درباره این اپیزود
In this episode of the Lead Today Show, host Kalyna Miletic dives deep into the neurobiology of obsession. Whether you are a leader struggling to maintain focus or a coach helping a client through an "addictive" relationship, this episode provides the clinical frameworks and mindset shifts necessary to break the dopamine loop. We move beyond the "romance" and look at the "wiring," offering a roadmap to emotional sobriety and self-leadership.
1. The Science of the "Heart Glitch"
- Defining Limerence: We trace the origins of the term back to psychologist Dorothy Tennov (1979) and explain why it is an involuntary state.
- The Dopamine-Uncertainty Loop: Why "mixed signals" act as a biological drug. We discuss intermittent reinforcement—the same mechanism that makes gambling addictive—and how it applies to human connection.
- Limerence vs. Authentic Love: Learn the "Red Flag" differences. While love thrives on reality, safety, and reciprocity, limerence feeds on fantasy, anxiety, and the "maybe."
2. The Clinical Toolkit for Recovery Kalyna breaks down high-level therapeutic modalities into actionable steps for daily life:
- ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention): The gold standard for OCD, applied here to "starve" the obsession. Learn how to face the trigger without engaging in the "compulsion" (checking social media or re-reading old texts).
- The ABCDE Method: A Cognitive Behavioral tool to dismantle the "soulmate" narrative. We learn to Dispute the irrational beliefs that keep us tethered to the fantasy of the "Limerent Object" (LO).
- DBT & Emotional Regulation: Using TIPP skills (Temperature, Intense exercise, Paced breathing) to physically reset your nervous system when the "ache" of longing feels unbearable.
