Speaker 1: Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ Mackinbone with you broadcasting live. We got another hour to go, baby. Hang on here with us. We're broadcasting live from Harrah's Cherokee Casino and Resort. This place is amazing. It's huge. There's so much stuff for the whole family, too. Like, it's a great dude's weekend spot. But, man, you bring the whole family here as well. They've got all kind of different stuff. Concerts here. They've got the bowling alley, the arcade for the kids. Man, they've got cool stuff here for everybody. It's an impressive facility, man. No doubt about it.
00:00:50
Speaker 2: In this fan cave that you can purchase for– events if you're out here there's a caesar sportsbook kiosk back what about three feet from me oh yeah oh you were getting frisky over there well do you want to know what i did there it's going to excite people to put some money on duke to win the national title in basketball how about that i like your face i like your face it was destiny it was meant to be out here that i was going to do that what could go wrong bone in a game in a game in march with a lead what could go wrong Why? My bad. Why do you ruin good vibes? My bad.
00:01:20
Speaker 1: Let's talk to Taylor Davis. Yeah, she will not ruin the vibes. She will pick the vibes up. Taylor Davis, ESPN college football reporter. She will be on the sidelines for one of many interesting SEC games we got to talk to her about. She'll be down there at Ole Miss as they host Missouri. She joins us here on a football Friday. Taylor, thank you for coming.
00:01:42
Speaker 2: On with us.
00:01:42
Speaker 1: How you been?
00:01:44
Speaker 3: Absolutely. Thanks for having me. I am in fact here to bring the good vibes. So thank you for recognizing that. I've been well, it's been a crazy start to season so far. I honestly can't believe we're already at week seven, but I say that every year it flies by. So looking forward to this one though, a top 15 matchup and it's going to have everything you want in a SEC game.
00:02:03
Speaker 1: Let's talk about that one first. I mean, there's so much to talk about in the SEC. I know we want to ask you a Gamecocks question too. I know they're off, but we got to do that for the, for the Gamecock fans. Listen, But let's just start with Ole Miss, Missouri. I mean, I kind of feel like you could see a fun one with a ton of points tomorrow in that one. Like, what are you expecting to see tomorrow?
00:02:22
Speaker 3: Yeah, we are kind of expecting a high-scoring game in this one, and it really feels like it could be one of those that comes down to who has the ball last. And I think as much as it feels like low-hanging fruit to immediately point to the quarterbacks, you have to in this one. These are two of the best quarterbacks in the country. And by the way, they've got all the history tied to it. Obviously, Austin Simmons, formerly at Ole Miss, an injury made way for for Trinidad Chambliss, who is now the essential face of college football, Heisman frontrunner, and now Austin Simmons returns to Oxford, along with his, you know, impressive wideout, Caden Lee, who was also with him here at Ole Miss. And it's a top 15 matchup with playoff implications. It's crazy that we're saying that already, but each of these teams already have an SEC loss, and they still have Texas, Georgia, and Oklahoma left on their schedule. So winning out would be incredibly difficult from here. So It has everything on the line already, and I actually think that both of these teams have a lot of talent, and they're going to have to go prove it. You look to Trinidad Chambliss and the Ole Miss offense, and they've really just done everything that you expect them to be, even with a limited Kiwan Lacy. But the defense has been a bit of a question mark until their bye week, and then they looked a lot better against Vandy. Four turnovers, only six missed tackles when they had had three consecutive games of 14 missed tackles. But was it because they were up against Vanderbilt? No disrespect to Vanderbilt, but this is going to be a much more high-caliber opponent that you're seeing in Missouri's offense. And Missouri's defense is arguably a strength of the team, specifically the defensive front, looking to make things difficult for Chambliss. So it has everything that you could possibly want. Special teams is going to be important, too. And a little bit of emotional tie to this one. So you never know what happens when that's in the fold.
00:04:13
Speaker 2: That is the voice of Taylor Davis, ESPN, SEC Network, on the sidelines this weekend for Missouri and Ole Miss tomorrow afternoon. Taylor, to say it's been a rollercoaster ride for the Gamecocks may not do justice to rollercoasters at this point. So as we sit here on the bye week, what's now the expectation, do you think, for the Gamecocks after the big win at Florida last week? It's changed so quickly. Now what can they do in a positive sense the rest of the way?
00:04:42
Speaker 4: Right.
00:04:43
Speaker 3: You have to continue the momentum that you were able to garner from that. And I think what is also kind of a head scratcher this season is the Florida Gators. What in the heck is going on in Gainesville? Beginning of the season, I was covering Florida and I was going, okay, this may be one of the best offenses in the country. All the weapons that they have. Aaron Filo looks great. I think Buster Faulkner is one of the best offensive coordinators in the country. People need to pay attention to the Florida Gators. Even Ole Miss and Missouri, who I've got this week, faced Florida a week apart. And if you look at the stat line difference in Ole Miss's loss to Florida and Missouri's win over Florida, it doesn't look like the same team.
00:05:23
Speaker 4: So I do.
00:05:24
Speaker 3: Wonder how impactful that loss can be for Ole Miss, because now we're looking at Florida a little bit differently, but also how impactful can that win be for South Carolina? I think that they're going to have to continue momentum because you do have a question mark of the opponent. But regardless, we all know how contentious things have been, you know, in Columbia, around Shane Beamer, around the North Sellers, the Dylan Stewart suspension. Things were not feeling good. That's typically when the train goes off the tracks entirely. The fact that they still focused inward and were able to go get a road win like that, I don't care what Florida's doing. Playing in the swamp is hard. It is loud.
00:06:04
Speaker 4: It is intense.
00:06:05
Speaker 3: The fact that this team still rallied, put something together, and looked like a much more equipped team. I think there's momentum to be taken from that. I want to see Lenores continue to find his groove, because I think what he's been up against with so much change, and honestly, at times, not even a lot of help from his targets. I think you've got to build a little bit off of what they've garnered in the Florida win.
00:06:28
Speaker 1: Taylor Davis is with us, ESPN sideline reporter. She's got Mizzou and Ole Miss tomorrow. I want to ask you about Alabama-Tennessee. That one, I mean, there's three real interesting SEC games on at the same time. You got one of them. But this Alabama-Tennessee game is intriguing. I mean, do you think, can Tennessee's defense kind of keep them in that game? Because, like, if Alabama goes off like normal, I have a hard time believing Tennessee's going to score with them. What do you think about this one?
00:06:58
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:06:58
Speaker 3: I'm glad that you started with Tennessee's defense because I think that that is what would keep them in the game if it's possible. Also, this being in Neyland. But I think that actually Alabama losing that game last week is bad news for Tennessee because they are coming into this game so irritated. They feel slighted. They feel like they let that one slip away. And obviously the calls, whether we like to focus on it or not, it definitely played a role. So if you, I wouldn't want to be in the line of fire of a slighted Alabama team personally. And I think that's what Tennessee is going to see. But I just was on the call for Tennessee, Arkansas last week. And I saw that defense up close, specifically the defensive front and the linebackers. The first two levels of that defense are very talented, very, very talented defensively. Bringing in Jim Knowles from Penn State was such a good hire by Josh Heupel. And interestingly, he brought with him a coach at every level and a player at every single level. So it's allowed them to implement this system way quicker. They are doing new install weekly because they have so many guys that are helping make sure that that thing is fine-tuned. So I think the defense is actually going to be a tough test for Keelan Russell and Alabama defensively. But I think they've got more firepower offensively to eventually make it happen, whether it's deep shots, whether it's just continuing to kind of ground and pound and let Keelan Russell go improv a little bit more. Because I don't know that this Tennessee offense can keep up with him. The fact that Tennessee's offense has, you know, had so many question marks, specifically around the quarterback, and we have been told that George McIntyre is getting another start. He was good, not great last week. A few turnovers and a few kind of young moments. But Faison Brandon still dealing with a shoulder injury. And honestly, even injury aside, It did seem the game was a bit too fast for him. Some of the sacks were on him. So I think that they kind of feel that's the best option to start McIntyre. But Deshaun Bishop can't carry the load, you know, the entirety of the SEC season. I mean, he's a stud. Don't get me wrong. But I don't think this Tennessee offense has enough figured out to hang with the tide.
00:09:02
Speaker 2: Taylor, we were talking to sideline reporter Evan Washburn of CBS last segment. He's got the Eagles and Panthers in Philly. We were talking to him about being near the Philly fans on the sidelines, and he told us about the Black Hole fans in Oakland, and he would have to run from spot to spot just to get away from them. We were going to ask you, in the SEC, who has the rowdiest fan base when you're sitting there on the sidelines doing your job?
00:09:33
Speaker 3: That's a really good question. I think it really has so much to do with the matchup, I will say. Like, I fully expect tomorrow is going to be.
00:09:42
Speaker 4: Kind of wild.
00:09:43
Speaker 3: But it's dang near impossible if you're talking SEC rowdy fan bases to not talk about LSU.
00:09:49
Speaker 4: Come on.
00:09:50
Speaker 3: I mean, a game in Death Valley after tailgating all day in Baton Rouge, those people get nuts. And honestly, it's all in good fun. I love it. covering games there. But, yeah, do I get messed with a good bit? Yes, but it's all in good fun. I love going to Death Valley.
00:10:07
Speaker 1: That's awesome. That is awesome. And that is not a surprising answer. That was the odds-on favorite. That was the favorite. That was definitely the favorite.
00:10:15
Speaker 2: We didn't think it was the Vanderbilt fans.
00:10:17
Speaker 1: No.
00:10:18
Speaker 4: No, unfortunately not.
00:10:20
Speaker 3: Well, when the Pobias were there, there was usually some stuff going on with that.
00:10:24
Speaker 2: Oh, that's true.
00:10:25
Speaker 1: They got rowdy. That fam got rowdy.
00:10:28
Speaker 2: That's a good point.
00:10:29
Speaker 1: No doubt about it.
00:10:30
Speaker 3: You knew when they were in the stadium.
00:10:32
Speaker 2: I'll tell you that.
00:10:34
Speaker 1: And Theo Vaughn showed up, too. It was a party. No doubt about it. All right. Taylor, great talking ball with you. Awesome stuff. We appreciate it. We'll be watching. Tomorrow, for you on the sidelines, SEC Network at 3.30, Ole Miss and Missouri. Thank you so much. Enjoy your time down there in the Grove. Appreciate you.
00:10:55
Speaker 3: Thank you guys so much. Have a great day.
00:10:57
Speaker 2: You too.
00:10:58
Speaker 1: There you go. That is Taylor Davis, ESPN, joining us here on the Mac and Bone Show. This is a loaded-up final hour, Bone. We're going to have Picante's picks. We forgot them last week. Wait, he went 2-2 last week. We're going to do Picante's picks. We think he might be here at Harrah's. We're not sure yet. He should be. He said he loved it. He's been here before. Anybody that loves sports gambling or just gambling in general, I mean, Bone and I are kind of.
00:11:24
Speaker 2: Not just game watching in general.
00:11:26
Speaker 1: Game watching in general. How about a bunch of bars around in general, cool restaurants and stuff, just an all-around good time. But we got Zach Gelb coming up. We're going to see what he thinks about the Panthers. Like, is this a can't-lose game against Philly with Hurts out with all their injuries? Does he think we should still be worried? We'll talk to Gelb about that coming up at 925. But right now, our next guest, I guess I can give him that billing. Give him one second, boys.
00:11:55
Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
00:11:55
Speaker 1: All right, we're getting ready to get him on here.
00:11:58
Speaker 2: Is that Shrop?
00:11:59
Speaker 1: Is Shrop holding it down? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:12:01
Speaker 2: What's up?
00:12:01
Speaker 1: What happened? Did you run Philly out of the studio?
00:12:04
Speaker 2: Oh, did he get his stomachache again?
00:12:05
Speaker 1: Potentially.
00:12:07
Speaker 2: Potentially.
00:12:07
Speaker 1: I can either confirm or deny. He ran out to get a jar of mustard. He made himself craving mustard so badly during that mustard mayo debate earlier on the show. All right, let us know when you're good, Shrop. We are going to have our guy– Why do I forget which initials go where?
00:12:26
Speaker 2: It's BP from HB.
00:12:29
Speaker 1: There you go.
00:12:29
Speaker 2: He's from Huntington Beach.
00:12:30
Speaker 1: I wanted to call him HP from the BP.
00:12:34
Speaker 2: No, that's a medical condition. It's one of those ads on TV. If you've got HP from the PV.
00:12:43
Speaker 1: And if you're at the BP, you're just calling us from a gas station. That's not what's happening here. We're stalling, Finney.
00:12:48
Speaker 4: Hurry up.
00:12:49
Speaker 1: Our guy BP from the HB. He's 1-0. We had to do something very– we had to make two tough decisions. We had to take Sir Loin off pep talk duty, and we know how much he loves screaming to us on the air. That was hard. Then fan favorite Weatherman Mark, he was just singing a song, Bone, but the Panthers lost the game. We had to take him off Weatherman– or off Weatherman duty. Off pep talk duty. But our man, BP, got it done. He's 1-0. He is back again to pump up the Panthers. Pump up the Panthers.
00:13:23
Speaker 2: He gassed us up.
00:13:23
Speaker 1: BP, hit us up, baby. Pump us up for the Eagles game. What are you thinking?
00:13:29
Speaker 5: Mac, Harley Bone.
00:13:32
Speaker 1: Yo. City.
00:13:34
Speaker 5: Beautiful people of Queen City. It's me.
00:13:38
Speaker 4: Do you hear that?
00:13:41
Speaker 1: Yeah, we got you.
00:13:42
Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, baby.
00:13:43
Speaker 4: We got it.
00:13:44
Speaker 2: Woo-hoo. Oh, yeah.
00:13:48
Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Where is it at?
00:13:51
Speaker 1: Are you feeling it? Are you feeling it this week?
00:13:53
Speaker 4: My other song wasn't queued. I'm not Fitty. I'm not Fitty. Wait, is it here? Here it is. We're giving up on the music. Technical difficulties.
00:14:05
Speaker 1: He's just yelling.
00:14:06
Speaker 4: I'm back. One and all on this. Let's break this down with some good and bad. The bad, how are they going to cut Max's food voucher in half? The man just braved a mountain in a hoopty.
00:14:19
Speaker 1: That's right, baby. Hoopty made it the whole way. I deserve rewards.
00:14:23
Speaker 4: Yeah, but back to football. Blood pot. That's bad. That's bad. The good? We're playing a team whose fans cannot spell. And also, it's more good. There's no Jalen Hurts. Even with them, though, the Eagles have only been averaging 160 passing yards per game. That's 31st of 32 in the NFL. Coming off a heartbreaking loss in London. Eight seconds?
00:14:50
Speaker 5: Eight seconds?
00:14:51
Speaker 2: Come on.
00:14:51
Speaker 4: Fitty can do better than that. Did you know? Did you know that multiple teams coming off an international game against a team coming off a bye are historically 0-4 in this situation?
00:15:04
Speaker 1: Great call.
00:15:04
Speaker 4: Do you know what that means?
00:15:07
Speaker 2: How are.
00:15:10
Speaker 5: We going to do this?
00:15:11
Speaker 4: How are we going to do it? One, we're going to make Tanner McKee beat you. Guy with third string, sit behind the red rifle before Dalton's release, all right?
00:15:22
Speaker 3: You can say, oh, he's supposed to be good.
00:15:23
Speaker 5: He's been there, whatever.
00:15:24
Speaker 4: No, he sucks. Bama Bryce is playing the best football of his pro career. Stay aggressive. Panthers averaging over 30 a game. We got to start fast. Take an early lead. Force Philly into passing downs.
00:15:39
Speaker 3: And then you know what's going to happen if we take a lead?
00:15:42
Speaker 4: The fans are going to turn on Sirianni. They're ready to explode. All right? Win the turnover battle. Carolina's plus three in turnover differential. Philly's minus three. I like those odds. You win that. Take care of the ball. Force Philly to be one-dimensional.
00:15:59
Speaker 1: And guess what?
00:16:00
Speaker 4: We're going to win 27-17. Let's go. There we go, VP.
00:16:04
Speaker 2: There we go, VP.
00:16:07
Speaker 1: You the man, BP. That was a great performance. BP, BP, BP, BP. That was a hell of a performance. That was a hell of a performance. And the amazing thing about it is, in the middle of that part rant, part comedy routine, he dropped the stat that I wanted to use today, and it slipped my mind. It wasn't going to get on the show if it wasn't for him. I had the whole thing typed out in my notes. In this scenario where the Eagles' bone have, I've got to be honest with you, been screwed by the league to have to come back from a London trip overseas, play a game against a team that was sitting out and resting and healing up in a bye week. I wanted to use that stat. Thank God he got it in. 4-0, the team that has the bye week that goes against the team that was playing in Europe the week before.
00:16:54
Speaker 2: Philly will never complain about that, though.
00:16:56
Speaker 1: No, not at all. Not at all. Anyway, strong performance from BP. We'll see if he can make it 2-0 as the pep talker. When we come back on a football Friday, what does our boy Gelby think? What does Zach Gelb think about the Panthers? Is this a game where they've now become three-and-a-half-point favorites that they can't lose? How's he feeling about it? And what does he think about Bo Nix? It is Bo Nix slander season, and they won yesterday, but it was that bad. We'll talk to him about that, too. Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ. Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ. Mack and Bone with you. Having a good time. How can you not? As we broadcast live from one of the fan caves right here off the sports book at Harrah's Cherokee Casino and Resort. Our guy Marvin was telling me, Bone, you apply for a Players Club card. He was telling you that's where you should be after the show, getting your Players Club card. If you've never had one before at Harrah's, And you sign up, you get one. They spin a wheel for you. You get anything from $ 10 or $ 500 to work with. So that's beautiful right.
00:18:18
Speaker 2: There, man. Our guy Showtime just walked out there, played the roulette table, won some money. I mean, I've never seen anyone play those games like this live before.
00:18:27
Speaker 1: 1-2-25 and just roll right back to the show, baby.
00:18:31
Speaker 2: I can work the gambling kiosk. I've never played those games before. That's a whole other level. We are a very lame tandem in a lot of ways.
00:18:39
Speaker 5: Yes.
00:18:39
Speaker 1: But when it comes to casinos, I also have never played a table game gambling.
00:18:44
Speaker 2: I don't even know how. I'm afraid they would take advantage of me.
00:18:48
Speaker 1: Well, I always feel like it would be intimidating. You get a bunch of people that are really, like, legit– the dealer, but Marvin says they talk you through it, but I have never done that before. Roulette seems okay, right? You just put a chip down. On a color, a number, odds or evens. But the card games intimidate me, man.
00:19:08
Speaker 2: Hell, yesterday when the guy walked up to my car, the valet, I thought he was taking my.
00:19:11
Speaker 1: Car from me. Bone ain't used to this high class.
00:19:14
Speaker 2: No, I'm not. But I could get used to it.
00:19:16
Speaker 1: Oh, man.
00:19:17
Speaker 2: Because I'm going to get a player's card. And that's a whole other level.
00:19:19
Speaker 1: Get there, baby. Get there. All right.
00:19:22
Speaker 2: Showtime just walking around winning stuff.
00:19:24
Speaker 1: Let's talk to our next. I think he made more money than we have this show. I start thinking about it.
00:19:30
Speaker 2: Damn. Damn, Showtime.
00:19:32
Speaker 1: All right, let's bring in our next guest that probably is ashamed of us. He probably can work the tables in a casino like no other. I'm thinking Atlantic City Trips for this dude. He is Zach Gelb. By the way, he's in the Compass Media Studios. Atlantic City trips for this dude. He is Zach Gelb. By the way, he's in the Compass Media Studios for Auburn, Georgia on Saturday and then on Sunday, that big night game, Cowboys and Packers. Gelb joins us here on the Mac and Bone Show. What's up, Gelb?
00:20:00
Speaker 2: How you doing, man?
00:20:02
Speaker 4: Guys, doing phenomenal. I actually have a quick blackjack story for you.
00:20:07
Speaker 2: The first time I.
00:20:08
Speaker 4: I ever played blackjack. I had no clue what I was doing. I had 19 and the dealer says, what do you want to do? And I didn't really know what to do. So I just said, all right, I'll hit. I ended up getting an ace. This guy who is about 85 years old looks at me, and he goes, son, you are the luckiest son of a you-know-what I've ever seen. You should get up and never play this again.
00:20:31
Speaker 1: I didn't listen to him.
00:20:32
Speaker 4: I keep on playing, but, you know, we all won. I wonder if I mess up the table, though, he probably would have, like, a Tony Soprano character come over to me and just whack my kneecaps or something like that.
00:20:41
Speaker 1: See, that's my fear is I would mess things up for others, and we'd have hell to pay.
00:20:46
Speaker 2: That is hilarious, though. I'm afraid I would get panicky and go, ah! Hit me. I just freak out out there.
00:20:54
Speaker 1: Oh, that's a trip, man. That's awesome, though. So, Gelby, this Panther game has changed complexion with this Jalen Hurts news. I mean, Philly's already so banged up, the offensive line, the skill position, guys. It's now gone from where the Panthers are one-and-a-half point dogs to open the week to where they're three-and-a-half point favorites. Do you look at this game and say, oh, the Panthers have this, or do you still worry– that the Panthers could get had by Tanner McKee. How you feel about this?
00:21:23
Speaker 4: Two words, killer instinct. That's what I want to see from the Carolina Panthers this week. Like remember a few weeks ago when they went up against Cleveland and we all thought, Oh, they'll definitely be Cleveland. And then we're sitting there and we're saying, eh, maybe the Panthers aren't that good. I know that had that game up against the lions where Bryce young was phenomenal. and they were able to weather that storm when the Lions looked like they were going to get back into the football game and maybe go win it. But I want to see killer instinct from the Carolina Panthers this week because there is no doubt about it. With how banged up Philadelphia is, Lane Johnson retiring, Cam Juergens getting traded, now Jalen Hurts out with blood clots. With what the Panthers have, and we're still trying to decipher– Are they just good because of the NFC South or are they actually good? Well, good teams find a way to beat up on inferior teams. And it's wild that we're saying this going into week six, that the Eagles are an inferior team, but with the way that they're playing and now starting the key, because Kurtz is out with the blood clot, this is a game where the Panthers must just dominate an inferior football team.
00:22:29
Speaker 2: No, that's well said. Cause we were, we were trying to think of the way to describe this game and Because you can't really say must win based off the amount of games left. But I think killer instinct.
00:22:40
Speaker 4: You've got to have it. There are must wins, can't loses, and you've got to have it. This is a game that you've just got to have it.
00:22:47
Speaker 2: That's what we were saying.
00:22:48
Speaker 1: I like that.
00:22:49
Speaker 2: If Bryce maintains, Gelby, this level of play so far. Now, obviously, he's on a pace for 5,300 yards. That's a little ridiculous. But just the high level of play to a certain level. What future contract do you think we're looking at for Bryce Young?
00:23:04
Speaker 4: 55, $ 60 million a year. Like right now he's better than CJ Stroud right now. He's better than Bo Nix. Um, I know Trevor Lawrence is getting his damn act together, but look at the contract that like the two guys I just mentioned in young and shall, they haven't been paid. Trevor Lawrence has been paid. And I think it's like $ 55 million a year. Dak Prescott makes $ 60 million a year. Uh, Bryce young right now is really good. Uh, I still don't know If he'll ever be elite, I don't know if I'll ever be top five, but we know this really good quarterbacks get paid great money. and the career turnaround of Bryce Young has just been so fun to watch. We all thought his career was bust when the first benching happened. Then he came on back, and he was solid. And then last year, he did some good things. But this year, what we're seeing from Bryce Young is really spectacular.
00:23:55
Speaker 5: You don't got to rush.
00:23:56
Speaker 4: You don't got to make a decision right now. That will be handled in the offseason. But if he keeps it up, even if he takes a little bit of a step back, he's getting a $ 55, $ 60 million a year contract this offseason. Maybe they could convince him to take a little bit less to try to go help the rest of the team. But we know throughout the history of the league, usually these quarterbacks, they don't take discounts and they get top of the line dollar.
00:24:19
Speaker 1: Yeah, Bryce is the nicest guy ever. I would play on that if I were the Panthers. You know you're the nicest guy ever, Bryce. Take a little less. Play for free, Bryce. But I think you're right about that neighborhood. If he keeps anywhere close to this performance, I agree. You mentioned Bo Nix. He was the winning quarterback, but my God, he is getting slandered all over ESPN this morning. He looks like he's afraid to, he threw three passes beyond the sticks, Gelby. But then you have Sam Darnold, who couldn't take advantage of how bad the Denver offense was. And through those two late game interceptions, neither one of these teams looks the part of what we thought they would be, I think. What do you say?
00:24:59
Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like the Broncos are last year's version of the Houston Texans, where they have a phenomenal defense, and then offensively, it's going to be a painful watch. That's what they remind me. In Seattle, 3-3, when they made the comeback last night, you'll think that they'll go win the game in overtime, and then Sam Darnold turned into... Dean ghost and getting mono jets version, Sam Darnold, which I thought that was out of his system with the way that he played the last two years. Seattle really misses Kenneth Walker. I know he won the Superbowl MVP at the time. I didn't think it would be that big of a loss. And I thought because of running back by committee in this league, they'll find a way to replace him. But man, Kenneth Walker has been the MVP so far of the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs, which is a wild statement to say when he's playing next to Patrick Mahomes. But you look at Bo Nix. I think there's a problem between him and the head coach because you have Davis Webb call the plays and then you quickly take that back. Sean's been calling the plays last night and it just didn't look pretty. I know he supported the quarterback after the game and the offense. by saying, hey, it doesn't matter in this league how you win just as long as you win. But I will say this. I thought Ryan Fitzpatrick last night after the game, I am so sick of this guy. You know, he was not a good quarterback in this league, and he's sitting there saying his play is disrespectful to quarterbacks. Well, like, how about your play when you were in the league? You know, I know that you were like a prop, and you were basically a dog and pony show, and everyone loved the Fitz magic, but I remember you being the quarterback. I'm a Patriot fan, but I remember you being the quarterback of the Jets and urinating down your leg in that final game of the season all those years ago. So enough with this magic stuff. Each and every Thursday, we got to see him rip his shirt off, and everyone thinks he's so funny. I find the guy absolutely insufferable.
00:26:46
Speaker 2: No, I'm with you. It's one thing if guys like Troy Aikman and Kurt Warner and these high-level guys that are Hall of Famers are analyzing somebody. You're right. Ryan Fitzpatrick was a cartoon character. What are we doing here with this guy?
00:27:02
Speaker 4: Yeah, and here's the thing. I'm not saying he can't have an opinion. It's like the three of us are three bums. We all have opinions. Exactly. There's a certain way, like Dan Orlovsky is a friend, not a good quarterback in the NFL, tremendous analyst. But to get on TV when you're Ryan Fitzpatrick and say it's like disrespectful to the quarterback position, like, bro, we've seen your tape. So if that's disrespectful of Bo Nix, then what were you?
00:27:31
Speaker 1: He went off too you don't normally hear that about a winning quarterback that felt almost personal that's going viral that was extreme real quick Gal before we let you go the ESPN report is saying what we figured was the case that it is all but done that college football will go to a 2014 playoff and they'll have it in place by next season do you I mean we hate it do you not like this how do you feel about.
00:27:59
Speaker 4: This Well, it really doesn't matter if I like it or hate it because college football and just football in general has this all by the cojones. And they could literally spit in our faces, sleep with our woman. And we would still sit on the couch each and every Saturday and Sunday and be like, yeah, I'm ready to go to go watch college football.
00:28:18
Speaker 1: In the NFL.
00:28:19
Speaker 4: Like we're addicted in this society to football. With that being said, I absolutely despise it. I think it's so unnecessary. I think it will devalue the regular season. We'll still watch the regular season games and get all jacked up, but there is a buffer. But to go to 12 to 24 is just so drastic. But we'll all end up watching at the end of the day. And, and I, and like, I just encourage anyone that's like, yeah, this is awesome. Yeah, this is great. Go look at what the first round matchups would have been last year. And I know we've had some bad first round matchups, even in a 14 format, but go back and look at the first round matchups, what they would have been last year in a 2014 format. And please, I beg someone to tell me that they would get excited for more than two matchups because even just getting to one or two is difficult. It is ridiculous. The other thing I don't want to hear because, hey, teams 13 and 14 in the 12 team format, all we hear about them is bitching. If someone's going to bitch, that's team 25 or 26. Just shut the bleep up because you can't make it in a 2014 format. I don't want to hear about a four loss SEC team. Oh, we should have got it. No nonsense. I don't want to hear that.
00:29:25
Speaker 1: 100%. You know all it is, Gelby, is these schools now have to ask their boosters for so much dang money to pay these players or to pay buyouts. These boosters want something in return. so they want to be able to say, hey, look, our school went to the playoff. But at some point, don't the boosters say, I don't give a damn. We lost by 36 in the first round of a 2014 playoff. I ain't giving my money for that. I don't know, man.
00:29:54
Speaker 4: By the way, guys. I think this is our Bryce young season. Like, I think this is either the fourth or fifth year I've done this show. And at times we've been contentious at times you've hung up the phone on me. I don't know about you guys, but the synergy and the chemistry through the first five, six weeks, I'm like Bryce young in the pocket, just delivering touchdown after touchdown, after touchdown, Mac is like Petero McMillan. And I guess bones like Cuba Hubbard. There you go, baby.
00:30:20
Speaker 1: Not Canadian, though.
00:30:21
Speaker 4: I get Hubbard any time touchdown this week. I need him to get in the end zone, all right? All right.
00:30:25
Speaker 2: Now, you said college football, like, it could sleep with our women and we're cool with that. It would actually free up some time, though, wouldn't it, if college football took some off our plate?
00:30:33
Speaker 1: They did that, and we just watched more football.
00:30:35
Speaker 2: Exactly. It's not a bad idea to go.
00:30:37
Speaker 4: I really hope my girlfriend and her family isn't listening to this segment.
00:30:41
Speaker 5: I know.
00:30:41
Speaker 4: They do have a home in North Carolina, but I will say this.
00:30:45
Speaker 2: You made sense, though.
00:30:47
Speaker 4: I will actually be able to watch more football if college football did sleep with my guy.
00:30:52
Speaker 2: I know.
00:30:52
Speaker 1: That's the point. That's the point. I don't want Mrs. Mack to have heard that either, but there's a point there.
00:30:57
Speaker 4: You know, Nebraska's playing Indiana. Hey, maybe we should go around Central Park for a walk.
00:31:02
Speaker 2: How about.
00:31:04
Speaker 4: No?
00:31:05
Speaker 1: Galby, we love it, man. That was great stuff. Have a good weekend. We'll talk to you next week.
00:31:11
Speaker 4: You got it, guys. Don't hit on 18 or 19, all right, if you play blackjack.
00:31:15
Speaker 1: There you go. I wrote that down.
00:31:16
Speaker 2: That's a hell of a tip. Write that down, Bo. We're going to do Picante next segment. Okay, so when we come back, we'll do Picante's picks. Due to time constraints, Picante's next segment. Let's do it, man. A lot of people want to know. Bo, you probably want to know when you go to that bed in kiosk. You probably want to know. What are Picante's picks? When I walk two feet over here?
00:31:32
Speaker 1: Play the Picante parlay, baby. All right? Those things could win you some cash. When we come back, what are Picante's picks? We'll wrap it up. We'll take one more look at the text line. We'll get you ready for a big football weekend. We're live from Harrah's Cherokee Casino and Resort, Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ. Sports Radio 92.7 WFNC. Coming down the homestretch here of our broadcast live from Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort. I heard KB and Fitty here. I heard Wes and Walker here just raving about it. We now can do the raving, too. We have experienced it. And we both talked about yesterday how this place must be awesome for March Madness. Like that first weekend of the tournament bunk, to be here with a bunch of dudes, man.
00:32:37
Speaker 2: Like, it could be a blast. Yeah, you could bring family here. Kids have their– there's arcades and there's bowling and there's live concerts here all the time. Even if you're not the biggest gambler, just watch it on the TV setup that they have. It's an incredible place. As a matter of fact, my back hurts right now. I don't think I can get up off this couch.
00:32:58
Speaker 1: You're going to need to stay there for a while.
00:33:00
Speaker 2: Yeah, if you could actually– Marvin, could you move that kiosk a little closer to me right now?
00:33:04
Speaker 1: I'd like to pull it up right next to you right there. Don't even have to get up.
00:33:08
Speaker 2: Can you get a Caesar Sportsbook kiosk at home like that? Because I would really use that. The fan cave is cool, man. It's right here adjacent.
00:33:16
Speaker 1: To the sportsbook. The sportsbook is cool.
00:33:17
Speaker 2: Although I've seen a little bit too much. The TV is really big. I put a video up. That team on WFNZ. Rex Ryan coming up on my screen was a little much, though.
00:33:25
Speaker 1: You didn't need to see his head that giant.
00:33:27
Speaker 2: That close to you. And we've got Picante, right?
00:33:29
Speaker 1: Rex was so close that he was admiring your feet, Bone. That's how close he was on a big screen TV. All right, so we got Picante. It's time for Picante's picks, everybody, as we ramp this thing down. Let's see what he's going with. 2-2 last week. Had a winning week the week before. But Picante believes Bone. He's getting a dub this week, so let's see what he's got. Picante, what's going on, man?
00:33:55
Speaker 2: How you doing?
00:33:56
Speaker 5: Hey, guys. Welcome back. Welcome to week seven, man. We're ready right now.
00:34:00
Speaker 1: It's time, baby. You feeling good about these picks, Picante?
00:34:04
Speaker 5: I'm feeling great right now. And you guys in Cherokee, it gave me the boost that I needed it.
00:34:09
Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
00:34:09
Speaker 2: That's what we're looking for. Picante, they're going to raise your jersey to the rafters here at some point.
00:34:14
Speaker 4: Hey, I wanted to make a comment.
00:34:17
Speaker 5: Somebody say that Ingles– It was like Wegman. That is nuts. That's crazy.
00:34:22
Speaker 2: Oh, you got grocery stores. You got grocery store takes now.
00:34:25
Speaker 1: Is Ingles not?
00:34:26
Speaker 5: It's a texture or something. Dude, Wegman is like Whole Foods having a baby with Trader Joe's. Wegman is something else.
00:34:36
Speaker 1: What's Ingles then?
00:34:37
Speaker 2: This is your passion.
00:34:38
Speaker 1: Because I've never even been to an Ingles. Is Ingles not like that? It's not upscale like that?
00:34:43
Speaker 5: No, no, no. Ingles is more like two food lions together.
00:34:51
Speaker 2: Hey, Picante, I don't mean to pry. Two food lines together. Picante, I don't mean to pry. Do you have your picks?
00:34:56
Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm sorry.
00:34:57
Speaker 1: Bone, you didn't want his grocery store picks?
00:34:58
Speaker 2: Well, we're running out of time here, Pete.
00:35:00
Speaker 1: All right.
00:35:01
Speaker 5: Okay, I'll do it quick. My first pick will be Rutgers and Maryland on the over. They both have horrible defense, horrible. And I think KJ Dolph is going to go off. I mean, he should be in another team, but. He's a great wide receiver. So Rodgers over 55 and a half.
00:35:21
Speaker 2: Okay.
00:35:21
Speaker 1: Okay.
00:35:22
Speaker 5: My second pick will be Badgers plus two and a half. No Nico, no offense. It's a very easy win for the Badgers. They've been playing really good after that loss against the Notre Dame. So I'm very comfortable with the Badgers.
00:35:39
Speaker 1: I can definitely see it.
00:35:40
Speaker 5: Two and a half. And my third one, which I'm 7-2, actually, on my overs. So my third one will be an over to the moon, Ole Miss versus Missouri.
00:35:54
Speaker 1: I love that.
00:35:55
Speaker 5: I like that game over because it's like an application for the playoff. So they're going to go at it. And Ole Miss defense is not good, man. It's like week seven. If you're not figuring it out for now, that's it.
00:36:07
Speaker 4: You're done.
00:36:08
Speaker 5: 100%.
00:36:09
Speaker 1: What's the number on that for overs?
00:36:11
Speaker 5: Oh, I'm sorry. 58 and a half. 58 and a half.
00:36:15
Speaker 1: I like it. I like it. And Picante's overs, baby.
00:36:18
Speaker 2: How about that?
00:36:19
Speaker 5: Thank you, guys.
00:36:20
Speaker 2: They've been paying mortgages for Picante. On Instagram. At the Picante pics on Instagram. P-I-K-A-N-T-E. Also, a guy wants to fight you at Ingles. So, good luck with that.
00:36:32
Speaker 1: What's going on with that? Ingles slander?
00:36:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, people aren't happy with it. Yeah, there are some people. They want him to stick to his picks and not other takes. Miss Sweet Cheeks says you're spot on about Ingles. Uh-oh. Interesting.
00:36:42
Speaker 1: Smitty City says Ingles has way better food than Food Lion. Way nicer than Food Lion. All right.
00:36:48
Speaker 4: No, no, no.
00:36:49
Speaker 5: Wait, wait, wait. Ingles is better than Food Lion. I'm just being funny. But compared to Wegman, that is just absurd. It's insane.
00:36:58
Speaker 1: Okay.
00:36:58
Speaker 5: You're comparing Quick Trip to Buc-ee's. You know what I mean? Quick Trip is good, but it's not Buc-ee's.
00:37:05
Speaker 1: Okay.
00:37:06
Speaker 2: Picks and grocery content. This man does it all.
00:37:08
Speaker 1: Picante, you versatile, baby. You are versatile. Willie P's got your back, says Ingles is mid, says Willie P. Thank you.
00:37:15
Speaker 5: Thank you, Willie P.
00:37:17
Speaker 1: All right, Picante, good luck on those picks, baby.
00:37:20
Speaker 5: Yeah, let's go. I got you, bro.
00:37:22
Speaker 1: There you go.
00:37:23
Speaker 2: Can I say something? With the picks. I've been really, really good lately, although last Friday I didn't do as well. I went against– we were texting, and I went against him. Yeah. And he warned me, and I said, what does this contact know that I don't know? And I lost because I went against him. Oh, really? Yeah. Okay, so don't you dare. I thought Washington was going to beat– Washington, Iowa, I think it was.
00:37:43
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:37:44
Speaker 2: He said I was going to smoke him. And they did.
00:37:46
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:37:47
Speaker 2: I went against him, and I got– I'm a scrub. I'm a scrub compared to this man.
00:37:51
Speaker 1: That's why you've got to play the Pecante Parlay here at Harris, man. Get some money on that. His overs are 7-2. I like that little nugget that he gave us there.
00:37:59
Speaker 2: Oh, he's got all the stats.
00:38:00
Speaker 1: So ignore his– he is pretty good on the overs looking back at it, and he loves himself an over.
00:38:04
Speaker 2: He didn't do Oklahoma State this week, though, did he? Usually that's one of his picks.
00:38:07
Speaker 5: No.
00:38:08
Speaker 1: Why didn't he go over Oklahoma State-Houston? I could see that being an over.
00:38:11
Speaker 2: He may. I mean, he does 50,000 picks. That's true.
00:38:13
Speaker 1: That is true.
00:38:14
Speaker 2: Anyway, he's a fun dude, man. I've had the time of my life today, and I owe it all to you, honestly.
00:38:20
Speaker 1: All right. Well, don't go put baby in the corner while you're at it, all right, man? Anyway, yeah, we had fun here. This is an awesome spot, and I hope we did our part to kind of get the word out and let you all know. This is worth the three-hour trip from Charlotte to come over here and hang out. The only complaint we have is that they put us in the Atlanta room, Bo. Hawks, Braves gear. We need a Charlotte room. I'm telling you right now.
00:38:42
Speaker 2: There's a jersey next door to us, Panthers.
00:38:44
Speaker 1: Panthers?
00:38:45
Speaker 2: We got it?
00:38:45
Speaker 1: Okay.
00:38:46
Speaker 2: Next to a Falcons. Oh, no.
00:38:49
Speaker 1: We need to load this place up. Maybe we come back, maybe bring some Charlotte stuff with us. next time all right bone we appreciate uh marvin the man's job was to just sit and hang with us for four hours this man earned money today no one wants to do who wants to hang with us for four hours that's a horrible job marvin did it with a smile on his face we appreciate him we appreciate everybody out here at harris fitty schrub whoever helped back there as well showtime byron That dude ran out to the craps table, won two hundy, baby. Came right back like nothing happened. Good work out of the bone, man. We'll talk to you all. KB and I are live on Sunday. at 11 a.m., 11 to 1, getting you ready on countdown to kickoff for the Panther game. We are at the Twin Peaks in Concord. So come on out and stop by and see it. Good job, Fit. All right, great work, Fit. We'll talk to everybody. Charlotte Sports Today is coming up next.
