In this episode, I walk through 5 steps to narrow down your list of goals for your kid(s) to pick one big goal that is important to you and your child.
- Define the goal (understand that a goal is a bundle of multiple different smaller skills)
- What are the prerequisite skills? What does your child need to be able to do or know?
- Where is my child today? What skills does he/she have?
- What are some natural ways we can incorporate skill practice in our home and homeschool?
- Reassess expectations
Note: This is not about IEP goals, but could be helpful in advocating for your child in that way.
