Theresa Dedmon Ministries: So even in the difficult parts, God can help you to understand that that's part of your decoding your purpose. So many people think their purpose begins after healing. No, it begins in that process. Often God uses the very places where we've struggled. Example Joseph. Hi, I'm Teresa Deadman, and this is Kingdom Create Talks, where creativity and the supernatural collide. Each week I sit down with powerful guests, artists, entrepreneurs, and kingdom influencers who are creating with God and releasing heaven solutions into every area of culture. Together we explore how prophetic creativity breaks fear, shame, and And perfectionism so that you can live fully alive in your calling. If you're ready to unlock God's creative power within you, you're in the right place. Let's partner with the Creator and transform the world together. Well, welcome to KCM. Welcome to Kingdom Create Talks Podcast and Facebook Live. We're so glad that you are on today. I feel like this episode is. One of my favorites. It's one that you'll want to share with everybody because it's so important in our lives that we understand how to decode, how to grow in who we're meant to be. It's like there's there's so many ways that God speaks to us, right? And so as he does this, there's so many things that he can do in our lives. to show us the way and to decode the different ways that he speaks. God doesn't just speak in English or in whatever country you're from, but he speaks every type of language. He speaks in creativity in art, in movies, in dance, in ⁓ different ways that you can walk in nature and all of a sudden you see this deer or you see this bird or the ocean or whatever it is, wherever you live, he speaks to us in so many ways. And we need to decode who we're meant to be. And so we're talking about that. And it's gonna be fun. Our scripture today is Ephesians 2:10, for we are God's workmanship. That means like we're his poema. ⁓ and it means that we're called to do great works. Like that's just who God's called us to be in their good works. Which God prepared in advance for us to do. So He's already got your number. He's already got a book about who you are and what you're created to become. You know, the Greek word for workmanship is poema, and it means poem. So we are God's masterpiece. We are uniquely designed in the purpose that He's called us to be. And that's what I want you to find. So let's like see what God wants to do in your life. I declare new ways of you imagining and believing in who you are. I declare that you are God's workmanship. If there is any voice inside of you that is not agreeing with that, I silence that voice. Whoa, holy. In the name of Jesus. And I release God's voice above any other fear, anxiety, that you're not good enough, anything in Jesus' name. We just declare his goodness over you and what you have. So go after that. So many people spend years, and that this could be you. I know that I did for a while. What is God's will for my life? What is my purpose? How do I know what God created me to be? And so often we look on the outward for answers when God has already placed clues within us. Ooh, that'll preach. So often we look for outside answers, circumstances, other things to tell us who we are, when God has already placed clues through prophetic words, through dreams, through visions about who we are. And that is where we want to bring about that shift and change. All right. We want to say, what is God saying? So God leaves footprints in our destiny. Our He there's passions that you have that nobody else has. You have certain gifts that God has given you. Remember the parable of the talents, and He says not to waste those. ⁓ He's given you life experiences, things that you have walked through for healing. There could be ⁓ medical things that you've had to go through. There could be life-altering experiences that you've had to go through, trauma, or great experiences in going and getting your degree, or whatever. There's life experiences that lead you into who you're called to be. ⁓ there's burdens that you have. Some of you have a burden to end the sex slave trade. I have that too. Some of you are called. to go after justice for children that whose identity is being like ⁓ thwarted. ⁓ many of you have different destinies to go into politics or into helping families to be restored or or therapy or into like helping with the ministry up. There's just so many different ways that you have. And so you have a burden to see something change. The other thing is we all have dreams. So we all have these things inside of us that go, if only I could do that. Like right now I'm writing my children's book and illustrating it. And that's that's a dream that I've had since I was young that I'm fulfilling. I have books that I've written, but there's dreams inside of you that God wants to unpackage today. So just ask Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, what are my passions? What are the things that I love to do that I would do no matter what? What are my giftings, my talents? What life experiences have I had that have made me who I am that I could give away to others? What's my burden? What's that thing of justice that I want to see righted? ⁓ what's my dream? You know, what what is it that I want to see happen in my lifetime? And ⁓ what are the things that make me come alive? When I do that, I get energized. So Be thinking through that. This is like, I would say, an incredible like podcast for you to do some homework on that stuff. So passions, giftings, life experiences, burdens, dreams, and what makes you come alive. Just look at all of these and begin to write out, begin to ask Holy Spirit to show you that. So purpose isn't usually hidden. It's often woven throughout your entire story. So for me, like I remember when I was six and I was sitting waiting for my brother's sister to come back from school, and God spoke to me in an encounter with him. And I knew I was called to teach, and I knew that I was called to follow him, and that has I've never deviated from that. So my life purpose was revealed in just an encounter, just sitting with my dog Tammy when I was four or five. And so that's just a ⁓ it was a mile marker for me to go, ⁓ that is who I'm called to be. And so be thinking through those times when you've had encounters with God and what he was saying about you or prophetic words. ⁓ so point one, so this is the first thing is God gives clues before he gives assignments. So we talked about that in our part one, right? We talked about identity comes before assignments. So God gives us clues before David became king. He was a shepherd and he was learning to take care of the sheep. He was learning to fight the bear and the lion through the power of God. He was learning to ⁓ break off the demonic off of Saul. He was learning in so many different ways about who he was, right? So David learned courage in protecting the sheep. He he learned worship in lonely places. He wasn't really thought of thought very well from his family because. His father didn't even include him in to be a potential king when when Samuel came and wanted to anoint one of his sons as king. ⁓ and leadership before a throne. So he was in leadership. He was doing things before a hand. He was leading armies. He was doing stuff after he he caught he's he mean he killed Goliath. That's that's what he was doing before he was even at on the throne. And faithfulness he had Faithfulness in small things. The sheep. So think about your own life. You know, what is God building through those times alone? What is He are you faithful with your children, your grandchildren? Are you faithful with the things that you're doing with your job or the things that you're so ask God to show you what you're building and how you're growing? You know, one of the things that we have which I'm gonna put in the comments right now is we have a leadership academy. It's called KCM Leadership Academy. It's a nine-month program and it starts in September and it goes through May, where I help to disciple and mentor you to become the leader you're called to be, to go through these life lessons, to get more training like what I'm doing right now. But I give you chances to actually lead others. I give you chances to move supernaturally and prophesying and healing, going after supernaturally creatively, going after healing, going after a dream project that you decide from the very beginning of our time together to complete. And we give you the tools to do that. So that could be something for some of you that are listening that you resonate with. You go, ⁓ Teresa, I've been waiting for that. I mean I went to ministry school, but I'm not doing anything now. And so if that is you, if you wanted to grow Check it out on TeresaDedman.com slash community. Look at the Leadership Academy. And ⁓ and it's not like the the price is like it's there, but if anyone wants to go and and that price is too steep, we'll help you. Tell us what you can afford. So I don't want anybody that needs to be there from God to not come. We have a leadership ⁓ informational meeting on the on the ⁓ On this academy, which is in July, it's the second week of July. So check that out. Register is just an informational meeting where you can hear my heart and hear my leaders' hearts and decide if that's for you. So check it out. So what I'm saying is that his shepherding and with David going back to his story wasn't random, it was preparation. And so I'm going to help you to dive into like okay. How is God preparing you for what your calling truly is? So let's apply that to your life. What have you naturally loved since childhood? I loved creating. I loved art. I loved drama. I loved anything to see God's presence come upon people in a creative way. And so throughout my whole entire life, since I was like five, I've been creating art and I was involved in the charismatic movement where where I ⁓ where I we did plays in prisons, we did music and worship in churches. ⁓ I I just I was doing that, planted a church, did the same thing. There's so much that I've done in my life since I've been young that naturally flowed. And the reason why that's important to say is that I loved it. Wasn't like I go, ⁓ my gosh, I have to worship again, I have to sing again, or ⁓ my gosh, I have to do this again. And so when God called me to lead a creative movement in 2002 through a prophetic word, I had all of this history like David had with shepherding to get me to where I can now help you grow and lead you in your journey as well. So my question to you is what comes naturally to you, like what happened in my life? And what do people consistently affirm in you? So I would say every single person who knows me well would say, Teresa, you are such an encourager. Teresa, I you gave me this prophetic word and this changed my life. I I have this prophetic encouraging gift to unlock people that just flows from me that people recognize. And so that's what we'll do is we'll help you to recognize. What your metron is, what that thing is that you're called to be in the Leadership Academy and in Arcasium Thrive Life. So the point the second point, the first point was God gives you clues before He gives you assignments. The second clue, ⁓ and the second point is your holy fascinations are often destiny clues. So a holy fascination is something you can't stop thinking about. ⁓ consider the person Moses, like. He he long before he was leading Israel, he was deeply troubled by injustice. So we see him where he kills this Egyptian who is beating up this Israelite. And so, you know, this was important because this was his destiny to set people free. So when he saw oppression, something inside him couldn't ignore it. I am gonna get this guy. ⁓ and his burden revealed his calling. Now he ran away because he was being chased, but for 40 years, God was still sewing things in his life as far as what he was called to be, and that his burden was in his calling. So, questions for you guys out there. ⁓ what breaks your heart? We talked a little bit about that, but what breaks your heart for me? When I see the identity of children being robbed, there's something inside of me that goes beep, beep, beep. When I see what happens in Muslim countries with women who who don't have can't own anything and that are ⁓ look like they're worse than cattle, I go beep, beep. Yeah, there's something inside of me that goes, I want to write that wrong. And so what breaks your heart? Is it children? Is it people not being able to be creative or have a voice, like in different countries with women? Is it healing? When you when you see about when you go after healing, it's like you just gravitate toward that, like in my course, create to be free. You just gravitate toward that. Is it justice issues like we talked about with Moses? Is it worship? Does that make you come alive? You know, I I led worship and the creatives. at Buffalo for 19 years. I mean, that's all part of that's why the art movement started in such a huge way that went across the world. And so is it family restoration? Is it business? So write that down now. That that's part of your your assignment is to look at, okay, your your second point is let's look at the holy fascinations that are often destiny clues for you, decoding that. Okay, and then number three, point three, is creative passions are often divine invitations. So these creative passions that you have, they're often divine invitations. So when I came to Bethel and there wasn't anything happening with like the art on stage, it it was just basically not at all prophetic. It was it was just some swirls of paint. There wasn't any movement happening. And so when I took it over, I began to introduce in our school of ministry and then to but to Bethel on the power of prophesying, the power of healing through creativity and art. Because I saw so many people get touched. That's why there's art and dance and music, worship in the healing rooms at Bethel and across so many other platforms. So so many people They ⁓ believers they dismiss creativity as a hobby. How many of you have heard that? ⁓ that's just a hobby. No, no, no. Bezalel in Exodus 31, think about what he crafted to create the Ark of the Covenant. No, no, it's it's a direct tie to what the presence of God wants you to create. ⁓ God frequently uses creative passion to reveal destiny. ⁓ Bezalel, like we talked about in ⁓ Exodus 31. He was one of the first people described in scripture as being filled with the Holy Spirit in Exodus 31. So art and creativity, it's not, it's not just to preach, but it's to reveal his goodness, his beauty, his nature. I guarantee you, and I'm smiling right now, because I know that almost everyone who will be listening and sharing this podcast has gone to an art museum. has gone to ⁓ of ⁓ of the like you know the natural history ⁓ museums and they've seen the artifacts they've seen the the art they've seen the sculpting works because it represents what the people valued and so that's what's so cool is like we're called to create that's part of the nature of civilization and art is the signature of civilization. And so your art is meant to transform history, but it's now Christ in you, the hope of glory. So when God filled like Bezalel, he had artistic skill, he had anointing, other people joined him like a holia. ⁓ there was creative wisdom that flowed, there was design that happened. So his creativity became his worship. We see that with David in the Psalms. When he played, he got so many other people involved in that, so that worship could be a part of the intercession and the part of glorifying God. So the thing that energizes you may not be distractions from your purpose. They may be the doorway into it. So the things that energize you may not be distractions from your purpose, but they may be the doorway into it. Little did I know that my love for the theatrical parts of when I would see musicals would lead me into doing schools of creativity with music, with art, with dramatic presentations, with fashion shows, that that would lead me into awakening the whole body of Christ to who they are and what they're called to be. This is your moment, people. Family of God, do not ignore those promptings. Okay, point four, we're moving on, is God uses your story even the difficult parts. Can I get an amen out there? I'll never forget. And I've shared this story when I fell on the ice and I cracked my head open, and I'm not an Olympic hopeful. Ha ha ha. Just skating with my with my daughter and friends and ⁓ and fell. And I was in the hospital. I had to have immediate brain surgery. And I remember this this chaplain coming and looking at me and said, Can I pray for you? And I thought, bingo, that's what I want to do. When I get out of here, when God heals me, I want to go into hospitals and reach out to people because I know what it's like to be helpless and to look like Frankenstein's wife, which I did look like, I guarantee you. You know, head half shaved, staples all going down one side. A black guy that stayed there for three months, like I understand what a person goes through that that gets hurt and doesn't know what to do in the hospital. So because of that, I prayed for my hospitals in Redding. And I was able to get into these hospitals, these rehab places as well, and bring in art and music restoration like teams every week. To see people get transformed. So even in the difficult parts, God can help you to understand that that's part of your decoding your purpose. So many ⁓ many people think their purpose begins after healing. No, it begins in that process. Often God uses the very places where we've struggled. Example, Joseph. Right, what happened to Joseph? ⁓ my gosh, he was rejected. He had that a dream, which he didn't really tell his his brothers in the right way, right? But they already were jealous of him and of the coat of many colors and how really how how he was treated above them. And so they already had this thing within their hearts that they that they were against him. So they rejected him. They they sold him. ⁓ he was betrayed by Potiphar's wife when he got there. He he was in slavery, he was imprisoned. Yet every painful chapter became preparation for him to be the next next to Pharaoh, the ruler of all of Egypt and save his people. So the very wounds that could have disqualified him became part of his leadership story. So let's ask these questions right now. What have I overcome? I want you to think about. I shared about my story. And what lessons has God taught me because of that? And what pain have I seen him redeem? What are those things that he's redeeming in my life because of that? So often your ministry flows from the places where God has healed you. Let me say that again. Often Your ministry flows from the places where God has healed you. So take a moment. And I want I want you to take some time with the Lord this week. And I want you to say, Lord, I have these wounds because of this. And it could be anything that happened to you or something that you did yourself. And say, Lord, how can this be a part of my story to redeem? And who could I touch? How can I pray that you use my story? Thank you, Father. You know, one one of the parts that happened from my story of when I fell is that I also received from the Holy Spirit, because of my upbringing, I I received like this calling to heal the brokenhearted. Cause my dad was ⁓ he had a he had a manic depressive disorder. And so we really went through a lot in our family and I went through a lot of issues because of what happened to him when he was young. And ⁓ and so that really set the course for me to get my psychology degree, which set the course for me to get my art and healing certificate, which you know when I did my create to be free, which is in my KCM Thrive Life, which you can look at. That's ⁓ another wonderful thing about what I've done is I've used that story To create my create to be free, my art in healing course, which you can buy on TeresaDebman.com, or if you wanted to join our KCM Thrive Life and my membership, we have a special and I want you to get this as KCM Triple10. And we have an informational meeting on that also the second week of July on Tuesday. So you can check that out on TeresaDemon.com. So my la my last point is. What makes you come alive? Esther. Esther had gifts of influence. She was young. She had courage. She has wisdom. She had favor. She had an amazing ⁓ mentor in her uncle, and who was helping her Mordecai through everything that was going on in her life. And at the right moment, those gifts intersected with the kingdom need. So purpose happens, often happens where passion. Giftedness, God's timing, and human need meet together. Let me say that again. When passion, giftedness, God's timing. And again, a Mordecai, a person who's going to disciple you like her uncle, and human need meet together, you're going to see that. Frederick Buchner ⁓ has has a famous quote. The place God calls you to is the place where you where your deep gladness and the world's deep hunger meet. Let me say that again. The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world's deep hunger meet. And that's what we want for you in our KCM Thrive Life in Membership. So here are some questions for you and our closing statement ⁓ of this podcast. ⁓ and you can journal on these. What did I love doing as a child before fear, criticism, or comparison entered the picture? Just take a moment this week and write it down. Number, number two, what makes me lose track of time? Okay, I could paint and I could just lose track of time all I mean all I mean all the time. And what activities bring life and energy? Do you get more energized after you do it? And what burdens, number three, are on my heart? Like we talked about with Moses. What problems do I continually want to solve? Okay. Number four, what do others consistently thank me for? Often others recognize our gifts before we do. So ask people. And number five, if I couldn't fail, what would I attempt with God? If I if I couldn't fail, what would I attempt with God? So here's my closing thoughts. God is not asking you to become someone else. Ha ha ha. He's inviting you to discover to decode the person he has already designed, which is you. Your destiny is hidden in the way he formed you. Who you are, what you love, your passions. And your passions are clues. That's the decoding device. Your story is a clue. Your creative desires are clues. The question is not what should I become? The question is, what did God create me to be and how can I fully become that person? So let me let me pray for you now. Has this been good, everybody? So, Father, help us to see ourselves through your eyes. Reveal the gifts, the passions, and the desires you planted within each and every person. Give everyone wisdom to recognize the clues that are woven in their lives. Remove fear, comparison, confusion, and help us embrace the unique creative destiny that you have prepared for each and everyone in Jesus' name. So this is your time, guys. This is your moment in history. This is this is a time right now, today, as I'm speaking to you. where you're starting to get it, that there are clues that God hasn't left you high and dry. He but he's given you these clues, these passions, because expect miracles. Expect God to come right now upon you and begin to show you all the goodness, even through the difficult times about what you've gone through, that's leading you to decode who God has called you to be. There's nothing like the power of Jesus. To help us to understand he wants to reveal his heart to you right now and he wants you to discover who you are. This is God's heart for you. How many of you have been encouraged today? Let us know in this and share this with others. How many of you know that we we have part four parts? So this is so there's two more after this. ⁓ so check it out. I'll be with you next week and we'll go to into part three.
