Trainspotting

1
00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:20,720
Hey folks and welcome back to another episode of Get Ricked, the only podcast anywhere in
2
00:00:20,720 --> 00:00:25,800
the world where two buds take turns recommending and reviewing some of their favorite pop culture
3
00:00:25,800 --> 00:00:28,520
hits, hidden gems, and oddities.
4
00:00:28,520 --> 00:00:35,280
I'm of course your host and resident silly boy Thor, joined today by my friend and cohost.
5
00:00:35,280 --> 00:00:40,360
He's a flash machine, he's gonna do another strip tease, it's Micah.
6
00:00:40,360 --> 00:00:42,040
What song is that?
7
00:00:42,040 --> 00:00:50,400
Here comes Johnny again.
8
00:00:50,400 --> 00:00:52,800
It's the opening song to this movie.
9
00:00:52,800 --> 00:00:53,800
Oh.
10
00:00:53,800 --> 00:00:57,160
It's an Iggy Pop song called Lust for Life.
11
00:00:57,160 --> 00:00:59,880
Oh, okay, I know nothing about Iggy Pop.
12
00:00:59,880 --> 00:01:03,200
Like absolutely nothing about Iggy Pop.
13
00:01:03,200 --> 00:01:07,440
So but I get the reference now as far as why that was in the beginning of the movie because
14
00:01:07,440 --> 00:01:12,720
there was the line about Iggy Pop in the film.
15
00:01:12,720 --> 00:01:19,520
Well, so Iggy Pop, he started with the Velvet Underground and then went on to do like kind
16
00:01:19,520 --> 00:01:21,800
of his own, was it the Velvet Underground?
17
00:01:21,800 --> 00:01:22,800
I don't know.
18
00:01:22,800 --> 00:01:32,400
I mean, he was kind of like Iggy Pop's music was kind of like the early, what eventually
19
00:01:32,400 --> 00:01:35,000
became like punk music.
20
00:01:35,000 --> 00:01:37,280
Okay.
21
00:01:37,280 --> 00:01:42,200
And so and although this film is not necessarily like a punk rock movie, it's not about punk
22
00:01:42,200 --> 00:01:43,200
rock.
23
00:01:43,200 --> 00:01:46,680
It's certainly kind of in that world, I think.
24
00:01:46,680 --> 00:01:48,560
So yeah.
25
00:01:48,560 --> 00:01:49,560
Huh.
26
00:01:49,560 --> 00:01:50,560
Okay.
27
00:01:50,560 --> 00:01:56,240
So so it makes sense that you don't necessarily know him, but he is kind of like, do you know
28
00:01:56,240 --> 00:01:57,400
what Iggy Pop looks like?
29
00:01:57,400 --> 00:01:58,400
Have you ever seen him?
30
00:01:58,400 --> 00:01:59,920
Are you familiar with any of his music?
31
00:01:59,920 --> 00:02:01,000
I just know the name.
32
00:02:01,000 --> 00:02:02,200
That's literally it for me.
33
00:02:02,200 --> 00:02:09,200
Yeah, yeah, no, he's definitely kind of like in that Bowie type of type of world where
34
00:02:09,200 --> 00:02:10,560
he's definitely used.
35
00:02:10,560 --> 00:02:11,560
He's a little bit odd.
36
00:02:11,560 --> 00:02:15,040
He was a big heroin addict for a long time.
37
00:02:15,040 --> 00:02:16,040
Okay.
38
00:02:16,040 --> 00:02:21,280
Which makes once again, makes sense why they were like heavily featured him in this like
39
00:02:21,280 --> 00:02:24,160
his music and like references to Iggy Pop.
40
00:02:24,160 --> 00:02:26,440
Yeah, I see that he is shirtless a lot.
41
00:02:26,440 --> 00:02:28,000
Yes, often shirtless.
42
00:02:28,000 --> 00:02:29,000
Okay.
43
00:02:29,000 --> 00:02:32,360
Yeah, I'm looking up some pictures of him now.
44
00:02:32,360 --> 00:02:36,680
Yeah, he's one of those kind of like cultural guys kind of similar to like Bowie or John
45
00:02:36,680 --> 00:02:42,160
Lennon or or somebody like that who like kind of lifestyle music.
46
00:02:42,160 --> 00:02:43,160
Okay.
47
00:02:43,160 --> 00:02:49,240
Where people kind of look at him as like a poet laureate of the punk like the punk scene
48
00:02:49,240 --> 00:02:50,240
and gotcha.
49
00:02:50,240 --> 00:02:51,240
Okay.
50
00:02:51,240 --> 00:02:52,240
All right.
51
00:02:52,240 --> 00:02:53,680
Maybe I'll have to look at into his music.
52
00:02:53,680 --> 00:02:54,680
I don't know.
53
00:02:54,680 --> 00:02:55,680
Maybe I'd like it.
54
00:02:55,680 --> 00:02:56,680
You may.
55
00:02:56,680 --> 00:02:57,680
Yeah, I don't know.
56
00:02:57,680 --> 00:02:59,920
Like I said, it's definitely certainly dated.
57
00:02:59,920 --> 00:03:00,920
I don't know.
58
00:03:00,920 --> 00:03:02,120
And I know you like people who sing well.
59
00:03:02,120 --> 00:03:05,280
I don't think he's a particularly like great singer.
60
00:03:05,280 --> 00:03:06,280
Okay.
61
00:03:06,280 --> 00:03:09,560
He's more of like he's more of like a more of like a performer.
62
00:03:09,560 --> 00:03:10,560
Okay.
63
00:03:10,560 --> 00:03:15,080
More of like a cult of personality as opposed to being like a and I think he's a good writer
64
00:03:15,080 --> 00:03:16,080
as well.
65
00:03:16,080 --> 00:03:20,000
But he's certainly not like the most talented singer.
66
00:03:20,000 --> 00:03:21,000
Okay.
67
00:03:21,000 --> 00:03:23,360
I think that's a fair way of saying it.
68
00:03:23,360 --> 00:03:24,360
Okay.
69
00:03:24,360 --> 00:03:25,360
All right.
70
00:03:25,360 --> 00:03:26,360
That's fair.
71
00:03:26,360 --> 00:03:27,360
Oh, yeah.
72
00:03:27,360 --> 00:03:28,360
I'm sorry.
73
00:03:28,360 --> 00:03:30,880
I've got to I've got to close this.
74
00:03:30,880 --> 00:03:33,800
It's just pictures of Iggy Pop shirtless.
75
00:03:33,800 --> 00:03:38,680
He has like a pretty popular I believe it's like his Instagram where he is like he has
76
00:03:38,680 --> 00:03:40,680
like a pet parrot.
77
00:03:40,680 --> 00:03:41,680
Oh, yeah.
78
00:03:41,680 --> 00:03:45,720
Like he's just hanging out with his parrot because he's like clean and sober now.
79
00:03:45,720 --> 00:03:47,800
He still looks like he's on heroin, though.
80
00:03:47,800 --> 00:03:48,800
I guess.
81
00:03:48,800 --> 00:03:50,600
I guess that just he should be dead.
82
00:03:50,600 --> 00:03:55,000
Honestly, if you look at him, they were like and you know, like the type of lifestyle he's
83
00:03:55,000 --> 00:03:57,440
lived, it's like he should be dead.
84
00:03:57,440 --> 00:03:58,560
But somehow he's not.
85
00:03:58,560 --> 00:04:00,600
He's a cockroach.
86
00:04:00,600 --> 00:04:01,600
That's impressive.
87
00:04:01,600 --> 00:04:04,000
But yeah, he has like a popular Instagram page.
88
00:04:04,000 --> 00:04:07,600
I think it is with like his parrot and pet parrot.
89
00:04:07,600 --> 00:04:14,400
I think Ashley keeps sending me these videos of a parrot on either Instagram or Snapchat.
90
00:04:14,400 --> 00:04:16,960
And it's.
91
00:04:16,960 --> 00:04:24,800
Whoever's parrot it is, she gets the parrot to say, making bacon pancakes just continuously
92
00:04:24,800 --> 00:04:25,960
to a beat.
93
00:04:25,960 --> 00:04:27,840
Making pancakes, making bacon pancakes.
94
00:04:27,840 --> 00:04:28,840
Exactly.
95
00:04:28,840 --> 00:04:29,840
Yeah.
96
00:04:29,840 --> 00:04:30,840
Make some bacon and you put it in.
97
00:04:30,840 --> 00:04:31,840
Do you know what that's from?
98
00:04:31,840 --> 00:04:32,840
I have no idea.
99
00:04:32,840 --> 00:04:33,840
Adventure Time.
100
00:04:33,840 --> 00:04:34,840
Oh, OK.
101
00:04:34,840 --> 00:04:35,840
Jake the dog sings.
102
00:04:35,840 --> 00:04:36,840
OK.
103
00:04:36,840 --> 00:04:37,840
And then you make pancakes.
104
00:04:37,840 --> 00:04:38,840
Well, I mean, that makes sense.
105
00:04:38,840 --> 00:04:40,640
Yeah, I get that.
106
00:04:40,640 --> 00:04:41,640
Yeah.
107
00:04:41,640 --> 00:04:44,440
So that's exactly what what the parrot's doing.
108
00:04:44,440 --> 00:04:46,440
And so it's just head bobbing while it's saying it.
109
00:04:46,440 --> 00:04:49,880
It's like making pancakes, making pancakes.
110
00:04:49,880 --> 00:04:52,840
Do parrots weird me out?
111
00:04:52,840 --> 00:04:54,360
Oh, yeah.
112
00:04:54,360 --> 00:04:55,360
Yeah.
113
00:04:55,360 --> 00:04:56,360
I don't like that.
114
00:04:56,360 --> 00:04:58,280
They just mimic noises.
115
00:04:58,280 --> 00:04:59,560
It makes me uncomfortable.
116
00:04:59,560 --> 00:05:01,520
And I don't necessarily have a reason why.
117
00:05:01,520 --> 00:05:06,600
I understand that they're just mimicking noises, but I don't like it.
118
00:05:06,600 --> 00:05:13,120
It's kind of weird that they can make really good enunciations with a beak to me.
119
00:05:13,120 --> 00:05:14,120
That's a little strange.
120
00:05:14,120 --> 00:05:15,200
They don't have lips.
121
00:05:15,200 --> 00:05:16,200
That is true.
122
00:05:16,200 --> 00:05:18,520
They're doing their throats doing a lot of work.
123
00:05:18,520 --> 00:05:20,400
Yeah, that's a little strange to me.
124
00:05:20,400 --> 00:05:23,920
That's the second time I've said that today.
125
00:05:23,920 --> 00:05:25,920
Yeah.
126
00:05:25,920 --> 00:05:27,920
OK.
127
00:05:27,920 --> 00:05:36,160
Well, that's I don't know how to respond to that.
128
00:05:36,160 --> 00:05:40,080
I think you nailed it.
129
00:05:40,080 --> 00:05:41,080
Yeah.
130
00:05:41,080 --> 00:05:43,080
How you're responding is accurate.
131
00:05:43,080 --> 00:05:44,080
Yep.
132
00:05:44,080 --> 00:05:45,080
Yep, yep, yep, yep.
133
00:05:45,080 --> 00:05:46,080
Yep.
134
00:05:46,080 --> 00:05:51,240
So Thor, we were talking about this a little bit off off recording, but you sent me a text,
135
00:05:51,240 --> 00:05:56,400
which I was very excited to see that told me that you had just started to get into Bloodborne.
136
00:05:56,400 --> 00:05:57,760
I have been playing Bloodborne.
137
00:05:57,760 --> 00:05:58,760
Yes.
138
00:05:58,760 --> 00:06:02,480
So immediately when you sent me that text, I reinstalled Bloodborne.
139
00:06:02,480 --> 00:06:03,480
Yeah.
140
00:06:03,480 --> 00:06:04,480
Peek behind the curtain.
141
00:06:04,480 --> 00:06:08,120
I got here to record today and I'm like, what's up, man?
142
00:06:08,120 --> 00:06:09,120
What are you doing?
143
00:06:09,120 --> 00:06:17,320
And I look on the TV and Bloodborne is playing Bloodborne, baby, because it's it is my favorite.
144
00:06:17,320 --> 00:06:18,320
It's a future record.
145
00:06:18,320 --> 00:06:20,280
It's a future episode of the show.
146
00:06:20,280 --> 00:06:21,280
For sure.
147
00:06:21,280 --> 00:06:22,480
Yes, we're going to talk about Bloodborne.
148
00:06:22,480 --> 00:06:25,040
I have so much to say about Bloodborne.
149
00:06:25,040 --> 00:06:26,040
So I'm very excited for that.
150
00:06:26,040 --> 00:06:28,160
I'm very excited for us to play together.
151
00:06:28,160 --> 00:06:35,440
I if you would like, I will buy you the DLC for your birthday for.
152
00:06:35,440 --> 00:06:36,680
OK, OK, perhaps.
153
00:06:36,680 --> 00:06:38,080
Yeah, I don't know.
154
00:06:38,080 --> 00:06:41,200
I just down that it was a twenty dollar edition of Bloodborne.
155
00:06:41,200 --> 00:06:42,200
Sure.
156
00:06:42,200 --> 00:06:44,000
I don't know if the DLC was part of that.
157
00:06:44,000 --> 00:06:45,800
So I'll look I'll look into the purchase.
158
00:06:45,800 --> 00:06:46,800
Check and see.
159
00:06:46,800 --> 00:06:49,520
Yeah, because because I will buy the DLC.
160
00:06:49,520 --> 00:06:50,680
So good.
161
00:06:50,680 --> 00:06:52,160
It's such a good deal.
162
00:06:52,160 --> 00:06:54,480
Well, and you know why I started playing Bloodborne.
163
00:06:54,480 --> 00:07:00,240
We're going to diverge into so surprise Elden Ring chat.
164
00:07:00,240 --> 00:07:01,920
You can't get away, folks.
165
00:07:01,920 --> 00:07:02,920
Sorry.
166
00:07:02,920 --> 00:07:08,040
So the reason I did because I did my new game plus run through of Elden Ring because I was
167
00:07:08,040 --> 00:07:10,640
like, I have this new lightning mage build.
168
00:07:10,640 --> 00:07:13,240
I want to do like this faith dexterity build.
169
00:07:13,240 --> 00:07:14,240
I want to do it.
170
00:07:14,240 --> 00:07:15,240
And I did.
171
00:07:15,240 --> 00:07:17,360
And and also I did.
172
00:07:17,360 --> 00:07:18,880
I finally officially did it.
173
00:07:18,880 --> 00:07:20,880
I've thought about doing it before.
174
00:07:20,880 --> 00:07:24,520
I did a full run through of the game with no spirit summons.
175
00:07:24,520 --> 00:07:25,520
Oh, man.
176
00:07:25,520 --> 00:07:26,520
Full solo.
177
00:07:26,520 --> 00:07:27,520
That's wild.
178
00:07:27,520 --> 00:07:30,040
I finally beat millennia.
179
00:07:30,040 --> 00:07:31,040
Yeah.
180
00:07:31,040 --> 00:07:32,400
With no summons, dude.
181
00:07:32,400 --> 00:07:34,280
It was fucking brutal.
182
00:07:34,280 --> 00:07:35,880
It took me like five days.
183
00:07:35,880 --> 00:07:41,240
Oh, like, honestly, I quit because I got too pissed and I was like, I went and did other
184
00:07:41,240 --> 00:07:42,920
shit and came back to it.
185
00:07:42,920 --> 00:07:43,920
Yeah.
186
00:07:43,920 --> 00:07:46,680
And just like changed my strategy and finally did it.
187
00:07:46,680 --> 00:07:49,200
I could not be consort Rodin, though.
188
00:07:49,200 --> 00:07:50,200
I mean, he's awful.
189
00:07:50,200 --> 00:07:51,200
I could not do it.
190
00:07:51,200 --> 00:07:52,200
So I did everything.
191
00:07:52,200 --> 00:07:55,640
It's like I'm ashamed to say it, but yeah, I did everything except Rodin.
192
00:07:55,640 --> 00:07:56,800
And I thought about like, fuck it.
193
00:07:56,800 --> 00:07:58,320
I'm just I just want to beat it.
194
00:07:58,320 --> 00:08:01,760
But then I was like, I've already beat him with the spirit summons.
195
00:08:01,760 --> 00:08:03,760
I'm going to come back someday and I'll do it.
196
00:08:03,760 --> 00:08:04,760
Yeah.
197
00:08:04,760 --> 00:08:06,480
But I just couldn't couldn't do it.
198
00:08:06,480 --> 00:08:08,160
But like I beat everything.
199
00:08:08,160 --> 00:08:12,800
I beat every other remembrance boss fully solo.
200
00:08:12,800 --> 00:08:13,800
Nice.
201
00:08:13,800 --> 00:08:20,120
I did a couple of the like NPC summons, but I felt like that was fair because it was
202
00:08:20,120 --> 00:08:21,520
like story driven.
203
00:08:21,520 --> 00:08:22,520
Sure.
204
00:08:22,520 --> 00:08:28,400
Like the the Black Knight against Mesmer, Yomirs, weird Black Knight chick that hangs
205
00:08:28,400 --> 00:08:29,400
out with him.
206
00:08:29,400 --> 00:08:30,400
Yeah.
207
00:08:30,400 --> 00:08:33,400
Like he's like you do with the horn sent because you can do the horn sent with Mesmer as well.
208
00:08:33,400 --> 00:08:34,400
Nope, I didn't.
209
00:08:34,400 --> 00:08:36,280
I did not summon him.
210
00:08:36,280 --> 00:08:38,320
Just just the just the Black Knight lady.
211
00:08:38,320 --> 00:08:40,880
OK, because on the first playthrough, I did the horn sent.
212
00:08:40,880 --> 00:08:42,720
So I did a couple.
213
00:08:42,720 --> 00:08:47,080
I did a couple of like NPC summons if they were story based.
214
00:08:47,080 --> 00:08:48,080
Sure.
215
00:08:48,080 --> 00:08:50,240
I did because I felt like thematically it was cool.
216
00:08:50,240 --> 00:08:51,240
Yeah.
217
00:08:51,240 --> 00:08:52,800
How was Bale then this time around?
218
00:08:52,800 --> 00:08:55,360
I beat Bale pretty quickly, honestly, even solo.
219
00:08:55,360 --> 00:08:59,320
Yeah, because I know that when you and I went through, we kind of cleaned Bale out.
220
00:08:59,320 --> 00:09:04,920
I also found a hack for a lot of the bosses I ended up beating kind of a similar way.
221
00:09:04,920 --> 00:09:07,240
Oh, there is an Ash of War called Endure.
222
00:09:07,240 --> 00:09:08,240
Oh, sure.
223
00:09:08,240 --> 00:09:09,920
And you don't get hurt.
224
00:09:09,920 --> 00:09:10,920
Yeah.
225
00:09:10,920 --> 00:09:15,600
Well, it reduces your damage pretty significantly and it boosts your poise like by a million
226
00:09:15,600 --> 00:09:17,720
so that you just don't get knocked out.
227
00:09:17,720 --> 00:09:22,000
So once again, I was doing like a strength faith build or a dex faith build.
228
00:09:22,000 --> 00:09:23,520
And so I was either using lightning.
229
00:09:23,520 --> 00:09:24,800
I had two different setups.
230
00:09:24,800 --> 00:09:28,280
I was either a lightning mage or a fire mage.
231
00:09:28,280 --> 00:09:34,040
But both of them have real to each have one really good area of effect spell that you
232
00:09:34,040 --> 00:09:35,040
charge.
233
00:09:35,040 --> 00:09:40,320
One is like brings down a lightning, a fucking lightning storm in the area.
234
00:09:40,320 --> 00:09:42,920
And the other one brings up flames from the ground.
235
00:09:42,920 --> 00:09:47,600
So it brings up like fucking hell fire from the ground on the enemies.
236
00:09:47,600 --> 00:09:54,000
So basically you just equip like a dagger with Endure, like a literally a level one
237
00:09:54,000 --> 00:09:55,840
dagger that I'm not even going to attack.
238
00:09:55,840 --> 00:09:56,840
You just throw that Ash.
239
00:09:56,840 --> 00:10:00,880
So I would just throw that Ash of War on there and I would just run directly next to the
240
00:10:00,880 --> 00:10:05,840
boss, cast Endure so they can't interrupt me and then just charge my spell and just
241
00:10:05,840 --> 00:10:11,000
and just shoot fucking flames up from the ground on them.
242
00:10:11,000 --> 00:10:13,600
Do that two or three times and then they would be dead.
243
00:10:13,600 --> 00:10:14,600
Yeah.
244
00:10:14,600 --> 00:10:17,680
So I love that you're finding all these weird things out to beat the system.
245
00:10:17,680 --> 00:10:18,680
I know.
246
00:10:18,680 --> 00:10:22,280
So I was actually watching a video and this guy put it perfectly.
247
00:10:22,280 --> 00:10:27,720
He's like, I'm not particularly good at Elden Ring.
248
00:10:27,720 --> 00:10:29,520
Like I'm not good at these kinds of games.
249
00:10:29,520 --> 00:10:30,520
Yeah.
250
00:10:30,520 --> 00:10:36,660
But I am good at is researching and knowing the mechanics and how the game works.
251
00:10:36,660 --> 00:10:40,040
So that's and I and I heard that I was like, that's so funny.
252
00:10:40,040 --> 00:10:44,960
And then I ended up doing basically the same thing where it's like, I am not particularly
253
00:10:44,960 --> 00:10:49,720
skilled at video games, but I'm good at learning things.
254
00:10:49,720 --> 00:10:51,600
I'm good at picking shit up.
255
00:10:51,600 --> 00:10:57,400
So once I figured out, oh, hey, I can just cast this spell or cast this Ash of War and
256
00:10:57,400 --> 00:11:00,680
they can't stop me from doing what I want to do.
257
00:11:00,680 --> 00:11:04,600
I'm just going to get right up on you and bring a lightning storm down on your head.
258
00:11:04,600 --> 00:11:06,600
You fucking ass.
259
00:11:06,600 --> 00:11:08,600
Oh, yeah.
260
00:11:08,600 --> 00:11:14,600
So, yeah, I feel pretty accomplished beating millennia solo.
261
00:11:14,600 --> 00:11:15,600
That's a feat, dude.
262
00:11:15,600 --> 00:11:17,520
That is the it felt good.
263
00:11:17,520 --> 00:11:18,520
Yeah.
264
00:11:18,520 --> 00:11:21,320
And I actually didn't do that cheesy shit on her because it didn't.
265
00:11:21,320 --> 00:11:23,560
It just wasn't like really effective.
266
00:11:23,560 --> 00:11:24,560
Sure.
267
00:11:24,560 --> 00:11:29,320
I had to just muscle up and fucking and fucking figure it out.
268
00:11:29,320 --> 00:11:30,320
Yeah.
269
00:11:30,320 --> 00:11:31,320
Yeah.
270
00:11:31,320 --> 00:11:33,760
We're not talking about on a ring today.
271
00:11:33,760 --> 00:11:35,040
No, no, we're not.
272
00:11:35,040 --> 00:11:38,160
We yeah, we better stop before this becomes another Elden Ring episode.
273
00:11:38,160 --> 00:11:39,160
Yeah, that's fair.
274
00:11:39,160 --> 00:11:42,920
Instead, how about we talk about some nice uplifting heroin movie?
275
00:11:42,920 --> 00:11:46,560
Yeah, that sounds like fun to me, Thor.
276
00:11:46,560 --> 00:11:50,920
Haven't you always wanted to be a young Scottish person addicted to heroin?
277
00:11:50,920 --> 00:11:54,240
So the first half of that, maybe.
278
00:11:54,240 --> 00:11:55,760
Second half, it's pretty bad.
279
00:11:55,760 --> 00:11:56,760
Yeah.
280
00:11:56,760 --> 00:11:57,760
Geez.
281
00:11:57,760 --> 00:11:58,760
Yeah.
282
00:11:58,760 --> 00:12:03,360
So so let's let's let's discuss you and McGregor before.
283
00:12:03,360 --> 00:12:05,360
He became a Jedi.
284

00:12:26,080 --> 00:12:27,080
Creep.
290
00:12:27,080 --> 00:12:28,080
I don't know what you're into.
291
00:12:28,080 --> 00:12:29,080
I don't care.
292
00:12:29,080 --> 00:12:30,080
We'll review those too.
293
00:12:30,080 --> 00:12:32,080
What do you think of that?
294
00:12:32,080 --> 00:12:37,360
Maybe in any case, all your requests, feedback and general criticism of the straight white
295

patriarchy can be sent to get wrecked pod at Gmail dot com.
296
00:12:42,320 --> 00:12:43,320
That's G.I.T.
297
00:12:43,320 --> 00:12:44,320
R.E.C.D.
298
00:12:44,320 --> 00:12:47,800
P.O.D. at Gmail dot com.
299
00:12:47,800 --> 00:12:50,880
Now back to the show.
300
00:12:50,880 --> 00:12:51,880
All right, folks.
301
00:12:51,880 --> 00:12:58,240
So today we are discussing Trainspotting, a 1996 Scottish film.
302
00:12:58,240 --> 00:13:01,280
It's kind of like a black comedy or a drama.
303
00:13:01,280 --> 00:13:07,640
It's starring Ewan McGregor, Ewan Bremmer, Johnny Lee Miller, Kevin McKidd, Robert Carlyle
304
00:13:07,640 --> 00:13:09,960
and Kelly MacDonald.
305
00:13:09,960 --> 00:13:16,880
Essentially they play just these young Scottish people kind of with no direction.
306
00:13:16,880 --> 00:13:18,380
Most of them are heroin addicts.
307
00:13:18,380 --> 00:13:24,480
So it's kind of like a look at just this like disaffected youth in the United Kingdom, as
308
00:13:24,480 --> 00:13:29,920
well as, you know, deal like, you know, people addicted to heroin.
309
00:13:29,920 --> 00:13:36,760
It was directed by Scott Boyle, something Boyle, Danny Boyle, Danny Boyle.
310
00:13:36,760 --> 00:13:37,760
That sounds familiar.
311
00:13:37,760 --> 00:13:38,760
Yes.
312
00:13:38,760 --> 00:13:39,760
Directed by Danny Boyle.
313
00:13:39,760 --> 00:13:40,760
It does.
314
00:13:40,760 --> 00:13:44,640
So before we get into that, yeah, as before we started recording, I'm like, I have not
315
00:13:44,640 --> 00:13:46,480
looked into this film at all.
316
00:13:46,480 --> 00:13:49,560
So once again, I also heard Danny Boyle.
317
00:13:49,560 --> 00:13:51,080
It's like, that sounds familiar.
318
00:13:51,080 --> 00:13:53,200
Let's see his filmography.
319
00:13:53,200 --> 00:13:57,500
So he directed Trainspotting in 1996.
320
00:13:57,500 --> 00:14:02,120
He directed The Beach 28 days later.
321
00:14:02,120 --> 00:14:04,360
OK, Slumdog Millionaire.
322
00:14:04,360 --> 00:14:07,200
OK, 127 Hours.
323
00:14:07,200 --> 00:14:10,520
Steve Jobs, which I'm guessing was like a biopic.
324
00:14:10,520 --> 00:14:13,000
Is that the one with Ashton Kutcher?
325
00:14:13,000 --> 00:14:14,000
I don't know.
326
00:14:14,000 --> 00:14:15,000
I've never seen it.
327
00:14:15,000 --> 00:14:16,000
I don't know.
328
00:14:16,000 --> 00:14:17,000
Let's see.
329
00:14:17,000 --> 00:14:18,000
You keep you keep going.
330
00:14:18,000 --> 00:14:19,000
I'll.
331
00:14:19,000 --> 00:14:22,280
And he did 28 years later, most recently.
332
00:14:22,280 --> 00:14:24,040
Oh, not even.
333
00:14:24,040 --> 00:14:25,280
That's coming out next year.
334
00:14:25,280 --> 00:14:27,400
Oh, so did he do 28 weeks later?
335
00:14:27,400 --> 00:14:28,800
I don't see that on here.
336
00:14:28,800 --> 00:14:29,800
So I think that's interesting.
337
00:14:29,800 --> 00:14:34,080
OK, so he's coming back for 28 years later next year.
338
00:14:34,080 --> 00:14:40,400
But then 2019, he did a film that I really loved yesterday, which was the film where
339
00:14:40,400 --> 00:14:44,440
this guy wakes up and all of a sudden the entire world forgot the Beatles existed.
340
00:14:44,440 --> 00:14:45,440
Yeah.
341
00:14:45,440 --> 00:14:50,160
So the guy just starts playing the Beatles songs and becomes famous off them.
342
00:14:50,160 --> 00:14:55,840
And my favorite part of that film is when he meets Ed Sheeran and he's like they're
343
00:14:55,840 --> 00:15:01,600
what he's writing, he's trying to rewrite Hey Jude and Ed Sheeran's like, you know,
344
00:15:01,600 --> 00:15:05,040
I like it, but shouldn't it be like, hey, dude?
345
00:15:05,040 --> 00:15:10,760
And so he changes the lyrics of Hey Jude to Hey, dude.
346
00:15:10,760 --> 00:15:14,240
And then there's a later part where there's a couple other people who also remembered
347
00:15:14,240 --> 00:15:15,240
the Beatles.
348
00:15:15,240 --> 00:15:16,240
Right.
349
00:15:16,240 --> 00:15:18,000
And they're talking to him and they're like, hey, dude.
350
00:15:18,000 --> 00:15:20,400
And he's like fucking Ed Sheeran.
351
00:15:20,400 --> 00:15:26,800
Yeah, no, I like that film a lot for a number between the Beatles and just it's like really
352
00:15:26,800 --> 00:15:27,800
sweet.
353
00:15:27,800 --> 00:15:28,800
Like, yeah, well, active.
354
00:15:28,800 --> 00:15:29,800
That is a good one.
355
00:15:29,800 --> 00:15:30,800
Yeah.
356
00:15:30,800 --> 00:15:31,800
So that's Danny Boyle.
357
00:15:31,800 --> 00:15:33,100
He directed this film.
358
00:15:33,100 --> 00:15:36,040
It's based off a novel.
359
00:15:36,040 --> 00:15:39,120
Of the same name.
360
00:15:39,120 --> 00:15:44,440
I don't have pulled up who wrote that or anything, but so it's basically just a movie based
361
00:15:44,440 --> 00:15:47,520
on the novel trans body.
362
00:15:47,520 --> 00:15:53,340
So with all that, Micah, Scottish heroin addicts in the early 90s, what are your thoughts?
363
00:15:53,340 --> 00:16:02,400
You know, I there were a lot of ups and downs for this for this this one, Thor, because
364
00:16:02,400 --> 00:16:09,120
when it started and I figured based on how you presented the recommendation to me, I
365
00:16:09,120 --> 00:16:14,920
figured there would probably be some downs in it, right?
366
00:16:14,920 --> 00:16:17,660
Just based on the content of the of the movie.
367
00:16:17,660 --> 00:16:22,440
But I did find it weirdly charming at the beginning of the film.
368
00:16:22,440 --> 00:16:23,440
Yeah, it's fun.
369
00:16:23,440 --> 00:16:27,320
Yeah, I was like, OK, so I get what's going on.
370
00:16:27,320 --> 00:16:33,200
And it focused more on just them kind of being rascals trying to make money.
371
00:16:33,200 --> 00:16:38,960
And it didn't really focus on the drug side of it, like the really dark side of it.
372
00:16:38,960 --> 00:16:45,380
And so I thought that that was. I don't know. Nice.
373
00:16:45,380 --> 00:16:49,200
And I was like, OK, I like I kind of like the comedy with this.
374
00:16:49,200 --> 00:16:55,320
And it was kind of skirting around like the seriousness of of the content of the movie.
375
00:16:55,320 --> 00:17:01,480
And then it takes a really hard turn with everybody just so doped up.
376
00:17:01,480 --> 00:17:04,520
And then there's a baby that lives with them.
377
00:17:04,520 --> 00:17:05,520
Yeah.
378
00:17:05,520 --> 00:17:10,280
Like the baby dies, which it seems like it's spit up and it's sleep or something like that.
379
00:17:10,280 --> 00:17:12,680
Yeah. Is that how I kind of like that?
380
00:17:12,680 --> 00:17:14,840
They don't. They don't. That's exactly what happened.
381
00:17:14,840 --> 00:17:18,840
Yeah, they don't like to see the baby get into the heroin, seems likely.
382
00:17:18,840 --> 00:17:22,280
Well, because it's just it's just crawling around while they're shooting up.
383
00:17:22,280 --> 00:17:24,000
But yeah, maybe they're like, oh, it's asleep.
384
00:17:24,000 --> 00:17:26,360
But really, it was just ate a bunch of heroin or something.
385
00:17:26,360 --> 00:17:28,520
Who knows? Yeah, could have been right.
386
00:17:28,520 --> 00:17:33,200
Or also they were just fucking because that whole scene is like he's like,
387
00:17:33,200 --> 00:17:37,080
I thought I didn't hear anybody talking for like what felt like a week.
388
00:17:37,080 --> 00:17:39,560
Yeah. He's like, she could have been screaming for a week.
389
00:17:39,560 --> 00:17:41,720
I mean, somebody had to have said something to her, right?
390
00:17:41,720 --> 00:17:43,440
Like, yeah, who knows? Yeah, right.
391
00:17:43,440 --> 00:17:46,360
Like that. That's kind of like just telling this thing of like
392
00:17:46,800 --> 00:17:51,360
the baby was dead and the mom didn't even realize because she was so fucked up on heroin.
393
00:17:51,360 --> 00:17:52,920
Yeah, she didn't even realize.
394
00:17:52,920 --> 00:17:55,280
And so the baby's just dead in the crib.
395
00:17:55,280 --> 00:17:58,520
Yes. And it's fucking it's like it is a shock.
396
00:17:58,520 --> 00:18:02,960
It's like this real big turning point in the movie where it is kind of fun
397
00:18:02,960 --> 00:18:05,480
and lighthearted and then all of a sudden it's like.
398
00:18:06,720 --> 00:18:09,440
Here's just a dead baby in your face and.
399
00:18:09,440 --> 00:18:11,800
Yeah. And visually, it's disturbing.
400
00:18:11,800 --> 00:18:18,320
Like it's obviously not an actual baby, but like it looks very realistic,
401
00:18:18,320 --> 00:18:23,920
like the the modeling that they did on it made it look it looked realistic.
402
00:18:24,480 --> 00:18:28,680
And it also just looks like it's it fucking hurt to see that.
403
00:18:28,920 --> 00:18:31,240
It's also interesting rewatching this movie.
404
00:18:31,240 --> 00:18:33,800
I'd forgotten about that part entirely. OK.
405
00:18:33,960 --> 00:18:36,200
Because I had seen this a long time ago.
406
00:18:36,200 --> 00:18:38,720
I don't know if I'll ever forget that.
407
00:18:38,720 --> 00:18:39,560
Just to be honest.
408
00:18:39,560 --> 00:18:43,000
Yeah, no. As a father now, like watching it as an adult, it's like, yeah,
409
00:18:43,000 --> 00:18:46,840
I don't think like that there there was a scene
410
00:18:46,840 --> 00:18:50,960
I had remembered of this movie is when he shoots up and he like falls into the carpet.
411
00:18:50,960 --> 00:18:53,640
Sure. That was the part of this movie that I remembered.
412
00:18:53,640 --> 00:18:54,640
OK, that's the scene.
413
00:18:54,640 --> 00:18:58,280
But now 10 years from now, the part I'm going to remember
414
00:18:58,280 --> 00:19:01,280
is when they pan to the dead baby in the crib.
415
00:19:01,280 --> 00:19:03,360
It's fucking brutal.
416
00:19:03,360 --> 00:19:03,800
It really is.
417
00:19:03,800 --> 00:19:08,120
And it is really this like change in tone of the movie.
418
00:19:08,400 --> 00:19:11,360
Like it goes from being kind of fun and lighthearted to like.
419
00:19:12,280 --> 00:19:15,840
What the fuck? Yeah, yeah.
420
00:19:16,000 --> 00:19:18,440
That's that's exactly what I thought.
421
00:19:18,840 --> 00:19:22,840
And at that point, at that point, I literally in my mind just went,
422
00:19:23,480 --> 00:19:25,640
damn it, Thor.
423
00:19:25,800 --> 00:19:27,480
Why are you doing this to me?
424
00:19:27,480 --> 00:19:28,760
Michelle, it was Michelle.
425
00:19:28,760 --> 00:19:30,920
I didn't recommend this movie.
426
00:19:30,920 --> 00:19:33,480
OK, yeah, let me edit.
427
00:19:33,480 --> 00:19:35,280
Damn it, Michelle.
428
00:19:35,280 --> 00:19:38,000
Why are you doing this to me?
429
00:19:38,000 --> 00:19:41,240
Because with that, I don't know, just becoming a parent,
430
00:19:41,240 --> 00:19:43,840
that that stuff hits in a different way now.
431
00:19:43,840 --> 00:19:44,600
Does. Yeah.
432
00:19:45,720 --> 00:19:49,400
So because also, like before you have a kid, if you watch this,
433
00:19:50,200 --> 00:19:53,200
like you think you understand what that
434
00:19:53,200 --> 00:19:57,600
you like, you think you can understand that, like emotional like pain of that.
435
00:19:58,600 --> 00:20:01,960
I and then once you have a kid, you actually understand,
436
00:20:01,960 --> 00:20:04,600
like if you put yourself in those shoes, you're like, oh, my God.
437
00:20:04,600 --> 00:20:09,000
Yeah, like it's the worst thing you could ever possibly imagine. Right. So.
438
00:20:09,880 --> 00:20:12,680
Yeah, yeah, it's it's rough.
439
00:20:13,040 --> 00:20:16,080
And I also like that they do a little bit of justice to it,
440
00:20:16,080 --> 00:20:19,200
because also the way they that he handles it.
441
00:20:19,200 --> 00:20:23,600
Sure, like there's so much like subtext of this film of just like.
442
00:20:24,840 --> 00:20:27,720
Their actions as opposed to like what's actually said
443
00:20:28,080 --> 00:20:32,440
is his way of dealing with it is he's like, I felt like I should just say something
444
00:20:32,840 --> 00:20:34,960
like there was something to say, and all he says is.
445
00:20:36,200 --> 00:20:38,760
I'm going to go cook up real quick. Yep.
446
00:20:38,760 --> 00:20:41,160
He's like, I'm just not going to deal with this.
447
00:20:41,200 --> 00:20:44,000
I'm just going to go get more high. Yeah.
448
00:20:44,200 --> 00:20:47,760
Well, and and while he's doing it,
449
00:20:47,760 --> 00:20:51,680
the mom comes out and she's like, will you cook me up a hit, too? Mm hmm.
450
00:20:52,280 --> 00:20:55,360
That did a really good job of illustrating the.
451
00:20:56,360 --> 00:20:59,480
Oh, I don't know, just the gripping.
452
00:21:01,080 --> 00:21:07,320
Maybe the grip is gripping reality of what like of what that serious addiction is.
453
00:21:07,320 --> 00:21:11,000
Yeah, because I I immediately went from thinking.
454
00:21:12,000 --> 00:21:16,320
This is I'm kind of enjoying this weirdly to that
455
00:21:16,320 --> 00:21:18,880
that really is shocking.
456
00:21:19,000 --> 00:21:22,840
Yeah, to me, absolutely hating every single person.
457
00:21:23,360 --> 00:21:25,880
Yeah, hating all of characters. Yeah. Yeah.
458
00:21:26,040 --> 00:21:31,880
Yeah. And and so the movie then does get away from that a little bit.
459
00:21:32,440 --> 00:21:36,080
But from that point on, it really bounces back and forth
460
00:21:36,080 --> 00:21:37,480
with you and McGregor's character.
461
00:21:37,480 --> 00:21:40,920
His name was what rental or rent? Renton. Renton. Renton. Renton.
462
00:21:40,960 --> 00:21:42,160
Yeah, Mark Renton.
463
00:21:42,160 --> 00:21:46,160
Um, and he's trying continuously through this entire movie
464
00:21:46,160 --> 00:21:50,400
to like get out of that, but he can't get out of the circle of his friend.
465
00:21:50,480 --> 00:21:53,360
Yeah. Well, and he also can't get out of his own.
466
00:21:53,600 --> 00:21:58,080
Like he can't get out of being who he is in a lot of ways, like.
467
00:21:59,680 --> 00:22:02,560
Because he's always trying to be better. Sure.
468
00:22:03,200 --> 00:22:07,280
And he's well, he's telling himself he's being better and he's trying to be better.
469
00:22:07,720 --> 00:22:13,400
But as soon as he has the opportunity to not be better, he takes it. Right.
470
00:22:13,400 --> 00:22:16,440
Yeah. Well, and I don't know how much of that is
471
00:22:17,480 --> 00:22:19,840
just the addiction taking over. Right.
472
00:22:19,840 --> 00:22:24,520
Like like he doesn't have the capacity to fight the addiction at that point.
473
00:22:24,840 --> 00:22:27,160
Yeah. And you know, how much of that is
474
00:22:27,840 --> 00:22:32,120
is him not being a good person versus him have just failing in his
475
00:22:32,240 --> 00:22:36,120
in his battle with this thing that he's trying to defeat. Yeah.
476
00:22:36,480 --> 00:22:39,520
Which is a really depressing thing to think about it that way.
477
00:22:39,520 --> 00:22:44,800
But I I do think overall that I liked this movie,
478
00:22:46,320 --> 00:22:48,520
but it was definitely a mixed bag for me.
479
00:22:48,760 --> 00:22:52,360
It definitely had highs and lows. Yeah, for sure.
480
00:22:52,360 --> 00:22:53,360
For sure.
481
00:22:54,000 --> 00:22:57,040
The cast was something that I was kind of surprised with.
482
00:22:58,160 --> 00:23:00,640
With this in particular.
483
00:23:02,160 --> 00:23:05,200
I was really surprised with seeing.
484
00:23:05,200 --> 00:23:07,960
I was really surprised with seeing.
485
00:23:10,400 --> 00:23:12,440
With seeing what I think there's two.
486
00:23:12,440 --> 00:23:14,560
So Kevin McKidd was a big one for me.
487
00:23:16,360 --> 00:23:18,600
What else is he in? I got his IMD.
488
00:23:18,600 --> 00:23:23,840
I got IMD pulled up. Let's the main thing that he is that I know him from
489
00:23:24,000 --> 00:23:26,160
is Grey's Anatomy. Oh, shit.
490
00:23:26,160 --> 00:23:28,440
He is the Grey's Anatomy guy. Yep.
491
00:23:29,120 --> 00:23:31,120
Oh, shit. What character was he?
492
00:23:31,120 --> 00:23:33,440
He's one of the heart surgeons.
493
00:23:33,440 --> 00:23:36,840
No, in this movie. Oh, Tommy.
494
00:23:36,840 --> 00:23:37,960
Yeah, he's time. Oh, shit.
495
00:23:37,960 --> 00:23:40,200
I didn't even realize that was him. Yeah.
496
00:23:41,480 --> 00:23:44,680
Yeah. So so Kevin McKidd plays,
497
00:23:44,680 --> 00:23:48,280
for those of you who are into Grey's Anatomy, plays Dr.
498
00:23:48,280 --> 00:23:50,240
Owen Hunt in Grey's Anatomy.
499
00:23:50,240 --> 00:23:52,480
So he's the redheaded Irish.
500
00:23:52,480 --> 00:23:54,240
The horny doctor show. Yeah.
501
00:23:54,240 --> 00:23:57,400
That's why I always because Kendra fucking I know your wife does, too.
502
00:23:57,400 --> 00:23:59,080
Kendra love. I love.
503
00:23:59,080 --> 00:24:01,640
I constantly come home and Grey's Anatomy is on.
504
00:24:01,640 --> 00:24:05,240
Mm hmm. And I know she has watched through it multiple times.
505
00:24:05,640 --> 00:24:09,040
Yeah. And every time I see, oh, you watching horny doctors again?
506
00:24:09,040 --> 00:24:12,240
Like, that's what that show is. It's just horny doctors.
507
00:24:12,320 --> 00:24:14,080
Yeah. So it's a dumb show.
508
00:24:14,080 --> 00:24:15,760
It's a bad show.
509
00:24:15,760 --> 00:24:18,320
And honestly, here's the thing that pisses.
510
00:24:18,320 --> 00:24:19,280
I'm going to go off.
511
00:24:19,280 --> 00:24:23,880
Grey's Anatomy pisses me off because the whole like a big premise of the show
512
00:24:24,080 --> 00:24:26,480
is the main character, Meredith Grey.
513
00:24:28,480 --> 00:24:29,200
And like.
514
00:24:29,200 --> 00:24:34,240
Everybody is chasing after her like she like.
515
00:24:35,640 --> 00:24:38,440
Everybody is like trying to bang Meredith Grey
516
00:24:38,440 --> 00:24:40,600
and she's trying to bang every doctor or whatever.
517
00:24:40,600 --> 00:24:43,120
I don't actually know if that that's what it seems like, though.
518
00:24:43,520 --> 00:24:44,640
Yeah. And it's like.
519
00:24:46,160 --> 00:24:48,080
She's a dog, you know what I mean?
520
00:24:48,080 --> 00:24:50,520
She shouldn't she shouldn't be in a hospital.
521
00:24:50,520 --> 00:24:51,920
She should be in a kennel.
522
00:24:51,920 --> 00:24:58,760
She like she's she's so gross, like she is not.
523
00:24:59,440 --> 00:25:02,080
She should not be the main star of any show.
524
00:25:03,240 --> 00:25:05,200
I cannot I cannot stand it.
525
00:25:05,200 --> 00:25:09,640
Like, it's so unbelievable that everybody is chasing after her.
526
00:25:10,080 --> 00:25:12,920
Like, oh, OK.
527
00:25:14,680 --> 00:25:16,760
Sorry, that's my tangent on Gray's Anatomy.
528
00:25:16,760 --> 00:25:18,360
That's quite a tangent.
529
00:25:18,360 --> 00:25:24,120
So for me, I can't watch
530
00:25:24,120 --> 00:25:26,840
Grey's Anatomy anymore ever since we had our had Freya.
531
00:25:27,280 --> 00:25:29,600
I can't watch any like medical drama in general.
532
00:25:29,880 --> 00:25:30,800
I just can't do it.
533
00:25:30,800 --> 00:25:33,040
OK, like it's too close to home.
534
00:25:33,040 --> 00:25:34,640
Really? Yes. Yeah.
535
00:25:34,640 --> 00:25:40,200
So for me, I mean, there are episodes that are, you know, more of that than not.
536
00:25:40,800 --> 00:25:44,920
But like when I see scenes, especially if I catch an episode
537
00:25:44,920 --> 00:25:47,800
that actually is watching where they're like opening up a heart or.
538
00:25:47,800 --> 00:25:52,280
Yeah. Or or if like if somebody loses a kid, I'm done.
539
00:25:52,640 --> 00:25:55,040
Because we we watch an episode.
540
00:25:56,160 --> 00:25:56,920
I don't know.
541
00:25:56,920 --> 00:26:01,440
At some point after Freya had been born and something like that came up,
542
00:26:01,600 --> 00:26:03,640
I started tearing up and I'm just like, I'm done.
543
00:26:03,640 --> 00:26:05,760
I left. Yeah, it was just too much for me.
544
00:26:05,760 --> 00:26:07,000
Yeah. At that point.
545
00:26:07,000 --> 00:26:09,120
And so feeling emotions is gay.
546
00:26:09,120 --> 00:26:11,520
So you got to avoid it at all costs.
547
00:26:12,800 --> 00:26:15,360
It's just I don't want to relive any of that.
548
00:26:15,440 --> 00:26:17,280
Yeah, of course. Yeah.
549
00:26:17,280 --> 00:26:20,520
So for what it's worth, it might be a great show still.
550
00:26:20,520 --> 00:26:21,480
I don't know.
551
00:26:21,480 --> 00:26:24,840
I think that any show that lasts for 20 seasons is too long, but.
552
00:26:26,000 --> 00:26:26,760
I don't know.
553
00:26:26,760 --> 00:26:28,560
They're still making them, so people are still watching it.
554
00:26:30,160 --> 00:26:34,320
But yeah, so anyway, that Kevin McKidd was a very surprised or surprising.
555
00:26:34,680 --> 00:26:36,920
I genuinely I did not even realize.
556
00:26:36,920 --> 00:26:41,560
And also, also, I know him from nothing except seeing him on Grey's Anatomy.
557
00:26:41,600 --> 00:26:43,640
Yeah. But yeah, I had no idea.
558
00:26:43,640 --> 00:26:46,040
And the story of Tommy is kind of fucked up.
559
00:26:46,040 --> 00:26:48,960
It is he's like the clean and sober guy who's like a good dude.
560
00:26:49,440 --> 00:26:53,880
And his girlfriend breaks up with him because he loses their sex tape.
561
00:26:53,920 --> 00:26:54,720
Actually, yeah.
562
00:26:54,720 --> 00:26:59,800
Which which you and McGregor stole so that he could watch his buddy sex tape.
563
00:26:59,840 --> 00:27:03,600
I don't know. And then after they break up, because he lost,
564
00:27:03,600 --> 00:27:05,960
he lost, quote unquote, lost the sex tape.
565
00:27:05,960 --> 00:27:09,160
Actually, one of his best friends stole his sex tape to watch secretly
566
00:27:09,160 --> 00:27:10,480
without him knowing.
567
00:27:10,480 --> 00:27:13,440
Then he's like, hey, she broke up with me.
568
00:27:14,120 --> 00:27:15,720
I think I'd like to try heroin.
569
00:27:15,720 --> 00:27:17,840
What do you think? And he's like, cool. Yeah, sure. Whatever.
570
00:27:18,000 --> 00:27:22,560
Go ahead. And then he like immediately gets AIDS and dies from AIDS.
571
00:27:22,560 --> 00:27:26,360
It's the most tragic shit of all time.
572
00:27:26,480 --> 00:27:29,480
Yeah, I don't know if he meant to take the sex tape.
573
00:27:30,120 --> 00:27:35,040
I think that it was a when I was watching it, it appeared to be
574
00:27:35,400 --> 00:27:39,120
because he took a he took like a VHS disclosure.
575
00:27:39,120 --> 00:27:42,480
I was watching the baby by myself when I watched the film. OK.
576
00:27:42,480 --> 00:27:47,320
So I I can't say 100 percent like I was
577
00:27:47,920 --> 00:27:50,640
100 percent focused on the movie as I watched.
578
00:27:50,640 --> 00:27:54,160
So for me, he took a VHS
579
00:27:54,800 --> 00:27:57,520
and he asked if I thought that he wanted to borrow.
580
00:27:57,720 --> 00:28:01,280
And it was this is VHS of a compilation of the 100 best goals of this,
581
00:28:01,320 --> 00:28:02,520
you know, football team.
582
00:28:02,520 --> 00:28:05,000
Yeah, because they're Scottish and all they give a shit about is fucking.
583
00:28:05,000 --> 00:28:06,480
Yeah. Football. Soccer.
584
00:28:06,480 --> 00:28:10,040
Not actual, not real football. Not real. Yeah. Dumbass soccer.
585
00:28:10,040 --> 00:28:14,280
Yeah. But when he
586
00:28:15,200 --> 00:28:18,560
when he took the tape home, realized that that was not.
587
00:28:19,600 --> 00:28:21,120
Oh, OK. Thing.
588
00:28:21,120 --> 00:28:24,960
But he did watch the sex tape of like one of his friends and his girlfriend.
589
00:28:24,960 --> 00:28:28,160
OK, yeah. And I thought he took it on purpose.
590
00:28:28,160 --> 00:28:30,240
I didn't. I thought he like sneakily took it.
591
00:28:30,240 --> 00:28:31,840
I didn't realize he had asked. Right.
592
00:28:31,840 --> 00:28:34,840
Because then when because then when
593
00:28:35,040 --> 00:28:38,400
when Tommy starts getting frisky with his girlfriend,
594
00:28:38,400 --> 00:28:42,920
she's like, I want you to put that video on so that while we have sex,
595
00:28:42,920 --> 00:28:44,840
we can watch us having sex. Yeah.
596
00:28:44,840 --> 00:28:47,480
So he goes and he puts that video in pretty cool idea.
597
00:28:47,480 --> 00:28:48,760
I had not thought about that.
598
00:28:48,760 --> 00:28:52,080
It's certainly I was like, that actually does seem pretty cool.
599
00:28:53,000 --> 00:28:55,880
Well, so when he goes and puts that video in, it's soccer.
600
00:28:56,120 --> 00:28:59,200
Yeah, it's the it's the soccer film that you and Rebecca was trying to borrow.
601
00:28:59,680 --> 00:29:02,160
So I think that that's what was happening.
602
00:29:02,160 --> 00:29:06,680
But even even if that's the case, even if if that's what happened
603
00:29:06,680 --> 00:29:10,640
and he didn't purposely take it to watch it, he still one watched it.
604
00:29:10,800 --> 00:29:14,200
And then to when they broke up, didn't tell him that he had it
605
00:29:14,200 --> 00:29:16,080
and that he watched it.
606
00:29:16,080 --> 00:29:19,040
Yeah. And then gets the guy into heroin.
607
00:29:19,040 --> 00:29:21,480
So like he's still a scumbag.
608
00:29:21,480 --> 00:29:22,600
Can we I want to.
609
00:29:22,600 --> 00:29:26,640
Yeah, he's not he's a likable character, but not a good character.
610
00:29:26,680 --> 00:29:31,200
Right. Yeah. As this movie goes on, initially,
611
00:29:31,200 --> 00:29:35,920
they all as a group tried to get out of heroin together.
612
00:29:36,600 --> 00:29:38,840
And so they're all trying to be sober together.
613
00:29:39,520 --> 00:29:42,680
And it all fails on one night
614
00:29:43,160 --> 00:29:46,560
where all of them kind of have this fling happen.
615
00:29:46,560 --> 00:29:48,640
Well, with Tommy, it's his girlfriend.
616
00:29:48,640 --> 00:29:51,080
And with Renton, he goes and finds a girl.
617
00:29:52,320 --> 00:29:55,480
And then his other friend is named Spud.
618
00:29:55,960 --> 00:29:58,840
And so Spud has his girlfriend.
619
00:29:58,840 --> 00:30:02,080
And it's like they go to a club and then they all go their separate ways
620
00:30:02,080 --> 00:30:04,840
and they all go to somebody's house.
621
00:30:04,840 --> 00:30:07,800
And they all have a horrible night. Yeah. All right.
622
00:30:07,880 --> 00:30:10,560
And I thought that it would be fun for us to rank
623
00:30:10,800 --> 00:30:13,040
who had the worst night out of the three of them.
624
00:30:13,360 --> 00:30:16,160
So just to recap, Renton
625
00:30:17,800 --> 00:30:20,800
finds a girl at a club, takes her home, sleeps with her.
626
00:30:21,200 --> 00:30:25,480
And then in the morning finds out that she's underage and still in high school.
627
00:30:25,600 --> 00:30:27,760
Yeah. So there's that.
628
00:30:27,760 --> 00:30:30,240
That's pretty awful situation.
629
00:30:30,240 --> 00:30:33,200
Uh, Tommy. OK.
630
00:30:33,320 --> 00:30:36,480
OK, go on. Yeah. Tommy.
631
00:30:36,480 --> 00:30:39,840
Takes his girlfriend to what his place.
632
00:30:40,120 --> 00:30:43,240
All right. Things start getting a little hot and heavy. And then.
633
00:30:44,360 --> 00:30:48,840
He has the very unfortunate situation of his girlfriend
634
00:30:48,840 --> 00:30:52,760
finding out that he doesn't have the sex tape that they made of him and her.
635
00:30:53,040 --> 00:30:54,280
And he doesn't know where it is.
636
00:30:54,280 --> 00:30:57,400
So, of course, to her, she's uber pissed slash freaking out
637
00:30:57,400 --> 00:31:01,240
because there's a sex tape of her somewhere in the world. Right. Yeah.
638
00:31:01,320 --> 00:31:04,040
And his night is just ruined from that.
639
00:31:04,040 --> 00:31:06,440
Like, that's a ball buster night. That sucks, too.
640
00:31:07,080 --> 00:31:13,240
And then Spud basically goes with his his girlfriend and.
641
00:31:13,320 --> 00:31:17,920
And she's been and she's been holding out sex on him for like six weeks.
642
00:31:17,920 --> 00:31:20,000
They've been dating for like six weeks. Yeah.
643
00:31:20,000 --> 00:31:23,000
And because she read in Cosmo, you should hold out.
644
00:31:23,000 --> 00:31:24,960
It's been six weeks since they had sex.
645
00:31:24,960 --> 00:31:27,440
And she's finally like, let's go have sex.
646
00:31:28,280 --> 00:31:30,240
And but Spud's too drunk.
647
00:31:30,240 --> 00:31:32,480
He's so drunk he passes out. Yep.
648
00:31:32,480 --> 00:31:35,120
Can't have sex. And then shits the bed.
649
00:31:35,200 --> 00:31:40,640
Yeah. In his sleep and manages to get all of said shit
650
00:31:40,920 --> 00:31:45,680
all over his girlfriend and his girlfriend's parents faces.
651
00:31:45,760 --> 00:31:48,800
Yeah. Because the next day he's trying to leave with the sheets and they're like,
652
00:31:48,800 --> 00:31:51,440
oh, let me clean it. Starts wrestling with the mom.
653
00:31:51,440 --> 00:31:54,240
Yeah. And then shit goes all over everybody.
654
00:31:54,240 --> 00:31:56,280
Yeah. So out of those three situations,
655
00:31:57,120 --> 00:32:01,080
which is the worst and which is the the like
656
00:32:01,880 --> 00:32:04,480
the least worst, I guess, because none of them are good.
657
00:32:05,200 --> 00:32:09,400
But if we had to rank them from best, the worst is the shit one, obviously.
658
00:32:09,400 --> 00:32:11,880
You think so? Yeah. Because.
659
00:32:13,120 --> 00:32:15,520
He got to well.
660
00:32:15,840 --> 00:32:18,440
This is because all of them are really, really bad.
661
00:32:19,240 --> 00:32:22,520
Try to put yourself in those situations specifically.
662
00:32:22,520 --> 00:32:26,720
OK, all right. And think about which one would be the worst for you, because I.
663
00:32:27,600 --> 00:32:29,800
Full disclosure, I thought this would be fun to talk about,
664
00:32:29,800 --> 00:32:32,200
and then I didn't put any thought into which would be the worst for me.
665
00:32:32,200 --> 00:32:34,520
OK. Yeah.
666
00:32:34,520 --> 00:32:36,920
Well, I think the best one has to be Mark's night, right?
667
00:32:37,920 --> 00:32:40,400
Because did he have sex with an underage girl?
668
00:32:40,640 --> 00:32:42,560
Yes. Did he know?
669
00:32:42,560 --> 00:32:44,680
No, because had he known, he would have said no.
670
00:32:45,040 --> 00:32:47,280
So he had a good time. It was awesome.
671
00:32:47,320 --> 00:32:48,880
Then she essentially blackmailed him.
672
00:32:48,880 --> 00:32:51,920
And then the next day he's like, oh, that was pretty bad.
673
00:32:51,920 --> 00:32:53,920
But he can still just disappear.
674
00:32:53,920 --> 00:32:55,920
It's the 90s. The Internet doesn't exist.
675
00:32:55,920 --> 00:32:57,520
He can just disappear. Sure.
676
00:32:57,520 --> 00:33:00,160
And then he still has the nice memory. OK.
677
00:33:00,720 --> 00:33:03,720
Like, I mean, it's still bad, but I mean.
678
00:33:03,800 --> 00:33:06,120
So statutory is not the worst in the scenario.
679
00:33:06,320 --> 00:33:08,120
I think. Yeah, no.
680
00:33:08,120 --> 00:33:11,360
Because in the when it was happening, he wasn't like, oh, this.
681
00:33:11,400 --> 00:33:13,160
You know what I mean? Understood. Yeah.
682
00:33:13,160 --> 00:33:15,600
So I think I think that's the best night.
683
00:33:16,120 --> 00:33:17,640
It's still very bad.
684
00:33:17,640 --> 00:33:19,960
It's tough to say that's good, but I know.
685
00:33:19,960 --> 00:33:22,200
I know none of them are good situations.
686
00:33:22,200 --> 00:33:23,320
I'm a good. Yeah, sure.
687
00:33:23,320 --> 00:33:25,120
Let's rank that one as the best move on.
688
00:33:25,120 --> 00:33:27,440
Let's rank sex with an underage girl.
689
00:33:27,920 --> 00:33:31,720
But here's the thing that really that really is weird about that.
690
00:33:31,920 --> 00:33:35,800
The next morning, he walks out and her parents are there. Yeah.
691
00:33:36,240 --> 00:33:39,120
Oh, you're your Diane's friend.
692
00:33:39,520 --> 00:33:44,440
And it's like Diane's adult friend who spent the night in your house. Yeah.
693
00:33:45,400 --> 00:33:48,160
Bad parents. 100 percent. Yeah.
694
00:33:48,160 --> 00:33:50,440
Yeah. He'd be dead.
695
00:33:50,440 --> 00:33:53,560
Very, very, very odd.
696
00:33:54,960 --> 00:33:57,200
Very odd. He'd be dead in my in my house.
697
00:33:57,200 --> 00:34:00,440
He wouldn't leave the basement.
698
00:34:00,440 --> 00:34:03,120
Exactly. But so I don't know.
699
00:34:03,120 --> 00:34:07,360
I think he has the best night because ultimately things didn't go bad for him.
700
00:34:07,920 --> 00:34:11,560
Like, could they have gone bad for sure?
701
00:34:11,760 --> 00:34:14,040
Like, was it a bad night? He got away with it.
702
00:34:14,040 --> 00:34:16,400
OK, sure. No repercussions. Did he do a good thing?
703
00:34:16,400 --> 00:34:19,240
No. Was it a fault of his? No.
704
00:34:19,480 --> 00:34:21,160
Yeah. And he got away with it. Yeah.
705
00:34:21,160 --> 00:34:23,480
No repercussions. So I think he had the best night. Mm hmm.
706
00:34:26,840 --> 00:34:28,640
Second, so worse.
707
00:34:28,640 --> 00:34:29,840
Who had the worst night, though?
708
00:34:29,840 --> 00:34:32,160
And then because then the middle will just figure itself out.
709
00:34:32,200 --> 00:34:36,120
So of spud or Tommy, who had the worst night?
710
00:34:36,160 --> 00:34:38,240
I know my answer. OK, what's your answer?
711
00:34:38,240 --> 00:34:41,080
I think it's Tommy. I think Tommy had the worst night.
712
00:34:41,080 --> 00:34:43,400
Tommy, with his with his girlfriend.
713
00:34:43,400 --> 00:34:45,560
OK, what's the case for Tommy?
714
00:34:45,560 --> 00:34:47,400
OK, so here's what I'm thinking.
715
00:34:47,400 --> 00:34:50,280
Imagine yourself in the situation where you're starting to get a little hot
716
00:34:50,280 --> 00:34:52,360
and heavy. All right.
717
00:34:52,360 --> 00:34:55,040
And she says, put the tape in so that we can watch it.
718
00:34:55,360 --> 00:34:59,000
And you are ready to go.
719
00:34:59,000 --> 00:35:01,280
Right. And then you put the tape in.
720
00:35:02,080 --> 00:35:04,600
You realize that the tape is missing.
721
00:35:05,160 --> 00:35:09,440
So one, think about the drop in attitude that would happen.
722
00:35:09,440 --> 00:35:13,000
Yeah. To think about how much shit
723
00:35:13,000 --> 00:35:16,680
you would have to deal with all night.
724
00:35:17,120 --> 00:35:20,360
Just phrasing spud had to deal with more shit.
725
00:35:20,840 --> 00:35:23,440
Sure. Metaphorical shit.
726
00:35:23,440 --> 00:35:27,560
You would have to deal with all night with your girlfriend.
727
00:35:27,560 --> 00:35:30,040
Just over pissed at you. Yeah.
728
00:35:30,320 --> 00:35:33,880
OK. You know, and also you in a panic
729
00:35:34,440 --> 00:35:37,960
digging through your entire house, trying to find this video.
730
00:35:38,000 --> 00:35:40,040
And you have no idea where it is. Yeah.
731
00:35:40,040 --> 00:35:44,080
OK, you know what? I think I'm on your side because more or less
732
00:35:44,400 --> 00:35:45,800
even the scenario.
733
00:35:45,800 --> 00:35:49,440
Here's the thing. Tommy and his girlfriend, they had been together for a while.
734
00:35:49,560 --> 00:35:51,160
He loved this bitch.
735
00:35:51,160 --> 00:35:53,360
This was his bitch. Right. Yeah.
736
00:35:54,240 --> 00:35:57,960
Now, you know, he this was the woman he was in love with.
737
00:35:58,240 --> 00:36:00,600
They had a long term relationship.
738
00:36:00,600 --> 00:36:03,520
He's generally genuinely broken up
739
00:36:03,920 --> 00:36:06,600
about this situation that she ends up breaking up.
740
00:36:06,840 --> 00:36:08,920
And yeah, they had other problems that were brewing.
741
00:36:08,920 --> 00:36:11,600
And this was like the straw that broke the camel's back. Right. Sure.
742
00:36:12,080 --> 00:36:14,200
Whereas spud.
743
00:36:14,200 --> 00:36:16,760
Is that an embarrassing situation? Sure.
744
00:36:17,000 --> 00:36:19,880
He was so drunk, he wouldn't have even remembered having sex.
745
00:36:19,880 --> 00:36:22,000
Had he managed to have sex with her? Sure.
746
00:36:23,120 --> 00:36:27,760
Did he get shit all over her parents and her while they were eating breakfast?
747
00:36:27,800 --> 00:36:30,400
Yes. Is that embarrassing? Sure. Uh huh.
748
00:36:30,560 --> 00:36:31,560
But really bad.
749
00:36:31,560 --> 00:36:34,240
He had been dating this girl for six weeks. Uh huh.
750
00:36:35,200 --> 00:36:37,560
It's not it's just not that big of a deal.
751
00:36:37,560 --> 00:36:40,920
So you know what I think? Yeah, I think I think it goes.
752
00:36:40,920 --> 00:36:42,840
Mark had the best night.
753
00:36:42,840 --> 00:36:45,320
Spud had the middle night.
754
00:36:45,840 --> 00:36:47,360
Tommy had the worst night. Yeah.
755
00:36:47,360 --> 00:36:49,760
Staggitory is the best. Yep.
756
00:36:49,800 --> 00:36:51,760
Shit on the in-laws.
757
00:36:51,760 --> 00:36:54,280
That's middle middle losing the sex tape.
758
00:36:54,840 --> 00:36:56,920
Yeah, that's worse. Yeah.
759
00:36:56,920 --> 00:36:59,280
Yep. All right. Cool. Glad. Glad we cleared that up.
760
00:36:59,280 --> 00:37:00,440
I was just curious.
761
00:37:00,440 --> 00:37:03,360
I figured it would it would be a fun topic to discuss.
762
00:37:03,560 --> 00:37:06,440
Yeah, I did. That was a fun thought experiment. Yeah.
763
00:37:06,440 --> 00:37:08,080
Oh, man. Talking about the actors.
764
00:37:08,080 --> 00:37:10,160
So there's a couple other, I think, surprises.
765
00:37:10,680 --> 00:37:13,800
One good one. Johnny Lee Miller. Right.
766
00:37:14,360 --> 00:37:17,200
He was in something else we reviewed not that long ago.
767
00:37:17,200 --> 00:37:19,600
Do you recall what it was?
768
00:37:21,000 --> 00:37:22,760
I know him from Dexter.
769
00:37:22,760 --> 00:37:24,800
He was hackers. He was in hackers.
770
00:37:24,800 --> 00:37:27,680
He's definitely in. He's Jordan.
771
00:37:29,440 --> 00:37:31,640
Gosh, Jordan something in Dexter.
772
00:37:31,640 --> 00:37:33,080
Let me see. I got to pull it up here.
773
00:37:33,080 --> 00:37:35,280
He's the bad guy for season. Jordan Chase. Yeah.
774
00:37:35,280 --> 00:37:37,400
Yeah, he's the bad guy. Worse season of Dexter.
775
00:37:37,400 --> 00:37:41,280
I would agree. But actually, I rewatched it not that long ago.
776
00:37:41,360 --> 00:37:43,960
Oh, yeah. It's still good, though.
777
00:37:44,120 --> 00:37:45,480
Sure. Like it's still a good season.
778
00:37:45,480 --> 00:37:48,600
I do think it's one of the less good seasons of Dexter.
779
00:37:48,600 --> 00:37:50,960
It's such a drop off from season four.
780
00:37:50,960 --> 00:37:52,920
The Trinity Killer was such a peak.
781
00:37:52,920 --> 00:37:54,240
I think we've talked about this before.
782
00:37:54,240 --> 00:37:57,520
I feel like Dexter kind of comes and goes like season one was pretty good.
783
00:37:57,840 --> 00:38:00,880
Season two, not as good season three. Good.
784
00:38:01,760 --> 00:38:03,200
Or maybe the opposite.
785
00:38:03,200 --> 00:38:06,400
Season two was really good. Season three, not as good.
786
00:38:06,400 --> 00:38:07,760
Season four, really good.
787
00:38:07,760 --> 00:38:10,480
Season five dropped off season six. Fucking awesome.
788
00:38:10,480 --> 00:38:14,960
Like it kind of it kind of ebbed and flowed the whole series. Sure.
789
00:38:15,640 --> 00:38:17,560
But yeah, he played Jordan Chase in Dexter.
790
00:38:17,560 --> 00:38:19,880
And yes, he was in hackers.
791
00:38:20,800 --> 00:38:23,640
And then also the guy who plays
792
00:38:23,720 --> 00:38:26,960
just the absolute fucking wild card in this film.
793
00:38:27,560 --> 00:38:30,360
He plays Begbie. Yeah. Robert Carlyle.
794
00:38:30,400 --> 00:38:32,520
Robert Carlyle.
795
00:38:32,520 --> 00:38:38,120
If you recognize him, most notably, he's from he's the guy in 28 Days Later,
796
00:38:39,360 --> 00:38:41,920
which was directed by Danny Boyle.
797
00:38:41,920 --> 00:38:43,880
Yes. So I.
798
00:38:45,120 --> 00:38:47,600
Have seen 28 Days Later.
799
00:38:48,440 --> 00:38:49,960
I'm trying to interesting.
800
00:38:49,960 --> 00:38:52,280
OK, yeah, I've seen 28 Days Later.
801
00:38:52,280 --> 00:38:55,520
I actually really liked 28 Days Later.
802
00:38:56,320 --> 00:38:59,800
Yeah, it's kind of that was the first movie to do like fast zombies.
803
00:38:59,800 --> 00:39:02,760
Right. Yeah, maybe not 28 Days.
804
00:39:02,760 --> 00:39:06,320
He was in. I like. Oh, he was not in 28 Days Later.
805
00:39:06,320 --> 00:39:08,720
I like using 28 Weeks Later.
806
00:39:08,880 --> 00:39:11,040
That one I saw, but I.
807
00:39:11,040 --> 00:39:13,000
Which was not the Danny Boyle film.
808
00:39:13,000 --> 00:39:15,600
So everything I said was bullshit. I'm sorry.
809
00:39:17,040 --> 00:39:20,920
Yeah, that one I saw, but I don't remember him in it.
810
00:39:20,960 --> 00:39:23,120
I I don't remember him in it.
811
00:39:23,120 --> 00:39:26,480
I also he was the main character in 28 Weeks Later.
812
00:39:26,520 --> 00:39:29,080
Well, then I don't remember much about that movie.
813
00:39:29,080 --> 00:39:30,040
It would seem.
814
00:39:31,600 --> 00:39:33,280
He played a guy named Don.
815
00:39:33,280 --> 00:39:37,360
Yeah, I was about to say that I knew that Killian Murphy wasn't the main actor in it.
816
00:39:37,880 --> 00:39:41,320
And that would make sense because this guy's the main actor.
817
00:39:41,320 --> 00:39:43,160
And yeah, so all right.
818
00:39:43,160 --> 00:39:44,800
Yeah, there we go.
819
00:39:44,800 --> 00:39:48,400
But I believe he is in this new one that's coming out 28 Years Later.
820
00:39:48,440 --> 00:39:50,400
OK, let's see.
821
00:39:51,240 --> 00:39:53,680
Yeah, it seems like he's coming back for.
822
00:39:55,040 --> 00:39:57,280
Maybe I'm lying again.
823
00:39:57,280 --> 00:39:58,760
Yep, lying again.
824
00:39:58,760 --> 00:39:59,920
I can't believe you, Thor.
825
00:39:59,920 --> 00:40:02,280
Wait, hold on. Upcoming.
826
00:40:02,640 --> 00:40:04,600
Toxic Town, nope.
827
00:40:05,440 --> 00:40:07,680
Holy crap, he was in yesterday, though.
828
00:40:08,520 --> 00:40:11,960
He played John Lennon uncredited in yesterday.
829
00:40:13,880 --> 00:40:16,680
We we need to address something real quick.
830
00:40:16,760 --> 00:40:19,520
OK, this movie has a sequel.
831
00:40:19,520 --> 00:40:22,080
Yeah, I saw it as I was looking through here.
832
00:40:22,560 --> 00:40:25,280
It looks like Trainspotting T2 is what it's called.
833
00:40:25,280 --> 00:40:27,960
Yeah, and it it has.
834
00:40:27,960 --> 00:40:30,720
Uh, it has Ewan McGregor in it.
835
00:40:31,680 --> 00:40:32,560
Oh, OK.
836
00:40:32,560 --> 00:40:33,360
Yeah, it's got him.
837
00:40:33,360 --> 00:40:34,680
It's got the guy who plays spud.
838
00:40:34,680 --> 00:40:35,400
It's got the guy.
839
00:40:35,400 --> 00:40:37,680
It's got Johnny Lee Miller in it and it's got Robert Carlyle.
840
00:40:37,760 --> 00:40:39,200
OK, so they just brought the whole.
841
00:40:39,200 --> 00:40:42,240
They brought the whole cast back or like the of that main group.
842
00:40:43,040 --> 00:40:45,040
That's kind of wild.
843
00:40:45,400 --> 00:40:49,200
I'm I don't know if I'm interested in seeing it like I'm intrigued,
844
00:40:50,040 --> 00:40:52,720
but I don't I don't know.
845
00:40:54,480 --> 00:40:55,040
I don't know.
846
00:40:55,040 --> 00:40:56,320
2017, it came out.
847
00:40:56,320 --> 00:40:58,280
Holy crap. Wow.
848
00:40:58,480 --> 00:40:59,320
I didn't realize that.
849
00:40:59,320 --> 00:41:00,080
We really.
850
00:41:00,080 --> 00:41:03,520
Mm hmm. That's what I am to be saying.
851
00:41:03,520 --> 00:41:05,320
That's a little wild.
852
00:41:06,400 --> 00:41:07,520
Robert Carlyle, did you know?
853
00:41:07,520 --> 00:41:11,160
I don't see why would you need more of this?
854
00:41:11,200 --> 00:41:13,300
You don't. You don't need more of this movie.
855
00:41:13,300 --> 00:41:17,640
Like, I think it's kind of like a perfect, like little encapsulated story.
856
00:41:17,680 --> 00:41:18,680
Did this guy play?
857
00:41:18,680 --> 00:41:20,340
Did Robert Carlyle play?
858
00:41:20,340 --> 00:41:24,400
Was he in Once Upon a Time, the Once Upon a Time TV show?
859
00:41:24,400 --> 00:41:26,300
Did you watch that? I doubt it's not your thing.
860
00:41:26,300 --> 00:41:30,520
But maybe Kendra's watch is that is that the one where they do like fairy tales?
861
00:41:30,520 --> 00:41:31,520
It's all fairy tale.
862
00:41:31,520 --> 00:41:32,320
I'm familiar with it.
863
00:41:32,320 --> 00:41:34,380
I did not watch it, though.
864
00:41:34,380 --> 00:41:39,260
So Rumpelstiltskin is one of the main villains
865
00:41:39,260 --> 00:41:42,000
slash antagonists of that show.
866
00:41:43,400 --> 00:41:45,400
Once Upon a Time.
867
00:41:47,240 --> 00:41:50,900
Now I've got to look and see if it's it is him.
868
00:41:51,600 --> 00:41:53,140
Yep, he plays a character in Mr.
869
00:41:53,140 --> 00:41:56,140
Gold, who is Rumpelstiltskin.
870
00:41:56,140 --> 00:41:57,140
OK, OK.
871
00:41:57,140 --> 00:41:59,920
So that's why he looks familiar to me.
872
00:41:59,920 --> 00:42:03,220
That's wild. OK.
873
00:42:05,360 --> 00:42:08,260
All right. Yeah, cast was interesting.
874
00:42:08,260 --> 00:42:12,360
Also, you know who I really liked in this was Kelly McDonald,
875
00:42:13,260 --> 00:42:17,860
who plays Diane, who plays the underage girl that Renton ends up sleeping with.
876
00:42:17,860 --> 00:42:20,700
Yeah, no. Yeah, actually, I think it's a really great character.
877
00:42:20,700 --> 00:42:24,500
I kind of love this idea for being like, will I see you again?
878
00:42:24,500 --> 00:42:26,700
He's like, no, you're a fucking hot.
879
00:42:26,700 --> 00:42:31,580
And she's like, well, if I you don't come and like go out on a date with me again,
880
00:42:31,580 --> 00:42:33,220
I'm going to tell the police.
881
00:42:33,220 --> 00:42:36,580
Yeah, she was in no country for old men. OK.
882
00:42:36,780 --> 00:42:38,360
I don't know if you've seen that movie. Yes.
883
00:42:38,360 --> 00:42:42,160
But she played the wife of.
884
00:42:44,520 --> 00:42:46,720
My gosh, of.
885
00:42:48,160 --> 00:42:50,560
His name is escaping me, Josh Brolin.
886
00:42:50,560 --> 00:42:53,400
He played. She played Josh Brolin's wife.
887
00:42:53,400 --> 00:42:55,340
She did a really good job in that movie.
888
00:42:55,340 --> 00:42:58,280
That was the first thing that I really recognized where she like stuck out to me
889
00:42:58,280 --> 00:43:01,940
as she was also the voice of Merida, the main character in the movie Brave,
890
00:43:02,120 --> 00:43:04,120
the Disney movie Brave. Oh, wow. OK.
891
00:43:04,120 --> 00:43:06,220
Yeah, I didn't recognize her at all.
892
00:43:06,220 --> 00:43:07,520
OK, now I'm pulling her up.
893
00:43:07,520 --> 00:43:10,260
Yeah, the face looks familiar. Yeah.
894
00:43:10,260 --> 00:43:13,620
Let's see what I know her from because the face looks super familiar.
895
00:43:15,200 --> 00:43:19,760
And I, you know, I am not sure Holmes and Watson, maybe that I don't
896
00:43:19,960 --> 00:43:22,200
I don't even I don't know if I black mirror.
897
00:43:22,200 --> 00:43:24,540
She's in a black mirror episode. Hmm.
898
00:43:26,480 --> 00:43:29,540
OK, she's oh, she's Helen, a Ravenclaw in Harry Potter.
899
00:43:29,540 --> 00:43:32,080
Definitely. Oh, yeah. Yeah, she is. OK.
900
00:43:32,440 --> 00:43:34,440
Yeah. Now that you say that.
901
00:43:34,440 --> 00:43:37,620
Yeah, I don't necessarily think I know where that's probably from.
902
00:43:37,620 --> 00:43:39,920
Harry Potter that I know.
903
00:43:39,920 --> 00:43:41,680
Her face certainly looks familiar.
904
00:43:41,680 --> 00:43:44,760
I did not recognize her as a young woman, though. Yeah.
905
00:43:46,220 --> 00:43:50,160
Oh, yeah. So this was kind of an intense movie.
906
00:43:50,160 --> 00:43:51,360
Yeah, I find it interesting.
907
00:43:51,360 --> 00:43:54,740
One of the things I found interesting about this movie is how often it kind of
908
00:43:54,740 --> 00:44:00,040
like has these these moments because it's a very like
909
00:44:00,840 --> 00:44:05,180
it's not like a fantasy movie in any way, but you have these like moments where.
910
00:44:06,680 --> 00:44:10,580
It kind of like gets fantastical almost like when
911
00:44:11,720 --> 00:44:14,620
when he gets the like time release
912
00:44:14,620 --> 00:44:18,120
suppositories, he would have funny scene where he's like
913
00:44:18,120 --> 00:44:21,560
when he's first trying to quit heroin and he's like
914
00:44:23,200 --> 00:44:27,600
to get off it, he he goes to his guy just to get like one last hit.
915
00:44:27,600 --> 00:44:31,540
And all the guy has is these like suppositories, these opioids,
916
00:44:31,540 --> 00:44:33,240
release capsules. Yeah.
917
00:44:33,240 --> 00:44:35,240
And so he's like.
918
00:44:35,600 --> 00:44:37,640
You know, having
919
00:44:37,640 --> 00:44:41,740
heroin makes you constipated and he's walking, he's like all of a sudden just
920
00:44:42,720 --> 00:44:47,480
like curls over and he's like no longer constipated.
921
00:44:47,480 --> 00:44:50,920
He has to run to find a toilet and he shits out his suppositories.
922
00:44:50,920 --> 00:44:52,280
He just put in his ass.
923
00:44:52,280 --> 00:44:55,620
So then he has to dig in this disgusting toilet.
924
00:44:55,660 --> 00:44:58,120
The grossest toilet I have ever seen in my life.
925
00:44:58,320 --> 00:45:02,200
And as he's digging, he just his whole body goes into the toilet
926
00:45:02,200 --> 00:45:04,920
and he's in this like underwater scene.
927
00:45:04,920 --> 00:45:06,000
Yeah, it was an interesting.
928
00:45:06,000 --> 00:45:10,240
So there's a lot of these moments or there's a point where he's standing on
929
00:45:11,000 --> 00:45:16,040
on a wall and he jumps off and he just lands in his heroin dealer's house.
930
00:45:16,040 --> 00:45:19,820
Yeah, there there were some neat things
931
00:45:20,580 --> 00:45:23,840
cinematically done in this directorial done like the scene
932
00:45:23,840 --> 00:45:27,820
that you were talking about, where he just takes a hit and then he lays down
933
00:45:27,820 --> 00:45:30,180
and kind of like falls through the floor.
934
00:45:30,180 --> 00:45:33,020
Yeah, visually, there were some neat things that were happening through there.
935
00:45:33,020 --> 00:45:34,580
I agree. Yeah.
936
00:45:34,580 --> 00:45:38,300
Which is why I think I was so back and forth with this
937
00:45:38,300 --> 00:45:41,560
because some of it hit really hard, but then other times I'm like, oh, wow,
938
00:45:41,560 --> 00:45:43,000
that was really cool.
939
00:45:43,000 --> 00:45:44,460
This was a really cool scene.
940
00:45:44,460 --> 00:45:47,540
Or I think that.
941
00:45:47,600 --> 00:45:50,380
Along with him kind of falling through the floor
942
00:45:51,000 --> 00:45:53,980
is a scene where it is when he's actually
943
00:45:54,380 --> 00:45:58,580
injecting the needle into his veins and you have a viewpoint.
944
00:45:58,880 --> 00:46:04,160
The camera is inside the needle and you just see the like all of us
945
00:46:04,160 --> 00:46:06,920
were leaving the syringe from inside the syringe.
946
00:46:06,960 --> 00:46:07,920
Very cool.
947
00:46:07,920 --> 00:46:11,360
On top of that, you also see all the like dirt in there, too,
948
00:46:11,600 --> 00:46:14,060
because that's the thing is like you like mix.
949
00:46:14,060 --> 00:46:17,300
It's to the best of my knowledge, like when you like shoot up heroin,
950
00:46:17,300 --> 00:46:20,900
you like mix it with other shit to give it like more substance or something.
951
00:46:20,900 --> 00:46:24,200
So it's like, yeah, but there's like dirt at the bottom of the needle.
952
00:46:24,200 --> 00:46:26,940
It's very guys is going. Yeah, it's.
953
00:46:26,940 --> 00:46:31,940
Yeah, it feels like in full disclosure, I've never been on heroin.
954
00:46:31,940 --> 00:46:35,480
I'm not a me either. Not a heroin guy. Yeah, me either.
955
00:46:37,420 --> 00:46:42,560
So I don't know how true this is to this, to like that experience,
956
00:46:42,560 --> 00:46:45,660
but it felt grounded in reality.
957
00:46:46,060 --> 00:46:48,760
It felt like kind of like an honest take of like.
958
00:46:49,760 --> 00:46:52,700
Well, like I love the dialogue of this film, too,
959
00:46:52,900 --> 00:46:56,700
where he's kind of talking about like everything,
960
00:46:57,500 --> 00:46:59,680
everything that you think is important.
961
00:46:59,680 --> 00:47:02,280
I love the line where he goes.
962
00:47:02,280 --> 00:47:06,380
The awesome thing about heroin is you don't give a shit about your job
963
00:47:06,580 --> 00:47:08,980
or your friends or your relationships.
964
00:47:08,980 --> 00:47:10,280
You don't have to worry about that.
965
00:47:10,280 --> 00:47:12,720
There's only one thing you got to worry about.
966
00:47:13,060 --> 00:47:15,260
Where am I going to score my next hit?
967
00:47:15,260 --> 00:47:17,860
Yeah, basically like. Yeah, that was an interesting.
968
00:47:18,120 --> 00:47:21,320
It just felt and like I am familiar with addiction
969
00:47:21,960 --> 00:47:24,700
like from other just not like specific like once again,
970
00:47:24,700 --> 00:47:27,160
never specifically been addicted to heroin.
971
00:47:27,460 --> 00:47:30,500
So I can't speak to like the truth of it or anything, but like.
972
00:47:33,140 --> 00:47:39,280
It is certainly felt all grounded in like reality and kind of like
973
00:47:39,280 --> 00:47:43,120
I think that's oftentimes lost on people is like, I don't get why people are,
974
00:47:43,520 --> 00:47:47,620
you know, we have an opioid epidemic epidemic currently in our country.
975
00:47:47,680 --> 00:47:52,100
Like and I think a lot of people from the outside look in our inner
976
00:47:52,100 --> 00:47:53,700
like I don't understand it.
977
00:47:53,700 --> 00:47:59,200
And I do like that kind of like look of like, yeah, it's the best thing ever.
978
00:47:59,200 --> 00:48:00,660
It's better than sex.
979
00:48:00,660 --> 00:48:02,360
It's the best thing of all time.
980
00:48:02,360 --> 00:48:04,840
It's the greatest feeling in the world.
981
00:48:04,840 --> 00:48:07,840
Like, yeah, it scares me, to be honest.
982
00:48:07,840 --> 00:48:11,400
So like, I think it should probably I think there's a lot of evidence
983
00:48:11,400 --> 00:48:13,340
to support that it should.
984
00:48:13,340 --> 00:48:16,180
Like it's just such a spooky thing to me.
985
00:48:18,180 --> 00:48:20,880
Yeah, thankfully, it's it's never had an appeal to me.
986
00:48:21,140 --> 00:48:23,080
I've had friends who.
987
00:48:23,380 --> 00:48:25,220
That type of stuff has. Yeah, but.
988
00:48:27,120 --> 00:48:28,760
Yeah, it's it's just kind of a wild thing.
989
00:48:28,760 --> 00:48:33,560
I I think overall I did enjoy like I did enjoy this movie.
990
00:48:33,860 --> 00:48:35,720
I like the hooliganism of them.
991
00:48:35,720 --> 00:48:39,100
Yeah, when they're running from the cops, when they're beating up a tourist
992
00:48:39,100 --> 00:48:41,800
on the first day of the Edinburgh Festival. Exactly.
993
00:48:42,700 --> 00:48:45,940
He just walks into the bathroom and they just all walk in behind
994
00:48:45,940 --> 00:48:48,340
the crap out of them and mug him. Take his money. Yeah.
995
00:48:49,080 --> 00:48:52,280
There's a lot of fun in this movie. There is very fun. Yeah.
996
00:48:52,280 --> 00:48:54,680
But there's also some real deep stuff, too.
997
00:48:54,680 --> 00:48:57,120
And I do think that it takes a good look at.
998
00:48:58,520 --> 00:49:00,420
The substance abuse.
999
00:49:00,420 --> 00:49:03,120
I mean, it clearly does not play a good role on any of them.
1000
00:49:03,120 --> 00:49:06,520
You know what I want to ask you about the last 20 minutes of this movie
1001
00:49:07,020 --> 00:49:09,420
where they kind of like
1002
00:49:09,420 --> 00:49:14,000
they come into this really cheap, like two bricks of heroin
1003
00:49:14,240 --> 00:49:16,060
that they're trying to unload in London.
1004
00:49:16,060 --> 00:49:17,740
So they go to London.
1005
00:49:17,740 --> 00:49:22,340
They they meet with this guy who's like a real serious drug dealer
1006
00:49:22,340 --> 00:49:25,380
and they try to haggle with them.
1007
00:49:26,080 --> 00:49:31,120
And the guy's like, I want or like, Begbie is like, I want 20 grand.
1008
00:49:31,120 --> 00:49:32,920
He's like, I'll give you 15.
1009
00:49:32,920 --> 00:49:35,220
He's like, well, 17.5. No.
1010
00:49:35,220 --> 00:49:38,620
OK, well, fucking 16, then he's like, well, fucking 16.
1011
00:49:38,620 --> 00:49:41,720
It is like he literally just haggles himself down.
1012
00:49:42,160 --> 00:49:44,260
The guy doesn't really say anything. Yeah.
1013
00:49:45,300 --> 00:49:48,660
Hilarious. And then.
1014
00:49:49,400 --> 00:49:53,000
Like the whole thing is like you and McGregor is trying to like
1015
00:49:53,000 --> 00:49:55,900
get out of this life and he's like, I don't even really want to be friends
1016
00:49:55,900 --> 00:49:57,500
with these people. Sure.
1017
00:49:57,500 --> 00:50:01,240
What do you think about the ending scene when he steals all the money
1018
00:50:01,240 --> 00:50:04,980
from his friends and runs like and how the movie ends, where he's like,
1019
00:50:05,220 --> 00:50:08,120
I'm going to take this money and I go live a better life.
1020
00:50:08,120 --> 00:50:09,520
What do you think about all that?
1021
00:50:09,520 --> 00:50:14,700
So I almost I almost that scene, not specifically that, but when
1022
00:50:14,900 --> 00:50:17,460
when the the
1023
00:50:17,860 --> 00:50:20,100
when they were in the situation where they were getting back into it
1024
00:50:20,100 --> 00:50:23,840
and then you and McGregor happened, Renton happened to be the person
1025
00:50:24,160 --> 00:50:27,040
to have to try the quality of the stuff.
1026
00:50:27,040 --> 00:50:31,880
Yeah, I immediately that almost ruined the movie for me because
1027
00:50:31,940 --> 00:50:35,120
because if he would have then just gotten hooked again
1028
00:50:35,280 --> 00:50:38,120
and that's how the movie would have ended, I'd have been furious.
1029
00:50:38,480 --> 00:50:40,820
OK, I really would have hated it.
1030
00:50:40,820 --> 00:50:44,560
So I really like that he didn't go down that route.
1031
00:50:45,120 --> 00:50:50,120
And honestly, I don't have too much of a thought about him.
1032
00:50:50,160 --> 00:50:52,960
Point I'm making is like, do you think that?
1033
00:50:52,960 --> 00:50:58,100
OK, because basically the thing is he stole like 16000 pounds
1034
00:50:58,100 --> 00:51:00,860
from his friends. Sure. Right. Yeah.
1035
00:51:00,860 --> 00:51:04,400
And but immediately after he tries it, he's like, well, I had to do
1036
00:51:04,400 --> 00:51:06,440
a little bit more before we went to London.
1037
00:51:06,440 --> 00:51:10,140
He goes into the bathroom on the bus to shoot heroin again. Yeah.
1038
00:51:10,640 --> 00:51:14,580
So like that was kind of the funniest part of that is he's like
1039
00:51:14,840 --> 00:51:17,420
he steals the money because he's like, I'm going to go
1040
00:51:17,420 --> 00:51:19,360
make a better life for myself.
1041
00:51:19,360 --> 00:51:22,380
Do you think he actually did that?
1042
00:51:22,380 --> 00:51:25,960
Like because for me, I'm like, no, he just always makes the worst decision.
1043
00:51:25,960 --> 00:51:29,100
He's going to shoot all of that money into his arm.
1044
00:51:29,260 --> 00:51:30,460
That's what he's going to do.
1045
00:51:30,460 --> 00:51:32,300
I hope that that's not the case.
1046
00:51:32,300 --> 00:51:34,300
I hope that that's the case.
1047
00:51:34,300 --> 00:51:35,660
I hope that it's not, though.
1048
00:51:35,660 --> 00:51:39,680
I am choosing to think that he is not going to do that
1049
00:51:40,100 --> 00:51:43,900
because I feel like so much of the movie is him trying to get away
1050
00:51:43,900 --> 00:51:48,120
from those people. And as the movie goes on, he likes them less and less
1051
00:51:48,120 --> 00:51:49,220
and less. Right.
1052
00:51:49,220 --> 00:51:50,580
Because then he goes and moves to London.
1053
00:51:50,580 --> 00:51:54,060
That's certainly certainly a theme of the movie.
1054
00:51:54,220 --> 00:51:57,520
Yeah. He goes to London and then they just like track him down
1055
00:51:57,520 --> 00:51:59,120
and they start squatting in his apartment.
1056
00:51:59,120 --> 00:52:01,520
Yeah. And he's basically because they're his friends.
1057
00:52:01,520 --> 00:52:04,500
So he feels like this obligation to let him hang out.
1058
00:52:04,500 --> 00:52:07,400
And he can't just speak up and say, get the fuck out.
1059
00:52:07,440 --> 00:52:09,060
I don't want to be part of this anymore.
1060
00:52:09,060 --> 00:52:10,700
Yeah. But but they're not his friends.
1061
00:52:10,700 --> 00:52:12,700
They're just in his world at that. Yeah. Right.
1062
00:52:12,700 --> 00:52:13,540
Yeah. And I like it.
1063
00:52:13,540 --> 00:52:17,240
He even like mentions the part where he's like they were just hanging out,
1064
00:52:17,240 --> 00:52:19,980
just seeing what they could steal. Yeah.
1065
00:52:19,980 --> 00:52:22,860
So so him swiping the money.
1066
00:52:22,980 --> 00:52:26,460
I hope that he swipes the money and goes and makes a better life for himself.
1067
00:52:26,460 --> 00:52:27,620
Like he says he's going to.
1068
00:52:27,620 --> 00:52:31,100
I hope that he actually has the realization like
1069
00:52:31,700 --> 00:52:33,140
I don't like these people.
1070
00:52:33,140 --> 00:52:35,660
I need to get out of this circle.
1071
00:52:35,660 --> 00:52:37,100
This is it type of thing.
1072
00:52:37,100 --> 00:52:39,600
I would like to believe that that's what happens.
1073
00:52:39,840 --> 00:52:41,600
But there's a sequel to the movie.
1074
00:52:41,600 --> 00:52:42,980
So I don't know if that happens.
1075
00:52:42,980 --> 00:52:46,880
Also, but even like without the sequel, without knowing there's a sequel, like
1076
00:52:46,880 --> 00:52:49,940
he could have just taken his cut.
1077
00:52:49,940 --> 00:52:51,840
He still made a profit.
1078
00:52:51,840 --> 00:52:53,720
He could have just taken his cut.
1079
00:52:53,720 --> 00:52:54,740
Yeah, but there's some bags.
1080
00:52:54,740 --> 00:52:57,720
He could have just taken his cut and left and made his own life
1081
00:52:57,720 --> 00:52:59,820
and cut them out of his life.
1082
00:52:59,820 --> 00:53:02,460
The way he did it was scumbag.
1083
00:53:02,460 --> 00:53:04,120
Are you back to? Yeah.
1084
00:53:04,120 --> 00:53:06,400
Scumbaggery going back to his old ways.
1085
00:53:06,400 --> 00:53:09,900
That's why I like for me, the ultimate joke of the movie is like him
1086
00:53:09,960 --> 00:53:13,600
continuing to tell himself still, oh, I'm going to be a better person.
1087
00:53:13,600 --> 00:53:19,200
When in reality, he's not like to me, I didn't take any hopefulness away from.
1088
00:53:19,340 --> 00:53:20,580
I was like, I saw it.
1089
00:53:20,580 --> 00:53:23,780
I was like, oh, no, he's just going to shoot it all up because
1090
00:53:24,440 --> 00:53:26,720
yeah, he's just still lying to himself.
1091
00:53:26,740 --> 00:53:27,680
It's not the case.
1092
00:53:27,680 --> 00:53:29,420
I took it as you know what?
1093
00:53:29,420 --> 00:53:30,560
These people aren't my friends.
1094
00:53:30,560 --> 00:53:33,020
I don't care if I screw them over because.
1095
00:53:34,260 --> 00:53:36,760
My experience has not been great with them.
1096
00:53:36,800 --> 00:53:38,920
Yeah, like like they're not good people.
1097
00:53:39,620 --> 00:53:41,460
Is this a good thing that I'm doing?
1098
00:53:41,460 --> 00:53:44,500
No. Does it really matter, though, because they're all pieces of shit.
1099
00:53:45,460 --> 00:53:48,040
That's kind of like the morally gray area that
1100
00:53:49,340 --> 00:53:50,900
that was so free.
1101
00:53:50,900 --> 00:53:53,240
In any case, that's kind of where where my thoughts are.
1102
00:53:53,280 --> 00:53:54,140
But I don't know.
1103
00:53:54,140 --> 00:53:56,520
Maybe we'll watch the sequel and talk about it, and maybe he'll
1104
00:53:57,040 --> 00:53:59,420
shoot $16,000 into his arm.
1105
00:53:59,420 --> 00:54:00,720
I have no idea.
1106
00:54:00,720 --> 00:54:03,480
He definitely did. There's no way.
1107
00:54:03,480 --> 00:54:08,080
Well, we're at the point, man, where we got to we got to talk about ratings and.
1108
00:54:08,380 --> 00:54:10,120
OK, let's see.
1109
00:54:10,120 --> 00:54:11,720
I want to come up with a good one.
1110
00:54:11,720 --> 00:54:14,960
All right. A good one.
1111
00:54:14,960 --> 00:54:15,900
Good one.
1112
00:54:16,560 --> 00:54:17,760
Oh, OK, I got to Google.
1113
00:54:17,760 --> 00:54:19,300
I got to Google.
1114
00:54:19,300 --> 00:54:21,640
Oh, Google.
1115
00:54:23,000 --> 00:54:24,940
One of my favorite old websites.
1116
00:54:24,940 --> 00:54:27,600
Oh, geez. Or how many?
1117
00:54:29,100 --> 00:54:30,280
Milligrams.
1118
00:54:30,280 --> 00:54:33,340
I was going to regale the viewers with a.
1119
00:54:33,340 --> 00:54:34,940
I was just going to say, I'm just Googling.
1120
00:54:34,940 --> 00:54:37,240
How many milligrams do you shoot of heroin?
1121
00:54:37,280 --> 00:54:38,120
That's good.
1122
00:54:38,120 --> 00:54:41,160
That's good to have in your search recommendation.
1123
00:54:41,160 --> 00:54:45,100
So I was going to say that there used to be a website.
1124
00:54:45,400 --> 00:54:47,020
I don't think it exists anymore.
1125
00:54:47,020 --> 00:54:49,560
It was called Gezugle dot com.
1126
00:54:50,220 --> 00:54:54,440
It was GIZ O O G L E dot com. OK.
1127
00:54:57,060 --> 00:54:58,440
Go ahead, Thor.
1128
00:54:58,440 --> 00:55:01,140
OK, so I this is my exact Google search.
1129
00:55:01,780 --> 00:55:03,780
Exact Google search.
1130
00:55:03,780 --> 00:55:08,340
How many milligrams of heroin does a junkie shoot?
1131
00:55:08,720 --> 00:55:10,540
It's not even a search result.
1132
00:55:10,540 --> 00:55:14,460
It's like one of the Google, like suggested things that comes up.
1133
00:55:14,760 --> 00:55:17,480
And it just says, help is available.
1134
00:55:17,760 --> 00:55:19,860
Speak with somebody today.
1135
00:55:19,860 --> 00:55:23,020
Nine eight eight suicide in crisis lifeline
1136
00:55:23,900 --> 00:55:26,660
substance use support.
1137
00:55:26,660 --> 00:55:28,440
So it's just not giving you the.
1138
00:55:28,440 --> 00:55:29,800
Oh, well, I'm going to.
1139
00:55:29,800 --> 00:55:34,500
OK, heroin fast facts from United States Department of Justice.
1140
00:55:34,500 --> 00:55:36,640
Oh, my gosh.
1141
00:55:39,340 --> 00:55:41,180
Oh, fun. You want to know?
1142
00:55:41,180 --> 00:55:43,220
So it took me to the site
1143
00:55:43,220 --> 00:55:47,280
from the government that's like heroin fast facts for.
1144
00:55:47,680 --> 00:55:49,420
And it's like things like, what is heroin?
1145
00:55:49,420 --> 00:55:51,920
What does it look like? How is heroin abused?
1146
00:55:52,260 --> 00:55:53,560
What are the risks?
1147
00:55:53,560 --> 00:55:54,920
How is heroin abused?
1148
00:55:54,920 --> 00:55:56,700
Is there a way that you don't abuse heroin?
1149
00:55:56,700 --> 00:55:59,220
As one of those little like side in a different color,
1150
00:55:59,220 --> 00:56:02,860
like side like side notes and street terms for heroin.
1151
00:56:03,200 --> 00:56:04,760
You ready? I'm ready.
1152
00:56:04,760 --> 00:56:06,000
Hit me with H.
1153
00:56:06,000 --> 00:56:09,500
Boy, capital H, China, white Chiva.
1154
00:56:09,500 --> 00:56:11,400
Say China light China white.
1155
00:56:11,400 --> 00:56:13,240
Oh, OK. Chiva.
1156
00:56:13,240 --> 00:56:14,480
Dead on arrival.
1157
00:56:14,480 --> 00:56:17,380
Diesel dope eight good age.
1158
00:56:17,540 --> 00:56:20,680
H. Heldust horse junk.
1159
00:56:20,820 --> 00:56:27,480
Mexican horse mud, poppy, smack, thunder, train and white junk.
1160
00:56:27,480 --> 00:56:30,520
Why? Why are there so many names?
1161
00:56:30,520 --> 00:56:32,780
None of these answered my question.
1162
00:56:32,780 --> 00:56:35,180
Yeah, no, that's not going to answer your question.
1163
00:56:35,180 --> 00:56:36,920
Nobody has ever.
1164
00:56:36,920 --> 00:56:42,020
I just want to point out nobody has ever called heroin fucking thunder.
1165
00:56:42,020 --> 00:56:43,920
Thunder. Maybe they have.
1166
00:56:43,920 --> 00:56:46,260
You got some of that train.
1167
00:56:46,260 --> 00:56:48,800
You got some diesel like shut up.
1168
00:56:49,260 --> 00:56:52,200
Shut up, government. OK.
1169
00:56:52,200 --> 00:56:55,640
So anyway, this
1170
00:56:55,640 --> 00:57:00,640
Gazugal website would take any website that you had.
1171
00:57:00,640 --> 00:57:02,440
You could copy the URL of it.
1172
00:57:02,440 --> 00:57:04,420
Take it to Gazugal dot com.
1173
00:57:04,420 --> 00:57:08,120
Gazugal dot com, by the way, the two O's in Gazugal were rims
1174
00:57:08,560 --> 00:57:10,020
that were spinners.
1175
00:57:10,020 --> 00:57:13,860
And what that website would do is it would translate any website
1176
00:57:13,860 --> 00:57:17,200
that you put into it into Ebonics.
1177
00:57:17,200 --> 00:57:19,800
Oh, OK. Yeah, it was a lot.
1178
00:57:19,800 --> 00:57:21,700
Wait, so what does it translate into?
1179
00:57:21,700 --> 00:57:24,400
Does this website still exist? I don't think so.
1180
00:57:24,500 --> 00:57:25,140
I don't think so.
1181
00:57:25,140 --> 00:57:27,200
We should throw some phrases in there.
1182
00:57:27,200 --> 00:57:31,440
No. Yeah. But it would translate any website that you had.
1183
00:57:32,380 --> 00:57:35,280
It would basically reload the website, but instead of in English,
1184
00:57:35,520 --> 00:57:38,680
quote unquote, it would be an old translate for Ebonics.
1185
00:57:38,680 --> 00:57:42,520
Yes. Love it. 100 percent.
1186
00:57:42,520 --> 00:57:45,060
OK. Holy shit, it still exists.
1187
00:57:46,900 --> 00:57:47,800
OK.
1188
00:57:47,800 --> 00:57:51,800
OK. All right.
1189
00:57:51,800 --> 00:57:54,540
All right. All right. All right. All right.
1190
00:57:54,540 --> 00:57:55,440
Sorry, Thor.
1191
00:57:55,440 --> 00:57:57,780
Continue with your heroin search, please.
1192
00:57:57,780 --> 00:58:00,140
Dude, it's so hard to find out how much.
1193
00:58:02,320 --> 00:58:04,280
Oh, my God.
1194
00:58:04,280 --> 00:58:06,720
Come on. I can't find
1195
00:58:07,520 --> 00:58:11,780
because I was trying to find a scale of like, you know. Sure.
1196
00:58:12,620 --> 00:58:13,720
You know, many milligrams.
1197
00:58:13,720 --> 00:58:15,600
Milligrams. Yeah. How many milligrams?
1198
00:58:15,600 --> 00:58:20,460
But OK, it gave me an auto like kind of like an auto search.
1199
00:58:21,400 --> 00:58:25,440
Let's try how much heroin was in Kurt Cobain system.
1200
00:58:27,140 --> 00:58:28,580
So I'm trying to use this website.
1201
00:58:28,580 --> 00:58:30,640
We're on two different pages right now. I apologize.
1202
00:58:30,640 --> 00:58:33,280
You know, OK, while you're looking for that. Yeah.
1203
00:58:33,620 --> 00:58:34,840
I got a scale for you.
1204
00:58:34,840 --> 00:58:37,320
So we're going to rate this movie.
1205
00:58:38,420 --> 00:58:40,820
On a scale scale of one
1206
00:58:40,820 --> 00:58:47,020
to a thousand grams of heroin, because a kilogram is a thousand grams.
1207
00:58:47,280 --> 00:58:48,720
That's how the metric system works.
1208
00:58:48,720 --> 00:58:52,120
That is on a scale of one to a thousand grams of heroin.
1209
00:58:53,320 --> 00:58:55,900
How much heroin are you going to do, Micah?
1210
00:58:55,920 --> 00:58:58,100
I'm not going to do any.
1211
00:58:58,100 --> 00:59:00,200
But is this a negative scale?
1212
00:59:00,200 --> 00:59:02,260
Like, is this golf score? Nope. Nope.
1213
00:59:02,260 --> 00:59:06,400
Can you do this whole kilo of heroin? No, not at all.
1214
00:59:06,400 --> 00:59:09,040
Of thunder. Can you do how much thunder?
1215
00:59:09,040 --> 00:59:11,140
Thunder you got to do under can you do?
1216
00:59:12,180 --> 00:59:14,340
I don't like this scale.
1217
00:59:17,340 --> 00:59:23,620
Noted. So purely on recommending this movie.
1218
00:59:25,460 --> 00:59:28,260
What is it? 500 out of a thousand,
1219
00:59:28,720 --> 00:59:31,320
because I would say the equivalent of a five out of 10.
1220
00:59:31,760 --> 00:59:34,260
OK, because there were things that I liked about this movie
1221
00:59:34,860 --> 00:59:36,660
and then there were things that I didn't like about this.
1222
00:59:36,660 --> 00:59:39,000
You know what? Six out of 10. OK.
1223
00:59:39,000 --> 00:59:41,400
Because I do think overall, I liked it.
1224
00:59:41,400 --> 00:59:43,980
I didn't care for I just.
1225
00:59:46,080 --> 00:59:48,880
When there's not much to root for, I have a tough time
1226
00:59:49,380 --> 00:59:51,820
getting enjoyment out of the film. That's right.
1227
00:59:51,920 --> 00:59:54,980
So so there wasn't much to root for. I really.
1228
00:59:56,280 --> 01:00:00,460
Did not care for the dead baby scene.
1229
01:00:00,880 --> 01:00:04,520
Yeah. And but it was an interesting movie.
1230
01:00:04,620 --> 01:00:07,860
I didn't make him haunted by the dead baby. Yes. Yeah.
1231
01:00:07,860 --> 01:00:09,360
And they didn't make light of it. Right.
1232
01:00:09,360 --> 01:00:10,300
And I appreciate that.
1233
01:00:10,300 --> 01:00:12,800
Like the severity of that did have repercussions.
1234
01:00:12,820 --> 01:00:15,260
It totally shifted the tone of the film. So.
1235
01:00:16,740 --> 01:00:21,700
So I liked that they took it for what it was as far as how serious it was.
1236
01:00:22,700 --> 01:00:24,600
Overall, I would say that I liked it.
1237
01:00:24,600 --> 01:00:26,880
I don't think I'm ever going to want to watch it again. OK.
1238
01:00:28,620 --> 01:00:32,720
Unless somebody has a real big hankering for it
1239
01:00:32,720 --> 01:00:35,380
and wants me to watch it with them for some reason.
1240
01:00:35,480 --> 01:00:37,260
Yeah. Like, OK, I guess.
1241
01:00:37,260 --> 01:00:38,660
But I'm not going to seek it out.
1242
01:00:38,660 --> 01:00:41,220
I'm weirdly intrigued that there's a sequel.
1243
01:00:41,220 --> 01:00:44,560
Yeah. Yeah, me too. Like, where do you take this? Yeah.
1244
01:00:44,620 --> 01:00:46,860
It's also like 20 years later. Exactly.
1245
01:00:46,860 --> 01:00:49,200
Which is interesting. Yeah. So.
1246
01:00:49,200 --> 01:00:51,500
So for what that's worth.
1247
01:00:52,860 --> 01:00:54,680
That's that's kind of where I'm at with it.
1248
01:00:54,680 --> 01:00:58,080
I would say six out of 10 or 600 out of a thousand.
1249
01:00:58,100 --> 01:01:00,200
Yeah. Six hundred milligrams of heroin.
1250
01:01:00,200 --> 01:01:02,020
That's how much Micah is going to do.
1251
01:01:02,020 --> 01:01:04,440
I'm not. And I don't like the scale, but
1252
01:01:04,440 --> 01:01:07,500
but that's where we're at.
1253
01:01:07,500 --> 01:01:08,980
OK. Yeah. No.
1254
01:01:08,980 --> 01:01:13,480
Since this was a listener recommendation, I'll I think I'm probably a little higher.
1255
01:01:13,480 --> 01:01:17,580
I'm probably like 750 grams of heroin. OK.
1256
01:01:18,220 --> 01:01:23,060
I really like because I think it is a lot of it is a fun movie.
1257
01:01:23,060 --> 01:01:26,020
I think it's a really interesting look into the life.
1258
01:01:26,220 --> 01:01:29,260
It's kind of like a character study of like
1259
01:01:29,260 --> 01:01:32,300
a young person who's just trying to find his way in the world.
1260
01:01:32,300 --> 01:01:34,860
Sure. It is a bit dated.
1261
01:01:35,000 --> 01:01:39,580
It's also if you're American, you should probably watch it with subtitles
1262
01:01:39,580 --> 01:01:45,220
because it takes place in Scotland and they have very Scottish accents.
1263
01:01:45,220 --> 01:01:49,280
They don't try to shy away from it, especially the parts with Robert Carlyle.
1264
01:01:49,280 --> 01:01:53,120
Like his guy is just fucking going off like, hey, fuck it.
1265
01:01:54,920 --> 01:01:58,400
I don't like I have no idea what he said, but I kind of get what he's saying
1266
01:01:58,400 --> 01:02:02,560
just based on the the context of his tone of voice.
1267
01:02:03,840 --> 01:02:07,000
Yeah. So, yeah,
1268
01:02:07,000 --> 01:02:11,500
it I really like visually, I think it does a lot of cool things
1269
01:02:11,500 --> 01:02:14,540
like him sinking into the sea, like the kind of weird camera tricks
1270
01:02:14,540 --> 01:02:17,380
and the weird like fantastical shit it does.
1271
01:02:18,280 --> 01:02:21,180
I think I think it's a really interesting film.
1272
01:02:22,120 --> 01:02:24,680
And I think it does a lot of
1273
01:02:24,680 --> 01:02:28,520
like it's trying to do a lot of cool stuff.
1274
01:02:29,300 --> 01:02:32,620
That being said, it is I think it's also a little bit of a slow movie.
1275
01:02:32,620 --> 01:02:35,160
It's a little bit boring in certain parts.
1276
01:02:36,060 --> 01:02:39,100
It just kind of drags a bit where it's like, I get it.
1277
01:02:39,100 --> 01:02:41,780
He's high on heroin and he's sad about it.
1278
01:02:42,480 --> 01:02:43,980
There are a bit of that.
1279
01:02:43,980 --> 01:02:47,920
That's kind of how I felt about most of the but I did overall enjoy it.
1280
01:02:47,920 --> 01:02:54,780
So I yeah, I think I'm like 750 out of a thousand grams of heroin.
1281
01:02:54,780 --> 01:02:57,220
So I'm getting a little higher than Micah.
1282
01:02:57,380 --> 01:02:59,460
Yeah. Good for you, Thor.
1283
01:02:59,460 --> 01:03:01,800
Either way, I'm pretty sure we're both going to overdose.
1284
01:03:01,820 --> 01:03:04,820
Yeah. Yeah, we're both going to have a Tommy situation happening here.
1285
01:03:07,160 --> 01:03:09,160
All right. Well, there you have it, folks.
1286
01:03:09,160 --> 01:03:10,740
You know what? Just to end this episode,
1287
01:03:10,740 --> 01:03:13,040
you are you have you translated a website?
1288
01:03:13,040 --> 01:03:16,640
I have translated some things into ebonics. OK, let's do it.
1289
01:03:16,640 --> 01:03:21,240
So I specifically translated the summary of train spotting. OK.
1290
01:03:21,580 --> 01:03:26,740
So I'm going to read I'm going to read train spotting as it is written on IMDB.
1291
01:03:27,720 --> 01:03:28,480
Sorry for the storyline.
1292
01:03:28,480 --> 01:03:32,060
It says a wild free form is a rebel Asian trip.
1293
01:03:32,080 --> 01:03:33,920
Is that the pronunciation there?
1294
01:03:33,920 --> 01:03:37,160
Rebel Asian trip to the darkest recesses of Edinburgh low life,
1295
01:03:37,400 --> 01:03:41,040
focusing on Mark Renton and his attempts to give up on his heroin habit.
1296
01:03:41,360 --> 01:03:44,600
But how the latter affects his relationship with family and friends.
1297
01:03:44,600 --> 01:03:50,040
Sean Connery, want to be sick boy, dim bulb, spud, psycho,
1298
01:03:50,040 --> 01:03:54,520

1299
01:03:55,340 --> 01:03:59,280
who's never touched drugs, but he can't help being curious about them.
1300
01:03:59,920 --> 01:04:04,420
That's all right. Pretty concise app description.
1301
01:04:06,960 --> 01:04:09,860
So if you go to Google,
1302
01:04:09,860 --> 01:04:14,260
you can copy the URL and it will translate it into a bonics.
1303
01:04:15,220 --> 01:04:17,120
All right. Here we go.
1304
01:04:17,120 --> 01:04:22,060
A wild free form revelation trip all up in the darkest.
1305
01:04:22,060 --> 01:04:26,940
The as NTHA darkest recesses of Edinburgh low life,
1306
01:04:27,180 --> 01:04:32,340
focusing on Mark Renton and his thugged out attempt to give up his heroin habit
1307
01:04:32,780 --> 01:04:37,320
and how that and how the fuck the latter aspects his began
1308
01:04:37,320 --> 01:04:40,920
to reason chisel with cruising players.
1309
01:04:41,320 --> 01:04:46,140
Shizzle Connery, want to be sick boy, dim bulb, spud, psycho, beg be
1310
01:04:46,140 --> 01:04:50,740
14 year old ho Diane and clean cut athlete Tommy,
1311
01:04:51,140 --> 01:04:56,200
who's never touched icky stickies, but can't help being curious about them wild ass motherfuckers.
1312
01:04:59,980 --> 01:05:05,380
I think I want to filter all of my Internet searches from now on through this.
1313
01:05:05,380 --> 01:05:07,680
It's it's kind of hilarious.
1314
01:05:08,080 --> 01:05:10,820
It's kind of hilarious.
1315
01:05:11,740 --> 01:05:13,420
Yeah. So Gazoo.
1316
01:05:13,420 --> 01:05:15,780
Net is is the website.
1317
01:05:17,360 --> 01:05:21,360
If you want to go there and do your own searches, I tried to
1318
01:05:22,120 --> 01:05:25,100
copy the URL and bring it in there.
1319
01:05:25,100 --> 01:05:29,260
Google.net, if you're listening and I know that you are, send us some cash
1320
01:05:29,260 --> 01:05:33,200
and we'll we will promote you on the show every episode, every episode.
1321
01:05:33,200 --> 01:05:36,300
Yeah. So instead of clicking the Google button.
1322
01:05:36,640 --> 01:05:38,480
So it's Gazoo, you click it.
1323
01:05:38,480 --> 01:05:40,840
It's Gazoo. This is knit.
1324
01:05:42,340 --> 01:05:44,420
Fuck it. Jesus Christ.
1325
01:05:44,420 --> 01:05:45,420
All right.
1326
01:05:46,180 --> 01:05:50,180
It's hashtag Gazoo for all y'all bitches who want to find out.
1327
01:05:50,180 --> 01:05:52,380
She's knit. It's so stupid.
1328
01:05:52,560 --> 01:05:54,020
And then at the bottom of it, it goes.
1329
01:05:54,020 --> 01:05:56,520
This is a parody website not affiliated with Google in any way.
1330
01:05:59,460 --> 01:06:01,360
They got real white for that.
1331
01:06:01,360 --> 01:06:04,400
They. Yeah.
1332
01:06:04,640 --> 01:06:07,880
But so when I clicked Google, this schiznit,
1333
01:06:09,180 --> 01:06:12,080
it came up with a thing that basically said that they were too.
1334
01:06:14,120 --> 01:06:16,720
There were too many people on there.
1335
01:06:16,720 --> 01:06:19,080
So it comes up with an error message, but here's the error message.
1336
01:06:19,080 --> 01:06:24,280
It has a picture of Snoop Dogg and it says, oh shit, dog, we're too popular.
1337
01:06:24,360 --> 01:06:27,460
It happens. We're currently overloaded with the all hustlers.
1338
01:06:27,460 --> 01:06:31,320
No, I mean, in the meantime, y'all can still use textilizer,
1339
01:06:31,320 --> 01:06:35,860
which is what I used, or get VIP access on the official iPhone app.
1340
01:06:37,660 --> 01:06:41,540
So if you use textilizer, what it does is it opens up a window
1341
01:06:41,540 --> 01:06:45,580
for you to just copy and paste text in there and it it translates
1342
01:06:45,580 --> 01:06:48,540
the text that you do. Yes. OK. So.
1343
01:06:49,580 --> 01:06:50,380
For what it's worth.
1344
01:06:50,380 --> 01:06:53,040
Anyway, that's what we have to say about train spotting.
1345
01:06:53,040 --> 01:06:57,660
It's a six to seven and a half out of 10.
1346
01:06:58,980 --> 01:07:03,200
No, six six hundred to seven hundred and fifty grams of heroin.
1347
01:07:03,220 --> 01:07:06,600
Yeah, that out of a scale of a kilogram.
1348
01:07:06,600 --> 01:07:08,860
Sure. Yep. That right there.
1349
01:07:08,860 --> 01:07:09,640
What do you guys think?
1350
01:07:09,640 --> 01:07:12,960
I especially want to hear from you if you are in Scotland.
1351
01:07:15,040 --> 01:07:17,200
That's that's what I want to know about.
1352
01:07:17,200 --> 01:07:20,600
I want to hear about the Scotland boys and girls, you know, give us
1353
01:07:20,600 --> 01:07:23,400
give us a ring on the telly. Do they use telly?
1354
01:07:23,400 --> 01:07:25,940
Is that a thing? Yeah, we're across the pond over here.
1355
01:07:25,940 --> 01:07:29,940
Why don't you let us know what it's like doing heroin in Scotland?
1356
01:07:30,580 --> 01:07:32,040
How cool is it? I guess.
1357
01:07:32,040 --> 01:07:36,480
I mean, did this movie do justice to just how cool it is to do heroin?
1358
01:07:36,480 --> 01:07:38,960
Damn it, Thor. I was trying to get it.
1359
01:07:39,960 --> 01:07:41,420
Anyway, you can find us.
1360
01:07:41,420 --> 01:07:43,000
Oh, yeah. Give us a recommendation, too.
1361
01:07:43,000 --> 01:07:44,920
That's what we do. Yeah, that's what I would prefer.
1362
01:07:44,920 --> 01:07:50,860
But you can find us on Instagram.
1363
01:07:50,860 --> 01:07:53,220

01:08:00,000 --> 01:08:01,660
Thor, take it away.
1367
01:08:01,660 --> 01:08:04,240
That's G.I.T. R.E. CD P.O.D.
1368
01:08:04,240 --> 01:08:06,700
at Gmail dot com.

01:08:06,700 --> 01:08:10,240
And yes, send us send us your recommendations.
1370
01:08:12,280 --> 01:08:14,780
Reach out to me and I'll send you our address.
1371
01:08:14,780 --> 01:08:17,420
You can send us some some of that sweet Scottish dope,
1372
01:08:17,420 --> 01:08:20,220
that sweet Scottish thunder I've been hearing about thunder.
1373
01:08:23,620 --> 01:08:25,920
Yeah, I'm definitely not a cop.
1374
01:08:25,920 --> 01:08:26,920
I'm definitely not a cop.
1375
01:08:26,920 --> 01:08:31,600
And I if I tell you I'm not a cop, then that means I can't arrest you.
1376
01:08:31,640 --> 01:08:34,840
So definitely send us some of that sweet Scottish thunder.
1377
01:08:34,840 --> 01:08:37,140
Michael, what's next week's recommendation?
1378
01:08:37,140 --> 01:08:38,840
Yeah, next week's recommendation.
1379
01:08:38,840 --> 01:08:42,340
Boy, that was a good segue.
1380
01:08:42,340 --> 01:08:45,380
So I think that I'm going to give you a movie.
1381
01:08:45,720 --> 01:08:48,820
OK, I don't know if you've seen it, though.
1382
01:08:48,820 --> 01:08:51,020
So it's a Coen brother film. OK.
1383
01:08:51,020 --> 01:08:52,780
Have you seen the Lady Killers?
1384
01:08:52,780 --> 01:08:54,880
No, I don't think so.
1385
01:08:54,880 --> 01:08:56,380
OK, Hank's Tom Hanks.
1386
01:08:56,380 --> 01:08:58,720
I know we've talked about it before.
1387
01:08:58,720 --> 01:08:59,520
I have not seen it.
1388
01:08:59,520 --> 01:09:01,060
It's been in the back of my mind for a bit.
1389
01:09:01,060 --> 01:09:03,860
And I'm looking at the DVD right now.
1390
01:09:04,160 --> 01:09:07,260
And it's one that I have been wanting to send to you.
1391
01:09:07,560 --> 01:09:09,640
So we're going to get into the Lady Killers.
1392
01:09:09,640 --> 01:09:11,540
It is a little bit of a heist movie.
1393
01:09:11,540 --> 01:09:12,800
In fact, that's exactly what it is.
1394
01:09:12,800 --> 01:09:14,840
It's a heist movie. Nice.
1395
01:09:14,840 --> 01:09:18,520
And it's about all of these these this team of heisters
1396
01:09:18,880 --> 01:09:23,120
that are using this sweet little old black ladies basement
1397
01:09:23,440 --> 01:09:27,780
as their home base to plan and prep for this big heist. Cool.
1398
01:09:28,060 --> 01:09:30,760
So it's a dark comedy.
1399
01:09:30,760 --> 01:09:32,420
I really feel like you're going to enjoy it.
1400
01:09:32,420 --> 01:09:33,420
It's a Coen brother film.
1401
01:09:33,420 --> 01:09:34,460
I love the Coen brothers.
1402
01:09:34,460 --> 01:09:36,320
Coen brothers. I love Tom Hanks.
1403
01:09:36,320 --> 01:09:38,960
Yeah. So I really do think that you're going to enjoy it.
1404
01:09:38,960 --> 01:09:42,600
That's my medication alarm.
1405
01:09:43,500 --> 01:09:45,680
So so about that.
1406
01:09:45,680 --> 01:09:48,480
Yeah. So so next week, we're going to get into the Lady Killers
1407
01:09:48,480 --> 01:09:50,740
starring Tom Hanks.
1408
01:09:51,940 --> 01:09:55,680
Until next time, folks, as always, you get wrecked out there
1409
01:09:55,780 --> 01:09:59,080
and stay wrecked, but don't stay on heroin.
1410
01:09:59,080 --> 01:10:01,620
The thoughts of comments, the thoughts and comments of Thor
1411
01:10:01,620 --> 01:10:04,460
Jolly do not necessarily reflect, nor do we condone
1412
01:10:04,660 --> 01:10:07,460
the get wrecked podcast episode or podcast.
1413
01:10:07,460 --> 01:10:09,100
I don't think that sentence made sense.
1414
01:10:09,100 --> 01:10:12,600
It's because you made me deal with a whole bunch of crap
1415
01:10:12,600 --> 01:10:13,840
at the end of this episode, Thor.
1416
01:10:13,840 --> 01:10:15,940
I was fine until like 10 minutes ago.
1417
01:10:15,940 --> 01:10:18,140
Then you murdered my brain with heroin talk.
1418
01:10:20,240 --> 01:10:21,640
Don't do drugs. Don't do drugs.
1419
01:10:21,640 --> 01:10:23,840
Yeah, just don't do it. Please don't.
1420
01:10:23,840 --> 01:10:24,840
We don't condone it.
1421
01:10:24,840 --> 01:10:26,820
And we're not liable for indefinite.
1422
01:10:26,820 --> 01:10:28,580
Don't sue us either.
1423
01:10:28,980 --> 01:10:30,580
But you should do heroin, it seems.
1424
01:10:30,580 --> 01:10:37,580
No.
