00:00:02
Speaker 1: You're never alone.
00:00:07
Speaker 2: God first time call a line time listeners.
00:00:10
Speaker 3: Knockdown Bill two with Metro Homes, sell one and move on to keep the other as an investment.
00:00:16
Speaker 4: Metro Homes. They do it all for you.
00:00:19
Speaker 1: Live from Heimar Square.
00:00:21
Speaker 5: It's five double A Breakfast. David Penberthy and Will Goodings right on ten after six.
00:00:27
Speaker 1: Good morning to you.
00:00:28
Speaker 6: Welcome to Friday on five Double A Breakfast. It is the tenth of April. Gee whiz, did anyone fly to Adelaide? That's listening yesterday? I'd love to hear from you. A few people didn't get so lucky. Some Carlton fans nearly missed the start of the game yesterday. Were chatting with Germin O'Neil from the airport about gather around airport travel, how busy it's been and indeed how problematic it was with the storms crashing in yesterday.
00:00:49
Speaker 1: We'll talk a bit.
00:00:50
Speaker 6: About weather today. Also coming up on the program this morning, we'll be off to Canberra. We'll took federal politics all that's transpired over the course of the last week. Dylan Buckley, former Carlton footballer, former GWS footballer, now does a lot of meatiawek podcasting and so forth in the AFL. One of many many big name media people from the AFL that are in town for gather and he's going to join us live in the studio before eight o'clock. And today we've got nearest to the pen to play. We've got feedback Friday, we've got to meet Tray David Penberthy. It's going to be a lot of fun.
00:01:21
Speaker 1: Good morning to you, Good morning, well, good morning listeners. Big night last night the footy?
00:01:26
Speaker 6: Did you go?
00:01:27
Speaker 1: Did you get wet? Are you dry yet?
00:01:30
Speaker 6: I didn't go.
00:01:31
Speaker 1: We watched it from the comfort of the couch and got to say, about five minutes into the second third quarter, I was feeling pretty vindicated in that decision.
00:01:41
Speaker 6: I apologized to everyone I bumped into randomly yesterday who said, oh, the footy could be a bit dicey tonight. I went, the rain will be done by then. Yeah, you'll be fine. That's what we were led to believe. That's what we were led to believe.
00:01:53
Speaker 1: And that was right.
00:01:54
Speaker 6: Genuinely, I'd loved him for someone who was there what it was like, because on TV it looked like one of those and monsoon games. Yeah, yeah, for about five minutes in the second half. I've never seen it rain like that a footy game in Adelaide.
00:02:07
Speaker 1: Well, my older kids were there and they texted saying, this is full on, like you can we'd see it on TV. Everyone was just clearing out and standing underneath like it was unbearable because you know, I think a lot of people go to the foot well, I don't own an umbrella. I just think rain doesn't last long and Adelaide we should be right, So I probably would have been there thinking hmm, what's my strategy now the rain doesn't appear.
00:02:31
Speaker 6: To have stopped. It was a bit of a shame actually, because the first half of football was just electric.
00:02:36
Speaker 1: It was crazy and it was reminded me of football in the nineties when you used to watch yes you know, not very much North Melbourne play Essendon twenty two goals plays eighteen. I was hoping we might get one of those ridiculous score lines at the end because it was the ball was It was a great adversement for the sport and unfortunately the whare they just killed it a bit in the second half, but it became a bit of a grind, which actually made I was reflecting on that in the second half. I thought, Australian rules football is an expression of a straighting optimism. We have a game that is susceptible to the weather. Played primarily in winter. Our winter sport can be rendered like the unwatching. Sometimes rain can make it a compelling thing. Last night was not one of those examples. I thought, it's kind of funny that we have it in winter. It subjected to those kind of conditions and it could be totally changed as a spectacle. Well, it was one of those things I reckon there was. There were periods of play in the third quarter when it was really coming down where for literally three minutes, no one could hold the ball. Yes, like no one. Some of the best players in AFL out there the balls just sliding through their hands. It was a sheer impossibility. It was not watching almost anything goes. Remember that game show. Yes, it's just sort of like an early version of It's a Knockout.
00:03:46
Speaker 6: It's like it's a knockout. I remember, It's a Knockout was more my time. First you have today to pick up.
00:03:51
Speaker 1: The slippery ball, then you have to climb bottom mountain.
00:03:55
Speaker 6: That it exists. Those games I suppose they evolved into modern reality TV, didn't they.
00:03:59
Speaker 1: Kind of England hence my son of Northern Entertainer accent that I was doing that.
00:04:03
Speaker 6: Kind of you little beast does these days. I think, all right, let's let's talk with this meat tray. Pick and old and grumpy Wiel which is good. Oh no, he's genuinely happening. Yeah, it's good, isn't It is a lean into it.
00:04:15
Speaker 7: Yeah.
00:04:15
Speaker 6: No, I'm trying to resist when you get up. I've had him my time on that front. I've had a bad back leet, but remember I prematurely have about a bad back, So no, I get that one. Meet Troy thanks to Olga's Fine Foods, great of Ougar's on board this morning, terrific contributors to meet Troy Friday, to great business, great little South Australian business. That one olgust Fine Foods. Now we're asking for the meat tray. Inspired by the great Bruce mcavaaney, who had a nice off air moment with our producer Paddy Goldsmith, who was on debout this weekend calling his first game as part of the gather around festivity. He's calling the Hawthorne game tomorrow. Here's a bit of you spoke with him and then came in and said this on air.
00:05:00
Speaker 1: Pat said to him my brief on indulgence. Do you mind? Can I just ask you, as the greatest football commentator full time, what's your tip? And he said, just back yourself.
00:05:11
Speaker 6: Back yourself A bit of advice for Patty on Taboo this weekend we're asking you for the Metro. What's the best piece of advice you've ever been getting given? Best piece of advice? Something memorable. Maybe it's a saying turn, a phrase, just someone who teach your parent eight double two three double a double O or textas on zero four eight zero eight thirteen ninety five.
00:05:32
Speaker 1: My dad always said, never believe your own bullshit job writing every Friday and Sunday.
00:05:37
Speaker 6: Yeah. Actually you generally believe it, though, don't you. You don't fake too many columns. No, I don't think you fake any commns. You over written a columner.
00:05:46
Speaker 1: I thought I'd better write this one or or this case you're uping about Terry never written a column because.
00:05:51
Speaker 6: Rupert Murdoch told me the right one. Or I think some people suspect columns off and get written for this will get a rise out of them.
00:05:58
Speaker 1: Yeah, there is a certain type of column that, yeah, that you can tell. There's some that are just clickbait type, you know.
00:06:07
Speaker 6: Well, it's just.
00:06:08
Speaker 1: Attack a set like what the ten things I hate about cyclist? Okay, here we go, Good on you, Yeah, good on you. We'll stick that up on the internet and see how it goes.
00:06:18
Speaker 6: In my very early days of doing radio, speaking at fathers and advice from a dad saying to me, and it was such a good discipline to get into when I was broadcasting Flinder's University radio at three to four am each morning and then five double a midnight till six on a regular or semi regular basis. And he always said, you never know who's listening. You've got to broadcast like you never know who's listening any moment. It was a good discipline to get into the idea that you can't especially at that time when there's a temptation. It's like five to four. This is not the most scintillating five minutes of radio. It's not going to matter, but it's good. It was a great discipline to get into. That's really good advice.
00:06:56
Speaker 1: That's and as excellent one of you two both being in the same industries. I mentioned some advice our boss, our current boss, Craig Man, gave us in a piece I wrote for The Australian in the context of the one nation vote, and it was remember the letter we got from the little old lady in Gawler, so one of our listeners. I tell her what. I hope she's still with her. She was an elderly woman and I based that on her cursive handwriting and the fact that there was a handwritten letter in Cursy. You could just tell from looking at it. This was someone who had been educated in the nineteen forties or fifties. And she read a letter to her saying, dear sir, I am a lifelong five double a listener, but I wish to complain about the two boys doing the breakfast show. I am sick and tired of hearing them referred to eating in restaurants. And she put the word restaurants in inverted commas, and she said, my husband and I never eat in restaurants. We can't afford to eat in restaurants, and even if we could afford to, would not because we are perfectly capable of preparing mules ourselves. That's right. And our boss read it to us, not as a joke. He said, this is important. A. It goes to this woman's financial means and B goes to frugality. And you know, I mean, it's not like coming here every days. I was at the Botanic last night having the degstation. It's not what we do, but we probably do well.
00:08:24
Speaker 6: I certainly do. It's guilty as job. You've demonstrated capability to cook as well, so far beyond me, so I think we've shared the responsibility on that one.
00:08:33
Speaker 1: It was a good, good bit of advice from that woman, though.
00:08:35
Speaker 6: It was let's go to Elizabeth Park. Let's get some more advice this morning.
00:08:38
Speaker 1: Peter.
00:08:38
Speaker 6: What's the best piece of advice you ever heard.
00:08:41
Speaker 8: From my dad when he was teaching me to drive? Rule number one, treat every other bastard on the road as a complete another idiot. I came back with, what happens if you're driving and I'm driving? Rule number one, treat every other bastard on the roads complete another idiot.
00:08:58
Speaker 6: That's good advice, Peter. That'll serve you will I think that certainly cooly has you still here? Tony and Satan, good morning.
00:09:04
Speaker 9: Good morn and gentlemen.
00:09:06
Speaker 10: When I was in my early twenties, I decided to get married, and just before I got married, my father stepped in and says, listen, you've got a bit of money, got a house, got everything, get a prenuptial agreement.
00:09:18
Speaker 11: Time.
00:09:20
Speaker 10: So I decided, I've told my girlfriend or whoever at the time was, I said listening it to sign this before we get married. And I just thought it was a loan agreement. Okay, I'm day any months I've heard I've been married and turned up with the boss speaking with him. Wow, that pretty nuptial agreement came to at the.
00:09:43
Speaker 1: End, good advice and Dad.
00:09:46
Speaker 10: And then named court, but the court lawyer before the judgment, before the texture to the coach. We sat it out a court and the Dudley was agreed that there was a vella pretnuptial. So and certain.
00:10:05
Speaker 1: Well there you go, there you go, getting it all off their chest at six twenty am. All right, let's go to brew.
00:10:12
Speaker 6: What's the best piece of advice you ever got?
00:10:16
Speaker 12: Right?
00:10:17
Speaker 13: Okay, my my grandmaster is always well, I can't remember exactly what you said, but always trust you. I always go with your gut. And I never really got it, and then as you get older and you get that feeling, it's like, oh, that's my gut, but you know it's just one of those things like that that in a intuition, if you're right trusted.
00:10:40
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good Andrew.
00:10:43
Speaker 6: Thank you, Andrew. Lots of texts coming through as well.
00:10:45
Speaker 1: One here Raymond and Salisbury playing says, the best bit of advice I ever got from mine ed was by property, the sooner you do it the better. Best piece of advice I ever got. Thank you for that, Like this one no name given. My dad used to say magpies hang out with magpies, but galars hang out with galas. That's a good. Jason the sweeper driver says, my dad always said, if you want something done, don't depend on anyone else and only have depend on yourself. Sharon in Powerful Gardens says we're here on Earth in years, in the blink of an eye, dinosaurs roam in the earth sixty five million years ago. Life is short, you're a longtime dead. And the advice she gives in quote form was let the beauty of what you live be what you do.
00:11:40
Speaker 6: Good on your Sharon, keep them coming in best space advice you ever received. You can win yourself. Are the olders meet tray this morning by calling eight double two three double o double.
00:11:50
Speaker 3: Knockdown bill two with Metro Homes, Sell one and move on, keep the other as an investment.
00:11:56
Speaker 4: Metro Homes they do it all for you.
00:11:58
Speaker 5: Do good fen Berthie will Goodings five double a.
00:12:02
Speaker 6: Breakfast twenty five after six. The advice is flowing in on the text line and indeed the open line eight double two to three double O double Olga's Fine Foods the meat tray that is up for grabs this morning. Inspired by Bruce mcavainey giving Patty some advice ahead of his first commentary game for five double a well first AFL Game for five double? Should I say this weekend back yourself in? He said?
00:12:25
Speaker 1: Do your work?
00:12:25
Speaker 6: Back yourself in. Were asking you about the best piece of advice you've ever received. Let's go to South Brighton. What did you get Dave.
00:12:32
Speaker 14: Boys, my old boss from my interview as a young sixteen year old strong boy, he said, as a plumber, he said, You're never too old to learn this in life said materials and change in change.
00:12:50
Speaker 6: Sorry, Dave, you got the world's worst line mate.
00:12:52
Speaker 1: I hate that we're missing out on potentially life altering advice.
00:12:56
Speaker 6: Correctly, we got to hear a little bit of it. You're never too old as a plumber to earn new things. These materials change and technology changes. Yeah, never be too proud to learn. Do you make that out?
00:13:06
Speaker 1: That was?
00:13:07
Speaker 6: Yeah, that was the gist of it. They want to go to a specialist. No, he was getting maybe I imagine some of it like an ai Joe and gaula good.
00:13:16
Speaker 15: Morning, get a boys.
00:13:19
Speaker 16: How are you going, David? You might like this one? Now, this was from my dad, Darryl Hicks, exter Football Central's coach. He always said to us, when in doubt, choose the bolder course. And yeah, that was. That's a ripper that I've followed through his life.
00:13:37
Speaker 11: Doubt.
00:13:37
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's great, that's great.
00:13:41
Speaker 6: How's your old man going? Joke?
00:13:43
Speaker 16: We're going really well. Yeah, he's going. My mother is an absolute saint, looks after him so beautifully. But he's going really well. Actually, he know, he's look he will never be his old self, of course, you know, in terms of oratory and things. But no, he's going well. But also just to David, your article good Friday article was absolutely sensational. I know Dad very much appreciated that, so well done.
00:14:07
Speaker 1: Mate. We may were you there that night we all bumped into each other the surf club and.
00:14:12
Speaker 16: Yeah I was the one that came up and shook your hand. Yeah that's right.
00:14:15
Speaker 6: Yeah, that was lovely.
00:14:16
Speaker 17: Yeah.
00:14:16
Speaker 16: A couple of ye yeah exactly. Yeah, good on you mate.
00:14:20
Speaker 1: No, thank you, mate, and take it over to you your old man from all of us here too. He's absolutely legend to a South Australian football.
00:14:26
Speaker 6: Piece of advice too, but great, cool, Thank you, Jo. Fifteen point two degrees outside in the city at the moment feels like eleven point three. It's cool. I'm not going to get a whole lot warmer either. Nineteen degrees expect the top one to five millimeters of rain. Just look at the forecast. I hesitate to say anything after yesterday, but it looks like we might have got most of it already. We'll chat with the bureau very very shortly. The weekend ahead similar orbit less rain. So Tomorrow eighteen the top maybe a millimeter, Sunday very similar nineteen maybe a millimeter, and then Monday twenty no rain, Tuesday twenty no rain, Wednesday twenty two next week Thursday twenty two. So forecast maxim doesn't get any higher than twenty two right through until the next Thursday, so it is footy weather. I don't know what we had last night was footy weather. It felt more like monsooner weather. It was something to see before that though, Ready, what a hell of a first half that was Augustina Matsubuchi overstocked with demos that must be cleared upgrade your vehicle today, and that I was worth in Morson Lakes.
00:15:22
Speaker 18: It was amazing, wasn't it. Thirteen goals in that first quarter. It was frenetic. It was end to end. I'm not sure Maddy Nicks loved it. He gave his players a bit of a spray a quarter of time. We know he probably likes defense first. But then in the second term they opened it up and I think we thought, here they go six goals to one.
00:15:37
Speaker 19: Josh Rachelley was on fire. He was brilliant last year.
00:15:40
Speaker 1: Shelley's easily been the best player for the Crows this year.
00:15:43
Speaker 6: I speak of a story by Miles I reckon.
00:15:45
Speaker 18: Wayne Miller has got a pretty good case as well.
00:15:48
Speaker 19: But I think Rachelle You're right. The look that he's.
00:15:52
Speaker 18: Giving them and the opportunities that he's presenting. He's giving them a different dynamic, I think, which we haven't seen for a while.
00:16:00
Speaker 19: Starting to watch exactly. And he's a showman.
00:16:03
Speaker 1: He's why kids get excited about footy.
00:16:05
Speaker 19: He's really good.
00:16:06
Speaker 18: And that was great that second term, But then the game totally changed in the second half.
00:16:11
Speaker 6: Was on two different games.
00:16:12
Speaker 1: The first half was excellent, the second half was some of the worst football.
00:16:15
Speaker 18: Ye I was with you. I don't clearly, I didn't think we were supposed to. Just what was going on the bureau Gods did they get that one wrong?
00:16:23
Speaker 6: I could believe it. It was made worse reading and I look, coaches have paid to win for football games. I get that, and that first and foremost, you always should. There's a great term of euphemism that the US or the UK press uses for dour soccer managers. Pragmatic. Yes, it was pragmatic that second half. I'm playing one behind the ball, so like Matthew Nicks knew, and those conditions, they weren't going to kick four or five goals unanswered if we played one loose, which meant guarantee it increased the chances to win, but got it made it awful to.
00:16:55
Speaker 1: Watch, but also didn't we didn't we actually sort of yes, we almost proved by stuffing it up that the best form of defense.
00:17:05
Speaker 6: Is attacked well.
00:17:06
Speaker 18: And this is the criticism of the Crows is that sometimes they go a bit too conservative. Now, they won the game, so you know they got through that. It was a professional win. You'd say that second half.
00:17:16
Speaker 1: Was it a professional win? That showed were kiding ourselves everythink we're top four standard.
00:17:20
Speaker 18: There's a fair way to go. They've been close to those games they've lost, like the Bulldogs the others. But yeah, there's work to be done. There's no doubt about that.
00:17:29
Speaker 19: So yeah, look good way to start gather around.
00:17:31
Speaker 12: Though.
00:17:31
Speaker 18: They snapped the three game losing streak. Hopefully the weather's clearing. We've got a few showers today. Colinwood free. They'll get fifty thousand because it's Collinwood tonight. That's a good game and a lot of excitement. Port squad. They'll trimate back later today, just quickly. In the golf, Jason Day only two shots off the lead after the first rounds on good start, but Rory.
00:17:50
Speaker 20: McElroy go away.
00:17:52
Speaker 18: For those that haven't backed him or gotten near him, go away. Defending champion, looks good.
00:17:58
Speaker 3: Voice, knockdown Bill two with Metro Homes, Sell one and move on, keep the other as an investment. Metro Homes They do it all for you.
00:18:09
Speaker 5: Deep It, Ben Burby and Will goodiess five double a Breakfast.
00:18:17
Speaker 1: Twenty one minutes to seven.
00:18:18
Speaker 6: A little bit late out this afternoon with Stacy Lee Chris Jarmer. Will we joining after three pm for Foody Friday, as featured last night. Rohaming Brian during the footy coverage because Chris of course does the cooking for the Adelaide Claro Crow, so Brian Taylor went over and got a preview of all the postmatch snacks were that Chris had cooked up. Building a renovating. Your first choice should be visiting the Smeek show room at Denly Distributors. Takes the difference with Smeg and POWs.
00:18:45
Speaker 1: I love this text from our good mate Caz In Brompton and I love Cas mape me doing Warlcas as she says. The best bit of advice my mum gave me is this. The best definition of laziness is to get everything you do right the first time it's true, then it doesn't need to be correct that that's good to be like the old anyone who's been involved with road Tree, the service club organization over the years, their motto.
00:19:07
Speaker 6: Is do it once, do it well. Good text Gaz. We'll put that in the running to win the meat tray thanks to Oga's fine food. So too, will Daryl in Virginia be in the running. Morning Daryl, you're there, Darryl, No, Daryl, Let's go to Dylan then.
00:19:23
Speaker 1: Morning Dylan, Good morning, How are you good? Thanks Dylan. Good.
00:19:28
Speaker 11: My grandfather once told me many years ago, he said, you need two good things in life.
00:19:32
Speaker 16: He said, a good pair of shoes and a good mattress. He said, because you're either in one or the other.
00:19:40
Speaker 1: That's excellent.
00:19:41
Speaker 6: Thank you Dylan.
00:19:43
Speaker 1: That's a good bit of advice.
00:19:44
Speaker 6: All right, let's talk about together around in the airport because it is the first port of call for so many people flying into South Australia. Durbin O'Neil is the executive general Manager at the airport Durmott.
00:19:55
Speaker 1: Good morning.
00:19:55
Speaker 6: I imagine yesterday was an exciting, if not stressful day at the airport with the weather in the end, Did everyone who was anticipating and flop to fly in and get to see the footy get there on time?
00:20:07
Speaker 21: Yeah, look, we think so that the weather did cause a little bit of disruption yesterday in what we were expecting to be one of our busiest days over the gather round weekend. Obviously we gather around colliding with the start of school holidays, it is a pretty busy couple of days for us at the airport. But we did see some disruptions due to the storm activity that rolled through Adelaide late morning early afternoon yesterday. We did have a couple of flights turn around and come back again. So one of those we know that came back from Melbourne got in at about six thirty pm last night. So if there are any footy fans, any cart and fans on that one, they hopefully were able to make it the last night's game just in time.
00:20:47
Speaker 1: Did the weather catch you by surprise a bit durmitt late in the day because we were saying here that the expectation was that it was all going to clear up in time for the footy, but there would have still been flights coming in last night at about eight thirty when it was really bucketing.
00:21:01
Speaker 21: Yeah, Look, it's normally what disrupted us a little bit in the earlier part of the day as opposed to the evening was really the storm activity that also had a lot of lightning with it as well. So when we see that lightning activity and there was quite quite a lot of that during that late morning stage yesterday, that obviously disrupts our abilities for everyone that works at the airport, particularly to get out onto the tarmac and service those aircraft. So we did see some of that storm activity result in aircraft turning around and coming back. But it is often that lightning and when it's that really storm activity as opposed to the heavy rain that disrupts.
00:21:40
Speaker 6: Gather around the side.
00:21:40
Speaker 1: Though, Durmit, it must be a little bit quieter than normal at the airport at the moment, with a lot of the international flights ground at Emirates not flying out of Adelaide at the moment. That's correct, isn't it.
00:21:50
Speaker 21: Yeah, So the situation in the Middle East is having an impact right now. We're missing both Emirates as you say, and Quitar Airways as well. Both currently have their flight suspended, so we're missing about those six hundred odd seats every night out of Adelaide, and you know, the Middle East is one of the more popular ways for South Australians.
00:22:13
Speaker 15: To get to Europe.
00:22:14
Speaker 21: So we are, however, seeing a fair bit of uptake in people moving that travel onto our other carriers such as Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Cathe Pacific, people finding other ways to get to Europe, and even United Airlines before their season recently finished. We know that there are a lot of people even going via the States to get to Europe recently as well, so but you know there are those other ways to get there as well. We've got China Southern and China easton later in the year, so people are finding even up through China, those alternate routes to get to get to Europe.
00:22:49
Speaker 1: Anything better than flying over the old straight of ha Muss At the moment, good on your deermon O'Neil, the executive general manager of the wonderful Adelaide Airport, that ceasing, does it?
00:22:58
Speaker 13: Not?
00:22:58
Speaker 6: N this point in time, open straits don't send me as open as advertised.
00:23:02
Speaker 1: I think what this conflict's proving is that there's a big difference between tweeting about something and making it actually happen.
00:23:09
Speaker 6: This You're right, this is the first global conflict where the social media reality is meeting the real reality. Yeah, and the two things are vastly different.
00:23:19
Speaker 1: Just because you say something doesn't mean it's true.
00:23:21
Speaker 6: Yeah, all right, let's say to the weather bureau. Ben Jordan had a good stat for us, actually that he texted in a short time ago. He says, on the rain Adelaide is now ten millimeters above average for the year to April ten, so today eighty five millimeters. Remember this time last year we were talking about all sorts of records in terms of our dry it have been, and it had we barely had a drip. He says. If Gatheround existed in nineteen forty eight, it would have been problematic because in nineteen forty eight this weekend had eighty five millimeters. That's every bit of rain we've already had this year over the course of just one weekend. The glenel Jeddy got destroyed and took the council twenty one years to repair it.
00:24:01
Speaker 1: Camps with cook Off the mark to go back through the ages.
00:24:05
Speaker 6: Really, that's right, consistent level of service delivery.
00:24:10
Speaker 1: Conor.
00:24:10
Speaker 6: We love our councils that we do actually conor from the way. The Bureau's on the line. Morning, Good morning, much more rain on the way today.
00:24:18
Speaker 22: Oh look, not not like what we saw yesterday, but yeah, we still will see a few sort of on and off showers through the day today. We'll see those really gusty westerly.
00:24:30
Speaker 23: Winds persisting for most of the day today too, So looking at around sort of twenty five to forty kilometers per hour as the mean wind speeds today, and also some cooler temperatures around as well. Adelaide only headed for a top of nineteen also nineteen expective for Glenelg Elizabeth and no longer only sixteen up at Mount.
00:24:54
Speaker 22: Barker, but that wind chill will.
00:24:56
Speaker 23: Potentially make things feel a little bit cooler today as well.
00:25:00
Speaker 6: How much rain did we get in get in the end yesterday.
00:25:03
Speaker 23: Through the Adelaide metro area.
00:25:05
Speaker 22: We picked up sort of a pretty widespread.
00:25:09
Speaker 23: Ten to twenty millimeters the West Terrace gauge in the city there picking up fourteen and a couple of places even just pushing into the foothills and up onto the hills, they're picking up around thirty millimeters, so certainly some decent rain for the Adelaide area.
00:25:25
Speaker 6: Good stuff for us. Thank you nice Persula Connor from the Bureau of Meteorology. Let's head over to say bowl. So when it comes to a Kimberly Broad is on the line, Kimberly. There's been a business break in in Elizabeth East.
00:25:38
Speaker 24: Yeah, as quarter past four this morning, we were called to a group of shops on Spruant's Road after we were seen with a sorry, some people were seen trying to break in. Two men dressed in all black clothing and wearing a mask was seen running away from the complex carrying boxes and left in our black vehicle that was last scene heading towards the main north road. So we had a search of the area, but unfortunately weren't able to locate that suspect vehicle. So we're just asking if anybody saw any suspicious activity around Spirits Road, Elizabeth East about four o'clock lufs or this morning, I should say, if they could give us a call on the crime stop is number one, eight hundred, triple three.
00:26:22
Speaker 1: Triple zero, Kimberly. Also, a drink driver has been involved in a pursuit in Pauly Gusta.
00:26:28
Speaker 24: Yeah, This was last night, about eight twenty. We saw him, it's abitious stand traveling at speed along Chinnery Street. Attempted to stop the car, however the driver refused. It was pursued briefly but then terminated. We did go to the registered owner's address where we located the vehicle part in the driveway, and that driver was identified and a thirty eight year old local man was arrested. He was breast tested and allegedly provided a blood alcohol reading of zero point one nine six, so that's almost four times the legal limit. That man's been charged with excessive seed, dangerous driving and drink driving and he'll be appearing in court Adelada day.
00:27:10
Speaker 6: It's bad not for drink driving. So there's one a High Marsh Valley as well.
00:27:14
Speaker 24: Yeah, that's right. Just before midnight police received a call from the public about a gray station Wagon which was driving erradically on Victor Harbor Road. Police located the SUPERU and stopped it on Welch Road at High Marsh Valley, and that driver was also breast tested and she produced a blood alcohol reading of zero point one ninety five, again almost four times that legal limit. So a thirty two year old woman from Christie's speech was reported for drink driving. She's got a twelve month instant loss of license and she's also lost her car for a month. So she'll be appearing in called adelaide a date to face those charges.
00:27:49
Speaker 1: It's a life changing thing, isn't it. Imagine just suddenly hearing got your car, total loss of independence, and I really don't think it through. Not to mention the more pressing issue of that they might kill somebody, You've seen your comfortable Kimberly broad from say Pa, I'll have a good week innd.
00:28:03
Speaker 3: Kimberly knockdown Bill too with metro homes, Sell one and move on, keep the other as an investment.
00:28:10
Speaker 4: Metro Homes. They do it all for you.
00:28:12
Speaker 5: Deep and pen Berthy and Will Goodings five double a breakfast.
00:28:22
Speaker 1: Eight minutes to seven.
00:28:23
Speaker 6: We're going to meet training to give away this morning thanks to the wonderful Olga's Fine Food risking you but the best piece of advice you ever received. Inspired by Patrick Goldsmith, our wonderful producer, who are on the phone to Bruce mcaveny, the greatest sports commentator the history of this fine country. He asked him yesterday, Hey, I'm about to go on debut tomorrow. What would you say? And he said, back yourself in, we're asking you best piece of advice you've ever received, and it's been lovely bits of advice from teachers, mums and lots of mums and dads. Obviously that makes sense. You get so much from your parents and from lots of people who've texted us with things they heard from their first employer.
00:29:02
Speaker 1: Yeah, to succeed in that, Yeah, that kind of thing. Quite a few people texted in about financial advice they got, including Chris in North Adelaide. He says, as a young teacher in the seventies, I thought superannuation was something only old people paid into. However, my wise senior master advised me to jump on board. But then very generous super scheme before it ceased, and I'm now retired but living a very comfortable life.
00:29:24
Speaker 6: Good on your Chris. On you Chris.
00:29:25
Speaker 1: Now, those of you who've been to Kangaro Island, Kangaro Island is an absolute natural marvel. There's certain species of animals that everywhere you look you seem to be able to find them. You go to Seal Bay and Seal Bay does exactly what it promises us to do. There are seals everywhere. If you're sitting in the backyard of if you know you might have hired a near BnB an American River or something like that. There's those little tamar wallabies everywhere. Well, you've won lot odoy if you can lay you rise on the endangered glossy black cockatoo. These beautiful cockatoos, which I think they're they're They're chief residence is around the American River area, although this sum in Penshore too. They love eating the she oaks. They've got the beautiful red feathers on their on their black tail. But they are very very rare. Worse than that, they're under siege from these darn correllas that have headed over from the mainland. They're not native to the island and they're causing all sorts of dramas. Now, whenever we talk about birds, we love getting our next guest on, doctor GRONEA. Cleary, who is the author of White Birds Sing, a wonderful book, and we always love getting her on for what is often a spirited chat about the the state of our bird life. And doctor Cleary, good morning and thank you for joining us again.
00:30:52
Speaker 6: Yeah, are you a carrella fan.
00:30:53
Speaker 1: I like correllas, but on mass they can they can be a bit they can be a bit bit troublesome, can't they.
00:30:59
Speaker 7: Well, you've got to remember and look at who is the problem in this, and it is us. It is the Homo sapiens. Krella's evolved like cockatoos in Australia as we evolved in Africa. They are in their native habitat and people are finding on Kangaroo Island about the amount of feces and the amount of noise that that causes, and it's like, get a grip. First of all, it's not noise. It's conversation. The krellas are talking to each other. They're going, how are you, how are you going? Let's let's nest hair, Let's come down here and we're going to roost hair. How's everyone's day been? You know, who's found food, who's come from? Where are you come from? The mainland. It's communication, it's not noise. And second of all, with the problem with the secs, the kids would really have to pick up a kralla that is infected and sniff it to get the disease or lick the pew off the ground. Now, I'm hoping the children in Kangaroo Island don't go out and let the pool of the playground because that would be a worry and they could clean it up. So, you know, don't taste this idea of just calling them we're so quick to kill kill it is inconvenient.
00:32:13
Speaker 1: Just now, hang on again. You play with fire and you get burns. We get doctor clearing back with a formal that's that's a that's a yellow card.
00:32:35
Speaker 6: We did a yellow card just whenever we get dugged and clearly on that's a that's a yellow she's on a yellow because we lost that and a half seconds then. So just to clear it up for our listeners who are somewhat confused. Uh, the the the the, the less passionate version of it was to say that we as a species are quick to kill birds when they're all the doing is living their lives. Sort of the thrust of it, wasn't it We keep her on the lawn. I'm just I'm just waiting for Delight to catch up before we go back. I don't want it to wind. I don't want it to wind. So is the delight Damn, it's just it's still. It's still catching up. Let's let's go to Robin summoning Park with a with a big tray Friday for a second. The way to go back to Doctor Cleary pets if we have time, Rob, good.
00:33:27
Speaker 25: Morning, Yeah, morning guys. I've actually got a couple of those sort of things.
00:33:32
Speaker 14: One of them.
00:33:32
Speaker 25: You would have heard the old saying about never never drink on an empty stomach, wouldn't you. Yes, well, well the scourage version we've ben Berl's just never drink on an empty head.
00:33:46
Speaker 1: That is terrific.
00:33:48
Speaker 6: Let's get around wood Park pay best place of advice you've ever received.
00:33:53
Speaker 26: Hello, Hello, Oh, good morning, my darling.
00:33:58
Speaker 7: Ma'm always used me. You only get back in life what you give out.
00:34:03
Speaker 1: Yeah, great advice, great advice from your your mum, Pam. Wonderful stuff. Thanks lovely, pe I'll get.
00:34:08
Speaker 6: A bit of a new new age advice if you want to hear all the bits that go to wear that we don't we can't dump you. Listen to the live stream because Nathan just texted as God bless the live stream.
00:34:22
Speaker 1: Hey, we've got doctor Clearing back on the line. Doctor Cleary, can I just say before you know, we commend your passion.
00:34:30
Speaker 6: I agree with you.
00:34:31
Speaker 1: I feel sorry for these correllas. They are just doing what they do. But can I ask you the separate is shue though about them attacking the glossy black cockatoos. Is that is that something that birds and birds do do that sort of stuff, don't they because they want the territory.
00:34:47
Speaker 7: So that's that's the bit I would worry about mortal done the school kids licking up the pieces. They are causing displacement of Order Nathan species and that is a problem.
00:35:02
Speaker 5: Now.
00:35:02
Speaker 7: One of the reasons they're doing that is for competition for nesting hollows because there's so many of them. So one solution is plenty more trees and to stop cutting them down and giving them all a chance to have hollows and they can all nest, so even with the species is a lot better than trying to just shoot them all. And can I just say in Ireland the f E c K word is not considered a bad word. You the f U c K will get me bleeped off.
00:35:37
Speaker 24: C K.
00:35:40
Speaker 6: Yes, good point clearing, We apologize we might have misheard.
00:35:46
Speaker 27: D I feel that sensor checked.
00:35:49
Speaker 6: I mean it's like it leads literally diction dictionary definition censorship. That's exactly what.
00:35:56
Speaker 1: Well, particularly in a week where Donald Trump has been doing his bit to do. But no, we we might have misheard you.
00:36:04
Speaker 6: Yes, doctor Cleary, it is always a pleasure. We love having you.
00:36:09
Speaker 7: Love your crowds. They're very intelligent and they're just coming together at this moment because they're changing a food source. They're finding different foods just because they're chewing. They're got to keep the big short work with the species that's not your shoes them on cra.
00:36:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely well, said doctor Grindea Cleary, author of Widerbirds Sing Fan Fack fantastic.
00:36:33
Speaker 3: Knockdown, build two with metro homes, Sell one and move on, keep the other as an investment.
00:36:39
Speaker 4: Metro homes.
00:36:40
Speaker 7: They do it all for you.
00:36:42
Speaker 5: Deepen Ben Berbie and Will Goodis five double a.
00:36:45
Speaker 6: Breakfast, six seven, Good morning to he is joining us for the first time on this Friday, the tenth of April, where it's a little gry out there, but not as dark as it was at this time yesterday. I won't get the rain like we did ye yesterday. Fourteen to twenty meals in various places, fourteen here in the city in West Terrace, but got as much as twenty in other places in Metro Adelaide and then different story in other parts of South Australia as well, but a lot of rain remarkable. During the footy last night, we'll talk about the footy that's been and the footyhead with Tim Ginniver. Coming up this half hour, we'll talk about the week that's been in federal politics. The nine Radio Federal political editor Nelson Scott is going to join us on the show. A lot of gather around fun. We got nearest to the pin to come. Still plenty of time for your excellent meat Trey Friday entries as well, thanks to Olga's Find Foods. We're asking you about the best piece of advice you've ever received. This's been really fun in the first own a lot of terrific entries already, a lot of very thoughtful ones inspired by Bruce macivatd Giving Patrick, our producer who's going to be calling his first game of footy this week, and some sage advice.
00:37:48
Speaker 1: We should collect them and release them in book form, The Wisdom of comfixt Double A Audience, The wit and wisdom of the five Double A listeners. Because there's been a lot of wit and a lot of wisdom. And I'll tell you what, there's a lot of love too from our listeners for doctor Grone Cleary. A lot of people think we should get her on as a sort of you know, give her a broader remitider comment. I said to Patrick during the viginion of the news break. Can we do a deep dive on her socials? What else is she really into which will get her on about it? What do you make of the state budget? Dtr Cleary? What do you think of the fuel exis relief?
00:38:20
Speaker 6: She might get a lot are use out of that new less offensive version of the F words she started educating us about it.
00:38:28
Speaker 1: I still reckon it was pretty lineball myself, but.
00:38:32
Speaker 6: She made it, as she does about all things, a passionate defense of her use of F E c K, which she said in Irelanders means something quite different.
00:38:41
Speaker 1: It was a very evocative description of what the children not to do with the corrella as well.
00:38:48
Speaker 6: Uri and Beaumont, what's the best piece of advice you ever received?
00:38:52
Speaker 28: Kind of J Hi, you boy, you got you got good looking kids?
00:38:56
Speaker 25: Mate, I've saw him the other day.
00:38:59
Speaker 1: That was nice bumping in the mate, were h well, it was my son's birthday. We went down to Mouthie to get a pizza for lunch, which was fun, good good jumping.
00:39:08
Speaker 16: In he exactly thirty years ago in the prints selling Printing, printed by Trade and my old dad Kendle, my old boss and Concord Printing.
00:39:18
Speaker 25: The best advice you ever given me in.
00:39:19
Speaker 28: My life is, even if your face for the most damning evidence, always deny.
00:39:26
Speaker 6: Deny you die. Oh yeah, a few text paps on before zero eight Thursday ninety five. Yeah, just be with me. Actually, you know what doesn't matter. We got Quentin on the line morning, Quentin.
00:39:38
Speaker 16: Get eight fellows here?
00:39:39
Speaker 1: You going good?
00:39:40
Speaker 29: Thank you mate, I'm pretty pumped. So that's about football head.
00:39:44
Speaker 11: We'll get onto the wise words.
00:39:46
Speaker 14: It's really good to gather around our family.
00:39:48
Speaker 25: We've got obviously myself gold Coast, my wife is Frio, the.
00:39:52
Speaker 17: Eldest son at home is Sydney, and the youngest one who is port Adelaid.
00:39:56
Speaker 9: So we're just loving this football.
00:39:58
Speaker 1: It is great.
00:39:58
Speaker 15: It is great right weekend.
00:40:00
Speaker 29: Other used to say to me, A still tongue kicks the wise head M yeah. The only problem with that I wish I bloody will listen and it's got me into a lot of trouble and my wife calls me mister waffle.
00:40:16
Speaker 6: So yeah, it's led you to us to coming on to share your thoughts, which we appreciate, so thank you for that. I like this one from Kate on the text line. Kate says, never take criticism from someone that you wouldn't take advice from. So yeah, there was a thing to think about in an era of you know, fierce and florid feedback in the world of social media, isn't it. And this was This is quite a contemporaneous one. Someone said. Someone once told me not to lick Corella poo. Let's go to Dean in Parafield Gardens morning.
00:40:48
Speaker 11: Dean. Yeah, look, never ever take an on when they break about how good a driver they are the sky. An old English guy took me up to the oak Bak races a couple of times. He bragged about how good a drive he was over sixty years, never had an accident. Anyway, we'll go up to you oat Bak racing the brand new Bluebird and the side of Bluebird and we must have stalled this done thing about six or eight times. I mean, you can't you can't stall an automatic while you can, you can, and he's bragged how good he was over sixty years a drive. But I wouldn't mind five dollars for every accident. But he caused.
00:41:35
Speaker 1: Good gold Dan, Thank you mate, thank you for that.
00:41:38
Speaker 13: Da.
00:41:39
Speaker 6: Let's move on to another matter. We'll get back to some one Weetroy Friday causing just a moment. Jesus can do We just on a daily basis get stories of Wye from people that are having to commute on the on the freeway from the hills. We had, we've had the last forty eight hours. That truck crash at Krafer's, the b double that blocked every single lane.
00:42:02
Speaker 1: On the uptrack.
00:42:04
Speaker 6: We had. We got to send a story last night the person who want to come on, which is fair enough, but they sent us a story through bears were reading out before we go to the new member for Carvel, Matt Schultz, from somebody who said they were on a bus going to Crafers for more than four hours last night. Crafers the bus.
00:42:23
Speaker 1: They can get an uber from the city to Crafers for twenty bucks.
00:42:27
Speaker 6: Yeah, the bus left at five pm from the city and it didn't get there till nine pm. Because it was stuck in the traffic and the crash that had happened. The people weren't allowed to get off the bus either, by the way, so he just did to stick it out as they were doing some sort of you know, wild hall.
00:42:43
Speaker 1: Were they not allowed to get out of the bus because they're on the freeway, probably for safety reasons, Yeah, I would guess that's the case. Yeah, but if there's no traffic, yeah, movement whatsoever? What the rules of HR are somewhat rigid, are they? Yeah, in this stupidly over governed country. Yeah, even though the traffic isn't moving and has it moved for three hours, you're not allowed to get off your bus in case you get hit by something that's moving.
00:43:12
Speaker 6: This is now the world of our next guests, Matt Schiltz is the new MP for Carvel. Matt, good morning too, You're good to chat with you.
00:43:19
Speaker 29: Good morning boys, How are you today?
00:43:20
Speaker 1: Good? Thanks, Matt, Hey, congratulations on your win. You're a bit of an under the radar candidate, weren't. Yeah, we didn't even really pay too much attention, but you nailed it.
00:43:30
Speaker 29: Yeah, No, thank you very much. I'm obviously very pleased with the outcome, and it was a very tight race. I think carvel and happy to be as a newly elected member.
00:43:38
Speaker 1: So the freeway, the state of the freeway, the state of the roads, the absence of public transport, that would be number one with a bullet on your want list on guessing.
00:43:48
Speaker 29: Matt, yeah, I think if you recall, we spoke earlier in the new year, and it was about the exact same thing. We've had three incidents on the freeway in two days. People were struggling to get to and from work. Throughout my campaign, I had been very strong in advocating for an alternate motor transport, which was passenger rail. I think one of the things that we know is that the freeway back capacity become less reliable, less safe, less convenient, and we've just seen that again last night, albeit in a pretty extreme way. And just adding to the story that you told earlier about the passenger taking four hours the eat the craters, I actually had a nan resident on the phone to me last night. Took five hours to get home, So left the city at thirty, got home at ten thirty.
00:44:35
Speaker 6: Kriky. It's just ridiculous. So that it's.
00:44:41
Speaker 1: What do you think, what do you think is the solution.
00:44:45
Speaker 29: Well, obviously, I do think that the government needs to look at a broader transport plan for the Adelaide Hills. This is the main road from Adelaide to Melbourne. It's the main commuter route for Adelaide Hills residents getting to and from work. And to have basically a two lane road that turns into a three lane road as you go down the hill is the only way to get up and down is not acceptable. There are measures that could be put in place, such as removable concrete barriers. That's something that we do have on the Southern Expressway. They're just a band aid measure that's going to address when we do have accidents. It's not going to actually speak the capacity issues that we've got with the freeway itself.
00:45:24
Speaker 6: Yeah.
00:45:24
Speaker 1: Absolutely, good on your Matt. Matt Schiltz, the Independent member for carvill there in the Adelaide Hills. John will And is the CEO of the Department of Infrastructure and Transport and he's on the line now, John, good morning. Is there a fix for this because it does seem to be happening with great monotonless regularity.
00:45:44
Speaker 30: Yeah, good morning. What I can say is that yes, afternoon. Quite unusually, around about quarter past four in the afternoon, a b double jack knife on the up track around that Mount Lofty bridge and took out some light poles did hit the bridge, and you know, there was a large diesel skill and took some of the central medium barrier out, which is why we've implemented you unfortunately, a forty kilometer speed restriction this morning. We'll get the teams up there as quickly as possible, hopefully get some temporary barrier put back in and at least out of list those speeds to sixty kilometers an hour for later today. But it's very unusual circumstances. And you know, the really good thing is we have a project two hundred million dollar project to what we call Managed Motorway Stage two, and that's about some of that is about putting in removable or movable gates. As we've discussed, we do need to assess what the occurrence is of an incident, when and how we'll use those. But pleasingly, you know, from quarter past four yes afternoon, you know, to three am this morning we had all that opened and fortunately no one was injured in that incident.
00:46:52
Speaker 1: Is there a longer term solution at this though, John, I mean putting in gates and spending two hundred mil on whatever it is that's going to provide the rate at which the population is continuing to grow in the hills. Doesn't it mean that at some point we are going to need something other than that road?
00:47:08
Speaker 30: Yeah, what we do now, and we've we've done a bit of work on this. It's really clear that currently the Australian rail track line that there's used, that's the one that comes in from Melbourne there, it is winding through some tunnels. You know, certainly in the short medium term train line is something that that's not on the cards. You know, that is extremely expensive and would be very difficult to undertake that construction. So what we need to do is look at alternatives. We have the High Productivity Vehicle Network project that looks at duplicating the Swampoo Bridge through a bypass that's expected to take some of the heavy vehicles off the Southeastern Freeway. And we'll continue to invest in public transport. You know, a couple of years ago we invested nearly twenty million additional park and ride at Crapers More buses, nearly six hundreddditional services so it's not something that we're taking lightly. And we need to continue to make sure the Southeastern Freeway operates for nearly fifty five thousand vehicles that currently use it every day.
00:48:10
Speaker 6: Now, how much is expensive. We've just spent fifteen billion on South Road. What would rail cost Ballpark?
00:48:18
Speaker 30: Well, this will be in the thirty to forty billion we would expect.
00:48:21
Speaker 6: You know, you're right, it's expensive.
00:48:23
Speaker 30: It is extremely and you need to look at the you need to look at the warrants of it as well. You know, we do know Mount Barker's expanding, It's got a housing development there, but that's across across all of Adelaide, you know, whether it be in the northern suburbs, the southern suburbs, and we need to balance that expenditure up across the whole network.
00:48:42
Speaker 1: John wheel and the CEO of the Department of Infrastructure and Transport, thank you for that. What we really need, what the people of the Hills need to engineer somehow is a hung parliament federally with Rebecca Sharky controlling the balance of power. Correct, then they'll get they'll have a shin guns and from the center of Adelaide up to the hills or a chairlift. Maybe you can know you have whatever you want hellipads, a SpaceX rocket that launches you from here through the atmosphere directly to your couch at home. It was like between nineteen ninety six and nineteen ninety eight when father of eleven, Brian Harodine, the Tasmanian independent ex Labour senator who was a DLP, a lovely man, the late Senator Herodeine, he held the whip hand for the GST vote and the Telstra sale. He ended up opposing the GST. He said, hand on heart, I cannot and he voted against it, broke John al and Peter Crosstel's heart. But he did vote in favor of the Telstra sale in return for I think everyone in TASMANI had got given a half a million dollars.
00:49:47
Speaker 6: That's what you need. Healspeople.
00:49:48
Speaker 3: Yeah, knockdown Bill two with metro homes, sell one and move on, keep the other as an investment.
00:49:56
Speaker 4: Metro homes. They do it all for you.
00:49:58
Speaker 5: David pen Burby and five double a Breakfast, Tim ginnebe on five Double a Breakfast, twenty.
00:50:15
Speaker 6: Three minutes after seven Timmy g on this Friday morning to talk the footy. It's been the footy that is ahead, but also a bit about an important event he's at at this this morning at the Adelaid Convention Center. He's at the Sandy Roberts Myeloma Australia Breakfast. Timmy, good morning to you.
00:50:31
Speaker 9: I will get I pembo.
00:50:32
Speaker 31: Yes, just overlooking the Torrents as we speak, and there's people flowing into the convention center, not only for the Myeloma Australia Breakfast, but they have the Cindy Swan's Breakfast happening in about a half hour as well. It's just a hive of activity Adelaide, and just just a delight to be a part of.
00:50:50
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a It's really good. The things that this can dovetail with something like gather around it gives it extra grunt and purpose, doesn't it.
00:50:56
Speaker 31: Tim It certainly does. I mean the panel I've got this morning, which I'm going to find hard to sort of control. As Billy Brownless, There's mart Rachudo, Jeff is Derma Brera and Kevin Sheedy. I mean, god, how do I keep coming of these blokes in the line. It's not going to be easy, but hopefully we get some really good stuff, and we'll even have a Roman Bryan segment in the bend of Breakfast that it's going to be pretty good.
00:51:19
Speaker 1: Fucking welling Roan, we'll talking about him before he'd be caught up with Chris Jarma last night after the Crowze Jay when Chris was there feeding the feeding the players. It's a terrific weekend, isn't it. Tim? Do you reckon? What are you hearing around the trap? Do you reckon? We're going to hold onto it.
00:51:35
Speaker 31: Yeah, I reckon. We spoke to Andrew Dillon last night on the show. We were outside the Plaza, and it's just he said, minor detail, minor detail. Now that they're narrowing down on I think we want a longer term, and I think he's looking for a shorter term. So our longer term, I think was five to ten and his shorter term is three to five. So that's that's the sticking point.
00:51:56
Speaker 9: I reckon.
00:51:56
Speaker 31: The main one is his term at the moment, and China sort that out. But we did get a rumor off Caroline Wilson last night who popped in and said good a and she said that the Premier has an idea if we retain it that he wants a day and the Friday is the day to do it. He wants to where all eighteen teams, all aiding coaches, all Aiden captains and half a dozen of the best players get paraded around Adelaide and almost like a motor kate, So that that would bring a new concept to it again and bringing everybody into that CBD for the old show and tell.
00:52:33
Speaker 1: H Christmas pageant for footy fans. You got it.
00:52:40
Speaker 6: We're trying to make sense of the Crows game last night, and our listeners seem to be have a similar take. They were happy to win, but not necessarily impressed by the win. How did you see it?
00:52:53
Speaker 31: Yeah, well, I think the factor is your wont and the best thing about winning is it builds confidence. So you start to build your confidence back up and then you can start to build a bit of momentum with stringing some wins together. So I think the first porter call last night was just win. Now, there were some passages of play where the ball movement was so much better and more crisp, and that is the real pleasing thing. And you've got joshuh Slly having a breakout year. You've got rank and starting to touch the ball and do what Rankin does. So I think there was real positives out of last night that you've got to take and say, okay, that's step one. First thing is get yourself out of that losing.
00:53:32
Speaker 1: Right, and you've done that, and looking forward to Sunday with the Crows game tim sorry, the Port game against and Kilda on Sunday, how do you how do you see that shaping up? Look?
00:53:46
Speaker 31: I was talking last night about it and Port again had a win. Now you know it wasn't pretty, but it does build conference now and Sat Tilda have been very, very underwhelming. I reckon for their pre season high, they've been a bit underwhelming. They come here off a buy and then you probably think that's an advantage. I think it's a disadvantage and the hypever I think they have to wait and watch another eight games before they play. I reckon that might be Port Adelaide's opportunity to sneak one in here. I reckon they dropped one that we all expected them to win against North Melbourne and West Coast, So I reckon they've got to be able to bounce back into this one and steal one that maybe people don't think they can win, so the opportunity is there, it's where they can be tidy enough to do it.
00:54:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely good on your tim, Timmy g can tim every afternoon. Obviously on the five A Sports Show.
00:54:34
Speaker 6: We are giving away a meatro this morning thanks to Olga's Fine Foods. You just need to share with us the best piece of advice you ever received. 00:55:20

00:55:21
Speaker 2: They do it all for you.
00:55:23
Speaker 5: Deep in Penberthy and Will Goodings five double a breakfast.
00:55:31
Speaker 6: Twenty two minutes the way. We're going to flash back in time with Michael Smith this half hour, flashing back to some glory days of cinema in South Australia. Looking forward to that. Then a little bit later in the morning, nearest to the pin and feedback Friday after eight o'clock. We won't talk more about the extraordinary weather we've had in the last twenty four hours and indeed a wetter start of the year than we would usually have on average. As well, we've surpassed it thanks to the recent reign as well. We'll talk more about that, but first let's put some more people in running in the meat tray. This has been quite enjoyable this morning and in the process we're all getting some good advice. We're asking you about the best piece of advice you ever received. Let's go to Northfield, Audrey, Good morning, Good morning.
00:56:13
Speaker 26: My father was in the army and he always instilled in us and said you never get a second chance to make a first impression.
00:56:22
Speaker 1: That's a great turn of phrase. Isn't that what a wonderful saying Audrey who.
00:56:26
Speaker 6: Wanted to keep in mind. Thank you ordering it's got to Tony in Darwin.
00:56:29
Speaker 1: Good morning, Tony.
00:56:31
Speaker 32: Oh I go, it's just in Bangkok.
00:56:32
Speaker 12: At the moment.
00:56:35
Speaker 32: The advice I was given that it was fourteen years ago. I was spending by Sydney Bunty Buggy. He ned a holiday. He said he's got a house perd Kit. So in the Lord answer keys and he said, fable travel is the meaning of life. Over Forty trips to do kits in the last fourteen years and muliple locations around the world, so I'll do three overseas. So that changed my life, to be honest advice.
00:57:04
Speaker 1: Yeah lucky you mate. It sounds all right up in the tropics.
00:57:08
Speaker 6: Yeah, thank you very much. Let's go to Fulham Gardens. Paul, best pace advice you ever received. Paul's having a conversation there in the background.
00:57:21
Speaker 1: I like this one from Steve in Golden Grove. My Italian Non was the wisest person I ever knew. She always used to say that you can tell the character of a person by how they treat children and animals. It's a very good indicator. Well, there's actually a recognized link in criminology between the mistreatment of animals and serial killing, and it's a it's a And also in Dictators, you know Stalin as a kid used to burn ants with a magnifying glass.
00:57:49
Speaker 6: I believe that, yea, yeah, so much for equality for ants.
00:57:53
Speaker 1: Exactly something answered more equal than others.
00:57:56
Speaker 6: It's a quite it's a quite a transparent rhetorical device in film making as well, that once you see it, you can't unsee it. They call it the petting the dog moment. In filmmaking, we're often to establish subconsciously to the audience who the good guy in inverted commas or the you know, the the sympathetic character in the movie is you'll see them powder horse nose or they would pass in ruffle of dog's head early, the raffish cop, likable detective. That's right, because it's subconsciously established with the audience.
00:58:23
Speaker 1: I like this person.
00:58:24
Speaker 6: They were nice to an animal, and once you see that, you watch movies from now on and you can't unsee it. The petting the dog moment.
00:58:33
Speaker 1: One of the best scenes in Goodfellas, Tommy Joe Peshi's character when they've got the they've got the dying guy in the boot of the car. But they stop at Joe Pesci's mother's house to have some past her and she's of course played by Martin Scorsese's mum. And she's done that painting of the dogs. Remember that they were a little such a like authentically conversational line where Joe, one dog looks that way, that dog looks the other way, and this case Sydney going what's in it for me? Painting of two dogs?
00:59:09
Speaker 6: Just terrific. I think we've got Paul now in Fulham Gardens morning, Paul.
00:59:14
Speaker 15: Oh, Hi, guys.
00:59:16
Speaker 11: We were looking to expand our business years ago and an old uncle come up and he simply said, you won't shoot the fox if you don't shoot at it.
00:59:25
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's quite an enigmatic thing, isn't it.
00:59:30
Speaker 6: You won't shoot the fox if you don't shoot at it.
00:59:32
Speaker 1: It sounds like something Confucius what I said.
00:59:34
Speaker 6: I think I think that's Confucius did so that all sun Zoo, I'm not sure one of.
00:59:37
Speaker 1: The sounds more likely soun Yeahart of War and Fox Hunting.
00:59:45
Speaker 5: It's time to flashback with Michael Smith.
00:59:48
Speaker 6: Didn't read that volume let's flash back into Michael Smith for about seven years.
00:59:53
Speaker 1: Joye this morning, do you Michael?
00:59:54
Speaker 9: Good morning, Will and David. I know I'm not eligible for the meat tray, but I was giving a couple of pieces of advice. When I was in television, they said, be nice to people on the way up because you'll meet them on the way back down.
01:00:04
Speaker 11: That's very true.
01:00:07
Speaker 9: And when I started in radio, they said, be very very careful if you have an Irish bird expert on the program. And the way they say second.
01:00:16
Speaker 6: Now you get dubbed as well.
01:00:17
Speaker 1: Michael.
01:00:21
Speaker 9: Now, in terms of flashback, I'd like to start today by getting you guys to look out the window into High Marsh Square up to the northeastern corner of the square where the Pullman Hotel is. Do you remember what used to be there before the Pullman?
01:00:33
Speaker 1: Yes, well I remember a couple of things way way way back. I remember when the Liberty Bookshop used to be there, because I would buy a book with my pocket money every Friday night. But after that, I reckon, you are going to be talking about the Academy Cinema City Pinball area.
01:00:52
Speaker 9: Well, yes, David, A lot of people remember going to the movies but of course the playing the Pennies and the tabletop Space Invaders and pac Man was also very popular on Flashback. This week we're looking at lost Adelaide cinemas because there's a new book coming out next month called South Australian Picture Theaters and drive Ins, which remember places.
01:01:10
Speaker 6: Like the Academy.
01:01:10
Speaker 9: Can you believe it's almost twenty years since that was demolished. Some of the others that people might remember are the old Purple cinemas. Do you remember those? The Greater Union Purple Cinemas at Hindley Street and one of the great treats. And I only was seeing the movie, but afterwards you go across the road to arguably the best Gilati in Adelaide from.
01:01:29
Speaker 1: Flash Ah Flash Cillati and their coffee was unbelievable. That was such an institution, flash.
01:01:35
Speaker 9: Amazing place that actually started out as the Metro Theater built back by MGM in the nineteen thirties. Really opulent, built to Hollywood standards, lots of polished timber and gold. Another cinema center that people probably remember was the Glenell Cinema Center on Jetty Road that was demolished a long time ago. Now that in fact was Adelaide's first multiplex when it was developed by Wallace in the early seventies, but built as an Ozone fare back in in nineteen thirties. The Ozone was a huge chain around Adelaide. If you've been at a Semaphore Library on Semaphore Road, that was the original Ozone. There was also another huge one on St. Vincent Street in Port Adelaide, opposite the Council Chambers where the shopping center is now. That's had about two thousand people. And if you know where the only shopping center is on Onley Road, the big car park opposite the Council Chambers. There there were not one, but two massive cinemas that both sat about fifteen hundred people. One of them was an Ozone. The Regal on Kensington Road was an Ozone as well. All of these lost cinemas are featured in this new book out next month, but it also, as I mentioned, features drive ins, and I've caught up with its author Scott Smith, have listened to this.
01:02:45
Speaker 33: It's our pleasure to welcome you to your friendly drive in theater. Firstly, if you've not already done so, remove the speaker from the stand and place it in your car. Secondly, adjust the volume control to suit your requirements.
01:02:56
Speaker 8: Tolly Road at Snagnus was my big one, and then later on was Jep's Cross.
01:03:01
Speaker 6: You'd go to the back of the.
01:03:03
Speaker 3: Car and the mum and dad's car and you'd try not to fall asleep for the second movie.
01:03:08
Speaker 6: You always did.
01:03:09
Speaker 33: Thanks everyone, We trust you have a very pleasant evening.
01:03:14
Speaker 9: Lots of memories that if people are interested in the book's going to be launched next month. That's a pickert Illy by one of five a's favorite sons in Pilco.
01:03:22
Speaker 1: Oh sensational, terrific. What a great idea fun bit of local history. Makes you feel a bit melancholy too, looking at all of those majestic old what have they been replaced with TVs?
01:03:33
Speaker 6: Yeah no, but I mean the actual buildings or the building Yeah, well probably hotels and apartment blocks.
01:03:37
Speaker 1: Yeah yeah. Are people going to come here and marvel at you know what's replaced them in decades to come? I don't think so. Good flashback Michael, thank you, and great advice to live by about bird Ladies too.
01:03:50
Speaker 6: Michael Smith' seven Years flashback segment. Hey, we have a major winner to announce this morning because all this week, people have been correctly identifying David's Macka's order and in the process putting themselves in the running to win the Ultimate gather Around Experience for you and a friend, which includes a double pass to the Port Saints game Adelaide Oval Sunday Night, a Macca Zipline experience pre game which I think the maca Zip line was down because of the weather yesterday, but it will be well and truly up and running for Sunday, and you get exclusive pregame viewing and the boundary line during the team's warm up, all thanks to macas. Mcafes coffee blend is worth getting out of bed for it smoother, richer and available on the all day men, you try mcafe's best blend. Yet you've got all the winners, the minor round winners in a little bowl there. Oh that's the ASMR AMR. You know the sort of pleasant sounds.
01:04:41
Speaker 1: Okay, like garden sprinklers and yeah, the sound of a tinny being.
01:04:47
Speaker 6: Open, that kind of thing. Drew a winner. I'll play another pleasant sound. One of the people who are included in the in.
01:04:53
Speaker 1: The hang on the winner is Nick.
01:05:00
Speaker 6: You say you, Nick, You're having the ultimate gather around experience. We need to speak to Nick on Monday, I think too, to get a sense of how the zip line went. I'm intrigued by the zipline experience getting to the footy and then actually sitting inside the boundary to watch the teams warm up. What a thrill that would be great.
01:05:15
Speaker 1: You've being that.
01:05:15
Speaker 6: Close to it all happening like nineteen to seventy six at Footy Park. Autonomous sensory meridian response. There you go, that's what Amri is. I didn't know that.
01:05:25
Speaker 1: There you go.
01:05:26
Speaker 3: Knockdown Bill two with Metro Homes, Sell one and move on, keep the other as an investment.
01:05:32
Speaker 4: Metro Homes, they do it all for you.
01:05:34
Speaker 5: Deep and pen Burthy and Will Goodings five double a breakfast.
01:05:41
Speaker 6: Nine minutes two. We're going to make trade to give away this morning thanks to Olga's Fine Foods. Asking you about the best piece of advice you ever received, Simon and Durnham Court has called in Morning ar Simon.
01:05:51
Speaker 28: Morning Buys, first time caller, love the show Boys. Yeah, the best piece of advice has given to me as a kid. It was to turn the hot water off from the shower before you turn the cold water off.
01:06:05
Speaker 6: That's advice to live by, Simon. See, that's why you've made it to this ground age exactly.
01:06:10
Speaker 1: Vinni Ingreage, Good morning, Good morning guys.
01:06:13
Speaker 16: How are you today.
01:06:15
Speaker 25: I always remember my dad and I was.
01:06:19
Speaker 16: Going into school and he said, the first thing in life, you need an education.
01:06:22
Speaker 29: If you don't get an education, you get nowhere in life.
01:06:26
Speaker 1: One hundred percent. Vinnie Mark Twain had a similar line. He said, words are the poor child's arsenal. Give him a book and that's the thing that can lift up out of poverty. Good on your viny, good stuff anyear and the running to win that to meet Tray. It's been a lot of fun this week. We gather around, we get all sorts of people coming into town. We had Matthew Richardson on the program yesterday. We've obviously chatted with Timmy and Rowie over the course of the week and all the build up's been very exciting and now it's all very much underway with the Crows Blues. Last night at Adelaide over we welcome Dylan Buckley into the studio for mccarton Giants footballer. He's a podcast e. Draordan air in Australia at the moment deal.
01:07:02
Speaker 6: Good morning to you.
01:07:03
Speaker 20: Thanks so much having me boys, really appreciate it.
01:07:05
Speaker 1: Really good to meet you mate. It's a really good and growing space, isn't it where a lot of ex players are hanging out their shingle, crowding their own content, doing that sort of stuff, and you know, it must be quite a liberating thing and an important thing to do where historically we've looked at sport as being quite a narrow and almost constrained the thing where it's all kept to the playing field.
01:07:28
Speaker 34: Yeah, it is an amazing platform, and especially you know, you guys are in the exact same boat with the radio and the media and those sort of things. And I think you know, when I was coming through, I never had the three hundred game career or the Brownlow metals unfortunately, to sort.
01:07:42
Speaker 20: Of help me transition into that side.
01:07:43
Speaker 34: And I was actually doing when I was playing up at the Giants and part time work at just volunteering at Triple M up there and just learning how to panel and do all those sort of things just to get experience. And that's where the podcasting started. Did that to try and get my foot in the door. And then it just turned into its own stuff.
01:08:00
Speaker 1: If you read piss Hands the book, and I'm going to tell them to me too.
01:08:08
Speaker 34: Garry Jack, Jaron Jack, Brandon Jack, We've got there.
01:08:13
Speaker 6: We mentioned the whole Jack family. Good morning.
01:08:17
Speaker 20: It's a great read.
01:08:18
Speaker 11: Yeah.
01:08:18
Speaker 20: I actually have read the book because he's been on my pot as well.
01:08:21
Speaker 1: Ripping.
01:08:22
Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I thought.
01:08:23
Speaker 20: I thought.
01:08:23
Speaker 1: That's why I asked, because a lot of the mental health themes that book in its own brutal and sometimes hilarious but sometimes really troubling way, it really gets to the core of a lot of men's health issues.
01:08:34
Speaker 34: I reckon, yeah, for sure, And like, I think that we've come a long way obviously with mental health in the game and sport and just you know, life in general.
01:08:41
Speaker 20: But there's so many good things that come along with a footy club, and there's also some some.
01:08:45
Speaker 6: Not so good things.
01:08:46
Speaker 34: I think that you know, even that Brandon really talks about in his book come to life around that toxic masculinity, which is obviously something that a lot of us have experienced throughout and I think we're getting a lot better at. But there's also a lot of things that are really beneficial about football clubs.
01:08:59
Speaker 6: And community and.
01:09:01
Speaker 20: Being around like minded people.
01:09:03
Speaker 34: I know when I left the game, it wasn't so much the sport I missed so much, But it's just been in the locker room and being around people that you can have a driven goal towards and really motivated and you keep you on track. So there's pros and cons to everything, isn't there? And I think that book to apiculates that really. Well, Yeah, tell us about run for your club this weekend? Yeah, well, speaking of things that are good for you, run for your club. But it's a big weekend up here and gathering. You can even from my voice, I tipped a few Colum drafts in last night and the way that you've got to have his balance right fun and then you got to get out and have a bit of exercise.
01:09:37
Speaker 20: But run for your club with the AFL and in conjunction as well.
01:09:40
Speaker 34: All funds raised are going to the Women's and Children's Hospital Foundation here in Adelaide, which is amazing.
01:09:45
Speaker 20: So if you haven't heard of it, we're going for a run.
01:09:48
Speaker 34: Four k's, two k's out, two k's back down at the Footy Festival at eight am tomorrow morning. You can still jump on ticket tech and register. It's ten dollars, I said, and all funds go towards the Women's and Children's Hospital Foundation, which will be amazing, really really excited. Get down with your club colors, support your team, and you know you can go to your games and do whatever you want to do and if you've had a beer the night before, or you just want to go and have something with your family and have some fun.
01:10:14
Speaker 20: It's a really really cool activation.
01:10:15
Speaker 1: And it's not like a sort of racing against timetop scenario. You don't have to go and do a PB, do you. It's always just about finishing some heroes.
01:10:22
Speaker 34: There's there will be some blokes with capes on. I'm sure down there some men and women that want to raise each other and be heroes.
01:10:28
Speaker 20: But no, definitely not this.
01:10:30
Speaker 34: It's for all abilities walking, whether you're pushing a pram or you're having to run a jog or you want to, as you said, get your cape on and have a sprint. I can confirm there probably won't be in the AFL recruiters down there, so you.
01:10:41
Speaker 1: Don't you don't have to do that.
01:10:44
Speaker 6: But did you were you the kind of football of the did you love the preseason to fit this stuff or you just just get through it. Oh god, it because some blokes love it, don't they.
01:10:53
Speaker 34: I didn't love it, no, but I do have a funny story for you just quickly. But in footy you've got to give it.
01:11:00
Speaker 1: You're all right.
01:11:01
Speaker 34: And I had a really bad lesson one day in terms of putting my cave on being a hero. We're doing these like sprints and it was you had to do like ten one hundred sprints or whatever it was, and I'd come, you know, second last in all of them. And the last one was the guy I said, David Butterfan. He's like, if you win this, you can finish. So I've gone, okay, cool, I can win this.
01:11:21
Speaker 6: I'm out.
01:11:21
Speaker 20: So I sprinted.
01:11:23
Speaker 34: Obviously had some stuff in the tank that I wasn't using and one thinking okay, I'm going to get out now I won't have to do it.
01:11:29
Speaker 20: It was mate, you've come last in every other one.
01:11:30
Speaker 6: He goes, you're.
01:11:31
Speaker 20: Staying in for so I had to stay and do it the whole thing again because I didn't do it the first time. So you've got to Yeah, that was a young man. I've got a bit smarter.
01:11:42
Speaker 6: You could register run for your club on Tick a Tick and listen to Dylan Friends and Footing and Friends the Wonderful podcast as well. Dylan Buckley, great to have you in the studio much enjoy your time here in Adelaide.
01:11:53
Speaker 20: I love Adelaide Cheers.
01:11:56
Speaker 3: Knockdown bill too with Metro Homes, Sell one and move on, keep the other as an investment.
01:12:02
Speaker 4: Metro Homes they do it.
01:12:03
Speaker 2: All for you.
01:12:04
Speaker 5: David Penberthy and Will Goodings five double a breakfast.
01:12:12
Speaker 1: Minute to wait.
01:12:13
Speaker 6: We might sneak in a couple of meet tre Friday callers before the eight o'clock news. Andy and Henley beach As First up. Andy, what's the best piece of advice you ever received?
01:12:22
Speaker 15: Well, that's good morning. How are you good?
01:12:24
Speaker 6: Thanks? Andy?
01:12:25
Speaker 15: All right, here's one you're maybe not of her. You can lead the host to water, but a pencil must be led.
01:12:35
Speaker 6: Nice little English language peaks of advice there, Eddie.
01:12:38
Speaker 1: Thank you.
01:12:38
Speaker 6: Mario and Hectorville, Good morning.
01:12:40
Speaker 2: Morning, gentlemen. How are we good?
01:12:42
Speaker 1: Thanks Mario.
01:12:43
Speaker 2: That's good being of your visits.
01:12:45
Speaker 10: David.
01:12:45
Speaker 2: There's some advice I took in some I should have taken, but anyway, one one I like to go by is Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all.
01:12:55
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, don't we know that? Yes, what was it we saying earlier about Correllas?
01:13:05
Speaker 6: Yeah, exactly right. That's a good one, Mario. Thank you keeping coming in. All of these golds are in the running within the meat tray thanks to Olga's fine Foods. We still have plenty of opportunity to win feedback Friday next hour and are very special. Nearest to the pin not too far away.
01:13:23
Speaker 3: Knockdown build two with metro Homes, Sell one and move on keep the other as an investments Metro Homes.
01:13:30
Speaker 4: They do it all for you.
01:13:32
Speaker 5: De good been Birdy and will Goodings five double a breakfast.
01:13:39
Speaker 1: Seven after eight.
01:13:40
Speaker 6: Do you'd think we fast forward about ten months, going from the morning this time yesterday compared to today. The sun's streaming through the window. You can see blue sky yesterday. We're I had the headlights on driving past us here in Heinmarch Square. This morning it looks like a nice autumnal sort of a day and the big rains behind us. So if you're in town for gatheround the weather that will be vastly better than it was yesterday. And for that remarkable five six minute period in the third quarter last night where and I genuinely looked like they were playing the game in you know, bang Kok or something.
01:14:11
Speaker 24: Right.
01:14:11
Speaker 1: I didn't go, did you. I didn't go. I was just talking about Boss Craig. He was there, he's uh, he's still drying out. It was just I've never seen it was like a drowned rat. When he got home, him and his mates were on the hill. They carried on.
01:14:22
Speaker 6: There's no escape there, no, no, there's absolutely now where you can go. All right, coming up a little bit later this half hour, what.
01:14:31
Speaker 1: A bit of the Stirt fans are down on the backs of the Torrens, the hijacked Sunrise fuilding up a Sturt banner, zeentral foot.
01:14:41
Speaker 6: He's infiltrated, afil gatheround.
01:14:44
Speaker 1: Stir should be playing Essendon tomorrow.
01:14:46
Speaker 6: Stir people everywhere, eat them. I didn't meet a Stirt fan for about twenty five years, and then suddenly there's just Stu fans everywhere.
01:14:51
Speaker 1: What do you mean you didn't meet us?
01:14:52
Speaker 6: Just say I didn't hear about anyone who likes Stir And then all of a sudden, ever had a bit of.
01:14:55
Speaker 1: A white period in the nineties. Yeah, almost went bankrupt. See Doming fixed all of that. Yeah, God bless her everywhere now and Jason covering up very shortly. Just braithwait from nine News. We'll talk about the weather and what's in store for the rest of the weekend. Feedback Friday after eight point thirty. But first it's time for breaking it. So breaking comes with the caveat. We're going to call it. We're going to say that the Gatheround deal, the extension deal, is going to be done this weekend. The latest mail I've got is that it's close. Now, We're not going to be so crazy is to completely go out on a limb.
01:15:33
Speaker 19: And call it.
01:15:33
Speaker 1: But our reading of it is that we understand that there's going to be more talks today between the AFL and the state government. The sticking point is it's not the extension. So the AFL is of the view that Adelaide s A definitely deserves to have it longer. So they're not going to up camp Pool stumps and say, you know, to borrow a line from Why Antony or Summer Ranch, the winner is Sydney. You know that's not going to happen in twenty twenty seven, South Australia is definitely going to have it for you would think at least another four to five years. But the problem is whether the state government thinks that that's long enough. The other issue is the Advertiser reported this morning is this and I don't know how much, how big a grounds well there is for it. But the Andrew Prudham idea the Sydney chairman, Matt Abraham's brother in law as well, hugely successful banker and of South Australian. He's advocating that Round zero be turned into a new Queensland and New South Wales based opening round where all the teams go up to the two traditional rugby league states and play all of Round zero there.
01:16:50
Speaker 6: Well, I could definitely they need to create something that will coded for the ninety seven juniors in Western Sydney. That's recent AFL converts. The Premier's view, however, is that that would sort of undermine the integrity of gather round where it becomes. I don't know if we'll go to Adelaide because as I went to the Sydney Round zero games instead and the exclusivity of it, which is what we pay through our taxes for what would be lost, So that's a bit of a sticking point, although whether it whether that od Flyers remains to be seen. But I would say is there.
01:17:27
Speaker 1: Is a fifty to fifty chance that by the time the players are warming up for the Port Saints game on Sunday that the deal will be done fifty to fifty chants. Let's put it at maybe more, maybe eighty twenty. So what we thought we might do is turn breaking at eight into a competition.
01:17:50
Speaker 6: Well the very first breaking eight meets nearest to depend So you need to tell us at what time this weekend it will the gather round extension be announced? To the minute, We're going to do it to the minute's in a minute to the minute the time the gather round extension is publicly announced. Eight double two to three double o double. Oh, you got to say the day, the hour, the minute that you think the gather around extension will be announced.
01:18:17
Speaker 1: And just to frame it, given the politicians love being the bearers of good news and Peter mallen Owsk has probably still fancies himself as one of the few politicians in Australia who can walk onto a sporting arena without getting booed. But with getting cheered. He will be at the Port game first bount six forty five, So you think if there's an announcement it's going to it would probably be at the game that he, as a Port Tragic will be attending. The game starts at six forty five between Port and the Saints at the Adelaide Oval left nearest good pin.
01:19:00
Speaker 6: On five double a breakfast get calling now eight double two to three double oh double oh? What time this weekend will the Gather round extension be announced? Nearest to the pin is what we're aiming for. Did you see the speaking of which, well thell the calls populate the suggestion that Gather that the World Car Round could be sold off. Have you had that rumor over the weekend?
01:19:24
Speaker 1: What even is the wild card round? Well, that's just the round round eight nine ten one. Well this is this is pre finals round.
01:19:31
Speaker 6: This is the pre finals round, so eight v nine seven ten.
01:19:38
Speaker 1: It could be auctioned.
01:19:39
Speaker 6: Well, they could all be played in Perth those games, or they could all be played in Sydney or Tazzy or whoever pays the highest fee.
01:19:48
Speaker 1: But how does that work if you've got the home ground advantage?
01:19:51
Speaker 6: Or it just is what who's who are the AFL's ever had a bit of commercial self interest getting the way the fixture of degrity.
01:20:01
Speaker 1: Look at all the times geelongs finished top land up for him to play all the games at the MCG exactly right. Well look at the gwsv Richmond Grand Final, when I think in the entire history of GWS at that point they'd played eight games at the MCG exactly whereas Richmond had played the previous eight games of that season at the MCG or eight out of ten or something.
01:20:23
Speaker 6: I think it's a crazy idea. I just wondered why Why is it crazy? Because I think you play all year to get home ground advantage in the finals, and that's one thing that should be beyond you.
01:20:34
Speaker 1: Know, commercial with the bottom with the bottom of the eight to ten.
01:20:39
Speaker 6: Yeah, but it's just it's only disadvantaging seven to eight.
01:20:44
Speaker 1: Yeah, it doesn't that create more of an incentive to finish higher.
01:20:48
Speaker 6: Sure, but it just feels like every if every component of the drawer is suddenly a commercial opportunity, a property. Like it just feels what are we doing? We're playing sport or this is a series of exhibition matches to try and siphon as much takespays money.
01:21:03
Speaker 1: It's a very unwilgeding thing to say. I reckon, Well, no, no, because that isn't a sport worldwide showing that everything should be up for consideration.
01:21:13
Speaker 6: Yeah, except competitive integrity. I'm a socialist when it comes to sport. I believe in the draft and the salary cap you pink hap, just in no other walk of life. That's exactly all right. Nearest of the pin, we've contill. Still take some more calls eight double two three double o double. Oh we've got five. We could do another five, you think, Pat, if you want to call in nearest of the pin? At what time this weekend will the gather around extension and be announced? You said, and breaking eighty twenty proposition eighteen twenty that it will happen, Kathy in theban and start us off.
01:21:51
Speaker 7: Okay, I reckon. Sunday Press Relief at eleven thirty.
01:21:56
Speaker 6: Eleven thirty, Thank you, Kathy alf in Athleston, good morning.
01:22:00
Speaker 35: Yeah, I'm with here six forty five Sunday night.
01:22:02
Speaker 21: I'll be there on out.
01:22:05
Speaker 15: About.
01:22:05
Speaker 6: So siren goes, gather around's been extended, yes, and then they could that would be good. That'd be dramatic. Chris Englen, ELG North, Good morning.
01:22:15
Speaker 27: Six thirty two Sunday night.
01:22:18
Speaker 1: I like that.
01:22:18
Speaker 6: Yep, six thirty two. That feels that works. Matt and Summon and park Wen. Do you think it'll be announced?
01:22:23
Speaker 25: Okay, guys, I reckon, we'll be I was going to say eleven thirty on Sunday as well. That's been done, so I'm going to go eleven thirty five.
01:22:29
Speaker 32: So where I disrupt the DeLong West Coast game?
01:22:32
Speaker 6: Yes? Good cool, Thank you, Matt, Dave and my Lend Good.
01:22:35
Speaker 25: Morning morning, Sunday six fifteen.
01:22:38
Speaker 6: Six fifteen pm, presumably Dave, yeah, PM, yep, thank you. David Alberton, Good morning morning guys.
01:22:46
Speaker 36: Five minutes after the final siren on Sunday night, the boys will be out on the ground.
01:22:51
Speaker 1: Oh okay, what a what a way to weed and gather ound? That would be Dave. You'll be getting along obviously.
01:22:57
Speaker 36: Dave, absolutely with bells on.
01:23:00
Speaker 6: Great great round and the last one I think. Trevor and Seaford, good morning, good day.
01:23:05
Speaker 15: Half time in the Port game?
01:23:08
Speaker 6: What time and what time would that be? You're again Trevor have a stab?
01:23:12
Speaker 37: What time does the game start?
01:23:14
Speaker 6: Six forty five five six.
01:23:16
Speaker 37: Forty five, right, so that'll be about eight o five be a present, that'll be the mid that'll be the halftime enter time.
01:23:27
Speaker 6: Very good during the mini league, tend you what.
01:23:30
Speaker 1: It's hard to say how long a quarter of AFL football is about one of the quarters last night went for thirty six minutes.
01:23:35
Speaker 6: Yeah, well, we're randomly railing about things in the AFL.
01:23:37
Speaker 1: This the reviews every how funny was the new book.
01:23:45
Speaker 6: He's just smart. He knew what he will play. It will play, But I mean, what are we doing.
01:23:50
Speaker 1: It's terrible.
01:23:51
Speaker 6: The game will survive if there's one or two missed ricochets off the floor. It was in the middle of the rain soap third quarter where no one was scoring any This is outright the Jason dun Still had a real potshot at it. He said, this isn't making the game better. I was a big technology and sport guy, but I've totally reversed my position every day of doing it.
01:24:10
Speaker 1: If they either do it the way the s ANFL does or not at all, like it's the sort of in between things, its it's silly.
01:24:16
Speaker 6: Well, yeah, but they've litigated within an inch of its life. Now it's not last touch. It's like literally, it's not last position as in an effective a kick or a hand pass its last ricochet. Yeah, yeah, yeah, what are we doing Breton or lunger downs?
01:24:30
Speaker 29: Good morning, Good morning fellas I reckon five forty five on Sunday.

01:25:53
Speaker 6: Don't trouble trouble unless trouble troubles you.
01:25:56
Speaker 33: I like that.
01:25:57
Speaker 1: Yeah, how did how did Wil from MITCHI men up with the misnomer? Tom from Gower, Let's not trouble trouble. No, that's not trouble trouble.

Speaker 6: Brian and Ingle Farm, good morning, Yes, good.
01:26:08
Speaker 25: Morning, did you too?
01:26:10
Speaker 35: And this is an old one when and I'm a bus old too, but it's got to be back in the forties when I was like maybe twelve thirty and something like that, my father said to me, son, the greatest friend you make in your life are your mother and your bank book. It took me a long long time for that to were sinking as to what he meant for these ride. You've got two good friends, your mum and your bank book and.
01:26:40
Speaker 1: You, Brian, thank you. Our bank book's gone the way of the day day, hasn't it. I can remember when the old Savings Bank of South Australia as it was called, there was one near us on south on South Road that later became Banker Say, and it became an archery store near the Tonsley high Yeah, an archery store, but it was originally the Savings Bank of South Australia. I remember going in when I was about five years old and getting a little canvas bank book and I'd bank twenty five cents a week and they'd stamp it and you'd see your bank book with all the stamps. You'd fill in the deposit slip. Then I started banking fifty cents.
01:27:20
Speaker 6: A week and they still had bank books when I was in reception and had like dollarmide accounts and things like that. You had little No, I didn't. Didn't they kind of realize or didn't someone say maybe having banks try to make customs out of four year olds just.
01:27:38
Speaker 1: Beyond the pale.
01:27:39
Speaker 6: I think it's good. I thought that was the argument was, yeah, well it doesn't worry me. But that was the argument, was it not this sort of sort of predatory corporate behavior. Try to sign you up, but you haven't got any choice.
01:27:49
Speaker 1: Eventually you're going to I think it's good when the kids get birthday money, like a banker, give me the cash and i'ld transfer it into your app and then I've got cash for stuff. Go to any of those gift shops. That's why you're liquid.
01:28:04
Speaker 6: That was Joe.
01:28:06
Speaker 1: We're just doing your research.
01:28:07
Speaker 6: It's a very big news story. Divisioner, all right, it's let's not dwell on that.
01:28:14
Speaker 12: Jess.
01:28:14
Speaker 6: Both wait and I used to step keeping a close eye on the forecast for this weekend because Jess, it was extraordinary yesterday, wasn't it.
01:28:22
Speaker 27: Oh my gosh, what a rough welcome for all of our poor visitors so flew in from in state. We're like, hey, welcome to Adelaide. Let's celebrate gun around with some big old thunderstorms, get things fired.
01:28:33
Speaker 1: Up, torrential downpours. And then and then that that second blast last night that caught everyone on sort of on the hop of it didn't, Jess, you know what.
01:28:43
Speaker 27: It was one of those ones I was watching, you mean, the one at Adelaide Oval last night. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was the one. And I was like, I was trying to pick it whether that was going to hit us or not, and was you know, and watching it come through and I thought, oh, it could go either way. And then of course, right on top of Adelaide Oval we get another another bucketing down. But hey, hopefully everybody had their jackets with them, you know. After the weather during the day, Yeah, that.
01:29:07
Speaker 1: Was full on. It's crazy. So for the weekend though, is it clearing up?
01:29:10
Speaker 7: Though?
01:29:11
Speaker 6: Yes, today looks a lot better.
01:29:13
Speaker 27: Well, don't celebrate too soon with today. This morning looks great. There's a little bit of stun around. We'll probably get some more showers this afternoon and tonight, so it might we might even be showery again at the footy tonight, but like not like yesterday. Like it's just more just like your guard and variety, you know, shower here and there. And then the weekend looks pretty good, like you know, we're in the high teens, so it's not overly warm. But by the time we get this Saturday, Sunday. We're looking at you know, half a chance of a light little sprinkle here and there, but it's nothing that's you know, really going to bother anyone. So I think like, as far as the trend goes, it's getting better. Like we've got the worst of it out of the way, and you know, I think it'll be you know, it's it's pretty pretty easy weather from here on in.
01:29:56
Speaker 1: Well, that's good, Jess. You have a great weekend to get onto any of the games.
01:30:00
Speaker 5: You know what.
01:30:01
Speaker 27: I'm actually taking the kids home to Mount Gambia, right. I got the dates mixed up when I booked the holiday for the school holidays, and I'm like, oh my god, I booked it for gather around. I need to like do my calendar better for next year. But I will say that for the kids who are on school holidays from next week, even though the weather's been a little bit study to gather around, next week looks absolutely beautiful. So all the businesses will go home and we'll keep the nice weather to ourselves here in Ava.
01:30:29
Speaker 6: That's a nice Jess, have a terrific weekend. Just Breathwaite from nine News. Barry Ethelston's called in Barie, you got a great piece of advice.

01:31:27
Speaker 6: I'm not sure. That's don't really, it's not really advice, more of an old fashioned blue limerick.
01:31:35
Speaker 1: If you want to live bidon. There wasn't a yeah something about Silesia. Yes, anyway, let's get a shadow back. Andrew, good morning, good morning.
01:31:44
Speaker 11: This one's from old Tolm Graham, who's one hundred and two years old now, and he taught me.
01:31:50
Speaker 7: Here's to it and to it again.
01:31:51
Speaker 30: If you ever get to it and don't do it, you may ever get to it to do it again.
01:31:56
Speaker 6: That's a lot of pretty word play. Yeah, terrific like that. Andrew, Robbie and Hyde Park, good morning.
01:32:02

01:32:15

01:32:57
Speaker 1: Okay, I think that.
01:33:00
Speaker 6: I think that's actually great advice to be honest with your feeder. You think that's brilliant. All right, We're to take a.

01:34:11
Speaker 1: Yeah, well, you need to say the name of an actor, and then you need link an actor who has been in a movie withou act that will that act, that will that actor, until you get to Kevin Bacon.
01:34:21
Speaker 6: Oh really, I always thought six degrees of Kevin Bacon was how many steps it takes to link you to Kevin Bacon.
01:34:27
Speaker 1: I thought it was in movies.
01:34:28
Speaker 6: Oh maybe they would never take six steps, then, wouldn't the man's made a lot of films.
01:34:32
Speaker 1: You've been in a lot of movies.
01:34:33
Speaker 6: I always thought it was you know, you know someone you know, because because the idea is to start with.
01:34:38
Speaker 1: Someone really obscure. I don't know heavy air bardem okay, let's not do it live or taine.
01:34:46
Speaker 6: But I always thought it was a variation of the idea that you're there's six degrees of separation everyone on Earth, and people say everyone knows popularized it by saying six. Well, that was my understanding. Maybe I think you're right. I might be wrong about it, all right, I think we've got enough feed back Fridays. We'll get to those in a moment. Sue at Engle Farm, what's the best piece of advice you ever received?
01:35:06
Speaker 26: Our Grade four teacher was called missus Lambert. She's an older lady, probably the age of our grandma's and either sixty years later. I always remember exactly you've got. You kept telling us the whole year. If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing.
01:35:19
Speaker 6: Well, Yeah, yeah, there is good advice. That's that's a that's one a colonel that's lasted through the generations. I think that one. You still hear that to this day. Yeah, all right, let's feedback.
01:35:35
Speaker 1: Friday and Dames back.
01:35:39
Speaker 6: Starting in South clempland Steve joins us for feedback Friday morning.
01:35:43
Speaker 36: It's Steve Morning, guys and Timbo. I always thought it was movie actors as well, not just normal people.
01:35:50
Speaker 1: Yeah, Will's versions more entertaining, though I reckon I might have it completely backwards.
01:35:55
Speaker 6: Who knows, Steve? Are you going to gather around game?
01:35:59
Speaker 36: Steve, I've already.
01:36:01
Speaker 17: Gone to mine.
01:36:01
Speaker 36: I went last night and watched the Crows when and that's me done?
01:36:06
Speaker 21: We undercover mate, Ah quickly retreated under cover.
01:36:11
Speaker 33: That's for sure.
01:36:14
Speaker 6: Yeah, it was remarkable weather last night. A lot of discussion this week about the massive uptick in people buying electric vehicles. Steve, would you ever consider buying an ev.
01:36:24
Speaker 36: After I saw those lineup just to do a family holiday. Absolutely not.
01:36:31
Speaker 6: Yeah, well, how many three four hours people were waiting because it's just a lack of charging stations.
01:36:36
Speaker 36: The wars might as we get on a flight overseas if you're going to wait five hours just to charge your car up.
01:36:41
Speaker 6: Yeah, the interest in the EV's is outpaced the infrastructure, that's for sure. I can always get the bust to crafers, though I do.
01:36:47
Speaker 1: Something that takes one.
01:36:50
Speaker 6: Hey, speaking of trip, Steve, what's the furthest you've ever been away from your home? We've got four human beings that traveled the farthest from Earth that anyone has this last week. What's the furthest you've ever been?
01:37:04
Speaker 36: I've been to several cities in America and Europe, so I can't really figure out off the top of my head which one would be the furthest away.
01:37:12
Speaker 6: What was your favorite one? Didn't mean to maybe tell us.
01:37:14
Speaker 36: That you're gonna be jealous of this one? Well, I went to Germany for the two thousand and six World Cup and.
01:37:19
Speaker 6: Nothing kidding me?
01:37:21
Speaker 1: Did you see? So were the Japan game?
01:37:26
Speaker 8: Japan?
01:37:26
Speaker 6: No, that's my favorite sporting moment of all time.
01:37:32
Speaker 36: Was five rows in front of us, your kidding behind the bar after the game.
01:37:36
Speaker 25: It was awesome.
01:37:37
Speaker 6: I just want to talk to you now, Steve about this for the next twenty minutes, but we're going to do other things. It was the town kais of sar Kaiser Slaton. Yeah, yeah, all right, Steve. We had no getting the One Nation candidates on. They're busy all week. When do you think the first time we're going to chat with the One Nation candidate is?
01:37:53
Speaker 11: Oh?
01:37:53
Speaker 36: It's any matter of time before one of them stuff stops, isn't it. Apologize?
01:38:00
Speaker 6: That's been the history of it, hasn't it. Queensland's a guide, so maybe Steve's onto something there.
01:38:04
Speaker 1: We'll see.
01:38:05
Speaker 6: We'll keep requesting because there's some interesting stories to tell. Thank you for that, Steve. Let's go to parallel eat Daniel, Good morning.
01:38:11
Speaker 11: Good how are you?
01:38:13
Speaker 6: We're excellent, Daniel. Dad. What's the best thing we've gotten from Victoria?
01:38:19
Speaker 33: Oh?
01:38:20
Speaker 12: Wow?
01:38:21
Speaker 16: Where to start?
01:38:22
Speaker 17: Some half the good footballers before they started taking hour So there's a good start there.
01:38:26
Speaker 1: Yeah, that works.
01:38:28
Speaker 17: I'd say we're taking all their infrastructure projects because the South Australian roadways are going to be never before seen once we are finished.
01:38:36
Speaker 1: But we could get one of their belt and road initiatives that the Chinese Communist Party helped pay for. That would be good.
01:38:42
Speaker 15: Oh, I don't know about that.
01:38:44
Speaker 1: We've already got the big head office there for him in Joslyn, so why not, you know, get with some of Dan's roads as well. How much did you last to spend on petrol?
01:38:53
Speaker 6: Daniel?
01:38:55
Speaker 15: All right, you're.
01:38:56
Speaker 17: Gonna probably fall over on this one. Two hundred and sixty four dollars?
01:39:00
Speaker 1: Oh, mate, Diesel?
01:39:03
Speaker 17: Yeah, Diesel?
01:39:04
Speaker 6: What sort of car?
01:39:06
Speaker 17: That's a key A Carnival. I don't understand the dollar leads a difference between diesel and letters at.
01:39:11
Speaker 1: The moment, the key of Carnival. That's the big key, e Van, isn't it, Daniel?
01:39:17
Speaker 14: Correct?
01:39:18
Speaker 1: Oh mate, that hurts two hundred and sixty seven dollars.
01:39:21
Speaker 6: That is just an outrageous amount of money.
01:39:25
Speaker 16: Mate.
01:39:25
Speaker 15: You've got to do it.
01:39:26
Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, Chris us. It makes a business expensive. Are you getting into any of the activities for gather around Daniel? Do you go to the HQ? Do you go to see the Big Ball in Roundell Mall? If you get into any other sort of things going on around town.
01:39:39
Speaker 15: Yeah.
01:39:39
Speaker 17: So I've got a tour group that I'm taking out to the Barossa tomorrow. Can't wait. It's going to be amazing.
01:39:46
Speaker 6: Hence the diesel.
01:39:49
Speaker 17: Yeah, personally going to the Fort Saint guilda game on the Sunday night.
01:39:53
Speaker 6: Excellent, brilliant. This felt like more of a relevant question last night. But are you ready for winter?
01:40:00
Speaker 26: Yes?
01:40:01
Speaker 6: What is winter?
01:40:02
Speaker 1: Do you have to the tourism stuff?
01:40:05
Speaker 17: If anything, it's better?
01:40:06
Speaker 6: Is it really because of the people, like the wine regions?
01:40:10
Speaker 17: Yeah, red wines, nice open fires?
01:40:12
Speaker 10: Yeah, good food.
01:40:14
Speaker 6: Daniel, in three words, you just sold me on winter. That was excellent. Thank you. Let's go to Raymond and Salisbury around things out for feedback Friday. Raymond, when did you last run the Gotland on the Southeast Freeway?
01:40:27
Speaker 36: Oh it was too long ago, mate. I used it quite regularly for work, but also to get to my favorite little place in Victoria called Nelson. So yeah, it's been a few months at least.
01:40:40
Speaker 6: What's good about Nelson?
01:40:43
Speaker 13: Hell?
01:40:43
Speaker 11: What's not good about it?
01:40:44
Speaker 9: It's God's country.
01:40:45
Speaker 36: The only thing I'll tell you the only thing that's not good about it is that in Victoria.
01:40:51
Speaker 1: All Right, we had something to google you know, we got the major GP, we get Nelson. Yeah, anything's possible.
01:40:56
Speaker 6: Malley onto it.
01:40:58
Speaker 1: Which yeah, I was just going to.
01:41:00
Speaker 36: Give you a bit of a tip about Nelson. It should actually be in South Australia. The reason it's in Victoria is because back in the day when they surveyed the borders, there was actually a stuff up and the border is about five k I think to the west of where it should actually be. And if you look at if you actually look at a map of Australia, supposedly about halfway up the border, it actually changes they you know, on a map that looks straight, but it's actually not.
01:41:26
Speaker 9: There's actually a five k difference.
01:41:29
Speaker 1: Is this sounds like the Glenelg River, isn't that mate?
01:41:32
Speaker 14: It is?
01:41:32
Speaker 11: Mate?
01:41:33
Speaker 12: Yeah?
01:41:33
Speaker 1: Yeah, good Kayking spots there Apparently this is like the world's biggest wined.
01:41:37
Speaker 6: What local council can do with this fencing dispute? This is a good one, Raymond, Which regional suburbs should be hosting a gather around game? You think should we get it, you know, for the next few years?
01:41:49
Speaker 36: Oh yeah, I think, like everyone's saying for Clarence Vale has to be the Bales, doesn't that Yeah. Yeah, a Neddy or someone said it's got the best of both worlds. Yeah, you buy the sea, you buy the vine. It's just got everything, hasn't it.
01:42:03
Speaker 6: Yeah, Yeah, it's good spot. And just lastly, Raymond, we had Dylan Buckley on a little bit earlier spooking the run club that's on this weekend. Would you join a run club?
01:42:15
Speaker 36: Hell no, anybody who knows me and has seen my phys equal, No, that's.
01:42:20
Speaker 6: Just not going to happen. Good on your mate, Fit and firing Raymond and Salisbury. Who do we like for the Footloose and the Smeg appliants?
01:42:30
Speaker 1: I reckon Let's give Stephen Raymond the Footlooth tickets and I reckon Daniel. As a minor recompense for paying two hundred and sixty seven dollars to fill up your car, you can get a free blender from Smeg.
01:42:43

01:43:18
Speaker 1: We could have put a book out. We could have put a book out, yeah, and most of it would have been very illustrative, would have put people on a good path. And then some of it would have involved things like not making eye contact with a man while he was eating a banana, which is.
01:43:33
Speaker 6: Still good advice.
01:43:34
Speaker 1: Yeah. But the winner with a special honorable mention of Peyton West, like you're without cracking entry. But we really like this sincerity of it and the fact that it came from her late dad was Audrey in Northfield who said you never get a second chance to make a good first impression.

01:46:00

Speaker 6: It is the inaugural episode of the Punch. How do you get you Amazing? Was the first guest fun Amazing there. It was the rebuttal to the teasing in the number two spot and then other one spot of the way.
01:46:15
Speaker 7: Now, I'm hoping the children in Kangaroo Island don't go out and left the pool of the playground because that would be a worry and they could clean it up. So you know, don't taste this idea.
01:46:27
Speaker 1: Of just calling them.
01:46:28
Speaker 7: They were so quick to kill kill it kill it is inconvenient.
01:46:36
Speaker 6: Again, that is grown your doctor, grown your clearing the most passionate verdictxpert in Australia who has for I don't know how many times people, how many guests have been dumped on multiple occasions on five double a over our decade. That's three.
01:47:01
Speaker 1: In fact, I think she's got a perfect record. She's batting three from three, doctor Grone.
01:47:05
Speaker 6: The good thing is she came back on and made actually a passionate plea to us to forgive her because from in Ireland f E c K, which she claims she was using right less offensive. It certainly sounded like the Australian variant, which made it our number one spot of the week. We love Doctor Cleary. We do a lot of fun.
01:47:26
Speaker 1: We do love Doctor Cleary, and fittingly for a program that has been framed around rules to live by Dr Cleary's reminder never liquor reclining Corella you can add that one.
01:47:41
Speaker 6: To the list. Yeah, that's right. So you're learning something every wick.
01:47:44

Inspired by Patty, our wonderful producer and he's on deboot commentating the ANAFL game for five touble a tomorrow ours Bruce mcavaaney yesterday off here but for some advice, and Bruce said, back yourself in, do your work, back yourself in. We'll get it through a few of these if you like eight double two to three double o double A best piece of advice you ever received that it could win yourself the wonderful Olga's Fine Foods Meat Trade.
00:55:14
Speaker 3: Knockdown Bill two with Metro Homes Sell one and move on, keep the other as an investment.
00:55:20
Speaker 4: Metro Homes.
01:20:39

01:30:29

01:39:53

01:40:01
Speaker 6: What is winter?
01:40:02

01:40:05
Speaker 17: If anything, it's better?
01:40:06
Speaker 6: Is it really because of the people, like the wine regions?
01:40:10
Speaker 17: Yeah, red wines, nice open fires?
01:40:12

01:41:29
