20 Digital Death

WEBVTT
00:00:39.280 --> 00:00:41.520
Fingers danced across the key display.
00:00:41.679 --> 00:00:47.359
Sweat beat it on his body, and he felt it trickle down the sides of his ribcage from his armpits.
00:00:48.000 --> 00:00:52.560
The sweat increased in proportion to the speed of his fingers tapping on the keys.
00:00:52.799 --> 00:00:53.439
Where?
00:00:53.759 --> 00:00:55.920
Where next, White Monkey?
00:00:56.079 --> 00:00:59.920
Julong thought of where his nemesis would try to go next.
00:01:00.159 --> 00:01:03.920
His brow knit as he watched ten more zombites disappear.
00:01:04.239 --> 00:01:05.840
This isn't working.
00:01:06.000 --> 00:01:09.040
His army of pathobites was rapidly diminishing.
00:01:09.280 --> 00:01:14.239
He raised both hands from his bar and slammed them down on the controls, swearing.
00:01:14.480 --> 00:01:18.560
The monitoring techs in the room glanced warrily in his direction.
00:01:18.719 --> 00:01:23.680
More vile epithets flowed from his lips as he watched more pathobites be destroyed.
00:01:23.920 --> 00:01:29.519
Chulong, is there something that I One of the female techs placed a hand on his shoulder.
00:01:29.680 --> 00:01:32.640
He shoved the hand away and stood glaring at the woman.
00:01:32.879 --> 00:01:35.359
Get me a transducer, he hissed.
00:01:35.599 --> 00:01:39.280
She turned away and went to one of the walls lined with storage lockers.
00:01:39.519 --> 00:01:44.879
Chulong clenched his fists at his side as he watched his digital plague army diminish.
00:01:45.040 --> 00:01:47.599
She returned and handed the device to him.
00:01:47.840 --> 00:01:51.760
He snatched it from her hand and whirled on the monitors, standing near.
00:01:52.000 --> 00:01:53.920
Get back, he shouted.
00:01:54.239 --> 00:02:00.799
They stared at him for a moment and then one by one left their stations and filed down the stairs to the floor below.
00:02:01.200 --> 00:02:04.879
The face of Chin Yao materialized near his control console.
00:02:05.120 --> 00:02:06.959
Do you have control, Chu Long?
00:02:07.120 --> 00:02:10.479
He turned to the face and tried to hide his frustration with a smile.
00:02:10.719 --> 00:02:13.199
It won't be long, Emperor Chin Yao.
00:02:13.599 --> 00:02:16.960
I have most of the systems under my control now.
00:02:17.199 --> 00:02:19.360
The Emperor's doubt showed on his face.
00:02:19.599 --> 00:02:23.520
If you fail me, you'll wish you'd never been born.
00:02:23.759 --> 00:02:27.199
His face vanished, and Chu Long stared at the spot where it had been.
00:02:27.439 --> 00:02:29.199
Screw you, Chin.
00:02:29.439 --> 00:02:32.560
He whispered and clamped the transducer to his head.
00:02:32.879 --> 00:02:36.879
Pulled the chair tighter around him and scooted it closer to the display.
00:02:37.120 --> 00:02:39.840
White monkey, time to die.
00:02:40.240 --> 00:02:44.400
The virtual model of Chin Yao starship materialized in the air behind him.
00:02:44.639 --> 00:02:47.680
A tiny red light pulsed near the ship's stern.
00:02:47.919 --> 00:02:51.919
He gazed at it and then turned back to the screen in front of him.
00:02:52.319 --> 00:02:57.520
On the floor below, many of the tech stood white-eyed, watching him watch and learn.
00:04:06.719 --> 00:04:08.159
He paused suck air.
00:04:11.280 --> 00:04:12.319
Thirty-six miles.
00:04:16.959 --> 00:04:18.319
You got that figured out.
00:04:25.439 --> 00:04:26.079
I think.
00:04:28.000 --> 00:04:31.759
He looked down and saw a key with AMC written on it.
00:04:32.000 --> 00:04:33.199
How'd I miss you before?
00:04:33.439 --> 00:04:33.920
He pushed it.
00:04:34.720 --> 00:04:37.279
The key turned from blue to red and began flashing.
00:04:41.920 --> 00:04:45.199
A whole screen rose up in front of him showing the perimeter of the ship.
00:04:45.920 --> 00:04:49.279
Red flashing icons indicated each anti-missile cannon.
00:04:50.079 --> 00:04:50.639
He counted.
00:04:51.040 --> 00:04:52.879
There were twenty arranged around the ship.
00:04:53.439 --> 00:04:56.240
When they stopped flashing, the ship's IA spoke.
00:05:02.399 --> 00:05:05.839
He looked over at Ying Tai with a plaintive expression.
00:05:08.639 --> 00:05:09.600
It was a fire.
00:05:10.639 --> 00:05:11.600
He inhaled.
00:06:12.079 --> 00:06:18.399
He knew his physical bringing back aboard the starship was being punished and taxed by the digital onslaught.
00:06:26.319 --> 00:06:29.519
Two zombites wrapped themselves around his feet.
00:06:35.360 --> 00:06:37.680
One tried to pull at his arms.
00:06:43.680 --> 00:06:51.839
He continued to maneuver the staff, striking the heads of the grotesque shapes and watching them become neutralized, screaming in digital pain.
00:06:59.439 --> 00:07:01.839
A claw reached for his head.
00:07:28.000 --> 00:07:34.399
Frantic, he kept beating his head out of reach from the clawing hands until only one zombite remained.
00:07:37.600 --> 00:07:40.480
A sharp blow to his head, and the battle was over.
00:07:41.920 --> 00:07:46.639
Luke released the digital equivalent of a heavy sigh and considered his next destination.
00:07:46.879 --> 00:07:48.319
Gravity control next.
00:07:48.480 --> 00:07:55.040
The map materialized above his arm and he located the GCI, thought about the destination, and deployed.
00:07:56.000 --> 00:08:00.079
He felt himself simultaneously stretched and compressed.
00:08:06.560 --> 00:08:17.439
When the painful sucking sensation ceased, he faced a horde of red lizard-like replibites swarming around the GCI.
00:08:21.279 --> 00:08:25.759
He raised a stab as they hissed in digital codes and rushed at him.
00:08:48.000 --> 00:08:54.480
Zulong stared down at the body of his yellow avatar that a part of his mind now inhabited and controlled.
00:08:55.200 --> 00:09:00.320
It shimmered bright against the ghostly green image of the starship's virtual structure.
00:09:00.960 --> 00:09:08.159
He thought of a killing thrash code in his mind, and a grayish-black baton extended out from each hand.
00:09:08.399 --> 00:09:11.759
He looked at the gray sword-like batons in each hand.
00:09:12.080 --> 00:09:17.679
Pulsing, purple-black, tendril-like veins ran down the length of each to the pointed tip.
00:09:18.159 --> 00:09:23.679
One blow to the head, white monkey becomes vacant.
00:09:28.399 --> 00:09:33.200
He smiled and cracked a swinging of the batons as he walked down the corridor.
00:09:42.720 --> 00:09:44.320
Where are you?
00:09:44.720 --> 00:09:48.320
He wondered as the map of the ship appeared above his left arm.
00:09:48.879 --> 00:09:52.480
His enemy's tiny red dot pulsed near the GCI.
00:09:53.279 --> 00:10:01.039
Visualizing the destination, he experienced the mental stretching as his avatar transported itself to confront his enemy.
00:10:22.480 --> 00:10:24.879
He stretched his neck, avoiding contact.
00:10:25.039 --> 00:10:28.320
The replibite's other claw reached for the side of his head.
00:10:28.559 --> 00:10:36.639
Eight more of the red pathobites wrapped themselves around his torso and grabbed for his hands, trying to prevent the staff from striking.
00:10:37.039 --> 00:10:39.840
The replibites were hampering his motion.
00:10:40.159 --> 00:10:43.600
Claws reached for his head and he weaved and buffed.
00:10:44.639 --> 00:10:48.159
His arms were restrained and he couldn't swing the staff.
00:10:48.399 --> 00:10:54.799
Desperately, he glanced to an unoccupied side of the chamber and immediately fought himself at that location.
00:10:55.919 --> 00:11:02.559
The Lazardian pathobites collapsed in a writhing heap in the space's avatar no longer inhabited.
00:11:03.519 --> 00:11:11.120
He swung the staff and struck one of the less attentive replibites nearby and glanced at the remaining eight, still struggling to rise.
00:11:11.440 --> 00:11:15.279
He felt weakened from the last deployment and shook its head.
00:11:23.600 --> 00:11:28.000
A change in the digital fabric of the space alerted Boo to a new threat.
00:11:28.240 --> 00:11:33.759
A yellow humanoid avatar appeared near the space's door as he charged at the eight-angled form.
00:11:40.720 --> 00:11:45.120
He struck out at the wrestling mass and quickly tapped each one on the head.
00:12:03.120 --> 00:12:05.279
I hope he will kill you.
00:12:05.519 --> 00:12:09.600
The familiar voice of Chu Long's digital announcement came from behind him.
00:12:13.120 --> 00:12:16.159
Well, I guess he watched Monkey.
00:12:16.639 --> 00:12:17.759
You wish he had.
00:13:09.519 --> 00:13:13.519
Shunting that much could result in permanent mental wounds.
00:13:13.759 --> 00:13:17.759
But for the skilled wielder, venom sticks were a deadly weapon.
00:13:21.519 --> 00:13:26.320
Julong smiled and swung the batons in front of his avatar like propellers.
00:13:27.519 --> 00:13:32.960
He stopped their motion, inverted his hands, and thrust them into the floor of the space.
00:13:37.519 --> 00:13:44.639
Where the batons penetrated the translucent green deck, purple black tendrils crept from the baton and blackened the floor.
00:13:48.720 --> 00:13:50.559
You are so bad.
00:13:51.120 --> 00:13:57.919
You before gathered his courage.
00:14:00.240 --> 00:14:02.000
He raised his staff in front of him.
00:14:02.639 --> 00:14:04.799
Chulong snarled and rushed at him.
00:14:07.279 --> 00:14:10.159
In the end, one of us will be taken.
00:14:16.879 --> 00:14:19.200
He blocked a blow from one of the batons.
00:14:19.600 --> 00:14:26.639
The brilliant blue tendrils from his staff crackled with energy as the venom stick's purple black tendrils turned molten red.
00:14:32.000 --> 00:14:36.159
He parried the blow, then thrust the staff into Ju Long's stomach.
00:14:38.879 --> 00:14:40.240
He fell back on the floor.
00:14:40.480 --> 00:14:41.440
Just go back.
00:14:41.759 --> 00:14:42.960
I don't want to hurt you.
00:14:43.200 --> 00:14:45.600
Fug cried in a desperate voice.
00:14:45.840 --> 00:14:50.960
A snarl and Ju Long transformed his avatar's face to a fanged serpent.
00:14:51.120 --> 00:14:54.320
He jumped to his feet and raced at him, shouting as he came.
00:15:01.360 --> 00:15:06.000
Zhu Long sidestepped the move and brought a stick swinging toward his side.
00:15:10.960 --> 00:15:14.960
Boob jumped away, but not before it bit into his avatar's rib cage.
00:15:15.360 --> 00:15:21.440
A shock of digital pain lanced from the blow, and the avatar's flesh blackened around the wound.
00:15:21.759 --> 00:15:23.759
Boob felt his avatar slow.
00:15:34.799 --> 00:15:38.720
Boob staggered back to avoid another thrust from the sticks.
00:15:49.600 --> 00:15:50.399
He's right.
00:15:50.559 --> 00:15:52.399
I don't know much about a sword play.
00:15:52.559 --> 00:16:05.840
Boob thought as he backed away from the Long laughed and playfully swung the sticks at him.
00:16:06.799 --> 00:16:11.840
He parried with the staff and crackling energy popped each time the batons hit it.
00:16:14.480 --> 00:16:18.879
The black wound seemed to pull and limit his strength on that side.
00:16:23.360 --> 00:16:28.480
As Boog repelled another playful swing from one of the sticks, Chulong vanished.
00:16:28.720 --> 00:16:32.720
He reappeared, popping up beneath Boog's staff, striking low.
00:16:34.480 --> 00:16:36.799
A stick struck Book's left leg.
00:16:37.039 --> 00:16:41.519
Black digital pain raced up his avatar and stumbled backwards.
00:16:41.759 --> 00:16:45.120
Black tendrils encircled his leg, crept out from the wound.
00:16:45.360 --> 00:16:46.720
Chulong backed away.
00:16:46.879 --> 00:16:50.240
His face returned to its normal appearance and sneered at him.
00:16:54.720 --> 00:16:57.519
I think I prefer to stay to long.
00:16:58.159 --> 00:16:59.679
This face frightens me.
00:16:59.919 --> 00:17:02.320
Boop felt the wall of the space against his back.
00:17:02.639 --> 00:17:29.359
Nowhere to go to the city.
00:17:36.319 --> 00:17:39.119
Ying Tai shouted and looked around the command deck.
00:17:39.279 --> 00:17:42.559
It was getting easier to breathe, and the dizziness had decreased.
00:17:42.799 --> 00:17:44.480
That's affirmative, Tactical said.
00:17:44.799 --> 00:17:47.359
Engine number three was just hit the sound.
00:17:47.519 --> 00:17:48.960
It's returning to normal damage?
00:17:49.279 --> 00:17:50.640
Ying Tai asked.
00:17:50.880 --> 00:17:52.640
The man shrugged his shoulders.
00:17:52.960 --> 00:17:54.319
I can't tell.
00:17:56.640 --> 00:17:57.759
He sounded frustrated.
00:17:58.079 --> 00:17:58.960
Just keep trying.
00:17:59.119 --> 00:18:01.039
She glanced at Boog's slumped form.
00:18:01.279 --> 00:18:02.240
Come on, Boog.
00:18:02.640 --> 00:18:03.599
Where are you?
00:18:03.759 --> 00:18:05.359
I I think I got this figured out.
00:18:06.720 --> 00:18:09.440
I can increase the firing rate of the AMCs.
00:18:09.759 --> 00:18:12.079
That should help protect against any more missiles.
00:18:12.240 --> 00:18:12.480
Do it.
00:18:12.720 --> 00:18:15.599
Ying Tai pointed at him and then turned back to her screen.
00:18:15.839 --> 00:18:17.359
Tima, how are things looking?
00:18:17.519 --> 00:18:19.680
Air levels are back up to 58%.
00:18:20.960 --> 00:18:23.839
Uh gravity is coming back up.
00:18:24.559 --> 00:18:26.160
But temperature is still dropping.
00:18:26.319 --> 00:18:28.079
It's now 42 degrees on board.
00:18:28.240 --> 00:18:33.359
Ying Tai had noticed it was colder, but it didn't really register as she was so caught up in the battle to escape.
00:18:33.680 --> 00:18:34.720
Keep monitoring.
00:18:34.880 --> 00:18:36.960
Let me know if anything else happens.
00:18:37.279 --> 00:18:38.000
Tactical.
00:18:38.160 --> 00:18:39.359
Anything on the damage report?
00:18:39.599 --> 00:18:41.599
The man shrugged and looked back at her.
00:18:41.920 --> 00:18:42.720
No, ma'am.
00:18:42.960 --> 00:18:45.359
Can't figure out how to bring it up.
00:18:45.599 --> 00:18:47.359
But I'm still monitoring the fighters.
00:18:47.519 --> 00:18:47.920
Carry on.
00:18:48.160 --> 00:18:49.200
She turned back to Boog.
00:18:49.599 --> 00:18:50.799
His body hadn't moved.
00:18:52.559 --> 00:18:53.839
She whispered.
00:19:15.119 --> 00:19:18.000
Poop watched Yulong approach with the venom sticks.
00:19:18.160 --> 00:19:20.960
He raised a staff before him in a weak defense.
00:19:21.200 --> 00:19:23.359
Thoughts of the past raced through his head.
00:19:23.680 --> 00:19:27.440
This man who'd insisted on becoming my enemy.
00:19:27.680 --> 00:19:28.720
His anger grew.
00:19:28.960 --> 00:19:32.160
The one that ratted me out to Qin Yao.
00:19:33.359 --> 00:19:36.480
Probably caused me to be tortured or killed.
00:19:36.640 --> 00:19:39.519
This last thought struck to the center of Boog's heart.
00:19:39.920 --> 00:19:40.400
Mean.
00:19:41.359 --> 00:19:42.640
What happened to her?
00:19:42.880 --> 00:19:47.680
He looked up at the sneering face of Julong, and a sudden rage took hold of him.
00:19:47.920 --> 00:19:51.039
May sap all my remaining mental strength.
00:19:51.200 --> 00:19:59.519
He visualized the space immediately behind Zulong, and the agonizing vacuum sucked at his digital mental strength.
00:20:01.200 --> 00:20:06.240
Julong still hadn't turned around when Bug's avatar materialized behind him.
00:20:06.480 --> 00:20:07.759
Boog staggered.
00:20:07.920 --> 00:20:10.960
His leg wound flared and he drew back the staff.
00:20:11.119 --> 00:20:13.839
His head swam and he felt his strength dropping.
00:20:14.079 --> 00:20:17.279
Julong whirled around, bringing the stick swinging.
00:20:19.279 --> 00:20:23.839
One of the batons struck his chest, but the strength behind his thrust wasn't affected.
00:20:24.079 --> 00:20:26.079
Boog thrust his staff at Julong.
00:20:29.519 --> 00:20:34.880
The staff struck Zulong on the left side of his head, and blue energy crackled.
00:20:35.119 --> 00:20:38.400
One of the black venom sticks withered and then disappeared.
00:20:38.640 --> 00:20:40.799
Chulong howled in digital rage.
00:20:45.519 --> 00:20:48.319
He staggered back and dropped to his knees.
00:20:49.599 --> 00:20:54.720
Boog's injured leg gave out and he fell to the floor, watching Zhu Long writhe on the deck.
00:20:54.960 --> 00:20:56.319
I'm sorry, Chulong.
00:20:56.640 --> 00:20:59.200
He let out a heavy digital breath.
00:21:00.400 --> 00:21:09.119
You left me no choice, he said, as his foe's avatar stiffened and vibrated, then vanished.
00:21:09.839 --> 00:21:14.400
He mentally breathed out relief and struggled to raise the avatar to its feet.
00:21:14.640 --> 00:21:17.759
Still, still have a task to do.
00:21:18.319 --> 00:21:23.200
One last place to check, he thought, visualizing the heating and cooling system.
00:21:24.880 --> 00:21:26.160
Last time.
00:21:28.480 --> 00:21:33.839
When he appeared in the room, he slumped to the floor and struggled to raise the staff with one hand.
00:21:34.079 --> 00:21:37.440
The zombite's pale bodies had fallen to the floor.
00:21:37.680 --> 00:21:46.319
A few still staggered about, but with their master's digital defeat and certain severe brain damage, they were weak and ineffective.
00:21:47.039 --> 00:21:50.640
Boob, with the aid of his staff, forced his avatar to stand.
00:22:11.839 --> 00:22:16.079
When the lad's zombite turned blue, he stood and looked around.
00:22:16.319 --> 00:22:18.319
Now to get back.
00:22:18.559 --> 00:22:22.880
He thought the proper codes and his avatar slowly dissolved.
00:22:53.119 --> 00:22:56.559
He continued to howl from the digital mental pain.
00:23:06.400 --> 00:23:09.039
A shred of his sane mind screamed.
00:23:09.359 --> 00:23:22.240
The tiny part of his mind still functioning visualized a part of the virtual ship, and he felt the vacuum suck his mind, stretching and compressing, further sapping his waning mental and digital strength.
00:23:23.279 --> 00:23:32.559
When he appeared in the ship's virtual stardrive control system, his last thread of sane conscious thought conjured up another devilish code.
00:23:33.119 --> 00:23:37.759
His vision flickered as he watched a parasite form in his failing hand.
00:23:38.240 --> 00:23:46.559
He willed it to take the shape of a scorpion, released it into the drive system just as his avatar began to dissolve.
00:24:10.559 --> 00:24:17.039
The last sane thought that crossed his mind was truly.
00:25:03.680 --> 00:25:07.359
He stared back at his key display and then up at the holo screen.
00:25:07.599 --> 00:25:11.920
His hand reached clumsily to his head and removed the transducer.
00:25:12.079 --> 00:25:13.759
It fell to the deck.
00:25:14.000 --> 00:25:18.079
He tapped at a key and the model of the ship vanished from above.
00:25:18.240 --> 00:25:19.440
He shook his head.
00:25:23.279 --> 00:25:25.839
odd at times, let me know.
00:25:26.079 --> 00:25:27.759
He turned and smiled up at her.
00:25:28.079 --> 00:25:32.240
Are systems returning to normal?
00:25:32.480 --> 00:25:34.000
Ying Tai rubbed her arms.
00:25:34.240 --> 00:25:39.200
Still cold, but the gravity is back and air supply is returning to normal.
00:25:39.359 --> 00:25:40.799
She tilted her head to the side.
00:25:41.039 --> 00:25:42.960
What happened?
00:25:43.759 --> 00:25:44.240
In there.
00:25:44.480 --> 00:25:45.440
Boog shook his head.
00:25:45.759 --> 00:25:46.960
Tell you later.
00:25:47.279 --> 00:25:49.519
I'm I'm just glad to be back.
00:25:49.759 --> 00:25:52.319
Good! Maybe you can do something about our friend.
00:25:53.759 --> 00:25:54.960
Boo turned to him.
00:25:55.200 --> 00:25:55.759
What's up?
00:25:55.920 --> 00:25:59.039
We've still got seven fighters shooting us with missiles.
00:25:59.200 --> 00:26:05.680
The AMCs, which I barely managed to figure out, are trying to keep them at bay.
00:26:05.920 --> 00:26:09.200
So far the fighters have managed to evade the cannons.
00:26:09.680 --> 00:26:11.519
Do we have anything else?
00:26:11.759 --> 00:26:15.440
Anti-missile cannons aren't very effective against fighters.
00:26:15.680 --> 00:26:17.680
I'll activate the ASGs.
00:26:18.000 --> 00:26:19.119
They'll handle the fighters.
00:26:19.440 --> 00:26:20.880
Dex raised an eyebrow.
00:26:21.119 --> 00:26:21.839
ASGs?
00:26:22.160 --> 00:26:23.920
Anti-spacecraft guns.
00:26:24.240 --> 00:26:25.279
Oh, right.
00:26:25.759 --> 00:26:27.119
Why didn't I think of it?
00:26:27.279 --> 00:26:30.720
Boog struggled upright and staggered over to the weapons display.
00:26:30.880 --> 00:26:35.759
He tapped on the pad and then came and plopped back in his seat, releasing a heavy breath.
00:26:36.240 --> 00:26:38.960
Dex stared at Boog and folded his arms.
00:26:39.200 --> 00:26:41.680
I was gonna try that key next.
00:26:45.839 --> 00:26:50.640
The ship shuddered and vibrated as the ASGs blasted at the fighters.
00:26:50.880 --> 00:26:52.720
Dex peered at his display.
00:26:52.960 --> 00:26:54.960
Our previous weak posture?
00:26:55.119 --> 00:26:59.039
Ha! Must have attracted the pilots into coming in close.
00:26:59.200 --> 00:27:00.000
Ha ha ha!
00:27:00.400 --> 00:27:03.359
VASGs are ripping them apart.
00:27:03.519 --> 00:27:03.839
Good.
00:27:04.000 --> 00:27:06.960
Why don't you go check on our friends in the infirmary?
00:27:07.200 --> 00:27:08.720
I'm worried about Otis.
00:27:08.880 --> 00:27:10.079
Dex smiled at her.
00:27:10.319 --> 00:27:10.799
Yeah.
00:27:11.039 --> 00:27:13.599
The big lug kinda grows on you.
00:27:13.759 --> 00:27:14.319
Doesn't he?
00:27:14.480 --> 00:27:16.880
Three fighters have been destroyed by the ESGs.
00:27:17.119 --> 00:27:18.160
Tactical reported.
00:27:18.400 --> 00:27:21.119
Three others have been severely damaged.
00:27:21.440 --> 00:27:25.519
And it looks like the other is leaving.
00:27:25.680 --> 00:27:27.279
Wonderful! Tima said.
00:27:27.519 --> 00:27:29.440
Can I go to the infirmary now?
00:27:29.599 --> 00:27:32.640
She asked as she rubbed her poorly bandaged forehead.
00:27:32.960 --> 00:27:35.279
My head is killing me.
00:27:35.519 --> 00:27:38.480
Ying Tai nodded and Tima exited the command deck.
00:27:38.640 --> 00:27:39.440
Where's Gecko?
00:27:39.599 --> 00:27:40.640
She asked Dex.
00:27:40.960 --> 00:27:47.359
Oh I suppose he's somewhere between paradise and Hell's his leg.
00:27:47.599 --> 00:27:48.880
He should get it checked out.
00:27:49.119 --> 00:27:52.400
Dex glanced down at Ying Tai's hastily bandaged thigh.
00:27:52.720 --> 00:27:56.000
As should you He raised a hand and walked toward the exit.
00:27:56.240 --> 00:27:57.599
I'll let him know.
00:27:57.920 --> 00:28:01.920
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a massage to finish.
00:28:02.240 --> 00:28:06.880
Ying Tai glanced down at the dried blood on her leg and the tourniquet above it.
00:28:07.039 --> 00:28:11.920
She loosened the binding a bit and felt heat and pain spread down her thigh.
00:28:12.079 --> 00:28:14.079
But the wound remained dry.
00:28:14.319 --> 00:28:16.799
In the heat of the battle, she'd ignored the pain.
00:28:17.119 --> 00:28:18.960
I can wait a little longer.
00:28:19.200 --> 00:28:20.400
She turned back to Boog.
00:28:20.720 --> 00:28:21.519
You okay?
00:28:21.680 --> 00:28:24.319
He nodded absently and tapped at the key display.
00:28:24.559 --> 00:28:27.519
I have some cleanup to do in the systems.
00:28:28.400 --> 00:28:34.960
I'll play some anti-pathobite programs so Chin Yao won't be able to thrash into our system again.
00:28:35.119 --> 00:28:35.839
Where are we going?
00:28:36.000 --> 00:28:37.839
Ying Tai felt the deck vibrate.
00:28:38.000 --> 00:28:39.039
What was that?
00:28:39.279 --> 00:28:44.400
I'm just re-engaging the engines to get as far from here as possible.
00:28:45.359 --> 00:28:48.799
I think we'll just cruise and In the meantime.
00:28:49.759 --> 00:28:50.880
Think about our next move.
00:28:51.119 --> 00:28:51.920
He looked up at her.
00:28:52.160 --> 00:28:54.720
We need Moriston to reveal the destination.
00:28:55.039 --> 00:28:58.240
Ying Tai glanced down at the display she'd been scanning earlier.
00:28:58.400 --> 00:28:58.720
I know.
00:28:58.880 --> 00:29:00.960
The ship's speed rose rapidly.
00:29:03.039 --> 00:29:06.799
I better get down to the infirmary to make sure someone doesn't kill him.
00:29:07.039 --> 00:29:08.160
She headed for the exit.
00:29:08.400 --> 00:29:08.799
Right.
00:29:09.039 --> 00:29:10.720
I'll keep watch here.
00:29:17.279 --> 00:29:21.279
The door closed and Boog leaned back in his seat and sighed.
00:29:21.440 --> 00:29:24.240
He blinked several times and shook his head.
00:29:24.559 --> 00:29:31.359
His thoughts seemed so muddled and he had to mentally stretch to obtain each one before expressing himself.
00:29:32.720 --> 00:29:34.480
This goes away.
00:30:18.000 --> 00:30:19.119
Except one.
00:30:19.680 --> 00:30:25.119
She glanced up to see how her news was received and wished she hadn't.
00:30:25.680 --> 00:30:31.519
Chen Yao's face turned instantly red, and his hands clenched into fists at his side.
00:30:32.400 --> 00:30:38.720
Slap split the silence of the command center, and her cheek blazed with intense pain.
00:30:39.440 --> 00:30:42.640
The blow was so sudden she had no time to react.
00:30:43.039 --> 00:30:44.480
She fought back tears.
00:30:44.799 --> 00:30:47.759
Get Chu Long, he hissed.
00:30:50.240 --> 00:30:54.720
Seconds later, an unfamiliar person's hologram appeared in the command center.
00:30:54.960 --> 00:30:55.839
Emperor.
00:30:56.240 --> 00:30:59.519
I'm afraid Julong cannot communicate with you.
00:30:59.680 --> 00:31:01.599
Chin Yao kept his voice controlled.
00:31:01.839 --> 00:31:03.279
Where is he?
00:31:03.519 --> 00:31:05.599
Basically, he is here.
00:31:06.640 --> 00:31:09.920
Uh mentally, he's gone.
00:31:10.160 --> 00:31:11.119
The person shrugged.
00:31:11.359 --> 00:31:12.799
He's vacant.
00:31:14.079 --> 00:31:17.200
Chin Yao cursed and his whole frame trembled.
00:31:17.440 --> 00:31:21.759
The ring station techs, including their commander, stepped back away from him.
00:31:23.359 --> 00:31:29.039
A howl of unfathomable rage and hate burst from Chin Yao.
00:31:31.759 --> 00:31:36.240
And each person in the room knew they were going to die today.
00:32:00.000 --> 00:32:09.119
If you crave rebellion, high stakes heists, and lunar warfare, this science fiction audio drama will leave you breathless.
00:32:09.440 --> 00:32:13.440
Read the entire Exodus 5 book series.
00:32:13.920 --> 00:32:17.759
Available wherever digital and physical books are sold.
