Open Badges 3.0 and verifiable credentials offer an efficient way for educational institutions to issue traditional education documents, such as diplomas and transcripts, directly into a student’s personal digital wallet on their mobile device making them portable and easily verifiable. Assistant Executive Director of United School Administrators (USA) Kansas Jerry Henn joins us to share how USA Kansas are currently working on implementing this technology and how they see it benefitting their members. With 35 years of experience in the education field Jerry can share with us the problems schools face and specifically why he is so excited about these new systems. We’ll also speak with James Schulte, who attended 1EdTech Consortium’s Digital Credential Summit earlier this month in New Orleans. We’ll dig into the Open Badges 3.0 standard, the latest in adoption, and why so many colleges and Universities are turning to verifiable data for issuing learning achievements.
