درباره این اپیزود
In this episode of Generations, Cameron sits down with Jon Rawlings, a pastor, teacher, scholar, artist, and lifelong servant whose journey spans churches, classrooms, ball fields, inner cities, and the islands of Hawaii.
Jon shares what it was like growing up in a multigenerational ministry family, coming to faith at a young age, and learning early the value of service through teaching Sunday School and working with inner-city youth. From studying at Bible college, Wheaton, and Harvard Divinity School, to preaching in locker rooms for Major League Baseball teams, Jon reflects on how faith and calling evolve over a lifetime.
The conversation follows Jon and his wife Jeri through seasons of ministry, unexpected transitions, job loss, leadership in higher education, helping modernize the Hawaiian Bible, pastoring churches, and eventually discovering a surprising second calling as a potter, photographer, and writer.
This episode is about faithfulness through change, loving people well, and finding purpose in every season of life—no matter how unexpected the path.
Generations with Cameron Riese is a podcast about wisdom passed down, stories worth sharing, and faith lived out across generations. New episodes feature honest conversations between kids and elders about life, purpose, and following God’s lead.
