yes.
00:15:01
Speaker 7: Yes, I do.
00:15:03
Speaker 4: Are you going to stop crying tonight or no?
00:15:05
Speaker 9: Probably not.
00:15:09
Speaker 6: Man, the kid's only about eight, nine? Yeah, I'd say eight or nine years old. Yeah, no, a kid like that crying, he doesn't understand the emotions of it. I think he might have his own things going on.
00:15:18
Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe. And that's what I was going to ask you because, of course, you're a Little League coach. You have kids. But also, like, this kid hasn't experienced the pain and misery of being a Brewer fan. That's why I think there's something going on. Like, I enjoy watching, like, the old heads play. Ooh, start to tear up. Like, guys who have been around since the creation of the Milwaukee Brewers.
00:15:37
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
00:15:38
Speaker 4: This kid doesn't know what it's like to struggle.
00:15:39
Speaker 2: I have to save my life.
00:15:41
Speaker 6: The only time you see absolute gushing tears is, like, the embarrassment of a big strikeout in Little League, back in the dugout.
00:15:48
Speaker 5: Here comes the waterfall of tears, you know?
00:15:50
Speaker 4: I remember, too, when we.
00:15:51
Speaker 6: We had a tough, brutal playoff loss, and our season was over. And shout-out Colt, who's now in college, by the way, turning to me.
00:16:00
Speaker 4: With huge tears. This is me. We don't play tomorrow. I was like, no, we don't. We're done, buddy. We're done. Happiest day of my life.
00:16:09
Speaker 7: This is the worst day of my life, coach.
00:16:11
Speaker 6: So there you go. So fun stuff. All right, great, cooler content. We'll get Larry Kruger.

00:17:07
Speaker 8: Good morning, guys.
00:17:08
Speaker 4: We got Krug on video. I like it.
00:17:09
Speaker 5: I like it.
00:17:09
Speaker 4: I like it.
00:17:10
Speaker 8: Hey!
00:17:11
Speaker 2: Hey!
00:17:12
Speaker 4: How you guys doing?
00:17:13
Speaker 5: How you doing?
00:17:13
Speaker 4: Your kids are all aged out of trick-or-treating, man. It's over, huh?
00:17:17
Speaker 8: Well, yeah, you know, I mean, I do have a 16-year-old who's a junior in high school, and I think he's probably going to dress up, you know.
00:17:25
Speaker 2: Okay, all right.
00:17:26
Speaker 8: My wife, I don't know, she teaches school, so I think she's going to be encouraged to dress up. So really, it would just be me that's not dressing up. My other kids are, you know, at college or out of college, and who knows what they're doing as far as dressing up for Halloween, but. I loved the holiday as a kid. It was a great day. You made yourself sick running around the neighborhood. But it was a lot of fun as well.
00:17:52
Speaker 5: It was a great day.
00:17:53
Speaker 2: It really was.
00:17:54
Speaker 6: And shout out, you know, back in the old days, the innocence of shaving cream and toilet paper and all that stuff. Nowadays, they call for like a federal investigation if you did that stuff.
00:18:05
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:18:06
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:18:06
Speaker 8: I mean, you know, you're getting six months to a year.
00:18:09
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:18:11
Speaker 8: Yeah, you're going to be locked up. But yeah, no, I mean, it is Halloween does kind of evolve from, you know, little kids. And then, you know, when you're in high school, all of a sudden you're like hooligans. And then when you get to college, it's like, hey, let's have a let's all dress up and have a party. So, yeah, there's different stages of Halloween.
00:18:30
Speaker 4: Well, in the 80s, for sure, UC Santa Barbara was known for its Halloween. That was like, that was it. You had to go.
00:18:35
Speaker 7: You had to go.
00:18:35
Speaker 4: I'd say in the 2010s, it was still popping. Was it still? Oh, yeah. I made a couple trips down there.
00:18:39
Speaker 2: Okay. Good news.
00:18:40
Speaker 5: Good news.
00:18:41
Speaker 2: All right.
00:18:41
Speaker 6: Well, the 49ers have time to do that because they're off this weekend, Larry. But we haven't talked to you since the DeForest Buckner trade. Defoe comes home, the reunion, Dre Greenlaw, Debo Samuel, DeForest Buckner.
00:18:53
Speaker 5: It's incredible.
00:18:54
Speaker 4: Let's start there before we get to the next step.
00:18:56
Speaker 5: You know, the reunion is amazing.
00:18:58
Speaker 6: You can criticize it like, hey, man, you can't recreate the magic with a bunch of old guys.
00:19:03
Speaker 5: Or can you, Larry?
00:19:06
Speaker 8: Well, I mean, it depends which old guys you're going for. You know, DeForest Buckner was leading the Colts in snaps played. So it's not like this guy, oh, you know, he's just a bit player. He's just a role player. He can only do this. He can only do that. He steps in as, I believe, the Niners sack leader, pressure leader, and snaps leader.
00:19:25
Speaker 2: You know, so.
00:19:26
Speaker 8: So he's pretty good. He's pretty good. And he's still playing at a pretty high level. And I think it was an incredible addition. I mean, if you look at those three trades, the Seahawks, Bears and Niners trade just and put them up side by side, it's like John Lynch is the winner by far. I mean, a fourth round pick for DeForest Buckner is incredible value, I think.
00:19:45
Speaker 4: What did you think about the Quentin Nelson trade for a third rounder, Larry?
00:19:49
Speaker 8: Yeah. I mean, it was a great trade. I mean, you know, I mean, John Schneider is getting a compensatory pick back for one of his assistants becoming the new GM in Minnesota, Marcus. And then he's getting four compensatory picks for losing Kenneth Walker and Tariq Woolen and all those free agents. So you know, between those five additional picks, it's almost like they're getting Quentin Nelson for nothing. And if you look at their team and you know their team, I mean, Sam Darnold is on the verge of losing his job if they don't get an offensive lineman and a better running back because he's a play-action quarterback. I mean, if he can't, you know, go play-action pass, you've seen what he looks like. He looked horrible in a couple of those games, and they have to have a run game. They really do. And their right guard has been a huge problem spot. Now, this guy's going to plug in at left guard, but they'll move guys around. Zabel will either kick out to right tackle or move to right guard. But yeah, this gives Seattle a chance to run the ball and lean on their defense, and that's their recipe to win.
00:20:55
Speaker 6: How concerned, excuse me, speaking of trade possibilities, because that's my sort of follow-up, is the next step. I was telling Marcus today, I wrote it in the jock blog, I need more. I'm going to need another piece. And whether it's a receiver or a corner or interior O-line.
00:21:12
Speaker 2: Are you on the board?
00:21:13
Speaker 5: Do you need more before November 10th?
00:21:17
Speaker 8: I mean, you got a shot at the Super Bowl right now, but to me, it's so directly tied to the health of Bosa, the health of Evans, and the health of their three corners. That, to me, is where I get question marks. If you don't have Evans, you got real issues. You've seen it the last game and a half. If you don't have Bosa, I think eventually your pass rush is going to dry up. And then if you have to lean on any corner that's not your top three guys, you're in a problem spot as well. So I think there's three areas there where they could really use an upgrade. But it can't be just a nominal upgrade. If you're going to go for a nominal upgrade, it's probably not worth doing. But if you can get a significant piece, I mean, Barrows listed Yaya Diaby, Will McDonald, Josh Sweat as pass rushers the Niners could trade for. Any one of those guys could really change the outlook of the season. I'm kind of concerned about Evans, you know, Achilles situation. And I, and I don't know that I would just be, you know, comfortable with just, well, you know, DeMarcus Robinson and Stribling are coming back. It's like, well, okay. But I mean, if you can find a difference making playmaker, you know, maybe that would be nice, but I do think Lynch is going to shop for a bargain here. I get the sense they're going to, that, that, you know, they don't want to trade day one picks. They probably don't want to trade day two picks. They'd like to keep their picks. It's a banner draft. I think they'd like to retain those picks, but I think they'd like to make a Keon White trade, which is, you know, they, last year they traded a six round pick for Keon, who had been a second round pick and wasn't a scheme fit where he was. And it wasn't a fit. I think that's what they're looking for. If they can find a talented player that maybe was a first, second or third round pick, that's kind of fallen out of favor in his current spot. The guy that I think of a lot, and I'm not saying they're going to make this deal, But Olufemi Oladejo, who played at UCLA, who played at Cal, you know, he was drafted by the previous regime. He's more of a 3-4 outside backer. He's playing in a 4-3. That's not necessarily a scheme fit. Robert Sala and Lynch are tight. Maybe they get Oladejo, who would be a terrific addition for Raheem and would very much fit Raheem's scheme. Maybe they get him for a day three pick. I think that would be what I would be looking for.
00:23:43
Speaker 4: Larry, it feels like the 49ers are trying to find that balance right now of adding more talent on the defensive line, but also giving opportunities to some of the young guys we've seen, like Grayson Altman or even Romello Height. So with that being said, do you feel like the 49ers still need to add a piece, or how are you feeling about the D-line depth after the Buckner trade?
00:23:59
Speaker 8: Well, I mean, Marcus, I mean, there's no question, you know, they've got great talent across the board here. Romello Height gets better, better, better every week. But some of these guys have been forced to play a lot of snaps. I mean, playing Grayson Halton, 35 snaps as a defensive tackle at the defensive tackle position as a rookie, you know, that's a tall ask. I mean, it is asking a lot. I, I, I don't think they feel bad about these guys. I think they feel awesome about these guys. It's just about supplementing it and coming at, you know, teams and waves. I mean, like give you an example, Buckner, Buckner was playing such a high snap count in Indy, but now he comes here. I would say they're going to limit him to 25, 30 snaps. Well, If you limit a guy who's been playing 48 to 50 snaps to half that or a little bit more, he's going to play better. He's going to play harder with more energy. And I think they would love more guys playing at a higher rate of speed. I know they love their rookies, but if they can get something to ease off on their, I mean, especially as the year goes on, how many weeks can you ask Grayson Halton to play 35 snaps? It really is asking a lot. So I think they want to get ahead of it a little bit.
00:25:09
Speaker 6: Were you concerned, Marcus threw the stat at me this week, that in three straight weeks, Brock Purdy's been sacked multiple times. Are you concerned, A, about that stat, B, about particularly Connor Colby at left guard?
00:25:23
Speaker 4: I'm not.
00:25:23
Speaker 8: I'm not that concerned. I think when you watch the film, you can see the 49ers are running the ball efficiently this year. I think it starts there. He's a big part of that. You know, I also think that there's a tradeoff if you get rid of Connor Colby. yeah, you're going to get maybe a better player that you could plug in there. I mean, if you could get Quentin Nelson, obviously that was going to make a lot of sense. But to pull him out of there just to bring in a stopgap veteran, you lose a little bit in continuity. Those guys have played together all year, and I believe in Connor Colby. I think he'll get it together. I think they can win a Super Bowl. Heck, if they could win a Super Bowl in 81 with Dan Audek.
00:26:01
Speaker 4: Sorry, Dan.
00:26:02
Speaker 8: I think you could win a Super Bowl in 2026 with Connor Colby.
00:26:05
Speaker 5: Love Dan Audek.
00:26:06
Speaker 4: Come on, man. That's right. Larry, I'm going to ask you a question that Murph asked me earlier this week, circling back to the Quentin Nelson trade and the DeForest Buckner trade. In hindsight, if you could pick one of those trades for the 49ers to make, would you rather them traded for Quentin Nelson instead of DeForest Buckner?
00:26:23
Speaker 8: Ooh, that's a great question.
00:26:26
Speaker 2: Would I?
00:26:27
Speaker 8: No, because, you know, I really think that you've got useful. First of all, you've got a coach in first year that I think can make it all come together. I think the other. talking to some of the other guys on that line, there's a, there's a lot of respect for Connor Colby and that he's getting better. I mean, Dom Poonie had great things to say about him. Colton McKibbitz has had great things to say about him. I'm a, I'm a Connor Colby believer. I know he's, he's, he looks like the weak link, but I don't see that when I put, when I turn on the film, I see a guy that's that grades out pretty highly. So no, I would, I would, even though I really do love Quentin Nelson and he's 30. So he's two years younger than, than Buckner. But I think Buckner's a good fit for this locker room, for this team, for this line. I think he'll be great for the other young defensive linemen in the room. I like DeForest. I really do. He was a great player when he was here. I don't think he's quite at that level, but I still think he's playing at a really, really high level. They're both great, but I'd take Buckner.
00:27:30
Speaker 5: Yeah, it is a great question. It's an arm wrestling. You really twist up. I don't know which.
00:27:36
Speaker 6: One I'd rather have. Before I let you go, I'm concerned about corner. They quietly released Jack Jones. Just told him to pack his stuff and go. Sad ending for him. Now I'm looking at corner depth. I get Upton Stout coming back, but man, there's.
00:27:49
Speaker 5: Not a lot of depth there. Are we looking at Prysock? Let's go, the rookie.
00:27:53
Speaker 6: And then Nate Hobbs? Larry, are you concerned about the cornerback depth situation.
00:28:01
Speaker 8: Yes. I mean, to me, this is a big concern because I mean, one, uh, when you run out of corners, you run out of corners and you got to have them. So they got to look at the, you know, there's three or four guys out there. I mean, Reek Wolin in Philadelphia is a prototypical size, weight, speed guy and how he's, you know, sign them to a one-year deal. They're going nowhere. I think he's totally gettable. He only had a $ 1. 26 million base. So you only have to pay the pro rated, uh, portion of that that's very reasonable um i like mikey saner still in washington adam peters it might be worth calling him he's fallen into you know kind of a situation where he doesn't play that much and he was a great player at michigan um and was good in the nfl at the beginning dante jackson from the chargers is a four three corner who's 30 you know it makes six million dollars base you could probably get him uh the big name is alante taylor who kind of was a huge signing by the Tennessee Titans, and now he's kind of falling apart. He got benched as an outside corner. He's more of a slot corner, so maybe if you wanted a slot corner, but there's some money involved there. So, yeah, I mean, I would definitely be looking under every rock for a corner because, to me, the one thing about the 49ers, there's a lot of strengths here, but they are a three-cornerback football team right now. And if you lose any of those three guys, the drop-off is dramatic. And it's really important that you have corners in a passing league. So I think that's a much more significant need, Murph, than I think most people think.
00:29:33
Speaker 4: Totally agree.
00:29:34
Speaker 5: That's why I asked.
00:29:35
Speaker 4: All right, buddy, off you go, man. Trick or treat, crew.
00:29:39
Speaker 6: Have a great Friday and happy Halloween to the Kruger family.
00:29:42
Speaker 4: Yeah. Thanks.
00:29:42
Speaker 8: Thank you. Happy Halloween to you guys and your families. And, uh, you know, all I would say, this is the time of year. If you are, you know, you got to remember those trick or treaters sometimes are hard to see, you know, back out of your driveway to, you know, the next couple of nights, a little slower, uh, You know, drive through your neighborhood with a little bit more attention to the road. It's hard to see. A lot of shadows. We don't want to see any of those trick-or-treaters getting in.
00:30:05
Speaker 5: Barry Kruger with the safety in the community message.
00:30:07
Speaker 4: Look at that. I like it. Got to stay safe in the night.
00:30:09
Speaker 6: You got to improve your corner depth and drive safely in the community, everybody.
00:30:13
Speaker 2: There you go.
00:30:13
Speaker 8: One other thing I got to mention is, by the way, Halloween has evolved where it used to be just us kids and mom and dad. Now it's us kids and mom and dad, and mom and dad are carrying a thermos.
00:30:22
Speaker 2: Why is that?
00:30:23
Speaker 8: Oh, boy.
00:30:24
Speaker 4: It's a true story.
00:30:25
Speaker 5: It's a true story.
00:30:27
Speaker 8: Why are the parents laughing so much? Why are they so happy? Our parents had a jacket and were like, hey, hurry up and say thank you and let's go.
00:30:36
Speaker 4: Dude, you're on to something, buddy.
00:30:37
Speaker 8: It's the booze cruise.
00:30:38
Speaker 6: You're on to something, man. It is out of control. The parents are like, get out of the way, kids. There's a keg in this driveway.
00:30:44
Speaker 8: Yeah.
00:30:44
Speaker 5: I'm not even kidding.
00:30:45
Speaker 8: You know, I think I saw, last year, I think I saw kids go, you know, mom, dad, I'm going to go back home and work and get on my device. And the parents said, we're going to go a few more blocks. Another lap for us, Larry. Great call.
00:30:56
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:30:56
Speaker 6: You know, they say, honestly, like the stats are that the generation a little younger than Marcus isn't drinking anymore.
00:31:02
Speaker 4: Have you read this?
00:31:02
Speaker 5: Like this new generation, they're not drinking. Embarrassing.
00:31:05
Speaker 8: They're not drinking. They're not asking anybody out anymore. No, they're not. In our days, we were sneaking our parents' booze, but then we were getting on the horn and saying... Excuse me, Mr. Blankety Blank, and I talked to Joycey. We had to have verbal game back in the day.
00:31:19
Speaker 4: Exactly.
00:31:19
Speaker 6: But my point is, like, the kids who are not drinking are being made up for by the trick-or-treating parents.
00:31:24
Speaker 5: They're making up for it.
00:31:25
Speaker 4: Exactly. They're drinking all the leftovers. They don't have any booze to steal because their parents are drinking all the booze. It's pretty true.
00:31:31
Speaker 2: It's pretty true.
00:31:31
Speaker 8: Why did mom come home and put on a costume?
00:31:34
Speaker 4: I don't understand.
00:31:35
Speaker 5: The whole other angle we haven't attacked is sexy Halloween.
00:31:37
Speaker 8: I know.
00:31:38
Speaker 5: I mean, and Marcus will be a.
00:31:39
Speaker 4: Part of that tomorrow night. I'll be looking sexy tonight.
00:31:41
Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Joycey, the receptionist, she's very calm, very conservative, except on Halloween when she's a naughty nurse.
00:31:50
Speaker 6: Hey, and that's not strictly gender specific because Marcus is going sexy.
00:31:53
Speaker 1: Tomorrow night, too.
00:31:54
Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. I'm stripping down, Larry.
00:31:55
Speaker 8: There he goes.
00:31:55
Speaker 2: There you go.
00:31:56
Speaker 5: All right.
00:31:57
Speaker 8: I think I got a bad connection, guys. I think I got to go. Opal, the lines are running out. Curly's calling me. I got to go.
00:32:05
Speaker 4: Be good, Larry. Take care.
00:32:06
Speaker 1: Later, Larry.
00:32:07
Speaker 8: See you, fellas.
00:32:08
Speaker 6: You're listening to KMBR AM and KMBR FM, San Francisco, the Esports Leader and Cumulus Media Station.

Speaker 4: 1-800-GAMBLER.
00:32:40
Speaker 10: There was so much talk about the start time of this game and obviously you had a tough first quarter. Did the game time have any effect on it? And did it kind of wake you guys up? What do you attribute the slow start to?
00:32:54
Speaker 2: We played at the same time as us, right? All right, so it's not an excuse. We have to be better.
00:33:00
Speaker 8: There it is.
00:33:00
Speaker 6: Ann Killian of The Chronicle asking Gabby Williams the question we'll.
00:33:04
Speaker 5: Talk about here for our next segment.
00:33:06
Speaker 6: Then we got Michael Thompson joining us at 930 to get some Yaxo Luca going.
00:33:09
Speaker 8: It is an 80s.
00:33:10
Speaker 6: Friday and a Halloween Friday. We've been trying to keep these Halloween themes as long as we can go. I did just inexplicably jam in Jeffrey Osborne's Stay With Me Tonight just because I wanted to double clap. But I'm calling this Halloween because, Marcus, and listen, kids, we're not encouraging this, but if you're going to egg a house, you got to hit them with your best shot.
00:33:34
Speaker 7: Yeah, you definitely do.
00:33:36
Speaker 6: So there's my Halloween tie-in. Plus, I just wanted to hear some early 80s Pat Benatar.
00:33:40
Speaker 4: Turn this up, by the way.
00:33:41
Speaker 5: Turn this up.
00:33:42
Speaker 4: Also, I'm guessing that somebody out there has once dressed up as Pat Benatar for Halloween. Bro, I got no problem with that. We'll make it count. I got a problem with none of that. Which, by the way, going back to our digression with Larry Krueger.
00:33:54
Speaker 5: Don't interrupt the solo.
00:33:55
Speaker 2: I'm kidding.
00:33:56
Speaker 8: I'm kidding.
00:33:56
Speaker 4: Don't want to step on the solo here. Go ahead, dude.
00:33:58
Speaker 5: Go ahead.
00:33:59
Speaker 4: When's the last time you've seen a house in your neighborhood get teepier?
00:34:03
Speaker 5: I mean, 1984.
00:34:04
Speaker 8: Wow.
00:34:05
Speaker 4: It's been that long?
00:34:06
Speaker 2: 1983.
00:34:06
Speaker 4: You're lucky I didn't grow up in your neighborhood.
00:34:08
Speaker 5: I'll tell you that.
00:34:09
Speaker 4: I mean, it sucks, though.
00:34:10
Speaker 6: It's like it's a problem. We're not encouraging it because, you know, it's a problem. Yeah, a problem here, but it's kind of how the kids.
00:34:17
Speaker 4: Did it back in the day. Yeah, no question.
00:34:19
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:34:19
Speaker 4: But again, kids. Not encouraging it.
00:34:22
Speaker 8: Oh, no.
00:34:22
Speaker 4: You did not want to see me and my crew of hooligans on Halloween night. There is no pumpkin safe. No house that wasn't teepeed in my neighborhood. Shaving cream on the car windshield? We would saran wrap cars back in my day.
00:34:34
Speaker 10: Oh, wow.
00:34:34
Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll pull out the saran wrap and just go layers and layers. Oh, just like any random weekend. We didn't even need Halloween as an excuse.
00:34:41
Speaker 3: Yeah, I got you.
00:34:41
Speaker 4: We used to just egg people for fun on the Halloween. Not even on Halloween, just on a random weekend.
00:34:47
Speaker 5: Did you clock your MPH on your egg heater?
00:34:50
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:34:51
Speaker 4: Throwing cheese. Or I guess technically throwing eggs.
00:34:54
Speaker 6: Well, also we can tie this into the Valks because tomorrow at 5 o'clock, you better hit them with your best shot, baby. It is Game 7. We talked about that this morning. Spent a couple minutes here. We opened the show talking about Game 7. And I got to shout out Ron Crutchick of The Chronicle. I love the sports idea of Game sevens in the Bay Area.
00:35:16
Speaker 4: Not many, bro. Not many.
00:35:19
Speaker 6: I'm talking about for the whole freaking cake, for the whole pie, for the whole thing.
00:35:25
Speaker 4: For the whole enchilada.
00:35:26
Speaker 6: I'm not talking about LCS. Okay, that doesn't count. And I'm not talking about LDS, although there aren't game sevens in LDS. So this is strictly for the whole enchilada. How many times has it happened in the Bay Area? It's not a lot. And so the Valks tomorrow night will be only the fourth Winner take all, game seven, you just freaking, everybody goes for it. The other three, Marcus, I'd make you guess, but we got clocks here. The one's easy because it happened in the time, you know, you've been well alive.
00:35:58
Speaker 4: It happened when I was alive in 2016.
00:36:01
Speaker 5: 2016.
00:36:01
Speaker 6: For most of the kids who were born, the other ones, by the way, would be born, you got to be born a long time ago. So for your generation, this is the only other game seven, winner take all on our turf.
00:36:12
Speaker 5: Not Kansas City, I get it. But, so, games, that didn't go too well. That didn't go too well.
00:36:18
Speaker 6: That game sucked and continues to suck 10 years later.
00:36:21
Speaker 3: Yeah, it does.
00:36:22
Speaker 5: What the hell was that?
00:36:23
Speaker 4: Let's move on.
00:36:23
Speaker 5: That was Father's Day, too, by the way.
00:36:25
Speaker 4: Let's not even talk about it. What the hell?
00:36:28
Speaker 6: Think how history is different if they win that game, which they should have, by the way. The 73-win season gets validated. LeBron has won less. Steph has won more.
00:36:41
Speaker 4: But does KD never come to the Warriors?
00:36:43
Speaker 7: No.
00:36:44
Speaker 5: Good question. Probably not.
00:36:45
Speaker 4: Probably not.
00:36:47
Speaker 5: Do they win more without KD?
00:36:49
Speaker 4: Good question. I mean, that's the butterfly effect.
00:36:52
Speaker 2: Anyway.
00:36:52
Speaker 4: It all goes back to Draymond Green kicking LeBron in the no-no section.
00:36:56
Speaker 6: It goes back to my guy Kiki Vandeway, my Bruin, suspending him. He didn't have to suspend him.
00:37:00
Speaker 4: Yeah, what the hell? That was ridiculous. The other two.
00:37:02
Speaker 7: Good call, dude.
00:37:03
Speaker 5: Exactly.
00:37:04
Speaker 8: You got to go way back.
00:37:05
Speaker 6: And overnight, Dave nailed this one. 1973 A's Mets World Series Game 7. How about that?
00:37:12
Speaker 7: 49,333 at the Coliseum.
00:37:13
Speaker 3: Wait for it. Day game.
00:37:18
Speaker 4: Sunday, game seven, World Series, freaking.
00:37:21
Speaker 3: Day game, baby.
00:37:22
Speaker 4: How is that not a primetime matchup?
00:37:24
Speaker 6: Because that was primetime. We needed our baseball in the day, baby. We needed our baseball in the day. This whole movement the last 20, 30 years of every game at night sucks. I miss World Series games in the day.
00:37:34
Speaker 4: Which is why you were such a big fan of the Valkyries' dream game six at 930 in the morning.
00:37:38
Speaker 6: I got to tell you, I didn't hate it. They had the stage to themselves. It reminded me of watching an NCAA tournament game when.
00:37:45
Speaker 4: Everybody was glued in.
00:37:46
Speaker 5: And you can tell your Valhalla story in just a minute or your Thrive City story.
00:37:49
Speaker 4: Yes, I can.
00:37:49
Speaker 6: The only other one, you got to go way back to the stories my dad told me. 1962, and Charlie Brown famously, Peanuts, Charles Schultz, one of the great American geniuses of all time, had a cartoon famously of Charlie Brown and Linus sitting on the sidewalk saying nothing. Second frame, Charlie Brown and Linus sitting on the sidewalk saying nothing. Third frame, Charlie stands up, mouth wide open, screams, why couldn't McCovey have hit the ball two feet higher? 1962, Giants-Yankees.
00:38:18
Speaker 4: Shut up, Charlie.
00:38:21
Speaker 6: If we had exit velo then, the lore is that McCovey absolutely pulverized this line drive right into the glove of second baseman Bobby Richardson with runners at second and third in a 1-0 game seven.
00:38:35
Speaker 2: Oh, bro.
00:38:36
Speaker 6: So that, 73 A's and 16 Warriors, and then tomorrow, the Valks.
00:38:41
Speaker 1: Yes.
00:38:42
Speaker 4: And the first ever game seven in WNBA finals history. Now it's only the second year now that they've expanded the WNBA finals to game seven, but let's make a little bit of history. Valkyries have a chance to win it at home on their home court at Boo Holla on Halloween night in front of a ferocious Valkyries crowd. that were all out there yesterday. Like, it felt like the entirety of Valhalla was in Thrive City yesterday at 9.30 in the morning. Like, Murph, it was truly a great sight to see. I mean, obviously, we did the show. We talked about the tip-off starting around 9.30, 9.40. I was able to drive home, get out to Thrive City around the midway point of the third quarter. And, bro, you would have thought it was like the uh the the finals of the world cup like like it was packed wall to wall there were valkyrie friends all over thrive city and i showed up at 11 a.m in the morning they were there early there were people like reserving seats before the 9 30 tip off even started Yeah, I was going to ask you what time this was. You're saying it's before noon. Yeah, this is before noon. So shout out to all the Valkyrie fans that skipped work, who called in sick with a fake cough. I mean, I even saw people out there with laptops working from home, a.k.a. working from Thrive City. It was an awesome scene. And the coolest thing to me was the early time gave permission to parents to take their kids out of school to bring them out to Thrive City.
00:40:04
Speaker 5: That's incredible.
00:40:05
Speaker 4: Like, there were a lot of young kids. I mean... Living in San Francisco, you don't see too many kids in general, but it was cool to see actual families out there for the watch party at Thrive City. And even at the final buzzer, there was still a high morale within this fan base talking about Game 7 on Saturday.
00:40:20
Speaker 5: You posted something on your IG story.
00:40:21
Speaker 6: The Valks scored a basket, and the place was like, and I was like, yo, they're down like 17.
00:40:26
Speaker 4: They were still cheering. Well, Murph, that's because I let them all know that I needed the Valks to cover that 13 and a half.
00:40:34
Speaker 5: I told you I liked it at the time. It was savvy, and you got it.
00:40:37
Speaker 4: And they covered. Lost by 11. Despite your original bet being the Valks plus four and a half.
00:40:41
Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
00:40:41
Speaker 4: That's why you live bet. Yeah, that's what Bobby Boucher is doing a lot on Sundays these days. Hey, man, you got to stick it. Picking up a live bet. You got to be fluid.
00:40:47
Speaker 2: Exactly.
00:40:48
Speaker 1: You got to be fluid.
00:40:49
Speaker 4: Just because your first bet doesn't win, doesn't mean you can't win the second and the third.
00:40:53
Speaker 6: Yeah, Peter Hartlaub's guide to the Valks in the Chronicles says, Balhalla is different from Thrive City. He distinguishes that only inside the arena is Balhalla.
00:41:01
Speaker 4: Yeah, but like I said, Balhalla is a mindset. It's a lifestyle.
00:41:04
Speaker 1: There you go.
00:41:05
Speaker 9: Uh-huh.
00:41:05
Speaker 4: You're always in ball hollow if your mind's there. So I got to say, there's no way the Valks will lose this game.
00:41:10
Speaker 6: And I mean, Draymond Green said it, and we didn't play the sound, we had it, but he's like, I guarantee the Valks that winning the fourth game of a series is the hardest win they'll ever have in their lives. He said this before game six. And I was like, oh, that's interesting, you know, from a guy who's won them and lost them, right?
00:41:27
Speaker 4: And he was right.
00:41:28
Speaker 6: The Hawks were, it was like killing an animal or whatever, you know, like the dying animal is going to fight you till the very end.
00:41:36
Speaker 5: And that was the Hawks yesterday.
00:41:37
Speaker 4: The dreamer desperate and shout out the dream part of their fan base that showed up in a sold out arena at a 1230 tip time.
00:41:44
Speaker 5: They did sell the joint out.
00:41:45
Speaker 4: They sold out the arena at 1230. So shout out to those fans, shout out to the Valkyrie fans who traveled out to Atlanta for the chance to witness history. But Murph, it also had to play a factor. I mean, we just got done talking about the 49ers with the 10 a and body clock in Atlanta. With the 9.30 start yesterday, I know Gabby Williams denied it multiple times. She was asked multiple times at the postgame presser if that had an effect, and she said, look, we played at the same time, but it did not look like these two teams were on the same track when the game started. And the dream came out, and they shot the lights out in the first quarter. They were outscored 32-15 in the first quarter. In Game 5, the Valkyries held the Dream to 25 points in the first half. The Dream had that yesterday in the first quarter. So it definitely felt like that 9.30 start Pacific time, 12.30 noon, definitely had an effect on the Valkyries' body clock.
00:42:32
Speaker 6: I don't see the Dream shooting like that again.
00:42:35
Speaker 4: I just don't.
00:42:36
Speaker 5: Especially not in Valhalla. I got the Valks, man. I got the Valks. What's the spread?
00:42:41
Speaker 4: V's up. Good question. I'm guessing the Valks should be the favorite because the game is at home, but the Dream do have a bit of momentum. If I'm guessing... Let me handicap it. I'd say Valks minus one and a half.
00:42:51
Speaker 7: Dude.
00:42:52
Speaker 4: What are you, some sort of Dijon?
00:42:53
Speaker 1: Yes, I am.
00:42:54
Speaker 5: Valks minus one and a half.
00:42:55
Speaker 4: Bang.
00:42:56
Speaker 5: There you go.
00:42:56
Speaker 4: That's the number.
00:42:57
Speaker 6: By the way, somebody texted in 415, said, late riser today. Sorry if I missed the recap, but hat tip to Marcus for the live 13.5 Valks bet.
00:43:05
Speaker 5: Hey, it was a good bet. There you go, buddy.
00:43:08
Speaker 4: Valks covered.
00:43:10
Speaker 1: All right.
00:43:10
Speaker 6: Well, listen, that's a little bit of word on the Valks situation, and I am fully expecting them.
00:43:17
Speaker 5: To come through. By the way, we said it's Boo-Holla, you said?
00:43:21
Speaker 8: Boo-Holla.
00:43:22
Speaker 6: A listener says to us, if they win today, 209 says, if they win, it will forever be known as the Val Halloween.
00:43:29
Speaker 4: Val Halloween game. That's a new one I haven't heard yet. Boo Holla, Val Halloween, Valcatraz. Yeah, Valcatraz is a grade A nickname. Val Holla's just not enough anymore. The team is so good, they're just stacking up nicknames. All right, well, Michael Thompson's going to.
00:43:44
Speaker 6: Join us at 9.30, and let's get going by reminding ourselves about this Luca Yaxel round two tomorrow night, which I should say tonight at 7 o'clock at Oracle.
00:43:56
Speaker 5: Jesus Christ. Have a segment, buddy.
00:43:59
Speaker 6: Seven o'clock tonight at Chase Center, not Balhalla. Chase Center, Luka versus Yaxel tonight.
00:44:06
Speaker 4: Yeah, tonight at Steph Halla.
00:44:08
Speaker 5: Lakers, two and a half point favorites in this game.
00:44:09
Speaker 4: I just thought of that. I like that. Steph Halla.
00:44:11
Speaker 5: Steph Halla doesn't really roll off the tongue.
00:44:14
Speaker 4: Yeah, it works for me.
00:44:15
Speaker 2: Okay.
00:44:15
Speaker 4: It's rolling off of my tongue. Okay. Steph Halla. Okay.
00:44:18
Speaker 5: That's Marcus's.
00:44:19
Speaker 4: Don't look at me like that, Walter.
00:44:21
Speaker 5: On the sports leader.
