I have four coaching certifications. A health coaching certification from IIN and a stress management certification (and a couple other ones) I got because I was convinced I needed more credentials before I could really help people.
And then I had a client session that changed everything I thought I knew about what actually qualifies you to coach.
She did not want to hear about the different types of stress. She did not care about the clinical frameworks or the terminology I had just spent thousands of dollars learning. She wanted to feel like a human being again. And the certification did not give me what I needed to help her get there. My own lived experience of burnout did. The moment I stopped teaching her and started telling her what I actually went through and what actually got me out, everything shifted.
That is when I knew. The paper was not the credential. My story was.
In this episode I am giving you the honest answer about coaching certifications that the industry is not giving you. Not because certifications are useless. Some of them are genuinely valuable programs. But because a certification is not what is standing between you and your first coaching client, and someone needs to say that out loud with real numbers and real evidence behind it.
Here is what we are getting into today. The real cost of coaching certifications in 2026, from four thousand dollars to over nineteen thousand, and what the ROI data actually says. Why certified coaches charge more per session and the truth about whether that premium comes from the paper or something else entirely. What my clients actually said when the testimonials came in and why none of it had anything to do with my credentials. When you should actually raise your rates and what the real signal is that tells you it is time. The honest roadmap for getting your first client without spending another dollar on credentials you do not need yet. And why God called you before He certified you and what that means for where you are right now.
This is not an anti-certification episode. It is a pro-calling episode. And if you have been sitting on your coaching business waiting to feel officially qualified enough to start, this one is going to move something in you.
In this episode you will hear the client session story that proved my lived experience was worth more than my certification. The real numbers behind what coaching certifications cost and what they actually deliver. Why the certification premium is about belief not paper and what that means for how you price your coaching. The honest roadmap from zero clients to raised rates without a single certification required. What Moses, Esther, and every woman God has ever used have in common with where you are standing right now. And the one thing that is actually missing in your coaching business right now and it is not a credential.
