This week on Eavesdroppin' comedy podcast, Geordie & Michelle look at three missing persons cold cases that refused to stay buried...
When 25-year-old Melanie Hall disappeared after a night out in Bath in 1996, police believed answers would come quickly, but nearly 30 years later, her murder remains unsolved. In Germany in 1994, the body of an unidentified man was found floating in the North Sea, weighed down with cast-iron cobblers' shoe lasts, but decades later, it remains a mystery, despite an unexpected connection to Australia. And in London, an unhoused man discovered frozen to death in a Chelsea doorway remained unidentified for more than 30 years before a simple clue finally identified him... Connecting all three cases is the work of Locate International, the volunteer-led charity that revisits long-forgotten missing person and unidentified body cases using genealogy, DNA, archival research and fresh investigative thinking. So, why did it take three decades to identify The Chelsea Man as Vincent Akpiroroh? Could advances in forensic science finally solve the mystery of the North Sea Man? And will Melanie Hall's killer ever be brought to justice? So grab a brown lemonade and settle in as the duo chat school photos, placentas and more on Eavesdroppin’. And remember, wherever you are, whatever you do, just keep Eavesdroppin’!
