00:00:00.479 --> 00:00:03.279
Welcome to the Ignite Your Flame podcast.
00:00:03.439 --> 00:00:05.839
Hi, I'm your host, Randy Powell.
00:00:06.320 --> 00:00:14.080
This podcast is about using the science of emotional intelligence to develop a higher representation of your potential.
00:00:14.320 --> 00:00:28.960
If you have ever hit a roadblock in your personal growth and felt stuck, the insights from this podcast can really open your eyes and wake you up to a whole new way of envisioning and developing your potential.
00:00:29.199 --> 00:00:30.640
Let's get started.
00:00:37.840 --> 00:00:40.159
How do you approach that storm?
00:00:41.280 --> 00:00:43.359
Do you have the courage to face it?
00:00:43.520 --> 00:00:45.679
Do you have the fear that backs off?
00:00:45.920 --> 00:00:46.880
How do you do it?
00:00:47.039 --> 00:00:48.000
Do you have the discipline?
00:00:48.159 --> 00:00:51.039
Do you have the ability to calm yourself down?
00:00:51.200 --> 00:00:52.320
All these things.
00:00:52.560 --> 00:01:02.320
Because ultimately, when that storm of life comes at you, that challenging moment, what you're really looking at, your response to it, is something that's habitual.
00:01:02.479 --> 00:01:10.560
Your brain actually set out and built a pattern for you to trigger to when you hit that kind of storm.
00:01:10.799 --> 00:01:12.879
And it becomes a life pattern.
00:01:13.040 --> 00:01:14.079
That's the deal.
00:01:14.319 --> 00:01:16.239
And we would not even see it.
00:01:16.400 --> 00:01:22.719
We would not see that it was there in operation because it's so calm, it's so ubiquitous.
00:01:23.040 --> 00:01:33.200
You just see through air and you don't see the pattern shaping you, guiding you about how you're going to respond to that storm.
00:01:33.439 --> 00:01:33.760
Okay?
00:01:34.079 --> 00:01:35.519
Let me give you an example.
00:01:35.760 --> 00:01:50.000
A client of mine grew up in a Chinese family, and it just so happens that in that culture, friends would come over, relatives would come over, and on a red day, they would give the kid an envelop full of money.
00:01:50.159 --> 00:01:56.000
And then the kid, my client, would give it to the parents for safekeeping that he would want to get it one time.
00:01:56.079 --> 00:01:58.640
He was really into being able to save and stuff like that.
00:01:58.799 --> 00:02:00.480
And it went on for a number of years.
00:02:00.640 --> 00:02:07.680
And then one day, about the time he was 19 years old, he decided it was time for he it was time to get that money.
00:02:07.760 --> 00:02:09.360
He needed a car and stuff like that.
00:02:09.599 --> 00:02:12.560
And then they said, Well, I'm sorry, it's not here.
00:02:13.439 --> 00:02:14.240
It's gone.
00:02:14.400 --> 00:02:18.159
We used it to pay mortgages and rents and stuff like that.
00:02:18.479 --> 00:02:22.639
And the only thing you can do about it is work harder.
00:02:23.280 --> 00:02:23.599
Okay?
00:02:24.240 --> 00:02:31.439
Now, that structure of how parents are and families are within a Chinese culture is something very strong.
00:02:31.599 --> 00:02:36.960
You know, it's not the kid did not really have permission to confront his mom and dad.
00:02:37.120 --> 00:02:39.199
That just would have never worked out.
00:02:39.439 --> 00:02:41.680
So he grows up and he learns a lesson.
00:02:41.840 --> 00:02:47.759
He doesn't realize he's learning this lesson, that you have to be careful about who you trust.
00:02:47.919 --> 00:02:52.319
You can give them stuff, and at some moment they're going to take it from you.
00:02:52.719 --> 00:02:55.199
And they're not going to apologize.
00:02:55.360 --> 00:02:58.879
And the only thing that you can do is work harder to get it over.
00:02:59.120 --> 00:03:00.719
Now he's done that.
00:03:01.120 --> 00:03:06.240
He's actually got a very successful business that he runs, and he has other things that he does.
00:03:06.319 --> 00:03:18.400
But what he does is, Randy, what I really end up doing is I will always get myself in a situation where I extend myself, and all of a sudden I feel I find that the people that I trusted, they weren't trustworthy.
00:03:18.479 --> 00:03:24.800
And before I know it, that money's gone, and I can only work harder to get it.
00:03:24.879 --> 00:03:27.599
And if you take a look at his life, that's what he's done.
00:03:27.759 --> 00:03:29.199
He's worked hard.
00:03:29.520 --> 00:03:29.840
Okay?
00:03:30.240 --> 00:03:37.840
And every time he built that stuff up, something would happen, some bad luck would happen, it would be gone, and he had to work harder.
00:03:38.080 --> 00:03:39.520
Do you see the pattern?
00:03:40.639 --> 00:03:42.159
Do you see the pattern?
00:03:42.879 --> 00:03:44.639
He just thought this was his life.
00:03:44.800 --> 00:04:00.960
It was quite an event for him to realize that, no, this isn't, this is an adaptive brain creating a life pattern for you to live in because at one time that allowed him to survive in this system, in this environment that he was in.
00:04:01.120 --> 00:04:04.560
That was just the way it was in that particular family system.
00:04:04.879 --> 00:04:10.719
He grows up, but now he's projecting that onto the all sorts of stuff in his life.
00:04:10.960 --> 00:04:13.039
This is the emotional pattern.
00:04:13.439 --> 00:04:27.680
And remember, the big deal is this your brain's job is to create pattern, emotional pattern, that allows you to be able to survive short term in an environment.
00:04:27.839 --> 00:04:32.160
It's not thinking about the years to come, it's thinking about right now.
00:04:32.720 --> 00:04:35.920
That's what that very primitive brain was built to do.
00:04:36.160 --> 00:04:43.439
And what I'm asking you to do is to begin to take a look at what happens to you in particular places.
00:04:43.519 --> 00:04:50.480
What are the patterns that keep repeating, keep repeating, keep repeating, that you've really never examined?
00:04:51.040 --> 00:04:51.360
Okay.
00:04:52.639 --> 00:05:03.519
For me, it was it was a situation about money where I grew up in a family that had lost wealth the generation before me, and we blamed another family for it.
00:05:03.759 --> 00:05:16.480
The truth is, my grandfather died, and his wife, my grandmother, inherited a fortune, and she didn't know have any idea how to manage that and the stuff that required to do it.
00:05:16.720 --> 00:05:21.120
And eventually she just got sucked dry and the money disappeared.
00:05:21.439 --> 00:05:27.120
But my family always didn't blame us, they blamed somebody else.
00:05:27.279 --> 00:05:28.720
We stayed stuck in that.
00:05:28.959 --> 00:05:32.240
Now, how does that work for me?
00:05:32.720 --> 00:05:38.160
As an adult, what I would do is I was always in a situation of trying to get the money back.
00:05:38.319 --> 00:05:48.079
You know, whether or not it was a broken deal or whatever, I was still following that pattern of having lost money and having to go find and take that money back.
00:05:48.240 --> 00:05:52.560
I didn't, it didn't even occur to me to create wealth.
00:05:52.879 --> 00:05:56.800
I was locked into a pattern that was building my life.
00:05:57.120 --> 00:06:04.240
And at the same time, you're going, oh God, it's building it, not in a particular healthy way, one that's for you.
00:06:04.480 --> 00:06:05.839
And this is what we want to look at.
00:06:06.000 --> 00:06:12.160
We want to take a look at the patterns that define you, that are creating you, because my friends, I want to tell you something.
00:06:12.480 --> 00:06:15.279
You don't have these patterns.
00:06:15.600 --> 00:06:21.439
These patterns, historical in nature, have you and are creating your destiny.
00:06:22.160 --> 00:06:27.439
This is how important they are to be able to locate the ones that's hard to see.
00:06:28.240 --> 00:06:31.199
That just simply sit there and go, you know something?
00:06:31.360 --> 00:06:32.480
I don't see anything.
00:06:32.639 --> 00:06:36.000
I don't know why this keeps happening to me, but it keeps happening.
00:06:36.079 --> 00:06:37.759
Why does this happen to me?
00:06:38.079 --> 00:06:40.959
This guy took on the role kind of like a victim.
00:06:41.040 --> 00:06:42.399
He finally said, you know something?
00:06:42.480 --> 00:06:44.160
This just is my lot in life.
00:06:44.240 --> 00:06:48.079
This is, yeah, I'll make a lot of money, I'll be in really good business and stuff like that.
00:06:48.240 --> 00:06:50.959
But what I know is that this is kind of my lot in life.
00:06:51.120 --> 00:06:52.079
These things kind of happen.
00:06:52.319 --> 00:06:58.399
I can get close to the edge, but I go over it and it sabotages, and then I have to work even harder.
00:06:58.959 --> 00:07:01.839
Now, the key is what's your pattern?
00:07:02.240 --> 00:07:08.879
And ultimately, understand this the emotion is the king here.
00:07:09.199 --> 00:07:12.399
Strong can just bust through anything.
00:07:12.720 --> 00:07:29.519
Now, the engineer driving that locomotive are the beliefs that you hold about your ability to create life and to move forward in life, how you meet the challenges, meet the storms of life.
00:07:29.839 --> 00:07:33.759
The thinking brain is the little caboose at the end of the train.
00:07:34.879 --> 00:07:36.319
Highly overrated.
00:07:36.720 --> 00:07:37.040
Okay?
00:07:38.399 --> 00:07:46.079
Believe me, the deal is this as your thinking brain serves your emotional brain.
00:07:46.560 --> 00:07:58.399
And unless you can get that, what happens is you can't see it because the pattern is so thick around you that you have to wake up and see beyond it first.
00:07:58.639 --> 00:08:00.720
And that's what a lot of this work is about.
00:08:00.800 --> 00:08:07.040
That's what in chapter two of this book that this is a part of, that's really what's happening.
00:08:07.120 --> 00:08:12.959
You're looking there and saying, okay, how do I go about beginning to see and to recognize how this works?
00:08:13.120 --> 00:08:16.560
Because that locomotive, it's strong.
00:08:16.800 --> 00:08:22.000
If something gets in its way, it's going to blow it up unless you learn how to deconstruct it.
00:08:22.240 --> 00:08:41.360
And to go in and start finding at the very bottom, very bottom of that emotion are the beliefs that you hold about your ability to be able to engage the storms of life and come out well.
00:08:42.320 --> 00:08:43.759
That's what we're looking for.
00:08:44.159 --> 00:08:45.200
That's what we're looking for.
00:08:45.279 --> 00:08:50.879
And at the bottom of that, that belief, this guy that I was telling you about, he didn't know they were there.
00:08:51.279 --> 00:08:59.600
It was only in an act of discovery when we started really examining the stuckness of these patterns that he notice it.
00:08:59.840 --> 00:09:04.080
Now, to a lot of people, he would be considered very, very successful.
00:09:04.399 --> 00:09:10.639
He has a thriving business, he can do a lot of things, they live well, all that.
00:09:10.799 --> 00:09:22.320
But he also knows that he's at a threshold moment, that he can move beyond that if he finds out what's the belief that's holding him back from what he could be.
00:09:22.559 --> 00:09:27.440
And what we really want to do here is to say, well, what are the beliefs that hold you back?
00:09:27.759 --> 00:09:38.000
Because at the bottom of that deep pattern that keeps happening and keeps moving through your life is a belief themselves as a conquering hero, all sorts of things.
00:09:38.080 --> 00:09:44.480
But the thing they get locked into a pattern that limits them as a possibility.
00:09:44.799 --> 00:09:46.480
Their potential shrinks.
00:09:46.639 --> 00:09:49.759
And now what we're saying is spot it.
00:09:50.000 --> 00:09:53.360
Because ultimately you can change that.
00:09:53.519 --> 00:10:00.720
You can actually start when you apply the power of compassion to that particular pattern.
00:10:00.960 --> 00:10:03.360
Remember, it's there because it was successful.
00:10:04.639 --> 00:10:16.799
Compassion is the only emotional state that can take can take a network and to be able to tease it apart and rebuild that neural network into higher functioning.
00:10:17.200 --> 00:10:22.879
At the same time, to do that, you're going to have to have courage because you're going to go outside of your comfort zone.
00:10:23.120 --> 00:10:33.919
To do that, you're going to have to be disciplined to maintain order because you're not going to necessarily want to do the work of getting in and finding the emotional pattern.
00:10:34.080 --> 00:10:37.519
And then you have to do the heavy lifting of changing it.
00:10:37.840 --> 00:10:38.159
Okay?
00:10:38.559 --> 00:10:44.159
This is why it's so much easier just to feel like you can just do some energy work and everything's great.
00:10:45.039 --> 00:10:47.279
The belief and the pattern remain.
00:10:47.440 --> 00:10:55.519
And they come back to rewrite that pattern and have it establish itself all over again, and there you are.
00:10:55.759 --> 00:11:05.120
That's why smoking cessation programs really work based on hypnosis, is that you finally work through the pattern, the pattern takes hole again, and there you are.
00:11:05.360 --> 00:11:07.279
Same thing with eating and diets.
00:11:07.679 --> 00:11:25.120
What we're doing, though, is saying we want to dig down and find out what the solution was so that you for the first time see that the brain has created a solution, not because it was the right one or the best one, because it found the solution, it locked it in.
00:11:25.279 --> 00:11:30.559
And once it got locked in, the pattern locked in and it started creating your life.
00:11:30.799 --> 00:11:38.000
Now we're saying, find the pattern, look for it as we move through this book, as we move through your life.
00:11:38.240 --> 00:11:41.600
And to say, I know that I'm gonna have to have the compassion.
00:11:41.759 --> 00:11:42.799
That's the key element.
00:11:42.960 --> 00:11:46.000
I know that I'm gonna have to have the courage to the heavy lifting.
00:11:46.080 --> 00:11:53.039
I know that I'm gonna have to have the discipline to maintain order of myself, so I'll do what's best for me in the long-term interests.
00:11:53.360 --> 00:11:53.679
Okay.
00:11:54.720 --> 00:11:58.799
To do that though, you're also gonna have to have clarity of thought.
00:11:59.039 --> 00:12:07.679
Okay, you're gonna have to have a sage-like quality of being able to see beyond the short term and begin to say, this is what I would like it to look like in the long term.
00:12:07.840 --> 00:12:09.440
This would produce thriving.
00:12:09.600 --> 00:12:14.159
This would produce the breakthrough from survival into thriving.
00:12:14.799 --> 00:12:26.320
Friends, read more, take a look at more of the videos, read the book, and really think about how I can become captain of own destiny?
00:12:26.799 --> 00:12:28.879
Because that's really what we're talking about.
00:12:29.360 --> 00:12:35.840
Is that you can wake up that part of yourself and you can become the captain of your own destiny.
00:12:36.080 --> 00:12:39.200
Friends, I welcome you on this journey.
00:00:00.479 --> 00:00:03.279
Welcome to the Ignite Your Flame podcast.
00:00:03.439 --> 00:00:05.839
Hi, I'm your host, Randy Powell.
00:00:06.320 --> 00:00:14.080
This podcast is about using the science of emotional intelligence to develop a higher representation of your potential.
00:00:14.320 --> 00:00:28.960
If you have ever hit a roadblock in your personal growth and felt stuck, the insights from this podcast can really open your eyes and wake you up to a whole new way of envisioning and developing your potential.
00:00:29.199 --> 00:00:30.640
Let's get started.
00:00:37.840 --> 00:00:40.159
How do you approach that storm?
00:00:41.280 --> 00:00:43.359
Do you have the courage to face it?
00:00:43.520 --> 00:00:45.679
Do you have the fear that backs off?
00:00:45.920 --> 00:00:46.880
How do you do it?
00:00:47.039 --> 00:00:48.000
Do you have the discipline?
00:00:48.159 --> 00:00:51.039
Do you have the ability to calm yourself down?
00:00:51.200 --> 00:00:52.320
All these things.
00:00:52.560 --> 00:01:02.320
Because ultimately, when that storm of life comes at you, that challenging moment, what you're really looking at, your response to it, is something that's habitual.
00:01:02.479 --> 00:01:10.560
Your brain actually set out and built a pattern for you to trigger to when you hit that kind of storm.
00:01:10.799 --> 00:01:12.879
And it becomes a life pattern.
00:01:13.040 --> 00:01:14.079
That's the deal.
00:01:14.319 --> 00:01:16.239
And we would not even see it.
00:01:16.400 --> 00:01:22.719
We would not see that it was there in operation because it's so calm, it's so ubiquitous.
00:01:23.040 --> 00:01:33.200
You just see through air and you don't see the pattern shaping you, guiding you about how you're going to respond to that storm.
00:01:33.439 --> 00:01:33.760
Okay?
00:01:34.079 --> 00:01:35.519
Let me give you an example.
00:01:35.760 --> 00:01:50.000
A client of mine grew up in a Chinese family, and it just so happens that in that culture, friends would come over, relatives would come over, and on a red day, they would give the kid an envelop full of money.
00:01:50.159 --> 00:01:56.000
And then the kid, my client, would give it to the parents for safekeeping that he would want to get it one time.
00:01:56.079 --> 00:01:58.640
He was really into being able to save and stuff like that.
00:01:58.799 --> 00:02:00.480
And it went on for a number of years.
00:02:00.640 --> 00:02:07.680
And then one day, about the time he was 19 years old, he decided it was time for he it was time to get that money.
00:02:07.760 --> 00:02:09.360
He needed a car and stuff like that.
00:02:09.599 --> 00:02:12.560
And then they said, Well, I'm sorry, it's not here.
00:02:13.439 --> 00:02:14.240
It's gone.
00:02:14.400 --> 00:02:18.159
We used it to pay mortgages and rents and stuff like that.
00:02:18.479 --> 00:02:22.639
And the only thing you can do about it is work harder.
00:02:23.280 --> 00:02:23.599
Okay?
00:02:24.240 --> 00:02:31.439
Now, that structure of how parents are and families are within a Chinese culture is something very strong.
00:02:31.599 --> 00:02:36.960
You know, it's not the kid did not really have permission to confront his mom and dad.
00:02:37.120 --> 00:02:39.199
That just would have never worked out.
00:02:39.439 --> 00:02:41.680
So he grows up and he learns a lesson.
00:02:41.840 --> 00:02:47.759
He doesn't realize he's learning this lesson, that you have to be careful about who you trust.
00:02:47.919 --> 00:02:52.319
You can give them stuff, and at some moment they're going to take it from you.
00:02:52.719 --> 00:02:55.199
And they're not going to apologize.
00:02:55.360 --> 00:02:58.879
And the only thing that you can do is work harder to get it over.
00:02:59.120 --> 00:03:00.719
Now he's done that.
00:03:01.120 --> 00:03:06.240
He's actually got a very successful business that he runs, and he has other things that he does.
00:03:06.319 --> 00:03:18.400
But what he does is, Randy, what I really end up doing is I will always get myself in a situation where I extend myself, and all of a sudden I feel I find that the people that I trusted, they weren't trustworthy.
00:03:18.479 --> 00:03:24.800
And before I know it, that money's gone, and I can only work harder to get it.
00:03:24.879 --> 00:03:27.599
And if you take a look at his life, that's what he's done.
00:03:27.759 --> 00:03:29.199
He's worked hard.
00:03:29.520 --> 00:03:29.840
Okay?
00:03:30.240 --> 00:03:37.840
And every time he built that stuff up, something would happen, some bad luck would happen, it would be gone, and he had to work harder.
00:03:38.080 --> 00:03:39.520
Do you see the pattern?
00:03:40.639 --> 00:03:42.159
Do you see the pattern?
00:03:42.879 --> 00:03:44.639
He just thought this was his life.
00:03:44.800 --> 00:04:00.960
It was quite an event for him to realize that, no, this isn't, this is an adaptive brain creating a life pattern for you to live in because at one time that allowed him to survive in this system, in this environment that he was in.
00:04:01.120 --> 00:04:04.560
That was just the way it was in that particular family system.
00:04:04.879 --> 00:04:10.719
He grows up, but now he's projecting that onto the all sorts of stuff in his life.
00:04:10.960 --> 00:04:13.039
This is the emotional pattern.
00:04:13.439 --> 00:04:27.680
And remember, the big deal is this your brain's job is to create pattern, emotional pattern, that allows you to be able to survive short term in an environment.
00:04:27.839 --> 00:04:32.160
It's not thinking about the years to come, it's thinking about right now.
00:04:32.720 --> 00:04:35.920
That's what that very primitive brain was built to do.
00:04:36.160 --> 00:04:43.439
And what I'm asking you to do is to begin to take a look at what happens to you in particular places.
00:04:43.519 --> 00:04:50.480
What are the patterns that keep repeating, keep repeating, keep repeating, that you've really never examined?
00:04:51.040 --> 00:04:51.360
Okay.
00:04:52.639 --> 00:05:03.519
For me, it was it was a situation about money where I grew up in a family that had lost wealth the generation before me, and we blamed another family for it.
00:05:03.759 --> 00:05:16.480
The truth is, my grandfather died, and his wife, my grandmother, inherited a fortune, and she didn't know have any idea how to manage that and the stuff that required to do it.
00:05:16.720 --> 00:05:21.120
And eventually she just got sucked dry and the money disappeared.
00:05:21.439 --> 00:05:27.120
But my family always didn't blame us, they blamed somebody else.
00:05:27.279 --> 00:05:28.720
We stayed stuck in that.
00:05:28.959 --> 00:05:32.240
Now, how does that work for me?
00:05:32.720 --> 00:05:38.160
As an adult, what I would do is I was always in a situation of trying to get the money back.
00:05:38.319 --> 00:05:48.079
You know, whether or not it was a broken deal or whatever, I was still following that pattern of having lost money and having to go find and take that money back.
00:05:48.240 --> 00:05:52.560
I didn't, it didn't even occur to me to create wealth.
00:05:52.879 --> 00:05:56.800
I was locked into a pattern that was building my life.
00:05:57.120 --> 00:06:04.240
And at the same time, you're going, oh God, it's building it, not in a particular healthy way, one that's for you.
00:06:04.480 --> 00:06:05.839
And this is what we want to look at.
00:06:06.000 --> 00:06:12.160
We want to take a look at the patterns that define you, that are creating you, because my friends, I want to tell you something.
00:06:12.480 --> 00:06:15.279
You don't have these patterns.
00:06:15.600 --> 00:06:21.439
These patterns, historical in nature, have you and are creating your destiny.
00:06:22.160 --> 00:06:27.439
This is how important they are to be able to locate the ones that's hard to see.
00:06:28.240 --> 00:06:31.199
That just simply sit there and go, you know something?
00:06:31.360 --> 00:06:32.480
I don't see anything.
00:06:32.639 --> 00:06:36.000
I don't know why this keeps happening to me, but it keeps happening.
00:06:36.079 --> 00:06:37.759
Why does this happen to me?
00:06:38.079 --> 00:06:40.959
This guy took on the role kind of like a victim.
00:06:41.040 --> 00:06:42.399
He finally said, you know something?
00:06:42.480 --> 00:06:44.160
This just is my lot in life.
00:06:44.240 --> 00:06:48.079
This is, yeah, I'll make a lot of money, I'll be in really good business and stuff like that.
00:06:48.240 --> 00:06:50.959
But what I know is that this is kind of my lot in life.
00:06:51.120 --> 00:06:52.079
These things kind of happen.
00:06:52.319 --> 00:06:58.399
I can get close to the edge, but I go over it and it sabotages, and then I have to work even harder.
00:06:58.959 --> 00:07:01.839
Now, the key is what's your pattern?
00:07:02.240 --> 00:07:08.879
And ultimately, understand this the emotion is the king here.
00:07:09.199 --> 00:07:12.399
Strong can just bust through anything.
00:07:12.720 --> 00:07:29.519
Now, the engineer driving that locomotive are the beliefs that you hold about your ability to create life and to move forward in life, how you meet the challenges, meet the storms of life.
00:07:29.839 --> 00:07:33.759
The thinking brain is the little caboose at the end of the train.
00:07:34.879 --> 00:07:36.319
Highly overrated.
00:07:36.720 --> 00:07:37.040
Okay?
00:07:38.399 --> 00:07:46.079
Believe me, the deal is this as your thinking brain serves your emotional brain.
00:07:46.560 --> 00:07:58.399
And unless you can get that, what happens is you can't see it because the pattern is so thick around you that you have to wake up and see beyond it first.
00:07:58.639 --> 00:08:00.720
And that's what a lot of this work is about.
00:08:00.800 --> 00:08:07.040
That's what in chapter two of this book that this is a part of, that's really what's happening.
00:08:07.120 --> 00:08:12.959
You're looking there and saying, okay, how do I go about beginning to see and to recognize how this works?
00:08:13.120 --> 00:08:16.560
Because that locomotive, it's strong.
00:08:16.800 --> 00:08:22.000
If something gets in its way, it's going to blow it up unless you learn how to deconstruct it.
00:08:22.240 --> 00:08:41.360
And to go in and start finding at the very bottom, very bottom of that emotion are the beliefs that you hold about your ability to be able to engage the storms of life and come out well.
00:08:42.320 --> 00:08:43.759
That's what we're looking for.
00:08:44.159 --> 00:08:45.200
That's what we're looking for.
00:08:45.279 --> 00:08:50.879
And at the bottom of that, that belief, this guy that I was telling you about, he didn't know they were there.
00:08:51.279 --> 00:08:59.600
It was only in an act of discovery when we started really examining the stuckness of these patterns that he notice it.
00:08:59.840 --> 00:09:04.080
Now, to a lot of people, he would be considered very, very successful.
00:09:04.399 --> 00:09:10.639
He has a thriving business, he can do a lot of things, they live well, all that.
00:09:10.799 --> 00:09:22.320
But he also knows that he's at a threshold moment, that he can move beyond that if he finds out what's the belief that's holding him back from what he could be.
00:09:22.559 --> 00:09:27.440
And what we really want to do here is to say, well, what are the beliefs that hold you back?
00:09:27.759 --> 00:09:38.000
Because at the bottom of that deep pattern that keeps happening and keeps moving through your life is a belief themselves as a conquering hero, all sorts of things.
00:09:38.080 --> 00:09:44.480
But the thing they get locked into a pattern that limits them as a possibility.
00:09:44.799 --> 00:09:46.480
Their potential shrinks.
00:09:46.639 --> 00:09:49.759
And now what we're saying is spot it.
00:09:50.000 --> 00:09:53.360
Because ultimately you can change that.
00:09:53.519 --> 00:10:00.720
You can actually start when you apply the power of compassion to that particular pattern.
00:10:00.960 --> 00:10:03.360
Remember, it's there because it was successful.
00:10:04.639 --> 00:10:16.799
Compassion is the only emotional state that can take can take a network and to be able to tease it apart and rebuild that neural network into higher functioning.
00:10:17.200 --> 00:10:22.879
At the same time, to do that, you're going to have to have courage because you're going to go outside of your comfort zone.
00:10:23.120 --> 00:10:33.919
To do that, you're going to have to be disciplined to maintain order because you're not going to necessarily want to do the work of getting in and finding the emotional pattern.
00:10:34.080 --> 00:10:37.519
And then you have to do the heavy lifting of changing it.
00:10:37.840 --> 00:10:38.159
Okay?
00:10:38.559 --> 00:10:44.159
This is why it's so much easier just to feel like you can just do some energy work and everything's great.
00:10:45.039 --> 00:10:47.279
The belief and the pattern remain.
00:10:47.440 --> 00:10:55.519
And they come back to rewrite that pattern and have it establish itself all over again, and there you are.
00:10:55.759 --> 00:11:05.120
That's why smoking cessation programs really work based on hypnosis, is that you finally work through the pattern, the pattern takes hole again, and there you are.
00:11:05.360 --> 00:11:07.279
Same thing with eating and diets.
00:11:07.679 --> 00:11:25.120
What we're doing, though, is saying we want to dig down and find out what the solution was so that you for the first time see that the brain has created a solution, not because it was the right one or the best one, because it found the solution, it locked it in.
00:11:25.279 --> 00:11:30.559
And once it got locked in, the pattern locked in and it started creating your life.
00:11:30.799 --> 00:11:38.000
Now we're saying, find the pattern, look for it as we move through this book, as we move through your life.
00:11:38.240 --> 00:11:41.600
And to say, I know that I'm gonna have to have the compassion.
00:11:41.759 --> 00:11:42.799
That's the key element.
00:11:42.960 --> 00:11:46.000
I know that I'm gonna have to have the courage to the heavy lifting.
00:11:46.080 --> 00:11:53.039
I know that I'm gonna have to have the discipline to maintain order of myself, so I'll do what's best for me in the long-term interests.
00:11:53.360 --> 00:11:53.679
Okay.
00:11:54.720 --> 00:11:58.799
To do that though, you're also gonna have to have clarity of thought.
00:11:59.039 --> 00:12:07.679
Okay, you're gonna have to have a sage-like quality of being able to see beyond the short term and begin to say, this is what I would like it to look like in the long term.
00:12:07.840 --> 00:12:09.440
This would produce thriving.
00:12:09.600 --> 00:12:14.159
This would produce the breakthrough from survival into thriving.
00:12:14.799 --> 00:12:26.320
Friends, read more, take a look at more of the videos, read the book, and really think about how I can become captain of own destiny?
00:12:26.799 --> 00:12:28.879
Because that's really what we're talking about.
00:12:29.360 --> 00:12:35.840
Is that you can wake up that part of yourself and you can become the captain of your own destiny.
00:12:36.080 --> 00:12:39.200
Friends, I welcome you on this journey.
