In this episode of Launch Your Light, Jayme sits down with Chrissy, a voice liberation guide and trauma-informed embodiment practitioner, for a deeply personal conversation about finding your voice, inner child healing, play, self-expression, and the long road of personal transformation.
Chrissy shares her evolution from a shy, introverted child into a therapist, coach, breathwork practitioner, and guide helping others reclaim the parts of themselves that learned it wasn't safe to be fully seen or heard. She explains why voice work often begins before we ever make a sound, with the breath, and how childhood experiences can shape our relationship with expression well into adulthood.
Together, Jayme and Chrissy explore why meaningful healing rarely happens through a quick fix. Deep transformation can take months or years as we shift from treating personal growth like another goal to accomplish into building an ongoing relationship with ourselves.
They also dive into the healing power of play, imagination, and curiosity, and why play isn't simply an activity for children. It can become an entirely different way of approaching creativity, productivity, learning, parenting, and life itself.
The conversation eventually moves into even more vulnerable territory as Jayme and Chrissy share their experiences with miscarriage, fertility, prayer, surrender, and navigating seasons of life where there simply aren't clear answers. They reflect on the importance of having people who can sit beside us in the mystery, holding space for the grief, spirituality, humor, hope, and humanity that can exist all at once.
If you've been learning to use your voice, reconnect with yourself, release the pressure to constantly produce, or surrender more deeply to a season you cannot control, this conversation is a beautiful reminder that healing isn't always about reaching a destination.
Sometimes it's about learning how to stay in relationship with yourself along the way.
