What does it take to go from a recreational skier with no ski-racing experience to competing in the Olympics just four years later? In this episode of The Kingdom Method, Jeff Cox and Jimmie Dale sit down with Olympian, New York Times bestselling author, speaker, executive coach, and performance expert Vince Poscente for a powerful conversation about achieving extraordinary goals, overcoming setbacks, leadership, resilience, mental preparation, and building a life of impact.Vince's story sounds almost impossible. He began ski racing at 26 and competed in the Olympics at 30. Instead of simply trying to outwork athletes who had spent most of their lives competing, Vince searched for a different advantage: doing what his competition wasn't willing to do.That meant studying aerodynamics, investing heavily in mental training, visualization and imagery, and finding unconventional ways to prepare his mind for competition. Eventually, that approach helped take him all the way to the Olympic Games. And Vince wasn't exactly taking it easy once he got there. He shares what it was like speed skiing at up to 135 MPH down a mountain and confronting the fear and uncertainty that came with competing on the world's biggest stage. But this conversation goes far beyond the Olympics.Vince explains why success often follows an “S-curve,” where years of seemingly insignificant progress can suddenly reach a breakthrough point. He also opens up about what happened after the Olympics, rebuilding his identity and beginning another difficult climb that eventually led him into professional speaking, coaching and writing. The conversation also explores the ideas behind Vince's bestselling book The Ant and the Elephant, including the enormous influence of the subconscious mind and why your conscious goals and subconscious beliefs need to move in the same direction.Vince also shares lessons about curiosity, leadership, storytelling, competition, failure, resilience, service and how to respond when life doesn't follow the plan you expected. One of the biggest themes throughout the conversation is simple: extraordinary results often require being willing to go where other people won't.And Vince leaves the episode with one of the most important lessons he's passed down to his own children:Never make a decision based on fear.Instead, ask a different question:How will I serve with love?If you're an entrepreneur, business owner, leader, salesperson, or anyone pursuing a goal that feels bigger than you, this conversation offers practical lessons on performance, resilience, mindset and what it takes to keep moving when the easier option is to quit.Subscribe to The Kingdom Method for conversations about business, leadership, faith, entrepreneurship, personal growth, purpose and making a Kingdom impact.#VincePoscente #Olympian #TheKingdomMethod #Leadership #Entrepreneurship #Mindset #Success #Resilience #GoalSetting #PersonalDevelopmentFollow us on facebook @kingdommethod Follow us on instagram @kingdommethodshowFollow us on Tiktok @Kingdommethodshow
